The Golden Age under the Black Sun

The Golden Age under the Black Sun

Some said, “The golden age was never the present age.”

SETION I: ACADEMNY AWARDS

I don’t know if you have taken it as a miracle: “No Country for Old Men” winning the Academy Award.

As I wrote on Feb 10, 2008, I was moved somewhat by the movie "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" in which Mr. Tommy Lee Jones, as in “No Country for Old Men,” played a key role in the movie story set in a border area to Mexico.

Yet, Mr. Tommy Lee Jones, nowadays well known for his humbly humorous performance in a TV commercial of canned coffee in Japan, might be a symbolic person in a prophetic sense of this Era, since he and Mr. Al Gore “shared a room at Harvard University in Massachusetts as students.”

The Vatican, however, issued a statement criticizing so many violent movies having been nominated for the Academy Awards.

In Japan, everybody concerned hoped that a movie depicting the life of Genghis Khan would win an Award in the category of foreign films, since a Japanese actor played a role of the Mongolian conqueror and creator of the largest and mightiest empire in history.

However, Hitler seems to be still a concern of Americans, as an Austrian film, “The Counterfeiters,” took the Award in the category. Indeed, if a French woman dances in the end of a story, it might be highly appreciated in a US state whose Governor was born in a German speaking state in Europe.

SECTION II: MORELIA, MEXICO

The New York Times reported on a state of a Mexican state on December 18, 2007:

MORELIA, Mexico — Mexico’s country music stars are being killed at an alarming rate — 13 in the past year and a half, three already in December — in a trend that has gone hand in hand with the surge in violence between drug gangs here.

None of the cases have been solved. All have borne the signs of Mexican underworld executions, sending a chill through the ranks of other grupero musicians, who sing to a country beat about love, violence and drugs in modern Mexico….

“Sometimes there is a direct relationship between the musician and the narcotics trafficker,” said Miguel Olmos, a musicologist at the College of the Northern Border in Tijuana. “But also there are a lot of passionate crimes. That is to say, the musician establishes some sort of sentimental relationship with people who are linked to this culture of violence and of narcotics trafficking, and somehow it gets out of hand. They always touch some nerve of the trafficker.”

Mr. Tommy Lee Jones and Mr. Al Gore should turn their attentions and passions to make a film on their poor neighbors singing truly sad songs, if conceived as lively music, without a hope of winning any awards at all.

SECTION III: A RESEARCHER ON HITLER

A retired Japanese worker of a bank read 3,000 books about Hitler while he was working as an ordinary employee.

Based on his personal research, he published a book on Hitler in 2001.

He again published a book on Hitler this year, analyzing what Hitler truly was based on the best related 220 books.

However, he is neither a kind of nerdy admirer of Adolf Hitler nor a member of an extreme right wing party, since his works are all at an academic level supported by a pure intellectual curiosity.

The conclusion the Japanese author Mr. Yoshio Abe wrote in his book is that one of the reasons why there still remains even today a shadow of the past admiration of Hitler is probably what he achieved, no matter how horribly sinful and unforgivable, was on the extension of secular religion and theology in Germany of the Era.

I can say that Germany produced Adolf Hitler and the U.K. offered Charlie Chaplin, both having lived on their paradigms of secularism a difference between which however made an extreme difference.

Yet, if we had had the Messiah, the both would not have found a chance of success.

Conversely, as mankind had not the Messiah in those days, its history had to unfortunately allow Adolf Hitler and Charlie Chaplin to take their chances to test their predetermined fates even if so having been pre-determined in the worst case scenario of history as a pair, though not like the one of Mr. Gore and Mr. Jones.

We have to still reject Hitler while appreciating Chaplin, since we have not yet the Messiah.
* * *

In Japan we have a proverb: “Fact is stranger than fiction.”

The biggest dramas in this decade are of course a conspiracy leading to the death of Princess Diana, a state of the US Government negligently (or partly by intent) having missed a chance to stop the 9/11 Terror, and the US Presidential Primary Elections in 2000 and 2008 in addition to the global influence of the Subprime Loan Problem.

The history probably does not like to include other incidents, such as the US-Iran war or the nuclear warfare in the Korean Peninsula even after the 2008 Olympic Games in China.

As the Prime Minister of Israel and US State Secretary Ms. Condoleezza Rice are now visiting or will soon visit Japan, I hope they will learn something here such as, say, “The Counterfeiters.”

(The God is watching your life.

Your life is a kind of a movie story for Him.

You are a heroine in a play at least the God Almighty is watching.

That is why I am telling you to forget about everything you have ever learnt in this world and just go out and find the Messiah.

Then, your life will be titled “The Messiah.”

Accordingly, I will be satisfied more than seeing you on a movie screen or a TV screen in the still of the night…)
