The Place where Spirits of Poor Men are Welcomed

According to various people with psychic power who can communicate with spirits living in the afterworld or the spirit world, spirits of all dead men are allowed to enter into the spirt world unconditionally after their death but are required to educate and train themselves to ascend to higher levels in the spirit world so as to get closer to the God, which was however not told by Christ Jesus.

According to various people with psychic power, there are some levels and hierarchy in the spirit world.  At the lowest, spirits of evil men go and live doing the same evil things as those they did while living in the material world.  At the highest, the God lives surrounded by the highest angels.  And, each spirit of dead men wants to live as close as the God, so that it is required to enhance its mind of each spirit to be allowed to ascend the levels step by step.    

However, wisdom and knowledge held by spirits who were scholars, professors, church leaders, etc. are useless in the spirit world, according to Swedenborg.  Their wisdom and knowledge are not rooted in their inner minds but are only related to the outer material world.  Wisdom and knowledge effective in the afterlife or the spirit world should be all based on love to the God and neighbors.  

Therefore, spirits who love the God would spontaneously ascend the spiritual levels to get closer to the God as much as possible.  Spirits who love Satan would run away from light of the God as much as possible so as to hide in deeper levels, which should be called the hell.   

Anyway, according to Christ Jesus, the afterlife of the spirit world is the place where spirits of poor men are welcomed, consoled, and made happy by receiving love from the God.  They will want to be happier by receiving more love from the God, so that they will ascend the levels in the spirit world to get closer to the God. 

Put simply, structure of the afterlife or the spirit world was not mentioned by Christ Jesus, except that there are Heaven and the hell, but it is the place where spirits of poor men are welcomed, consoled, and made happy after death in this material world.

Poor Men Can Get Eternal Life but Rich Men Cannot

Life after death or eternal life is the central issue of the New Testament as Christ Jesus focused on it:

John 5
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

It was also discussed by early followers of Christ Jesus, as life after death or eternal life must have been one of their main concerns:

1 John 5
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

On the other hand, those brainwashed by Satan often say that life is only once and one will turn to nothing after death, so that it is wise to enjoy life, while living in this world, as much as possible by earning money as much as possible even by selling one's soul to Satan.  However, Satan is not a simple man but a spiritual entity.  Believing in Satan means believing in existence of spiritual existence.  Therefore, it is irrational not to believe in existence of one's spirit after death.  

However, one may deny the existence of Satan and the afterlife while being brainwashed by Satan.  One can only believe in existence of this world and his existence in it while denying everything spiritual including the God, Heaven, Satan, the hell, the spirit world, the afterlife, etc.  When he is asked what he thinks about why and how this world was generated and he himself was born to live in this world, he may simply answer that he does not know or it is only by chance.  It is as if a big fool was denying everything but his own desire. 

But for poor men who have no hope of becoming rich or being relieved of any pains, the promise of eternal life can be the only hope he can have.  As such a poor man should see every evil being performed around him, he should also see Satan and its influence on people.  He should also know that he has to sell his soul to Satan and perform any evil thing to earn money or become rich.  If he cannot obey and follow Satan, he should remain poor but wish that he would be saved in the afterlife.  Accordingly, he should accept the teaching of Christ Jesus, since it gives him true hope.  Such a man would not say that life is only once so that he should be allowed to do anything or any evil to be any happy in this world.

Anyway, the eternal life or everlasting life is the largest wealth one can get.  And, Christ Jesus assured that poor men would be given it, since any man who accepts the teaching of Christ Jesus cannot help being poor.  In other words, rich men who deny the afterlife and reject the teaching of Christ Jesus cannot get the eternal life.  This is what was taught by Christ Jesus and thus should be the principle of the religion Christianity.

Christ Jesus Died around Rome at about 40 as a Poor Carpenter

We may wonder why Christianity grew and developed with its center at Rome in its early periods.  It could be Athens, Constantinople, Syrian Antioch, Alexandria, or Jerusalem.  It must not be enough to think that the reason is that St. Paul died in Rome as he was killed by Emperor Nero.

