The Two Gifts to Americans
Americans, historically, have received two gifts: the spirit of the Bible and the spirit of frontiers.
Based on these gifts, they could gain independence from the U.K. and Europe.
Based on these gifts, they could advance to the West, the Pacific Region, and further the Asian Continent.
Specifically, the Bible allowed for the Emancipation Proclamation and the establishment of the Obama Administration.
Specifically, the frontiers allowed for their engagement in Asia, even harboring the illusion of China.
And remarkably, America is now following the path of Alexander the Great, namely being on campaign in a region from Baghdad to Kabul.
The fall of the Roman Empire may be followed by the U.S. in the future; but, the fate of the Empire of Alexander the Great might be also followed by the U.S. in the near future.
If Americans do not make the best use of the spirit of both the Bible and the frontiers, they might be deprived of the glory realized by the spirit.
In that case, America will really fall like the Roman Empire and be doomed like the Empire of Alexander the Great in future, in my humble speculation.
(The Japanese National Diet will be prorogued until January 5, 2009. Japanese national lawmakers would, however, face strong requests from voters and tax payers for recovery of economy and enhancement of safety of the society. But, if I can take 10-day New Year holidays, I may visit Indonesia, Hawaii, and the Lincoln Memorial provided the God so wishes.)
