"Till All be Fulfilled"

(Around Tokyo)

"Till All be Fulfilled"

The Democratic Party of Japan has today elected Mr. Yukio Hatoyama as successor of Mr. Ichiro Ozawa.

New head of the DPJ Mr. Hatoyama will lead the party into the coming general election. If he should win over the LDP, Mr. Hatoyama will replace Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso.

The very pro-America LDP looks however die-hard trying to keep power, though the ever increasing gap between the poor and the rich in the Japanese society needs a real regime change sometime.

Anyway, the first Japanese prime minister from the DPJ will be either Mr. Yukio Hatoyama or Mr. Katsuya Okada who has competed with Mr. Hatoyama today, though both of the men graduated from the University of Tokyo.

There are many differences between the Roman Empire and the American Empire.

But, two things are strongly common: money and military.

And, the third one might be their facing a climate change, for example:
---------
Did Climate Change Kill the Roman Empire?
By LEE DYE
Dec. 10, 2008

"We are not able to say for sure that climate change was definitely the reason that the Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire declined, but rather that we now have data that correlates with the hypothesis historians have put forward," Orland said. "We're just adding data to the big pile that's already there."

Scholars have debated for centuries over the causes of those declines, and no doubt much more was at work than just climate change. But some records indicate that trade and agriculture both declined, which could have been caused by droughts. However, many historians also point to high taxes on goods and farmland as a probable cause for those declines.

Little rainfall is sometimes accompanied by a fall of temperature. A dry and cool climate does not fit to the image of the Roman Empire.

Anyway, it was the era when agriculture was the only source for wealth that could sustain the great city Rome where no manufacturing industry existed and no import/export relationship was established with other regions.

If regions colonized by the Romans had suffered from significant decrease of agricultural production due to a climate change for years, the Roman Empire must have lost justification to occupy the region. To feed a million citizens in Rome, they absolutely needed a nice climate.

"Give thy Rewards to Another"

(To and Through Tokyo; click to enlarge.)

"Give thy Rewards to Another"

Look around. You see many industrial products around you. To let them function, you need electricity. But, it is not 1950's or 1960's anymore. Those appliances must be intelligently controlled.

Jet planes, cars, TVs, computers, and cellular phones must be intelligently controlled. Even power generation plants must be intelligently controlled using many technologies which are embodied through various electronic devices.

All the modern equipment is controlled by a small computer chip inside it. The computer chip is called microcomputer (microprocessor).

Of course, there are other types of semiconductor devices Korean makers, Taiwanese makers, and Chinese makers are good at mass-producing.

But, the core of the electric and electronic devices is the microcomputer (microprocessor), since it functions with a CPU, software, and memory inside it.

High quality of this modern life and society is based on mankind's invention of the microcomputer (microprocessor).

But, who produces it most? It is Japan.

Even to save energy in using electric or electronic equipment, you have to control functions of the equipment intelligently. You desperately need microcomputers for energy saving and preventing unnecessary emission of CO2 in addition to realizing complicated and high-quality functions.

To fight the global warming, you need microcomputers (microprocessors). And Japan is the No.1 country in this technology.

The Roman Empire was supported by coins and troops. These are two major pillars that separated the Empire from any other nations with more longer history and culturally richer background.

And, the coins allowed the Empire to recruit and maintain soldiers who served the Empire for the salary paid in the form of coins. This scheme is rather modern than of antiquity.

The Empire must have learnt how to buy service of soldiers as well as engineers.

----------------------
Pay
From the time of Gaius Marius onwards, legionaries received 225 denarii a year; this basic rate remained unchanged until Domitian, who increased it to 300 denarii. In spite of the steady inflation during the 2nd century, there was no further rise until the time of Septimius Severus, who increased it to 500 denarii a year. However, the soldiers did not receive all the money in cash. From their pay was deducted the money spent by the state for clothing and feeding each soldier, therefore the net salary was not very high.

All legionary soldiers would also receive a sizeable sum of money on the completion of their term of service: 3000 denarii from the time of Augustus and/or a plot of good farmland (good land was in much demand). Later, under Caracalla, the praemia increased to 5000 denarii.
...

Roman military equipment, particularly armour, was far more ubiquitous and heavy, especially in the late Republican / Early Imperial era, than that of most of their opponents. Soldiers equipped with shields, helmets and highly effective body armor had a major advantage over warriors protected, in many cases, with nothing other than their shields, particularly in a prolonged engagement.

Roman engineering skills were second to none in the ancient world, and their mastery of both offensive and defensive siege warfare, specifically the construction and investiture of fortifications, was another major advantage for the Roman Legions.

In history, there are only two cases that a nation has not equipped itself with military in proportion to its economic base and technological level.

The first is the Sumerian kingdom of more than 4000 years ago in Mesopotamia.

The second is Japan of today.

Dan 5:13 Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?

Dan 5:14 I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.

Dan 5:15 And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:

Dan 5:16 And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.

Dan 5:17 Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

2) Buddhism emerged, since mankind's early civilization in the east failed around 500 B.C.