So, it is interesting that Florizel von Reuter (1890 – 1985) wrote that Christ Jesus died at the age about 40 near Rome while living as a carpenter after resurrection from the death on the cross.  Reuter, an American violinist, wrote the book The Master from Afar as he guided by a certain spirit.  This book described details of the last three years of Christ Jesus, which are briefly described in the Gospels.

According to The Master from Afar, Jesus survived as a big rain fell while He was put on the crucifix.  Roman soldiers were so embarrassed that they pulled Him down from the cross and left Him on the ground as they thought that He already died.  Subsequently, Jesus came back to life and ran away secretly through a port on the Mediterranean as He was afraid that Roman soldiers and the Jewish authority might accuse His relatives.  Finally, He found a job in a village near Rome as an old carpenter hired Him.  And, after death of the old man, Jesus took over his shop.  Before Jesus died, He happened to meet Peter and encouraged him to continue his work to preach His teaching.  And, when Jesus died, His spirit made a supernatural appearance in front of Mary of Magdala.    

The author depicted Christ Jesus as a social reformer with spiritual ability but not as the transformed God.  Therefore, this story cannot be accepted by the Vatican and other churches, but it gives some human insight into life of Christ Jesus as a man.  And it made it natural that Christianity grew and developed around Rome.  The spirit of Christ Jesus must have helped St. Paul live and work in Rome, though under house arrest.  From this point of view, it can be easily understood that Rome became the center of the early Christianity.

And, as Rome was the capital of the Roman Empire, Christianity could swiftly spread all over its territory and especially to the areas today called West Europe.  Indeed, the city Vatican must be close to the place where Christ Jesus died unnoticed by all as a plain man.

However, people must want to know how Christ Jesus secretly lived and helped St. Paul and other early Christians in Rome in the last nine years till his death.            

The background of the author Florizel von Reuter in terms of spiritualism is as follows:

During the 1920s his mother, Grace Reuter, developed apparent psychic powers by receiving supposed spirit messages through automatic writing. Florizel became closely involved with this and acted as a medium and as recorder of the findings, which were first described in The Psychic Experiences of a Musician (in Search of Truth) (1928) — with a foreword by writer Arthur Conan Doyle — and in its sequel The Consoling Angel (1930). These in particular described conversations with famous deceased musicians. His first important claimed contacts were Paganini and Pablo de Sarasate, and also the late Professor Heinrich Barth of Berlin. Messages were delivered through a type of planchette called an "Additor", used originally by his mother, and many of them were spelled out backwards.

He contributed an essay on "Nature Spirits" to the 1928 revised edition of Arthur Conan Doyle's The Coming of the Fairies, p. 156–157, and was associated with Baron von Schrenck-Notzing in a series of experiments with the Schneider brothers.

According to the psychic in the 18th century Swedenborg, not all the spirits coming to this world or communicating with spirit mediums can be trusted.  There are many spirits that deceive spirit mediums and other people.

However, if the spirit of Christ Jesus appeared to a pious believer, we should trust in Him after confirming that He is from Christ Jesus without doubt.

Poor Men's Souls Happy in the Afterlife

What made them believe in Christ Jesus 2000 years ago, when there were no Gospels. complicated creeds, theological doctrines, church organizations, etc.?

Did Christ Jesus give big money to those poor people, so that they continued to appreciate and believe in Him for 2000 years?

First, Christ Jesus showed His heavenly power to heal the sick, even reviving the dead, and thus proved that He had come from the God.  Subsequently, He taught that the poor could enter into Heaven but the rich could not.

So, all the poor people 2000 years ago were rejoiced.  Their joy have continued till nowadays.  That is why the Vatican and other churches cannot neglect or deny poor people.    

