WITH LOVE TO BEIJING?
(August 8, 2008, Japan)
WITH LOVE TO BEIJING?
It was very nice to watch the Olympic Games opening ceremony on TV in Japan, since the Tokyo time is just one hour ahead than the Beijing time.
Except half an hour interruption to observe a late-night TV news program, I watched the whole show conducted at the main stadium and all over the city Beijing, China.
It was not so bad, since Mr. Henry Kissinger was there as televised and Tokyo Governor Mr. Shintaro Ishihara must have been there, though, not spotted on a TV screen.
(Tokyo City is willing to hold the Olympic Games after London.)
The huge collective performance in the stadium and the abundant use of pyrotechnics all over Beijing really touched the nerve of a Japanese female reporter dispatched for reporting, though she told that ordinary citizens in Bejing seemed to be encouraged by the authority to stay at home and watch TV.
(I personally think it offended against morality to depict gigantic foot steps in the night sky with pyrotechnics, having people look up to be amazed at huge soles advancing from the Tienanmen Square to the National Stadium, since it must be against the moral codes ancient China called Zhou had enthusiastically observed and Confucius so admired. Mankind is only under Heaven but not someone's sole.
So, be careful about the modern Chinese mind-set!)
* * *
Some Japanese media are discussing that China will change after the Olympic Games if not over a short amount of time, since 70,000 local Chinese youths are being mobilized as volunteer guides for visiting foreigners. They will learn something from people coming from all over the world. China will have a more sound view on the world.
Yet, the Japanese media was reporting last night that thousands of Tibetans made demonstration before the Chinese consulate or embassy in Nepal against the Beijing Olympic Games, resulting in arrest of 1,000 demonstrators.
In addition, a Uighur terrorist with an AK-47 rifle behind issued a warning in the TV news program.
China had better grant Tibetans and the Uighur people independence.
* * *
Former National Diet member of Japan Mr. Katsuhiko Shirakawa wrote in his blog that it is nice for Tokyo Governor Mr. Shintaro Ishihara to visit China along with Prime Minister Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, though Mr. Ishihara’s anti-China stance was well known.
However, he also presented a picture of the entrance of the Tokyo National Stadium where the 1964 Olympic Games were held. One corner therein is full of weeds and wild grass. No one seems to take care of it any more, while the Stadium is still used often for various sports events.
http://www.liberal-shirakawa.net/tsurezuregusa/index.php?itemid=716
Mr. Shirakawa called himself liberal; but he is actually a kind of conservative, since he has patriot love as proven by his chagrin at the forgotten spirit of the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games.
* * *
In 1932, the Summer Olympic Games were held in Los Angeles, the U.S.
In 1984, the Summer Olympic Games were held in Los Angeles, the U.S.
In 1996, the Summer Olympic Games were held in Atlanta, the U.S.
Who felt in 1932 that the U.S. was soon going to play a key role in the world?
Who felt in 1984 that the U.S. was soon going to overwhelm the Soviet Union?
Who felt in 1996 that the U.S. was soon going to behave like the Roman Empire leveraging power at the Pentagon and the World Trade Center?
But, in 1964, it became apparent that Japan would soon restore its status as the major global power the Empire of Japan had enjoyed before WWII, though democratic and pacifist-Constitution-based post-WWII Japan has abandoned the use of military capability to enrich itself.
In 2008, what you are feeling in Beijing may become prophetic to China, Asia, and the world, though Tokyo City is willing to hold the Olympic Games after London.

Today, they hold the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Victims Memorial Peace Prayer Ceremony in Japan.
Indeed, we have to still review the history of the Roman Empire, since the Romans boasted that they inherited the glory of ancient Greece.
And, the Romans would not have hesitated to use a nuclear bomb, if they had had it, on any formidable enemy, including ancient China or modern Japan.
(If you don’t mind listening in Beijing:

