"'Cause Baby, It's You"

"'Cause Baby, It's You"

“Employers cut 533,000 jobs from their payrolls during the month, the worst decline since December 1974 and a much bigger drop than economists had predicted.”
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=97851087

If they gently fire you, saying “Baby, it’s you that are to leave,” the time for revolution may be yet to come until you fully study the Gospel and your hidden talent.

SECTION I: THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS

If Thomas had really written down what he believed to have heard from Jesus Christ, it might be regarded as blasphemy to exclude some holy part of his version of the Gospel from the so-called New Testament authorized by church and the Popes.

-----------------------------------------------------
(47) Jesus said, "It is impossible for a man to mount two horses or to stretch two bows. And it is impossible for a servant to serve two masters; otherwise, he will honor the one and treat the other contemptuously. No man drinks old wine and immediately desires to drink new wine. And new wine is not put into old wineskins, lest they burst; nor is old wine put into a new wineskin, lest it spoil it. An old patch is not sewn onto a new garment, because a tear would result."

(54) Jesus said, "Blessed are the poor, for yours is the kingdom of heaven."

(57) Jesus said, "The kingdom of the father is like a man who had good seed. His enemy came by night and sowed weeds among the good seed. The man did not allow them to pull up the weeds; he said to them, 'I am afraid that you will go intending to pull up the weeds and pull up the wheat along with them.' For on the day of the harvest the weeds will be plainly visible, and they will be pulled up and burned."

(58) Jesus said, "Blessed is the man who has suffered and found life."

(63) Jesus said, "There was a rich man who had much money. He said, 'I shall put my money to use so that I may sow, reap, plant, and fill my storehouse with produce, with the result that I shall lack nothing.' Such were his intentions, but that same night he died. Let him who has ears hear."

(66) Jesus said, "Show me the stone which the builders have rejected. That one is the cornerstone."

-----------------------------------------------------

Did Thomas write some to confuse people, since some of words of Jesus Christ he recorded seem to be so sarcastic or nonsense.

Or, was Thomas testing power of words of Jesus Christ?

Anyway, Thomas’ report must be respected if the God had not destroyed it long time ago.

Finally, we might be allowed to think about a possibility that the spirit of Thomas led to the emergence of Islam on the extension of the Thomas’ eagerness and frustration.

SECTION II: This Week’s Invention

A rotating power generator is installed broad-wise below the surface of a road where many cars run.

The main body of the cylinder-like generator is placed under the ground, but its surface appears on the surface at the same level of the road’s surface.

Tires of cars running over it would give rotating power to the surface of the generator.

Indeed, Honda and Toyota in addition to the Big Three should consider their contribution to power generation in a very reasonable manner for them.

That is all for today.

Man is more important than money.

You must not treat money better than man.

Law must forbid a citizen to stay in a state of unemployment so long as he or she needs money.

If nominally, a citizen must continue to be employed by a business as long as he or she wishes, even if a humble salary is provided by the Government and the Central Bank but not by a failing employer.

Every worker has a right to stay in a company like the company's president and chairman in principle, since man is more important than money.

Otherwise, elect a U.S. President from among the unemployed!

12:5 and Thomas' Testimony

(Tokyo and the Tokyo Bay)

12:5 and Thomas' Testimony

On December 8, 1941 (Japan Time), the Empire Of Japan opened war against the United States, the only country then that could defeat the Empire militarily, with a prospect that both the countries would enter peace negotiations in a few years.

(The American Government then had no intention to avoid the war at all, since Nazi Germany had already occupied Paris and air-bombed London ruthlessly, though the long-waited report about attacks by the Imperial Navy came from Hawaii but not from the Philippines.)

Nobody in the Empire of Japan dreamed then that the great war would end with nuclear-war tragedies in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

The only answer to any religious questions to this proceeding of history up to Japan's present day's prosperity and peace might be found in the Gospel, since the God is History.

SECTION I: The Gospel of Thomas

Following are excerpts from the Gospel of Thomas I like to take note of here:

--------------------------------------
(10) Jesus said, "I have cast fire upon the world, and see, I am guarding it until it blazes."

(16) Jesus said, "Men think, perhaps, that it is peace which I have come to cast upon the world. They do not know that it is dissension which I have come to cast upon the earth: fire, sword, and war. For there will be five in a house: three will be against two, and two against three, the father against the son, and the son against the father. And they will stand solitary."

(26) Jesus said, "You see the mote in your brother's eye, but you do not see the beam in your own eye. When you cast the beam out of your own eye, then you will see clearly to cast the mote from your brother's eye."

(31) Jesus said, "No prophet is accepted in his own village; no physician heals those who know him."

(32) Jesus said, "A city being built on a high mountain and fortified cannot fall, nor can it be hidden."

(33) Jesus said, "Preach from your housetops that which you will hear in your ear. For no one lights a lamp and puts it under a bushel, nor does he put it in a hidden place, but rather he sets it on a lampstand so that everyone who enters and leaves will see its light."

(34) Jesus said, "If a blind man leads a blind man, they will both fall into a pit."

(38) Jesus said, "Many times have you desired to hear these words which I am saying to you, and you have no one else to hear them from. There will be days when you will look for me and will not find me."

(39) Jesus said, "The pharisees and the scribes have taken the keys of knowledge (gnosis) and hidden them. They themselves have not entered, nor have they allowed to enter those who wish to. You, however, be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves."

(45) Jesus said, "Grapes are not harvested from thorns, nor are figs gathered from thistles, for they do not produce fruit. A good man brings forth good from his storehouse; an evil man brings forth evil things from his evil storehouse, which is in his heart, and says evil things. For out of the abundance of the heart he brings forth evil things."

Thomas might have been one of special twelve followers of Jesus Christ.

But, he looks a kind of heresy sometimes. Accordingly, the Gospel reported by such an Israelite would not be perfect from an academic or religious point of view.

Indeed, Thomas seems to have had wheat and weeds in his soul.

SECTION II: Japanese Obamas

There are still many politicians in Japan probably senior to you.

Martti Turunen (The Democratic Party of Japan)
Mr. Turunen was born in Finland and came to Japan as a missionary priest. In 1974, he quit his job to be an English teacher in Japan. He became a naturalized citizen of Japan in 1979. He became a National Diet member of Japan in 2002 (thus called "Tsurunen Marutei" here in Japan).