3) Christianity emerged, since Judaism failed around the 1st century.

4) Islam emerged, since Christianity failed around 500.

Now, let's check who the Roman Emperor was when Jesus Christ lived and died, since Jesus Christ truly mentioned the emperor in his teaching concerning tax and conspiracy.

-------------
Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus, born Tiberius Claudius Nero (November 16, 42 BC – March 16, AD 37), was the second Roman Emperor, from the death of Augustus in AD 14 until his own death in 37. Tiberius was by birth a Claudian, son of Tiberius Claudius Nero and Livia Drusilla.
....
Were he to have died prior to AD 23, he might have been hailed as an exemplary ruler.[82] Despite the overwhelmingly negative characterization left by Roman historians, Tiberius left the imperial treasury with nearly 3 billion sesterces upon his death.
....

The sestertius, or sesterce, was an ancient Roman coin. During the Roman Republic it was a small, silver coin issued only on rare occasions. During the Roman Empire it was a large brass coin.

"And in His Right Mind"

(Discontinuity of Civilization)

When Christians of the Roman Empire, including the Roman Emperor, started to suppress, segregate, and assail Judaists, the fate of the Roman Empire was decided to be doomed.

And, the Roman Christianity itself proved itself to be fatally flawed, leading to the emergence of Islam.

In short, the three major historical incidents, the predicament newly imposed on Judaists in the Empire, the fall of the Roman Empire, and the rise of Islam were all interwoven in a series of proceeding of the history.

However, blood, sweat, and tears of the movement were mainly embodied through invasions of wild tribes to the Empire, since the Roman Empire was based on coins and troops.

It was not so easy for the great Empire to fall and for its glory and civilization to actually vanish away.

When you are discussing continuity or discontinuity, you have to focus on the magnitude and size of the Empire in addition to the economic and military power.

Indeed people continued to live in Italy and France after the fall of the Roman Empire without interruption; but the splendor and the might of the Empire were not relayed to those people who had no knowledge, know-hows, technology, and management ability of the Empire.

If all the generals and officers were gone, soldiers could not maintain troops or divisions of army. In that case, the army cannot be regarded as continuous in its functions and capability.

For the first half-African/half-European American President to emerge, you had to suffer the 9/11 Terror and the 9/15 Lehman Brothers fall in addition to a $140 oil price hike.

It was not so easy for the American Empire to accept the first half-African/half-European American President.

Accordingly, something may be being discontinued in the U.S.

You, if called a historian or a pundit, had better regard the U.S. as being in the period of discontinuity rather than in continuity.

"Lest a Worse Thing Come unto Thee"

"Lest a Worse Thing Come unto Thee"

One of the big enigmas in history is as to why Judaists did not return to Jerusalem after the fall of the Roman Empire.

Like Europe left the dominance of the sub-tropical Roman Empire, Judaists seem to have left its sub-tropical traditions forever.

But, why could it be possible?

Is it mainly due to the coming of cold climates over Europe?

Do you really believe the originally sub-tropical tribe, Judaists, came to settle down in Poland as farmers in local villages through later centuries?

Why aren't there any stories about the great journey of Judaists from Jerusalem to Rome, the north of the Alps, the Rhein region, and further Germany, Poland, and Russia to become local farmers.

There must be such a story like ones recorded in the Old Testaments.

While we can trace the great journey of Abraham and Moses, why can't we trace Judaists after the fall of the Roman Empire? Indeed, this is one of the big enigmas in history...

Introduction
The persecutions of the Jews during the fourth century A.D. has received scant consideration from the great historians of the Jews such as Jost, Graetz, and Dubnow. Since the fourth century marks the transition from the enlightened toleration of Jews to their bigoted persecution, this neglect by scholars has long needed attention.
...
The legislation of the fourth century emperors at first shows an attempt to protect the ancient privileges of the Jews, and then manifests a gradual submission to the popular Christian demand for persecution and repression. The remarkable coincidence between the fulminations of the church fathers such as Jerome and Ambrose, popular pogroms, and the enactment of repressive laws against the Jews tells the sad story. The fourth century witnessed the passage from Jewish privilege to persecution, from prosperity in the classic world to poverty in the medieval ghetto.

----------------------

The mystery of the fall of the Roman Empire and the rise of the Vatican are yet to be fully explained.

It is so, since there is a deep gap between the glory of the Roman Empire and the glory of Renaissance. It is clear discontinuity surrounded by robust ambiguity.

----------------------
Roman Empire

The Roman Legacy
Many modern historians stress the continuity between late antiquity and the early Middle Ages. Political structures changed and cities declined, but for the 90 percent of the population who worked on the land, life continued much as always. Roman law, the Latin language, and the Christian religion provided an enormous amount of continuity, yet there were also broad changes. Greco-Roman civilization retreated to the Mediterranean, while inland areas lost the veneer of Roman culture.

