On Inauguration of New Prime Minister


Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Yukio Hatoyama said that Prime Minister Elected Mr. Naoto Kan is 10 times or 1000 times smarter than he is.

However, it is said that mild P.M. Mr. Hatoyama got angry only once in the office of Prime Minister during his term of nine months when he found this April or so that one of his aid did not tell him the truth about a policy of the U.S. Government on the U.S. Marine Corps' bases in Okinawa, though the aid monopolized the issue at his hand.

An ex-elite-bureaucrat aid to the prime minister could not communicate well with American elite officials. P.M. Mr. Hatoyama, a well-educated celebrity, could not measure ability of his key aid.

Indeed, it is very sad to say that they should have been 10 or 1000 times smarter in dealing with the American military.



SECTION I: The End of Conservatives in Japan?

Japanese Prime Minister Elected Mr. Naoto Kan has, in his 30-year career in politics, neither belonged to, nor supported by the Liberal Democratic Party, the major conservative pro-American party since 1950's.

His assuming office of the premiership of Japan is a very drastic incident in terms of the Japanese political history since the end of WWII or at least since the end of the Vietnam War.

Traditional/conservative-minded or living voters in Japan consistently supported LDP candidates in national elections till August 30, 2009 when then opposition Democratic Party of Japan won 308 seats among total 480 Lower-House seats. The DPJ has many liberal politicians who might be rather regarded as a kind of terrorist supporters by the LDP and traditional establishment, though the 10-year old party has also many pure-conservative politicians. Mr. Naoto Kan is virtually categorized in the former, and Mr. Ichiro Ozawa and Mr. Yukio Hatoyama are virtually in the latter, according to conventional measures.

Therefore, veteran Lower-House lawmaker Mr. Kan is more symbolic as prime minister who indicates the end of conventional conservatives in the Japanese political circles.

It is so, since "Kan-san" is the first and probably last conventional liberal prime minister of Japan who got a real free hand without being tied down by the LDP or established conservatives (unlike the case of socialist premier Mr. Tomiichi Murayama in 1990's). In other word, Mr. Kan must have ever no linkage with U.S. CIA like Mr. Yukio Hatoyama or unlike any of former prime ministers from the LDP. In this context, the 30-8-2009 general election was revolutionary, no matter how humbly.



Conservative and traditional politicians in Japan must change their paradigm, since liberal Mr. Naoto Kan will be soon appointed to the prime minister by the Emperor according to the Constitution.


Note: "Kan" means the plant sedge. "Naoto" means a straight, quick, frank, or righteous man.



SECTION II: People & History or an Individual & History

Apparently people as a mass are flowing along the flow of history.

However, what occupies the mind of an individual has nothing to do with history in a ratio of 50 to 90%.

That is why people as individuals have to face something coming out of the blue like in the case of the Pearl Harbor Attack in 1941, the Assassination of JFK in 1963, and the 9/11 Terror in 2001, while they were eating, drinking, singing, dancing, or making money.

Especially, there are nations far from one another, though people are communicating, trading, and travelling over borders and distances. Things and matters are developing as if independently in each country, but a trend can meet another from a different country through an international channel, leading to conflict of interest.

China progressed with a steep economic growth, owing to great investments and support from Japan and America. Then, at a certain point in time, China emerged as a major international player to the eyes of American and Europeans. Eventually, elite Americans have come to be preoccupied by China in their global view, since China has purchased more American Treasury bonds than Japan around 2009.

In this way, local and unique progress of Chinese economic growth has been suddenly transformed to a significant presence in the world, at least, to American/European elites. So, we may wonder how people and individuals actually think and understand situations, living in this kind of trend of history. Are they prepared enough always?

When observing this movement with a focus on a mass of people, it looks like they all understand the wider situation, since they look like living and behaving reasonably. But, for each individual, it has very limited meaning.

That is why individuals in each country fail in realizing the era and make wrong judgement on international conflict and other issues, sometimes suddenly facing or discovering a new, strange, or unthinkable situation.

The lack of a right sense in history among individuals can be thus very dangerous to the world and the era, since a mass of people look like understanding everything but each individual does not much care about a real state of the world.

