Samurai's Daughter
Until the 1870s, Japan had been a feudal society in which farmers accounted for 85 percent of the population and samurai for seven percent.
Tokyo meaning the east capital (then called Edo meaning an entrace to the sea) had a million population among which samurai accounted for 50 percent, since it was the capital of the Tokugawa samurai regime (called Bakuhu), and every samurai feudal lord all over Japan was obliged to have an official residence in Edo in addition to the one in a castle in their own feud or territory called Han.
Samurai can be easily known from farmers, merchants, and craftsmen, for they wear garments particular about formalities as well as a pair of swords, a large and a small one, or outwardly a long and a short one.
+ + +
Once a samurai took his son and his daughter, in ages of schoolchildren in the lower grades of today, to an exhibition of a tiger. Though tigers had never made their habitats in Japan, the animal was always popular among Japanese, since it actually lived in the Korean Peninsula and it was the strongest kind of animals in North East Asia.
The samurai found that his little daughter was not frightened by the tiger exhibited alive for that certain occasion.
So, he decided to give her a dirk or a dagger, or a very small knife that could be hidden even in the hilt of a large sword.
Usually, when a woman of a samurai clan was given a dirk, it was meant that she should use it not only in fight but also for committing a suicide to protect the honor of herself and her family.
But, the samurai did not tell anything about such a samurai code; he just simply said to her, "As you are a strong girl, you could keep it."
Later when she got old, and the samurai era had gone through a civil war and modernization of Japan had begun, she recalled the memory and just wondered what her father, who had also served his lord as a scholar, had thought of when he had given her the dirk.
+ + +
If you have a strong soldier, you could trust him with a mighty weapon. But, applying the paradigm to a girl at a playful age of today is unthinkable.
Anyway, the more you are given, the more you are requested of.
Yes, the stronger you are, the stronger companion you might need in case.
+ + +
The glorious Meiji Restoration, crowned with the victory of the Japanese-Russo War, has been left behind in history so far away from the Japanese of today.
Then, the materially simple but culturally deep and abundant Samurai Era has been left further away from today's Japanese.
Yet, in the age of globalization, some people might love to hear this kind of report on the samurai era.

The 50,000 Honorable Dead and Injured on the Iwojima in July 1944
The 50,000 Honorable Dead and Injured on the Iwojima in July 1944
When they released that absurd movie "Pearl Harbor" in the summer of 2001 despite the February's tragedy of the Ehimemaru, a Japanese fisheries high-school's training ship that was sunk near Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, by a USS submarine with guests from Texas on board, no one remembered the passage of the book “Moby Dick” written by Herman Melville just before the Civil War:
"Grand Contested Election for the Presidency of the United States",
"WHALING VOYAGE BY ONE ISHMAEL",
"BLOODY BATTLE IN AFFGHANISTAN",
which should be read as:
"In 2000, Grand Contested Election for the Presidency of the United States",
"In early 2001, WAILING VOYAGE BY THE EHIMEMARU ",
"In late 2001, BLOODY BATTLE IN AFFGHANISTAN",
and no one could even catch a glimpse of a foretelling shadow of the tragedies at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
Now, they are releasing two new movies on the Iwojima island in the Pacific Ocean, while battles in Iraq and Afghanistan have been intensified.
+ + +
In July 1944, serious battles were fought on the Iwojima between the U.S. Navy and Imperial Japan's Army, which resulted in 28,686 dead and injured on the U.S. side and 20,129 dead and injured on the Imperial Japan's side.
+ + +
The picture presenting several U.S. marines trying to hoist a flag of the Stars and Stripes tied to a slender water pipe on a hill in a battle field of the Iwojima (literally meaning an island of sulfur) was well known as a symbolic figure of U.S. patriotic spirit.
+ + +
I am highly concerned with the series of the Iwojima films now being released in the U.S. and Japan.
They might be telling something to us as a kind of oracles.
However, there are too many that are dying in Iraq and thus cannot enjoy the movies.
+ + +
The Pacific stage of WWII began after negotiations had failed between the Empire of Japan and the U.S.
Are they carrying negotiations in Iraq and Afghanistan? If not, they should start it and make it successful.
Just a success in negotiations could have parties avoid war at very low costs.
They may further avoid terror and war on terror.
For example, if you today pass by a Shiite Muslim or a Sunni Muslim on a street of New York City, you would not even mind it, though if you pass by an Imperial Japan's soldier from the Iwojima, a thing might be different.

90% of World LCD Panel Market
90% of World LCD Panel Market
Taiwan and Korean makers combined account for 90 percent of the world market share for LCD panels as of the first quarter of FY 2006.
Their remarkable success in this industry is mainly due to lower prices of their products.
+ + +
Everybody in the U.S. and Europe is using a PC, a cellular phone, and a flat panel TV, but almost nobody therein is manufacturing liquid crystal display panels (LCD) used in these devices.
Everybody in Africa, the Middle East, and Central/South Americas is using a PC, a cellular phone, and a flat panel TV, but almost nobody therein is manufacturing liquid crystal display panels (LCD) used in these devices.
It seems not to be sound, though it is one example of globalization of the world economy.
+ + +
Taiwan and South Korea had been once occupied by, and under administrative control of, the Empire of Japan for decades before the end of WWII.
Look at those other countries once colonized by the U.S. and European powers, then you might find that such an accusation as the Empire of Japan had done nothing good to their subordinate regions is wrong.
Even North Korea was some 30 years ago enjoying GDP larger than, or equal to, South Korea's then.
+ + +
I really wish countries such as North Korea would abandon their nuclear-weapon development programs.
It is not nuclear bombs that they should produce but is LCD panels.
Japanese makers that once transferred their technologies to those in Taiwan and South Korea are also competing trying to offer products with higher quality and value embedded.
+ + +
The United Nations should also pass a resolution and a declaration that every poor country shall have a right to have an LCD panel industry supported by its rich member countries.
If they cannot deal with LCD panels, they really cannot deal with nuclear bombs.
Therefore, you should encourage them to choose this right direction and extend whatever small step toward it.
I will say it again, "Nuclear bombs or LCD panels?"

Playing with Nuclear Bombs
Playing with Nuclear Bombs
Some still lack basic information, though they are very much interested in success or failure in North Korea's nuclear bomb test.
North Korea has the largest iron mine in East Asia.
North Korea has the largest cupper mine deposit in Asia.
North Korea has uranium mines.
Japan has receivable worth US$ 800 million yet to be recovered from North Korea.
+ + +
If North Korea conducts a nuclear test, it is not to be conducted under a desert like the one in the U.S., India, or Pakistan.
It would be probably conducted deep in an old but very huge mine.
They will never conduct it on the surface of the Sea of Japan.
+ + +
What someone is doing stealthily or conspicuously I do not mind for his sake.
Or are you so coarse trying to play with someone playing with nuclear bombs?