Buildings collapsed, local populations revived indigenous Celtic art forms, and even Latin was slowly transformed into different languages like Provencal, French, Spanish, and Catalan. The transition proceeded gradually until local creativity shaped the Roman inheritance into the distinctive cultures of medieval Europe.

The rediscovery of Greco-Roman civilization in 15th-century Italy sparked the new era or state of mind called the Renaissance. Sculptors returned to Greco-Roman models of realism, architects copied Greek columns and Roman domes, and literary figures like English playwright William Shakespeare adapted Roman comedies. Philosophers examined the Roman legal codes, and political theorists returned to Roman discussions of freedom and tyranny. Even the Latin of Cicero was revived as a more elevated language than medieval Church Latin or everyday speech.

And the fascination with Roman culture continued as revolutionaries in America and France studied Roman texts and 19th-century portraitists adopted Roman styles. The collapse of the Roman political structure in 476 did not mean that the civilization of Rome was lost.

http://www.crystalinks.com/romanempire.html
----------------------

Stressing the continuity rather reflects a Europeans' wish to be a successor of the glorious ancient Romans.

But, the discontinuity looks like more concerned with paradigms. Europeans did not have a paradigm to establish another Empire after the fall of the Roman Empire. If there had been real continuity in terms of knowledge, technology, economy, and social systems, there must have been another empire in the north of the Alps immediately after the fall of the Roman Empire.

It is so, since Europeans in the Middle Age must have well known the glory of the Roman Empire but they could not build their own empire while nobody harassed such movement, if any.

*** *** *** ***

To avoid future tragedy of the possible fall of the American Empire and also avoid emergence of another tragic Judaists in future or in the 21st century, we have to more carefully study the history with a focus on the fall of the Roman Empire and a state of Diaspora.

"Great is Your Reward in Heaven"

(When the Empire Falls)

Do you want to see the complete fall of the American Empire or the coming of the Ice Age during your lifetime on this earth?

You may be able to, but what does it mean if you die before the 22nd century?

Indeed, without your belonging to history, all of your brain work will be absorbed into the concept of money and self-defense.

Yet, if you belong to history, which is ultimately God, all of your brain work will be related to the universal value system of mankind, which means you are no more a helpless swimmer in the temporal flow of time.

What I want to emphasize is that the lack of effective philosophy during the past Great Depression in 1930's is one of the decisive factors of the tragedy leading to the rise of Nazis.

And, the lack of effective philosophy today can be one of the key factors of the future tragedy involving global warming, cooling, and pandemics.

SECTION I: Two Different Economies

Many American economists and politicians do not still understand something simple and significant while they referring to the Japanese financial crisis in 1990's so often nowadays.

Even in the global era of the 21st century, Japan and America are still two different economies and markets.

If the land of the U.S. was the size of combined California, New York, and Michigan with the same number of the population and GDP, American financial crisis would be more closely related to real estate properties than to financial instruments, making the time for solution longer and the solution itself complicated due to various stakeholders and layered security warranties if not assessment of the value of damage money.

------------------------------
The Japan Times
May 9, 2009

Japan relieved by ‘stress test’

The bulk of bad assets held by U.S. banks, however, are in securitized financial products and derivatives, while the troubled assets in Japan were mainly real estate properties that plunged when the speculative bubble economy imploded in the early 1990s. It is much more difficult to assess the value of the complex financial products and wipe out losses on them than it is with real assets, an FSA official admitted.

------------------------------

Put simply, the American financial crisis could be ascribed to the Mafia-like mind sets of the Wall Street elite, but the Japanese financial crisis was concerned with the national policy of Japan.

As American economists and politicians have no knowledge and education on the Japanese history and politics, they wrongly assume that the Japan's case must be also related to the Mafia (Yakuza)-like mindset, which is very inappropriate.

That is why Japanese people concerned can learn more than Americans in the same trade do in this global financial crisis.

SECTION II: Little Ice Age to Come

It was hot yesterday and today around Tokyo.

But, it might not be part of global warming but part of instability of ambient temperature decreasing toward a new Little Ice Age.

------------------------------
December 6, 2007
Could Solar Inactivity counteract Global Warming?

After a period of very high solar activity (high numbers of sunspots) in the 20th century, our sun has suddenly gone exceptionally quiet, according to astronomer Dr. David Whitehouse...

Sunspots - dark magnetic blotches on the Sun's surface - come and go in a roughly 11-year cycle of activity first noticed in 1843. It's related to the motion of super-hot, electrically charged gas inside the Sun - a kind of internal conveyor belt where vast sub-surface rivers of gas take 40 years to circulate from the equator to the poles and back...

During the 17th century Maunder Minimum, when sunspots were rare, it was also the period of time when the earth's northern hemisphere was sent into what scientists call the "Little Ice Age."

http://global-warming.accuweather.com/2007/12/could_solar_inactivity_counter.html
------------------------------

The month, August 2008, might be recalled in the future as the month when global cooling has started, since no sunspots were observed in the entire month.

It is still hot around Tokyo as the month May. But, it looks like a remained effect of accumulated heat during the past decade when the sun's activities were at a higher level as shown in the above figure.

