"the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John" - Very Modern History of America

Tokyo Government Office Area...and Anti-Nuclear Energy Protesters' Tents...

Very Modern History of America

When the Vietnam War ended, the US entered a new era which was yet to be shaped so clearly.

It came in 1991 when the Persian Gulf War started and the Soviet Union collapsed.  But at the beginning of this new era, US voters intriguingly opted for a new type of leader Mr. Clinton rather than conventional elite politician Mr. H.W. Bush.

At the time, namely after the Persian Gulf War and the Cold War, CIA regarded Japan as the most grave virtual enemy.  Japanese economy was then threatening the American hegemony in the global industry, including the fields of electronics and automobiles.  Among many, Sony, Toyota, Panasonic, and Honda became ubiquitous in the American market.  It was the early stage of introduction of high-tech applications into almost all the sectors in the society,  And this high technology meant advanced electronics symbolized by chips with high integration of functions. The era of PCs, the Internet, and cellular phones was approaching.  American voters instinctively felt that the very conventional elite politician Mr. H.W. Bush could not well cope with the high-tech war against Japan, though he had been a US Navy pilot who had directly exchanged fire with the Imperial Navy of Japan but got unfortunately shot down near Iwojima during WWII.  They opted for the young and high-tech oriented Mr. Clinton and Mr. Gore who didn't even join the Vietnam War like one of sons of Mr. H.W. Bush.

In 1990's, what America was engaged in under the Clinton Administration was not the War on Terror but the High-Tech War and the Money War against Japan.  So, the Clinton Administration heavily protected American high-tech businesses and computer companies, including Microsoft and Intel, as well as Wall Street companies against Japan.  As time went by, Japan went into a decade-long recession after the burst of its bubble economy around 1990, facing a challenge of economic globalization symbolized by economic growth of China. Finally the US looked like securing its position as the economic super-power.  No Japanese OS became the standard for operating systems used in personal computers worldwide.  No Japanese CPUs became the standard for hardware architecture of personal computers worldwide. No Japanese telecommunications protocols became the standard for global public data-communications links but the Internet did as it had been invented by DOD. And, through the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, the Japanese yen couldn't be the key currency in East Asia, as the US Government was strongly reluctant to support the idea.  In one way or another, the Clinton Administration thought that they won Japan getting into a decade-long deflation. The US economy was at the top and the summit at the end of the 20th century; the US elites virtually declared that America was now the sole super-power in the world, as they beat the Japanese challenge eventually.

Yet, the 9/11 Terror blew off their paradigm.  A new enemy emerged who was not a pacifist like the Japanese at all.

But, interestingly, American voters had already elected Mr. W. Bush as their president, though technically Mr. Gore must have won the 2000 Presidential Election, especially in Florida.  Before the 9/11 Terror Osama bin Laden reportedly masterminded, American voters opted for plain intelligence of Mr. W. Bush rather than sophisticated intellectual level of Mr. Gore.  Americans came to feel the gap unreasonably expanding between sophisticated intellectual elites of America, who were getting so arrogant, and plain Americans, including those who felt being left as the digital divide was expanding.

President W. Bush had connection with the bin Ladens, a very rich owner of a Saudi Arabian construction company, through his business careers, but it did't hurt his honor.  President W. Bush mobilized US troops for the War in Iraq based on speculative evidences about Iraqi association with Islamic terrorists and Osama bin Laden's group and about Iraq's possession of mass destruction weapons (probably because there had been reportedly an assassination attempt of his father Mr. H.W. Bush by the Iraqi Government after the Persian Gulf War).  But it did't hurt his honor, either.  But, under the Bush Administration, the very ugly aspects of the American money industry were exposed, beginning with ENRON and culminating in Lehman Brothers.  The 2008 financial crisis was taken by many experts as an event bringing serious consequences at the level of the 1929 Great Depression.

Interestingly, there was a Senator from Chicago in 2005.  He was against the War on Terror President Mr. W. Bush started and wrote a book about himself who had the European-American mother and the modern-African father.  Accordingly, he became one of major candidates for the 2008 Presidential Election, though Mrs. Clinton was believed to become the first female American President in 2009.  But, the subprime loan mortgage problem was being intensified all through 2008.  Some voters came to look for a presidential candidate who had had no connection with the 2000 stock boom fueled by Wall Street under the Clinton Administration.  Others felt so betrayed by President Mr. W. Bush and Republican politicians as it became clear that Saddam Hussein's Iraq had no weapons for mass destruction existence of which Mr. W. Bush had claimed before the invasion of Iraq in the early spring of 2003.  Hence, Mr. Obama became the Democratic candidate for the presidency.  Then finally, Lehman Brother went bankrupt in September 2008 as a shocking precedent for a subsequent series of crashes of big American corporations, including GM.  Everybody came to turn to Mr. Obama as the impact of this 2008 Financial Crisis was so huge and the disenchantment with the War on Terror was so grave.  What rich European Americans, including President Mr. W. Bush, had built on the shining hill looked like all getting collapsed and crumbled.  American voters determinedly chose Mr. Obama who overwhelmingly became the honorable first African American President of the US in 2009.

