The Sea of Peace (la mer de paix)
After the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986, radioactive influence on Japanese seaperch continued for 1.7 years and that on Pacific cods 2.5 years in the sea around Japan.
If a radiation level in the sea water comes to be nil, radioactive material could be concentrated in fish 100 times more than in sea water.
It was a big mistake that Tokyo Electric Power Company let some of contaminated water get discharged to the Pacific Ocean in March and April, though its radiation level was said to be low enough.
There were many mistakes TEPCO and the Kan Cabinet made in dealing with the nuclear accident beyond their imagination, especially during March and April. That is why no good news are yet heard from Fukushima Daiichi. However, no secondary hydrogen explosions have occurred in the four crippled nuclear reactors of Fukushima Daiichi since March.
Anyway, the Japanese Government should apologize to all the countries facing the Pacific Ocean. It is estimated that a total of 4700 trillion Becquerels of radioactive material has leaked to the Pacific Ocean from Fukushima Daiichi.
SECTION I: Marine Contamination by Fukushima Daiichi
Cesium-137 is spreading from Fukushima Daiichi to the Pacific Ocean.
It is expected to reach Hawaii in three years and the U.S. West Coast in five years, as cesium-137 has a half-life of 30 years. However, its radiation level is within a safety range for the human body, according to the Japan Atomic Energy Agency. If you eat fish and other sea foods taken from the Pacific Ocean, there will be no harming to your health, according to the Japan Atomic Energy Agency.
Anyway, it is also estimated that in seven years radioactive materials leaked from Fukushima Daiichi to the Pacific Ocean would be diluted to nil as a matter of their effect.
SECTION II: Japanese Tsunami
The 3/11 Great Tsunami attacked the total 300 km (190 miles) of coast levees installed on Honsyu Island along the North Pacific Ocean.
Then, the tsunamis that followed the M9.0 earthquake on March 11 destroyed 190 km (110 miles) of the breakwaters among the total 300-km long levees which included a coast levee of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. They destroyed many ports and towns, taking 24,000 lives.
It happened in the northeast of Tokyo. But, other huge tsunamis are expected to occur in the southwest of Tokyo at any time.
SECTION III: China's Crazy Claim in the South China Sea
China is crazy claiming its territorial right on the Spratly Islands so far away from the Chinese continent.
During the era of the Vietnam War, such a crazy behavior was impossible, though.
It is offshore oilfields that run China mad. It is said that without an 8% annual increase in GDP, the Chinese society would be destabilized due to unemployment and a financial crunch. To maintain its high economic growth, it needs energy. So in order to avoid a possible civil war or catastrophic domestic unrest, the Chinese Government would rather opt for war or armed conflicts with other countries over territorial disputes and securing energy sources.

Japan is the sixth largest nation in terms of the area size of the territorial sea plus the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) over the sea, following the U.S., France, Australia, Russia, and Canada. However, India is the 12th and China is the 15th.
Japan has 4,479,358 km2, but China has just 877,019 km2, while the U.S. has 11,351,000 km2.
China should not beef up its Naval forces in competing with Japan and the U.S. If China should refrain from military expansion and invasion, there would be none that would destabilize the power balance in East Asia. In other world, only China is a big problem. But why? Maybe an answer is in religion in China. But what religion do they respect in China? And what if China is a country without religion, except Uighur Muslims and Tibetan Buddhists?