Some Japanese scientists seem to have openly started to take a stance against the prevailing theory that CO2 emission has caused the global temperature rise.

------------------------------

Japanese Report Disputes Human Cause for Global Warming
Michael Asher (Blog) - January 14, 2009 8:43 AM

Akasofu countered with the statement, "CO2 emissions have been increasing, but the rise in air temperature stopped around 2001. Climate change is due in large part to naturally occurring oscillations". Akasofu says the earth's warming trend began prior to the industrial age, and believes much of the warming seen may simply be a natural recovery from the so-called Little Ice Age, that ended in the 17th century.

http://www.dailytech.com/Japanese+Report+Disputes+Human+Cause+for+Global+Warming/article13934.htm
------------------------------

The Wall Street money believers tried crude oil and subprime loans only to fail and face the "stress test."

But, they have still CO2. They might fully invade the CO2-emission right market with an intention to recover the huge loss they have suffered in the oil and the mortgage markets.

Anyway, investors relying on Wall Street must cool their head. Since a financial crisis would even harm the sound pursuit of scientific truth.

According to a theory, the Roman Empire fell due to a climate change.

At least, it was proven due to the cold temperature in the period immediately after the fall of Rome, no one could build and found another Empire, say for example in south France, to succeed the Roman Empire.

And, when Renaissance began, there was no air of sub-tropical flavor of the past Roman Empire even in the Italian Peninsula.

Indeed, the Roman Empire was an empire of the sub-tropical climate.

Truly, it was the last sub-tropical empire in Europe in history.

P.S. Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, the head of the largest opposition party of Japan, today officially announced his planned but imminent resignation from the post of the DPJ, though he would continute to be a national lawmaker.

So, he will not be appointed to the Japanese premiership if the DPJ should beat the LDP in the next general election.

Incumbent Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso of the LDP might have to meet a more formidable, new rival, if the LDP should secure power...

And, now, friends, you know why I recently rather purchased Japanese magazines each of which cost four dollars or five dollars...

Anyway, this is the biggest news in Japan today as the media have issued extra editions in hasty.

"Be Thou Clean"

"Be Thou Clean"

(Truth of Politics and Economy: Ethics)

That has been a nice week.

It is so, since I myself feel like a movie star flying over the Middle East, making TV appearances in Tokyo, and kicking financial tycoons on Wall Street with the "Stress Test," in addition to enjoying the freshly leafy month of May with old and familiar figures here and there...

SECTION I: JAPANESE MAGAZINES

One of the most popular magazines in Japan, The Shukan Bunshun, conducted a survey on who female secretaries of national lawmakers recommend the next prime minister of Japan.

Today, in Tokyo, there are 400 female secretaries who work for National Diet members of various political parties. They were asked to nominate three candidates among incumbent lawmakers for the next prime minister of Japan.

The result is as follows with five points to the first candidate, three points to the second, and one to the third on recommendation by each secretary.

#....Politician.........Score......Party
1....Katsuya Okada.........73........DPJ
2....Ichiro Ozawa.......67........DPJ
3....Kaoru Yosano..........63........LDP
4....Shigeru Ishiba........36........LDP
5....Taro Aso............33........LDP
6....Yukio Hatoyama......29........DPJ
7....Yoichi Masuzoe........27........LDP
8....Naoto Kan................25........DPJ

Mr. Ozawa is the head of the Democratic Party of Japan, the largest opposition party strongly supported by labour unions.

Mr. Taro ASo is incumbent Prime Minister of Japan, also the head of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan consistently supported by major companies, the most pro-America party.

It is a surprise that these female staff, each actually belonging to one of major political parties and working at the political center in Tokyo, overwhelmingly support the two key figures of the opposition party, Mr. Okada and Mr. Ozawa, against the incumbent Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso.

However, those female sectaries of politicians do not share the common view on politicians, policies, and politics with a majority of voters.

If those female employees work in local towns with less salary, they would surely change their views on those politicians, a kind of tribe living in the power center of Tokyo dealing with governmental billion yen on a daily base.

In the next general election to be held in August or September, in my feeling, I assume that the LDP will win 220 seats among 480 seats of the lower house of the Diet, though the party has now 303 seats. The DPJ will, however, advance to take 200 seats, though the party has only 113 seats now. The LDP and New Komeito will secure power to form the new Cabinet. Yet, my forecast on the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election was sunk by the Wall Street Debacle which negated the possibility of Mr. McCain's victory due to the racial preference among a majority of European American voters. Yet, a winner should be the spirit of democracy always in any election in Japan as well as in the U.S.

Anyway, the opposition to the coalition of the LDP and Komeito will be on the upturn after the general election, even if they should fail to make their dream come true seizing power, since it is the era of President Mr. Barack Obama.

SECTION II: Subprime Loan Crisis

There is still one doubt about the shock wave from Wall Street in September 2008.

If one million very rich and super rich Americans had purchased all the houses on which poor owners could not pay loan anymore in 2008, could have the 2008 Financial Crisis been stopped?