Yet, no one was sure whether President Mr. Obama would serve the nation from the White House for eight years as well as whether he could take on Osama bin Laden eventually in early May of 2011...

"Joseph, of the house of David" - Deaths of Sisters

Tokyo Government Administration District

Deaths of Sisters

In Hokkaido, the most northern island among four major islands of Japan, there lived sisters.

Their farther died of illness when they were middle and primary school girls.  Their mother died of illness, too, when the oldest daughter was a high-school student.  And, the younger sister had a mental handicap.

They lived together in their home town in the middle of Hokkaido.  The elder sister worked in an apparel shop; the younger one was engaged in activities in a care facility.  But, several years ago the apparel shop was closed.  The elder sister couldn't find another job in the town, so that she moved to Sapporo, the prefectural capital of Hokkaido, leaving her younger sister alone.  Then the younger sister got depressed and stopped to go to the care facility.  So, the elder sister decided to call her poor younger sister to Sapporo to live together, though she couldn't yet find a stable job for herself.

As time went by, recession fell heavily upon their shoulders.  The elder sister couldn't find any part-time job for weeks and months.  They had to finally live on special allowances for the disabled the younger sister received from the public office.  So, the elder sister went to the city office to look for any social aid applicable to her.  An official recommended her to apply for livelihood protection or welfare benefits, but she would not apply for public livelihood assistance.  She received only 14 cans of bread from the city office as aid.

Then, the elder sister in her early 40's suddenly died of illness last November.  At the time they were behind in their rent and they had the gas cut off.  The younger and mentally handicapped sister was left alone.  She tried to call the police or an ambulance by cellular phone.  She pushed number "111," though the telephone number for the police is "110" or for an ambulance "119." The line was never connected.  The younger sister also died from coldness and hunger while the winter in Hokkaido was getting so colder.  The dead bodies of the poor sisters were found recently in the snow-covered city Sapporo.  Hence, it was reported in a nationwide news program of the public TV station.

And, I thought that as the elder sister had hope for marriage, she refused to receive livelihood protection, since those who receive this type of public assistance are mostly very unlucky young men, middle-aged ex-salaried workers, or unlucky old women.

"there standeth one among you" - Don't Worry About Japan

Tokyo...

Don't Worry About Japan

Japan experienced trade deficit last year for the first time in 31 years.

The 3/11 Tsunami destroyed significant part of the Japanese industrial supply chain; The Japanese exporters are yet to fully recover from the 2008 Financial Crisis; The Japanese society is undergoing aging with population decreasing; The Yen is fixed at such a higher level as would make Japanese TV makers compete with Korean makers in a disadvantageous manner; The budget deficit of the Japanese Government has reached the level of 200% of Japan's GDP.

But, Japan is not on the verge of a catastrophe at all.

First of all, Japan has been the second largest economy, only following the US, in 40 years. It has many assets and resources that have been accumulated over years.  For example, Japan is the largest credit nation in the world.  More than 90% of debts of the Japanese Government are owned by Japanese businesses and Japanese individuals.  And, Japanese businesses have operated and built so many factories, plants, and subsidiary companies in Taiwan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Mexico, Russia, the US, etc.  Japan has contributed to increase in employment and GDP in Taiwan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Mexico, Russia, the US, etc.

You have to regard economic success, at least, in east Asia as part of Japanese economic development.  It is extension of Japanese economic activities.  Or, it is tantamount to viewing success of Anglo-Saxons not only in England but also in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.  Japanese technology has been implanted in Taiwan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Mexico, Russia, the US, etc.

The key issue in Japan is now whether it can contrive and adopt a new economic scheme including national finance.

Put simply, it is if it can find a way to sustain the nation without relying on simply profit-oriented market and balance-oriented taxation.

Japan could avoid becoming a military power to eventually find enemies among Muslims like the US did.  Japan could avoid triggering an international financial crisis like the US did.  Japan must have passed some test of history already.  In this extension, Japan is facing a new challenge, which Western politicians, journalists, and economists cannot understand, since they simply laughed at the lost decade of Japan sometime ago while the US, the EU, and even China are going to suffer their lost decade now.

Anyway Japanese are unique.  Compared with uniqueness of the Japanese race, even Koreans are just a minor variation of the mainstream of mankind who live in the west of the Japanese archipelago.

In terms of DNA, Japanese have a rare property (the special D system or the YAP haplotype block in Y-chromosome)  that can be only found in some Tibetans and can be directly traced to Africa.  It is a very ancient DNA property of mankind.  So, the core of Japanese economy is rooted in this inherent uniqueness of the Japanese race through their unique culture.  Accordingly, Japan has not simply followed rules in economy, culture, and other human activities that have been established by Anglo-Saxons and other European races, though Japan has achieved remarkable success in the modern history of the world.