He is of course not a member of the Japanese races, but he must have patriotic spirit for Japan, since Finland is so far.

http://tsurunen.cocolog-nifty.com/nikkann/

KATSUEI HIRASAWA (The Liberal Democratic Party)
Mr. Hirasawa is well known for his involvement in a kind of national efforts to rescue Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea in these decades. The ex-bureaucrat Lower House lawmaker has also made many TV appearances even in entertainment programs.

When he was a university student decades ago, he gave private lessons, as a part time job, to a certain elementary school boy who happened to be the young Mr. Shinzo Abe, now ex-Prime Minister of Japan in the premier office between 2006 and 2007.

Both Mr. Abe and Mr. Hirasawa must be still the most focused-on Japanese politicians by North Korea.

http://www.hirasawa.net/

YORIKO KAWAGUCHI (The Liberal Democratic Party)
Ms. Kawaguchi is one of female ex-elite bureaucrats, since she graduated from the University of Tokyo decades ago, though not from the faculty of law. She was remarkably appointed by then Prime Minister Mr. Jyunichiro Koizumi to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan in 2002, while she had no seat in the Japanese Parliament.

She recently wrote some about the relationship between Japan and the U.S., emphasizing a need for Japan to positively and actively face the world and take actions with the Obama Administration, since her friend in America told her that Mr. Obama shows unwavering determination in presenting his idea as observed nearby.

http://www.yoriko-kawaguchi.jp/official/archives/2008/11/post-86.php

MAKIKO TANAKA (Independent)
She served the early Koizumi Cabinet as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan to be succeeded by Ms. Kawaguchi in 2002.

As her late father Kakuei Tanaka, then Prime Minister of Japan, shook hands with Mao Tse-tung and Chou En-lai in Beijing in 1972, paving the way for the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China, she seems to still have strong pull in Beijing.

As the top leader of the largest opposition party, DPJ, Mr. Ichiro Ozawa was one of closest disciples of Kakuei Tanaka decades ago, Ms. Makiko Tanaka may have a chance to play a major role, again, in the possible Ozawa Cabinet, though most critics and journalists do not seem to like this perspective.

Indeed, black is white; white is black, if the God says so.

Nonetheless, a photon cannot see any color as light cannot see light, since there is no flow of time inside light or a photon.

That may be why the God governs mankind using time which has no effect on Him at all.

Stand as a Single One (The Gospel of Thomas)

(Tokyo)

Stand as a Single One (The Gospel of Thomas)

Folks, stand as a single one to the God or the Constitution, since they do not know what era they are living in.

SECTION I: THE AMERICAN CONSTITUTION

Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s appointment to the Secretary of State is welcomed by about 70% of American voters, according to a noon TV news program in Japan.

Mr. Robert Gates’ re-appointment to the Secretary of Defense is welcomed by about 80% of American voters.

That is why I am telling you that Mr. Barack Obama is not an exceptional member of African races but of European races, though he is classified as an African American only for his color of the skin.

It is not desirable for any lady to become the First Lady, a Senator, and also Secretary of State in her one and only life on the earth.

The American Constitution might be more profoundly wiser:
----------------------------------
Hillary Clinton Constitutionally Ineligible to Serve as Secretary of State
December 3rd, 2008

Not that the Clintons have ever allowed the U.S. Constitution to stand in the way of their political agenda or pursuit of power, but it appears Hillary Clinton is constitutionally ineligible to serve as Secretary of State in the Obama administration. In fact, she cannot serve in this capacity until 2013.

Allow me to explain.
According to the “Emoluments” or “Eligibility” Clause of the United States Constitution, no member of Congress can be appointed to an office that has benefited from a salary increase during the time that Senator or Representative served in Congress. A January 2008 Executive Order signed by President Bush during Hillary Clinton’s current Senate term increased the salary for Secretary of State, thereby rendering Senator Clinton ineligible for the position.

(Specifically, Article I, section 6 of the U.S. Constitution provides "No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased during such time." The provision is seen by most as designed by our Founding Fathers to protect against corruption.)

Former President Richard Nixon did manage to circumvent this constitutional provision after appointing former Ohio Senator William Saxbe to the position of Attorney General. The Nixon administration forced legislation through Congress to reduce the salary for the position of Attorney General to the level that existed prior to Senator Saxbe’s appointment. This scheme, known thereafter as “The Saxbe Fix,” was also used to allow Senator Lloyd Bensen to assume the position of Treasury Secretary under President Clinton.

Still, there has hardly been a consensus on the “Saxbe Fix” at the presidential level. President Ronald Reagan reportedly did not appoint Senator Orin Hatch to the Supreme Court because of this emolument provision and rejected the “Saxbe Fix” as a legislative remedy. Why?

Because “The Saxbe Fix,” does not address the constitutional problem. This type of legislative “remedy” may reduce the salary of Secretary of State to previous levels, but it would not change the fact that the salary had been increased while Senator Clinton served in Congress. Simply put, the Constitution does not provide for a legislative remedy for the “Ineligibility Clause.”

Barack Obama was wrong to appoint Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State for a long list of reasons. But now that we know there are constitutional barriers to Hillary’s appointment, clearly Obama should select someone who is eligible for the position and save the country from a constitutional battle over her confirmation. No public official who has taken the oath to support and defend the Constitution should support this appointment.

Mr. Barack Obama should have asked Ms. Condoleezza Rice or Mr. Colin Powell to take up the post again, in my personal view as a member of an allied nation with the U.S.

SECTION II: The Gospel of Thomas

Following are part of descriptions in the book by Thomas I like to take notes of here:
--------------------------------------

(5) Jesus said, "Recognize what is in your sight, and that which is hidden from you will become plain to you . For there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest."

(9) Jesus said, "Now the sower went out, took a handful (of seeds), and scattered them. Some fell on the road; the birds came and gathered them up. Others fell on the rock, did not take root in the soil, and did not produce ears. And others fell on thorns; they choked the seed(s) and worms ate them. And others fell on the good soil and it produced good fruit: it bore sixty per measure and a hundred and twenty per measure."

(17) Jesus said, "I shall give you what no eye has seen and what no ear has heard and what no hand has touched and what has never occurred to the human mind."

(20) The disciples said to Jesus, "Tell us what the kingdom of heaven is like."
He said to them, "It is like a mustard seed. It is the smallest of all seeds. But when it falls on tilled soil, it produces a great plant and becomes a shelter for birds of the sky."