Freedom of Press for World Ranking
Freedom of Press for World Ranking
I just can't believe.
I just can't believe this.
I just can't believe this information.
I just can't believe this information provided by a Japanese researcher.
I just can't believe this information provided by a Japanese researcher on freedom of press in each country of the world.
It is because Japan is ranked so low in terms of degree of freedom of press, though it is the number one among nonwhite or non-Christian countries.
Check if you can believe it or not by getting access to Economic and Social Dataranking at http://dataranking.com/English/go06-1.html.
+ + +
I heard that a female Russian journalist was killed in Moscow. It was well reported in Japan. And the Chechen war she reportedly had exhaustively covered has been also somehow well reported in Japan.
Anna Politkovskaya became one of 23 journalists killed in Russia between 1996 and 2005, which might tell why there is no data on Russia to be used for the ranking.
+ + +
Freedom of press is based on belief in the innate goodness of man.
Jesus Christ, however, says that none is good.
Minding His words might nonetheless make a man a little improved.

Nuclear Bomb Test in the Summer of 2008?
Nuclear Bomb Test in the Summer of 2008?
Many people say that North Korea failed in its first nuclear test.
Data, information, findings, and theories on the test seem to be far from being reached consensus on, so far.
One alarming thing is swift decision and action of the Japanese Government in taking punitive measures against North Korea.
One remarkable thing is the emphasis in the address by President George W. Bush on corporation of China being highly expected .
One thing to be especially noted is that China is to hold Summer Olympic Games in Beijin in 2008.
You should be also reminded of the next Secretary-General of the United Nations being a South Korean.
+ + +
If North Korea makes other nuclear bomb test in the summer of 2008, I wonder how the U.S., Japan, China, and South Korea should respond.
The matter should be properly addressed and orderly resolved now, not in 2008.
+ + +
North Korea is a far more autocratic state than Iraq under Saddam Hussein's regime.
Majority of its people are extremely poor and have no freedom, but are destined to be helplessly killed if a war erupts with or without nuclear weapons.
Under this circumstance, decision makers in the U.S., Japan, China, South Korea, and Russia would be held liable, if any failures in addressing the issue happen.
Therefore, if you are not involved in administrations of those governments responsible, you may be a little lucky.
+ + +
But, do you think that North Korea actually failed in its first nuclear test, luckily for us?
And why? It is because they are just fools?
Fools cannot maintain a nation for more than half a century amid the international powers including the U.S., Japan, Russia, and China.
There cannot be such a fool in this world, which is mankind.
If there is, it is a bigger shame on mankind than inability to correct North Korea.

Atomic Bomb Blasted by North Korea
Atomic Bomb Blasted by North Korea
A young scientist of the University of Tokyo, specializing in seismology, said the level of the nuclear bomb North Korea tried yesterday seems to be a Nagasaki Atomic-Bomb class.
The magnitude of an earthquake triggered by the nuclear test was reportedly about 4.9 as observed at a certain location in Japan, though it was about 3.6 in South Korea.
There are still many arguments and speculations about the size of the bomb and its conclusion, namely, even whether it was successful or not.
+ + +
Everybody wants to get big money.
No one wants to die before getting rich and richer.
So, no one in the U.S. is interested in nuclear bombs which would eventually turn to be a fatal means, if used for making money in whatever mean, to all involved.
But, North Korea is different.
+ + +
My appeal is that the U.S. Government and the United Nations allocate a certain amount of budget for dealing with this problem.
With that amount observed by North Korea, they may get serious in considering a change in their strategy.
Failures of the U.S. and the U.N. in dealing with other problems have really cost billions of dollars while sacrificing so many innocent lives.
+ + +
Too many have been killed since September 11, 2001.
It is time to consider saving lives in ongoing and potential war zones including Iraq, Afghanistan, and North Korea.
+ + +
I did not feel a tremor the nuclear test in North Korea caused yesterday.
But, I saw someone who looked like an ancient messenger reborn scuttling and passing by me in the morning.
And, one of my electronic gears got out of tune, a happening very rare, that is perhaps once-a-decade thing.
Did you get any inkling at all on that?

The Longest Economic Expansion in Japan
The Longest Economic Expansion in Japan
The Japanese economy has been expanding to date since February 2002.
It is the longest upward business trend after WWII.
Indeed, more university graduates are receiving informal job offers than in previous years.
An increase in the number of those who commit suicide due to bankruptcy or get homeless seems to be also halted.
+ + +
The population of 120 million seems not to worry about anything serious for future of the world.
Nonetheless, I think it is time for the Japanese to worry about future of the world.
Just like Americans who should worry about how to complete or simply terminate the War on Terror, the Japanese should worry about how they can maintain and enhance this level of peace domestically and on the interface to the world.
Yet, I hope that you have logically and personally nothing to worry about.

South Korea vs. North Korea
South Korea vs. North Korea
Next U.N. Secretary General is expected be a South Korean.
Could North Korean leaders feel happy together with South Koreans?
North Korea's announcement that it plans to launch a nuclear bomb test seems to be telling their feeling.
+ + +
However, no matter how jealousy you might be, though such a feeling might be very common in politics, you should not resort to nuclear weapons.
+ + +
Japan will help North Korea get developed as much as South Korea is, so long as North Korea abandons its nuclear/missile development plans and its abominable policy to keep Japanese abductees still in its hand.
Japan will also support an idea to keep U.S. forces as far as possible from the border between China and North Korea, regardless of their future status, that is, unified Korea or coexistence of two Koreas.
+ + +
Both Koreas were last year against an idea that Japan takes up a seat of permanent members of the U.N. Security Council.
Such selfish antagonism could indeed result in very incongruous happenings.
As a matter of fact, when I loose goodness, I often make a selfish decision, too.

