70% of Chinese Petitioners Beaten


I got a piece of information on poor people in China.

A large number of poor farmers and workers in local areas have come to, and are staying in, the capital of China, Beijing, to appeal directly to the central Government.

They are suffering from injustice and unjust transactions by local authorities in tie-ups with gangsters.

Their farm lands have been abused, contaminated, or confiscated illegally; a budget of a village or a local town is being usurped; and their human rights are being suppressed by violence.

But, more significantly, 70% of those petitioners to the central Government is beaten and violated as retaliation by local officers when they have returned home, according to a special survey.

Even when they are waiting for a chance to file a petition to a concerned public office, it usually takes several months; and some of them become homeless in Beijing.

Now, there are several thousands of such farmers in Beijing, though the number would increase to tens of thousands, when a big conference is held in the capital.

Anyway, the world should more carefully examine reports from China which is going to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.

China was traditionally a country of Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. But, since the Chinese Communist Party won the civil war after WWII, Marxism has been adopted and applied, wiping out some important traditions.

Though Chinese people can individually rely on its long history and traditions, especially nowadays in the era of market-oriented economy, the social system is still based on the philosophy which was devised in the European Christian Civilization.

(Marxism is regarded as anti-religion, but it is in fact anti-Christian-Civilization. Karl Marx was born in an Israelite family; and thus though he later converted to Protestantism and atheism, he might have wanted to challenge the Christian civilization, which was then not beneficial to poor Europeans, no matter if consciously or unconsciously.

Adolf Hitler must have taken Marxism as anti-Christian-Civilization philosophy. Hitler must have partly believed that he was doing a right thing by attacking Israelites, one of whom had come up with the philosophy, so as to defend the Christian Civilization in Germany.

Hitler's attacks on Israelites and the Soviet Union were carried out from the same motivation no matter if it was just a veneer one to mobilize German citizens: defending the Christian Civilization in Germany from Marxism, the anti-Christian-Civilization philosophy, and from Israelites, one of whom thought up the philosophy [probably according to Hitler's interpretation, with a dangerous intention deeply hidden inside against Christian society].

In any kind of way, I do not defend Adolf Hitler, who distressed Japan even after WWII due to its coalition with Germany during the war, at all. I love to see "The Great Dictator" Charles Chaplin produced.

But, as Hitler had hit the crucial point, "Defense of European Christian Civilization," even ordinary and sensible German people were tragically induced to follow him; consequently they attacked Israelites with religious justification internally for which each Christian system in Europe should be liable, at least, to a certain degree.

Finally and most importantly, Chinese ministers and high-ranking officers of their Party and Government should not, in any circumstances, blame a Japanese Prime Minister as being "another Hitler" in this era of peace in the Far East.)

In extreme argument, Chinese are apt to pursue materialism, while Japanese adore spiritualism.

Of course, God is spirit as well known in the Christian Civilization.

(A human relationship should be also spiritual. Spirit can send message beyond time and space. But, a human body cannot)

Probably I have to add some explanation to a certain incident in the following presentation:

Among the above stated incidents, the least known one must be "Japanese Buddhism Enlightened (around 1300)."

Today, there is one specific political party in Japan which has joined and formed a coalition cabinet with the Liberal Democratic Party.

The party is called "New Komeito" which is often regarded as a religious party and thus considered by many to be controversial or unconstitutional in the worst sense.

The supporters of this party mostly belong to a quasi-religious body called "Soka Gakkai." Most members of Soka Gakkai believe in teaching of one of prominent Buddhist priests who emerged around 1300 or the 13th or 14th century in Japan.

Nonetheless, "Japanese Buddhism Enlightened (around 1300)" was not carried out by a single prominent monk; there were some other great Buddhist monks in the era when the first samurai regime was established in Japan.

The advents of those enlightened monks had really changed the state and practices of Buddhism in Japan. The religion had truly come to become Japanese.

The era is also remembered today for Mongol invasion attempts against Japan, specifically in 1274 and 1281.

The Mongol Empire or the Yuan dynasty (so called as they also occupied China), which conquered almost all the nations in Asia from Korea to China, North India, Persia, the Arab land, Russia, and Turk while invading East Europe, failed in invading Japan and got defeated by samurais who were luckily helped by a typhoon or a mighty summer tempest each time Mongolian fleets attacked Japanese coast lines.

(This summer tempest or typhoon is later called "Kamikaze," literally meaning the God Wind.

Additionally, Marco Polo visited the Yuan dynasty and later wrote about Japan as a kind of miracle countries full of gold in his travel record which eventually drove Christopher Columbus to the famous adventurous voyage heading for Japan but actually leading to the discovery of America. In this context, if samurais physically and Buddhist monks spiritually had not defeated Mongolian invasion and aroused special interest in Marco Polo, Columbus might not have discovered the new world America.)

Facing a national crisis brought by the mightiest bellicose empire in the human history, the Mongol Empire, Japanese needed spiritual leaders. And spiritual work among people as well as monks got activated. It led to emergence of new denominations and reinforcement of conventional denominations of Japanese Buddhism.

It changed the Japanese spiritual world. Just like samurais who defeated the world-strongest invading troops and got confidence, the Buddhism monks achieved the world-class and historic enlightenment.

Though I do not belong to any religious denomination or sect or political party, I respect freedom of people to use such organizations.

But, my advice is that you should not let anyone interfere with your direct relation with God.

The issue is rather whether we are now facing the strongest enemy, such as the Mongol Empire in the 13th century, and what faith we need to stand fast against it.

Every 600 years or 700 years, God has interfered with mankind to develop its spiritual world for driving the history.

The above noted is the sequence of emergence of underlying spiritual conditions that have formed present-day world major forces.

Whether you believe or not, this sequence can be expanded and detailed to describe the whole human history and the present-day world situations.

For example, all the major players today, Europe/Russia, the U.S., Japan, Islamic countries, China, India, and Israel, are all covered in this sequence.

But, the issue is how much you can praise the God or Allah, observing the all elements "objectively."

(It would be very difficult, unless you are Japanese or you belong to a race which has nothing to do with the above historic elements, to praise glory of mankind, given by the God through the history, adequately.