In summary, as American individuals failed in fairly coping with the Pearl Harbor Attack in 1941, the Assassination of JFK in 1963, and the 9/11 Terror in 2001, though as a mass of people they looked wise prior to each critical incident, they might be failing now, too, in terms of China and other emerging economies.

Of course, the BP failure in the Gulf of Mexico and the Israeli violence in the sea off Gaza would be put in some places in their world view and historical context by a mass of American people and individuals. If it was done very insufficiently, America might fail in future in handling matters related to those incidents at both the levels of a mass of people and individuals. And accumulation of such failures could lead to another tragedy of a large scale, global scale, or historic scale.

And, I hope that people, including a leader of a nation and an interviewer of any TV station, would discuss this sort of matter with the American President, Mr. Barack Hussein Obama.

There are old Chinese living in Myanmar who fought the great war against the Empire of Japan as soldiers of the National Party in the region around borders between southern China and Myanmar through which American military aid and weapons were conveyed into various parts of China during WWII.

However, as the Chinese Communist Party tried to execute them after the Chinese Civil War, they could not return to their home in China while their leaders moved desperately to Taiwan.

They are now over 80 or 90 years old, still looking like heroes, though some have obtained nationality of Myanmar and their children and grandchildren live there.

Yet, it will be a kind of miracle if China should not suffer another civil war on its land in the 21st century, since there are still old soldiers around borders between southern China and Myanmar.

Nothing Is Worth Claiming Eternity But Words of The God


Japanese Prime Minsiter Mr. Yukio Hatoyama has had many big contradictions.

He however tried to solve one of them by delivering a speech to announce his resignation and his recommendation of resignation of Secretary-General Mr. Ichiro Ozawa of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan.

Now, Prime Minister Elected Mr. Naoto Kan is trying hard to build up his own Cabinet and management team of the DPJ while new contradictions are also growing behind the scene.

Anyway, Mr. Hatoyama has proved that he is a clever man to quit the dangerous work at a critical time, which Former Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso of the Liberal Democratic Party could not, thus decreasing the LDP seats in the Lower House from roughly 300 to 120 in the general election of the last summer.

In terms of justice and ethics, P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama has also proved that he is not so irresponsible as powerful lawmaker Mr. Ichiro Ozawa seems to be.



SECTION I: Naoto Kan Balloted for Prime Minister of Japan

The Lower-House (Shugiin in Japanese) of the National Diet chose Mr. Naoto Kan as the successor of retiring P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama. Mr. Kan of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) will officialy become the 94th premier of Japan since 1885 after being appointed by the Emperor, which is rescheduled to be on June 8, the next Tuesday.

Among 480 members, 313 votes were cast for Mr. Kan.

For the Democratic Party of Japan to secure the powerful two thirds majority, it needs support from the SDP with their seven votes. Incidentally, the head of the Socialist Democratic Party (SDP) got seven votes. But, due to the Mr. Hatoyama's recent decision on the new base of the U.S. Marine Corps in Okinawa, the SDP cancelled the coalition with the DPJ.

However, the approval rating for the DPJ has already jumped up by several points, responding to the announced change in the leadership of the ruling DPJ and the Japanese Cabinet.

Yet, after the difficult Upper House election scheduled in July, lawmaker Mr. Kan has to face the party convention in September when his term as the head of the DPJ is terminated, since he is to just fill the term left by Mr. Hatoyama. It is still unknown if veteran Lower-House member Mr. Naoto Kan will be reelected.

Very veteran Lower-House member Mr. Ichiro Ozawa of the DPJ, who actually forced Prime Minister Mr. Hatoyama to decide his resignation, seems to still keep a strong card.

In addition, the Upper House (Sangiin in Japanese) of the National Diet has also balloted Mr. Naoto Kan for the premier of Japan with 123 votes among 242 seats.

From a certain standpoint, history is movement of the human world where a contradiction is solved tentatively by another contradiction.

An unbearable contradiction in the American society before its independence was solved tentatively by its independence as well as innovation and development.

Yet, resources to be applied to future solutions to any contradictions might be getting scarce and limited.

