The night before, I saw a Chaplin's movie aired by Japan's public TV station.

Also, last night, I saw another Chaplin's movie on the same channel.

Tonight, I might see other Chaplin's movie in the same broadcast time.

According to him, the silent movie is a kind of ballet shows.

Yes, Charles Chaplin is a cool entertainer, but not a hero himself of permanently unemployed persons on the street whom he played.

I am always amazed, whenever I saw his movie, at a stark difference in presence, not a simple visula appearance, between a hobo hero Chaplin played and other figures surrounding him except a girl he loved in a story.

For example, I can confirm how ordinary people in America, say, in 1918, looked like from his movie "Dog's Life." But, Chaplin in the film looks aloof from all the others and the time. Put extremely, it is as if an Asian comedian in 2006 were in a street of the U.S. in 1918.

His expressions are very universal rather than American, British, or Western at a fundamental level.

Such techniques could be only absorbed by having experienced a very poor life and a real human tragedy in one's youth.

Indeed, a very poor life and a real human tragedy in 2006 must be the same as those in 1918 in terms of effect on human spirit.

So, if somebody could show a stark difference in appearance or personality among many colleagues or peers, he or she should have learnt something deeply concerned with humanity somewhere beforehand.

Therefore, I am enjoying seeing him in a movie, wondering how he had succeeded in acquiring such a charm but failed in his life in extending what he had learnt to the real world to become another Mahatma Gandhi or a Martin Luther King Jr., if I may say.

I hope that someday a Chaplin in the 21st century, no matter if he is a Muslim or an Israelite in Palestine, will make such a film as those Charles Chaplin produced, according to the wish of the Supreme God.

The novel was about daily lives of policewomen in the U.S.

The point of issue is that they shoot the suspected to death without hesitation even when they are off duty.

This feeling cannot arouse sympathy of Japanese female readers.

Of course, it is a result of long-term, horrible experiences of American policewomen, in my view.

But, Americans should be alerted to a kind of deterioration in their social environment.

It is also alarming that one in 35 citizens in the U.S. is a criminal or an ex-criminal.

To your astonishment, you cannot buy a handgun at any shops in Japan.

No family has a handgun technically in Japan.

Though it is yet to be the case in Japan, if everybody in a town has the same amount of money and assets in their pockets, none should carry a handgun with himself / herself on the street for any purposes.

It may also be an issue of a kind of psychological syndromes.

What they need is courage to seek a right solution, love for neighbors, even though those policewomen still have a right and duty to be armed with a handgun.

I heard a rumor that Hezbollah's rockets hit the town Nazareth, killing tow boys, brothers, of a Muslim family.

I am afraid that it foretells the future of Palestine and the surrounding regions.

I mean that I cannot believe that Jesus Christ would not present anything serious and significant to mankind on this occasion of armed clash in his birth place as a member of mankind.

The last year's G8 meeting in the U.K. was synchronized by terrorist attacks in London.

This year, we have had North Korea's missile launchings, Mumbai trains bombings, and battles between Israel and Hezbollah, in addition to another tsunami disaster in Indonesia, the largest Islamic nation in the world.

Indeed, I did not expect that Japanese Prime Minister would run through all these incidents so closely in this period.

Did God use him to have people focus on Palestine as the Japanese prime minister made a state visit to Israel which had been postponed since former prime minister of Israel had been taken with serious illness?

If so, you had better anyhow check the Bible and al-Quran, in addition to some reports from Japan.

As I had felt beforehand something wrong in this World Cup Games 2006, I did not expect even the Japanese team to leave any monument on this occasion, while waiting for a kind of revelation from Heaven.

Japan lost to Brazil; Brazil lost to France; and France finally lost to Italy. And Italy has been suffering from frauds and degeneracy in its soccer sector and related business.

No one was a true hero or winner. Every team should be regarded as failed.

That is why God had beforehand guided me to avoiding holding any positive and joyful expectation in the World Cup Soccer Games 2006.

At last, Japanese Prime Minister is going to visit Israel and Palestine prior to joining the G8 meeting to be held in Russia.

The latitudes on which Palestine is located are almost the same as those of the southern part of the Japan's main island (called Honsyu).

People look up at the sky and stars at identical angles in both the holy regions.

An unbelievable fact about modern Palestine is that Muslims did not help Israelites establish their own country in Palestine after WWII in which millions of Israelites were killed by Christians due to the lack of a country of their own.

As Israelites and Muslims, in addition to Christians, share the same tradition as successors of Abraham in terms of faith, it is very unbelievable that Israelites could not get support and compassion from Muslims enough to reestablish their own country in their promised land so as to avoid future persecution by Christians.

If 4000 years ago an old man originally called Abram had not left a certain distinguished city in a region presently called southern Iraq following an order by God and heading westward, no Israelites should have been established as a tribe; no Christians might have ever appeared; and no Islam should have been given to mankind.

As I had warned, North Korea fired some missiles, actually, to certain areas of the Sea of Japan along Russian coast lines.

And now, people are talking about brinkmanship-addicted North Korea, embarrassed China, cautious Russia, betrayed South Korea, and peace-addicted Japan.

However, so long as none of those missiles, reportedly test-fired, does not fly over Japanese islands to the North Pacific or the Bering Sea near Alaska, there is nothing to worry about seriously, though North Korea is believed to have some nucleus bombs.

North Korea has no options ultimately but to get great support from Japan.

They fired some missiles, as if they had been urging Japan to do something to help and rescue them.

But, it might be interesting for some people to confirm the following facts that happened around July 5 in the East Asian time zone:
- Japanese Prime Minister returned home from his state visit to the U.S.

- The U.S. was celebrating the Independence Day.

- The Space Shuttle was about to be launched.

- The USS aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk was in port at a Japanese northern port city facing the Sea of Japan.

- The flag ship of the US Navy's seventh fleet was in port at a Russian port city facing the Sea of Japan.

- The North Korea diplomat branch was busy dealing with Japanese reporters invited to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, to give some information on an abducted Japanese who has been the focus of the social interest in Japan.

- Leaders of the largest opposition party in Japan were on a visit to China to meet Chinese leaders, including Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party.

- The G8 summit meeting in Russia is getting near, according to schedule.

If North Korea launched a missile, namely Taepodon 2 or 3, capable of carrying a nucleus warhead over the Japanese land to the U.S. maritime border with an intention to display their military capability of hitting the U.S. soil, they would incur American attacks at least on their missile sites and nucleus facilities.