In any humble way, personal and friendly association with Japanese may be of help to you for understanding the Divine Will, depending upon your vocation.)

We enjoyed sports programs last Saturday in Japan.

Then, on Sunday morning, a big earthquake hit a prefecture, north of Tokyo, facing the Sea of Japan as even foreign media reported.

Though human casualties were minimal, it might have some significant implication.

The present Japan's Prime Minister has actually belonged to a faction from which three prime ministers have consecutively appeared, Mr. Yoshiro Mori, Mr. Junichirou Koizumi, and Mr. Shinzo Abe, which is very rare in Japanese politics.

The big boss is former Prime Minister Mr. Mori who looks still most influential to the present regime. And, he is from the prefecture just hit by the earthquake on Sunday.

And, on Monday morning, an accident happened on a commuter railroad passing through the center of Tokyo, which forced thousands of commuters to get out of train cars and walk on a railroad to nearby stations, while much more commuters around the line were affected.

These might look discrete and non-significant incidents or just haphazard; but it might give a certain warning to Japan.

Or it might mean that we have been lucky as these things happened in place of potentially more disastrous accidents, such as a Tokyo earthquake or an eruption of Mt. Fuji, which would heavily disrupt traffics and communications in Tokyo in a large scale.

Prime Minister Mr. Abe must feel something alarming (on his schedule to see the Chinese Prime Minister and the US President, or on his nationalistic comments).

Or should I feel something alarming?

Are holy spirits giving me a warning against any of my behaviors?

I am the one living with awe in God, for I have seen so many miracles near and far.

Anyway, we had better be careful in enjoying a sports program while so many people are suffering all over the world, even at this moment, to the degree comparable with the tragedies during WWII.

(One earthquake that happened in October 2004 in another prefecture facing the Sea of Japan was the first issue I took up in this EEE-Report in May 2005.

If you live in a quake-free capital or megalopolis, such as New York, you are really lucky; accordingly, you may feel God's alarming in other way.)

Significance of Japan to Asians and World Religions

[Updated on December 13]

My point of view is that there are specific reasons for each emergence of the three great religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Understanding the holy reasons is the key to devising a solution to contemporary issues, such as the War on Terror and the highly biased supremacy of the dollar as the key currency in the world economy.

* * *

First of all, you have to understand why Japanese can fairly discuss this issue, while 99% of Japan's population has nothing to do with the three great religions; and Japan alone, based on its 2000-year national history, could cope with invasive power of the American/European Civilization, the central player of the modern history.

To understand the above assertion, you have to fairly understand Japan. You may regard Japan as a Britain in Asia. "Britain owes almost everything to the Roman/Greek Civilization; therefore Japan must owe almost everything to the Chinese Civilization," you may think, for example. But, there is a big difference. Japan is more unique against China than Britain is against the Roman Empire and the Greek Civilization.

English and Latin belong to one language group; however, Japanese and Chinese belong to different language groups. Troops of the Roman Empire once advanced into the Great Britain, then Celtic, up to the border to Scotland, but no Chinese troops have ever landed on the Japanese Islands. Romans built many cities in contemporary England and France or in regions of south of the Rhine river; but Chinese have never built any cities in the Japanese Islands.

From 2000 years ago to 1500 years ago, Japanese ancient chiefs tried to be acknowledged as a king by the Emperor of Chinese dynasties, though it was just a nominal title to show off to people in a chief's territory. Anyway, the war in 663 between Japan and China over a territory in the Korean Peninsula put an end to the rather equivocal relationship between the two countries.

(It is just like the establishment of Islam in the same era, putting an end to the rather equivocal relationship between Arabs and Israelites and Europeans; also in the same era the AngloSaxons invaded the Great Britain, separating themselves from other Germanic tribes still suffering from damage given by Roman troops centuries ago.)

Those Japanese chiefs had never sent their people as mercenary soldiers to China unlike chiefs in the north of the Alps did for the Roman Empire.

However, as with Britain who virtually imported culture form the Roman Empire and ancient Greece through their successors, Japan imported various cultural products from China.

More precisely, the ancient Chinese Civilization was relayed to, and preserved well in, Japan, while China undergoing various upheaval, including occupation by Mongols and Manchurians as well as the communist revolution, lost various ancient works and spirits as well as people who fled to Japan.

Actually, a lot of groups of refugees from war-torn China and Korea had fled to the Japanese Islands with culture and skills since the era when the Chinese First Emperor (BC259-BC210) occupied and unified the then whole mainland China for the first time through severe wars and battles and stern application of laws.

Even today, it is estimated, through gene analysis, that 30% or one third of the Japanese is of Chinese origin; also another 30% or one third is of Korean origin (immigration to Japan seems to have occurred over centuries dozens times, each in a reasonable size, around 2000 years ago to assimilate into indigenous Japanese). From a racial point of view, people unique to the Japanese Main Island, in more than a 10,000-year time span, account for only around 10% of the present population, who might have been moving around the Far East when ancestors of American indigenous people were moving to the new continent, America.

Japanese have loved literature, philosophies, and arts of ancient China as well as Chinese letters in addition to Buddhism introduced through China.

Though, all through its history, Japan imported valuable cultural works from each Chinese dynasty, it is the "eighth century" that the Japanese Imperial Court authorized a collection of original poems, called "Man-yo-shu," containing 4500 poems all expressed in Japanese language but written with Chinese characters whose sounds were applied to Japanese words.

(But, soon after the completion of Manyoshu, Japanese invented new letter systems as phonograms by adapting Chinese letters, which called "Kana.")

In other words, since the eighth century, Japan has developed its unique literature, which is one of big differences with the history of Anglo-Saxon culture in the Great Britain.

In addition, Japan had gold, silver, and other natural resources enough to buy and import various foreign products from China and Europe. Japan had mostly obtained those works and products through fair trade, not through invasion and wars, from the seventh century up to the 20th century.

But, when the Imperial Navy, with a fleet consisting of six aircraft carriers and other 14 world-class fighting ships as well as the then world-best zero fighter planes, attacked the US Navy in Pearl Harbor in 1941 (while the US Government, even knowing not performance of the zero fighter, was waiting for Japan's attacks on US bases in the Philippines), its history got into a fatal course and a strong grip of the God's hand, the result of which you can even see today in the EEE-Report.