What then will be the fall of Super-Power America?

No well-educated Japanese hate America from the bottom of their heart, if they live a rich life especially around Tokyo.

Accordingly, you cannot rely on Japanese politicians if you are going to launch war against America from somewhere on the earth some day.

SECTION I: Ozawa, Hatoyama, & Kan

Mr. Ichiro Ozawa (1942-) could have been Japanese Prime Minister in October 2008, unless the Lehman Shock had happened, since he was the head of the Democratic Party of Japan at the time.

In late September 2008, then Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso was about to dissolve the Lower House, though he could not in fact due to the Lehman Shock and some shocking survey results predicting big loss of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party in the expected Lower-House election.

If the Lehman Shock had occurred a few weeks later or in October 2008, the general election must have been launched by then P.M. Mr. Aso of the LDP, resulting in victory of Mr. Ozawa and the DPJ. Accordingly, Mr. Ozawa should have been nominated as prime minister of Japan.

In reality, several months later, while Mr. Aso was painfully struggling in coping with a falling approval rating of his Cabinet, a political fund scandal surfaced around 40-year-long politician Mr. Ozawa, which forced him to step down from the top position of the party in May 2009. (It is also interesting that Secretary Mrs. Hillary Clinton visited Tokyo and met with Mr. Ozawa in February 2009.) Then, Mr. Yukio Hatoyama (1947-) was elected as the head of the DPJ. Mr. Hatoyama chose his younger rival Mr. Katsuya Okada as Secretary-General of the party, going into the general election held on August 30, 2009, eventually to win the big victory.

Yet, if Mr. Ozawa had not decided to step down due to an arrest of his secretary on suspicion of illegal reporting of a political fund, Mr. Ozawa should have assumed the premiership after the election. Indeed, general expectations for the regime change among the Japanese people were so strong and hot that even Mr. Ozawa leading the DPJ should have been able to win the drastic summer election.

So, it is a kind of miracle that Mr. Ichiro Ozawa is now not prime minister of Japan.

As Mr. Yukio Hatoyama decided yesterday to step down from the premiership due to his too-low approval rating while the Upper House election is scheduled this summer, everybody thinks that Mr. Naoto Kan (1946-) will be elected to the head of the DPJ in its convention tomorrow and subsequently as prime minister of Japan in the National Diet on the same day or so.

Before Mr. Ichiro Ozawa joined the DPJ several years ago, the DPJ had been mostly managed by Mr. Hatoyama, the key founder of the party in terms of political funds, along with Mr. Kan, a kind of popular, liberal politician since his graduation of the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1970.

The human relationships between Mr. Ozawa, Mr. Hatoyama, and Mr. Kan must be of the most interesting concerns for professionals in the Japanese politics. Mr. Ozawa and Mr. Hatoyama are sons of successful politicians. But, Mr. Kan is simply an ex-liberal student of the era of the Vietnam War.

No matter how amateur Mr. Kan might look in comparison with establishment politicians, including Mr. Taro Aso, of the LDP that enjoyed power for 50 years or more till the last fall, Mr. Naoto Kan is from ordinary backgrounds of the Japanese society, thus being more trusted by ordinary voters.

Anyway, the story of the regime change in Japan has entered the second phase with the yesterday's public announcement of his resignation by P.M. Mr. Hatoyama (whose celebrity-natured flying over Nagata Cho District is thus coming to an end).

In my personal opinion, the DPJ should not elect their new head as prime minister of Japan this time. Instead, the DPJ lawmakers should ballot Mr. Shizuka Kamei of the People's New Party for the new prime minister, since senior lawmaker Mr. Kamei is now a Cabinet minister in charge of managing the internationally controversial Japan's postal service sector while he has been a big rival for ex-prime minister Mr. Junichiro Koizumi of the LDP who led Japan in a tie up with ex-president Mr. George W. Bush in the aftermath of the 9/11 Terror.

(However, I do not feel like saying, "Bye-Bye Hatoyama Junichiro!")

In summary, in Japan, it is still in an era of those who graduated from school in the era of the Vietnam War.