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Rom 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Japanese King of Gag Cartoons: Fujio Akatsuka
Japanese King of Gag Cartoons: Fujio Akatsuka
Japanese manga comic artist Mr. Fujio Akatsuka died recently.
----------------------
Fujio Akatsuka is one of Japan's greatest humor comic artists of the time. His humorous style and many anti-heroic comic characters have transformed the field of manga, and continue to attract fans as more and more of his series are adapted as animated cartoons.
http://www.lambiek.net/artists/a/akatsuka_fujio.htm
----------------------
If the late Mr. Osamu Tezuka is an aristocrat in the Japanese manga world, Fujio Akatsuka is a lord of a local clan.
Osamu Tezuka graduated from the faculty of medicine of Osaka University. He could have simply enjoyed a proud life with the first-rate certificate in the Japanese society. But he knew where his talent lied so as to become the King of Manga after WWII. The essential lack of meanness, indecency, and violence is the main feature of Tezuka’s works. But, as Tezuka was a genius, his works appealed not only to children of middle class families but also to families of the working class.
Fujio Akatsuka only graduated from a middle school or a junior high school, which did not promise an automatic escalation to the middle class at all. You had to work typically as a salesclerk in a small shop or a manual laborer in a small factory. Unconcealed meanness, indecency, and violence were always close. What is worse, Japan has been always an education-conscious society. You must be always worried that your lack of education might bring you to contempt or put you to shame in your behaviors when you talk to someone with a background of higher education.
Osamu Tezuka and Fujio Akatsuka once lived in the same humble wooden apartment house in Tokyo when Tezuka was already a top manga artist moving up to Tokyo from Osaka; but Akatsuka also moving up to Tokyo alone was a young man yet trying hard to come up with his own hits in the manga comic industry in the era when TV broadcasting had just begun in Japan.
Cheap comic books or manga-bon have been always easy entertainment for children and youths in general in Japan. Even today, TV, manga, and baseball are three major opportunities for Japanese children to enjoy themselves, though nowadays a cellular phone and the Internet are penetrating with a sense of hidden danger.
Akatsuka’s manga title featuring sextuplet boys was a big hit. As one of the sextuplets was named “Osomatsu” with an implication of poor behaviors, the work was actually titled “Osomatsu-Kun.”
After WWII or in the middle of the high-growth era in Japan, though the majority of people did not have a car and never traveled overseas or did not live in a condominium building, there was a vibrant atmosphere in the whole society. Children were everywhere running, shouting, and playing on the street or in any empty lot yet to be developed. Energy of the sextuplets really mirrored the era.
All the characters Akatsuka depicted in Osomatsu-Kun are apparently born poor and living poor. They are all residents of the down-town kingdom. But, there is one exception: a character called "Iyami" meaning affectation.
Iyami was depicted ugly in that he boasted that he had come back from France while his manner was so mean and his behaviors so poor. He pretended to be a middle-class person who once travelled to and lived in Paris. Akatsuka made him take a really comical posture when Iyami was surprised, which became a great hit not only among readers but also in the whole society of Japan.
A conceited man who abruptly took a comical posture no others, poor and humble, would dare to take was actually proving that he was just a fool. But, the gesture amused so many Japanese readers of those days, including grown-ups.
However, Akatsuka did not politically attack the Iyami type of persons in the society. It is just funny and super funny to see a man boasting his past travel to Paris which only rich men could do then taking a stupid posture. Akatsuka was really a professional manga entertainer.
But, it is still interesting to know that Akatsuka’s daughter after growing up went to London to work as a modern artist, though she does not look mean at all.
What I want to say is that behaviors of Japanese political conservatives can be regarded as being on the extension of the spirit of characters of Akatsuka’s manga comics.
On the other hand, behaviors of Japanese political liberals, brainwashed by Europe-born Marxism and mainly driven by coarse hate for political enemies, are not on the extension of the spirit of characters of Akatsuka’s manga comics.
When China and North Korea produce or accept an artist like Fujio Akatsuka, they will abandon the authoritarianism and start to think that North Korea must release Japanese citizens abducted by North Korean secret agencies for these decades.
************************************************
Osamu Tezuka and Fujio Akatsuka could draw attractive lines in depicting their manga characters. Their touches were soft, careful, and humane, though Tezuka’s is of the middle class flavor and Akatsuka’s of working class’.
Yet, there was a real Japanese artist painter who was senior to Tezuka and Akatsuka and could paint and draw better than they in presenting portraits of girls and women.
He might have influenced those manga artists, since the painter had traveled to and worked in Paris in late 1920's gaining high reputation.
http://www.fukiyakoji-museum.com/goods.htm
What I mean is that a genius is a product of the whole tradition of the society.
Indeed, Fujio Akatsuka and Osamu Tezuka had their big hits in a genre of comics for girls, though I cannot still understand their motivations to professionally earn money in such a genre.
Nonetheless, who the gold medalist in the women's marathon in Beijing will be is the only my concern nowadays.