In that case, the U.S. would not just sit and wait for another 9/11 terror to happen sometime in future with nucleus missiles instead of passenger jet planes.

North Korea might like to appeal to other countries that hate the U.S. for possible sales of missiles capable of hitting the U.S. mainland

However, under such conditions and through overt anti-American dealings, it is very unlikely that any countries would purchase such ballistic missiles, which might be used as an excuse of attacks on them by the U.S.

Nonetheless, North Korea seems to like to have a missile capable of reaching the American Continent, but they think they have to do so without giving a sense of imminent threat to the world and also without having the world get concerned much about possible nucleus warheads.

Yet, it may be for possible sales of those missiles in addition to getting in the inside track in negotiations with the U.S.

But my feeling is that some leaders of North Korea, including or excluding their supreme leader, had planned the test firing of the seven missiles at this time, aiming at appealing to Japan.

They might highly expect Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to make the third visit to Pyongyang to resume diplomatic sessions between the two countries for normalizing their relationships.

Of course, there are still many obstacles for Japan to take up the diplomatic channel into North Korea, such as Japanese abducted by and still kept in North Korea.

Again, in future, I hope that North Korea will become a friendly nation to Japan so as to become another Swiss between its old allies, China and Russia, and the U.S. force-dominant South Korea.

But, before that, all nations must be judged by the God Almighty.

A Japanese scholar visited Beijing University in 1973, that is, at the peak of the Cultural Revolution, and had a talk with professors and students.

A Chinese student said, "Though Chinese characters were invented in ancient China, modern Chinese academic terminologies were all imported from Japan, weren't they?"

It is true. Majority, namely about 70%, of modern Chinese terminologies related to natural science and social science were originally invented in Japan when Japan opened its door to the world late in the 19th century.

However, though they share the same writing expressions of those terminologies, pronounciation is very different between Japanese and Chinese, in addition to their grammar.

When Japanese began to absorb Western Civilization, they encountered many unfamiliar or different-style concepts, such as Communism, Socialism, Economy, Freedom, and Market, though similar concepts had been in Japanese culture and society. Accordingly, Japanese invented a new expression to each of those new concepts.

In doing so, they first selected two or more conventional Kanji characters as elements related to a new concept. Then, by combining these Kanji characters in a very innovative way, Japanese invented many modern Japanese academic terminologies, each of which precisely matches a Western academic terminology.

As Japanese Kanji letters had been originally imported from China and thus almost identical with Chinese letters, Chinese scholars and leaders decades ago or more than a century ago decided to import those Japanese Kanji-based terminologies, since until the mid 20th century China had been in wars, civil wars, and great social turmoil without any room for stable basement and development of academic activities.

Modern Chinese terminologies related to natural science and social science are expressed in combination of two or more Chinese characters. But, those who first invented such combinations to mean modern concepts, which were imported from Europe and America, were Japanese, not Chinese, of almost 150 years ago.

China imported those terminologies expressed in Kanji letters from Japan, and they still continue to use them even under the regime of the Chinese Communist Party.

It is said almost 1000 terminologies were imported to China from Japan before WWII, WWI, and the Japanese-Russo War, which helped Chinese people develop modern science and culture.

Japan is the only country from which China imported such new words to use in its society as well as in daily lives and activities of the people to that extent.

Now many Americans are learning Chinese.

More advanced they are in their study in Chinese, more they will learn terminologies Japanese invented and Chinese imported in the Meiji Era, late in the 19th century.

It is not a secret between Japan and China. Most of Chinese scholars love to use those Japanese-Kanji-based terminologies which give them new insight about depth of Japanese Kanji letters or their own Chinese characters.

In other words, they are learning Japanese terminologies when foreigners are proudly learning Chinese.

Put extremely in favor of Japan, it is like they are actually using Japanese technologies, inventions, and funds, when foreigners are sometimes proudly using Chinese modern products, services, and systems.

Other important issue is that due to the great work of those Japanese in the Meiji Era, Japanese as well as Chinese have not had to learn English, French, Germany, Latin or any other foreign languages to master Western science and culture.

Every valuable Western work can be translated into Japanese as well as Chinese using those terminologies expressed in Kanji letters.

In this respect, Japan has been a very exceptional country.

It is why, for example, African leaders are often astonished at and perplexed by a fact that while no Japanese speak English or French well they have such advanced technologies and economy.

While only one percent of African population had a chance to read and understand Western science and technologies with learnt Western languages, 100 percent of the Japanese had basically a chance to master it in their own language.

Even without Japan in history, Chinese civilization might be well advanced until the late 19th century.

But, the whole world today must look very different.

The difference must be more significant than in case of no existence of New Continents, including the American Continent.

However, can you really imagine such a world of today?

The difference is only matched by that caused by assumed non-existence of the God-blessed Israelites for 4000 years of human history, in my view.

The picture of a frigate ship of the Israel navy off the coast of Gaza after having fired on people on the beach was very impressive.

Palestine may be the only place on the earth with full history of wars and current conflicts to that extent.

Palestine is also very near to Rome, Paris, and London. It is nearer than Tokyo is to Viet Nam, Cambodia, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

How can Europeans bear that?

On the other hand, the last Stalinist nation on the earth North Korea is very near to Japan.

Majority of the people of North Korea are poor, very poor, and extremely poor. In any village, probably, you cannot find any family who owns a color TV, a PC, a mobile phone, a car, and US$10,000 equivalent all together.

Nonetheless, their government is preparing a launch of a new type of rockets or missiles. It has reportedly a capability to hit Alaska.

They might not launch it, since Japan and other countries are all against it.

But, they might launch it setting the timing at Japan's Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's state visit to the U.S.

If they cannot launch the rocket, it would symbolize the beginning of the end of the regime in North Korea.

If they do, still it would incur difficult conditions that should take the regime to the last phase.

The issue here is whether the shelling from an Israel navy ship might lead to the end of glorious Palestine.

Once, namely 2000 years ago, assaults by Roman Empire's military put an end to holy Palestine crowned with appearance of the Son of God or Jesus Christ.

Israelites returned to Palestine after millions of victims over 2000 year history to establish glorious Palestine for them.

But, some kind of ending might or must be near to contemporary Palestine, as something being repeated over and over again in the human history.

I have seen an unbelievable news report.

Two old Japanese craftsmen have been making Japanese scissors for over 60 years.

They are brothers, 80 years old or a little younger.

They burn iron bars and hit them with an iron hammer to form each part of a pair of scissors, mainly used for garment cutting.

They started this profession just after WWII, namely in 1945.

