Members of Churches or the Vatican are not Necessarily Promised
For you to become followers, if not Christians, of Christ Jesus who called Himself the Son of God, you should love the God as much as you can with all of your heart and strength.
In addition, you have to believe that there is the afterlife. Next, you have to believe that souls of poor and faithful men are accepted in Heaven, and souls of rich and evil men are to go to the hell. Finally, you have to fight against Satan like Christ Jesus. Then, you must be surely called followers of Christ Jesus.
Indeed, Christ Jesus did not tell that He was the God or His authority was based on the Trinity. Christ Jesus even did not tell that anybody who had different views on the God and Himself from churches or the Vatican should be His enemies.
You can be followers of Christ Jesus if churches or the Vatican denies or neglects you, since Christ Jesus did not give the authority to certify His followers to churches or the Vatican. It is not churches or the Vatican that allows you to enter Heaven or condemns you to the hell. It is the privilege of the God.
Christ Jesus told how to become His followers but not how to become members of churches or the Vatican. His followers are promised to be admitted into Heaven, but simple members of churches or the Vatican are not promised.

John 9, King James Version
13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
