In 2007, Japanese scientists of RIKEN and the University of Tokyo discovered for the first time in history that thunder clouds work as a particle accelerator as they detected gamma rays from thunder clouds that were generated in a poor-weather coastal area of the Sea of Japan in winter.  However intensity of this gamma ray observed in their thunder clouds is 200 million times smaller that that of a chest X-ray.

In addition, a gamma ray is used for sterilization of medical devices, since the ray is light (electromagnetic waves) with higher energy.  And it is one of components of radiation doses released from a crippled reactor.

SECTION I: Tokyo Radiation Dose Data

Let's confirm correct data on radiations doses measured at Shinjuku in Tokyo between March to May.

It settled at less than 0.1 micro Sieverts per hour since April (actually around 0.05).  It is equal to less than 0.9 mili Sieverts per year while an international standard is 1 mili Sieverts per year for ordinary environment.  According to WHO, an ordinary person receves 3 mili Sieverts of doses per year from natural sources of radioactivity in the world.  So, Tokyo is as safe as New York and London interns of radioactivity levels.

SECTION II: Fukushima-Daiichi Adjacent Community Dose Data


It is not so low.  It is over a safety limit the Japanese Government sets at 20 mili Sieverts per year.

In the above figure, pink is for Iidate Village, blue for Fukushima City, and green for Minami-Soma City.  The unit is micro Sieverts.  The doses in Iidate Village was still 3 micro Sieverts even in August.  It is equal to more than 25 mili Sieverts per year, while an international criterion for accepted doses is 20 mili Sieverts per year.  Nonetheless, it is reported that a higher level of radioactivity, say 10 or 50 micro Sierverts per hour or 100 to 500 mili Sieverts per year,  is measured at many hot spots around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, especially in fields.

Accordingly, all the agricultural activities in the village are stopped following instructions of the Japanese Government. Every type of agricultural products produced in Fukushima Prefecture and other neighboring regions are monitored and checked to assess a radiation level.  No contaminated agricultural products are allowed to be delivered to market.  Japan never exports contaminated agricultural products to the world.

In April 1942, the Imperial Navy of Japan overwhelmed the British, Australian, and Dutch Navies in the Indian Ocean.

The Indian Ocean raid was a naval sortie by the Fast Carrier Strike Force of the Imperial Japanese Navy from 31 March - 10 April 1942 against Allied shipping and bases in the Indian Ocean. It was an early engagement of the Pacific campaign of World War II. The Japanese under Chuichi Nagumo compelled the Allied (largely Royal Navy) forces to retreat to East Africa, leaving the Japanese unopposed in the Indian Ocean.

The purpose for this naval operations is for the Empire of Japan to secure its occupation of crude oil fields in Indonesia and other regions with natural resources, since the U.S. had imposed economic embargo against the Empire months before Pearl Harbor in 1941.

 (At the time the Empire imported 70% or more crude oil from the U.S.  Before the Imperial fleets depleted and lost their fuel, the Empire had to take some action to get crude oil somewhere else.  It was Indonesia under colonial rule of the Netherlands that had oil fields.  And, the British forces around Singapore and the U.S. fleets in Pearl Harbor were major obstacles for the Japanese Empire that were being driven to the corner.  So, the U.S. and the U.K. knew before Pearl Harbor that the Empire would move to the south, specifically to Indonesia, for crude oil sooner or later with its naval forces.)

Essentially, the Navy of the Empire of Japan before WWII was operated and maintained according to an idea that their fleets would wait and encounter advancing U.S. fleets near the Japanese Archipelago in case.  It planned to follow the success of the great naval battle around the Tsushima Islands in the Sea of Japan against the Russian Navy in 1905.  The Imperial Navy and  Army had from the beginning no idea to advance, invade, and occupy Hawaii, California, or any part of the U.S., though they took the U.S. colonized Philippines and some islands in the Aleutian Islands.

So, there was a great inconsistency in the military operation of the Empire against the U.S., since the Empire had basically no plan to occupy any part of the U.S.  But, one thing clear is that they needed crude oil in Indonesia.  Accordingly, as the U.S. tried to stop the Empire from obtaining crude oil, U.S. Naval fleets in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, must have been destroyed to any degree, which was of course an act of unreasonableness.