Aurelius Augustinus in the Summer of 386
(All Around the North of Tokyo Metropolitan Area)
Aurelius Augustinus in the Summer of 386
After having checked a late-night TV news program last night, I referred to some sites each of which presented a unique view of Japan and the United States.
For example, an old article a newspaper reporter wrote last summer in his blog tells that hedge funds in New York and London would start to buy uranium since the mortgage business was facing a downturn and they would even start to persuade the US President Mr. Bush to regard North Korea as a future business partner due to rare metal mines so rich and promising in the poorest country of the Far East.
However, a funny TV news report invoking a smile would really help me sleep better.
So, after observing on TV the shapes of cookies made by Mrs. McCain and Mrs. Obama, I fell into a restful sleep, since those shapes are of a kind a cookie monster would simply love.
SECTION I: AT THE END OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE
The Roman Empire, 360 years after the execution of Jesus Christ, repented and converted into Christianity just to survive 100 more years as "The City of God" must have been written.
378–395: Theodosius I, Roman emperor, bans pagan worship, Christianity is made the official religion of the Empire.
395: Roman Empire splits into West Rome and East Rome.
410: St. Augustine writes The City of God.
452: Pope Leo I talks around Attila the Hun in order to Protect the city Rome.
476: The Fall of Rome in the West.
It will be truly a fan to study the end of the United States in a history class in the future. Students all over the world, say, in the 22nd century will love to read this part of history.
But, so far as now, we have to first discuss the end of the Roman Empire.
When Jesus Christ came among ancient Israelites to equip people with the Gospel, the history of ancient Israelites since Abraham who had left the Mesopotamia around 2000 B.C. ended.
Likewise, when St. Augustine came among Romans, the history of the ancient Roman Empire ended.
It is as if the ancient Israelites had existed, lived, and worked only to wait for the coming of Jesus Christ.
Likewise, it is as if ancient Romans had existed, lived, and worked only to wait for the coming of St. Augustine.
I think so because without the prior emergence of St. Augustine Pope Leo I could not have wisdom and guts to meet and deal with the king of the Huns.
I think so because without the prior emergence of St. Augustine the Renaissance and the Protestant Reformation would not have been possible at all.
Likewise, I think that without the emergence of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago descendants of ancient Israelites could not have survived and descendants of the Roman citizens, namely West Europeans, would not have evolved as we observe them today.
SECTION II: Augustine of Hippo
Just like St. Paul, St. Augustine was given sudden divine advice.
----------------------------------------------
In the summer of 386, after having read an account of the life of Saint Anthony of the Desert which greatly inspired him, Augustine underwent a profound personal crisis and decided to convert to Catholic Christianity, abandon his career in rhetoric, quit his teaching position in Milan, give up any ideas of marriage, and devote himself entirely to serving God and the practices of priesthood, which included celibacy.
Key to this conversion was the voice of an unseen child he heard while in his garden in Milan telling him in a sing-song voice to tolle lege ("take up and read").
He grabbed the nearest text to him, which was Paul's Epistle to the Romans and opened it at random to 13:13-14, which read: "Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying; but put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires."[13]
He would detail his spiritual journey in his famous Confessions, which became a classic of both Christian theology and world literature. Ambrose baptized Augustine, along with his son, Adeodatus, on Easter Vigil in 387 in Milan, and soon thereafter in 388 he returned to Africa.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustine_of_Hippo
----------------------------------------------
This is a miracle.
It is a kind of miracle that happened only once in Europe in these 2000 years after the conversion or the metanoia of St. Paul.
Based on this miracle, the Renaissance and the Protestant Reformation were actually made possible.
As the miracle of St. Paul’s conversion led to the end of ancient Jerusalem, the miracle of St. Augustine led to the fall of ancient Rome.
The significance of these incidents in terms of causality is deep and profound.
For example, if you wish the fall of America, you still need this kind of miracle.
SECTION III: HISTORICAL INEVITABILITY
Ancient Jerusalem must have prospered so as to fall with St. Paul.
Ancient Rome must have prospered so as to fall with St. Augustine.
The fall of ancient Jerusalem became a foundation of development of Christianity in the Roman Empire.
The fall of ancient Rome became a foundation of development of Christianity in Europe.
Then, with whom to fall must America prosper?
Whose foundation of development of faith in God or Allah will the possible fall of America become?
Millions of knowledgeable people, critics, pundits, scholars, experts, journalists, politicians, and awaken citizens in the world are talking about the possible end of supremacy of the United States; but nobody argues the need of another St. Augustine.
For example, you may happen to be super rich in Wall Street; but you cannot happen to be super powerful enough to destroy Wall Street.
There you need a paradigm change to realize a real change. And such a paradigm change is only possible in the context called inevitability in history.
**********************************************************************
After having checked a late-night TV news program last night, I referred to some sites each of which presented a unique view of Japan and the United States.
For example, Mr. Bill Totten wrote in his blog that the U.S. wanted to militarily attack Iran since the U.S. Government, Republican or Democratic, was characterized by violence and arrogance in addition to greed for crude oil, which however would turn to a great crisis of the world economy.
However, a funny TV news report invoking a smile would really help me sleep better.
So, after observing on TV the Olympic torch relay in Beijing, an unthinkable event if decades ago with the huge portrait of Chairman Mao behind in the Tiananmen Square, I fell into a restful sleep, since Mao Tse-tung looked like poorly helpless seeing off a relay runner from the great wall of the Square.
I mean that another St. Augustine does not look like emerging from China or the United States at all, since they do not look like being able to make distinction between the kingdom of God, the kingdom of the laity, and the kingdom of the Devil, all on the earth.
(If you don’t mind listening:

Exo 8:7 And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.
Exo 8:8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.
Exo 8:9 And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?
Exo 8:10 And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.
Exo 8:11 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.
Exo 8:12 And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
Exo 8:13 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.