(23) Jesus said, "I shall choose you, one out of a thousand, and two out of ten thousand, and they shall stand as a single one."

(25) Jesus said, "Love your brother like your soul, guard him like the pupil of your eye."

(29) Jesus said, "If the flesh came into being because of spirit, it is a wonder. But if spirit came into being because of the body, it is a wonder of wonders. Indeed, I am amazed at how this great wealth has made its home in this poverty."

(to be continued…)

http://www.gnosis.org/naghamm/gthlamb.html
--------------------------------------

The Gospel of Thomas is regarded as work in the first or the second century. The author Thomas might have really written what he had directly heard or he had believed himself to have directly heard from Jesus Christ.

(The Nag Hammadi "sayings" Gospel of Thomas begins: "These are the secret sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_the_Apostle)

Anyway the Devil must have been all around Jesus Christ while He was preaching to people including Thomas.

That is all for today.

The Obama Effect has already manifested itself in India, Thailand, and Nagata-Chou, Tokyo, good or bad.

Joh 12:6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

The Gospel of Peter

The Gospel of Peter

The Gospel of Peter might have no value at all, from a viewpoint of no-nonsense study of history and religion.

(It is said that "the book was written at the end of the sixth century, but the text itself dates back to the second century.")

Yet, there is something that has captured our attention:

----------------------------------------
[1] But of the Jews none washed his hands, neither Herod nor one of his judges. And since they did not desire to wash, Pilate stood up. [2] And then Herod the king orders the Lord to be taken away, having said to them, 'What I ordered you to do, do.'

[3] But Joseph, the friend of Pilate and of the Lord, had been standing there; and knowing they were about to crucify him, he came before Pilate and requested the body of the Lord for burial. [4] And Pilate, having sent to Herod, requested his body. [5] And Herod said: 'Brother Pilate, even if no one had requested him, we would have buried him, since indeed Sabbath is dawning. For in the Law it has been written: The sun is not to set on one put to death.'

And he gave him over to the people before the first day of their feast of the Unleavened Bread. [6] But having taken the Lord, running, they were pushing him and saying, 'Let us drag along the Son of God now that we have power over him.' [7] And they clothed him with purple and sat him on a chair of judgment, saying: 'Judge justly, King of Israel.' [8] And a certain one of them, having brought a thorny crown, put it on the head of the Lord. [9] And others who were standing there were spitting in his face, and others slapped his cheeks. Others were jabbing him with a reed; and some scourged him, saying, 'With such honor let us honor the Son of God.'

[10] And they brought two wrongdoers and crucified the Lord in the middle of them. But he was silent as having no pain. [11] And when they had set the cross upright, they inscribed that THIS IS THE KING OF ISRAEL. [12] And having put his garments before him, they divided them up and threw as a gamble for them. [13] But a certain one of those wrongdoers reviled them, saying: 'We have been made suffer thus because of the wrong that we have done; but this one, having become Savior of men, what injustice had he done to you?' [14] And having become irritated at him, they ordered that there be no leg-breaking, so that he might die tormented.

[15] But is was midday, and darkness held fast all Judea; and they were distressed and anxious lest the sun had set, since he was still living. [For] it is written for them: Let not the sun set on one put to death. [16] And someone of them said: 'Give him to drink gall with vinegary wine.' And having made a mixture, they gave to drink. [17] And they fulfilled all things and completed the sins on their own head. [18] But many went around with lamps, thinking that it was night, and they fell. [19] And the Lord screamed out, saying: 'My power, O power, you have forsaken me.' And having said this, he was taken up.

[20] And at the same hour the veil of the Jerusalem sanctuary was torn into two. [21] And they drew out the nails from the hands of the Lord and placed him on the earth; and all the earth was shaken, and a great fear came about. [22] Then the sun shone, and it was found to be the ninth hour. [23] And the Jews rejoiced and gave his body to Joseph that he might bury it, since he was one who had seen the many good things he did. [24] And having taken the Lord, he washed and tied him with a linen cloth and brought him into his own sepulcher, called the Garden of Joseph.

[25] Then the Jews and the elders and the priests, having come to know how much wrong they had done themselves, began to beat themselves and say: 'Woe to our sins. The judgment has approached and the end of Jerusalem.' [26] But I with the companions was sorrowful; and having been wounded in spirit, we were in hiding, for we were sought after by them as wrongdoers and as wishing to set fire to the sanctuary. [27] In addition to all these things we were fasting; and we were sitting mourning and weeping night and day until the Sabbath.

[28] But the scribes and Pharisees and elders, having gathered together with one another, having heard that all the people were murmuring and beating their breasts, saying that 'If at his death these very great signs happened, behold how just he was,' [29] feared (especially the elders) and came before Pilate, begging him and saying, [30] 'Give over soldiers to us in order that we may safeguard his burial place for three days, lest, having come, his disciples steal him, and the people accept that he is risen from the death, and they do us wrong.' [31] But Pilate gave over to them Petronius the centurion with soldiers to safeguard the sepulcher. And with these the elders and scribes came to the burial place. [32] And having rolled a large stone, all who were there, together with the centurion and the soldiers, placed it against the door of the burial place. [33] And they marked it with seven wax seals; and having pitched a tent there, they safeguarded it. [34] But early when the Sabbath was dawning, a crowd came from Jerusalem and the surrounding area in order that they might see the sealed tomb.

[35] But in the night in which the Lord's day dawned, when the soldiers were safeguarding it two by two in every watch, there was a loud voice in heaven; [36] and they saw that the heavens were opened and that two males who had much radiance had come down from there and come near the sepulcher. [37] But that stone which had been thrust against the door, having rolled by itself, went a distance off the side; and the sepulcher opened, and both the young men entered. [38] And so those soldiers, having seen, awakened the centurion and the elders (for they too were present, safeguarding). [39] And while they were relating what they had seen, again they see three males who have come out from they sepulcher, with the two supporting the other one, and a cross following them, [40] and the head of the two reaching unto heaven, but that of the one being led out by a hand by them going beyond the heavens. [41] And they were hearing a voice from the heavens saying, 'Have you made proclamation to the fallen-asleep?' [42] And an obeisance was heard from the cross, 'Yes.' [43]

And so those people were seeking a common perspective to go off and make these things clear to Pilate; [44] and while they were still considering it through, there appear again the opened heavens and a certain man having come down and entered into the burial place. [45] Having seen these things, those around the centurion hastened at night before Pilate (having left the sepulcher which they were safeguarding) and described all the things that they indeed had seen, agonizing greatly and saying: 'Truly he was God's Son.'