"And Jesus rebuked him" - Evil Companies

Tokyo Governmental Office District...

Evil Companies

There are bad companies in Japan, too.

One consumer finance company hired a young man who graduated from a university.

He was taught to bring extreme pressure on a client who has stopped paying back.  So, he obeyed the company rule so rigorously.  And in once case he virtually drove a client to committing a suicide.  Then, to him going into shock, his boss said, "Three times!"  The boss said coolly, "Till you experience a suicide of a client three times, you cannot become a full-fledged member in this industry."

Later, one of his clients ran away.  So, the young member of the personal finance company applied extreme pressure on the wife of his client.  As he so frequently made phone calls and visited her home, a tragedy occurred one day.  He visited her home as usual but she spoke only through intercom.  During an outwardly normal conversation, she suddenly stopped talking, and then a big sound was heard through the interphone.  The next moment, the door of the house was flung open; she came out, dashing with a kitchen knife in the hand.  The young man from the shark business was almost stabbed on his chest.  He took to flight into the street.  She was chasing him, grabbing the knife.  He hid at a corner.  She ran to the middle of people walking in a town.  She was captured and sent to a hospital eventually.  The young man and the consumer lending company made her go mad finally.

But, as she tried to stab him, it could be regarded as an attempt of murder.  So, negotiations were conducted between the company and the farther of the poor mad woman whose husband defaulted on his debts and fled somewhere, resulting in no lawsuit but refund by the father.

Then, the young man quit the job.  He became depressed.  He left Tokyo for his home town.  And, now he is engaged in a more quiet job.

It is said that there are two million heavily-indebted persons in Japan.

Japan needs to change its economic system like all the other countries in the world.

*** *** *** ***

Today, almost 48,000 foreigners live in Japan while receiving social aid or welfare payment as they don't find jobs or cannot work.  Among them, 30,000 are South/North Korean residents in Japan.

In this context, Japan might be still a haven in the world, though.

Mar 1:26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

"hid herself five months" - Wonder

Tokyo Subway in Winter...

Wonder

Tonight in a little cloudy sky after snow falling around Tokyo, only Venus and Jupiter could be spotted.

Though the moon couldn't be found in the gray sky tonight, it is the moon that made me feel wonder.  The moon is made of rocks and sands only as everybody knows.  Of course, ice must be somewhere under the surface.  But, it looks like a great mass of rocks.  And, the earth could have become such an astronomical object.  The earth could be another moon, a mass of rocks.

Even in the space around the sun, there were only rocks and gases.  So, anything to be formed around the sun must have been a mass of rocks or gases.  Anyway, if you stand on the surface on the moon, you should think that this is another form of the earth, since the earth could have been just a mass of rocks like the moon.  What I want to say is that there are no hearts, minds, souls, and spirits on the surface of the moon today.  Billions of years ago when the earth was created, there were no hearts, minds, souls, and spirits on the surface of the earth full of rocks, if totally melted badly.

But, now on the earth, there are so many hearts, minds, souls, and spirits. Where did they come? Or minds were included in rocks and gases inherently?  It is big wonder.  If you pick up a stone in the field nearby, you cannot take out a mind from it.  You have to take out water from it and let some elements steep into the water heated to form various organic compounds and protein and finally a living thing.  Then it will evolve into a human being to have a mind.  But can you believe that a human mind can be generated from the stone.  It is big wonder.

Stone -->  Water/Heat --> Organic Compounds --> Protein --> Living Thing --> Human Mind

And, it is a big surprise that the God in order to see a human mind created this universe and rocks and gases, since the heat source sun itself is originally made of a gas hydrogen.

But, now human beings controlled by human minds can manipulate other living things, protein, organic compounds, water/heat, and stones.  It is true wonder, since man cannot reach or manipulate the God in this way.

"the voice of one crying in the wilderness" - The Four Vectors

Tokyo Subway...

The Four Vectors

If Wall Street avarice gets stronger, the sense of belligerence gets stronger, too.

If belligerence becomes dominant, democracy will be forced to concede.

And, with less democracy, it is not expected that Christianity can prevail in this modern era.

In this state, former President Mr. George W. Bush led the U.S. to the War on Terror in 2001.

However, as the US suffered the 2008 Financial Crisis that started from Wall Street, the Wall Street avarice got a little weaker; as Mr. Barack Obama was elected in 2008, democracy got a little stronger, so that it is unlikely that the U.S. and Iran would enter war.

(However after the 1929 Great Depression, Wall Street avarice might not have got weaker enough, leading to the Japanese-US war that started from the Pearl Harbor attack.)

Tokyo has now a snowfall of 4 cm or more than an inch, which is rare in this decade.

By the way, I bought a new digital camera recently.  Could it be realized?

Joh 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