How Material Civilization Will Fall like Rome
How Material Civilization Will Fall like Rome
After having checked a late-night TV news program last night, I referred to some Internet sites of Japanese politicians to find that there was not much mention of Hiroshima.
SECTION I: The Anniversary of the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima
Things seem to be very simple in one’s life and the whole world sometimes.
The future of the U.S. might be forecast from their way of war against the Empire of Japan more than 60 years ago.
Indeed, today, namely on August 6, 63 years ago, or in 1945, Hiroshima was attacked by a nuclear bomb dropped from a US B29 bomber.
The attack was intended to kill Japanese civilians as many as possible, though Hiroshima was then one of major military cities of the Empire of Japan.
Until today, the number of victims of the nuclear bomb attack at Hiroshima has reached about 260,000, including those immediately killed on Aug. 6, 1945 and those gradually killed by residual radioactivity over 63 years.
This act is tantamount to the 9/11 Terror on Washington D.C. and New York in that they intended to kill not only soldiers and officers but also civilians as many as possible.
Both the Hiroshima attack and the 9/11 Terror are clearly against the international law that respects humanity.
For the U.S. not to be attacked by terrorists using a nuclear bomb, it seems to be essential for American people to be more friendly and cooperative with Japan to achieve global peace.
It looks so even from a view point of causality.
SECTION II: Nuclear Tests in Hsinchiang Uighur Autonomous Region
Things seem to be very simple in one’s life and the whole world sometimes.
If God is displeased with China’s nuclear weapon development, He would not stop a great earthquake happening in China and anti-Beijing movements by Uighurs.
China has been conducting nuclear weapon tests in Hsinchiang Uighur Autonomous Region.
It is said that China carried out a nuclear bomb test 46 times between 1964 and 1996 in the region actually causing death to 200,000 people most of whom were Uighurs.
-----------------------------------------------------
The Uighur people, who live in the region, are demonstrating constantly against the tests. But protesting is very difficult in China, as demonstrations are quickly suppressed by the Chinese army. Many demonstrators have been arrested and hurt. A speaker of the Chinese defense ministry calls the demonstrators "barbarians" who want to destroy Chinese military facilities. The biggest demonstration took place on 8 May, 1992, when about 10,000 people were demonstrating in Kashgar. In March 1993, 1,000 Uigur tried to occupy the test site; the Chinese Peoples Army fired shots. There was much damage on the site. After the May test this year, some 300 Uighur marched to the test site to protest against the test. Unfortunately, the Uighurs protests do not get much attention in the rest of the world.
According to a speaker of the Uighur people, about 200,000 people have been killed due to the tests. He says that the leukemia rate in Xinjian is 7-8 times that in the rest of China. According to him, the life expectancy in the region now compared with that of the 1970s has decreased by two years.
http://www10.antenna.nl/wise/index.html?http://www10.antenna.nl/wise/438/4335.html
------------------------------------------
You may also gain a deep insight into the Great Sichuan Earthquake that occurred in Southern China a few months ago, since there is a nuclear weapon development center in the Sichuan Province.
------------------------------------------
Testing takes place at the Lop Nor site, approximately 265 kilometers south-east of Urumqi in the Xinjian region (due west of Beijing, due north of Kathmandu). The Xinjian region is home to the Uighur people, and China has never allowed any form of independent or outside assessment of the environmental or health impacts of its nuclear testing program. Since testing began in 1964, China has conducted one test on average every 284 days.
China's current testing program is thought to involve warheads for two new missile systems, one for deployment in the late 1990s, and one around 2010. The latter may carry several warheads. China is also developing a new sea-launched ballistic missile (JL-2) for deployment on its second generation strategic nuclear-powered submarine. In May 1995, China tested a new ballistic missile with a range of 2,000 kilometers.
The chief design laboratory for Chinese nuclear weapons is the Ninth Academy at Mianyang (Sichuan) or the Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP). Plutonium production for weapons purposes, which has taken place at two reactors, in Jiuquan (Gansu) and Guangyuan (Sichuan), reportedly ceased in 1991. However a new plutonium facility is scheduled to open in the mid-1990s.
http://archive.greenpeace.org/comms/nukes/ctbt/read11.html
------------------------------------------
China should stop the development and possession of nuclear weapons and abandon the suppression of the Uighur people, immediately or while the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are being carried out.
SECTION III: NOT CO2 BUT COG
Things seem to be very simple in one’s life and the whole world sometimes.
They find it easy to brainwash people with a notion that CO2 must be focused on as the major factor of the global temperature rise. And, they are telling you what to do to decrease the amount of CO2 emission in your home and office.
But, they never explain what the sources of CO2 are.
The sources of CO2 are coal, oil, and natural gas (COG).
The troublesome CO2 is almost all generated only from human activities burning coal, oil, or natural gas.
So then, the scientifically and economically correct attitude is to focus on coal, oil, and natural gas even when aiming at reduction of emission of CO2.
At home and in the office, people do not burn coal, oil, and natural gas at all or at least in a large amount.
It is electric power plants that are burning coal, oil, and natural gas in order to generate electricity homes and offices are consuming.
So then, the scientifically and economically correct attitude is to focus on electric power plants.
If you close all the electric power plants in the world that are burning COG, the CO2 emission will decrease roughly by 70% in my feeling.
In addition, if all the vehicles using gasoline or other COG-based fuels are forbidden or abolished, the CO2 emission caused by human activities will decrease roughly by another 20% in my feeling.
To save the world by stopping the global warming, you do not have to mind invisible CO2 but coal, oil, and natural gas.
Juts stop using coal, oil, and natural gas in electric power plants and cars, and then the level of CO2 in the air will soon drop drastically, probably by 90%.
Ideally, mankind should live without using coal, oil, and natural gas, which means that mankind should live without electricity and cars.
If you use electricity of any origin, the electric energy will be transformed to heat in the air ultimately, raising the temperature.
If you use cars driven by any energy, the kinetic energy will be transformed to heat in the air ultimately, raising the temperature.
Now, you know how simple it is with a focus on COG but how complicated things will become with a focus on CO2.
Super rich men in Europe want to continue the use of electricity, cars, coal, oil, and natural gas, so that they like to turn the eyes of peoples to invisible CO2 while obscuring the sources of CO2.
Of course I can understand your need for electricity and cars if you are not super rich. But, first of all, you have to take a right path to solution: COG not CO2.
Anyway, remember it is simple to save the world: Do Not Use Coal, Oil, and Natural Gas as an Energy Source in Power Plants and Cars.
SECTION IV: Dream Weapons
Things seem to be very simple in one’s life and the whole world sometimes.
If one of the poorest country in the world, say like Haiti, has a genius who can invent a more powerful weapon than a nuclear bomb, the country will produce the super weapon to request money as much as they want from the U.S.
A similar incident once happened in history.
The Roman Empire had the strongest infantry troops around the Mediterranean and Europe then. But, they were not good at forming strong troops of horse, since it is a matter of natural environment and human traditions in it.
Inevitably, when the Roman Empire’s Army encountered horse soldiers coming from the east, the history changed.
The then richest empire on the earth found that their well-trained and experienced foot soldiers could not beat back and their slow cavalry could not match fast troopers of the Huns, a half broken tribe being severely driven westward by other horseback races in Asia.
It is not an easy task to quickly prepare tens of thousands of horse soldiers equipped with effective weapons and guided by suitable strategies, no matter if they look like a mass of ragged tramps on horses.
As a matter of fact of history, the Huns destroyed the pride of the Roman Empire in terms of military superiority:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The origin of the Huns has been the subject of debate for centuries; however it can be said with general agreement that they may have been a confederation of Central Asian and European tribes, many of them horse nomads. Many experts think they may have been Turkic people, descended from the Xiongnu tribes that menaced China as early as the 5th century BC. The first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi, built part of the Great Wall to keep the Xiongnu out.
Their united power appeared or began to form in Europe in the 400s. They achieved military superiority over their neighbours by their readiness for battle, unusual mobility, and weapons, including the composite bow…
Attila returned in 452 to claim his marriage to Honoria anew, invading and ravaging Italy along the way…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attila_the_Hun
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
However, the Eastern Roman Empire survived for more 1,000 years.
It is because the Eastern Roman Empire had adopted cavalry earlier and more fully than the Western Roman Empire, since the former is closer to Central Asia covered by prairies and half deserts.
In addition, Christianity might be another key. Constantinople must be more Christian than Rome. The capital of the Eastern Roman Empire must have had more pious citizens than Rome had.
Conversely, excellent cavalry and Christianity must become dream weapons for the Eastern Roman Empire to survive until the 15th century (when Columbus started to sail to Japan only to reach America).
So, if one of the poorest country in the world, say like Cuba, wants to surpass the U.S. in the national power, it needs not only super physical weapons but also super spiritual weapons.
****************************************************************************
After having checked a late-night TV news program last night, I referred to some Internet sites concerning US politics to find that they were talking about a need to develop new energy sources.
Yet, nuclear weapons, big houses, the dollar, and Christianity are the four major elements that have made the U.S. the sole superpower with its material civilization based on coal, oil, natural gas, electricity, and cars.
Today, even North Korea has nuclear bombs; the subprime loan crisis has made American big houses look cursed; the position of the dollar is now sustained by financial institutes outside the U.S.; and no one looks like following the Decalogue or the Ten Commandments in the U.S.
It is time for Americans and non-Americans to start to fear God, since neither nuclear weapons, big houses, the dollar, nor Christianity is effective to resist God with.