The technique is the same as the one employed for making a Japanese sword.

Traditionally Japanese used iron sands to make ironware. There are no large-scale iron mines except those including the mangetic iron ore in Japan.

What is worse, though we have had some coals, they are mostly deep under the ground. Therefore, until Japan introduced western technology late in the 19th century, it was not easy to make ironware, including the Japanese sword, from any types of iron sources.

However, it is well known that there are no swords or knives in the world that can match the Japanese sword in terms of quality and strength.

The nearest quality is only found in razors manufactured by German Solingen, though even Germans could not figure out another way to acheive the same quality as the Japanese sword.

Europeans have been historically lucky to have cokes that can provide necessary heat to melt iron. Iron needs heat at 1,800 degrees Celsius for melting. Cokes meets this condition. But, Japanese had to use charcoals that can provide heat at most at 1,200 degrees Celsius, though they chose a special type.

So, ancient Japanese invented special skills to make the high-quality of ironware through the use of charcoals, which requires the striking of iron with a hammer in very many times as well as water kept at a certain temperature for delicately contracting iron heated and hit well.

Each layer of a Japanese sword (usually consisting of three layers through a blade) includes a specific amount of carbon within iron to the best ratio, respectively.

It is not only material that makes the Japanese sword superb. The warp of a blade is also a key to makeing it especially edged and sharp. With this figure, the Japanese sword has sharpness that matches a safety razor.

(But, in this modern age, Japan has been one of top steel-making as well as iron-ore importing countries since its massive rebuilding of the nation's economy after WWII, while defeating the U.K. and other Western competitors and helping China and Korea luanch their own steel industry.)

If Europeans came to Japan, they could use neither iron ore nor cokes. And if Japanese visited Europe, they could not use iron sands and charcoals of a special type.

Either side cannot produce their best weapons in the foreign territory.

However, there are such ordinary people in Japan who have spent all of their professional lives, namely for 60 years, making Japanese scissors by hands with fire, water, and a hammer.

And they are respected and so televised.

But, we may need 60 more years to master how to use Japanese swords in Europe.

Then Japanese warriors, or samurai, might be well respected and so televised.

The issue is neither how to choose a leader nor whom to choose.

But, it is as to whether we have a mechanism to save the nation if we choose a wrong leader who might bring a disaster to the people.

You might choose Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin if you have a strong mechanism to stop him when he started to venture to kill an uncountable number of innocent people mainly in order to secure his assets and position or for wahtsoever reasons.

Vote for a leader, let him carry the nation, and forget about one's own duty to the nation is a very dangerous thing.

You had better try to change a leader as much as possible and as often as possible.

It is at most one year, I suppose, that anybody can do his best at the top of government. In the second year, he must be exhausted too much to carry out his duty if he has been working as he is supposed to be.

We cannot trust the media too much.

We cannot trust bureaucrats, financial circles, and lawmakers, either.

However, we need trustworthy missionaries by the roadside of society (but not in a church).

They must shout to the people that our leader is a Hitler or a Stalin, if necessary.

As the Diet session in Japan was over, now political focus is on who will succeed the incumbent prime minister, Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, this fall.

Whoever will accede to the highest post of the Japanese Government through democratic process, we had better prepare as many missionaries as possible who can be mobilized in case.

For people outside Japan, you had better regard future Japanese prime minister as a symbol of the Government.

It is also a Japanese tradition that a decisive power is in the hand of a top's surrogate's surrogate.

In the Wall Street, we know, they got a report on the governor of the Bank of Japan.

The governor supported Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami who quite actively helped Mr. Takafumi Horie get big money, nearly 9 billion dollars as aggregate market price, through very dubious stock-market transactions which also brought big profit to Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami's fund.

And, both Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami and Mr. Takafumi Horie were arrested this year.

The governor several years ago, when he was working outside the Bank of Japan, invested about 90,000 dollars (10 million yen) in Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami's fund. After he was appointed as the governor of the Bank of Japan, he still continued to entrust the money to the fund till this February.

Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami was manipulating 3.6 billion dollar fund till recently. His fund got many overseas clients, for example, from the U.S.

Now it is widely known that Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami, a former high-ranking bureaucrat of the Japanese Government, had a lot of eminent friends while actively operating his fund, including the governor of the Bank of Japan, some parliament members of Japan's Diet, and a certain tycoon in the financial sector.

Any American investors would trust Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami, if they are advised that his fund includes a private investment of the governor of the Bank of Japan who once served as an advisory-board member of the very fund.

As the Bank of Japan is the central bank of Japan, this news has attracted a great deal of attention even in the Wall Street.

But, the saddest part of this report is that Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami has never invented any creative financial instruments based on science and economics, just like Mr. Takafumi Horie did not invent any innovative technology and business in the IT sector, though they got big money personally in unit of 100 million dollars through transactions in the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

And, we are yet to see if the governor of the Bank of Japan has ever achieved something professionally innovative.

When the 9/11 general election was called last year, no Japanese dreamed of this sequence of incidents to happen soon.

At that time, Mr. Takafumi Horie war running for the election, while the media was praising Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami as a hero in a new era of Japan's financial sector.

But now, if you are a Japanese voter or taxpayer and informed that it is truly an expression of God's anger, you might find that it could be an only rationale for such fates of those super-rich people.

Everybody uses electricity that is a main feature of the contemporary civilization.

Without electricity, no TVs, no PCs, and no cellular phones are possible. You should live in an era before the Civil War, which might be not so bad for many.

But what is electricity? It is a flow of a tremendous number of electrons through a conductor such as a copper wire, which can be measured by ampere.

Another famous work in this field of applied solid physics is an invention of a blue light-emitting diode (LED), a long-time dream of industry for it was so useful but looked so impossible.

The invention was carried out by a Japanese company, Nichia Corporation, in 1993. But, an employee of the company, Mr. Shuji Nakamura, claimed that the patent right of the blue LED belongs to him.

The dispute was settled through an appeal court that admitted a big contribution of Mr. Shuji Nakamura to the invention and ordered the company to pay a large amount of money to the former employee, which was actually observed.

However, Nichia Corporation renounced the related patent, which Mr. Shuji Nakamura focused on in his claim, because a technology based on the patent is no use for industrial production of blue LEDs. Hence, Mr. Shuji Nakamura's contribution to the company's revenue might become almost nil.

Mr. Shuji Nakamura, before a blue LED was invented, had been sent to a U.S. university for related study on the company's account; he also had been allowed to use a total of about five million dollar R&D expenses of the company for the blue LED development.