A Film on Afghanistan Needing Great Help
A Film on Afghanistan Needing Great Help
I saw the movie "At Five in the Afternoon," an Iranian film released in 2003, which depicts one poor family in Afghanistan.
I saw it today.
+ + +
Unbelievable mountains without tress and unthinkable fields without grass are really catching my eye.
A devastated and desolate palace on a barren hill surrounded by a sea of sand is, too, a wonder.
Old people who talk humane sense taking a slightly-monotonous poetic rhythm look so painful inwardly and outwardly, yet reflecting a deep social, traditional, cultural, and religious background
+ + +
U.S. helicopters were flying over a path on the barren land ; and the poor family, consisting of an old man, his daughter, her dying and eventually dead baby, and his dead son's wife as well as a tired horse and chickens, met a traveling older man whose donkey was dying and lying on the path.
The older man, himself collapsing, said, "My village was destroyed. Nothing was left. I want to get to Kandahar to see Mullah Omar. Bin Laden is our guest and a Muslim."
The chief of the poor family said, "You had better go back where you are from," digging a shallow pit on the ground with a big stone to burry his now-dead grandbaby.
The traveling old man sitting beside his dying donkey said, "My village was destroyed. Nothing was left. And nobody shows me the way."
While they were talking and the dead grandbaby was being laid down into a small, sandy grave, two young women were walking to a hill side where they could get the failed horse some water, as the old man told them to do so.
+ + +
The heroine of the story is the old man's daughter in law.
She attended a makeshift school in Kabul, while the family was wandering from place to place, and just wanted to change the world by becoming a politician.
She even asked a French soldier, patrolling around the ruined palace where the family happened to take shelter, how the president of France addressed to his people.
+ + +
Afghanistan had been a decent agricultural country since the Middle Age till the invasion by the Soviet Union in the late 20th century.
Decades of wars destroyed the entire country; but Islam has remained. People have been deprived of various hopes, but still have new dreams like the heroine has. Someday, a female president might be inaugurated in Afghanistan.
+ + +
If Afghanistan is saved, Iran then will be.
In fact, as some part of Iraq gets so dangerous, Iran may turn to a focal point of international security. But, so far, an Iranian film maker has set a focus on people not a war.
+ + +
On September 11, 2001, leaders of Al-Qaeda stationed in Afghanistan were waiting for a specific report on the United States to be attacked on the very day.
Since then, in the wake of various subsequent incidents, many, many people have been victimized.
But, I am one who has survived to this day just like you.
A film on Afghanistan has really reminded me of the grace the Lord has given me so that I can observe the proceeding of the world with a living mind.
But, for what?
And, for what for you?

Punishment for Popularity
Punishment for Popularity
Yesterday, a new cabinet was formed in Japan.
One remarkable aspect is that they intended to reinforce functions of aids to the prime minister.
Their purpose is to introduce a strong team of professional assistants to the prime minister office like the one in the White House.
My impression is that such a move seems to be aimed at gaining popularity among the people rather than truly enhancing functions of the Japanese Government.
Four of five aids to the prime minister, who have been newly appointed, are incumbent members of the Diet (parliament). They are more politicians than professionals. They might also work for gaining their own popularity.
+ + +
Democracy gives politicians and their party an incentive of using anything for enhancing their popularity and securing plurality voting.
A politician might even use a war for such a purpose.
It is truly an outrageous act if a war is so used.
+ + +
If you are a politician and are not involved in such movement for gaining popularity of a government through using something serious and critical like a war, you must be lucky, since such an act might be punished.
To begin with, what a politician needs is love for people but not popularity among the people their false love for people might gain.

New Prime Minister
New Prime Minister
Now, Japan's House of Representatives has nominated its new prime minister: Mr. Shinzo Abe.
Japan's Upper House is following suit.
After completion of the nomination by the Diet (Parliament), the emperor of Japan is to authorize it.
+ + +
The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) the new prime minister belongs to has support ratings of 38.2%, 30.0%, and 35.0% in previous three national elections, respectively.
Therefore LDP forms an alliance with New Komeito to form a government.
+ + +
One prime minister alone cannot surely make the nation great and successful, while Japan has 120 million population.
Japan's 68 million voters, who actually cast their vote in the previous general election held on September 11, 2005, have a key to future peace and prosperity of Japan, Asia, and the word.
+ + +
Astonishingly, there are no expressions directly concerned with democracy and election in Jesus Christ's words.
Relationship between mankind and God is not based on democracy supported by an election system.
The idea of democracy and an election system is however seems to be permitted by God or Allah.

Japanese Rocket Launches Sun-Probing Satellite
Japanese Rocket Launches Sun-Probing Satellite
BBC has reported on Japan's scientific satellite launching for studying the sun (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/5371162.stm).
The sun is a critical energy source of life on the earth.
But, though it happens in rare cases, the sun emits extraordinary energy to the surrounding space and eventually to the earth, which could destroy normal functioning of human-made electronic systems including artificial satellites flying around the earth.
If such an extraordinary phenomenon happens like it did in 1859, modern societies on the globe will suffer major damages.
+ + +
A type of rocket used to launch the Japan's sun-observation satellite is M5.
The M5 rockets have been launched seven times with one failure. This is its last mission, since Japan has already decided to stop using the M5 rockets due to high costs needed for launching it.
Apart from the M5, Japan has the flag-ship rocket H2A the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has already launched ten times and will continue to use.
The H2A rocket is 53-meter long and has a weight of 289 tons.
+ + +
The gigantic flares on the sun that emerged in 1859 really heralded the beginning of a new era poor slaves in the U.S. then might have truly wished.
It also became ominous for the feudal samurai regime in Japan, too.
When the sun emits an enormous amount of unusual electro-magnetic energy to the earth next time, we might know that a new era is inevitably coming.
+ + +
Japanese scientists like to study the sun.
The Japanese people like an image that the sun is rising from the east horizon, since their comparatively long and thin national land faces the Pacific Ocean eastward.
Therefore, it is natural that an image of the sun is adopted into their national flag.
When you see, in Japan, the sun coming up in the morning over the Pacific Ocean, it looks red, eradiating red arrows of light to all directions of surrounding air of the sky so blue and far; it does not look yellow or white at all.
Nothing is so inspiring as the rising sun in the morning for most Japanese.
+ + +
No matter how rich and powerful you might be on the earth, you cannot buy the sun.
And I remember the word of Buddha: "Fools are they who accumulate wealth and die."
Yes, everybody should die poor under the sun as he or she was so born under the sun.

Whether Jesus Christ is God or Not
Whether Jesus Christ is God or Not
I am not so interested in what the Pope thinks, says, and does.
As he claims that he is directly linked to Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ only would mind him.
If I mind the Pope, it might be regarded, I am afraid, as an irreverent behavior by angels.
+ + +
In Koran:
Verse 4:171 - "People of the Book, do not transgress the bounds of your religion. Speak nothing but the truth about Allah. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was no more than Allah's apostle and His Word which He cast to Mary: a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His apostles and do not say: "Three.' Forbear, and it shall be better for you. Allah is but one God. Allah forbid that He should have a son!"
As Islam has prevailed so long, so profoundly, and so vastly, God seems to surely support the above verse meaning Jesus Christ is not God.
+ + +
To discuss this matter is very difficult; and thus even when they really begin to act being motivated by this matter, as it is very difficult to explain a motivation of their act based on this matter, they seem to tend to use other excuse, for example, concerning politics or economics.
But, I think people should focus on this matter: Whether Jesus Christ is God or not for mankind, including Israelites, Christians, and Muslims.
+ + +
My assumption is that first of all we have to be humble admitting that Logic of God and Holy Truth are different from human logic and human-recognizable truth.
If we get more pious, the scope of our logic and recognizable truth would expand as far to the extent where we can comprehend the whole scheme of the question, "Is Jesus Christ God or not for mankind, including Israelites, Christians, and Muslims?"
+ + +
Will God, one day, appear on every TV screen all over the world and say, "I am also Jesus Christ and I, too, authorize the idea that Jesus Christ is not God"?
Or will God send another angel to us who do not mind whether Jesus Christ is God or not, and let the angel say to us that we may neglect the Bible and the Koran but we must obey Him?
I will obey Him.