Rev 8:6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
Rev 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
Rev 8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
Rev 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
Rev 8:12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Horrible Derivatives of the European Christianity
Horrible Derivatives of the European Christianity
After having checked a late-night TV news program last night, I read the article of The New York Times online about the recently deceased Russian writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
Japanese politicians should read his books rather than manga comics.
SECTION I: A FRIEND OF A FRIEND OF ANOTHER NAZIS
No opposition factions are allowed to exist in some Japanese political parties.
It is well known that you cannot criticize openly leaders or policies of the Japanese Communist Party, the Social Democratic Party of Japan, or New Komeito even if you are a member of such a party.
But, in North Korea, when you criticize its ruling party, the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), you will be arrested and sent to a kind of death camp, no matter if you are not a member of the party, for WPK is the only political party in North Korea.
And it is well known that the Social Democratic Party of Japan has a strong tie with North Korea. And it is also well known that the major opposition party in Japan, the Democratic Party of Japan, needs help from the Social Democratic Party of Japan to seize the reins of the government through the General Election.
But you must know that WPK of North Korea segregates its people according to their family history. If your ancestors were poor farmers, poor workers, or insurgents during the reign of the Empire of Japan, you would be treated well. But, if not, you would be neglected or treated cruelly sometimes by the North Korean Government. In fact, millions of North Koreans were forced to die of starvation in 1990’s since they were not born in desired families.