Are the subprime loan-contaminated financial instruments and goods truly the only decisive factor that caused the 2008 Financial Crisis?

Was their another timed explosion in the U.S. economy or on Wall Street?

One of clues is that even Toyota was duped in 2008 and could only sell one million-less cars in the year.

Toyota is not a band of fools; but the fact is that they failed in sales estimation for fiscal 2008, resulted in one-million less sales in terms of the number of cars.

Toyota must have trusted some analysts and economists the Japanese car giant must not.

Wall Street businesses must have too much pretended to trust some analysts and economists the American financial institutions have never trusted in their heart.

It is a matter of ethics.

In other word, the viruses called greed could proliferate but only until their host die.

If all the ethics have gone out of Wall Street, the greed should be also left alone for self-destruction.

*** *** *** ***

If you become one of the elite of an organization everybody in the world envies, hates, or despises, you cannot be regarded as a clever man.

However, it is a little difficult to name all such organizations globally spotted.

So, only I can say to you is leave any organization you belong to, running and running far from it until you meet the God or Allah.

It is historically true that only those who fled from, or left, an organization or a community and spent a fairly long time alone in the desert could meet an Angel of a higher rank.

A man does not find an Angel in his brain cells but in front of him when the level of his mind activities is high or deep enough to see a very fine shadow of an Angel.

Anyway, first quit Toyota or GM and go to the desert to be saved eventually.

"For They Shall See God"

(From the Bay to the North of Tokyo)

"For They Shall See God"

(Finance, Media Reporting, and Politics of a Week)

In Japan, the media say "Hana-Kin" with jollity on Friday, since Hana means a wonderful thing like a flower and Kin is an abbreviation for "Kin-yobi," Friday.

Corporate workers try to finish the day's work quickly at 5 p.m. or so to enjoy the night of Friday.

Indeed, big cities in the world might look the same, especially, on Friday evening.

Yes, you can fly in the Friday evening to Afghanistan from New York to help poor Muslims there and come back to a New York office on Monday morning.

Truly, Friday evening and night can be a challenge if you are an employee of the Federal Reserve Bank.

SECTION I: FRB Stress Test Overview

The current loss rate of 9.1% in the US financial sector is truly comparable to those of the Great Depression Era 70 years ago.

"In total, the estimated loan loss rates under the more adverse scenario are very high by historical standards. The two-year cumulative loss rate on total loans equals 9.1 percent in the more adverse scenario..."

http://documents.nytimes.com/supervisory-capital-assessment-program-bank-stress-test-overview#p=8

Anyway, the above figure embodies our feeling and anxiety that this scale of the 2008 Wall Street Fall might have significance comparable to the 1930's Great Depression.

And, it also supports the idea that the core of the crisis is related to credit supply and credit guarantee not only in major US businesses, such as GM, but also consumers, such as GM employees, since loan is based on the concept of credibility.

In the worst case, if all the banks were wiped away, the U.S. Government could function as a bank to GM and GM employees; but the U.S. Government cannot function as GM and other businesses that employ so many consumers to produce millions of types of products and service.

(The financial sector produces only one type of products: financial instruments.)

SECTION II: Japanese Magazines

There are three types of magazines on sale in book stores and kiosks in railroad stations and so on in Japan.

The first type is of comic magazines. The second type is of women's magazines and various hobby and entertainment magazines. The third type is of social issues, business, economy, politics, and news reports.

One of the third type magazine has recently made a feature of the TV news reporting sector.

The magazine, named "SAPIO," argues that TV news reporting in Japan is facing a crisis.

A TV stations in Japan has in house journalists and reporters who earn high salary, such as 20 million yen ($200,000) per year, but they do not look like working hard and honestly. It is because a TV station often uses subcontractors and outside producing companies who even offer their staff to the news reporting section of a TV station. Those irregular reporters actually work for or in place of regular reporters of a TV station. Yet, those outside staff earn only humble salary, such as 4 million yen per year.

The point at issue is that this situation symbolizes the crisis of journalism and especially of the TV news reporting sector in Japan.

*** *** *** ***

Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso said yesterday in a Q&A session in the National Diet, "I married at the age of 43, but I have children; I have performed my duty."

But later in the Q&A session, Prime Minister Mr. Aso made correction, "I was wrong to have used the word 'duty,' since there are various people who cannot have children for various reasons."

Indeed, a falling birthrate is a serious issue in Japan.

Compared with graveness of this all-Japan issue, whether Mr. Aso will win the coming general election or not might be a minor question.

Anyway, I hope that you do not catch the swine influ.

That is all for today.

"They Shall Obtain Mercy"

(Tokyo)

"They Shall Obtain Mercy"

Today, the Japanese people have started to work as usual after at least four consecutive public holidays.

I had work to do and need to serve the God in the period, so that I did not join the national holiday mood.