[46] In answer Pilate said: 'I am clean of the blood of the Son of God, but it was to you that this seemed [the thing to do].'

[47] Then all, having come forward, were begging and exhorting him to command the centurion and the soldiers to say to no one what they had seen.

[48] 'For,' they said, 'it is better for us to owe the debt of the greatest sin in the sight of God than to fall into the hands of the Jewish people and be stoned.' [49] And so Pilate ordered the centurion and the soldiers to say nothing.

[50] Now at the dawn of the Lord's Day Mary Magdalene, a female disciple of the Lord (who, afraid because of the Jews since they were inflamed with anger, had not done at the tomb of the Lord what women were accustomed to do for the dead beloved by them), [51] having taken with her women friends, came to the tomb where he had been placed. [52] And they were afraid lest the Jews should see them and were saying, 'If indeed on that day on which he was crucified we could not weep and beat ourselves, yet now at his tomb we may do these things. [53] But who will roll away for us even the stone placed against the door of the tomb in order that, having entered, we may sit beside him and do the expected things? [54] For the stone was large, and we were afraid lest anyone see us. And if we are unable, let is throw against the door what we bring in memory of him; let us weep and beat ourselves until we come to our homes.'

[55] And having gone off, they found the sepulcher opened. And having come forward, they bent down there and saw there a certain young man seated in the middle of the sepulcher, comely and clothed with a splendid robe, who said to them: [56] 'Why have you come? Whom do you seek? Not that one who was crucified? He is risen and gone away. But if you do not believe, bend down and see the place where he lay, because he is not here. For he is risen and gone away to there whence he was sent.' [57] Then the women fled frightened.

[58] Now it was the final day of the Unleavened Bread; and many went out returning to their home since the feast was over. [59] But we twelve disciples of the Lord were weeping and sorrowful; and each one, sorrowful because of what had come to pass, departed to his home. [60] But I, Simon Peter, and my brother Andrew, having taken our nets, went off to the sea. And there was with us Levi of Alphaeus whom the Lord ...

Only Similar and Very Similar to be Holy

Only Similar and Very Similar to be Holy

While studying the Gospel, I found one day that it was strange.

There are four versions of the Gospel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

They contain similar and very similar descriptions about words and deeds of Jesus Christ and incidents around Him.

Indeed, they contain similar and very similar descriptions and only contain similar and very similar descriptions.

Something is wrong.

Something is wrong, since those four books were edited, compiled, and issued by different groups of early Christians.

They must be more different from one another, since Jesus Christ is believed to have lived and worked openly for a few years, which means there must be at least 365 times two occasions for Him to deliver holy words and perform miracles.

In the total of the four books, we must find at least 730 different episodes of Jesus Christ. But, the actual number is far less in total.

Something is really wrong.

In addition, there are no enough collateral documents and materials having been written about Jesus Christ by the Romans, third-party scholars, or even some anti-Jesus Israelites in the first century.

They read that thousands of Israelites got together to listen to Him one day when He delivered historic teaching. But, no one among those thousands seems to have told their children later what he or she had heard on that occasion. No live memories of Jesus Christ seem to have been relayed to next generations among those Israelites even till the fall of Jerusalem in the late first century.

When Israelites were fighting the final battle around Jerusalem against the Roman troops, no one seems to have prayed to Jesus Christ for help, though it was a generation before that Jesus lived and worked openly.

But I also found that there is no such a genius in this world today as can find truth of the Gospel.

Newton, Marx, Einstein, Keynes, and Popes all seem to have no wisdom to address this issue, at least, to the extent to bringing me to reason.

(Of course, there is a theory that the Vatican has so actively wiped out and eradicated, in these 2000 years, all the other types of the Gospel and related records and documents concerning Jesus Christ.)

***********************************************

Wisdom is important.

But betrayal runs faster than wisdom.

It is so, since performing betrayal makes some people feel so clever for themselves.

The most important task in reading the Gospel might be to find what it says about betrayal.

For this purpose, all the four books must look similar and very similar and only similar and very similar.

(You don't have to worry about betrayal, since the Christmas season seems to be starting even around the White House or the Louvre in addition to the Tokyo Bay area.

Mr. Heizo Takenaka Bravely on TV

CIA might try hard to purge anybody in any country who would harm reputation of GM, Chrysler, and Ford.

But, I really respect hard-working people in Big Three’s factories and plants.

Yet, Mr. Heizo Takenaka said that the Big Three management should take responsibility.

It would cause moral hazard if they are simply rescued and exempted from management accountability, the most notable Japanese economist so argued.

However, it may be dangerous for any Japanese to openly accuse the Big Three in whatever context if he is the most prominent Japanese economist.

In this sense, Mr. Heizo Takenaka looked courageous in his TV appearance yesterday in Japan.

But, he is wrong to share a view on the lost decade of Japan with his American counterparts, such as Mr. Summers, Mr. Rubin, Mr. Greenspan, and Mr. Clinton.

Do you really think that Japan made no economic improvement during 1990’s after the burst of the bubble in early 1990’s simply because Japanese are all fools?

Do you really think that Japan took 10 years to recover from the aftermath of the burst of the bubble in 1990’s simply because Japanese are all fools?

Do you really think the Japanese people who have built up the world No.2 economy in a century without background and tradition of European Christianity Civilization are simply so foolish that it took a decade for them to dispose of bad banks and bad debts?

Mr. Summers, Mr. Rubin, Mr. Greenspan, and Mr. Clinton think so.

But, Japanese economists, professors, pundits, journalists, and politicians should not join them.

Asian and African economists, professors, pundits, journalists, and politicians should not join them, either.

It is what EEE Reporter has been discussing and proving in these years.

For example, just think how you can bear with it if all the Americans living in the west of the Mississippi are forced to move to California and live there. All the nature of the California state will be destroyed due to the huge economic activities to be carried out there by that half of the American population forced to move and live in the single sate.

Japan’s land size is almost the same as that of California.

And, the Japanese land and nature are holier than the Japanese economy.

*******************************************

That is all for today.