If you liken WPK to Nazis, it will not sound strange. Then, the Social Democratic Party of Japan can be likened to a friend of another Nazis. Accordingly, the Democratic Party of Japan, the largest opposition party, can be likened to a friend of a friend of another Nazis'.
Yet, Mr. Taro Aso, General Secretary of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, should not have mentioned "Nazis" even as an implied reference to the Democratic Party of Japan in his conversations with one of leaders of the Democratic Party of Japan, since Western media might disqualify him as a candidate of the next Japanese Prime Minister.
Anyway, if the Democratic Party of Japan is determined to come to power or contribute to taking back Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea, it must not work with the Social Democratic Party of Japan which can be likened to a friend of another Nazis, since WPK of North Korea can be reasonably likened to Nazis so long as they illegally and inhumanly retain Japanese abductees.
SECTION II: NAZIS-LIKE SUPPRESSION OF UIGHURS IN CHINA
Ms. Yoshiko Sakurai did not look so romantic to me when she was young, though she looked like an actress.
But, she is the only female critic that has built up her career through the media, especially through TV appearances, to the state of a kind of godmother in the Japanese conservative political circles and journalism.
In her recent blog, she introduced a letter a Uighur scholar under arrest by the Chinese authority sent to his wife and children living in Tokyo. He was encouraging his family in Tokyo to return to China. Nonetheless, it is apparent that the Chinese authority coerced the Uighur scholar into writing the letter against his will or faked it to arrest his family, too.
The background of this incident is that former Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe pointed at the case of this scholar as an example of racial persecution of Uighurs by the Chinese Government in his meeting with the Chinese President Mr. Hu Jintao in Tokyo this May.
( http://yoshiko-sakurai.jp/index.php/2008/07/12/%e3%80%8c%e7%9f%a5%e3%82%89%e3%82%8c%e3%81%96%e3%82%8b%e4%b8%ad%e5%9b%bd%e5%85%b1%e7%94%a3%e5%85%9a%e3%81%ae%e5%b0%91%e6%95%b0%e6%b0%91%e6%97%8f%e6%94%af%e9%85%8d%e3%80%80%e7%aa%81%e5%a6%82%e6%8a%95/ )
China has another face which can be likened to a kind of Nazis in Hsinchiang Uighur Autonomous Region as with the case of its racial persecution of Tibetans.
---------------------------------------------------
Amnesty International has reported for many years on the longstanding repression of the Uighurs, a Turkic, mainly Muslim, people who make up the majority of the population in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of northwest China.
- Uighurs face serious and widespread violations of their civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.
- The Chinese government is using the "war on terror" as a pretext to justify its policies aimed at repressing all forms of political or religious dissent in the region.
- Chinese authorities fail to distinguish between legitimate political dissent and "terrorist" activities.
- Repressive policies can lead to further violence, as those who wish to express their grievances peacefully find that all channels for such expression are closed.
- Chinese authorities harass relatives of Uighurs who have fled the XUAR, as well as Uighur activists living abroad.
- Growing numbers of Uighurs abroad, including asylum seekers and refugees, are reportedly being forcibly returned to China from countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Kazakstan, Nepal and Pakistan.
- Chinese authorities continue to impose severe controls on the flow of information in the XUAR with devastating consequences for human rights in the region.

---------------------------------------------------
But, of course, Uighurs must not resort to terror to get independence from China, though two Uighurs reportedly attacked Chinese policemen to kill 16 of them yesterday or the day before.