According to announcements and reports of Nichia Corporation, there are some other engineers and scientists within the company that had well cooperated with Mr. Shuji Nakamura in the blue LED project, and some of them had actually invented a very ingenious way of fabricating a related material for the blue LED which Mr. Shuji Nakamura could not find out on his own, though he was a leader of those engineers.

There are two important issues in these successful inventions. First, you alone cannot make a breakthrough invention nowadays in modern industrial and scientific environment where even your own unique idea is to the great extent based on, and supported by, various information and contribution from others.

Second, you alone should not claim a disproportional reward for your contribution, because such an eccentric behavior should destroy colleagues' moral fiber and thus damage future potential of sound development of an organization as well as an industrial society involving many citizens, voters, and tax payers.

Both the above two great engineering achievements were done in Japan.

But, if a brilliant Japanese engineer is in the U.S. pursuing such a big challenge, a kind of brokers concerned with such an extraordinarily promising technology might come to him as a friend who would convince him that he is a hero and not a mere employee or a slave of a company, and thus he should claim a big money as much as possible or, say, a billion dollars for an invention he was involved in as a leader.

Americans might not like such a story, but if individualism and freedom in the U.S. are most advanced in this world, then such a story would most likely happen in the U.S. before it occurs in any other countries including Japan.

The Self Defense Force of Japan cannot be used for the purpose of a war against any foreign countries.

Japan has no intention to develop nuclear missiles.

Believe or not, God recently hinted me that something would be done to restore honor of a Japanese youth killed by an Al-Qaeda group in Iraq in 2004.

Specifically, the God recently gave me a report on a Japanese youth, Mr. Shosei Koda, who had been killed in Baghdad by members of a terrorist group associated with Al-Qaeda in October, 2004.

I was deeply impressed by the report in that he was depicted as a sincere inquirer, though so hastily interested in difficult political situations in the Middle East as to make light of danger waiting for him in Iraq. It was indeed just before the massive assault by the U.S. Army on Fallujah.

He had come to Iraq alone as a poor backpacker through Israel and Jordan after having learnt English in New Zealand.

He was killed, because Japan rejected a request by terrorists to withdraw its Self-Defense Force troops stationed in southern Iraq for humanitarian activities.

Then, that big news came in from Baghdad.

The leader of the group responsible for Mr. Shosei Koda's death was killed yesterday or so in a two U.S. F-16 fighter-planes attack.

A few months ago, an Arab youth who was more directly responsible for the death of Mr. Shosei Koda was also captured and televised, though being alive.

Mr. Shosei Koda is one of five Japanese victims who were killed by insurgents or terrorists in Iraq after the end of major combats in Iraq since 2003.

Two of the others were diplomats; and the last two were journalists.

Mr. Shosei Koda was officially categorized as a traveler in Japan.

Indeed, the news of the death of the Al-Qaeda leader in Iraq has been widely reported in Japan through the press and on TV.

However, what we should remember is the behavior and words of Mr. Shosei Koda in a video tape the terrorist group delivered to intimidate Japan in early November, 2004.

He said, "I am sorry, Koizumi-san. They said that they would kill me unless troops of the Japanese Self-Defense force were withdrawn. I want to come back to Japan alive."

Mr. Shosei Koda didn't cry, shout, or tremble while being surrounded by armed terrorists. He looked like trying to look well as much as he could.

Though I don't know exactly the reaction of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to this televised scene at that time, some Japanese must today reaffirm that Mr. Shosei Koda was not a coward at all by reviewing the tape delivered in 2004 in the wake of the recent big news of American Air Force's successful attack on the terrorist leader.

The War in Iraq may be memorized by some Japanese as a war with five victims as above mentioned.

But, we know nowadays tens of people are killed everyday in Iraq by bombs, bullets, and knives.

Japan may not be in a position to ask the God or Allah for any special consideration for Japanese victims, though not out of revenge or something like that.

The God Almighty has however responded.

We know what was behind the large-scale American white-collar crimes, such as the Enron and WorldCom incidents.

It is ordinary workers of those companies whose benefits were directly (or through stock options) linked to stcok prices of the companies they were working in and for.

If they believe that earning as much as possible as an individual in the economic society is a right thing, it is no wonder that they have felt no sense of guilty even after the massive exposure of those frauds.

In Japan, Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami, former notorious fund manager and president of a Japanese investment company, has been identified as a behind-the-scene figure for part of the Livedoor incidents that hit the world money market several months ago when Tokyo district public prosecutors launched investigation on the company.

Recently Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami purchased many stocks of a company that controls a professional baseball team.

It is a scheme similar to the one where then Livedoor president had tried to purchase a professional baseball team.

They seem to have collided with a certain, identical behind-the-scene figure.

Many foreign funds have invested in Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami's fund; but as Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami had quit his professional posts before arrest by Tokyo district prosecutors, he cannot be involved in money operation any more.

Devils can catch a boy and set a path for big money, telling him that he has such a brilliant mind set for getting big money; and the poor boy might feel happy.

I would like to find such a talent in myself earlier than devils, in order to avoid a servile position to them, with help from the God Almighty.

The most profound mystery about the Bible is the death of the Christ on the cross.

There are many interpretations about it. But, the so-called Christian authorities like to adopt the most biased theory among those that might be tolerated.

If they needed to choose one of the theories, they should have taken the most significant one as a base of the faith of their group. But, actually they took the most difficult one that could be connived at only in an extreme situation for presenting the religion.

The theory I like is that the incident made it clear the relationship between mankind and the God or in what status mankind is in the relationship with the God.

Based on characteristics of this relationship, every human problem can be explained. It tells why every one is unhappy unless he or she is insane, devilish, or blind-minded to whatsoever degree. It also tells why poverty and unfairness cannot be ever eradicated.

Mankind was so insane, devilish, or blind-minded that he killed the Son of the God 2000 years ago.

As mankind has been so bad, it is no wonder that our history is full of wars, atrocities, and tragedies.

In other words, if you are asked why there are so many poor people in this world, you should answer that it is because mankind has been so bad as to kill the Son of the God whom He sent to the world.

Jesus Christ could carry all our sins caused our badness through his death on the cross with unlimited forgiveness.

Nonetheless, our being bad still continues. It is because we still continue to be so bad as to kill the Son of the God.

It is why you cannot solve any significant problems of the human world.

I do not want to blame anybody.

However, I feel very uncomfortable that people are dying everyday on this earth while they are still surrounded by sinful others, even 2000 years after the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Anyway, Jesus Christ revived and went on to other missions after he had made it clear the relationship between mankind and the God, which must have been one of his missions on this earth and in history.

