"they are the sons of God"
A Big Villain Looking Innocent
NHK invited to its TV studio in Tokyo many Japanese youths and South Korean youths for discussion to improve mutual understanding together with a South Korean movie director, a Japanese professor, etc.
Unbelievably, in a TV program being broadcast all over Japan, the middle-aged Korean movie director insulted a Japanese young man who candidly spoke his thought on the Japanese ruling of the Korean Peninsula before WWII. It is unthinkable. It was televised all over Japan. But, the Korean movie director insulted a Japanese youth who candidly spoke his thought on the Japanese ruling of the Korean Peninsula before WWII, in a TV debate program being broadcast all over Japan.
However, there must have been more stupid and dangerous guys in Korea before the annexation of Korea in 1910.
SECTION I: Pearl Harbor and Kobe
In 1941, Japanese pilots of the Imperial Navy attacked U.S. soldiers, but not U.S. citizens, well armed and shooting bullets to the sky endlessly in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
In 1945, an American pilot attacked a Japanese young woman without any arms running on the street of Kobe City, Japan, shooting to her back from the sky above.
But, the God forced the American coward pilot to stop shooting and saved her, according to a testimony of the young Japanese woman who is now 88-years old with two children and five grandchildren.

It was one of many such examples of Americans' strafing Japanese citizens, including the current Tokyo Governor Mr. Shintaro Ishihara. Hundreds of coward American pilots pulled the trigger of machine guns equipped on their fighter planes on the streets and fields of Japan to kill young women and children in 1945.
Yet, those young Japanese women and children killed by coward American pilots in 1945 were not enshrined in the Tokyo Yasukuni Shrine, since the Shrine is for paying respect for fallen soldiers since the Meiji Restoration of the imperial authority.
SECTION II: Okinawa to Guam
The U.S. Government has come to realize that they made a big mistake, believing that the world in the 21st century would be governed by G2, America and China.
However, the only ground for this concept is that China's GDP would soon be bigger than Japan's; China would be more hi-tech and advanced economy than Japan would be; and China would purchase U.S. Treasury bonds twice or three times more than Japan have purchased, all of which is meaningless, since China does not share democratic ideal with America and China has a danger of a civil war inside since its establishment in 1949.
The U.S. Government foolishly launched a plan to pull back its main defense forces from the line linking the Korean Peninsula, main land Japan, and Okinawa to the backward line from Hawaii to Guam, since China is a semi-allied country so friendly to Washington and Wall Street.
As the first step, the U.S. Government decided to relocate its Marines division stationed around Futenma, Okinawa, to Guam, while keeping a new air station in Henoko, Okinawa.
But, as now the U.S. Government has realized that China might not be the best friend of Washington and Wall Street, they start to change the plan. They find a possibility that they will lose friendship of Japan and face betrayal of China. America might lose both Japan and China (and South Korea) as friendly nations, while there is no assurance that the Islamic world will come to respect America more as a result of the Iraqi War and the Afghan War.
In order to keep the American main defence force in Okinawa, however the U.S. Government must make concession so as to lessen a burden Okinawa people have suffered so long. Otherwise, their presence in Okinawa and Japan loses justice. Besides, most of operational costs of the American bases in Japan are covered and incurred by the Japanese Government. Even, the U.S. Government shamelessly requested the Japanese Government to pay the bills for construction of houses and other facilities in Guam to be used by American Marines who will be sent to the middle east and Afghanistan mostly.
Strategically, if the U.S. Government continues to take responsibility for peace in the Far East, its plan to move Marines and other key forces from Okinawa and Japan to Guam is nonsense, since China has no intention to operate in the Far East in a friendly manner as G2.
Politically, if the U.S. Government does not make any efforts to reduce burdens the Okinawa Island and Okinawa residents have suffered, its new idea to stay in Okinawa and Japan as before is also nonsense, since most of the Japanese people have come to realize that America does not respect Okinawa people and Japanese voters.
(Arrogant China thinks that they will soon overwhelm Japan and America in the Far East with their military expansion. And, Koreans, Taiwanese, and Japanese might obey instructions issued from Beijing by leaders of the Chinese Communist Party. America will lose the War on Terror eventually. America will leave Asia. This is their ultimate idea on the future, which tells how blind and foolish Chinese elites are. In this process pursued by them, another Chinese civil war and revolution will occur, abolishing the ruling by the Chinese Communist Party. The new democratic Chinese Government will desperately need help from Korea, Taiwan, and Japan if not from the U.S.)
So, people and elites concerned should think over this dilemma the U.S. Government now faces.
One solution is for Japan, South Korea, and the U.S. to strongly request China to reduce its military capability.
China must abandon its defence concept of "the First and Second Marine Defence Lines."