I am not so sure if you now consent to my conviction of significance of Japan's 2000 year history which has developed without arousing the world's interest, since it is situated at the End of the East from Jerusalem so far away (beyond the Arab land, Persia, India, and China).

If not, I hope you will change your view, someday, which you conceived and formed without systematically learning about Japan in an unbiased manner and with a right sense of purpose.

Now, I think I will be allowed by the God or Allah to discuss specific reasons for each emergence of the three great religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

(A certain US professor grouped the world into eight civilizations, one of which includes Japan and Japan alone. He is right in this regard, but we cannot expect him to advance his theory more profoundly, for even a professor in the Harvard University cannot comprehend Japanese culture and history, through adequate comparison with other Civilizations, as well as its significance to other Asians.

You had better listen to me, in this context, rather than learned men in the Harvard University or the Vatican who cannot become humble enough to gain a meaningful and valuable insight into Japan.

[In the worst case, they try hard to hinder other Asians in learning about and respecting Japan.]

Anyhow please do not misread my good wish to you, even at any unusual moment.)

According to Mr. Yukio Okamoto, a prominent former Japanese diplomat, a US research company conducted a special survey in Iraq in late 2003 on how much foreign countries are liked by Iraqi citizens.
The result is as follows:

The least liked are the U.S. and the U.K.

Less liked are countries such as Germany and France.

Iraqis who feel friendly toward the UN account for 50% of all.

But, astonishingly, those who like Japan account for more than 70% of all the Iraqi respondents.

As this result was so shocking for parties concerned, those figures were not made public.

Before the Persian Gulf War in 1991, thousands of Japanese were in Iraq, making business and building facilities.

The largest power plant in southern Iraq was built by Japanese companies.

Even today, when they saw an East Asian, Iraqi people first expect him to be Japanese, though in other Middle East countries nowadays people regard an East Asian first as Chinese and then Korean.

In general terms, Arab people are pro-Japan. But, exact reasons are still unknown to Japanese.

The most reasonable reason would be that there are good natured Japanese more than those of other nationalities.

Another reason would be appreciation of Japanese products with higher quality.

And, a hidden reason might be that Japanese once fought bravely and often successfully Europeans and Americans until the atomic bomb attacks by the U.S. military.

Mr. Yukio Okamoto, who has visited Iraq several times on official business, wrote that he had felt a kind of awe in other Arabs toward Iraqis before the Iran-Iraq War.

Other Arabs had regarded Iraqi people 20 years ago. Though subsequent three wars heavily afflicted Iraqis, they seem to still posses a higher inherent potential. The US Government must have realized it, but failed in leveraging it.

There are many reasons that you should not belittle Iraq and Iraqis.

Those who can fairly appreciate Japan and Japanese are really something, though there are other various ways for you to become something.

Iraqis are such people. Their 5000-year history has really proved worthwhile.

(Incidentally, I like Iraq, for it is the Abraham's home country.
I also like the U.S. for a very personal reason. Every morning, I confirm this feeling.

But, if you can tell the truth in a questionnaire, would you really answer that you like Japan?)

I really want to discuss this issue based on friendship with American people and Muslims, especially for future generations.

"What Americans have done in these 30 years is simply printing more and more bank notes in order to sustain its economy.

They have had foreign countries substantially make up their deficit, while printing more and more bank notes for payments to those foreign countries.

Though the U.S. has 2.5 trillion dollar foreign credits, the difference between its income and expenditures in its financial account balance has been reduced. In 2005, its black figure was just one billion dollars, which is remarkably small.

If foreign countries judge that the U.S. cannot pay interest of its foreign debts, which are huge, credibility of the dollar will be lost. Printing more and more bank notes may not work any more."

Mr. Akio Akagi, a prominent professor of the University of the Air in Japan, wrote so in his book with the theme of "oil and dollars."

The key is overseas integrity of the dollar.

(If nobody in the world trusts in the dollar, the U.S. cannot simply print dollar bills and pay its debts with the bills. The U.S. must first get euros or yen. Then the economic power of the US will be significantly decreased. But, the dollar supremacy makes the world economy very vulnerable due to too much reliance on the US.)

The core of this integrity is deeply linked with oil. As oil producing countries accept the US currency (dollars) in payment for oil, integrity of the dollar is being secured.

In this respect, the key figure is Saudi Arabia.

If Saudi Arabia has more confidence in "yen" or "euro," and thus refuses to accept "dollars" from oil-purchasing countries, including the U.S. and Japan, other oil producing countries will come into line with Saudi Arabia where Islamic holy places are located.

If Saudi Arabia undergoes political upheaval, it may change its policy adopted so far to sustain the critical link between oil and dollars.

That is why the U.S. Government cannot withdraw its troops from Iraq as long as the Saudi Arabia Government wants them to stay there for protection of the kingdom from terrorists.

This is one theory. But, American citizens should think about it as the 2008 Presidential Election is getting closer.

The fact that the 9/11 Terror was planned, ordered, and carried out mainly by Saudi-Arabia-born terrorists cannot be accidental.

The future of Saudi Arabia economy itself is not necessarily rosy.
(In 40 years, the world oil reserves are expected to be depleted...)

There must be surely some way to correct the potentially-risky supremacy of the dollar in the world economy, which might someday trigger crash of the value of the dollar and hard-landing of the world monetary system.

How much Americans can accept decline in their standard of living may be another big issue. If they cannot, they have to continue to rely on military power to maintain the present system based on the oil-dollars linkage.

When you are called by the God, you may be allowed to keep your conventional living standard you have enjoyed so far, if you honestly obey the God. But, probably, not more than that.

(When you die, how much money do you want to leave in this world? Jesus Christ left no dollars. Probably, I will do the same. My family should understand it.)

There is an interesting description about one of miracles Jesus Christ performed in the Holy Report or the Gospel.

People said that a girl was dead; but Jesus Christ, with intention to educate people to understand life and death, said that she was just "sleeping."