Accordingly, I put hopes on the relationship between myself and the God.

Therefore, basically I do not blame anybody.

A research group of Tokyo Medical College has discovered a new type of cells that has special characteristics neither eukaryotic cells nor prokaryotic cells have.

Natural life forms on the earth are made of cells. And, it has been believed that there are only two types of cells in the nature (though one type of cells applies to two types of primitive life forms).

A human being is made of 60 trillion cells, the types of which are all eukaryotic. However, a bacterium is made of a prokaryotic cell.

No other types of cells have been so far known to human beings, at least until this new discovery.

It is believed that a prokaryotic cell, which had first appeared 4 billion years ago, evolved to a eukaryotic cell 1.5 billion years ago. And then, eukaryotic cells evolved to constitute an animal as well as a plant.

The newly discovered cell is situated between a eukaryotic cell and a prokaryotic cell.

It should give information and clues needed for answering the question as to how a prokaryotic cell evolved to a eukaryotic cell.

In this respect, the cell the researchers of Tokyo Medical College recently discovered from the depths of the sea near Japan might establish the third type of cells, as it has only a partial sheet or film surrounding and protecting DNA in a cell.

Early this morning, in the Japanese time zone, the Japanese national soccer team was matched against the German team as a goodwill game prior to the World Cup in Germany.

The score was even: 2 to 2.

Coach of the Japanese team Zico looked happy.

The Japanese team is used to be laughed at, because they look too excellent in team work and passing a ball among team mates in a football match to get a goal at all.

In the summer of 2004, Japan defeated China at the final game of Asia Cup in Beijing to be an Asian champion.

If the coach of the Japanese team had been a Japanese instead of Zico, a Brazilian, the result of the match might have been different.

Japanese players had been exposed to bare hostility at stadiums in various Chinese cities during the Asia Cup games. In Beijin, they were also amid anti-Japan sentiment of China that unfriendly rekindled memory of the Sino-Japanese war that had occurred before and during WWII.

It is often said that Germany fully apologized for atrocities it had done during WWII, but Japan didn’t.

There is a big misconception about reasons for an Imperial Japan’s decision on launching a war on the continent of China as well as the U.S. and its allied countries.

Yes, I got that report on another great earthquake in Indonesia.

Thousands of people were dead, while survivors were crying in fear and sadness.

Accordingly, I tried to remember passages related to an earthquake or earthquakes in the Holy Scripture or the Bible of King James version.

When the 9/11 Attacks happened, I remembered the following part:

“And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!”

“And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

When the War on Terror began, I remembered the following part:

“And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”

Now as the earthquake has occurred:

“And there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.”

But, more alarming is the following as we have heard of a pagan, popular work such as the one related to Leonardo da Vinci:

“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.”

Perhaps, we must be further prepared for the End of the World:

“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light.”

“And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.”

However, we are to be saved:

“And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.”

“And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.”

Victory will be indeed complete again.

It covers Islamic regions and India.

People living in those areas must know a need of faith more than those in the U.K. and the Netherlands, for example.

A Japanese journalist interviewed French authorities on terrorist movement.

A female, senior bureaucrat of a French agency in Paris said, “They do not represent Muslims just like Aum Shinrikyo did not represent Buddhists.”

Aum Shinrikyo is a Japanese cult that carried out sarin gas attacks on the Tokyo subways in 1995, which injured about 5,000 commuters in addition to ten deaths.

(Now, the top leader of the cult is on trial, though his counselor is claiming that the trial should be suspended by reason of insanity of his client placed in the Tokyo Detention Center)

According to a book by the Japanese journalist, when Ahmed Shah Massoud was assassinated on September 9, 2001 in Afghanistan, there were several European ladies in Jalalabad, southeast of Kabul, who married Muslims living in residences far better than neighboring ones. Al-Qaeda provided the accommodation for them.

Leader of anti-Taliban forces Ahmed Shah Massoud was killed, prior to the 9/11 attacks on the U.S., by a suicide bomber and another assassin who came from Jalalabad in the disguise of Europe-based reporters, following an order of Al-Qaeda.

As I once reported, when Taliban carried out demolition, in March, 2001, of a 165-foot statute of Buddha carved at a cliff in Bamian, Afghanistan, in the fourth century, we should have been more alerted.

It is not only President George W. Bush or Prime Minister Junichiro Kizumi who is to blame.

But, European leaders also should have realized that something strange was going on in Jalalabad in the summer of 2001.

Before arrival of Islam at Bamian, Buddhism prevailed there.

Hsuan Tsang, a notable Chinese Buddhism priest of high virtue, departed China in 629 to India, passing Bamian. He not only studied the religion but also made a huge collection of Buddhist scriptures in India.

Those scriptures were translated into Chinese, and then imported into Japan.

Hsuan Tsang’s travel took 17 years over 30,000Km (18,000 miles) from China to India through Central Asia, including Afghanistan, in the seventh century.

A story on his travel and adventure, called “Xi You Ji (or Saiyuki in Japanese),” is still popular in China and Japan.

I cannot believe that God has ever ordered the people of scriptures, that is, Israelites, Christians, and Muslims, to destroy Buddhism.

For example, Japan that might overwhelm any other countries on the earth except the multi-race, multi-culture, and multi-tradition United States of America consists mainly of people who think themselves to be a kind of Buddhist.

Even in comparison with Israelites, Japanese might be allowed to claim that God has blessed Japanese more than Israelites in terms of glory of a tribe.

And, Japanese are mostly Buddhist, if we venture to categorize them.

Things originated in Afghanistan, such as the 9/11 Attacks and the War on Terror, might be predicted or measured still by focusing on how parties concerned are dealing with Buddhism.

In that case, Japanese might be able to, or willing to, play a key role as Americans and Europeans can.

Whenever I watch a world map, I cannot help but feel a grand design of God Almighty.

God set the tribe of Israelites in human history without a fanfare 4000 years ago in Southern Iraq, the territory of an ancient race of Sumerians.

God sent Jesus Christ to Israelites so as to make Christian the Roman Empire and its successors in whole Europe.

God also allowed for Arabs and Persians as well as other nearby Aryans to be linked to so blessed Israelites and Christians through the Koran.

God let Europe thrive with science and technology while providing crude oil fields for Arabs and Persians.

God has kept His promise to Israelites to protect its existence and survival among other nations forever, too.

Theoretically, the present world must be in peace and concord with Europe providing technology, Muslims providing crude oils, and Israelites providing linkage to God.