Be afraid of the God who can suppress CIA as well as Big Three management.

Do not make TV appearances so often.

Write some on the Internet if you have something to say publicly, like Japanese Diet member Mr. Ichita Yamamoto.

Lastly, I hope that New President Mr. Barack Obama would buy up Big Three’s stocks and sell them to Japanese and European auto manufactures at fair prices.

Luk 12:1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Luk 12:2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

Luk 12:3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

PAINT IT BLACK & LET RAINS FALL

PAINT IT BLACK & LET RAINS FALL

It is sometimes nice to see something thoroughly black on TV, unless shadows of terrorists in a Mumbai hotel.

SECTION I: AMERICAN DREAM(S)

America spoils American people.

The great nature and territories of America spoil American people.

The vast space and room around people spoil people.

The super-power class military capability spoils people.

Easy import, introduction, and application of fruits of European Civilization spoil American people.

Unlimited labor force, workers, and immigrants coming from abroad who speak only poorer English than American people spoil American people.

But more spoiled seem to be Big Three executives than Big Three’s factory workers:

------------------------------------------------------
Working People and Good Jobs are the Foundation of Our Economy, Not the Problem
November 28th, 2008

As the union representing the men and women who build America, we hear the same thing in the construction industry. Anti-union groups complain about prevailing wage jobs that pay the workers responsible for building our roads, bridges, mass-transit and energy systems in the highest skilled positions as much as $40 an hour. That’s a good, family-supporting job. But it’s less than what a typical corporate CEO literally makes in 10 seconds - despite being in part responsible for our current economic crisis and now lining up for billion-dollar handouts.

Everyone will have to make sacrifices before our economy turns around. Working people have already made more sacrifices than most. But we cannot go backwards, lowering standards and degrading the foundation of the American Dream. Working people and good jobs built our economy and they are the key to our economic recovery.

That is why I am telling you that you can understand what America is only from a religious view point but not from a material-success viewpoint.

If Americans, including Big Three executives and Big Three’s factory workers, get richer and richer but other peoples in the world get poorer and poorer, what is good about American Dream?

Yet, if Americans, including Big Three executives and Big Three’s factory workers, get more pious and more Christian, other peoples in the world get richer and richer.

For global citizens, “American Dream” must mean that America makes the world richer.

On the other hand, traditionally, American pundits have thought:
If America serves the God by diffusing democracy and freedom all over the world as their historical duty and mission, America is allowed to enjoy prosperity more than any other nations, pursuing "American Dream" until all the crude oil reserves underground have been comletely exhausted.

This paradigm has come to the end. Or an era that has accommodated this paradigm has come to the end.

President Mr. George W. Bush is the last President who is allowed to live in this paradigm.

America is now requested by history or the God to respect “New American Dream” that means that “American Dream” must mean that America makes the world richer.

For this purpose, Americans, including Big Three executives and Big Three’s factory workers, must become more pious and more Christian than any other peoples in the world.

SECTION II: This Week’s Invention

Stop wars and build a huge artificial screen or net to capture vapors from the heated sea so as to let them fall as rains on a desert.

Without the Andes, there cannot be Amazon.

But, with another Andes, the regions from the Sahara to the Arabian Peninsula can be another Amazon or Brazil or Argentine, so green and grassy.

So, to get enough rain falls in those regions, we have to set up miles-high poles and fix to them screens or nets that stretche for 100 to 1000 kilo-meters on the dry ground facing a sea so as to exert effect as an Andes.

This project will cost only a few billion dollars.

Oil-rich Islamic countries should adopt the idea to consult with EEE Reporter.

******************************************

That is all for today.

[Yeah, today, my writing looks like tottering and lurching in style and logic like conventional economists now ready for assigning high grades to electric-car ventures in the Silicon Valley.]

(That is why I am suggesting that you will be sorry if you think that Allah never gives a follower of the God, including EEE Reporter, prosperity in addition to security a kind of which Arab Royal families are enjoying along the coasts of the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean.

Luk 11:29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.

Luk 11:30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.

Luk 11:31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

YOUNG POLITICS

(Tokyo Tower and Haneda Airport around the Tokyo Bay)

YOUNG POLITICS

Sometimes I do something that can be otherwise abandoned and left because I don’t have to though I am neither a statesman nor a manager of a religion company.

SECTION I: The Obama Effect on Japan

Will the outcome of the brilliant victory of Mr. Barack Obama influence the Japanese national politics?

Yes, it will; the coalition of the LDP and New Komeito will probably have to give up the reins of government if a snap election is held at any time until the termination of the term of House of Representatives members, namely next September.

However, if the Democratic Party of Japan is put into power with some allies, including a breakaway faction from the LDP, it may lose the subsequent Upper House election due to possible recovery of economy and the rise of patriotism, leading to another unstable condition.

Nonetheless, as it is said that Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, the top leader of the DPJ, is pro-America as much as Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso is, the relationship between Japan and the United States will not be derailed if the regime change should occur in Japan in near future.

Anyway, this afternoon, the two top political leaders of Japan, Mr. Ozawa and Prime Minister Mr. Aso, will have a face-to-face debate in a special session of the national Diet.

SECTION II: Japanese Obamas

There are no African Japanese lawmakers in the national Diet of Japan. Except several Diet (Parliament) members, almost all of the 720 national lawmakers in Japan are of the Japanese race(s).

So, they all look very different from Mr. Barack Obama and Mr. Joe Biden.

Anyway, national lawmakers of Japan I like to introduce here are as follows:

YUKARI SATO (LDP)
Ms. Sato stopped update of her blog this February when her constituency was changed to Tokyo. Yet, she recently reported that she joined a committee on finance to question the Finance Minister on urgent measures to bolster the financial system.

In her home page, she argued that economic growth (lnY) is a sum of a growth of total factor productivity (lnA), a growth of capital (a*lnK), and a growth of labor force (b*lnL):
lnY = lnA + a*lnK + b*lnL

Especially Ms. Sato emphasized importance to strengthen the labor-force base that has enhanced purchasing power.

(Some of her fans say that she has both brains and beauty, since she once studied economics in New York.)

MUNEO SUZUKI (Shinto Daichi)
Mr. Suzuiki, a notable come-back member of the Lower House, criticized Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso for his recent comments. Even the media have dealt severely with recent behaviors of the Japan’s Prime Minister as his words seem to reflect too much of his own personal judgment which should not be expressed publicly as he is the top of the Japanese Government.