SECTION III: FAILED CHRISTIANITY
From a historical point of view, Europeans as a representative of Christianity committed unthinkably horrible sins in these 2000 years, without mentioning their act of colonization in and before the 20th century.
They performed and practiced, without a fear of God, the segregation of Africans and African Americans, massacres of Judaists, the slavery of African Americans, and the extermination of cultures and civilizations of the indigenous peoples in the Central and South America and Australia.
As most of Japanese know these facts, they do not like to convert to Christianity.
What is worse, Marxism was born in the European Civilization based on Christianity and Judaism. Non-humanitarian communism was also developed in the European Civilization based on Christianity and Judaism to deploy into China and North Korea.
And decisively, Nazism was one of bad fruits of the European Civilization led by the Vatican.
As most of Japanese know these facts, they do not like to convert to Christianity.
In this context, Japanese will not trust Christians at the bottom of their heart so long as China continues to suppress Tibetans and Uighurs and North Korea continues domestic segregation and the holding of Japanese abductees, since China and North Korea are remote friends of European Christians and Judaists due to the origins of their national philosophy.
In summary, every Japanese sees great and holy Jesus Christ on one side and the failed Europe-born Christianity on another side.
Most of the Japanese can be called "those who respect Jesus Christ" but not Christians at all in a conventional sense, since they know Asian Buddhists behave better than European/American Christians in most scenes of life.

After having checked a late-night TV news program last night, I read the article of The New York Times online about the recently deceased Russian writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn:
----------------------------
Published: August 4, 2008
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, whose stubborn, lonely and combative literary struggles gained the force of prophecy as he revealed the heavy afflictions of Soviet Communism in some of the most powerful works of the 20th century, died late on Sunday at the age of 89 in Moscow.

----------------------------
When I was young, I of course read some of Japanese versions of his novels.
But until I read this article by The New York Times, I did not realize that he once divorced and married again while his former wife was resisting his remarriage with another woman.
Now I know why he lost an appealing power at some point in his career as a religiously revolutionary writer in the 20th century.
Indeed, in a simple human relationship, there can be a graver sin than those found in Nazis, failed Christianity, and inhumane Marxism.

Deu 8:5 Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
Deu 8:6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

AMERICA AND THE ROMAN EMPIRE
AMERICA AND THE ROMAN EMPIRE
No animals have a sense of history.
No super rich Americans might have a sense of history, either.
But, Jesus Christ’s teaching is based on history, since he referred to Abraham and Moses, though not Egyptian Pyramids, Alexander the Great, Caesar, or Cleopatra.
Every poor American should have a holy sense of history to leave the false glory of the American Material Civilization that has made them suffer so much.
SECTION I: AN AMERICAN THINK TANK
In today’s Mainichi Shimbun newspaper (which has woefully some bad reputation nowadays in Japan for a certain reason), a Japanese expert who worked as a visiting researcher in a think tank in the U.S. last year wrote that he had been shocked as he had heard most of American researchers in the notable think tank talking that Japan had to inevitably rely so much on the U.S. because of its fear of China.
(It is however tantamount to claiming that the U.S. has to inevitably so much rely on Israel because of its fear of Cuba.)
The fact is that China is so much afraid of potential military capability of Japan, so that the Chinese Communist Party has been infusing so much money to covert operations in the U.S., targeting top politicians, notable pundits and journalists, and researchers in the influential think tanks.
In their clandestine operations covering from the White House to The New York Times, Chinese agents are disseminating an idea and notion that Japan is afraid of China.
But, the fact is that China is so much afraid of potential military capability of Japan, wishing the U.S. will continue to maintain present large-scale military bases in the Japanese territories so as to put brake on Japan’s own large-scale build-up of military capability.
Yet, why are these stupid mental behaviors of American experts in the international politics possible?
It is because they think they are cleverer and wiser than Japanese and Chinese while they are not, since they believe they can understand Japan and China while they cannot understand the Japanese language and the long history of the relationships between Japan and China.
SECTION II: FOREIGN STUDENTS IN THE U.S.
But, more critically, Americans think that they are as great as the Roman Empire and everybody envies the success of the United States, wishing to be part of it.
Their misunderstanding seems to come mostly from a fact that so many excellent students come to learn in universities, especially post-graduate schools in the United States.
According to a report of National Science Foundation, non-U.S. citizen’s shares of doctorates awarded by US universities are as follows:
In science and engineering, foreign students account for 45.2% of all the students awarded doctorates in the U.S.
Total 4,323 students from China were awarded doctorates in science and engineering by U.S. universities.
Similarly, 1,524 students from India were awarded doctorates by U.S. universities.
Similarly, 1,219 students from Korea were awarded doctorates.
But, only 222 Japanese students were awarded doctorates in science and engineering by U.S. universities.