However, as you see, something is wrong, and awfully wrong.

The Grand Design of God Almighty on the so-called People of Scriptures seems to be being betrayed by pagans.

But, God might be expecting other nations, including Japan, to play their roles to further reveal His Almightiness of God.

European Americans might have to tackle this inherited issue.

But, time is running out fast, with crude oils being consumed incessantly and development of technology being behind the needs for solving critical energy and environmental issues.

My worry is that there are some people who look truly pagan everywhere on the earth which God Almighty possesses in addition to human souls on it.

Negligence of God’s Design could cause destruction on the entire human society, theoretically.

Everyone seems to be concerned, nowadays, as to whether Jesus Christ had married Mary Magdalene who, reportedly, later fled to Southern France and gave birth to a child that became an ancestor of founders of a certain French dynasty.

While Jesus Christ lived and acted as a Son of God among early Christians under 24-hours-per-day watching and monitoring by His disciples and enemies, He physically must not have had such a chance as the one which some rotten, 21st-century mankind would imagine about Him.

Logically, as there were many unhappy women at that time who would not rather believe in any savior that had a happy life with an attractive woman, He must have avoided, at any costs, making such unhappy women further unhappier.

Therefore, physically and logically, during his work in Palestine as God to early Christians, there couldn’t be any possibility of marriage between “God Jesus” and Mary Magdalene or any woman, whoever she was.

In terms of marriage, John reported as follows:
“And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

Jesus Christ said to His mother who was worried about arrangement of the feast, “Woman, what have I to do with thee?”

Then, His mother found that now His son was acting as the Son of God.

Indeed, Jesus Christ ordered servants of the house to take "hidden water" out of jars and pour it to pots. The "water" changed to "wine." The miracle was done and recorded accordingly.

Most probably, the servants were told before the feast to hide the jars which, they were told, contained "water" but in fact nice "wine."

Who had told them to hide the wine under the disguise of water?

The bride or the bridegroom had done it in order to enjoy the wine later alone with her husbandor or his wife, or sell it for their new family budget.

Nonetheless, when Jesus Christ was traveling and preaching in the Middle East after resurrection as a human prophet or a fellow being of Israelites in foreign lands, He might encounter such a chance or need as “marriage” with a woman under a special condition, which is however beyond imagination of some rotten, 21st century mankind.

If Jesus Christ can turn plain water to wine of fine quality, He must be able to change any woman to Miss Universe so as to marry her.

It is very sinful to make money by selling a fantasy about His marriage, even if it had happened somewhere in the Middle East or Kashmir, though modern Christians look more tolerant than Muslims.

I am not such a pagan as would be glad joining the folly.

Nonetheless, I might tell you more, according to the Will of God, wishing Godspeed.

If you buy a map in Japan, you will see the Japanese archipelago located at the center of the map. On the left hand side is the Eurasia continent, and on the right are the Pacific Ocean and the New World. The Atlantic is split at the both horizontal end of the map.

You will soon realize the belt area running from Japan to Morocco through China, Indochina, India, the Middle East, and North Africa is not a Christian domain.

The only exception is the Philippines, a Catholic country (though with many descent Muslims in it), situated east of Indochina in the ocean.

North of this belt is Europe and Siberia including Russia: the conventional Christian domain.

The two belts are running almost parallel across Asia, Europe, and a half of Africa, that is, from the east to the west of the Old World. But, it is very strange that Jesus Christ could not work on the lower belt, while He is God.

At least Jesus’ influence should be found in the area now occupied by Muslims.

And, if an underlying influence of Jesus Christ is found on Islam, the world might look different.

Jesus Christ is God for Christians, a prophet for Muslims, and just one fellow being for Israelites.

He worked as such for each of those who were later called early Christians, those who would become underlying believers for future Islam, and those who would be to remain as Israelites forever, respectively.

Why could it be possible? It is because He is God, and thus he could be God, a prophet, and a fellow being at his will according to needs of people.

Therefore, for Muslims, “Jesus” is nothing but a human prophet; for Israelites, “Jesus” is nothing but a fellow being, which is truly an act of God.

In my theory, when Jesus Christ got out of the tomb and met with His disciples to give final blessings as God in a human form, He let his Spirit of God ascend to heaven and walked into regions east of Palestine as a prophet.

As a prophet, He performed untold but decisive work on people who turned to be a base for future propagation of Islam.

As a fellow Israelite, He also visited descendants of lost tribes of ancient Israelites in order to help them keep their traditions.

In the first century of the Christian Era, there were Roman Empire in the west and Kingdom of Parthia in the east. But, there were no strong Arab countries. Iran, then called Parthia, had a long history as a political entity with overwhelming power in the ancient Middle East that no Arabs then could match.

(If ancient Persians defeated Greeks in 490 BC, there should not have been the Roman Empire and there could not been even current EU.)

Then, why would Persians later come to adopt a religion called Islam that was established and developed by Arabs who had never conquered Iran until the seventh century?

Would people employ a new and strange religion developed by other race that had never been superior to them in terms of culture and politics? But, later in the seventh century, Persians did.

So, I suppose that there had been a special condition that persuaded Persians to adopt a foreign religion while abandoning their traditional one.

When we think of the history of religions in Persia, this enigma looms as a problem that admits of no solution.

But, my solution is that “Prophet Jesus” preached there 600 years before the arrival of Islam at Persia. Persians had been prepared for the opportunity by “Prophet Jesus.”

Of course, revival of Zoroastrianism and establishment of Manichaeism in the third century must be also influenced by this work of “Prophet Jesus” in the era of Parthia, that is, the first century AD, in my understanding.

One of the most serious mysteries of the world is religious conversion of Persians to Islam in the seventh century. No one would rather connect it with the mysterious resurrection of Jesus Christ in the first century.

But, this is my theory so far God has not stopped me from contending to the world in the 21st century.

Persians, one of Aryan tribes, might have been crueler to neighboring Arabs in wars and battles without the common religion. In this point of view, the work of “Prophet Jesus” in Parthia, if so admitted by people concerned, was truly an act of a savior.

Muslims might not like this theory. But, “Prophet Jesus,” in addition to Abraham and Moses, was mentioned in the Koran. And, I don't say that Jesus Christ did it, but “Prophet Jesus” did.

Some people believe that Jesus Christ traveled to Kashmir, a border area between Pakistan and India, after He had been restored to life from death on the cross (e.g. http://www.geocities.com/emerging.geo/savior.html).

