According to a theory, the oldest earthenware mankind created was found in Japan.


In Aomori Prefecture, Japan, earthenware created 16,500 years ago was uncovered.  The oldest earthenware in China was created 14,500 years ago.  The oldest earthenware in West Asia was created 9,000 years ago.

The production of pottery is one of the most ancient arts. The oldest known body of pottery dates from the Jomon period (from about 10,500 to 400 BC) in Japan; and even the earliest Jomon ceramics exhibit a unique sophistication of technique and design. Excavations in the Near East have revealed that primitive fired-clay vessels were made there more than 8,000 years ago. Potters were working in Iran by about 5500 BC, and earthenware was probably being produced even earlier on the Iranian high plateau. Chinese potters had developed characteristic techniques by about 5000 BC. Cultural Sequences and Time Periods in Japanese Archaeology  

    Like archaeologists elsewhere, Japanese archaeologists have divided the prehistory of the archipelago into a variety of different periods.  These periods are comparable to the Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age seen in the rest of the Old World, but the Japanese have given each period its own name to reflect its unique Japanese character.  The table below lists the broad chronological time periods for Japanese archaeology:

There are two types of people nowadays.

Those who are compelled to join Occupy Wall Street and those who have no need to join Occupy Wall Street.  Apparently, cool, cold, cruel and guilefully clever guys are employed by businesses situated in Wall Street.  But, apparently, more humane people are not  employed by businesses situated in Wall Street.

To be rich is not just walking through grasslands to reach a comfortable place without an episode.  On your way you will surely meet a dying person.  If you neglect him and go on, you will surely encounter a sick person.  If you neglect him and go on, you will surely see a victim of violence and a crime.   If you neglect him and go on, you will surely spot a person carrying a too heavy load alone.  If you neglect him and go on, you will surely find a good-natured person being deceived.   If you neglect him and go on, you will surely realize that there are many sheep without a shepherd.   If you neglect them and go on, you will surely be met by a Devil in the comfortable place, your destination over grass.  And, if you obey a Devil, you should know by now you can be rich.

So, to be rich is not just walking through grasslands to reach a comfortable place without an episode.

And today young people who want to be employed by some Wall Street companies should walk through grass called Occupy Wall Street to their destinations.

Anyway, it will be a grave situation if Christ Jesus should not appear in Wall Street, say, on December 25.

Yesterday, rice harvested by a farmer in part of Fukushima City was found to contain radioactive material in an amount more than an allowable level.  Sale of all the rice taken in around the farming house has been banned.  Now all the farmers in Fukushima Prefecture are afraid of bad rumors spreading.

Magnetic Field Inversion (magnetic pole reversal)

Japanese researchers have found a mechanism of the magnetic field inversion of the earth.

The magnetic north pole and south pole changed their position to each other once in 200,000 years or more in the history of the earth (N goes to the Antarctica and S comes up to the Arctic Zone).　A research team consisting of members from Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) and so on found that convection in the two layers of the outer shell is a key to understanding the magnetic field inversion of the earth.  

The two layers each consisting of melted iron have internal movement of melted iron which is called convection.  These two layers under the mantle below the earth's crust are immediately above the inner core of the earth which is made of high-temperature iron in a solid state.  Heat from the inner core supplies energy for the lower layer of the two layers of liquid iron.  But when melted iron in the lower layer gets heated and moves upward, it mingles with the upper layer to be one.  Then as iron gets cooled, it sinks again to be separated into two layers again.  At this point, the directions of convection in both the layers of liquid iron can be changed from the original ones.  This change in directions of the convection of liquid iron in the two layers can cause the magnetic field inversion.

Has Christ Jesus visited Occupy Wall Street?

Or has the Vatican started to interfere with the euro crisis?  Or otherwise, has an Islamic miracle emerged in Syria?  Ultimately, have Judaists decided to take responsibility for every problem in the world as ones chosen by God?

If not, something is wrong, very, very wrong.  The current civilization must be totally reviewed, since nobody is successful even without mentioning various problems and tragedies in China where money is making people so foolish and irresponsible.

The answer is that a man is not expected to live for himself.  A man is not made to pursue his own prosperity and happiness.  A man is allowed to live for the glory of the God.  In other word, a man has to live for the sole purpose of making God happy and prosperous.  It is so since no one was born by his own power,  Everyone was born by the power of God.  People belong to God.