SECTION III: The Russian Empire to Take Korea
Today NHK broadcast a discussion program inviting to its studio in Tokyo many Japanese youths and South Korean youths together with a rude South Korean movie director, a Japanese professor, an ex-Japanese diplomat, etc.
Stupidly they did not talk about how much Japan paid compensation after WWII and how much assets Japan left in Korea after WWII.
They did not talk about why Koreans did not resort to resistance, sabotage, terror, and any guerrilla war against the Empire of Japan for 36 years at least after the annexation.
But, most disappointing is that they did not talk about the Qing (Ching) dynasty to which the Kingdom of Korea nominally belonged and the Russian Empire that tried to colonize Korea and the Empire of Japan.
----------------
The Russians and the Japanese were both part of the eight member international force which was sent in to quell the Boxer Rebellion and to relieve the international legations under siege in the Chinese capital. As with other member nations, the Russians sent troops into Beijing. Russia had already sent 177,000 soldiers to Manchuria, nominally to protect its railways under construction. The troops of the Qing empire & the participants of the Boxer Rebellion could do nothing against this massive army. As a result, the Qing troops were ejected from Manchuria & the Russian troops settled in.[6] Russia assured the other powers that it would vacate the area after the crisis. However, by 1903, the Russians had not yet established any timetable for withdrawal[7] and had actually strengthened their position in Manchuria.
The Japanese statesman, Itō Hirobumi, started to negotiate with the Russians. He believed that Japan was too weak to evict Russia militarily, so he proposed giving Russia control over Manchuria in exchange for Japanese control of northern Korea. Meanwhile, Japan and Britain had signed the Anglo-Japanese Alliance in 1902, the British seeking to restrict naval competition by keeping the Russian Pacific seaports of Vladivostok and Port Arthur from their full use.

----------------
Without the Empire of Japan, the Russian Empire would have permanently occupied Manchuria and then North Korea to South Korea, while driving out the ruling class of Qing out of Beijing.
Like the British Empire colonizing and occupying India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Malaysia as well as Singapore, the Russian Empire tried to colonize Manchuria, Northern China, Korea, and Japan, in which Russians failed completely due to the defeat in the war against the Empire of Japan.
This is the key situation that led to the annexation of Korea to Japan, since Korean rulers and elites then did not understand this situation still relying on decaying Ching.
However, when WWII ended, most of Koreans wanted independence from Japan. So, the Empire of Japan did not receive any thanks from Koreans, though the Empire had executed so much national budget in, and invested so much into, Korea and educated Koreans so much, unlike colonization by Western powers who simply exploited Africans and Asians. The Empire should not have annexed Korea, though in that case Kore might have been colonized by Russians, or all the Korean Peninsula today should have been called "North Korea."
This is the story on the Japanese side. You may listen to Koreans, including a rude S. Korean movie director.

Recently I read a book about a female interpreter, educated in France, of Empress Dowager Xi Taihou (1835-1908) (Seitaikou in Japanese) of Ching.

Even a story of a female interpreter, educated in France, of an Empress Dowager of Qing is so strange, complex, and fascinating.

You should not judge a whole story of the Empire of Japan, since the Kingdom of Korea had gone, the Russian Empire had gone, the Qing Dynasty had gone, and the Empire of Japan itself had gone in the first half of the 20th century.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