SECTION II: Advantage in History

Those who lived in a peripheral region to the center of civilization of an era could have sometimes great advantage.

One outstanding example is Alexander the Great.

Without great cultural backgrounds based on the ancient Greek Civilization, the great troops and legions of Alexander the Great should not have been so built up.

The deeper nation's cultural backgrounds are, the stronger its troops can be.

However, such a nation must be situated rather in a peripheral area to the center of civilization.

In this context, the Roman Empires was situated in a peripheral area to Greece in a wider scope than in the case of Alexander the Great.

England, Germany, and Russia were also situated in peripheral areas to the center of Europe before the 20th century, since the Vatican continued to stay in Rome.

America was, too, situated in a quite peripheral area to whole Europe in a far wider scope than in the case of Alexander the Great, the Roman Empire, and modern England, Germany, and Russia.

The same goes for Japan. That is one of answers to the question, why were Japanese troops so strong during WWII?

It is not bad to change the prime minister of a nation every year through democratic process.

It is democracy itself.

People and voters are executing their power.

Conversely, it is very dangerous, strange, and evil to allow one man to stay in the highest position in the government for years like in America and other nations.

SECTION I: Will Hatoyama Quit?

If P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama should step down immediately, 10 or more candidates of the ruling DPJ will be elected in the coming national election of Japan to choose 121 new Upper House members.

Indeed, if Former Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso should have stepped down before the national election in 2009, 40 or more candidates of the then ruling LDP must have been elected to secure at least one third of the total 480 Lower-House seats, though the LDP got only 119 seats which was 180 seats down from previously occupied about 300 seats.

No matter what a prime minister says, he will never have compassion for weak candidates in his party. Mr. Hatoyama is, like Mr. Aso, trying to stay in the position of premier as long as possible, thus causing big troubles to scores of candidates from his own party.

They are thus not a hero, since they sacrifice scores of lawmakers just to save their face.

If Mr. Taro Aso should have resigned before the 2009-30-8 election for Japan, Mr. Yukio Hatoyama should resign, too, before the expected 2010-11-7 election for Japan.

Lower-House lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Japan Mr. Yukio Hatoyama should not think that he would enjoy life after leaving politics when he quits the premiership three or four years later. But, he should resign now and help his party for many years to come as one of senior members of the party.

You must be content with one time experience of being in charge of national budget compilation as prime minister, since Japan is a great country as the visiting Chinese Prime Minister so admits and praises publicly in Tokyo.




SECTION II: Salary vs. Dividends

Japanese businesses have well survived and operated over the so-called "lost decade" in 1990's and the so-called "another lost decade" in 2000's.

But, as a salary level of their employees was suppressed lower, a strong deflationary pressure happened in the whole society. However, businesses have secured reasonable profits through these periods. Then, where has the money gone? Indeed, it has gone to shareholders in the form of cash dividends.

The above figure clearly tells how deflation in Japan has progressed as the Bank of Japan discussed.

In other word, a huge amount of money to be paid to Japanese workers and to be collected by the Japanese tax offices has been partially accumulated by company management and partially transferred to the financial sector in New York and London.

P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama wrote some before assuming the office of prime minister eight months ago about his negative judgment on Wall Street. But, before he is in earnest tackling this issue, Mr. Hatoyama has lost confidence among Japanese voters and workers, probably because he is a billionaire with many personal assets operated in the stock market, unlike poor Okinawa people living around harassing U.S. military bases.

Anyway, remember if only one man has $100 trillion, economy is not possible.

If 12 men share $100 trillion, economy starts to emerge.

If 10 billion people share $100 trillion, even economics starts to look possible.

Insidious Strategy

The head of the Social Democratic Party of Japan is a female Upper-House member who is also a lawyer and a graduate of University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law.

Before she was recruited by the Party, she had often made TV appearances as a liberal lawyer.

A lawyer, TV appearances, and then a politician elected by many voters or audiences seem to be a fast track for some ambitious youths in Japan, which however must be sternly checked nowadays, since the head of the Social Democratic Party of Japan might be acting as the coup de grace to the Japanese prime minister.