Accordingly, Jesus Christ told the girl to wake up; and then the dead girl came back to life and woke up.

When a man has died, his mind, as the work of his brain cells and synapses, stops to work. But, the story does not end there.

Something, called a soul, linked to different space and time still exists in our universe, keeping connection with his physical entity or body (or even without it in special cases). This state can be regarded as "sleeping."

When the soul is completely disconnected from a human body and this material world, it gets into a new state of "awakening" in the different space and time which might be called "another world" or "Heaven" in the best case.

In this state, you cannot come back to this world; and thus your body, if still remained, will return to the ground.

In the above incident recorded in the Gospel, the girl was still in the state of "sleeping," though her soul was about to leave for another world.

Therefore, Jesus Christ exercised His power to call her soul fully back to her physical entity, which triggered life process again in her body as a miracle.

If her soul had completely left her physical entity, Jesus Christ would not have said that she was "sleeping" and would not have called her soul back to this universe.

There are many books that deal with life and death using complicated words and logics. But, this simple Jesus Christ's miracle surpasses any other arguments on life and death.

You cannot easily imitate Jesus Christ's miracle.

You need great love to a person whose soul you are going to communicate with directly.

What's more, you must have special power that can work on a human body to revive a person with energy that existed before this universe was born.

Jesus Christ gave this kind of power (transcendent philosophically) to His disciples, so that He told them to go out and heal people.

But now, if a religious establishment cannot perform this healing work, it is no longer an organization of disciples of Jesus Christ.

(This conclusion might sound too harsh, but we are talking about a representative of Jesus Christ or God, but not a representative of a king or a queen of a remote country.)

Seeing a girl reviving in this world again must be really splendor.

(Mankind has not seen such an incident for too long due to somebody's default.)

However, mankind was created to meet God in time. We have to leave unnecessary things, such as a physical body, money, and painful memory, in this world in order to see God in other space and time, the process of which we call death.

(Now, what else miracle do you need? A disease cured, blind eyes opened, a mystery resolved, and a way for love discovered? Yes, a prophecy of a miracle is coming true.)

As it has come to be a decade since the death of Princess Diana, I would like to present a poem which I hope will be associated with the late Princess, whenever sound citizens cast their minds back to the unhappy and symbolic lady in England.

I do not know if Mr. Larry King of CNN has ever interviewed Princess Diana and Mother Teresa, though these two 20th-century heroines are foreigners for Americans.

Yet, somebody should have listened to these ladies before they left this world so as to (give some protection and) record their valuable experiences and lessons for American people who are now destined to pass through the era of the War on Terror.

(The fact that Mr. Osama Bin Laden invited a US interviewer into his hide-out in Afghanistan in 1998, after the tragedy of Princess Diana, is also suggestive.

And, Mohamed Atta, an Egyptian like the close and romantic associate of Princess Diana, might have been influenced by the 1997 fatal accident on Princess Diana, resulting in his participation in the 9/11 attacks.)

Based on my preference, Princess Diana should have kept company with such a man as Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin.

A devil sometimes appears, pretending a clown. On the other hand, there are many world leaders who are at pains just trying hard not to look like a clown.

So then, somebody that honestly plays his role as an occasional clown might look so honest and wonderful to some girls in the upper classes.

Of course, Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin is very different from a clown.

It may be the time, however, for world prominent figures to seriously consider employing the spirit of "Chaplin" as precaution not to become a real clown and no to resort to a wicked design.

In 1997, a symbolic year for me, too, two prominent ladies died: Mother Teresa in September and Princess Diana in August.

Why God wanted the two distinctive souls almost at one time is yet to be analyzed.

If Princess Diana had not died, she would have, reportedly, remarried a son of the parents, an Egyptian billionaire and a sister of Mr. Adnan Khashoggi, a Saudi billionaire arms merchant.

From Princess Diana's tragedy, however, we can get some inference:
- Difference in religion cannot be an obstacle to super-rich people for their association.
(Princess Diana was even remotely linked with prominent Rothschild families through her mother's sister.)

- If Princess Diana had intended to remarry a richer person than a nephew of Mr. Adnan Khashoggi, a Saudi billionaire arms merchant, she could have been provided with more excellent guards and thus could have avoided the fatal car accident.

If Princess Diana had intended to remarry, for example, a king of an oil rich Islamic country, she should have been living today, since such a king could have provided more sufficient protection and security. Then, British Royal Family, the Rothschilds, and an Islamic Kingdom would have been all linked by living and lovely Princess Diana, which might have had a peaceful influence on some Arab terrorists at least psychologically.

Princess Diana, however, died on August 31, 1997. And, from the next year, attacks on the U.S. by Arab terrorists got really intensified, leading to the decisive 9/11 attacks in 2001.

One clear characteristic of Islam is its strong will to separate itself from Christianity.

For 1400 years since the foundation of Islam, Allah or God has not changed this principle. This is the key to understanding the relation among, or the significance of existence of, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Princess Diana's tragedy, at least, reminded me of this relation between Christianity and Islam.

In "The House of Morgan" by Ron Chernow, the intimate relationship between the Empire of Japan and the Morgan financial combine before WWII was described over several pages.

The outline of the description is not so bad, but there are a few misunderstandings on critical issues, including characteristics and a political position of Korekiyo Takahashi, the then Finance Minister and a friend of powerful financiers' of the West, who was assassinated in 1936 by young officers of the Imperial Army.

After the Great Depression, the economy of the Empire of Japan continued to suffer a big recession mostly due to a slump in export to the U.S. It had to find a way to sustain its economy and decided to advance into a territory of Manchuria and the Chinese market with support of military power due to a quasi-state of war or an actual civil war going on in the area.

It was regarded as unlawful military invasion by the Empire of Japan on Manchuria and China by Western powers and the Morgan group which finally stopped to give support to the Empire.

It is true that various Japanese politicians and top businessmen, including close friends of the Morgan group's, were assassinated in 1930's by right-wing extremists and violent nationalists in the Empire of Japan.

However, if you viewed the age in a wider scope, things would look different.