Kashmir is one of places, some people believe, where a certain lost tribe of ancient Jews traveled and survived.

Names of local places, traditions of people, and some folklore in Kashmir seem to constitute evidence for the above argument.

However, it is not certain if the so-called Jesus’ tomb in a town of Kashmir, so believed to be and accordingly maintained, is really the one.

The recent great tsunami disaster on Indian Ocean coast lines and the subsequent large earthquake in Northeast Pakistan are, in this context, very suggestive, though they took out many human lives and we are extremely sorry for the victims.

Kashmir is located in Northeast Pakistan and is full of Muslims. And most of victims of the great tsunami disaster were Muslims.

Nonetheless, I think that these incidents might imply something holy in terms of the region and the religion.

Proponents of this idea pay special attention to Jesus’ words: “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

They believe that Jesus Christ after resurrection visited descendants of ancient Jews that had fled eastward after ancient Kingdom of Israel had been defeated by Assyria in 721 B.C.

I really think that Jesus Christ traveled eastward as a savior after resurrection, while his disciples mostly traveled westward.

Jesus Christ must have visited Southern Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and as far as Kashmir. In these areas, even today, we can see Judaists or legends concerning ancient Jews.

Interestingly, His passage resembles that of Alexander the Great. Therefore, it is not impossible physically or logically. Jesus Christ is greater than Alexander the Great, isn’t He?

However, I am not sure if He spent the rest of His life until His death in Kashmir so as to be buried there.

But the point of this issue is that Jesus Christ, as the savior, must not have neglected people living east of Israel while his disciples were mainly preaching west of Israel. Europe was directly blessed by his disciples; but what about people in the Middle East and Southwest Asia?

Even Alexander the Great marched into those areas, didn't he? His world-scale expedition, as the first in history, had massive and various cultural influences on people therein in the era.

Then, why not Jesus Christ, in terms of doing them a holy favor?

The headquarters of a terrorist group involved in 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001, with a magnitude of influence comparable with the great tsunami and earthquake disasters, are now believed to be in or around Kahimir, the earthquake-hit area.

Only a region with special, religious tradition might give unconditional relief to anybody, implication of which is however very serious.

The most significant mystery of Jesus’ story the Bible reports is what actually happened at the tomb where he had been buried after crucifixion.

According to the Mark’s version of the report (of the King James version):

“And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

The most controversial part is that passage: “Behold the place where they laid him.”

This part reminds us of the Holy Shroud in Turin or Torino, or other similar thing. Unless there had been a very significant thing worth attention of those women, the young man should not have dictated them to see it. It could be an image of Jesus Christ on a large piece of linen cloth that had been used to wrap His body.

I suppose that this young man, probably one of descent Israelites then, had come to the site earlier than the women. He must help Jesus Christ come back to life again by rolling a large stone placed at the entrance to the cave-like tomb and handing a new suit of clothes to Jesus Christ. As the noble young man had been exposed to some special heat and radiation of light caused by revitalization processes of Jesus’ body, his clothes turned to white, in my interpretation.

Why did the young man come to the sepulcher? It is because he got a message or vision of God who told him to do so, probably in his dream.

Where, then, did Jesus Christ go after His last appearance to His disciples in Galilee?

That is the most important mystery of the history of mankind. Based on the very next move of Jesus Christ, the whole 2000-year history since then was established.

I have an idea about it.

We have to well prepare ourselves for an important mission.

No one knows whether the prophecy is true or what becomes of mankind if it is true.

But it seems to have served as an underlying condition for the success of the work by the American author.

Currently, mankind has oil and foods enough to allow those with power and wealth to give little thought about their future lives. Those people think that their rich lives are assured during their lifetime.

Therefore, people with any degree of wealth and power basically do not mind if we have only two popes left in the human history.

It is because they think there are sufficient amounts of energy and foods in their hands, which no popes can do anything with.

However, God can do.

In my view, the pope looks like a Roman emperor 2000 years ago. He looks more so than a homeless savior having been preaching to poor or abandoned people 2000 years ago.

In my judgment, the pope is a symbol of the historical fact that Roman Empire was conquered by Jesus Christ. For 2000 years, every successor of the Empire has been forced to commemorate the victory of Jesus Christ; and thus the pope must look like a Roman emperor.

You might think that a certain secret has been passed from Jesus Christ to his direct disciples and then all the way down to the current pope.

There might be, but it should be only related to those who have been assigned to the commemorating mission. It should be only related to maintenance of discipline in the last remnant of Roman Empire, that is, Vatican City.

For example, the secret might be a Jesus' advice: "Be a Rock."

If such a secret is more important, Jesus Christ should have sent other servants to the human world at any point of history and have them widely announce it.

In any cases, he doesn't need his children in order to pass a secret.

(Anyway, it is not his wife and children that can save the world, if he had any. And if he had such a wife and children that cannot save the world, who would respect Jesus Christ? Therefore, to believers, Jesus Christ has neither a wife nor children.)

Most of rich people think that they can live rich and die rich in the 21st century even if we don’t have any popes for some reasons.

It is because they are now living in super-mighty systems that are supported by enough oil and foods in addition to modern technology.

Any such work as “The Da Vinci Code” can be an opportunity for entertainment for them, but it looks very pagan.

If Jesus Christ, himself, comes back to the human world or another Christ comes to this world, no popes will be allowed to exercise the title and its authority any more. It will be the end of the mission of Vatican City.

“No popes” means Christ himself takes the chair. Otherwise, the end of the world may be near, at least, logically.

What now I mind is similarity between the sailor’s name ISHMAEL and the EHIMEMARU, a 191-foot fishery training boat of a Japanese high school.

The Ehimemaru was hit by a USS submarine off Honolulu in February, 2001, losing nine lives including high school students.

In the last section of his book, Sun Tzu wrote that if a nation is defeated in a war, it will not be completely restored; and a dead man never comes back alive.

A high school girl in Germany said that some students have been bullied and got subject to discrimination. “It is due to clothing they wear,” said the girl with a clear-cut face, though not blonde.

A teacher of the German high school told that introduction of the school uniform would reduce that kind of troubles among students.

Germany looks locked somehow geographically, while the nation has a huge potential of expansion of its human energy and activities.

The U.K. is faced with the Atlantic and the world beyond; France and Spain are faced with the Atlantic and the Mediterranean as well as the world beyond; and even Italy with the Mediterranean and the world beyond. But Germany, once called the Great Roman Empire, is only surrounded by other European countries.

The succor match resulted in 1 to 2 defeat of the Japanese national team, though the team was not joined by Nakamura and Nakata this time.