SECTION I: The Hatoyama Cabinet

The approval rate for the Hatoyama Cabinet has fallen to 17% according to a survey by The Asahi Shimbun newspaper, a kind of liberal paper.

The direct factor is a decision by Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama to fire a Cabinet minister from one of ruling parties, the Social Democratic Party, due to her refusal to endorse Mr. Hatoyama's decision on relocation of U.S. Marine Corps' base within the Okinawa Island, though Okinawa people want it out of the southern island.

P.M. Mr. Hatoyama of the Democratic Party of Japan promised several months before that he would settle this national security issue by acquiring consent from the two other ruling parties. But, instead, he drove out the minister from the SDP out of the Cabinet, as her presence meant discord in opinion among Cabinet members while the Constitution requests the complete accord in making a Cabinet decision.

However, the prime minister seems to be determined to surmount the situation into the summer Upper House election. He seems to be also trying to detach himself from the most powerful DPJ politician Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, a 40-year long lawmaker, who has been acting like a virtual boss to Mr. Hatoyama for many years. This movement was however predicted by notable journalist Mr. Soichiro Tahara who met the prime minister several weeks ago.

Practically, it is very difficult to force the prime minister of Japan to resign, though it is at any time possible by law: Convene a Lower-House assembly and vote for a no-confidence motion against the Cabinet, if passed, which would force resignation of the prime minister or allow him to dissolve the Lower House for election asking judgement by the people.

So long as the prime minister keeps a majority support from ruling parties, a no-confidence motion against the Cabinet cannot be passed if submitted by the Opposition, no matter how his approval rate has dropped.

But, if the prime minister, like the case of Mr. Hatoyama, takes the direct reigns only on one eighth of all the national lawmakers in his party (actually 56/423), he can be ousted from the position of the head of the party. Then, his confidence will be surely voted down in the Lower House, since even members of his party would join the non-confidence.

The world thought eight months ago Mr. Yukio Hatoyama was a true Japanese hero when his party took over power from the Liberal Democratic Party, a very conservative and pro-American, old party. But now, 80% of Japanese voters have come to think that he thinks too light of significance of politics. His words never touch hearts of ordinary Japanese any more, though his words are mild and his manner is gentle.

In my view, it will be very difficult for P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama to continue his way while he and his party have a kind of insulted elite bureaucrats for real in these months under the banner of superiority of lawmakers over government officials, a sort of the last remnants of the Empire of Japan that faded away with the end of WWII.


SECTION II: An Account on Okinawa

The Okinawa islands are closer to Shanghai than to Kyoto or Tokyo.

The Imperial myths of Japan (the Yamato court) have no reference to Okinawa. Okinawa had its own king till 1879.

However, Okinawa people belong to the Japanese race in terms of history spanning over 10,000 years; their dialects and the other mainland dialects constitute together the Japanese language.

Yet, it is the region that has the least tie with the Imperial tradition of Japan (since the establishment of the Yamato regime around the third to the fifth century).

Thus, when the Ninetieth Imperial Diet had met in 1946 to accept the new "peace" constitution, not a single representative of Okinawa was present.

As you see, in Japan, if you work as a permanent employee in a company where 100 to 999 people are employed, you can receive a reasonable amount of salary, say $3000 per month.

But, if you work as a non-permanent employee in a company where less than 300 people are employed, you just only receive a one-third of normal salary, say $1000 per month.

If non-permanent workers in small/medium businesses increase in a number, deflation will surely happen.

It is a core of deflation in Japan, though an unemployment rate in Japan is now half in America.

Ten years ago, there were 5.07 million non-large companies in Japan.
Today, there are 4.20 million non-large companies in Japan.

Ten years ago, there were 43.19 million non-large company workers in Japan.
Today, there are 41.98 million non-large company workers in Japan.

Ten years ago, there were $307 billion sales for non-large companies in Japan.
Today, there are $171 billion sales for non-large companies in Japan.

Sales of small and middle-size companies in Japan has fallen by almost 40% in this decade.

This is a core of of deflation in Japan, though an unemployment rate in Japan is now half in America.