In this context, God is the lord and the master of mankind.  And, the Lord God Almighty says that a man should love the God with all of his mind and ability.  And, Christ Jesus says to love others as we love ourselves.  Only this spirit can solve the Occupy Wall Street issue, the euro crisis, the Islamic civil wars, and the Chinese corruption.

Otherwise, America will fail, Europe will collapse, the Islamic world will be forever in trouble, China is going to be disintegrated, and Judaists will become nothing.

Yet, some people might repent.  Then, the history of mankind will be allowed to evolve for next centuries or next 2000 years.

In April 1912, the Taitanic sank as everybody knows.

The news reached, of course, Japan. One 16-year old boy in Iwate Prefecture also heard this news. 　When he started to write one of his novels 12 years later, he put some elements related to the Taitanic tragedy in the story. Then the novel was made public after his death in 1933 under the title of Night on the Galactic Railroad (Ginga Tetsudo no Yoru).  It was widely welcomed by Japanese people.  Though it was after his death, Kenji Miyazawa became famous for his humanity and modern flavor in his works.  If somebody identifying himself as a Japanese does not know author Kenji Miyazawa and his representative work "Night on the Galactic Railroad (Ginga Tetsudo no Yoru)," he is not a Japanese. 

It was a fantasy about a poor boy who worked in a printing house while going to school.  One evening he suddenly found himself in a train running in the starry sky.  He met various people in the train, including his best friend who was to die by accident in the real world.  The boy also met a young man accompanied by two children.  The young man said that while he, as a teacher of the two children, was sending the two siblings to their father by sea the ship they boarded hit a big iceberg to sink.  This episode implied that the galactic train was operated to send people to Heaven.  After all, when the boy came back to himself in the night under the sky studied with stars and walked back to his town, he heard that his best friend died by drowning in a river just after saving a classmate troubled in a river.

On March 11, 2011, an M9.0 earthquake occurred in the north Pacific Ocean off the Iwate Prefecture.  Subsequent big tsunamis took on more than 6000 lives in Iwate Prefecture.  And, interestingly, Kenji Miyazawa is mysteriously bound to natural disasters.  

When Kenji was born  in 1896, the great Meiji Sanriku earthquake and tsunami occurred, killing 22,000 people.  Sanriku is the name of the coastal area of Iwate Prefecture facing the North Pacific Ocean.  When Kenji Miyazawa started to write the notable novel Night on the Galactic Railroad (Ginga Tetsudo no Yoru)  in 1923, the Great Kanto Earthquake took place around Tokyo, taking on 100,000 lives.  When he died in 1933, the great Showa Sanriku earthquake and tsunami occurred, claiming  3,000 lives.  And, his best novel features a motif partly including an accident and a tragedy in a river and an ocean.   It is said that after the 3/11 tsunami of this year some of Kenji's poems were recited in some gatherings all over the world.

In the story of Night on the Galactic Railroad (Ginga Tetsudo no Yoru), the poor boy was also checked in the train as to whether or not he had a ticket to ride.  Every other passenger had a ticket to his or her destination in Heaven or so.  When the galactic train reached their destinations, they disappeared.  But, the poor boy's ticket is for an unlimited ride.  He can travel in the train forever.  Conversely, he had no destination.  Accordingly, he could not go into the world of deaths or Heaven.  He returned to this world to find himself standing on a hill near his home town under the starry night.

The author Kenji Miyazawa died at 37 in 1933.  It is said that he loved his sister very much who died of illness 10 years earlier than Kenji's death while she learnt in a university in Tokyo.  This tragedy might reflect on his work somehow.

A human cell can be divided only 50 times or so.

When this limit is reached, a cell dies.  If many of cells of the human body die, a man will get old.  And, the mechanism of this limited cell division capability is governed by the characteristics of the Telomere, the end parts of a DNA sequence.  Each time a cell is divided, the length of a Telomere gets shorter.  After 50 times of division, a Telomere gets too short to protect the main body of DNA, and a cell holding the DNA and the Telomere is forced to avoid using broken DNA so as to die eventually.  It is to secure soundness of DNA and genes to be handed down to new cells created through cell division. But, there is something that can recover a Telomere, which is called Telomerase.

