"but wait for the promise of the Father"

January 1, 2010

Human Wisdom and Divine Grace

One of the important holy phrases is "however the best way is love."

In the beginning of spiritual life of human beings, faith and love must be united. But, they seem to have separated from each other as time went by.

So, some people today hate others in the name of their faith. Other people today reject faith in the name of love for happiness.

But, followers of Christ Jesus concluded 2000 years ago or so that "however the best way is love."

Takeda Shingen

Takeda Shingen, one of samurai heroes in the 16th century of Japan, said:

"In general, a son of man will not lose what his mind understands and accepts when he is around 12 or 13 years old. Especially the important age for him is when his voice changes. If a boy befriends an honest one at this age, he will be honest, too. If a boy befriends a liar at this age, he will be a liar, too. If he happens to be engaged in business at the age of 14 or 15, he will never lose a business mind all though his life.

It is good to employ a man who is a little obtuse.

Whatever he is, a samurai is not good if he is praised by 99 people among 100. Such a samurai is either a frivolous man, a tricky man of resources, a thief, or a fair-spoken man."

When a freelance samurai came to Shingen to be employed, his vassals said to their lord, "This one has an ancient and honorable origin enough to be one of our colleagues." So, Shingen provided a dinner for the samurai while observing him in secret. And then, samurai lord Shingen said to his vassals, "This man is not a master-less samurai; let him leave." Afterwards, it was found that the self-described freelance samurai was a spy the shogunate in Kyoto had sent to Shingen, one of leading samurai lords in Japan at the time, since the Takeda clan occupied large mountainous areas between Nagoya and Kanto.

Takeda Shingen is believed to have unified whole Japan before Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hudeyoshi, or Tokugawa Ieyasu, if he did not happen to die in his decisive military campaign, mobilizing 25,000 samurai soldiers, toward Kyoto for a mysterious cause.

Shang Yang (Shou-Ou in Japanese)

Shang Yang (商鞅, 390 BC-338 BC) was a notable statesman of the State of Qin during the Warring States Period of Chinese history, namely 100 years before Qin became the first Chinese empire in 221 B.C.

He formulated excellent law for the nation. But, before issuing a promulgation of the law, he put a simple stake in the ground of the marketplace of Qin's capital, announcing that anybody that would carry the stake to a north corner of the capital would be rewarded with ten gold coins. But nobody tried because they did not believe that money would be eventually paid for such a simple task. So, Shang Yang announced that anybody that would carry the stake to a north corner of the capital would be rewarded with 50 gold coins. Then, one citizen did the simple task; he was paid the 50 gold coins. After this training, Shang Yang first proclaimed the law. Accordingly, Qin's people well observed the law on the faith of the Qing Court.

After 10 years, nobody took a coin or other goods for himself, if he had found it left on the street. All the bandits in mountains disappeared. People were living in peace, but bravely serving military service for the state. So, some people came to Shang Yang, praising the law he had formulated. But, these people were forced to leave the capital and live in a remote place as a kind of punishment. Shang Yang said, "Those who complain about law disturb law. Those who praise law also disturb law." Eventually, the people of Qing simply obeyed state laws without arguing merits and demerits of the laws.

Followers of Confucianism believed that the code of political conducts did not apply to those ranked below the scholar-bureaucrat class; law did not apply to those in or above the scholar-bureaucrat class. However, Shang Yang thought law applied to every class equally. So, after a few generations, Qin conquered whole China of the era through severe wars.

Though Shang Yang was later brought down by his enemy and a new king of Qin, he actually set foundations of the future Empire of Qin.

It is thought that space and time were not separated at the moment this universe emerged in emptiness.

Then, namely after 10^-36 seconds, the whole universe developed to the size with the diameter of 1 cm or half an inch. At this stage time and space were already separated.

But, they are a length of time and a size of space of universe conveniently defined in our application of a certain theory to the present state of the universe. In this application, a constant change of time and a constant scale of space are assumed, so that we use the units "second" and "meters" without doubt. But, I have a feeling they are not constant.

T: a rate of change in physical time
S: a scale of space
t: primary time

S x T/dt = Constant

In my feeling, when the whole universe was a globe with the diameter of mere 1 cm 15 billion years ago, the change in change of physical time must have been very fast. As the whole universe of today is said to have a size of 46.5 billion light years, the change in change of physical time must be very slow now, though we cannot feel it, since it is not simply physical.

In order to measure the change in time which we cannot feel as we live along with physical time, we have to introduce a new concept of primary time which must be defined based on the state of the moment when the universe emerged with time and space united about 15 billion years ago. Primary time is time in this physical space/time energy complex.

This is my first dream of the year.

The God is the sole creator of original time, space, and energy, which allowed for formation of atoms and molecules as time went by.

So, my God is essentially God of everybody living in the universe or on a part of it called the Earth.

This is my first praising of the Lord God Almighty in this year of 2011.

On the white background
The sun is truly red and round
Ah beautiful, the flag of
Japan is so dyed.

With the spirit of morning
and the sun rising
Ah bravely, the flag of
Japan is so fluttering.

Even a first-year-grade girl could sing the Song of Hinomaru (the flag of the Rising Sun) so faithfully before WWII. So, please be faithful to your good faith.
