"Comfort Us Concerning our Work and Toil"

"Comfort Us Concerning our Work and Toil"

Last night, in a supermarket, a long chunk bread was sold at 200 yen ($2) or so. A transparent package of the bread had letters that read "Parisian."

However, I bought another package with two loavs of bread inside, one of which looked like French bread.

Then the bread, found later at home as having a hard portion, hit my carious tooth.

Yet, after having watched a late-night TV news program, I could peacefully close the day, since I called up samurai spirit...

California has two big assets: Hollywood and Silicon Valley.

If Washington D.C. should lose its glory and New York should lose its glory, California would be able to still sustain the superpower America.

Now, Governor Mr. Schwarzenegger is tackling a huge deficit of California's state balance. If he succeeds, the U.S. Constitution might be revised, and Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger might be elected as US President in 2012.

"God rather than Men"

(The Great Edo Castle of Samurai Monarch, Japan)

"God rather than Men"

SECTION I: Great Maritime State Japan

Traditionally Japanese people take rice, vegetables, and fish as daily foods.

Sushi was developed in this background. But, eel and rice is also delicious if cooked in the Japanese style. A whale meat is better than beef.

What has made the Japanese people excellent in terms of culture is rice, vegetables, fish, and their combination.

To your surprise, samurai's strength also comes from this dietary habit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exclusive_Economic_Zone

Japan is the seventh largest country in terms of an area of an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) plus territorial waters, namely "a seazone over which a state has special rights over the exploration and use of marine resources."

The prosperity of Japan in the 21st century depends on how to develop EEZ, since Japanese fisheries engineering is leading the world.

Sea farmings of tuna and eels in addition to whales might become big industry in this century.

As we have many marine cables connecting Japan to the U.S. through the Pacific Ocean, we can surely surround a vast sea area with cables and nets to form a breeding area.

The key to success is of course how to feed them so that fishes and whales will not escape the Japanese seas.

Anyway, remember three major species contributing to Japan's excellence: tuna, eels, and whales, but not cows, swines, and birds.

"Thou Shalt not Commit Adultery"

(Near Imperial Palace and Yasukuni Shrine, Tokyo)

"Thou Shalt not Commit Adultery"

After the Civil War in 1860's passing through the Great Depression Era in 1930's and the Second World War and the Cold War with the Vietnam War from 1940's to 1980's, the United States of America has been growing being supported by many immigrants from all over the world.

But, the base of the people's spiritual power is rooted in emancipated African Americans after the South-North Over-Slavery War.

SECTION I: American History

Louis[1] Daniel Armstrong (August 4, 1901[2] – July 6, 1971), nicknamed Satchmo[3] or Pops, was an American jazz trumpeter and singer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Armstrong

Louis Armstrong smiled an unbelievably cheerfully big smile, but he looked like crying inside.

Muhammad Ali (born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.) is a retired American boxer and three-time World Heavyweight Champion. As an amateur, he won a gold medal in the light heavyweight division at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Ali

Mr. Ali excited many Japanese people decades ago as the most sophisticated and strongest American boxer. His refusal to do military service and his conversion to Islam also created complicated ripples on Japanese views on America. It is hard to comprehend the historical implication that Mr. Ali once shared glorious time with Louis Armstrong, John F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, Jr., looking back from the present era of President Mr. Barack Obama.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American clergyman, activist and prominent leader in the African-American civil rights movement. His main legacy was to secure progress on civil rights in the United States and he is frequently referenced as a human rights icon today.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Luther_King,_Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. did not excite the Japanese but was highly acknowledged as a symbol of African American movement toward equality and justice amid hostility under human masks of European Americans.

Colin Luther Powell (born April 5, 1937) is an American statesman and a former four-star general in the United States Army. He was the 65th United States Secretary of State (2001-2005), serving under President George W. Bush.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Powell

When the Persian Gulf Crisis erupted in 1990, Mr. Powell was the Joint Chief of Staff. It was an extreme surprise for me that an African American general could be appointed to the highest military position in the United States Defense regime. Indeed, Mr. George H.W. Bush, a veteran on the Pacific Stage of WWII, looks like having been something to authorize Mr. Powell.

Condoleezza Rice (born November 14, 1954) is a professor, diplomat, author, and national security expert. She served as the 66th United States Secretary of State, and the second in the administration of President George W. Bush to hold the office.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condoleezza_Rice

If Ms. Rice should visit Japan, she would be treated as a big star, I bet. Most of European American actresses would be however against a perspective that such a girl as Ms. Rice could be an actress in the U.S. Anyway, Ms. Rice and Princess Diana are two major female players lionized by the global media in this decade or so.