On the other hand, those who became rich by selling their souls to Satan hated and suppressed the teaching of Christ Jesus.  Satan has used evil spirits and human followers of Satan to attack and harm believers of Christ Jesus.  If everybody believed in the teaching of Christ Jesus, none would try to be rich, since no rich men can enter into Heaven.  Accordingly, none would sell their souls to Satan.

In this context, the God used Christ Jesus to give people the notion that only poor men could be accepted in Heaven where they should be welcomed and satisfied.

However, Heaven is in the spirit world or the afterlife.  Essentially a man cannot enter into the spirit world unless he dies.  But, while living in this world, men have to be poor to be accredited with having qualification for entering Heaven.  From this point of view, true followers of Christ Jesus should be poor as much as possible while living in this world.

The background of this condition must be that there has been a war between the God and Satan through the spirit world to this world.  In the spirit world, no spirits need any money to buy foods, clothes, hoses, etc.  But in this material world, everybody needs money that is a tool of Satan.  To get money, men have to sell any part of their souls to Satan, so that they will be followers or servants of Satan. 

Therefore, it is a mystery that the God had created this material world where human beings with their souls inside were born and died.  But, after a man dies in this material world, his soul enters into the spirit world and can be further allowed to enter into Heaven unless he was rich while living in this world.  It is because being rich means selling his soul to Satan.

Anyway, as poor people believed that the God had sent His Son to this world to tell them that the poor could enter into Heaven to be fulfilled forever, Christianity was accepted by many and has continued even to date.            

Therefore, spiritualism handling spirits, the spirit world, and other spiritual things should reflect this teaching of Christ Jesus or at least battles between the God and Satan.

Satan would use evil spirits to give wrong images and notions about the spirit world to living people such that men can be rich both in this world and in the afterlife.  Accordingly there must be many souls who go to the hell after completing their rich lives in this world.  However, only poor men's souls can be happy in the afterlife or in Heaven.

Freedom Making Evil or Performing Virtue

How evil or vice came to exist and influence human beings is a critical issue, since none is free from such an influence.

According to Swedenborg who observed the spirit world or the afterlife while living in this world in the 18th century, evil was generated from freedom human beings were enjoying.  Based on freedom, men could choose good or bad.  But men gradually came to choose small goodness or virtue than great goodness or virtue.  In this trend, men came to finally choose evil than any small virtue.  Good or bad is also an issue in the spirit world or the afterlife, since there are many evil spirits and demons there.

The hell is not the place where bad men are punished in their afterlife, but bad men prefer to go to the hell since they cannot bear receiving bright light in Heaven.  The hell is the place built by souls of evil men in the afterworld.  Following freedom, they choose to build and live in the hell.

But when the God created the spirit world, there was no hell.  However, when the God created the material world from the spirit energy, He gave freedom to men who would live there.  And, men chose evil rather than virtue in living in the material world as they tried to satisfy their lives in the material world.

In the material world, men used his freedom to satisfy themselves which had material bodies.  When they were hungry, they had to feed themselves to go on living in the material world.  For them to further live, they would give priority to themselves first than others.  If they had enough foods, they could give some of them to others, but they still chose to feed themselves first.  They acted as if they had been a god who had power to make themselves or others live in the material world.  

Or they might choose to give all the foods they had to others from their love to those in hunger.   But, they chose to give only part of the foods to others.  First, they gave a half of the foods to others.  But, next time, the chose to give one quarter of foods.  Further, next time, they gave eighth part.  And, finally they stopped giving any part to others.  They gradually chose smaller goodness and eventually evil in the material world for their love to themselves.

In the spirit world, they need not to feed themselves.  Love from the God makes them live.  But, in the material world, they can feed themselves and others as if they were a god.  And, for love to themselves, they came to practice smaller and smaller goodness to others to make themselves even more happy.

And when such men as behaved like a god or practiced evil in the material world died and entered into the spirit world or the afterworld, they became evil spirits or demons under the control of Satan who was against the God.  And, more and more evil spirits gathered in the spirit world, the hell was formed.  In this way, this material world is connected to the spirit world.