There are 15 nuclear reactors in four nuclear power generation plants on the coast line of the northeast part of Honshu Island of Japan facing the North Pacific Ocean.


Or there are 15 nuclear power plants northeast of Tokyo on the Pacific Coast areas in the main island of Japan.  But, only four nuclear reactors in the Fukushima Daiichi plant failed.  Especially three reactors of the Onagawa plant situated closer to the epicenter of the M9.0 earthquake, which occurred on March 11, in the Pacific Ocean could stand even a 15-meter high  tsunami.  Four reactors of the Fukushima Daini plant situated near Fukushima Daiichi could survive the earthquake and the tsunami, too.


In general, Japanese nuclear reactors are robust to natural disasters.  Specifically, Japanese-designed nuclear reactors are robust even against the greatest natural disaster that could happen once in 1000 years.   Only unlucky four reactors in the Fukushima Daiichi plant (some of which were designed by U.S. GE) lost emergency power generators due to a 15-meter high tsunami for some errors and omissions of the power company and a government regulation body.


By the way, Toshiba, one of major makers in the Japanese nuclear industry, is reportedly said to increase its share in U.S. Westinghouse, a nuclear power engineering company, from 67% to 87%.   It might reflect some truth and reality of the Fukushima Daiichi accident.


SECTION I: News of Today in Japan


1) Japan has now foreign currency reserves of $1.2 trillion.  Some Nobel-Prize-class American economists a few moths ago proudly said, "You know China has now $1 trillion cash!" though.  Indeed, till 2010 or so Japan was the largest holder of U.S. Treasury bonds for decades.  As long as  Nobel-Prize-class American economists continue to praise China, the American unemployment rate will stay around 9%.


2) Former Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Naoto Kan started his campaign to justify himself in terms of his handling of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident.  Mr. Kan told newspapers that he was right but the Tokyo Electric Power Company was wrong.  Bureaucrats did not transfer instructions and collect information on the situation in an efficient manner.  He blamed others and would not admit his responsibility.

3) According to a recent survey conducted by AP and GfK, Japanese respondents who like America account for 49%, Germany 48%, and South Korea 31%, while those who dislike North Korea 94%, China 76%, and Israel 44% and Russia 44%.  In addition, Japanese respondents who regard China as a threat to the world peace account for 73% and North Korea 80%.  Finally those who support Japanese commercial whaling account for 52%, but those who want to eat whale meat for themselves account for just 33% of all the respondents.


SECTION II: An Article in Today's Japanese Newspaper


A certain newspaper reported today that thousands of Pakistanis have been arrested, detained, and probably sent to U.S. facilities, such as those in Guantanamo, or executed after the 9/11 Terror. 


The U.S. Government forced the Pakistani Government to take the side of America or that of AlQaeda or the Taliban in the wake of the 9/11 Terror.   So, the Pakistani Government joined the U.S. in the War on Terror.  Then, the Pakistani police and  officers started to arrest many innocent Pakistani citizens to hand them over to American agents or authorities in return for some money.


Today, even after Osama bin Laden was taken on by American commandos, the situation of families of missing Pakistanis in the above context has not been improved.  In other word, a happy and peaceful life of every American citizen is made possible with this sacrifice of pious Muslims in Pakistan.


Incidentally, due to hard work of a certain body of those families and the supreme court of Pakistan, some 400 Pakistani citizens were allowed to return to their families from prisons in these five years.   But, it is said that most of them are suffering the aftereffects of physical and psychological abuse they experienced in prisons.


Allah will, I am afraid, turn a judging eye to some Americans and Pakistanis.

The Greater East Asia Conference, an international summit hosted by the Empire of Japan, was held in Tokyo in  November 1943.


The Conference was intended by the Imperial Government of Japan to get support from other Asian nations and thus justify its military presence in East Asia after the Pearl Harbor attack.  However, the main reason for Japanese occupation of European colonies in East Asia was to get crude oil and other natural resources the Empire could not import any longer from the U.S.  Anyway, the Conference was held with participants from Manchukuo, part of China, Burma, Free India, the Philippines, and Thailand.