Mr. Suzuki argued that as Prime Minister Mr. Aso was born and raised in a super-rich family he cannot understand minds and hearts of ordinary and poor people.

Mr. Suzuki, a veteran but marathon-loving lawmaker, also pointed at the incumbent Chief Cabinet Secretary and Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretaries having shallow experiences in politics.

HIROSHIGE SEKO (LDP)
It must be useful for foreign researchers of the Japanese politics to check his blog, since it shows how a Japanese politician is communicating with supporters in his constituency, though Mr. Seko is a member of the House of Councilors of the national Diet.

Recently he was very much embarrassed to find that a certain high-level lobbying group from his electorate used his title of four years ago in a petition.

He is a busy man since the Upper House is now under control of the opposition parties, consulting sometimes with former Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe and Mr. Yoshiro Mori.

AKIRA NAGATSUMA (DPJ)
Mr. Nagatsuma is a real hero, since he has revealed many errors and breeches of duty of officials of the Social Insurance Agency.

He has made many TV appearances since his investigation gave a great shock to the Japanese people who blindly trusted the Social Insurance Agency for decades.

Millions of Japanese people are losing some part of their promised pensions due to unfaithful performance of bureaucrats.

If DPJ is able to take the helm of the nation in the coming general election, the number-one person of merit is Mr. Akira Nagatsuma, in my humble view.

NOBUTERU ISHIHARA (LDP)
It is not because Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara is the eldest son of political super-star Mr. Shintaro Ishihara, the Governor of Tokyo, that I focus on him.

Mr. Ishihara, a lawmaker of the House of Representatives, presents his interview with former Prime Minister Mr. Jyunichiro Koizumi. However, it was before Mr. Koizumi was elected as Japan’s Prime Ministers in 2001 that Mr. Ishihara had this interview with Mr. Koizumi.

Remarkably, Mr. Koizumi looks like having honestly observed his words he had made public before his assuming the premiership, since he took the seat of Prime Minister until he left it in 2006.

Accordingly, Mr. Ishihara was assigned to some important Cabinet posts by Mr. Koizumi.

***************************************************

That is all for today.

(Indeed maybe they are still young like Mr. Barack Obama if you are much younger, since veterans of WWII seem to have some die-hard influence even today.

http://www.fukuchan.ac/music/gs/anotokikimiwa.html )

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

America and Japan or America and China and India

America and Japan or America and China and India

If the Vatican disappeared, the whole Europeans and European Americans would face a crisis.

If Israel disappeared, the whole Judaists would face a crisis.

If Japan disappeared, the whole non-European races would face a crisis, ironically including American Judaists though they look like members of European races nowadays.

Of course, Mr. Barack Obama is authentically one member of European races, since his mother was one of them.

(But, his daughters might be to be included in non-European races, accordingly.)

Anyway, Japan is unique in that it more than stands alone against the Indian and the Chinese Civilizations as America does against Europe (and Africa).

SECTION I: Brutus and Authority

When reflecting the Bush Administration, the relationship between Ms. Condoleezza Rice and "her old mentor and the nation's realist in chief," former national security adviser Mr. Brent Scowcroft (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/29/AR2005112901502_pf.html) might be a key figure to understanding its underlying nature in terms of its national security policy.

Accordingly, a unique Japanese journalist Mr. Sakai Tanaka wrote that Ms. Rice actually played an important and superb role to pull back the Bush Administration to a middle course after the failure Vice President Mr. Dick Cheney and his hard-line associates had made was publicly exposed. As Mr. Brent Scowcroft was at odds with Mr. Cheney and his company, Mr. Brent Scowcroft, once a harsh critic of Ms. Rice since her riding on the War-in-Iraq movement, came to have a good opinion of the Secretary of State again, since he has figured out and realized what she has meant in these years.

And, most importantly, President-elect Mr. Barack Obama is now showing a sign to take this middle course, too, while acting like a Brutus to liberal and very liberal supporters, though he seems to intend to have Mrs. Clinton as new Secretary of State to check the hardliners associated with the military-industrial complex, according to the analysis by Mr. Tanaka.

Finally, the U.S. national security strategy seems to be rotating around the standpoint of Mr. Brent Scowcroft as a pivot.

SECTION II: Authority and Declinism

Mr. Brent Scowcroft, the authority in the U.S. national security strategy, recently discussed not a middle course policy but American declinism.

-------------------------------------------------------
Is America’s new declinism for real?
By Gideon Rachman
Published: November 24 2008 18:08 | Last updated: November 24 2008 18:08

…last week the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs at Texas A&M hosted a conference designed to discuss the latest, markedly gloomy world view issued by America’s intelligence establishment. Every four years the National Intelligence Council – which oversees America’s baroque collection of intelligence agencies – releases a global trends report, which is given to the new president…

This gloomy mood was captured by the opening address to the NIC’s conference, given by none other than General Brent Scowcroft himself, returning to the institute named after him. The general noted that the US had found itself in a position of huge global power after the end of the cold war, which was “heady stuff”. But “we exercised that power for a while only to realise that it was ephemeral”.

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/ddbc80d0-ba43-11dd-92c9-0000779fd18c.html
-------------------------------------------------------

When somebody goes into the shade, others come out to bathe in the sun.

After the Vietnam war and the collapse of the Soviet Union, it is true that a kind of declinism covered the American society. It was Japan that came out to rank with the U.S.

But, it is China that is going to be the formidable challenger to tarnish the pride of America, the F.T. report suggests.

-------------------------------------------------------
But the “declinism” represented by Prof Kennedy was quickly dissipated by victory in the cold war, Japan’s lost decade of economic growth and the high-tech boom of the Clinton years. All this set the stage for a resurgence of American confidence and the swagger of the Bush presidency.

Odd as it is to recall now, there were people during the early phases of the cold war who were also genuinely worried that the USSR might outperform the US. There was also a national crisis of confidence caused by the Vietnam war, when Richard Nixon warned his fellow countrymen they risked looking like a “pitiful, helpless giant”. In the 1980s, Japan became the new challenger to American supremacy. Now it is China.

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/ddbc80d0-ba43-11dd-92c9-0000779fd18c.html
-------------------------------------------------------

But note that this is an article introduced by The Financial Times.