From wrong execution of their freedom in this material world, men came to build and live in the hell in the spirit world or the afterlife.  In other words, from right execution of freedom, men can live near Heaven in the spirit world or the afterlife.

Therefore, knowledge of religion or even teachings of Christ Jesus alone cannot make men accepted in Heaven.  How they executed their freedom or how they behaved in this world decides whether they can enter into Heaven of fall into the hell.  So, faith based on knowledge alone is not enough, but good actions are needed for men to be accepted in Heaven.         

 

Therefore, love that makes men execute their freedom in a right way is greater than faith.

Forbidden Fruit and Death due to Reason

Everybody knows the story of Adam, Eve, and the forbidden fruit, but its meaning is not necessarily fully understood. 

According to Swedenborg (1688 – 1772), Eve ate the fruit as she followed her rational mind.  The rational mind is generated based on the human body but does not reflect heavenly wisdom.  Therefore, it is natural that Adam and Even started to live on their rational minds leaving heavenly wisdom, since they had physical bodies.  Consequently, they were expelled from Heaven.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Put simply, men came to regard themselves as a kind of gods.  Therefore, the God would forsake men, so that men were destined to death.

Human reason is generated based on the human body.  Men living while following human reason turn their eyes to material matters and worldly things rather to heavenly wisdom.  Human reason is generated for men to handle material matters and worldly things in this material world.  However, it is not effective in understanding heavenly meaning of material matters and worldly things.

There is no death in Heaven, since every spirit is given eternal life by the God.  If a man with the material body has his spirit living in Heaven while he is living in this world, he is not afraid of death in this world, since he understands that even if his body dies in this world, his spirit goes on living in Heaven.  But if the man is living in this world based on his reason, he would lose this spiritual understanding to concentrate only on material matters.  As a consequence, he would come to be afraid of physical death, since he has already lost the spiritual understanding.      

Therefor, when Christ Jesus came to this world 2000 years ago, people had already lost the spiritual understanding and did not believe that their spirits could live forever in Heaven if the God allowed it.  That is why Christ Jesus had to teach them that those who believed in Him would live forever in Heaven even if they died in this world.

Put simply, we have to understand that heavenly wisdom takes priority over human reason.  For example, laws, regulations, rules, etc. in this world is based on human reason, but we have to give priority to heavenly wisdom in some cases.  Christ Jesus did not come to abolish Torah and laws, but He gave priority to heavenly wisdom.

If people rely only on human reason, Satan would interfere with work of human reason linked to material conditions, since handling of material matters and worldly things is influenced by physical desires that are vulnerable to the influence of Satan.

From another point of view, when a man loses spiritual understanding or spiritual sight, he would believe that physical death in this world is absolute and final death.  So, he would do anything such as selling his soul to Satan to get rich and live happily in this world till his death, which should satisfy Satan.

Physical death in this world of a man without knowing eternal life to be given by the God in Heaven would be real death.  In other words, he has chose death over life.  But, those who believe in the words of Christ Jesus can be said to have chosen life over death or heavenly life over worldly death.

However, the God is merciful.  If a man does not know and understand the words of Christ Jesus, he would be accepted in Heaven if he respects and fears the God and rejects Satan.  It also means that those who blindly follow the Vatican and other churches might not be accepted in Heaven especially if they are rich.

Believe and Die to Enter into Heaven

When a man dies, his soul leaves his body to enter into the afterworld or the spirit world and obtains eternal life if he believes in Christ Jesus.  This is what was preached by Christ Jesus as written in the Gospels.  

John 11
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

This truth must be taught in every elementary school in the world, so that everybody will not be afraid of death.

Indeed, according to Elizabeth Kubler-Ross who studied people's dying or death for decades till her death in 2004, there are only few people who did not at all believe in any form of the afterlife among thousands whose death she had observed.  Put simply, most of people believe in the afterlife or something like that.  But, most of Christians seem to have some kind of fear or insecure feeling toward death despite influence of Christianity.  Rather, non-Christian Asians seem to die in a more smooth way due to their religions such as Buddhism.