And, it is all for competition in the global market where Japanese, European, and American players can use Chinese and Asian subcontractors to leverage very low wages of workers.

As a consequence, products and consumer goods are only sold at an inexpensive price levels in the Japanese market, resulting in less sales in terms of value and generating a downward pressure on salary for Japanese workers. Businesses inevitably adopts a strategy to hire more non-permanent workers, reducing a number of regular employees. All these movements have caused a great deficit in tax revenue of the Government over years.

In deflation, however, Japanese large businesses can well survive just by sacrificing benefits of workers and small and medium businesses. Yet, it is turned into one of the factors which have allowed for the regime change in the summer of 2009.

So, it is true that the Bank of Japan cannot solve this deflation, but the Japanese Government can.

SECTION II: Evolution of Evil

One big mystery is that a bad man can succeed in business to be very rich, while the God or Allah tells people not to be rich.

A bad man doing evil tryings with an aim to become rich can be sometimes actually very rich.

Other poor people see his success and start to imitate the bad man, while the God or Allah tells them not to be rich.

As a result, there would be no one in this world that believes in the God or Allah, while the world will be filled only with rich men and poor men who have failed to be rich or who are yet to be rich.

The God or Allah does not immediately punish or destroy a bad man trying to be rich, while following some social rules at least outwardly. Or, a bad man who was given such a fate before his birth might live long trying to be rich till the time the God set to dispose of him.

Need for survival, requirement for social living, desire for emotional and physical satisfaction, and the will to win in any competition would push a man step by step to acceptance of riches.

Indeed, it is very interesting to see how the God or Allah decides a limit to allowable wealth for each individual, beyond which he or she will be sentenced to eternal death.

I think Okinawa people are now happy as the U.S. Marines' air base is decided to be moved or relocated from the Futenma residential area to a coastal lot annexed to a U.S. Marines' camp.

This is the first step. And, the second step is to take away unnecessary areas for U.S. military operation from the U.S. military bases and camps in Okinawa.

Aid and financial compensation to Okinawa people must be doubled or tripled, since they contribute so much to national security of Japan.

Nonetheless, there are so many poor people in Tokyo who are not so foolish to be servants of Mammon.

Today, Prime Minister of Japan fired a Cabinet minister who did not support his plan to relocate a U.S. Marine air base from a very populated town to a coastal area, though, within the Okinawa Island.

The fired minister is head of the Social Democratic Party, so that Mr. Hatoyama's Democratic Party of Japan might lose one allied party from the ruling coalition.

And, voters who have observed this defocused drama today might be determined what to do in the coming Upper House election, since the urgent issue is safety of residents living around the present U.S. Marines' base at Futenma.

Anyway, P.M. Mr. Hatoyama proudly said that President Mr. Barack Obama thanked him over the phone for fixing the matter as the prime minister had promised earlier setting voluntarily a deadline at the end of May.

This is a big news in Japan today.

Power Games

In the coming Upper House election in Japan, homepage and blog updating during the election campaign period is allowed by law for the first time.

So far, no update has been allowed in Japan if a politician who runs Web sites is a candidate for election. Voters see only fixed and unchanged contents in Web sites run by candidates till election is over.

But, a new law is to be passed soon, changing IT-based election tactics in Japan.

One focus is how access numbers and hit numbers will reflect election situations and predict results.

There are many arguments about comparison between the Roman Empire and America.

Both the powers have had no rival in terms of military strength and material wealth in the era of their dominance, respectively.

The Roman Empire was originally a local military state on the Italian Peninsula. But, it developed along with military success to include ancient Greece. The Empire was eventually regarded as an authentic successor of the ancient Greek Civilization.

America was originally a land of colonies which got independence and expanded its own territory through an unending series and succession of wars. However, it has been regarded as an authentic co-successor of traditional European Civilization as with the modern Europe.

Just like the Roman Empire was supported and respected due to the ancient Greek Civilization, America has been supported and respected due to traditional European Civilization.

Ancient people outside the Roman Empire came to admire strong troops of the Roman Empire and its sophisticated application of the ancient Greek Civilization. Accordingly, they wanted to get citizenship of the Empire and serve it as soldiers.