And, late in the last night, a female newscaster referred to this series of long holidays, saying, "O-Baka Renkyu" instead of "O-Gata Renkyu," though perhaps only I could perceive the word, since O-Gata means "big" and Renkyu means "consecutive holidays" in Japanese.

But, "O-Baka" in Japanese means a big fool.

Indeed, fools respect holidays. Pious people respect history.

Anyway, I may be able to find a chance to go and take some pictures of Tokyo streets this weekend.

Though American financial institutions took back a huge amount of dollars from foreign markets since Sept. 2008, investment into America from foreign countries drastically declined in 2008.

This might be, however, a good chance to start to consider non-money economy of mankind.

Yet, let's check the data on money flowing in and out of the U.S. as the US Department of Commerce prepared it, since only this money flow can support the huge financial sector of the U.S.

Remember these huge amount of figures are only for indicating money.

A tiny portion of these figures might finally turn to be salary and pay you get. Yet, the value of your precious service and labour must not be based on these figures nobody can control.

Conversely, if nobody receives salary and pay in the form of money, no strange and uncontrollable figures would harm your life and your dignity. It is so since all of the salary and pay you are entitled to receive should be deposited in Heaven

As I mentioned before, without coins and bills, people can live normally as usual as if pretending they were using money.

You wake up and go to a coffee shop. Take a cup of coffee and go out to work in, say, a GM factory. Then work and have lunch at a hamburger shop. Then go back to work and finish it. You drop in an Wal-Mart shop to get some goods and foods. Then you go back to home and cook and eat. In this peaceful day, you do not need any money.

On a holiday, if you want a car, you go to a car dealer to get one. If you want a new house, you go to a real-estate office to get one. In this happy day, you do not need any money.

And, everybody will live like you. Even, the President of the United States of America will go to work to a GM factory and get goods at a Wall-Mart shop like you.

This is one example of a state of the non-money economy.

*** *** *** ***

My advice is that we respect the following equation:

[A total amount of bills and coins] = [Total value of goods and service]

Any amount of money created, used, transferred, and saved while exceeding the balance level of the above equation must be illegal.

However, truth is that as mankind has now ability to produce infinite number of goods and service activities, the amount of money exceeding the total amount of bills and coins can be also infinite.

Yet, acts of production are based on philosophy.

The worst Devil might be found not in money but in philosophy.

The only authentic philosophy is what you can deduce from the teaching of Jesus Christ.

"For I am a sinful man, O Lord"

(Tokyo)

"For I am a sinful man, O Lord"

SECTION I: "All-Night Nippon"

This morning around Tokyo, an NHK radio program presented an interesting guest.

The former president of Nippon Broadcasting System, Inc., who was once a very popular DJ in Japan.

Indeed, until 36 years ago or so, he was called "Kame-chan" as he was a midnight radio show host. The program was called "All-Night Nippon" or something like that. From late 1960's to early 1970's, Kame-chan made his great way into the stardom of the midnight radio show aimed at young people, mostly those who were studying hard midnight for university entrance examinations.

After leaving the radio personality position, he was consistently promoted in the company management to be president of Nippon Broadcasting System, Inc. Then he stood in the spotlight again in 2005, as Livedoor, a kind of IT-related company, tried to buy out the radio company. The target of Livedoor was however stocks of a great amount of Fuji Television Network, Inc. which the radio company held. Fuji TV had its subsidiary company, namely Nippon Broadcasting System, buy and hold its stocks as a management strategy.

It was a very controversial deal. The whole Japanese society hotly debated this M&A transaction, sine Livedoor purchased those stocks in a very doubtful manner and in an illegal way of book keeping.

And, it is said that Lehman Brothers financially helped Livedoor pursue their ambitious scheme of buying up the shares of Nippon Broadcasting System and Fuji TV.

it is said that Lehman Brothers offered 800 million dollars (80 billion yen) to Livedoor as funds to take the management right of the mainstream media company.

However, this scheme ended in the air with so much social objection and doubts rising on the Livedoor's business.

Yet, Livedoor could sell those stocks at higher prices to Fuji TV; Lehman Brothers also got big returns.

Moreover, many young people in Japan started to regard those involved in this incident as a kind of hero, since they got big profits through financial transactions. Young women also wanted to personally access foreign financial businesses, such as Lehman Brothers.

(Even a female TV newscaster looked excited on visiting the office of such a company in a new skyscraper in Tokyo.)

This was the situation around 2005 in Japan, especially in Tokyo.

Nonetheless, a year or so later, the president of Livedoor was arrested and prosecuted for illegal money handling.

And, last year, Lehman Brothers went bankrupt on Wall Street, and its subsidiary in Tokyo was virtually absorbed by Nomura Securities Co., Ltd.

And, Kame-chan, having pulled through the challenge in 2005, vacated the presidency, returning to his old workplace, a radio studio. So, NHK interviewed him in the early morning program, but not as a hero of 2005 but of around 1970.

I also once listened to Kame-chan in "All-Night Nippon." He was sophisticated. As I was not in Tokyo in those days, I thought that a Tokyo announcer was critically different from local radio announcers. "Kame-chan" was truly specifically sophisticated. So, I memorized him.