And the history is going on with you, gentlemen, on the American Continent...

SECTION II: Divorce without Adultery?

If you are raised in an ordinary family, you will assume that everybody is raised in a normal family environment.

But, if a half of your generation has a biased family background, you had better change your philosophy on life and refer to the Bible.

----
Divorce Rates

"14% of white women who married in the 1940s eventually divorced. A single generation later, almost 50 percent of those that married in the late sixties and early seventies have already divorced. ... Between 1970 and 1992, the proportion of babies born outside of marriage leaped from 11% to 30%."

----

In summary, almost one in two of newly married couples in the U.S. can be regarded as destined to divorce.
(Almost one in three of newly married couple in Japan might be to divorce.)

In the above context, the American Civilization could be more a threat to mankind than Islam is, even if Muslims should start to globally promulgate their faith again, claiming their superiority over the Christianity like 1,000 years ago or so.

"Not to Call the Righteous, but Sinners"

(A Day in Tokyo)

"Not to Call the Righteous, but Sinners"

There is a beekeeper in Paris, busy installing nest boxes on roofs of various buildings in the city. Bees are hiving, flying to and from various plants and flowers in gardens and lots inside the city Paris, since their fatality rate is 10% in Paris while 80% or so in the suburbs due to agricultural chemicals, according to a TV report.

What a city is is a long-time question since Jesus Christ implied that it was impossible that He would not go up to Jerusalem.

So, Mr. Barack Obama went up to the White House.

SECTION I: African American Communities

To control the state of the United States, now they need something extravagant, President Mr. Barack Obama, a half-African/half-European Hawaii-born American.

European Americans have lost passion to make the United States the country of justice, equality, and total prosperity, indulging in money games and unlawful entertainment.

Then Mr. Sallis, 69, noticed a change.

"I've been working downtown for 30 years, so I've got a good feeling for it," Mr. Sallis said. "Since President Obama started campaigning, if I go almost anywhere, it's: 'Hi! Hello, how are you, sir?' I'm talking about strangers. Calling me 'sir.'"

"Whenever they said something, I was always looking out for their ulterior motives," said Mr. Harris, 62, a retired phone company worker. "Now I find that I take white people’s statements more on face value."

Mr. Patrick, the auditor in Tampa, emphasized how even small good-will gestures resonated with him.

Still, he harbors no illusions.

"I'm not trying to sugarcoat things," Mr. Patrick said. "Things could still be better. But they're better than they were."

If terrorists could come from a barren field of Afghanistan to New York, more terrorists could come from New Jersey, Chicago, Miami, New Orleans, and Los Angeles to New York and Washington D.C., say, within a decade from Sept. 2001.

So, African American terrorists or an African American President? The choice is very simple.

Anyway, the White House looks like that White House in a film or a TV drama; it is a show, rich Americans must have reckoned around 2004.

Accordingly, some 40% of super rich Americans gave up an effort to secure the presidency for Mr. John McCain in the wake of the Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy despite an outcry from their kith and kin in London.

"Thy Faith Hath Made Thee Whole"

(Tokyo in May)

"Thy Faith Hath Made Thee Whole"

In China, CNN International can be only viewed in hotels serving foreign guests and foreign embassies.

And Chinese coming back home from a trip to North Korea often say, "Oh, now I'm back in the country of freedom!"

But, it is rare to hear a Japanese coming back home from a trip to America saying, "Oh, now I'm back in the country of equality!"

Anyway, GM and Toyota have been too long and too much company-profit oriented to a degree nullifying a traditional economic theory; China and North Korea have been too long and too much elite oriented to a degree nullifying a traditional political and diplomatic theory.

What is extremely poor or rich must be handled following special philosophy.

In the case of the Roman Empire, history needed the Christianity.

SECTION I: Detroit

A Japanese newspaper reporter recently visited Detroit.

He found some broken and desolate streets and facilities, like in the case of New York, while hearing talks on a heavily alarming number of murder cases and other violent crimes.

Yet, people he met in Detroit said, "We are enjoying our life. There are so many crimes and financial problems, but we are enjoying life more than that."

The Japanese reporter looked around to see people in Detroit actually look like enjoying life in their homes, on the streets, and in open facilities, concluding that most people in Detroit are living happy lives.