However, more clearly stating the state of US universities is the following report:

Why America needs foreign students
Posted by Michael Kanellos
Here's one more reason to give green cards to foreign graduate students.
They are the only ones in school.
U.S. citizens outnumber foreign nationals in undergraduate electrical engineering programs in U.S. universities by a wide margin, according to a report form the Engineering Workforce Commission of the American Association of Engineering Societies.
U.S. kids accounted for 89 percent of the undergrads in these programs in 2006.
But 51 percent of the students in masters programs in EE in U.S. universities were foreign nationals last year. Only 49 percent come from the states.
In PhD programs, foreign nationals made up 71 percent of the students in 2006.
On one level, you could argue that foreign nationals are taking spots that otherwise could have gone to U.S. citizens. But the drop off from undergrad indicates that 1) U.S. students aren't interested in graduate school or 2) aren't doing as well and can't get in. Either way, if the foreign nationals can get permanent residence, there's a better chance they might stay here after graduation.
Tech lobbying groups are trying to make it easier for foreign nationals to get visas.

------------------------------------------------
Indeed, there are many youths in China and India who love to learn in the U.S. to be part of rich and mighty America.
But, they are not a majority among millions of students learning in their domestic higher-education facilities in Asia.
While the U.S. is losing respect in the world due to the War in Iraq and the subprime loan crisis and the oil-foods market speculations, the doctorates obtained in the U.S. will also lose respect.
SECTION III: LESSONS FROM THE ROMAN EMPIRE
Theories as to why the Roman Empire vanished are many; it is said that they are as many as the number of experts who argue the subject.
The most decisive cause which worked at the most comprehensive level and in the largest scale of space and time must be a climate change as I once argued in EEE Reporter on May 1, 2008.
http://eereporter.blogspot.com/2008/05/eee-lecture-on-europe.html
The era of the Roman Empire was surrounded by a sub-tropical climate which covered from the Great Britain to the west of the Rhine and the regions around the Black Sea.
The coming of cold climates around the Mediterranean suppressed all the human activities in the region, since the level of material civilization of those days could not compete with the force of the nature in the era, namely around the 5th century.
As you see, the big difference between the United States and the Roman Empire is that the former is an extension of the Northern European Civilization but the latter is the sub-tropical European Civilization which started in Greece.
(In other word, America is not a direct offspring of the Roman Civilization.)
There is stark discontinuity in the passage from the Roman Empire to the Northern European Civilization; and it must indicate the great climate change in those transition periods of time.
However, the fact that there is an era called "the Renaissance" means something more than simple discontinuity in the mode of civilizations between the Roman Empire and Europe after the Renaissance.
Put simply, it is a deep influence of Christianity.
People who accepted the teaching of Christianity did not respect Rome any more. They lost the will to protect, bolster, and further develop the city Rome when the capital of the Empire fell due to invasion by Germanic tribes and other forces from the east.
Even without Rome, they must have thought, they could live with confidence. It is because they came to believe and admire Heaven respectable Christians of the era preached so enthusiastically.
It was great change in paradigm. The center of the world, namely Rome, was no more necessary, since people started to live just looking up at Heaven.
Respectable Christians of the era must have said to people who were left in ruins of the Roman Empire, "Forget about the glory of Rome, since the glory in Heaven is far more splendid than that of Rome."
Germanic tribes must have found a chance to conquer their inferior complex to the Romans in the teaching of Christianity.
Therefore Europeans living in the north of the Alps became successors of early Christians in the Roman Empire but not of citizens of the Roman Empire.
This is the meaning of the Middle Age in the European history.
On the surface there were no splendors in the medieval times of Europe which were comparable with those of the Roman Empire; but inside the minds and hearts of people living in the medieval times, there must be the far more splendid glory of Heaven acknowledged and conceived by humble Europeans.
In this context, Christianity around the 5th century made Europeans living in the former territories of the Roman Empire leave the ruins of the Roman Empire without regret while the climate was proceeding toward coldness.
********************************************************************
Like Germanic tribes in the later stage of the Roman Empire, now many foreign students are being engaged in the academic, high-tech, and industrial circles of the United States.
They are sustaining the national power or the glory of the United Sates so far.
However, when they come to have a new and revolutionary paradigm, philosophy, or religion, they will be freed from brainwash or blind admiration for material splendors of America.
Their possible drastic movement or departure from enchantment of material prosperity of the U.S. will also free poor American citizens from the brainwash or blind admiration for material splendors of America.
What the U.S. is now relying on to sell their glory and splendors to smart foreign students seems to be unrestricted big money and unregulated indelicate entertainment rather than spiritual value such as freedom, democracy, and individualism.
And, the subprime loan crisis and speculations in crude oil and foods seem to become factors to trigger the paradigm change among wise foreign students in the U.S.
No U.S. think tanks will be any more able to persuade foreign students to continue to hold fast to the belief that the American dollar is a sole and honorable symbol of justice, freedom, democracy, and prosperity in this globalized world.
(I may see a late-night TV news program today, after all.)
Pro 8:1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
Pro 8:2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
Pro 8:3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Pro 8:4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