This morning, I found why. Kame-chan said that he had travelled to California to study media business for one year. It was when three years had passed since his entrance to the radio broadcasting company.

So, he came back to Japan to perform a radio program host in the midnight, targeting mainly high-school students or so studying hard at home late at midnight.

Finally, 36 years after leave from the table with a microphone above it, he came back still with an atmosphere of the California media business of late 1960's.

Through the radio this morning, he really sounded almost preciously as I had memorized decades ago. It was the voice of "All-Night Nippon," though its sophistication has no meaning any more for me, personally, since the show is still going on though without Lehman Brothers on Wall Street and its subsidiary in Tokyo.

SECTION II: The Lehmans

A little information on the Lehmans.

The Lehmans? They’ve Moved On. Sad? A Little.
Troubled Bank Is No Longer the Family’s Business

By Marissa Brostoff
Published September 18, 2008, issue of September 26, 2008.

...
The descendants of Mayer and Emanuel Lehman, two of the German Jewish brothers who lent the firm its name in the 1850s, remain a tightly knit clan ensconced in New York’s upper crust. But they have not been actively involved in the company since 1969, and family members say that they and their relatives are not even shareholders.

In a decision that shook Wall Street, Lehman Brothers, once a major investment bank, filed for bankruptcy on September 15.

“It’s not happy to see one’s family’s name in a situation like this, but I don’t think it’s going to in any way change their lifestyles,” said John Loeb, a great-grandson of Mayer Lehman.

Loeb’s lifestyle has not changed much in his 78 years: He still lives in his father’s mansion in Purchase, New York. A philanthropist and investment banker who served as a United States ambassador to Denmark, Loeb celebrated a recent birthday with a walk down a red carpet at Blenheim Palace, Winston Churchill’s ancestral home.

Now, how can we connect modern American Judaists, like the Lehmans, to the glory of Judaism and Israel?

Or, to what do they belong? To their material success in New York rather than to the glory of their ancestors of more than 2000 years ago?

If so, who in the world is more "Judaist-like" than American Judaists, I have to consider?

Luk 5:3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

Luk 5:4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Luk 5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Luk 5:6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

Luk 5:7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Luk 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

"Rise, Take up thy Bed, and Walk"

(Neither an Air Raid nor a Drill but a Greeting around Tokyo)

"Rise, Take up thy Bed, and Walk"

(Friends and Foes of Judaists since 1921)

A truly harming conspiracy is often found among those who have been regarded as friends of victims but not among friends of oppressors of the victims.

It can be so, since such false friends of the victims could be partially true friends of the oppressors of the victims.

***

For example, the victims could be European Juadaists and their false friends could be U.K. and U.S. leaders around WWII.

In my view, Churchill and Roosevelt were more enemies to Judaists than Japanese were during the Second World War.

I really think so, though the U.K. and the U.S. fought against Nazis militarily to eventually release many Judaists having been forced to work or die in death camps by Nazis and, on the other hand, the Empire of Japan allied itself to Germany militarily but not for ideology or a policy toward Judaists.

Very, very, ironically, Churchill and Roosevelt were more responsible for six million Judaist deaths around WWII than the Empire of Japan was.

So, Judaists today living in New York and Israel must totally change their views on Japan (and the Empire of Japan) if not on Churchill and Roosevelt.

Sir Martin Gilbert is a renowned British historian, as well as Winston Churchill's official biographer...

His latest book, Churchill and the Jews: A Lifelong Friendship, provides a road map of the statesman's intricate relationship with Jewish personalities and issues during his lifetime. It also unites Gilbert's two primary interests - Churchill and the Jewish people...

World Jewish Digest (WJD): Could you briefly explain the ways in which Churchill advocated for a Jewish homeland in Palestine?

Sir Martin Gilbert (SMG): His principal involvement began in 1921 when Prime Minister Lloyd George appointed him as colonial secretary with special responsibility for working out the rules and regulations of the Palestine mandate with regard to the Jewish national homeland. The first [notable] decision he made was to give the Zionists...monopoly power to modernize the country - to harness the waters of the Jordan and Yarkon rivers for electrical power, which not only would create employment for both Jews and Arabs, but also enable the Jews to begin to plan for substantial urban and rural development in Palestine. Although Churchill's decision led to fierce anti-Semitic outbursts against him in the British House of Commons, he unfailingly maintained it because he truly believed the Zionists would make something special of Palestine. He stressed over and over that it was the British government's duty, and to a certain extent the British taxpayer's obligation, to make sure that the Jews could build up the industrial potential of Palestine.

Churchill???
I can't see how Churchill or any other leader of WW11 could have been in favour of Jewish people. If it was so he would have faught tooth and nail to free the Jewish people from hitler's grasp. And we can't pretend he didn't know because the world did know. The leaders that is. It was Churchill who only let in a certain number of Jewish people into England from 33-45. America, England and Russia were tight fisted and fast friends. The Jewish people had to turn to Asia in the end to escape.