The Empire of Japan had been pressed and intimidated by Russia and the USSR even after the Japan-Russo War in 1904, while the Imperial Japan's Army itself sometimes recklessly ventured into exchange of fires with reinforced Russian troops. Manchuria was expected to be the main battle field for the next Japan-Russo War which should have posed a serious threat to the Korean peninsula and down south to the Japanese Islands. But, Manchuria had been in fact under control of Chinese and Manchurian war lords, without any unified and stable administration or government, who often dealt with the USSR against Imperial Japan's interest.

China had been in civil wars, and nobody protected the order of economy and market; it is the Empire of Japan that established and introduced modern industrial infrastructure into China even in those days, as with the case in Korea, Taiwan, and Manchuria.

Moreover, Manchuria had been once occupied by the Russian Empire, the Philippines was a colony of America; Vietnam was a colony of France; Malaysia was a colony of Britain; Indonesia was colony of Holland; and European countries and the U.S. had long been trying to exploit the Chinese market.

It is not like that while Russia was peaceful, China was stable and unified, and other Asia countries were enjoying independence, suddenly the Empire of Japan got mad and waged greedy wars here and there in Asia in 1930's.

(However, the U.S. people and the Morgan Group were very nice to, and extended great aid for, the Empire of Japan when it suffered the Tokyo Earthquake of 1923.)

The Empire of Japan had to manage Manchuria for its security against the USSR and its economic interest, while the Chinese Communist Party tried to draw the Japanese Imperial military into the mainland China and their civil war so that Chinese National Party would have to fight Japanese soldiers rather than Chinese communists.

The Empire of Japan had been at its core a samurai-spirited country trying hard not to be colonized by the West and Russia. If challenged, it had to fight; otherwise, it could not maintain authority domestically. And, the Chinese Communist Party really so challenged to pull Imperial Japan's troops into the Chinese civil war between the Communist Party and the Nationalist Party, make situations complicated, and get compassion and support from the U.S. and the USSR. Accordingly, the Morgan group severed its tie with the Imperial Japan.

(The Empire of Japan had no grand design on how to occupy and administrate the whole China; its military was in a sense just taking up the gauntlet and could not stop it as a samurai, no matter how endless it would become in 1930's and 1940's.)

But, every tragedy before WWII in East Asia was essentially triggered by the Great Depression in the U.S. and subsequent mishandling of the situation by US politicians and businessmen including the Morgan financial combine, from a viewpoint of the Empire of Japan.

This is a humble and personal defense for the past Empire of Japan that had refused to sit and starve after the Great Depression, but decided to go out, leveraging its world-class military power, to control and manage the entire East Asia in a great turmoil in vain.

In addition, after WWII, the relationship between Japan and the Morgan group was restored and maintained well. Now, no one argued failures the both sides had experienced before WWII. But, misunderstanding remained should be resolved.


(What is the most heart breaking thing is that some Americans, maybe including you, have never understood the rigorous situations the Empire of Japan had faced eastward (the U.S.), westward (China), northward (the USSR), and southward (European colonial rulers) in 1930's. If I were an American and a follower of Jesus Christ, I suppose, I would not blame the past Empire of Japan, since Japan is truly situated at the End of the East.)

This is bad, very bad, though it looks like a common procedure in religion business.

A saint needs no money. If you are not a saint, you have to follow him as long as you want to live on religion which cannot be business.

Therefore, if you think that all you need is money, you still have to follow a saint till you come to need no money.

This morning a US news program is focusing on alcohol addiction in a variety of ways.

Your enemy is not alcohol; it is rather bad money and stupid social systems.

Concentrate on your real enemies, but not on alcohol.

Try to improve the world and national economy and society as well as international relationships, and then you will be a winner over alcohol.

By the way, when Peter said to Jesus Christ on a hill at one night (when the "Transfiguration" occurred) that he would build three houses, one for Jesus Christ, one for Moses, and the rest for Elijah, he was actually making prophecy that there would be three religions in parallel: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.

It is because the "two secret followers" they met on the hill were a rabbi (looking like Moses) and a soldier (looking like Elijah), but the latter must be an Arab who had been recruited by the Roman military in Palestine.

Jesus Christ did not have to use spies; but there must be a kind of informants or secret followers.

If a soldier of the Roman military happened to be a believer like the centurion whose family had been saved by Jesus Christ, he could not come to listen to Him openly under the daylight.

If one of rabbis subject to a high priest happened to be a believer, he could not come to listen to Him openly under the daylight.

In that case, they had to send messengers to Jesus Christ and asked Him to meet them in the night, for example, on a certain hill.

In this way, Jesus Christ accompanied by Peter and other two disciples climbed a hill to meet the two secret followers one night.

It is described in the Bible as an occasion and a scene of the "Transfiguration."

The "two secret followers," however, that night must have brought a specific and horrible piece of information about Judas and a plot he was involved in.

(The Roman Governor, having realized a wide influence Jesus Christ had caused, must have decided to take a decisive action to handle the case for himself.)

Jesus Christ could have avoided confrontation with the plot and left Jerusalem or even Judea for as far as Egypt or Persia. But, as He was informed of details about Judas situations, He decided to save Judas and other followers by staying in the situation.

It must have been a very tense conversation. The two secret followers knew graveness of their information, and thus even the air around them got tense, since the two secret followers risked their lives to tell it to Jesus Christ.

The tension had an influence on Peter and other two who took the two secret followers as Moses and Elijah, due to extraordinary tense, pressure and the strong will to carry out a holy mission.

Jesus Christ could have avoided the encounter with the plot by performing miracles or using supernatural power. But, if he had done so, Judas or other followers should have been killed by Roman soldiers. Therefore, He decided to accept the accomplishment of the plot.

The moment He made this great decision, Heaven responded and praised Him, sending a "special power" to Him, making the clothes of Jesus Christ "dazzling white," so that He would revive after "Crucifixion" expected to inevitably happen sometime soon. He was now prepared for "Resurrection."

The rest of story is described in the Bible.

Avoiding the tragedy, which must have been very easy, is an act of an ordinary man or a person of religion by trade.

By saving the life of Judas or a lost sheep, who however committed a suicide later, Jesus Christ showed an extreme example of supreme altruism.