It is a kind of logical consequences of the Empire's exercising military power which had strength to drive out any Western powers from Asia, except the U.S.  And as the history proved, Asian peoples started to fight for their independence after WWII.  Maybe, the Vietnam War was the last one of such movements since the U.S. took the helm in South Vietnam after France was defeated and left Indochina in 1954.


So, one significant historical question is who gave courage to Asian peoples who started to fight for their independence from the U.K., France, the Netherlands, and the U.S. after WWII.  The Empire of Japan or the U.S.?

Japan was hit by an M9.0 earthquake and 15-meter high tsunamis along northeast coast lines of Honshu Island in March.  Then, in the past week, a big typhoon destroyed many local communities in the Kii Peninsula of west Japan, taking scores of lives.


The U.S. also suffered a rare earthquake around Washington DC, big floods along the Mississippi River, and then Hurricane Irene on the East Coast.

SECTION I: The Century of Wars


It is true that it was not so easy for the Empire of Japan to surrender to the United States in August 1945 before the Empire knew that the U.S. had already developed atomic bombs and used them in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The Potsdam Declaration or the Proclamation Defining Terms for Japanese Surrender is a statement calling for the Surrender of Japan in World War II. On July 26, 1945, United States President Harry S. Truman,United Kingdom Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and Chairman of the Nationalist Government of China Chiang Kai-shek issued the document, which outlined the terms of surrender for the Empire of Japan as agreed upon at the Potsdam Conference. This ultimatum stated that, if Japan did not surrender, it would face "prompt and utter destruction."... 

The only mention of "unconditional surrender" came at the end of the declaration:
"We call upon the government of Japan to proclaim now the unconditional surrender of all Japanese armed forces, and to provide proper and adequate assurances of their good faith in such action. The alternative for Japan is prompt and utter destruction." Contrary to what had been intended at its conception, the declaration made no mention of the Emperor at all. Allied intentions on issues of utmost importance to the Japanese, including whether Hirohito was to be regarded as one of those who had "misled the people of Japan" or even a war criminal, or alternatively whether the Emperor might potentially become part of a "peacefully inclined and responsible government" were thus left unstated.

The key point of discussions among the elite of the Empire of Japan in the summer of 1945 was whether the Emperor could be protected and free from possible punishment by the U.S. on the Imperial Army and Navy or the Imperial government.  "Will America try to abolish the imperial family if we surrender?" is the most important question for generals and politicians of the Empire who were forced to decide surrender or battles on Japanese proper (mainland Japan).   

However, the fact that America had developed and used atomic bombs as well as some profound implications in the Potsdam Declaration led to decision of unconditional surrender of the Imperial  military.  Most of the then Japanese leaders and elite thought that the Potsdam Declaration implied that the imperial family would be allowed to continue to preside in the nation of Japan.  Accordingly, Showa Emperor  himself announced to the nation through radio broadcasting that the Empire would surrender on August 15, 1945.

Yet, from the beginning there was a question as to whether or not President Roosevelt thought that the Empire of Japan would never venture into war with the United States no matter how much the U.S. took a tough stance against the Empire having been engaged in war in the Chinese continent for some years.  As the Empire did not withdraw its troops from China, the U.S. government froze Japanese assets in America and stopped export of crude oil to Japan.  The U.S. was taking a hostile policy to the Empire while the Empire tried to maintain friendly relationship with the U.S.  

Did Roosevelt really think that he had to make the Empire start war with America, since the U.S. needed to join the U.K. in the war against Nazi Germany, while Nazi Germany forged a military alliance with the Empire of Japan, though the German Government had provided military support for China in 1930's?  The elite of the Empire of Japan knew that America's GDP was ten times and more larger than the Empire's; there was no chance for the Empire to win a possible war against the U.S.  But, the Roosevelt Administration increased economic and political pressure on Japan through 1940 and  1941 till the Pearl Harbor Attack.

It is said that there were some leaders in the U.S. at the time who did not think that the Empire of Japan would militarily challenge the U.S., since the gap in industrial power  between the two countries was so large at the time.  If President Roosevelt had shared the same view with such an American elite, how would the Roosevelt Administration have joined the U.K. for the war against Hitler?   Only if the Empire of Japan had started war against the U.S., the U.S. could declare war against the Empire's ally Germany in addition to the Empire of Japan.