6 million precious precious precious men women and small children were murdered in the most horrific way because leaders like Churchill turned his back on them. Churchill was looking for politicle gain and that is all if he actually smiled at the Jewish people at all at all. Please lets not forget those precious lives and their generations murdered at the hands of the world leaders of the time.

-------------------

However, the truth can be indicated as below.

The more crude oil fields were discovered in the Middle East, the more Palestine and Israel became important. And, the development of crude oil business and the deployment of Israel have evolved in parallel since the end of WWII.

The Anglo Saxon super-rich people found that they could play a role of an intermediary between Israel and Arab oil producing states, which contributed to securing their favorable position in the crude oil business and the oil dollar business.

Accordingly, they need a myth that Churchill was a friend of Judaists from the bottom of his heart, which is quite dubious, since Churchill mainly worked on Iraq before WWII as Iraqi crude oil could be a big source of fuels for British Naval ships.

*** *** *** ***

The current global financial crisis is the result of movement between Anglo-Saxon super-rich men, Judaist super-rich men, and Arab super-rich men.

This movement could be regarded as having been initiated and promoted by Churchill and the likes.

So, to prevent another global financial crisis, the world majority must cautiously check the movement between Anglo-Saxon super-rich men, Judaist super-rich men, and Islamic super-rich men.

It is so, since the Wall Street debacle happened when the crude oil price started to plummet down toward $40 from $140 in August 2008.

That is all for today.

Have a nice public holiday tomorrow, if you are working in Japan but not in the media industry, such as a TV station.

Joh 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

"Sharp as a Two-Edged Sword"

(Around Tokyo)

"Sharp as a Two-Edged Sword"

(Islam and Swine Meat or Crude Oil)

Live, just being surrounded by enemies 24 hours, seven days per week.

Then you will know how strange it is for a man to die of an infectious disease.

Indeed, ancient Israelites were wandering in the Sinai desert where they found no friendly tribes for 40 years after the Exodus, so as to go crazy revering a gold calf, which Moses sternly corrected with horrible punishment as the God so wished.

So, friends, 40 years is the norm here, rather proudly.

SECTION II: "Mideast and cheaper oil"

Now you know Churchill is ultimately responsible for the present tragedy of Iraq.

You must also know that Former President Mr. George W. Bush highly respects Churchill.

One of the reasons for Mr. Bush's obsession with Iraq before September 2001 looks like having been rooted in his admiration for the Churchill's success in management of Iraq rather than his victory over Hitler.

Mideast and cheaper oil
David Howell

Certainly in OPEC circles and among policymakers in the leading producer states there are some signs of apprehension. They can see a picture emerging, at least in the West and in Japan, of a world of electric transport, nuclear electricity, far greater energy use efficiency and green non-oil energy sources, notably wind power, biofuels and solar power in place of the almost total world oil dependence of the last century.

However, Dubai's mounting debts and bankruptcies have led to some shaking of Arab heads about dangers of going too fast along with this route. Bahrain with dwindling output, serves as a less extreme example of this pattern, or has at any rate avoided the property bubble effects and spending inefficiencies that have forced Dubai to turn next door to Abu Dhabi for help.

Somewhere among these assessments and hopes there is a place for a real vision of a more stable and more prosperous Arabia, lifting itself from the "curse of oil" and from the unbalanced and distorted societies, and disparities of wealth, that have been hall mark of the oil-producing states.

Perhaps they might then open the path to a more dynamic and creative pattern of social and economic advance, recalling the medieval days of Arab greatness and intellectual leadership to which the whole world once looked for enlightenment.

---
David Howard is a former British Cabinet minister…now a member of the House of Lords.
-----------------------------------------

This author, one of the British elites, sounds polite and friendly to Arabs in his writing.

But, it is a lack of full respect for Islam that I sense therein, since the author never uses the words "Islam" and "Muslims" in this long essay dealing with Arab states.

He even does not mention a kind of offset balance of democracy and Islam therein.

The British elite has no intention to help Muslims while Allah seems to request rich men, very rich men, and super rich men of England help Muslims; they are just displaying their superior position to the Arab nations.

So, Muslims must forget about oil and money; they have to develop Islam so that their religion can save them. They have to find a way to leverage Islam for their future development in every field of human activities, including culture, philosophy, science, technology, industry, business, and education.

I really recommend them to go back to the glory of Abraham, if not the glory of the Mesopotamia civilization.

Otherwise, poor and pious Christians in the world might think the view Anglo Saxon and Judaist elites take of the Islamic world should be respected.

The future glory of Muslims and the Islamic world is only possible through development of Islam, but not higher prices of crude oil the abundant existence of which in the Gulf Region is undoubtedly part of the glory and mercy of Allah to pious Muslims (therefore the crude oil business must be based on the teaching of Islam).

*** *** *** ***

That is all for today, since Muslims do not eat swine meat though I am allowed to take it by the God Almighty.

Have you ever been exceptionally and directly by Allah?