-----------------
America's Most Murderous Cities

David M. Ewalt, 11.08.07, 6:00 PM ET

Top on our list? Detroit. The Motor City experienced 418 cases of murder and non-negligent manslaughter in 2006. That's 47.3 murders per every 100,000 residents. Detroit also ranked high for violent crime (No. 2), robbery (No. 4) and forcible rape (No. 12).

To put it in perspective: Detroit's murder rate is more than 8% higher than the country's second most murderous city, Baltimore, and eight times that of the least murderous metro. More people were murdered in Detroit than in San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas and San Jose combined--and each one of those cities has a bigger population than Detroit.

http://www.forbes.com/2007/11/08/murder-city-danger-forbeslife-cx_de_1108murder.html
-----------------

If a rational man thinks he cannot be happy by killing others, he would not kill anybody.

Or, has any murderer got happy by killing others in Detroit, Baltimore, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, and San Jose?

Anyway, Jesus Christ said that a happy man does not need the God.

Be poor, unhappy, and saved in Detroit.

Mar 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mar 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

Mar 5:29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

Mar 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Mar 5:31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Mar 5:32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

Mar 5:33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

Mar 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

"Power upon Earth to Forgive Sins"

(Finally Ikebukuro, Tokyo)

"Power upon Earth to Forgive Sins"

The biggest news today is this morning's nuclear test conducted by North Korea in the region facing the Sea of Japan.

The former South Korea President committed a suicide while being investigated by the public prosecutors for a bribery case.

The former Taiwanese President is still under trial for corruption.

The former Thai Prime Minister is fleeing his country to avoid the arrest for corruption.

And recently even high-ranking officers of North Korea having been in charge of the Korean unification activities were executed.

However, in China, it is said 200 forcible protests are conducted everyday by poor farmers and citizens all over the nation with the population more than one billion. They are all violently crushed by the armed police.

That is why Japan, the true and largest democratic country in Asia, must be respected, especially in the U.N.

SECTION I: Voter Turnout

In Japan, as ordinary citizens or more than 90% of the population have been able to read and write in these 300 years, election voting is practiced usually by voter's writing a candidate name on a balloting sheet.

You have to write a name of a politician you are going to vote for on a small table in a partitioned space at a voting station.

Of course, if you have no choices, you can leave it blank and just put it into a ballot box.

Yesterday, a big city situated near Tokyo Prefecture held its mayoral election. With an increase of 7% of voters actually voting from the previous election, a former US-Republican-like-LDP mayor was turned down and a new US-Democratic-like-DPJ mayor was elected (the voting rate was 42.78% among the city population of 1.2 million).

As incumbent Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso is the head of the LDP, he might feel a threat this morning that the rival party DPJ is coming closer to depriving the LDP of power in the coming general election, especially if a voter turnout gets higher, say, by 7% in the coming national election.

http://elections.gmu.edu/voter_turnout.htm

In the American Presidential Election, Mr. Barack Obama was elected in 2008 just with a few percentage increase in the eligible or voting-age voters' turnout. But, it is the only case displaying the three-consecutive-elections increase in a Presidential Election turnout sine Mr. George W. Bush defeated Mr. Al Gore. This few percent increase in 2008 must correspond to a 10 percent increase in other years.

By the way, if you write "Jesus Christ" on ballot paper in Japan instead of a candidate's name, it is not illegal at all.

SECTION II: California

Luk 5:21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

Luk 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?

Luk 5:23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

Luk 5:24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

Luk 5:25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

1999 to 2012 and 2016

1999 to 2012 and 2016

Today, it is rainy and I am busy with a lot of work to do.

But, late last night, a cable TV channel, serving around Tokyo, featured the crisis of Dec. 21, 2012 and some related prophetic poems of Nostradamus.

----------------
2012 doomsday prediction

The 2012 doomsday prediction is a present-day cultural meme proposing that cataclysmic and apocalyptic events will occur in the year 2012. This idea has been disseminated by numerous books, internet sites and by TV documentaries. The forecast is based primarily on what is claimed to be the end-date of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, which is presented as lasting 5,125 years and as terminating on December 21 or 23, 2012, along with interpretations of assorted legends, scriptures and prophecies.

A New Age interpretation of this transition posits that, during this time, the planet and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation rather than an armageddon, and that 2012 may well be the end of the world as we know it, but not the end of the human species.[1]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_21,_2012
----------------

They once said that Nostradamus predicted the world would end in July 1999.

This time, they say that Nostradamus predicted that though the world would not end, something extravagant would happen on December 21, 2012.

If somebody had predicted in the first century that Israelites would be soon forcibly driven out of Jerusalem but would return to the holy city by force to be Israelis in the 20th century, we could think that such a prophecy could be possible.