(If you do not save a sheep because it is just one of many, you will probably not save any sheep. If you do not save one man, you will probably not save mankind at all and you cannot be called the Messiah.)

However, it has not been taught as such for too many years, making Judas forever an enemy of Jesus' followers and making Jesus Christ a failed saint (significance of which should be discussed later).

Now, it is a time for religious establishments to put an end to their blasphemy. And, they should not continue to make their innocent followers pagans.


(It is truly said that unless you become like a little child in learning the Bible, you cannot enter Heaven.

Especially good girls in Europe and America should learn more respect to Jesus Christ and His chosen disciples who were all Israelites, though Japanese I am, shouldn't they?)

It was reportedly due to a concern over too much financing to clients with poor credibility in home financing.

Whatever reason they might have, there must be, behind the incident, some people who think it will be advantageous for them to sell stocks

Or there might be some people who would try to save their own assets by stopping to sustain the stock price level.

If an interest rate 5% is applied, Japan gains annually about 215 billion dollars without making any business activities.

But, as the borrowers in the world do not want to return money to Japan, there is possibility that they hope that Japan is involved in wars and gets destroyed or that Japan will disappear from the world map.

He often worked in the U.S. where he has the best senior associate for his profession, but as he could not adapt himself to worship of money seemingly spreading in the US society (and in addition, he doesn't like to drive a car but loves cycling), he decided not to live in the U.S.

In Japan, people were, in most cases, kind and polite to him and actually accepted him, though they looked at him sometimes as if he had been a kind of menageries, since in those days an encounter with Westerners were not so common for ordinary Japanese citizens in their daily lives.

He however decided that he would stay in Japan, for people welcomed him; "If I am regarded as a kind of menageries, it is far better to live in Japan," he mused.

Now, the very successful mathematician and street performer, to our surprise, Mr. Peter Frankl is busy writing books in Japanese, appearing in various TV shows, and traveling all over the world, while teaching and studying mathematics in Paris and Tokyo.

Until I recently read a book, published in 2003, he wrote in Japanese, I did not realize he is a Judaist origin.

But, thanks to Mr. Peter Frankl, I got very valuable information on conversations actually happening somewhere in the world.

Mr. Peter Frankl was raised as an atheist. Therefore, he might not like to be called a Judaist (Jew). If so, I am very sorry for him.

But, now, you know that there is such a man who is a son of Holocaust survivors and has been living happily in Japan, though he thinks he is an atheist.

When Jesus Christ was arrested by Roman soldiers, all of His followers ran and hid with a shudder of horror.

How then can you blame Judas who might have been caught by terror, when he might have been coerced into cooperation with the Roman Governor and subsequently leaders of Israelites in power 2000 years ago?

As long as there is even the slightest possibility for Judas to have been intimidated with a death threat, you should not blame and judge him.

If Jesus Christ had saved the life of Judas, under a death threat by Romans, by sacrificing Himself through acceptance of accomplishment of the plot in which Judas played the significant role, Judas could be regarded as the most beloved follower by Jesus Christ, though ironically.

I mean there is such a probability of our inexcusable mistake in dealing with Judas.

Judas was given some silver coins, but as he realized that he had been manipulated and duped by the Roman Governor, he committed a suicide, in my interpretation.

Jesus Christ cannot be such a religious leader as would commit mistakes in choosing right staff.

There is an unpardonable possibility that mankind has been trapped by the Devil for 2000 years.

But, then, who should take responsibility, in company with me?

Am I alone facing the Roman Empire?

(If the Roman Governor had been an admirer of Jesus Christ, he would not have arrested and judged Him. The Roman Governor would not have done so, especially since Judas, a nameless, poor, and powerless man, and leaders of Israelites 2000 years ago, with less bargaining power to Romans than King Herod had, acted on their own initiatives from their own emotional and business interest and thus appealed to the Roman Governor. Besides, why did the Roman Governor himself interrogate Jesus Christ in person? Weren't there other officers? What was the grave threat to the person of the Roman Governor?

Wasn't there any lesson Romans had learnt form the wars Cleopatra had brought down on them 60 years ago, just like WWII to the present day?)

Judas might have been a spy more critically working for the Roman Governor than for leaders of Israelites in power 2000 years ago.

(If Judas had not worked for Romans, he might have been executed by Roman soldiers, which Jesus Christ must have well realized, in my personal interpretation.)

(Even today, Vatican is famous for its excellent intelligence work.)

What's more, even Cleopatra could not achieve remarkable political maneuvering in Rome where she stayed when Caesar was assassinated.

When the Roman Governor interrogated Jesus Christ asking whether He was the King of Israelites, Jesus Christ answered, "So you said."

It means that Jesus Christ knew that the Roman Governor had known, through his spies, that He had been called so by some of His followers.

Jesus Christ must have known who was whose spy assigned to Him.
(The meaning of His words "he should not have been born" is also deeper, and probably, more compassionate.)

One of such spies might have been Judas who might have also offered cooperation with leaders of Israelites in power, following an order by Romans.

When everybody in Judea came to know, or heard of a rumor of, Jesus Christ, a brilliant elite of the Roman Empire, that is, the Roman Governor, should have tried to see who and what Jesus Christ was.

(A centurion of the Roman military whose family had been saved by Jesus Christ must have reported it to his superior officer and probably the Roman Governor later.)

It is natural. And, who could blame Judas if he had been forced to work as a spy for the Roman Governor?

Today, you cannot blame any Arab who is forced to work for the United States of America, the sole superpower in the world, for the purpose of maintaining peace and stability under its control.

A spy and an assassin are two different matters.

Interestingly the Roman Governor did not send an assassin to Jesus Christ. There might have been a plan for compromise.

Anyway, Jesus Christ had never pronounced a curse on the Roman Empire, which made possible His followers to take possession of the Empire peacefully a few centuries later.

In addition, if the Roman Governor was acting on the issue, though behind a scene, there must not have been any room for leaders of Israelites in power to act decisively on their own initiatives.

The major players were Jesus Christ, the Roman Governor, and Judas.

Only I can say to them is to follow the Messiah.