For example, some schools of Japanese Buddhism focus on dying of people, so that they teach that people can enter into Paradise if only they they chant names of Buddhism deities or simple phrases in creeds when they are dying.  Tibetan Buddhism has The Tibetan Book of the Dead where the method and process to send a dying man to Paradise is described.

Swedenborg, who observed the afterworld while living in this world in the 18th century, wrote that there were confusions in Christians who died and came to the spirit world.  They could not easily adapt to the afterworld.  And, it was because the Vatican and other Christian churches did not teach right and correct things about death and the afterlife.  He even wrote that some past Popes, Martin Luther, St. Paul, etc. were found in the hell.  He did not see even David in Heaven.  It seems that poor men without learning who simply followed the teaching of the God while living in this world are accepted in Heaven.  

The Vatican and Christian churches should teach people simply that they can enter into Heaven after their death if only they believe in Christ Jesus.  Other matters should be secondary.  They should not discuss about the Trinity and other theological issues.  They should teach just that people can enter into Heaven after their death if only they believe in Christ Jesus.  It is not a fairy tale but truth.

Evoke the Spirits of Christ Jesus and Judas

According to The Manhood of Jesus by Geraldine Dorothy Cummins (1890–1969), an Irish spiritualist medium, Judas Iscariot was different than what he looks like as taught in churches.

Put simply he was a friend of Christ Jesus, although he betrayed Christ Jesus.  And after the arrest of Christ Jesus, Judas committed a suicide to give his life to Christ Jesus while other disciples ran away to hide.  Therefore, the word of Christ Jesus that there was no more greater love than dying for one's friend seems to refer to the friendship of Judas to Christ Jesus.

As for the background of Judas, his father was a respectable Jew who fought against Romans but was betrayed by his colleague to be executed by Romans.  Judas was in charge of managing money given by people to Christ Jesus, but he secretly diverted some of the money to buy swords and other weapons to prepare for an expected fight against Romans.  Christ Jesus must have known all these circumstances.  But according to the Gospel, He cursed at Judas:

21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

Anyway, spiritual media should do is to evoke the spirits of Christ Jesus and Judas.  There seems to be more secrets in Judas in relation to Christ Jesus.

Or Judas simply died due to woe caused by the word of Christ Jesus

Geraldine Cummins (1890 – 1969) spiritually communicated with F. W. H. Myers (1843 – 1901; a British poet and a founder of the Society for Psychical Research) and delivered the book The Road to Immorality written based on the spiritual communication.

Whether you believe or not that there can be communications with the spirits of deceased persons, the descriptions in the book match most of reports of near-death experiences, which became popular since Raymond Moody issuing books on such experiences since 1970s, in terms of death, the afterworld, and states of human souls after death.  However, the Vatican and other Christian churches have not encouraged people to promote the notion of immorality of human souls based on near-death experiences or modern spiritualism, which started in Europe and America in the 19th century.  Indeed, they did not authorize Swedenborg who wrote many books about the spirit world based on his own experiences of seeing the afterlife while living in this world in the 18th century, although he was a pious Christian (but not a Catholic).

In these books of Swedenborg and the modern spiritualism, there are some unique views on the God, Christ Jesus, the spirit world, etc. that are different from those officially adopted by the Vatican and other Christian churches.  Especially, views and thoughts on the God and Christ Jesus are important in judging divine authenticity of those books, if they are against Catholic creeds.         　

In The Road to Immorality, the spirit of Myers talked through Cummins that living people with finite minds should conceive the God with the expression that "the God is greater than love," although Christ Jesus said that "the God is love."  

It is because Christ Jesus used this expression in a different way and meaning than those for past people who had used the word love with human meanings.  The fact that Christ Jesus used the expression "the God is love" means that only Christ Jesus among all the human being who had ever lived in this world understood the true meaning of this expression.