The World Bank and Child Soldiers
The World Bank and Child Soldiers
It was reported in Japan that the World Bank has issued a report on child soldiers in the world.
There are some 300,000 soldiers under the age 18 who are now, or have until recently been, engaged in a battle, accounting for 10 percent of all the soldiers in battle fields.
In addition, there are 500,000 child soldiers being recruited in 50 countries all over the world.
They become soldiers due to poverty or coercion, or as a victim of abduction.
+ + +
According to The World Revolution (http://www.worldrevolution.org/), "because of their immaturity and lack of experience, child soldiers suffer higher casualties than their adult counterparts."
+ + +
If child soldiers are allowed to claim financial support for their education and rehabilitation costing, say, US$10,000 per capita, the world should raise 8 billion dollars.
The World Bank, consisting of International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and International Development Association (IDA), furnished anew in 2005 many countries for their development projects with funds of 13.6 billion dollars and similarly approved loans worth 8.7 billion dollars.
It seems very possible and reasonable that the World Bank rescues and helps those child soldiers with their financial capacity.
+ + +
If you are asked by an angel what the most deplorable issue is on the earth, you should answer that it is existence of child soldiers.
If I am, I would answer so.

Mystery of Blue Light Emitting Diode (LED) Solved
Mystery of Blue Light Emitting Diode (LED) Solved
Everyone apparently wants to use a DVD player for fun or any needs. A key technology in such an electronic device is a blue light emitting diode (LED).
The market size of the blue LEDs is expected to reach US$10 billion in 2008.
Though this LED was invented in a Japanese company, nobody including those involved in this development knew why the blue LED is possible until recently.
+ + +
The very small lamp, without a bubble and a filament, called an LED has been common in industry for decades due to development of the semiconductor technology.
But, not all types of color were possible with this man-made light emitter. The color of red, green, and so on could be easily realized and their basic theory was well understood. But, it has not been the case with the color blue, though even the blue LED was invented through serious efforts of those involved in this development in a Japanese company.
+ + +
The problem on the blue LED is that a material that emits the blue color has a million times as many structural defects inside as other material for any other color.
With such a great number of structural defects at a level of atoms, it has been thought to be impossible that such a material could emit any light at all; However, it does excellently providing a long-awaited blue light for human beings.
This mystery was recently solved by Japanese researchers.
The material Indium Gallium Nitride (InGaN) has a specific local and minuscule structure where holes, each carrying a positive charge, are effectively trapped so that their energy is converted to light instead of heat.
+ + +
There are two lessons to be learnt here:
First, a defect or a drawback sometimes hides a merit or an asset for a big success.
Secondly, a lucky man who succeeded without knowing why he made it can only find the underlying reason with a help from others so excellent and sympathetic.

Where Have All the Victims Gone?
Where Have All the Victims Gone?
Does war make some people rich?
Yes, it does.
Does war make some other people poor?
Yes, it does.
Is a war to protect a nation forbidden by God?
No, it is not; however, God ordered mankind not to kill other humans.
Where is this War on Terror going while making the rich richer and the poor poorer?
It is going to the 22nd century when no more crude oil production is expected and alternative high-technology-based energy may be only in hands of certain leading countries.

AK47 vs. M-16
AK47 vs. M-16
Last night, the Japanese Public TV station, NHK, presented a now-classic movie of Michael Moore, "Bowling for Columbine."
The night before, they broadcast the "Killing Field" featuring the Cambodian genocide that happened between 1975 and 1979 reportedly sacrificing almost 1.7 million people.
It was an era that nobody possessed a personal computer and a cellular phone as well as access to the Internet. However, they all used AK47 assault rifles just like today in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Palestine.
Mr. Moore was against fire-arm selling in the United States. Somebody should be really against AK47 automatic-rifle selling in the world.
+ + +
Children in the United States, in a very rare case, spontaneously kill their classmates with a handgun or a smart sub-machinegun. But, children in Cambodia 30 years ago, equipped with AK47s, were compulsively and daily killing their family members, neighbors, teachers, and spies of America and Vietnam or those so regarded.
Compared with this tragedy in Cambodia 30 years ago, put extremely, America and Al-Qaeda today look like classmates just on interim bad terms.
Indeed, 1.7 million innocent Cambodians who would rather love French and American culture were massacred by the Pol Pot faction strongly influenced by some Chinese communists in the era of the Cold War and the Great Cultural Revolution.
+ + +
Just before the U.S. invasion in 2003, Iraq was predicted to become another Vietnam of 1960's and early 70's.
Cambodia is near to China, Vietnam, and Thai. Various influences and arms could be easily brought to the country.
Iraq is surrounded by other Islamic nations and also near to Russia. Various influences and arms can be easily brought to the country.
+ + +
The U.S. failed in the Indochina Peninsula not because they fought the Vietnam War but because they supported the Pol Pot faction sharing fear and hatred of Vietnam.
Even the Japanese Government then, sharing interests with the U.S., officially recognized the Pol Pot regime!
(In 1993, the International Committee on the Reconstruction of Cambodia [ICORC] was held in Paris in which Japan acted as the chair and offered 20 million dollar aids.)
+ + +
The supreme leader of the Pol Pot faction died in 1998 reportedly of a disease. The scene was televised all over the world then, in which a Thai officer entering a humble cottage in a jungle got a fingerprint from the dead man, Pol Pot or correctly Saloth Sar who had parents of a Cambodian and a Chinese.
+ + +
Al Qaeda should stop using AK47s. They should learn a lesson from the Killing Filed and the death of Pol Pot eight years ago.
All the people living in the Persian Gulf region should stop using AK47s. They should learn a lesson from the Killing Filed and the death of Pol Pot eight years ago.
+ + +
I do not like the rifle AK47. It looks ominous. The shape of the rifle itself is almost ugly in my eyes.
I do not think Allah would be rejoiced to see his people equipped with such a pagan weapon.
+ + +
Yes, the M-16s were also common in Cambodia and Vietnam 30 years ago.
It is not very pleasant to observe that a U.S. soldier today in Iraq, equipped with a new version of M-16, still has to face a fatal danger just like the one in 30 years ago in Vietnam.

Vietnamese Saved a Japanese in New Orleans in 2005
Vietnamese Saved a Japanese in New Orleans in 2005
According to The Yomiuri Shimbun Newspaper, Vietnamese saved a Japanese young musician in New Orleans during the crisis the hurricane Katrina had caused.
The Japanese young man was then living in the southern city to make a career of music while learning the music unique to New Orleans.
In the turmoil of the hurricane disaster, he felt an acute danger in being alone at a shelter of a big dome where a mass of poor people were crammed.
Some evacuees were attacking others who were believed to have violated children. But when it was found that they got wrong men who were, by then, beaten almost to death, those evacuees claiming justice were not sorry at all for the innocent victims they had attacked.
The Japanese youth struggled to find any other Japanese, but in vain.
However, he could luckily spot a group of Vietnamese who kindly welcomed him into their circle.
Accordingly, the Japanese young man got safety and was later evacuated by helicopter.
He then returned to his hometown in Japan: a south-west city somehow showing a resemblance, in atmosphere, to New Orleans in his feeling.
Now, he is in New Orleans again to pursue his dream in music.
And he reportedly is happy again being surrounded by friendly people, though they are not necessarily Vietnamese.