And, remember that when Lehman Brothers drastically faltered and fell, super-rich fans and readers of The Financial Times were gathering in a world economic forum held in China though they must have been in Wall Street.

Something must be wrong in their argument, since they referred to the NIC report reading that "the rise of China and India suggest that America’s days as the world’s largest economy are numbered" while "Mumbai was rocked by deadly attacks" and "polluting factories in central China sicken farmers."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7751160.stm

http://www.terradaily.com/reports/Polluting_factories_in_central_China_sicken_farmers_state_press_999.html

SECTION III: Declinism and Japan

The above FT report mentioned some about Japan.

-------------------------------------------------------
Odd as it is to recall now, there were people during the early phases of the cold war who were also genuinely worried that the USSR might outperform the US. There was also a national crisis of confidence caused by the Vietnam war, when Richard Nixon warned his fellow countrymen they risked looking like a “pitiful, helpless giant”. In the 1980s, Japan became the new challenger to American supremacy. Now it is China.

Professor Wohlforth argues that the NIC report reflects “a mood change, not a change in the underlying assessment of power”. As he says, rising powers do not always complete their climb and economic strength does not always translate into political power.

This is all true. But there are still reasons for thinking that the new declinism may be more soundly based than its predecessors. China has a record of sustained and dynamic economic growth that the Soviet Union was never capable of. And China’s sheer size makes it a more plausible challenger than a relatively small nation, such as Japan.

This time it really does feel different. But then it always does, does it not?

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/ddbc80d0-ba43-11dd-92c9-0000779fd18c.html

-------------------------------------------------------

A certain Japanese professor wrote that the report reflected an American sense of disdain of Japan.

He also argued that some right-wing politicians and left-wing journalists in Japan have contributed to strengthening this American sense of disdain of Japan against Japan’s interests.

Yet, those who cannot see through the true state of China and India cannot also even reasonably disdain Japan if so logically biased and religuously unsound.

The above report might rather reflect the underlying fear of, and the immature respect for, Japan that for the first time in history has so advantageously competed with Western Christian powers in terms of science, technology, economy, business, and culture.

Compared with the deep impact and shock Japan has delivered and made to Western Christianity-dominant world, including America and the E.U., in these centuries, China and India are yet to prove any of its capability and potential for contribution to the global peace and prosperity.

***************************************************

President-elect Mr. Barack Obama is now expected to take a middle course rather than a clearly liberal-leaning course.

Mr. Obama can be a more honest disciple of Mr. Brent Scowcroft than Ms. Rice has been.

But, one thing crystal-clear is that Mr. Barack Obama will surely try to avoid the making the same mistakes made by his Democratic predecessors in the White House, since his immediate Republican predecessor has shown some good examples as he befriended Japanese Prime Ministers, each looking like posed in the middle between a Chinese leader and an Indian leader in some international summit meetings.

(When there was no declinism in the U.S., the people loved sounds making them feel modestly high. Even the couple in the White House was a symbol of gracefully mild romance; Don’t you think so, Barack?

Like a Hero or an Avenger

(A Waterfall Brook along Town Stairs)

Like a Hero or an Avenger

What will you do if you are another J.P. Morgan or a Prime Minister of Japan?

SECTION I: Postal Service Privatization

A few years ago, the biggest political agenda in Japan was the postal service privatization.

Then Prime Minister Mr. Jyunichiro Koizumi strongly promoted the policy to privatize postal services including postal savings.

However, then Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications Mr. Taro Aso was against the policy, though he did not openly come into collision with his Prime Minister Mr. Koizumi then.

Yet, Mr. Aso is said to have exchanged harsh words with Mr. Heizo Takenaka, a notable economist who was then appointed to a state-minister of the Koizumi Cabinet for promotion of the postal service privatization.

In fact, Mr. Aso was later reassigned to a new post, Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2005, while Mr. Takenaka was promoted to a new post, Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications.

Now, as Mr. Taro Aso is Prime Minister of Japan while Mr. Koizumi has already announced his planned retirement from the politics and Mr. Takenaka has returned to the academic community, the process of the postal service privatization in Japan might be significantly altered.

Anyway, the one-trillion dollar scale of postal savings of Japan might undergo a further change, since the myth of Wall Street is now fading away even among Japanese politicians, economists, and journalists.

SECTION II: Global Economic Boom A Year Ago

A year ago, the world was enjoying great economic boom or at least a sense of great economic boom.

Mr. Taro Aso, the LDP Secretary-General then, wrote in September 2007 that the world was enjoying unprecedented business boom. “Though the housing loan problem is making the situation unstable, the value of the dollar is well maintained. Globally the main trend is toward tightening of money, but the financial market is in a state of a money glut. While crude oil prices are getting high, many countries do not inflate, and there is no deteriorating employment situation. This is a situation no economics textbooks have ever dealt with.”

So, Mr. Aso concluded that we had to expand business, or preemptively take a risk aversion strategy in that unusual economic boom just a year ago.

He finally added that Japan should have more confidence in its underlying strength and vitality the diligent people have built up (over its unique two-thousand-year history).

Anyway, a year ago, the world was enjoying great economic boom or at least a sense of great economic boom.

SECTION III: "Warren Buffett Braves a Crisis"

Though now it seems to be the U.S. Congress that holds a key to salvation of failing businesses, including GM, once it was an individual.

--------------------------------------------------
Like J.P. Morgan, Warren Buffett Braves a Crisis
October 6, 2008, 8:23 am

But those were dire economic times. Morgan gathered his fellow financiers at his Manhattan mansion and hammered out a rescue plan. After a few rocky weeks, the panic subsided.

“In 1907, Morgan was not only committing some of his own money but also organizing the entire financial community to join in the rescue,” Ron Chernow, a business historian and the author of “The House of Morgan” (Atlantic Monthly Press, 1990), told The Times.

Indeed, Mr. Chernow said, one motivation for creating the Federal Reserve in 1913 was that Morgan would not be around forever. Morgan died that same year.

http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/06/like-jp-morgan-warren-buffett-braves-a-crisis/
--------------------------------------------------

Just 100 years ago, the financial crisis on Wall Street was prevented from leading to the whole Great Depression by an individual, namely J. Pierpont Morgan, who took an initiative in mobilizing super-rich people.

Will Mr. Warren Buffett act like another J. P. Morgan?