This is an argument that cannot be discussed with a slicker or a tool of Satan.  If we interpret the words of Christ Jesus from a human pint of view or as words with human meaning, the expression of "The God is love" might sound simply emotional.  Nonetheless, Christ Jesus also said that "The God is the Spirit."  In this case, nobody should wrongly think that the God once lived in this world but died at a certain time. 

Anyway, non-nonsense men involved in spiritual matters seem to see the God as the the supreme ruler of the spirit world.  Even non-nonsense spirits that have spiritually communicated with living men seem to admit that they are all under power, dignity, glory, and love of the God.

The Vatican and other churches should change their attitudes, views, and policies on modern spiritualism.  They have to admit that every human being has his own soul that will enter into the spirit world to be a spirit leaving its body after death in this world like Christ Jesus as the modern spiritualism suggests.

You but Not Christ Jesus that Is on the Cross

Everybody knows that Christ Jesus suffered on the cross before His death.  But He knew that His soul would continue to live in the spirit world after death in this world.  But nobody has discussed this issue and found the answer.

From the beginning, the mission of Christ Jesus and the Gospels that report His mission are based on the notion that there are the afterworld, Heaven, and the hell.  Therefore, Christ Jesus should not have been afraid of death, since He knew that His soul should go on living in the spirit world after death in this world.  So then, what made Christ Jesus suffer so hard on the cross before His death?

The answer must be love to people but not sins of them.  It can be partly true that Christ Jesus suffered on the cross because He took and carried all the sins of people on behalf of them so as to make them relieve from retribution.  However, it is more likely that Christ Jesus saw power of Satan on people making people rebel against the God and leading them to corruption and degeneracy.  As a result, more and more people would fall into the hell, for which Christ Jesus felt responsible and remorse.

In other words, Christ Jesus should have seen so many people falling into the hell in the future.  Due to love to people, Christ Jesus must have felt great pain.  The images of the future revealed to Christ Jesus on the cross must have been so horrible, since so many people brainwashed by Satan would fall into the hell.

Christ Jesus must not have suffered due to His own tragedy or personal pains or for the weight of sins He carried on behalf of people.  But He suffered due to tragedies and pains that the people brainwashed by Satan should suffer in the future, and He felt responsible for it.    

Some people have mistaken Christ Jesus on the cross as a representative of sinners.  To tell the truth, the image of Christ Jesus on the cross represents everyone suffering due to divine punishment as he is brainwashed by Satan.  

"It is you but not Christ Jesus that is on the cross" must be the message that should be delivered by the Vatican and other churches.

Spirits Requested to Ascend to Higher Levels

In Japan, there is one story, named Kozakura-hime Monogatari (The Princess Kozakura Story) well known to people interested in spiritualism, about a woman who had been the wife of a samurai 400 years earlier and appeared to a certain woman in the 20th century through spiritual communications.  

The spiritual communications between the spirit and the certain woman who was wife of Wasaburo Asano, a notable researcher of spiritualism in Japan before WWII, continued for about 7 years since 1929 when the wife got spiritual ability at death of her boy.  The spirit called itself Kozakura-hime (Princess Kozakura) and talked about its life while living in this world as well as various states in the afterworld.  After fully talking experiences in the spirit world, the spirit declared that it would stop the communications.   Asano wrote the book about these spiritual communications between his wife and the spirit, which became a best seller at the time.  Subsequently, Asano died in 1937.

And 40 years later, around 1969, the spirit of Princess Kozakura appeared to a local historian who lived around the place where Princess Kozakura once lived as the wife of a samurai local lord.  The historian studied about Princess Kozakura to find that she had died without giving birth to children, so that her name was not recorded in the family history of the clan of her husband.  So, the historian visited the Asano's wife to inform her of the spiritual appearance of the spirit of Princess Kozakura and get some information about her.  The historian gave the spirit a religious name of shintoism to appease her and officially admit her existence in history.  Then, the spirit of Princess Kozakura stopped appearing to the historian.  And, soon after it, Asano's wife died in 1969.