Has Justice Been Done?
Has Justice Been Done?
Recently, in Saint Petersburg, Russia, the world largest wooden temple burnt down.
Just prior to this fire accident, a Japanese fisherman on board was shot dead by a Russian maritime security guard on a controversial sea area due to a border dispute between Japan and Russia.
Recently, in Georgia, the U.S., an ex-marine committed suicide after killing a female student.
In 1995, he violated a Japanese girl in Okinawa where he was stationed, which became a big social issue linked to the security partnership of Japan and the United States.
Has justice been done?
No matter what they might take, I have surely received these reports.

Courageous Lawyers Attacked, History Distorted, and Respect Lost in China and the Middle East
Courageous Lawyers Attacked, History Distorted, and Respect Lost in China and the Middle East
Popular revolts, though without much exchange of fire, are reportedly common in China, according to The Yomiuri Shimbun Newspaper.
Last year they had about 87,000 cases of riots mainly by farmers and local people in China.
There are, of course, some lawyers who help those insurgents, innocent, humble, and victimized by local, rotten authorities, even under the dictatorship of the Chinese Communist Party.
But some of those courageous lawyers have been arrested one after the other by Chinese law enforcement agencies.
However, nobody in the U.S., Europe, and Japan seems to take it seriously. Stable China under whatever regime seems to be welcomed by governments, businesses, and international bodies in those triple-pole advanced regions.
And, it is most likely that the incumbent regime in China would manage the nation, avoiding an upheaval or a civil war, according to their views.
However, I don't think it should be necessarily so.
+ + +
First of all, nobody in the U.S. and Europe has realized a critical issue about China.
China has distorted history, teaching it in its schools.
(For example, the Chinese Communist Party has only a history of just 60 years as the highest governing body of China, outside of which they cannot be a good teacher of history. Any 60-year-old regime should not handle its 4000-year history at its discretion.)
Second, nobody in the U.S. and Europe has realized an inevitable course of Chinese history: repeatedly experienced periods of ebb and flow of the power or dynasty.
Leaders as well as the people of contemporary China have all that kind of DNA.
Further, their official attitude to Japan is without decorum and propriety, which should alienate God's support for their development and success.
+ + +
If you like or dislike China, it cannot enjoy its present state without decades of supports and aids from Japan since normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China in early 1970's.
Without Japan's tremendous backups, Chinese youths now enjoying a nice living standard should be working today in a real sweat somewhere in a very local area as part of their mandatory service to the Party which should be in a state of quasi-war with the U.S., Russia, Viet Nam, and Japan.
+ + +
It is very dangerous to think that you can understand China while you cannot read Chinese characters or Japanese kanji letters.
And under the regime of the Chinese Communist Party, you can only get very-biased textbooks imported from China.
You had better learn Japanese in order to correctly learn Chinese works of art, history, literature, and social and business documents.
+ + +
Americans are buying, in a Wal-Mart shop, commodities made in China, because they have quality that can satisfy American consumers. But it is Japanese who have helped Chinese acquire ability to realize that level of industrial quality.
And quality of Japanese industrial products is rooted deep in the tradition of Japanese culture that began in an era of thousand years ago which called the Jomon period.
+ + +
Just like things now happening in the Middle East, if you forget respect to older culture of your own or others, nothing goes and works well.

Jerusalem or Sightseeing?
Jerusalem or Sightseeing?
[Updated in February 2012]
I heard that the warfare was stopped in the area between Israel and Lebanon.
What worried me is that majority of Israelis are reportedly still worried about Hezbollah's ability being left with considerable potential to attack Israel.
The United Nations should therefore send and station many troops from many countries to and at the area of warfare.
+ + +
Some 40 troops of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force have been stationed at the Golan Heights as part of the 1000-man U.N. Disengagement Observer Force since February 1996.
It is said that some troops heard bombshells being landed in nearby place during the warfare, though there are no casualties as they could well hide themselves in bombproof shelters.
+ + +
The solution is that countries in the world should join the peace keeping force under the authority of the United Nations.
And they send as many troops as possible to Palestine.
It means all the people in the world are coming to the Holy Land.
It is just like God is inviting all the people to Palestine where once Jesus Christ lived and traveled.
+ + +
Judaists were not safe living among Russians.
They were not safe living among Poles and Germans.
They are not yet safe among themselves in Palestine.
But, they have been safe in the United States among Americans who consist of people of various origins.
Therefore, Judaists can be safe among many nationalities in the U.N. PKF uniform in Palestine.
+ + +
Judaists should live in place where various people and tribes live for their safety and security.
Perhaps it is right unless they have heard a commandment of their God: "Return to Jerusalem!"
The issue is that if the Diaspora was the will of God and He has not changed His mind yet, Judaists' return to Jerusalem might not be safe at all.
+ + +
What is the will of God about Judaists, Palestine and the nation of Israel in the 21st century?
Has He ordered all the peoples in the world to let His people live in peace in Palestine?
Hasn't anybody heard His voice?
If we are all abandoned by God, it is no use of taking any measures to protect Israel.
+ + +
By the way, I still wonder why Jesus Christ did not mention anything about the Pyramids, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Dead Sea while He was preaching in Palestine 2000 years ago.
He only made mention of Jerusalem.
People should go to Jerusalem, but not to any sightseeing areas.
Do not go to any sightseeing areas.
You don not know? ; They have been just fighting in Palestine.