(Jesus Christ Himself said to come back sometime riding on the cloud so that everybody could see Him from the East to the West.)

And, we are yet to hear any such prediction from the Islamic world while their mode of religious practices has been implying for 1400 years that the end is so close.

So, you had better doubt honesty of those who are making money by selling such predictions.

Yet, the year 2012 will not be an ordinary year, since 2008 was not.

By the way, do you really expect that the 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo?

(I once mentioned some notable prophecies and predictions about the world, such as Newton's; you can still find them somewhere in this blog site.

And, I also made some predictions, too, based on correlation between the year 2001 and A.D.1. Please refer to my posting on October 03, 2008 "EEE-HISTORY". It goes the following way:

1943 (63 B.C.): Pompey captures Jerusalem, and establishes Roman annexation of Judea as a client kingdom. King Judah Aristobulus II removed from power, while his brother John Hyrcanus II becomes king under Roman suzerainty

1962 (44 B.C.): Julius Caesar murdered

1975 (31 B.C.): Roman Civil War: Battle of Actium — Off the western coast of Greece, forces of Octavian defeat troops under Mark Antony and Cleopatra.

1979 (27 B.C.): The Roman Senate votes Octavian the title of Augustus. Augustus eventually assumes all authority formerly held by the Roman senate becoming the first emperor.

2000 (6 B.C.): Birth of Jesus of Nazareth

[Though there isn't the year "A.D. 0," a new Pope was elected and the EEE Reporter started in 2005.]

2006 (1 A.D.):

2014 (9 A.D.): Three Roman legions were ambushed and destroyed at Teutoberg Forest by Germans under the leadership of Arminius.

2019 (14 A.D.): Augustus Caesar, first emperor of Rome, dies. His nephew Tiberius is his successor.

2035 (30 A.D.):
Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Death of Jesus.

2069 (64 A.D.): Great Fire of Rome, first Roman mass Persecution of Christians, earliest significant recognition of Christians in Rome.

2071 (66 – 73 A.D.): First Jewish-Roman War. )

The big news this morning in Japan is the accidental but mysterious death of former Korean President Mr. Roh Moo-hyun:

Roh served as president from 2003 to 2008 and has been embroiled in a corruption scandal.

---------------

I hate Hitler more than the Pope does, but I cannot overlook those who claim that it is fair to associate the nature of Nazis with the characteristics of the Empire of Japan and its people during and before WWII.

They groundlessly think, as if brainwashed, that as Nazis killed six million innocent European Judaists, the Empire of Japan must have killed 300,000 innocent Chinese in Nanjing (Nanking) in 1937.

1. In August 1937, Chinese troops illegally launched massive attacks on the Imperial Army stationed in Shanghai in accordance with international agreements.

2. The Empire of Japan decided to fully respond to the challenge, though with a smaller number of soldiers while being covered by fighter planes flying from mainland Japan over the East China Sea for every sortie every day, thus defeating Chinese troops 10 times larger, driving them back to the inland, and pursuing Chinese troops who were in haste retreating to Nanjing, then the capital of China.

3. October 1937, the Imperial Army decided to advance to Nanjing, which was carried out at a pace quicker than the Chinese Government could imagine and cope with. The speed was also faster than the Tokyo Headquarters envisaged.

4. The Chinese Government elite and its military leaders were highly frightened by the strong and speedy marching of the Imperial Army toward Nanjing, being seized with great panics.

5. The leaders of the Chinese Government found it impossible to fight back to the mighty and courageous Imperial Army trying to surround and siege the great city Nanjing, as vast as New York City.

6. Chinese top politicians and generals in Nanjing decided to leave the capital and citizens and retreat to Chongqing chosen as the new capital in the upper stream of the Yangtze River. Fleeing from Nanjing, they committed some generals to defending Nanjing with still a large number of soldiers.

7. Nanjing citizens were not informed of the decision by the Chinese Government. The Chinese generals in charge of defending Nanjing neither informed citizens of the situation and nor recommended poor citizens to leave the city for safety.

8. In December 1937, when the Imperial Army started to bombard and attack the old city and the Chinese generals found it impossible to sustain their defensive fight and battles, they also decided to flee and run away. Chinese officers and soldiers, witnessing their generals and politicians deserting, realized the situation, promptly changing their clothes from military uniforms to civilian outfits and mingling into thousands of innocent citizens suddenly put into chaos and horror of war.