Modern people outside America today admire strong military capability of America and its sophisticated application of traditional European Civilization. Accordingly, they want to get citizenship of America if they have to serve it as soldiers.

The Roman Empire was so gloriously shining in the ancient world, specifically as observed from the north of the Alps, the south of the the Mediterranean, and the east of Greece and Palestine.

America has been so gloriously shining in the world of today, specifically as observed from the south of Mexico and Cuba, the east of the Atlantic, and the west of the Pacific.

But, there is one big difference: In the ancient world, if a village did not want to join the glory of the Roman Empire, it could still subsist on self-sufficient economy.

Yet today, if a nation does not want to join the glory of America, it cannot subsist due to globalization of economy and the status of the American dollar as the key currency.

Another difference is in the rise of Islam in the era of decline and fall of the Roman Empire but the dependency of Islamic nations on America today.

When the Roman Empire lost the past glory, being disintegrating, villages in neighboring regions could sustain themselves and Islam provided great protection to people living in the east of the Empire, while preserving ancient Greek Civilization in lieu of the Roman Empire. Those surviving elements paved the way for a new era after the Roman Empire disappeared.

Today, it is still unclear whether or how America will lose its glory. And, it is more unclear who and what will come after American power disappears.

Yet, the key to analysing the trend of history seems to be globalization of economy and the status of the American dollar as the key currency.

In fact, China diverted its investment from Wall Street to the domestic real estate market, causing a quasi-bubble now.

It is very likely that China baffled the recent American missionary to Beijing led by Secretary Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Geithner probably requesting more investment into America.

So, Japanese way of judgment on human value is the most matured as conforming to the teaching of the God and Allah.

Japan can thus lead the world so long as it is faithful to this judgment.

Who Respects America Who Respects China Who Respects Dollars?

China is now so much respected by America, since China has earned a huge amount of dollars through trade.

But, most of exporting companies in China are foreign-capital companies who account for 60% in terms of trade value.



The America-China alliance, based on dollars China accumulated through trade, will not result in enhancement of Chinese society to high-quality democracy and freedom.

It will rather result in degrading of American businesses to affiliation with dictatorship.

America will lose the status of a flagman leading and spreading democracy and justice in the world.

Everything and everyone lionizing the America-China G2 system are losing respect not only from Japan but also from Asian countries, including Islamic nations.

For another example, North Korea has developed nuclear weapons as everybody knows. But, it is not for war with South Korea or America. N. Korea needs nuclear weapons so as to be respected by China. N. Korea's nuclear bombs are a means of deterrent policy against Chinese interference and influence on Pyongyang.

The point at issue is that China has never done anything to save tens of millions of starving North Koreans since 1990's, while China was receiving a great amount of aid from Japan and China regards N. Korea as its own defense line against America.

Coach of Japan's National Soccer Team Mr. Okada reportedly talked about his possible resignation with top executives of the Japan Football Association who however asked Mr. Okada to continue his duty heading for South Africa.

Indeed, his failure, losing twice the game against South Korea in a year, deserves his immediate resignation, according to some commonsense in Japan and South Korea.

On the other hand, Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama shows no inclination to resignation while he publicly announced a month ago or so that he would get, at the risk of his position, agreement on the U.S. Marine-base relocation issue from all the parties concerned including Okinawa people, which he is unable to get so far.

It is very interesting that Shanghai stock index started to fall drastically one year before the Lehman Shock.

Until the middle of 2006, the Chinese Government seems to have controlled the Shanghai stock transactions. But, it seems to have changed its policy, responding to requests from America. When Shanghai could not help sustain the American mortgage bubble, it started to fall. But, when Wall Street started to collapse in September 2008, the Chinese Government seems to have taken some measures so as to make the market flip.

Tonight, the Japan's national soccer team led by coach Mr. Takeshi Okada was defeated by the South Korean national team: 0-2.

There were voices requesting the change of the coach several months ago, when Mr. Okada failed to win some international matches.

But, today, nobody is calling the change any more as the Japan Football Association is determined to go to South Africa with coach Mr. Takeshi Okada.