I didn’t see the game on TV until it entered an extension period after the 90 minute length of the game. However, the coach of the Japanese team Zico (Arthur Antunes Coimbra) was smiling, shaking hands with a coach of the Bulgarian team.

It is apparent that Nakamura had a talent to perform the sport skillfully, which is very rare among Japanese football players.

Nakata has a sufficient mind-set and strength to compete on an international stage, which is not so common among Japanese football players.

President took about 30 minutes to have a listen to petition from the deprived, Japanese old lady who had even been converted to Christianity through her agony of losing her then junior-high school daughter having been spirited off on her way back from a school.

The supreme leader of North Korea, when he met Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi in P'yongyang in 2002 and 2004, admitted that his agents had abducted Ms. Megumi Yokota in 1977 as part of a covert operation.

They presented her bones to Japanese Government that her husband, whom she had married in North Korea, collected and kept after having dredged them up from a tomb where her dead body burnt to ash had been buried. But the bones turned out to be false after DNA examination by Japanese authorities very recently.

Ms. Megumi Yokota must be alive in North Korea, as with her daughter being separated due to divorce.

However, the abduction cases involving North Korean agents had been long neglected in Japan.

The Yokotas were first informed in 1997 of the fact that their daughter had been abducted by North Korea. It is a secretary of a Japanese Communist Party’s law maker that provided the reliable information for, and helped the Yokotas in organizing an action group of abductees’ families.

The secretary of a Japanese Communist Party’s legislator was later fired by his Party for his asking an officer of a division of the National Police Agency, in charge of keeping watch on the Party, to help him find a new job after retirement from the Party. (Once the Japanese Communist Party was an apparent enemy of the Japanese police.)

In the United States, it is said that the Korean War is a forgotten war. But, it is yet to officially declare end of the war, while about 30,000 U.S. troops are stationed on the Korean Peninsula.

One particular incident during the Korean War is that when General Douglas MacArthur almost decided to use atomic (nuclear) bombs to destroy supply routes in territories of China, then U.S. President Harry S. Truman fired the legendary general to stop the use of atomic bombs.

Everybody says that Cuban Crises in 1962 has been the only danger that a nuclear war might have broken out.

But, such probability must have been more real in the borader area pulling in China, North Korea, and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1951, just six years after the first use of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, while the same president that had ordered the atomic-bomb attacks on Imperial Japan was still in the White House.

However, they would eagerly report anything that might happen in a large scale at the border located 700Km or 400 miles east of the capital of China, Beijing or Peking, which offers huge market to U.S. and Japanese corporations.

On TV, on the Internet, and in the newspapers and magazines, possibility of existence of mad-cow disease in the U.S. and admissibility of import of US beef have become one of big issues in Japan.

Since bony chops were found at the Narita Airport in a beef package imported from the U.S., import of U.S. beef has been officially suspended.

The spiral code in a bone of a cow is apt to collect a special type of protein that causes bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) or a serious brain damage.

In Japan, all the cows are inspected before they are put into meat processing. But, in the U.S., such measures are reportedly considered to be unnecessary.

There is a special law in the U.S., which is called the Food-Disparagement Law. As was shown in a case concerned with a very popular American TV personality, if you say something that puts a food company into a disadvantage without concrete scientific proof, you can be sued by the food company based on this law.

Therefore, it is very difficult to express your concern that an unusual pattern of findings of the Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) in the U.S., if so discovered, might suggest existence of mad cows and related BSE there.

Sporadic CJD which has nothing to do with mad cows is said to be observed in one person among a million. So, even if you find 300 CJD patients in the U.S., they might have nothing to do with mad cows and BSE that appears with a symptom of CJD caused by prion protein in their meat.

But, if there is something controversial in those medical cases, even without concrete scientific evidences, most Japanese consumers will not buy American beef, no matter if Japanese Government allows U.S. beef companies to sell their products in the Japanese market.

It is because Japanese want higher quality of food and service in addition to sufficient respect for consumers.

A Japanese engineer working in the U.S. wrote that he had heard of two CJD patients from his friends and clients in two years. In his small circle of human relationship, he wrote, finding two CJD patients seemed to be very grave.

If the number of his acquaintances and those covered by his acquaintances is, say, 1000. There might be 300,000 CJD patients in the U.S. (300,000,000 / 1000 = 300,000) or 600,000. Then, it might be 1000 or 2000 times larger than the rationally assumed number of onsets of CJD that are not caused by mad cow beef.

I believe that U.S. food companies are doing their best to offer the safest foods in the world to their clients, including European Americans, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and other immigrants.

So far as now, among 4.5 million cows in Japan (against 95 million cows in the U.S.), 25 mad cows have been identified. But, as all the cows are inspected in Japan before they are put into meat processing, consumers are enjoying beef.

Whenever I recall the recent history of the world, I wonder how strange it is that the world has now a very concerned person, former president of Iraq Saddam Hussein, in custody in Baghdad.

Mr. Saddam Hussein’s army invaded Kuwait on August 2, 1990. Then the Persian Gulf War erupted. The war had a significant influence on Mr. Usāma bin Lādin.

As if inevitably due to his career and religion, Mr. Usāma bin Lādin at last ordered attacks on New York and Washington D.C. using commercial jet planes in September 2001.

And, the rest of the history up to now is well known.

Mr. Saddam Hussein’s decision in August 1990 to invade Kuwait, after the lengthy Iraqi-Iranian War, triggered this chain reaction of international incidents eventually leading to the current, extraordinary hike of oil prices.

Mr. Saddam Hussein’s military adventure took a form of solving a territorial dispute with an underlying issue of oil (fields).

Did the issue of oil and money it generates really mangle his judgment on international situations?

Why, how, and when did then president of Iraq Saddam Hussein reach the conclusion, at the deepest level of mind, that his government had to absorb the neighboring country by force are really interesting. And everybody under any influence of the Gulf War, subsequent terror attacks and the War on Terror including the Iraq War, and higher oil prices had better be interested in them.

It is said that oil reserves will be depleted in 50 years; natural gas in 65 years; uranium in 70 years, coal in 250 years, and plutonium available for fuel in fast breeder reactors in 4500 years.

Although they say that they will complete preparation of a nuclear fusion reactor for commercial power generation around 2050, it is very doubtful.

What’s more, we still need crude oils not only as natural resources for power generation but also as materials for production of goods.

Lower the level of our living standard to one tenth of the current one, and we may buy time, for example 500 years, for our children’s descendants to cope with the fate.