9. When soldiers of the Imperial Army broke massive walls surrounding the huge city Nanjing and violently entered the city, they encountered Chinese soldiers in civilian clothes, who could not get out of the city quickly, desperately firing at them. It got into a kind of guerrilla war or turned to be duels between Imperial soldiers in uniform and Chinese terrorists in civilian clothes.

10. Tens of thousands of Nanjing citizens who had been abandoned by the Chinese politicians and generals were thus thrown into the middle of the desperate exchanges of fire and bullets between civilian clothed and half deserting Chinese soldiers and too courageous Japanese soldiers who had rushed to their target over a long distance from Shanghai.

11. When the fight was over, it got apparent that Chinese leaders and generals who did not make the best to protect their citizens in Nanjing actually used their sacrifices as a means to gain time for them to run away and arrive at Chongqing, almost a thousand kilometers inside the Chinese Continent.

12. It was apparent at that time that the death of tens of thousands of Chinese soldiers and citizens, both in civilian clothes, was ascribed to the cowardliness or the evil strategy of the Chinese leaders and generals. (In addition, it was also reported that thousands of Chinese prisoners of war captured after the occupation of Nanjing by the Imperial Army tried to escape across the big river in vain to get drowned.)

It is estimated that 240,000 Chinese troops were supposed to defend Nanjing from 80,000 or less Japanese troops advancing from Shanghai, 300Km east of Nanjing.

This is the commonsense and general understanding of Japanese historians without prejudice and bias on the tragedy of Nanjing in 1937.

It has nothing to do with Nazis attacks on European Judaists.

What's more, Shanghai in 1930's under the control and management of the Empire of Japan served as a haven and an evacuation route for European Judaists fleeing from Nazis to the United States.

"In Danger of the Judgment"

"In Danger of the Judgment"

SECTION I: Contemporaneous Witnesses

There are two important witnesses in the first century on Jesus Christ and early Christians:

------
Lucius Annaeus Seneca (often known simply as Seneca, or Seneca the Younger) (c. 4 BC – AD 65) was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman, dramatist, and in one work humorist, of the Silver Age of Latin literature. He was tutor and later advisor to emperor Nero.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seneca_the_Younger

Josephus (AD 37 – c. 100),[2] also known as Yosef Ben Matityahu (Joseph, son of Matthias) and, after he became a Roman citizen, as Titus Flavius Josephus,[3] was a first-century Jewish historian and apologist of priestly and royal ancestry who survived and recorded the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70[4]. His works give an important insight into first-century Judaism.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josephus
------

Both could have witnessed Jesus Christ himself or early Christians, including Peter and Paul, but they did not leave any such evidences.

Both were interestingly closely related to Emperor Nero, the first major oppressor of Christians in the Roman Empire.

If two intellectually excellent persons did not mention anything about the 9/11-Terror scale or the 9/15-Wall Street Crisis scale incident of their era, you would naturally think such an incident must not have happened.

Indeed, Seneca did not mention anything about Jesus Christ; Josephus did not mention anything about early Christians virtually.

SECTION II: Seneca

Seneca is actually a teacher for Shakespeare. When I read works of the latter decades ago, I felt it strange that nothing Christian was found in his works. And now I know it is because Seneca is actually a teacher for Shakespeare.

------
Certainly, when the tragedies of Seneca were rediscovered in the 16th and 17th century, they were immensely influential on dramatists such as Shakespeare. That a lost drama could have inspired the gospel writers should surprise no one (and here you will find a reconstruction of the "Lost Gospel of Seneca").

In 65 AD, Seneca was accused of being a part of the Calpurnius Piso conspiracy to assassinate Nero, and was forced to commit suicide.

http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/seneca.html
------

Seneca might have been a teacher not only of Shakespeare but also of the Gospel writers, Mark, Luke, Matthew, and John.

Yet, there was a chance, though objectively remote, that Seneca visited Jerusalem around A.D. 31 when he travelled to Alexandria for study from Rome.

And, I think this remote possibility was a fact.

------
Seneca: a "Great moral teacher"

"God is near you, he is with you, he is within you. This is what I mean, Lucilius: a holy spirit indwells within us, one who marks our good and bad deeds, and is our guardian. As we treat this spirit, so are we treated by it. Indeed, no man can be good without the help of God. Can one rise superior to fortune unless God helps him to rise? "
– Seneca, Epistle 41.