The spirit or Princess Kozakura came to know Asano's wife when her boy died and entered into the afterlife.  Then, Princess Kozakura became the guardian spirit of Asano's wife.  From communications between Princess Kozakura and Asano's wife, some interesting status and circumstances in the spirit world were revealed.

Spirits in the afterlife or the spirit world are requested to spiritually study and train themselves so that they will ascend to higher levels in the spirit world.  And, as shintoism was popular in the samurai class at the time of her life, Princess Kozakura said that gods of shintoism presided over some parts of the spirit world.  However, there are upper levels where other gods preside.  

There are also spirits of animals and plants in the spirit world who behave and talk like human spirits, according to Princess Kozakura.  And, there are also spirits of some mystical creatures known in the Japanese society several hundreds years ago. 

Except parts in her explanations about the spirit world, which are unique to the era in Japan when Princess Kozakura lived probably in the 15th century, the status and circumstances of spirits in the spirit world match those in the spirit world and near-death experiences reported by modern Europeans and Americans. 

In this context, it seems to be true that souls of dead men continue to live in the afterworld as spirits with the same minds as those they had while living in this world but with different spiritual bodies.  Nonetheless, spirits in the spirit world are requested to educate and enhance themselves and ascend to higher levels closer to the supreme God, although they do not have to worry about clothes, foods, and residence.       

Today, a shintoism shrine enshrining Princess Kozakura stands in a costal area near Tokyo where she lived as the wife of a samurai local lord about 500 years ago.  And nowadays, the spirit of Princess Kozakura seems to live or rest peacefully in the afterworld.

Conan Doyle's Efforts to Propagate Spiritualism

Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle (1859 – 1930) is famous not only for his novels featuring Sherlock Holmes but also for his belief and efforts to diffuse spiritualism. 

However, his work New Revelation (1918) shows his passion to influence modern Christianity with a hope that the truth of Christ Jesus should be taught to Christians.  According to Doyle, Christ Jesus was the person with the highest spiritual power.  The Gospels should be read from the view point that miracles and healings by Christ Jesus were based on His ability to use spiritual power.  Doyle also believed that there was the afterlife.  He also thought that WWI had occurred due to the failure of the Vatican and other Christian churches in teaching truth of Christ Jesus while diffusing problematic creeds that could not prevent WWI.  And, the main reason for this failure of traditional Christian communities was, Dole thought, that they had not read and interpret the Gospels from the spiritual point of view.                

One of interesting points in his argument is that the event called the Transfiguration of Jesus in the Gospels shows Christ Jesus' spiritual power to evoke spirits of ancient Jewish saints such as Moses while using St. Peter and other disciples as spirit mediums.  

In the Synoptic Gospels, (Matthew 17:1–8 Mark 9:2–8, Luke 9:28–36), the account of the transfiguration happens towards the middle of the narrative. It is a key episode and almost immediately follows another important element, the Confession of Peter: "you are the Christ" (Matthew 16:16, Mark 8:29, Luke 9:20). The transfiguration narrative acts as a further revelation of the identity of Jesus as the Son of God to some of his disciples.

In the gospels, Jesus takes Peter, James, son of Zebedee and his brother John the Apostle with him and goes up to a mountain, which is not named. Once on the mountain, Matthew 17:2 states that Jesus "was transfigured before them; his face shining as the sun, and his garments became white as the light." At that point the prophet Elijah representing the prophets and Moses representing the Law appear and Jesus begins to talk to them. Luke states that they spoke of Jesus' exodus (εξοδον) which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem (Lk 9:31). Luke is also specific in describing Jesus in a state of glory, with Luke 9:32 referring to "they saw His glory".