On August 28, 1941, Japanese Ambassador to the U.S. Kichisaburo Nomura handed a message from Japanese Prime Minister Fumimaro Konoe to President Roosevelt, since Konoe wanted a summit meeting with Roosevelt to avoid a possible war between the two countries.  The president praised contents of the letter and virtually agreed to hold a summit meeting with Konoe.  But, Secretary of State Cordell Hull was reluctant to support the idea of the Japan-America summit meeting to avoid a possible war between the U.S. and the Empire of Japan.  As days went by, Roosevelt also became reluctant to meet Japanese P.M. Konoe.  On October 2, 1941, the U.S. State Department informed Tokyo that the U.S. Government would reject the proposal for the summit meeting of the U.S. president and the Japanese prime minister.  Accordingly, on October  18, 1941, Konoe resigned as prime minister.  Though Konoe was a politician from a noble family, the one who succeeded Konoe was a career military man, Army General Hideki Tojo.  And, actually Tojo ordered, authorized, or (most probably reluctantly) consented to carry out the Pearl Harbor attack in Hawaii, the U.S., on December 8, 1941 (JAPAN TIME).

At the time, the American public was very reluctant to join the U.K. in the war against Nazi Germany.  Hitler was also careful not to invite the U.S. into the European theater of WWII.  But, the English, Judaists and Russians as well as Chinese were desperately hoping for American's engagement in wars against Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan.  So, spies in Washington DC were deeply penetrating into the U.S. Government.  Under their influence, it is apparent that some key officials in the Roosevelt Administration got determined to drive the Empire of Japan into the corner.  If the Empire had not been able to import crude oil from the U.S., it would take by force oil fields in Indonesia having been colonized by the Netherlands; then inevitably a war would start for the Empire with the Netherlands, the U.K. and eventually the U.S.  So, the English, Judaists and Russian communists as well as the Chinese elite all wanted the U.S. to drive the Empire of Japan into the corner and finally into war, even months before Pearl Harbor. 


But, was it so easy and safe to manipulate the Empire of Japan in 1941 based on the assumption that the U.K. and the U.S. would be able to crush the Imperial troops, fleets, and air squadrons in months so easily?

I happened to watch a Japanese cable TV program of a dialogue between Mr. Susumu Nishibe, an ex-professor of the University of Tokyo, and Mr. Makoto Sataka, a leftist critic.


Mr. Nishibe said, "Though I am older than the Beatles generation, I am interested in that three of the four Beatles are originally from Ireland.  It is a big success story for them to be rewarded a British decoration, since Ireland was once colonized by the U.K."


So, their songs might sound as if based on Catholic passion.


Anyway, Mr. Nishibe does not respect European and American rich men, as he is now very conservative and patriotic, though he was once an anti-Japan-U.S. security alliance (namely anti-establishment) student around 1960.   No matter how intellectual a Japanese might be, he could be patriotic and anti-European/American if he does not fully study Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.  Yet, an intellectual elite like Mr. Nishibe is a minority in the Japanese society.

There are many people in the world whose nations were once colonized by the U.K.  For example, from the U.S. to Singapore and Myanmar to India, the Britons were once their colonial master.

It should be also noted that John F. Kennedy, Jr. and his wife were  killed when their private plane crashed off the coast of Martha's Vineyard in July 1999.

The two tragic incidents must have however impressed Osama bin Laden as nature of the British/American civilization: conspiracies everywhere.  He must have lost respect for the U.K. and the U.S.  It must have given Osama bin Laden a sense of superiority since he thought that he was a pious Muslim.  At least psychologically, the two tragic incidents involving Princess Diana and JFK Jr. must have led Osama bin Laden to taking a bolder plan in his war against the U.S. and the U.K.  So, the 9/11 attack plan must have been welcomed by him.

Once when Japan was directly governed by the imperial court, some emperors of Japan respected Buddhism so much.