At the same time Philo was laying the foundations of Christian theology in Alexandria, in Rome, another educated aristocrat, Seneca, was articulating the highly developed morality and ethics of Stoicism. The two philosophers may even have met: Seneca took a long sojourn in Alexandria in 31 AD.

http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/seneca.html
------

Seneca might have even listened to Jesus Christ preaching in Jerusalem, taking into account the higher level of morality he expressed in his work, while he was behaving like an adviser to noble and royal families of the Roman Empire, including Emperor Nero.

This imbalance between his soul and the mind could be ascribed to a certain possibility of his listening to Jesus Christ as a matter of fact.

Yet, Seneca mentioned nothing about Jesus Christ and early Christians.

------
As it happens, the life of Seneca, like that of Philo, was contemporaneous with the "Jesus" of legend. Yet though Seneca wrote extensively on many subjects and people, nothing relating to "Jesus" ever caught his attention, nor does he show any awareness of a "vast multitude" of Christians, supposedly, punished for the fire that ravaged Rome in 64 AD.

http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/seneca.html
------

Was Seneca blind? Or, Jesus Christ and early Christians were so fractional and frivolous players on the stage of the first century history? Is the Gospel full of exaggeration?

I think Seneca carefully avoided mentioning anything about Jesus Christ and early Christians.

It is because Seneca actually saw the God in Jesus Christ in Jerusalem to be extremely troubled and frightened.

With silence on Jesus Christ, Seneca lived his material life at a higher level of the high society of the Roman Empire, since he was extremely troubled and frightened by thinking about Jesus Christ.

His perfect silence on Jesus Christ and his having had a chance to travel through Jerusalem around A.D. 31 have brought me to the above conclusion.

In addition, Shakespeare never tried to depict or mention Jesus Christ, perfectly.

(That is why I would not be surprised if Saddam Hussein had ever met with Osama bin Laden, or Mr. Cheney or Mr. Rumsfeld had ever met with the bin Ladens, perfectly secretly)

Nonetheless, there is a theory that Seneca wrote a play on Jesus Christ, which influenced Mark. I might deal with the matter on this line later.

"Come and Lay thy Hands on Her"

(Around Tokyo)

"Come and Lay thy Hands on Her"

Economists and professors of economics must have presented data on gambling to the public as the most reliable sign of coming recession before Sept. 2008.

Indeed, the clear downturn trend of the gambling practices in Las Vegas, USA, prior to Sept. 2008 indicated something horrible soon coming to the U.S. economy.

Economic Troubles Affect the Vegas Strip

By CLIFFORD KRAUSS
Published: May 6, 2008

...
The city’s resort properties already have 130,000 rooms, and Wall Street — which financed much of the recent boom — is worried that Las Vegas cannot absorb the 40,000 more that are on the drawing board or under construction.
...
Even as Americans cut back, foreigners are helping to prop up the Las Vegas economy. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reports that the average foreign visitor spent $1,200 for purposes other than gambling in 2007, up from $1,159 in 2006. That compares with average spending of $701 for all visitors in 2007, down from $750 the year before.

When money, funds, and investments stopped to flow to the American market, not only Las Vegas but also Wall Street would stop to function, which must have been envisaged in early 2008.

In the Roman Empire, poor citizens of Rome were allowed to enter a stadium for free, since they were not allowed to join any public or governmental activities and any official decision-making.

Rich citizens bought gorgeous seats to overlook a whole game or race played in a huge stadium, indulging all-day long in gambling about outcomes of games, such as chariot racing, day after day.

Even Roman Emperors often visited a stadium to gain and boost popularity among citizens.

"Your Righteousness Shall Exceed the Righteousness of the Scribes"

(The Leading Shinto Shrine of Musashi Country, so inscribed as Musashi is an old and ancient name of the Tokyo Area.)

"Your Righteousness Shall Exceed the Righteousness of the Scribes"

(One, 600, or 100,000 out of 1.5 Million in the Empires)

They reported this noon around Tokyo that President Mr. Barack Obama met with Mr. Henry Kissinger and Mr. George Shultz at the White House.

Their main agenda was reportedly demolition and removal of nuclear weapons from the world.

The issue they must have paid attention to is however the difference between the Roman Senate and senior influential politicians in the U.S.

---------------------------------
During the early republic, the senate was politically weak, while the executive magistrates were quite powerful. Since the transition from monarchy to constitutional rule was probably quite gradual, it took several generations before the senate was able to assert itself over the executive magistrates. By the middle republic, the senate reached the apex of its republican power.
...
Beginning with the first emperor, Augustus, the emperor and the senate were technically two co-equal branches of government. In practice, however the actual authority of the imperial senate was negligible, as the emperor held the true power of the state. As such, membership in the senate became sought after by individuals seeking prestige and social standing, rather than actual authority.