A dialogue between a former officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and a former chief correspondent in Washington D.C. of NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) was published recently.

The former officer, a specialist in intelligence on Russia, told that every reasonable country stations elite intelligence officers in Tokyo.

Tokyo has been famous as a key city for international information gathering among people in this profession, one instance of which was a situation in Tokyo on and after September 11, 2001, according to them.

An elite spy should take on a residence in a prime location in Tokyo. It must have a space enough to have a party and invite VIPs. Such a residence will monthly cost US$10,000. The total costs for operating one elite spy in Tokyo would be 400,000 dollars per year, according to their dialogue.

(The President of NHK gets a salary of 300,000 dollars per year, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan gets a salary of 250,000 dollars per year.)

For a very long time, there have been no lows in Japan to ban espionage conducted by foreign agents and arrest or expatriate them. Tokyo has been a paradise for spy rings.

But, it has been a very costly paradise.

Jesus Christ did not call any woman to follow Him as long as the Bible says.

On the other hand, if they had not been called directly and individually to follow Him, those men to be revered later as Apostles might not have spontaneously followed Him.

According to one theory, there were 40,000 residents in Jerusalem when Jesus Christ lived.

(Another theory claims that there were two million Israelites in Palestine around the first century A.D.)

There might have been 400,000 Israelites in the region near Jerusalem and Galilee.

(For instance, today 10 percent of the Japan's population lives in Tokyo Pref.)

Jesus Christ might have spoken to two men in the morning and two other men in the afternoon in average; then he could directly preach about 4 men per day the gospel. Then 1,460 men per year. About 4,000 men during His mission. Or 2,000 men and 2,000 women.

It accounts for 1% of the population. However, as it includes minors and infants, all the grown-ups must have heard a rumor of Jesus Christ in the region near Jerusalem and Galilee 2000 years ago.

But, records about his face-to-face preaching are not many in the Bible. Only scores of direct conversations are recorded.

There must be about 4,000 independent conversations, between Jesus Christ and a man or a woman, which are unfortunately not covered in the Bible.

Besides, while there are "four independent reports" about Jesus Christ, their contents are very similar, leaving 4,000 encounters untold.

If you think I got one figure too many, there are 400 encounters untold, which still makes the identical contents of the "four independent reports" impossible.

This is a big mystery. However, it might tell how the "four Gospels" were edited and compiled.

Would you follow Jesus Christ if you are called by Him?

If you are a rich and happy woman, probably you might not.

But, even if you are a rich and happy man, still you might think you have to.

(Buddha was a rich and happy prince, but he abandoned all.)

I think I will admire a believer who would swear to God that she or he would surely follow Jesus Christ if so called by Him

In that case, please try to record your conversation with Him and report it for future generations.

If I am, I will do so.

(Telling somebody to follow me or being told to follow somebody is a critical situation. You must be prepared well beforehand for the situation whether consciously or unconsciously. But, any woman or man should not try to master a skill or a magic just to make others follow her or him for her/his own profits.)

As reported and discussed in the CNN program viewed this morning in Japan, the US Vice-President Mr. Dick Cheney was hospitalized for a blood clot in his left leg.

It was also reported by Japanese media.

I am awfully sorry for his situations while he has heavy responsibility to people relying on him.

I hope, as the same mankind, that all of you in a hard professional life will not become ill and suffer physically and psychologically.

This morning, a question and answer session in the budget committee of Japan's Parliament (Diet) was broadcast, though I just checked it partly; the live coverage from the Diet Building is also planned in the afternoon.

A Japan's fiscal year begins in April when the fresh from college start to work in a new business suit.

Everybody is busy nowadays in Japan to make the end meet or process backlogs.

However, we have to keep up the pace in our holy mission.

Governor of Tokyo Mr. Shintaro Ishihara was reelected in 2003, winning three million votes or more specifically 3,080,000 votes.

(New York Mayor Mr. Michael Bloomberg received 753,089 votes in 2005.)

Mr. Ishihara is going to run for his third term in the highest public position in Tokyo Prefecture this spring.

(There is no such a post as is officially called the Mayor of Tokyo. More correctly, there is no such a city as is officially called the Tokyo City. The Governor of Tokyo Prefecture presides over all the 23 wards located in the center of Tokyo Prefecture as well as other cities, towns, and villages in the prefecture. Anyway, Tokyo has been the capital of Japan for 400 years.)

Mr. Ishihara is not only the most popular politician in Japan with a strong tie with the central Government, but also a prominent author and an elder brother of the deceased, prominent actor.

He is regarded as being a more nationalist than Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe whose deceased father had been a friend of Mr. Ishihara's.

Mr. Ishihara is sometimes accused, by liberal people, of expressing a sense of too much superiority to Koreans, Chinese, and even French.

On the other hand, though he has many friends in the U.S. and seems to be highly trusted by the US Government, he has sometimes candidly manifested his displeasure at Americans' arrogance.

(He once wrote that he had clearly pointed at America's racism like a man or samurai, when he had been interviewed in the U.S. by a young beautiful American female TV reporter without surrendering himself to her charm.)

Mr. Ishihara, when he was 12-years old or so at the end of WWII, experienced an air raid by the US Navy. One of US carrier-based fighter planes, from a sky of a Pacific coast near Tokyo, swooped down and fired at him running and trying to hide in a farmland.

He survived in a whole skin, and later won a prominent literary award, when he was a university student learning French literature after WWII, which paved the way for his success in politics. He was elected as a Diet lawmaker and also became a Cabinet minister.

On September 11, 2001, the Tokyo Governor was in Washington DC and about to move to New York.

He did not especially articulate his opinions about the War on Terror, but as a political ally of former Prime Minister Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, he seems to be not against the US military operations against terror at all.

Only God knows if Mr. Ishihara wins the coming election for the Governor of Tokyo, taking up challenges of younger candidates.

But, unlike Mr. Bloomberg who has a brilliant record of success in information business, Mr. Ishihara with a backbone of an author has to be honest to his idea, instinct, and literary style.

He is a type of leaders very different from aggressive military-oriented ones in and before WWII.