The Era of the B-29 to the Era of the F-15
The Era of the B-29 to the Era of the F-15
The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was one of key players in WWII and the Korean War.
This bomber is famous for its mission to carry out the Atomic Bomb (nuclear bomb) attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
It is said that about 4,000 B-29s were built in total.
Imperial Japan shot down about 500 B-29s during WWII.
North Korea and China shot down about 40 B-29s in the Korean War which happened five years after the end of WWII.
Theses statistics are said to have been taken seriously into strategic and defense considerations by the U.S. defense officials in those days.
* * *
There is even a legendry of super antiaircraft artilleries set up in a plot of Tokyo, which became a serious threat to B-29 air squadrons. After the surrender of Imperial Japan, the U.S. military dispatched an investigating team to the plot to check how the artilleries worked for precisely tracking and shooting a B-29 flying high over the plot at an altitude of 30,000 feet.
Though Japanese fighter planes then lacked performance needed to fight freely at an altitude of 30,000 feet, they developed special tactics, including a Kamikaze attack to a B-29 flying high in the air.
* * *
Now, Beirut is being bombed by F-15s and other types of air fighters and bombers of the Israeli Defense Force.
As with the case in Iraq and Afghanistan, when you have no capability to shoot down any of invading military planes of your enemy, it doesn't look like a war but a one-sided campaign by your enemy.
Otherwise, it looks like the war has been over, but they are still being engaged in some dubious business instead of starting a reconstruction effort.
For parties concerned to start a reconstruction effort after a war, they need at least a minimal level of mutual respect based on a respectable warrior spirit they exercised and acknowledged in the war.
* * *
Yesterday, in Hiroshima, Japan, people prayed for peace.
At the ceremony held on the same day when the tragedy occurred 61 years ago, Japanese Prime Minister and other participants, including foreigners from some 35 countries, fell silent in honor of victims.
* * *
Another news is about a son of a man who died sometime ago after having passed to his son a self-imposed duty of taking care of a hand-made stone memorial (in a Japanese gravestone style about three feet high) the man had built in order to appease the spirits of U.S. air soldiers who had been shot down and killed with their B-29 in Chiba Prefecture, near Tokyo, during WWII.
The existence of the humble memorial was kept secret for a long time since its building just after the incident in the war. The man's son has kept the service for the memorial as he was told.
But, now its existence is widely known through an accidental discovery of the memorial by herb collectors; this year, a U.S. colonel from the U.S. Embassy visited the site in a natural forest and paid his respects at the memorial to U.S. air force's veterans who never returned home.
In WWII, if a citizen of Imperial Japan had been found to have built a memorial for dead U.S. soldiers, he should have been arrested for an act which served the interests of the enemy.
* * *
There are more such hidden stories in terms of relationships between Japanese and Americans in WWII, which seem to have worked as a seed of friendly relationships between the two countries after WWII over the tragedy of the atomic bomb attacks.
I hope that there are any such hidden stories in terms of relationships between Israelites and Muslims in the current armed clash, which would work as a seed of friendly relationships between the two religious groups over any tragedy.

One Sinner to Repent
One Sinner to Repent
There is a husband and wife in Japan.
A wife complained that her husband said to her that he did not need her any more and they had to divorce.
She wrote to the agony-column of The Yomiuri Shimbun Newspaper: "My husband doesn't come home from his workshop where he works as a self-employed worker, though he provides me with enough living expenses. He is not associated with other women. But he said that he had been tired of me. I think I have to change myself, if necessary. And our son is going to take college entrance exam soon. I love my husband, but I don't know what to do. I want to live a happy life as before."
* * *
A man is sometimes haunted by something that is rather psychological, which however leads to misunderstanding, misbehavior, antagonism, a sense of shame or sin, or otherwise making himself a victim of a swindle or a gambit others set up.
In the worst case, he might be playing a part of a chain of machinations while believing that he is doing a right thing based on a sound judgment, which is actually opposite.
* * *
When Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton suggested that Secretary Donald Rumsfeld should resign, the Secretary did not hide his disappointment in a hearing of Congress.
Both are not Jewish, so far as I know.
But, when Israel is at war, it gives some special psychological effect on some people in Europe and the United States.
I am afraid that it might lead to misunderstanding, misbehavior, antagonism, a sense of shame or sin, or otherwise making himself or herself a victim of a swindle or a gambit others set up.
Doesn't a divorce rate grow up in the Western society whenever Israel is at war?
* * *
It is true that you should leave your family when you are called by God.
It should be extremely lucky if God says that you and your family leave your home and head for the land He promises.
* * *
If a couple contains every sin of the both within themselves forever in their own tie-up without divorce, society will become more decent and get more chances to develop. They alone have to be victims of each other.
It must apply even to neighboring countries, such as Israel and Lebanon which formed a single region in most of historical eras in the past.

Children in Lebanon Hit and Gone
Children in Lebanon Hit and Gone
We heard that many children were hit and gone in Lebanon.
If you heard that scores of children were killed on a single incident, you would think that criminals responsible should be cursed by God.
* * *
On March 12, 2003, a reporter for The International Herald Tribune wrote:
"A year ago Shimon Peres and senior Israeli Army intelligence officers estimated that the Hezbollah already had 8,000 of the rockets in their possession. Last week, they both raised that figure to 10,000." (http://www.iht.com/articles/2003/03/12/edlarry_ed3_.php)
If you take up 10,000 military rockets of your enemy at a procurement price of, say, US$10,000 for each, you simply need $100 million.
Israel spent 9 billion dollars for its defense.
Therefore, they only have to use 1.1 percent of their defense budget for eradicating the threat posed by 10,000 short/middle-distance rockets.
* * *
I do not think that God is pleased with Israelites in terms of this incident as He was 3500 years ago at Jericho, though Israelites have named their own missiles "Jericho."
If Israelites think that God is, I will be very much alerted.
If Israelites think that God is not, they had better be very much alerted.

A Hiroshima Story
A Hiroshima Story
When Hiroshima was attacked with an atomic bomb in the summer of 1945, a teenage school girl was saved by luck in a whole skin behind a concrete wall.
Though she felt sometimes a sick, her survival was a kind of miracles for someone having suffered an atomic bomb attack within a mile of its hypocenter.
In those days, as most of young men went into military service, school girls were mobilized to working in various social sectors.
The girl was rendering s service as a conductor of a tramcar of Hiroshima City.
One day before the atomic bomb attack, in a meeting of those girls working for tramcar systems, a male manager scolded some other girls for having picked and eaten peaches from trees in someone's orchard.
The girl in question, however, got envious of those illegal peach pickers, though she did not like to be reproved so hard. Food situations were indeed so bad at that time, while a rationing system was enforced.
Therefore, after the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima, she was very unhappy even for that reason alone, though she was wholly saved and very busy helping other victims of the huge, destructive bomb.
And, when the war ended on August 15, those girls working for tramcar systems gathered and decided to put an end to their lives as their beloved Empire was going to be ruined. However, as they saw a tramcar still running in the city of debris for its dear life, they changed their minds and decided to continue to help other victims.
Yet, she could not be unhappier in those days. Her mind became wild.
However, as an angel expected, one day in a refugee center, a wounded man gave her a peach.
She took it and enjoyed the taste, which in that instant healed her mind and heart.
Thereafter, she has been living a long and peaceful life even to this day, according to The Yomiuri Shimbun Newspaper.
* * *
Japan also recovered from devastation like the teenage school girl in Hiroshima in 1945.
But, after WWII, how God gave a peach to Japan is still unknown.
God kindly gives a peach to a good girl. All the more, He would probably give a peach to any war-torn countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Israel.
* * *
Anyway, take a peach once in a while in commemoration of a recovery of one sweet heart in Hiroshima in 1945.