Just as Elijah and Moses begin to depart from the scene, Peter begins to ask Jesus if the disciples should make three tents for him and the two prophets. This has been interpreted as Peter's attempt to keep the prophets there longer. But before Peter can finish, a bright cloud appears, and a voice from the cloud states: "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him" (Mark 9:7). The disciples then fall to the ground in fear, but Jesus approaches and touches them, telling them not to be afraid. When the disciples look up, they no longer see Elijah or Moses.

When Jesus and the three apostles are going back down the mountain, Jesus tells them to not tell anyone "the things they had seen" until the "Son of Man" has risen from the dead. The apostles are described as questioning among themselves as to what Jesus meant by "risen from the dead".

The Vatican and other churches should diffuse the notion that there is a soul in everyman which will enter into the spirit world after bodily death in this world to continue to live in the spirit world as a spirit.

However, Christ Jesus also emphasized that poor men's souls would enter into Heaven but rich men's souls should fall into the hell to be eventually taken out.  As the Vatican and other churches have accumulated significant wealth, and their leaders are rich in terms of material assets they possess.  Therefore, in principle, the Pope and other leaders of various churches are destined to the hell as Swedenborg wrote.  They must be afraid that people would come to think this way if Christian communities followed the spiritual view on the Gospels.     

The spiritualism of today should first give a drastic influence on the Christian communities.

The Spirit World Not Necessarily Safe and Peaceful 

Near-death experiences seem to be experienced or reported by many, probably more than millions of people, nowadays since Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Raymond Moody, etc. launched studies on states of death, dying, near-death experiences, etc. in 1960's and 1970's.

However, states of death, dying, near-death experiences, etc. were reported by Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772) in his books such as Heaven and Hell, Spiritual Diary, etc.  Nonetheless, the Gospels of Christianity are based on the notion that there is the spirit world, Heaven, and the hell where souls of dead men go.  And, even Buddhism is based on such a notion.  Therefore, for believers in Christianity, Buddhism, etc., such a notion that there is the afterlife should be a matter of common knowledge.   

There is also another notion in the Gospels, which is that Satan with evil spirits attacks Christ Jesus and His followers.  So, there is a sense of the war between the God or Christ Jesus and Satan.

And as Satan is also a spiritual entity, the war between Christ Jesus with His followers and Satan continues in the spirit world.  There are may evil spirits in the spirit world as even Swedenborg wrote.

There are also some people who claim that they have the ability to communicate with various spirits in the spirit world and earn money by giving services with the ability to those who want to make communications with spirits of their deceased relatives.  Some people have gained popularity like entertainers on TV.  But, such spiritual business must be dangerous, since there are Satan and evil spirits in the spirit world.

One of main features of Swedenborg lies in this point.  He gave warning against evil spirits who was trying to attack and destroy human beings.  He wrote that malicious intentions of these evil spirits are so strong that human beings would be destroyed by them without protection by the God.  In this context, it can be well understood that the Vatican authorizes some exorcists who are specialized in fighting against evil spirits that haunt human beings.

Indeed, Swedenborg wrote that if human beings saw various spirits and the spirit world while living in this world, they might go mad.  (Swedenborg himself was guided by the spirit of Christ Jesus to see the spirit world.)  So, spirits and the spirit world are usually hidden from eyes of human beings.  The spirit world is not safe and peaceful as some people with spiritual ability say.  And those who had near-death experiences mostly say that they saw only peaceful states of the spirt world.  But what they saw should be just entrance to the spirit world.  If they had really died, they should have seen evil spirits in addition to spirits of their deceased relatives.

One of the reasons why we can trust Swedenborg is that he gave warnings against Satan and evil spirits in his books.  Anyway, we should not forget that Christ Jesus, as a man, was killed on the cross by those who were brainwashed and controlled by Satan and evil spirits.   We need help from the God or Christ Jesus when we handle spiritual entities and the spirt world.  And, it is recommended for people who had near-death experiences or others to read Swedenborg's books.