This is the reason why telomeres are so important in context of successful cell division: They "cap" the end-sequences and themselves get lost in the process of DNA replication. But the cell has an enzyme called telomerase, which carries out the task of adding repetitive nucleotide sequences to the ends of the DNA. Telomerase, thus, "replenishes" the telomere "cap" of the DNA. In most multicellular eukaryotic organisms, telomerase is active only in germ cells, stem cells, and certain white blood cells. There are theories that claim that the steady shortening of telomeres with each replication in somatic (body) cells may have a role in senescence and in the prevention of cancer. This is because the telomeres act as a sort of time-delay "fuse", eventually running out after a certain number of cell divisions and resulting in the eventual loss of vital genetic information from the cell's chromosome with future divisions.... 

Since shorter telomeres are thought to be a cause of poorer health and aging, this raises the question of why longer telomeres are not selected for to ameliorate these effects. A prominent explanation suggests that inheriting longer telomeres would cause increased cancer rates (e.g. Weinstein and Ciszek, 2002). However, a recent literature review and analysis ^[13] suggests this is unlikely, because shorter telomeres and telomerase inactivation is more often associated with increased cancer rates, and the mortality from cancer occurs late in life when the force of natural selection is very low. An alternative explanation to the hypothesis that long telomeres are selected against due to their cancer promoting effects is the "thrifty telomere" hypothesis that suggests that the cellular proliferation effects of longer telomeres causes increased energy expenditures.^[13] In environments of energetic limitation, shorter telomeres might be an energy sparing mechanism.

On the other hand, a bacterium has no telomeres as its DNA has a shape of a loop.  This single-cell creature can live forever while splitting itself as many times as possible in theory.  No matter how many times it is divided into two, no deterioration of  DNA information occurs.

Some cells of a multicellular animal or plant have a mechanism to commit a suicide for survival as a whole body.  They go on growing or living while discarding unnecessary cells by forcing them to kill themselves.  But,  single-cell bacteria do not have the same mechanism, since they have each only one cell.  To kill itself is to kill a whole body.  Yet, it can kill itself.

When a myriad of bacteria get together and live like a big living thing, there is a situation that it is advantageous for a great majority of bacteria that some bacteria die or disappear.  In this case, a special signal is sent from some bacterium to other member of a group which kills itself on receiving the signal.

How does EDF work? It mimics a portion of the MazE sequence important for its binding to MazF, especially with regard to the central tryptophan that corresponds to a critical tryptophan in MazE. The parallel interaction of EDF-MazF and MazE MazF awaits structural analysis of the EDF-MazF complex. But matters are more intricate, as seen by the presence of two binding sites on MazF for mRNA. Even in the world of bacteria survival of a whole group counts more than one of its members.  Maybe in a rare case death of one bacterium saves the whole group.

In this context, the death of Christ Jesus might be thought of.  To save the whole group of human beings he died.  But, "save" is not a simple act with a single meaning.  Anyway, in the world of living things, every live living thing owes deaths and a myriad of deaths that have been performed and accumulated since the beginning of history of creatures.

A showdown has come around Wall Street, far before Christmas.

Almost all the Japanese TV stations broadcast this situation.  However, nobody thinks that this loose movement would change America drastically.  Yet, it is Occupy Wall Street that emerged as if taking over the symbolic position of the era of the late Steve Jobs.

Maybe it implies that no more IT heroes will appear in the US; but the era of popular and social movement has come.  It might match Japan's lost decade which has led to long-time deflation.  Japan has suffered deflation due to too much use of cheap labor force in China.  But it is globalization driven by the IT development that forced Japanese makers to use low-paid Chinese workers and reduce costs.  The same dynamics have fostered unemployment in the US.  It is deeply rooted in the global economic structure involving China and India both of which have hundreds of millions of  work force.

In either case, this Occupy Wall Street movement must have a deep, obscure but decisive influence on the 2012 Presidential Election, though.

Energy & Entropy in Society


If you use energy more you can build a great city like New York with Wall Street in it.

But, a potential of disorder will be accumulated around the big city.  For example, Haiti is one of surrounding areas of New York.  The more New York is organized with huge energy spent, the more Haiti will be put into a mess, say, even before the occurrence of the great earthquake in 2010.