Charlie Chaplin on Air
Charlie Chaplin on Air
The night before, I saw a Chaplin's movie aired by Japan's public TV station.
Also, last night, I saw another Chaplin's movie on the same channel.
Tonight, I might see other Chaplin's movie in the same broadcast time.
According to him, the silent movie is a kind of ballet shows.
Yes, Charles Chaplin is a cool entertainer, but not a hero himself of permanently unemployed persons on the street whom he played.
I am always amazed, whenever I saw his movie, at a stark difference in presence, not a simple visula appearance, between a hobo hero Chaplin played and other figures surrounding him except a girl he loved in a story.
* * *
For example, I can confirm how ordinary people in America, say, in 1918, looked like from his movie "Dog's Life." But, Chaplin in the film looks aloof from all the others and the time. Put extremely, it is as if an Asian comedian in 2006 were in a street of the U.S. in 1918.
His expressions are very universal rather than American, British, or Western at a fundamental level.
Such techniques could be only absorbed by having experienced a very poor life and a real human tragedy in one's youth.
Indeed, a very poor life and a real human tragedy in 2006 must be the same as those in 1918 in terms of effect on human spirit.
* * *
So, if somebody could show a stark difference in appearance or personality among many colleagues or peers, he or she should have learnt something deeply concerned with humanity somewhere beforehand.
Therefore, I am enjoying seeing him in a movie, wondering how he had succeeded in acquiring such a charm but failed in his life in extending what he had learnt to the real world to become another Mahatma Gandhi or a Martin Luther King Jr., if I may say.
* * *
I hope that someday a Chaplin in the 21st century, no matter if he is a Muslim or an Israelite in Palestine, will make such a film as those Charles Chaplin produced, according to the wish of the Supreme God.

Indeed, a very poor life and a real human tragedy in 2006 must be the same as those in 1918 in terms of effect on human spirit.

I hope that someday a Chaplin in the 21st century, no matter if he is a Muslim or an Israelite in Palestine, will make such a film as those Charles Chaplin produced, according to the wish of the Supreme God.

Women with a Gun in the U.S.
Women with a Gun in the U.S.
A Japanese woman put her impressions of an American novel in columns of a Japanese newspaper.
The novel was about daily lives of policewomen in the U.S.
The point of issue is that they shoot the suspected to death without hesitation even when they are off duty.
This feeling cannot arouse sympathy of Japanese female readers.
"American women with a gun are so quick to kill petty offenders!"
* * *
Of course, it is a result of long-term, horrible experiences of American policewomen, in my view.
But, Americans should be alerted to a kind of deterioration in their social environment.
It is also alarming that one in 35 citizens in the U.S. is a criminal or an ex-criminal.
* * *
To your astonishment, you cannot buy a handgun at any shops in Japan.
No family has a handgun technically in Japan.
Though it is yet to be the case in Japan, if everybody in a town has the same amount of money and assets in their pockets, none should carry a handgun with himself / herself on the street for any purposes.
* * *
It may also be an issue of a kind of psychological syndromes.
What they need is courage to seek a right solution, love for neighbors, even though those policewomen still have a right and duty to be armed with a handgun.

Nazareth Attacked
Nazareth Attacked
I heard a rumor that Hezbollah's rockets hit the town Nazareth, killing tow boys, brothers, of a Muslim family.
(Refer to http://www.examiner.com/a-183199~2_Young_Boys_Killed_by_Missile_in_Nazareth.html.)
I am afraid that it foretells the future of Palestine and the surrounding regions.
I mean that I cannot believe that Jesus Christ would not present anything serious and significant to mankind on this occasion of armed clash in his birth place as a member of mankind.
* * *
The last year's G8 meeting in the U.K. was synchronized by terrorist attacks in London.
This year, we have had North Korea's missile launchings, Mumbai trains bombings, and battles between Israel and Hezbollah, in addition to another tsunami disaster in Indonesia, the largest Islamic nation in the world.
Indeed, I did not expect that Japanese Prime Minister would run through all these incidents so closely in this period.
Did God use him to have people focus on Palestine as the Japanese prime minister made a state visit to Israel which had been postponed since former prime minister of Israel had been taken with serious illness?
If so, you had better anyhow check the Bible and al-Quran, in addition to some reports from Japan.

Bread and Soccer since the Roman Empire Fighting in Gallia
Bread and Soccer since the Roman Empire Fighting in Gallia
The World Cup Soccer Games were over as one billion audiences were reportedly watching.
However, sport-loving children in the world might be highly confused watching the struggle between a French player and an Italian player.
As I had felt beforehand something wrong in this World Cup Games 2006, I did not expect even the Japanese team to leave any monument on this occasion, while waiting for a kind of revelation from Heaven.
Japan lost to Brazil; Brazil lost to France; and France finally lost to Italy. And Italy has been suffering from frauds and degeneracy in its soccer sector and related business.
No one was a true hero or winner. Every team should be regarded as failed.
That is why God had beforehand guided me to avoiding holding any positive and joyful expectation in the World Cup Soccer Games 2006.
* * *
But, I was impressed by African French players, rather many in numbers, running after, kicking, and heading the ball so dynamically.
Italian players might still carry DNAs of ancient Roman Empire soldiers as they showed effective defense formation in front of the goal.
Truly, the Roman Empire conquered enemies in the north (of the Alps) and the south (of the Mediterranean).
However, the Empire resolved itself due to Christianity that eroded the wild-spiritual basement of the Empire and guided the people into peaceful mode of living.
* * *
So, you had better teach children that ancient people in the north and the south of the Roman Empire were fighting that way against Roman soldiers.
Therefore, be a believer before becoming a soccer hero in your school or community.
* * *
I hope that the World Cup Soccer Games Extra 2007 will be held in Iraq or Afghanistan to raise money for supporting victims and their families.
In that case, I will a hundred percent want the Japanese "samurai" team to work on matches.

Heading for 4000-Year Glory
Heading for 4000-Year Glory
At last, Japanese Prime Minister is going to visit Israel and Palestine prior to joining the G8 meeting to be held in Russia.
The latitudes on which Palestine is located are almost the same as those of the southern part of the Japan's main island (called Honsyu).
People look up at the sky and stars at identical angles in both the holy regions.
* * *
An unbelievable fact about modern Palestine is that Muslims did not help Israelites establish their own country in Palestine after WWII in which millions of Israelites were killed by Christians due to the lack of a country of their own.
As Israelites and Muslims, in addition to Christians, share the same tradition as successors of Abraham in terms of faith, it is very unbelievable that Israelites could not get support and compassion from Muslims enough to reestablish their own country in their promised land so as to avoid future persecution by Christians.
* * *
If 4000 years ago an old man originally called Abram had not left a certain distinguished city in a region presently called southern Iraq following an order by God and heading westward, no Israelites should have been established as a tribe; no Christians might have ever appeared; and no Islam should have been given to mankind.
* * *
This is my fundamental idea about the three great religions an ancient Mesopotamian (or Sumerian) initiated.
I hope that you would also join me in this perception.