During the reigns of the first emperors, legislative, judicial, and electoral powers were all transferred from the Roman assemblies to the senate. However, since the control that the emperor held over the senate was absolute, the senate acted as a vehicle through which the emperor exercised his autocratic powers.

The first emperor, Augustus, reduced the size of the senate from 900 members to 600 members, and after this point, the size of the senate was never again drastically altered.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Senate
---------------------------------

It is said that at the height of its prosperity the Roman Empire had about 100,000 Roman citizens who could live quite independently and abundantly in terms of their economic life among 1.5 million residents in the capital of the Empire.

With this ratio applied to the U.S., there must be 20 million citizens who are living quite independently and abundantly in terms of their economic life, since there are 300 million citizens in the American Empire.

What I want to point out is that President Mr. Obama must serve 300 million American citizens.

Yet, Mr. Henry Kissinger and Mr. George Shultz, old political heroes since the era of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, would definitely like to be respected solely by richer 20 million citizens of the American Empire.

However, even poor citizens in Rome had a right to vote for the council, Roman senators, Roman noble men, and richer people could not neglect the presence of a million ordinary or poor citizens (so that they distributed bread and the circuses to the lower class of Roman citizens).

Similarly, President Mr. Obama must distribute something to the lower class of the American citizens.

For example, President Mr. Obama can distribute for free one evacuated house (due to foreclosure) and one Big-3 car to each homeless family in the United States.

*** *** *** ***

Just take note of the fact that the Roman Empire had a long history to establish and consolidate its internal administrative and political structure.

For example, the Japan's largest opposition party the DPJ might still need time to enhance its internal management system to take over power from the incumbent ruling party the LDP and lead this second largest economy in the world Japan.

Or, the African American community in the U.S. might still need time to enhance its internal educational and disciplinary regime to take over the leading position from those such as Mr. Kissinger, Mr. Shultz, and the likes.

"Greater Works than These"

(Yesterday, not scenes from a Japanese movie...)

"Greater Works than These"

(Hollywood of the American Empire)

Bread and circuses ultimately occupied the central part of daily life of ancient Romans.

Or ancient Roman citizens had no difficulty in accessing bread and a circus, since for this purpose they joined the Empire's conquest of surrounding agriculturally and culturally rich regions.

In this context, we have to focus on the Hollywood thing in the American Empire of today.

If you live in California and feel unbearable arrogance of those New York guys and the Washington-D.C. elite, you might still think that future glory of the U.S. is in the hand of those involved in Hollywood business, since Wall Street lost its glory in September 2008.

California dream-makers in the driver's seat

Sometimes it's not that easy living in Los Angeles. Despite splendid weather, sprawling beaches and gorgeous mountain ranges - not to mention the well-tanned Hollywood stars - you face the unrelenting, withering scorn of smug colleagues long established in New York and Washington.
...
Hollywood thus produces the kind of contemporary currency that at least equals anything produced by Wall Street back East: "The biggest project of image in human history, of course, has been Hollywood," they argue. The assertion is beyond argument.
...
Gardels/Medavoy, elevating Los Angeles to something of a Roman/Vatican analogue in the secular-values department, you can easily see why West Coast is absolutely the avant-garde leading edge of our 21st Century America.

No disrespect to our East Coast colleagues is intended, of course.

If Wall Street loses face so badly, the American Empire has still the dollar and Hollywood.

"The Power of the Lord was Present to Heal Them"

SECTION I: Swine Influ and Gangsters

In Japan, or specifically in western Japan, or critically in Kobe City and Osaka Pref., two major commercial centers, the swine flu victims have been found and reported suddenly over these two days to reach more than 100.

Frankly speaking, Kobe and Osaka are regarded as more contaminated by crimes involving gangsters than in any other large cities in Japan.

Mexico, the possible birthplace of the swine flu, is also well known for drug-related crimes and murder cases.

Officials reached that conclusion after reviewing tapes from security cameras. The footage shows the ease with which a convoy of 17 vehicles, backed by a helicopter, approached Cieneguillas prison. About 30 men, some in police uniforms, passed through the gates, rounded up the prisoners, loaded them into the cars and sped away.

No one knows how those gangsters would behave when they realize that they have been also passed the infection on to.

Could we regard the situation as divine punishment?

SECTION II: Plague in the 6th Century Europe

When the Western Roman Empire fell, Europe got into a tragic period of the plague.

It terminated the last hope of revival of the Roman Empire.