Similarly,  a potential of disorder will be accumulated around Wall Street.  The more Wall Street businesses earn profits, the more ordinary people will face a threat of unemployment.  However, the subprime loan scheme supported a higher level of consumption by Americans, so that many businesses hired many people till the 2008 Lehman Shock.  With the debacle of subprime loan mortgage business, the hidden potential of instability of the society emerged.

But, social advancement needs energy to achieve great stability.  Yet, energy increases instability.  So, this paradigm is wrong.  There is a discrepancy.  But, can it be possible to attain higher social advancement and stability without increasing entropy while consuming a huge amount of energy?

So, correctly,

To satisfy desire for material success, mankind uses energy.  As long as it is within a range that does not trigger a big shift in the domains of entropy, social stability, and spiritual advancement, the world can sustain itself.  But, if it goes beyond the range, disastrous deterioration in the human spirit would prevail all over the world, no matter how if it looks like advancement of society superficially.    

(If any of the four components gets out of the effective range, the relationships between them will be broken and an extreme situation can happen.  For example, it might be just like Nazi Germany or Stalin's USSR had conquered the whole world: great social stability but not spiritual or even no social advancement.)

This one of major reasons that the American material civilization would collapse sooner or later, maybe, like the Roman Empire.

Along with material success of the society, people naturally become happy materially.

Electricity, foods, information, and entertainment are abundantly provided.  The superficial economic success hide various problems, but human spirit is being degraded.  Materially happy people do not need God.  So, the whole society would become fragile.  Energy used to support civilization would increase entropy.  A potential of total collapse of social systems will increase, though further energy is used to control and prevent it.

The issue at point is a future state of mankind, though nobody can connect himself to the world of future, say,  100 years after, 10,000 years after, or one million years after.

The rise and fall of an empire of a civilization is a common theme in study of history.

If you understand this phenomenon well, you can change your view on the world and your own life.  At least you would never believe a 1000 year prosperity of Nazi Germany, 10,000 year dominance of the Soviet Union, or eternal supremacy of the British Empire.  

But, rises of some entities in history have been so remarkable, that their falls look so significant in study of the world.  Especially, a state of economy in each major nation presents examples easy to comprehend.

Yet, as so often discussed, a great catastrophe in the nature could destroy the whole economy and maybe civilizations on the earth.  The presently identified greatest threat from the nature is the global warming.

So, let's see some example of a drastic rise and a fall of living things.

This is the population graph of yeast cells in a 10% sugar solution. Nonetheless, over and over again, a cycle of a rise and a fall has been repeated in the human history.

So, some theories are presented to analyze the state of the growth/fall cycles and changes in contents of the phenomenon.

The sigmoid (depth-1) segments from the year of 1550 when the modern civilization established into bicentennial long phase of 'nationalization', 'industrialization', and 'informatization'.

The key to understanding these phenomena is entropy.  While a scale and a level of material and energy undergo the cycles of a rise and a fall, entropy goes up steadily to be saturated in a closed space or system such as the earth.

As the above figure indicated, in a closed space such as the earth, any human activities would result in a halt where equilibrium is attained.  This equilibrium is between the allowable limit of entropy in the space, possible consumption of energy and resources available in the space, and stability supported by causality linked in systems working in the space.  If this equilibrium is lost, the whole civilization will collapse.  In the case, the equilibrium can be just a top, flat, and short portion in the above curve of the population graph of yeast cells.

While a civilization is growing, it causes great disorder around it.  While a big city is being built, wastes from consumption of the city are being discharged to its peripherals, increasing total entropy.  While a civilization is falling, it causes great disorder inside and around it.  While a big city is falling, debris from structures will increase total entropy inside and outside the city.

The Western Roman Empire followed this rule.  And, today, with great power of GDP and money beyond comparison with the Roman Empire, the whole world is increasing and accelerating an increase of entropy.  Entropy due to use of material and energy can be somewhat controlled by development of science and technology.  But, entropy simply expanding due to GDP and money cannot be simply contained.  That is why we need a new paradigm, philosophy, or religion to cope with a possible great fall of today's total civilizations on the earth.

An individual economy in the world will rise and fall in many times.  But, the whole human population, the balance of the nature, the limit of cultural development of mankind, and so on might eventually lead to a fatal catastrophe to all the mankind while entropy of the earth is simply growing toward an equilibrium level which is also beyond our imagination of today.