--------------------------------------------------
As far back as 2003, Mr. Buffett had warned that the complex securities at the center of today’s troubles — once so profitable, but now toxic — were "financial weapons of mass destruction." These securities were engineered by the math quants on Wall Street, and in the interview Mr. Buffett expressed his disdain: "Beware of geeks bearing formulas."

To help pay for the rescue, the government should raise taxes on the wealthy, Mr. Buffett suggested. "I’m paying the lowest tax rate that I’ve ever paid in my life," he said. "Now, that’s crazy."

http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/06/like-jp-morgan-warren-buffett-braves-a-crisis/
--------------------------------------------------

If all the super-rich men in the U.S. become super-poor through taxation or other system to save the world economy, the world economy must be surely saved.

******************************************************

Jesus Christ said that you cannot serve the two masters at the same time, since you will surely hate either of the two.

You have to serve the God instead of Mammon.

Ultimately there are only two things you can love in whatever situations: the God and/or money.

But, eventually you will devote your love to the God, or submit your money to the Devil, both the final collectors of fruits of human life.

So, from a religious point of view, it depends on how much the leaders of Japan and the U.S. as well as super-rich people in the world would resist the reign of Mammon if not welcome the reign of the God, since they are not the Pope.

(Do you know a difference between a hero and a proud man? A proud man cannot be a hero necessarily; and a hero cannot be a proud man sometimes. Choose a humble believer rather than a proud but bogus hero.

MOBY DICKS

MOBY DICKS

Jesus Christ never called the Roman Empire his Moby Dick.

I never call anything and/or anybody my Moby Dick.

Now we have confirmed that Mr. Obama’s favourite book is “Moby-Dick” by Herman Melville.

It is understandable, since he spent his early years in the Pacific Region where American whaling industry was so thriving in the 19the century.

SECTION II: Mr. Rove and "Moby Dick"

On the last Sunday, they aired the interview with Mr. Karl Rove. When Mr. Soichiro Tahara flew to Washington D.C. to hold the interview with President Mr. Bush, he also met with Mr. Karl Rove. Mr. Tahara introduced the video of his interviewing Mr. Rove in the same TV program as the one where he presented the interview with the President.

Rove: 'I'm Moby Dick'

'I'm Moby Dick'
In statements, congressional Democrats assailed Rove — "architect of a political strategy that has left the country more divided," in the words of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill. — with some implying that his leaving is tied to the bicameral congressional hearings about the controversy involving the fired U.S. attorneys...

"It's not figured in my decision, no," Rove said, adding that he's "realistic enough to understand that the subpoenas are going to keep flying my way. I'm Moby Dick, and we've got three or four members of Congress who are trying to cast themselves in the part of Captain Ahab — so, they're going to keep coming."

…Rove said he had "no idea" as to what he will do next. "I'd like to teach, eventually," he told reporters, "but in the meantime, I need to make some money."

Rove, who never graduated from college, joked that he has "an employment record that I think would be attractive to any employer. I've worked in an industrial kitchen in a hospital; I've waited tables; I've worked in convenience stores and have been robbed at the point of a gun twice; I've pumped gas; I've babysat; I've cut lawns; I've delivered newspapers."

He added seriously that "the president has encouraged me to write a book. I will do a book…"

Indeed, Saddam Hussein’s Iraq looked like Moby Dick. President George W. Bush was a kind of Captain Ahab, though so successful in technical terms of the war between the Bush Administration and the Saddam Hussein Administration.

But, President-elect Mr. Obama might also start to act like Captain Ahab with Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Summers as his aids.

In that case, who or what is Moby Dick?

SECTION III: THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN

Now look around. Islamic nations around the Persian Gulf have been economically so thriving.

However, in the west, Israel is still militarily suppressing Arabs. In the north, Iraq is still in a state of a civil war. In the east, Iran is playing a role of a mortal enemy of America; Afghanistan is in the middle of a war with NATO soldiers and the Taliban/Al Qaeda fighters directly exchanging fires over poppy fields or barren lands; and Pakistan is still in the aftermath of the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. In the south, Saudi Arabia is yet to arrest Mr. Osama bin Laden, and the sea in the south of the Arabian Peninsula is full of pirates.

But, Islamic nations around the Persian Gulf have been economically so thriving, since the Bush Administration launched the war on Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan since 2001.

Moby-Dick and the War on Al-Qaeda
Remember the Pequod!
By Brendan Cooney

…It came in as a sort of brief interlude and solo between more extensive performances. I take it that this part of the bill must have run something like this:
"Grand Contested Election for the Presidency of the United States.
"WHALING VOYAGE BY ONE ISHMAEL."
"BLOODY BATTLE IN AFGHANISTAN."

Though I cannot tell why it was exactly that those stage managers, the Fates, put me down for this shabby part of a whaling voyage, when others were set down for magnificent parts in high tragedies, and short and easy parts in genteel comedies, and jolly parts in farces- though I cannot tell why this was exactly…

Chapter One
Moby-Dick

From a sociobiological perspective, the U.S. response to the Sept. 11 attack suggests is either the predominance of the face-saving urge among humans or, more gravely, that those without good self-monitoring will eventually be selected out of the population. That is, unless the United States snaps out of its sense of indomitability, it may be doomed to follow the Pequod to the bottom of the indifferent sea….

But, as Faulkner points out, Ahab is disregarding his own people in taking his ship down with him. Likewise, as hatred of America surely will intensify around the world in reaction to U.S. terrorist-hunting, Bush is taking all of us down with him.

Mr. Barack Obama might become more Ahab than Mr. George W. Bush was.

It is so, since the war in Afghanistan might not yet enter the main stage.

It is so, since financially emerging Islamic nations around the Persian Gulf seem to have no intentions at all to cooperate in putting an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Islamic nations might still want the U.S. to act like Ahab though Moby Dick is not in Afghanistan and Iraq any more.

And, if they are another Moby Dick themselves another Ahab cannot still identify, it is no wonder, since everybody from Israel to the south of the Arabian Peninsula might simply like to see the new Ahab advancing to Afghanistan for more real than the old Ahab.

If Wall Street is Moby Dick, who is Captain Ahab?

(Yet, there is no Moby Dick for me. I don’t even care administrative vice ministers of the Japanese Government. I have been just watching TV news programs since they look like a sort of brief interlude and solo between more extensive performances, Mlles. Or do you like so much the Pequod named after a tribe name of native Americans if not the native French?