So, they decided to build a national Buddhist temple (called Kokubuji) in each state within the empire.  At the time, namely in the 8th century, Tokyo belonged to a state called Musashi.  And, the Musashi Kokubuji (national temple) was built in today's Kokubuji City of Tokyo Prefecture.  The temple had a seven-story pagoda in addition to other sacred buildings.

The singer and songwriter Morrissey has told the BBC he believes the Royal family are benefit scroungers who do not speak for England.  

Reporting on BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast, Colin Paterson said the former lead singer of The Smiths called the future Mrs Windsor 'Kate Muddleton'. 

"Why would I watch the wedding?" Morrissey asked. "I do seriously believe that they are benefit scroungers, nothing else."

Prince of Wales and Repulse were the first capital ships to be sunk solely by air power on the open sea (albeit by land-based rather than carrier-based aircraft), a harbinger of the diminishing role this class of ships was subsequently to play in naval warfare.

According to the Japanese Meteorological Office, this summer (June to August) in Japan was the fourth hottest in 114 years.

The hottest was the last year's summer.  So, you may think that the global warming is still going on that the two of the four hottest summers in 114 years have been experienced in these two consecutive years.

But you may also think that the momentum of the global warming has come to cease.



SECTION I: End of Times

As it has passed 4000 years since the emergence of Abraham and 2000 years since the rise of Christ Jesus, we will have to accept any upheaval or a great change in the society of mankind.

But what do they teach in the three great religions?

Signs of the End Times

ISLAM:
Major and minor signs will reveal that the end times have arrived (Sura 21:96, 27:82, 43:61)
Major Signs:
1.  Gross materialism
2.  Women outnumber men
3.  Muslims defeat Jews in battle; Muslims and Christians battle unbelievers together, then Muslims defeat Christians in battle.

Minor Signs:
1.  Increase in bloodshed and war
2.  Contraction of time
3.  Religious knowledge decreases
4.  Prevalence of the ungodly 

JUDAISM:
Ten signs will accompany the Messianic "birth pangs" of the end times (Sanhedrin 97b).
1.  The world is either all righteous or guilty

First of all, the God and religions of men are two different things.

We may assume that the God gave a religion to Abraham's followers, Christ Jesus' followers, and followers of Islam, but they might not have 100% faithfully and honestly accepted it and expanded it.  While followers of those followers are now saying that they respect the God, they minds might be very far from the teaching of the God.

Just think!  How many people have you ever seen who love the God more than themselves and their money?   If such people as love themselves and their money more than the God claim that they respect Abraham, Christ Jesus, and Islam, how can you trust them?

Therefore, teachings in each religion must be carefully studied.  Their teachings must be under the influence of the limit of faith in the followers.  So, signs of the end of times each religions assets must be carefully checked.

Anyway, it looks like that something bad will happen when the end of times is approaching.  For some, WWI was the sign.  For others, WWII was the sign.  And, for the rest, 2001 and 2008 must be.  But, for believers it must be 2010 rather than Newton's 2060.

So, the year 750 must be the starting point for Newton's calculation of adding 1260 to obtain the year of the Second Advent. Accordingly, we can get 2010 as 750 + 1260 = 2010...

Although the city (Pella) was still inhabited as late as the tenth Century CE, it was the deadly earthquake of CE 747 that ended its long history as a city of major influence in the region.

As everybody knows, a rich man is afraid of a poor man.

If a rich obeys a teaching of Christ Jesus to give his money to a poor man, the poor man would be richer than he.  Then, a poor man might buy a weapon with the money for use to extort more money from him.  Accordingly, a rich man does not give his money to a poor man despite a teaching of Christ Jesus.

That is why rich men any country do not want to pay tax, since poor men would be able to spare and keep more money as their tax duty will become less.  Poor men would then use money for weapons for use to extort more money from rich men.  To protect themselves from poor men, rich men do not like to pay tax.

Basically, a rich man tends to think that a poor man is as mean and bad as he is.  And he knows such a man should be neglected if he is starving, since he is so mean and bad.

So, you need courage, even if you are a rich man, to give money to the poor and pay tax enough.

Or otherwise, a rich man is just foolish or crazy to pursue wealth without limit against the teaching of the God.