To understand Japan may be to understand the Governor of Tokyo who is directly elected by voters in the largest constituency for an official post in Japan.

I am not so sure about how much helpful this introduction is for you.

But, peace begins with understanding personality of others; and you should not fail in understanding a person such as the Governor of Tokyo, two of whose sons are also Diet lawmakers.

(I have no personal relation with the Governor of Tokyo. I seldom read what he writes. But, I admit that he represents one of powerful groups in our society.

Do you have such personal connections, for example, in New York? But, then, for what? To get fast financial information such as Bloomberg U.S. Internet Index?)

Last month, the US Vice-President visited Japan.

However, he did not meet, to surprise of many concerned, the Japan's Defense Minister who has occupied the position of chief of defense twice in this decade.

It aroused various arguments and suspicions among Japanese political communities and media, though no one has asked the Defense Minister to resign.

It is true that Japan's Defense Minister expressed, in various occasions since he took up the post again last September, plain-spoken opinions against US policies regarding US Marines bases in Okinawa and the War in Iraq.

The incumbent Japan's Defense Minister, when he was first in the post in the era of the Bill Clinton's Administration, met with Ms. Madeleine Albright, then US Secretary of State, while she was actively working in the Far East.

In my view, though I am afraid of being very subjective, the relationships between the two were not good. I suspect that the Japan's Defense Minister could not well cope with the US Secretary, probably psychologically.

(However, it is interesting that our Minister looked like feeling easy, when he met current US Secretary Condoleezza Rice in Tokyo.)

It may be an underlying cause for his critical comments on the U.S. defense policies today, probably based on his personal experiences that have nothing to do with world strategies of the two allied countries, the U.S. and Japan.

This is one example. Misunderstanding can happen anywhere. We need a principle that supersedes temporary judgment on emotion and behaviors.

Especially, when the U.S. engages in battles in Iraq and Afghanistan, it will be important to dispel any misapprehension that may happen mysteriously even between the U.S. and Japan.

One thing US citizens should know is that as so many Japanese politicians and top businessmen are very nice and unbelievably friendly to the US Government, sometimes Japanese voters and media support reasonable criticism against US policies which is candidly expressed by Japanese elites.

It is well known that the former teacher of US Secretary Ms. Condoleezza Rice is the deceased father of former US Secretary Ms. Madeleine Albright, an exiled professor.

I wonder if our Defense Minister and I could pass an exam conducted by any exiled professor who might have still regarded Japanese as friends of Nazis.

(The Empire of Japan had not joined the Nazis' policies on Israelites.)

Probably, some of you can win the favor of such other influential professors today in active service.

Then, our Defense Minister and I had better try to win your favor, while taking extra consideration on US female high-level government officials and politicians.

It has been proven again that the worldwide stock-price drop can be a chance to make a big profit.

The state before the Shanghai Stock Market down slide, which could be regarded as a "sell-out" against Japan, was that major players in the world money market were busy selling low-interest "yen" and buying "high-interest financial assets" in emerging countries so as to get a big margin.

But, according to information also discussed in Japan, Mr. John Meriwether of JWM Partners started to buy "yen" and "US Treasury bonds" when he heard the news of the sudden declining in the global stock markets.

Thereafter, he succeeded in selling yen and the bonds at a profit, especially exploiting a sharp rise in the yen's value in the exchange market as the aftermath of the sliding share prices.

The basic money rate in Japan has been very low, though recently it was decided to be raised to 0.5% by the Bank of Japan. But, yen, the currency of the world second strongest economy, is very reliable money. The US Treasury bonds are also very reliable. But, yen and the US Treasury bonds are not attractive financial commodities in comparison with stocks unless something extraordinary has happened in the stock market.

The good lesson here seems to buy "yen" and the "US Treasury bonds" next time the Shanghai Stock Market tumbles and subsequently sell them at the highest price.

The issue is whether this kind of business will increase value in human society.

Will it increase value of the world?

But, it will surely widen a gap between poor countries and rich countries.

It is your own choice, though I humbly made a choice a long time ago, a result of which your are now encountering.

(Once in Europe, a profession dealing with money was regarded as very mean. Today, those days are called the Dark Ages. But, it might be opposite. I think it is due to propaganda. "Partly Go back to the Middle Ages" might have to be shouted by somebody to balance it.)

A yesterday's Newspaper in Japan presented an interesting letter to the editorial from a reader, a corporate worker at his late 30's.

According to the letter, an international exchange body in a local city tried to hire an English teacher for an English conversation course.

They specified a type of teachers they wanted: a foreigner with blond hair and green or blue eyes.

(A Japanese regulation in principle forbids discrimination in employment, but there are various cases and conditions in its application.)

The classified advertisement had been posted on a billboard of the facility where the international exchange body had its office for half a year.

But, due to some complaints pointing at racism hidden in the expression of the advertisement, the body pulled it back, according to the letter to the editorial.

You can easily reason the motivation of the international exchange body for specifying such physical conditions.

Japanese people are well aware that the mainstream of civilization of the contemporary world is the American/European Civilization. They like a typical of British or Americans, or otherwise the AngloSaxons for future relationships probably mainly in business and culture popular or classic.

(Of course, there are some influences of Hollywood.)

A traditional image of a beautiful woman in Japan is that with a porcelain-white skin and glossy and abundant black hair, though a Western type of beauties has been popular especially after WWII.

(A brown skin is also liked by youths as a symbol of a lively and sporty life under the Sun. Much golfing or drinking alcohol has the face of a Japanese businessman burnt.)

I mean if all the "white" men in America have a black skin, and all the "black" men in America have a white skin, there will be surely some diehard Japanese who want to hire a foreigner with blond hair and green or blue eyes for their preference.

Anyway, there are many Japanese who are against a classified advertisement wanting a foreigner only with blond hair and green or blue eyes.

And, it is also a fact that such voices made an international exchange body feel ashamed.

But, why are there such various colors for a human skin?

From a theological point of view, it is for the glory of the God to appear.

(We will leave the color of a skin, when we leave this world. But, meanwhile we have to make the best use of it, even for mental health.
And, I like the colors of your hair and eyes, for confirmation, which seem to be a God's choice.)