-----------------
First Pandemic: Plague of Justinian
Main article: Plague of Justinian

The Plague of Justinian in A.D. 541–542 is the first known attack on record, and marks the first firmly recorded pattern of bubonic plague. This outbreak is thought to have originated in Ethiopia. The huge city of Constantinople imported massive amounts of grain, mostly from Egypt, to feed its citizens. The grain ships were the source of contagion for the city, with massive public granaries nurturing the rat and flea population. At its peak the plague was killing 10,000 people in Constantinople every day and ultimately destroyed perhaps 40% of the city's inhabitants. It went on to destroy up to a quarter of the human population of the eastern Mediterranean.

In A.D. 588 a second major wave of plague spread through the Mediterranean into what is now France. It is estimated that the Plague of Justinian killed as many as 100 million people across the world.[10][11] It caused Europe's population to drop by around 50% between 541 and 700.[12] It also may have contributed to the success of the Arab conquests.[13] [14] An outbreak of it in the A.D. 560s was described in A.D. 790 as causing "swellings in the glands...in the manner of a nut or date" in the groin "and in other rather delicate places followed by an unbearable fever". While the swellings in this description have been identified by some as buboes, there is some contention as to whether the pandemic should be attributed to the bubonic plague, Yersinia pestis, known in modern times.[15]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plague_(disease)
-----------------

So, when the seventh century arrived, Europe was no more the same as it had been in the era of the Roman Empire so prosperous or struggling for survival.

Luk 5:18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

Freemasonry, New World Order, and the Illuminati

(Rice Fields, JAPAN)

Freemasonry, New World Order, and the Illuminati

Last night, a TV station in Japan presented the movie "Da Vinci Code."

This morning a cable TV channel around Tokyo presented a series of Freemasons, New World Order, and the Illuminati-related programs.

And, the newly elected head of the Democratic Party of Japan Mr. Yukio Hatoyama's late grandfather is known as having been a member of Freemasonry.

So, I like to mention some about the these-secret-societies thing.

First of all, I have nothing to do with any such an organization as Freemasonry, New World Order, and the Illuminati.

To make the matter clear, I just belong to the nation Japan. I only belong to the race Japanese.

And, there are no entities in this world that can surpass the entity Japan as a consolidated organization. Japan is far above Freemasonry, New World Order, and the Illuminati. To cope with Japan, you have to unite all the Americans so as to have them function as one nation, the United States of America. I do not need any secret societies of whatever sort.

However, I respect such a society as Judaists, Muslims, and poor Christians.

I do so, since it is not the era of the Roman Empire or the Empire of Japan.

"Till All be Fulfilled"

(Around Tokyo)

"Till All be Fulfilled"

The Democratic Party of Japan has today elected Mr. Yukio Hatoyama as successor of Mr. Ichiro Ozawa.

New head of the DPJ Mr. Hatoyama will lead the party into the coming general election. If he should win over the LDP, Mr. Hatoyama will replace Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso.

The very pro-America LDP looks however die-hard trying to keep power, though the ever increasing gap between the poor and the rich in the Japanese society needs a real regime change sometime.

Anyway, the first Japanese prime minister from the DPJ will be either Mr. Yukio Hatoyama or Mr. Katsuya Okada who has competed with Mr. Hatoyama today, though both of the men graduated from the University of Tokyo.

*** *** *** ***

There are many differences between the Roman Empire and the American Empire.

But, two things are strongly common: money and military.

And, the third one might be their facing a climate change, for example:
---------
Did Climate Change Kill the Roman Empire?
By LEE DYE
Dec. 10, 2008

"We are not able to say for sure that climate change was definitely the reason that the Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire declined, but rather that we now have data that correlates with the hypothesis historians have put forward," Orland said. "We're just adding data to the big pile that's already there."

Scholars have debated for centuries over the causes of those declines, and no doubt much more was at work than just climate change. But some records indicate that trade and agriculture both declined, which could have been caused by droughts. However, many historians also point to high taxes on goods and farmland as a probable cause for those declines.

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/JustOneThing/Story?id=6428550&page=2
---------

Little rainfall is sometimes accompanied by a fall of temperature. A dry and cool climate does not fit to the image of the Roman Empire.

Anyway, it was the era when agriculture was the only source for wealth that could sustain the great city Rome where no manufacturing industry existed and no import/export relationship was established with other regions.

If regions colonized by the Romans had suffered from significant decrease of agricultural production due to a climate change for years, the Roman Empire must have lost justification to occupy the region. To feed a million citizens in Rome, they absolutely needed a nice climate.