Appealing to Japan with Seven Missiles So Launched
Appealing to Japan with Seven Missiles So Launched
As I had warned, North Korea fired some missiles, actually, to certain areas of the Sea of Japan along Russian coast lines.
And now, people are talking about brinkmanship-addicted North Korea, embarrassed China, cautious Russia, betrayed South Korea, and peace-addicted Japan.
However, so long as none of those missiles, reportedly test-fired, does not fly over Japanese islands to the North Pacific or the Bering Sea near Alaska, there is nothing to worry about seriously, though North Korea is believed to have some nucleus bombs.
North Korea has no options ultimately but to get great support from Japan.
They fired some missiles, as if they had been urging Japan to do something to help and rescue them.
* * *
But, it might be interesting for some people to confirm the following facts that happened around July 5 in the East Asian time zone:
- Japanese Prime Minister returned home from his state visit to the U.S.
- The U.S. was celebrating the Independence Day.
- The Space Shuttle was about to be launched.
- The USS aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk was in port at a Japanese northern port city facing the Sea of Japan.
- The flag ship of the US Navy's seventh fleet was in port at a Russian port city facing the Sea of Japan.
- The North Korea diplomat branch was busy dealing with Japanese reporters invited to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, to give some information on an abducted Japanese who has been the focus of the social interest in Japan.
- Leaders of the largest opposition party in Japan were on a visit to China to meet Chinese leaders, including Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party.
- The G8 summit meeting in Russia is getting near, according to schedule.
* * *
If North Korea launched a missile, namely Taepodon 2 or 3, capable of carrying a nucleus warhead over the Japanese land to the U.S. maritime border with an intention to display their military capability of hitting the U.S. soil, they would incur American attacks at least on their missile sites and nucleus facilities.
In that case, the U.S. would not just sit and wait for another 9/11 terror to happen sometime in future with nucleus missiles instead of passenger jet planes.
North Korea might like to appeal to other countries that hate the U.S. for possible sales of missiles capable of hitting the U.S. mainland
However, under such conditions and through overt anti-American dealings, it is very unlikely that any countries would purchase such ballistic missiles, which might be used as an excuse of attacks on them by the U.S.
* * *
Nonetheless, North Korea seems to like to have a missile capable of reaching the American Continent, but they think they have to do so without giving a sense of imminent threat to the world and also without having the world get concerned much about possible nucleus warheads.
Yet, it may be for possible sales of those missiles in addition to getting in the inside track in negotiations with the U.S.
* * *
But my feeling is that some leaders of North Korea, including or excluding their supreme leader, had planned the test firing of the seven missiles at this time, aiming at appealing to Japan.
They might highly expect Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to make the third visit to Pyongyang to resume diplomatic sessions between the two countries for normalizing their relationships.
Of course, there are still many obstacles for Japan to take up the diplomatic channel into North Korea, such as Japanese abducted by and still kept in North Korea.
* * *
Again, in future, I hope that North Korea will become a friendly nation to Japan so as to become another Swiss between its old allies, China and Russia, and the U.S. force-dominant South Korea.
But, before that, all nations must be judged by the God Almighty.

70% of Modern Chinese Terminologies Are Japanese Originally
70% of Modern Chinese Terminologies Are Japanese Originally
A Japanese scholar visited Beijing University in 1973, that is, at the peak of the Cultural Revolution, and had a talk with professors and students.
A Chinese student said, "Though Chinese characters were invented in ancient China, modern Chinese academic terminologies were all imported from Japan, weren't they?"
It is true. Majority, namely about 70%, of modern Chinese terminologies related to natural science and social science were originally invented in Japan when Japan opened its door to the world late in the 19th century.
However, though they share the same writing expressions of those terminologies, pronounciation is very different between Japanese and Chinese, in addition to their grammar.
* * *
When Japanese began to absorb Western Civilization, they encountered many unfamiliar or different-style concepts, such as Communism, Socialism, Economy, Freedom, and Market, though similar concepts had been in Japanese culture and society. Accordingly, Japanese invented a new expression to each of those new concepts.
In doing so, they first selected two or more conventional Kanji characters as elements related to a new concept. Then, by combining these Kanji characters in a very innovative way, Japanese invented many modern Japanese academic terminologies, each of which precisely matches a Western academic terminology.
* * *
As Japanese Kanji letters had been originally imported from China and thus almost identical with Chinese letters, Chinese scholars and leaders decades ago or more than a century ago decided to import those Japanese Kanji-based terminologies, since until the mid 20th century China had been in wars, civil wars, and great social turmoil without any room for stable basement and development of academic activities.
* * *
Modern Chinese terminologies related to natural science and social science are expressed in combination of two or more Chinese characters. But, those who first invented such combinations to mean modern concepts, which were imported from Europe and America, were Japanese, not Chinese, of almost 150 years ago.
China imported those terminologies expressed in Kanji letters from Japan, and they still continue to use them even under the regime of the Chinese Communist Party.
It is said almost 1000 terminologies were imported to China from Japan before WWII, WWI, and the Japanese-Russo War, which helped Chinese people develop modern science and culture.
Japan is the only country from which China imported such new words to use in its society as well as in daily lives and activities of the people to that extent.
* * *
Now many Americans are learning Chinese.
More advanced they are in their study in Chinese, more they will learn terminologies Japanese invented and Chinese imported in the Meiji Era, late in the 19th century.
It is not a secret between Japan and China. Most of Chinese scholars love to use those Japanese-Kanji-based terminologies which give them new insight about depth of Japanese Kanji letters or their own Chinese characters.
* * *
In other words, they are learning Japanese terminologies when foreigners are proudly learning Chinese.
Put extremely in favor of Japan, it is like they are actually using Japanese technologies, inventions, and funds, when foreigners are sometimes proudly using Chinese modern products, services, and systems.
* * *
Other important issue is that due to the great work of those Japanese in the Meiji Era, Japanese as well as Chinese have not had to learn English, French, Germany, Latin or any other foreign languages to master Western science and culture.
Every valuable Western work can be translated into Japanese as well as Chinese using those terminologies expressed in Kanji letters.
In this respect, Japan has been a very exceptional country.
It is why, for example, African leaders are often astonished at and perplexed by a fact that while no Japanese speak English or French well they have such advanced technologies and economy.
While only one percent of African population had a chance to read and understand Western science and technologies with learnt Western languages, 100 percent of the Japanese had basically a chance to master it in their own language.
* * *
Even without Japan in history, Chinese civilization might be well advanced until the late 19th century.
But, the whole world today must look very different.
The difference must be more significant than in case of no existence of New Continents, including the American Continent.
However, can you really imagine such a world of today?
The difference is only matched by that caused by assumed non-existence of the God-blessed Israelites for 4000 years of human history, in my view.

Palestine to Europe; North Korea to Japan
Palestine to Europe; North Korea to Japan
The picture of a frigate ship of the Israel navy off the coast of Gaza after having fired on people on the beach was very impressive.
Palestine may be the only place on the earth with full history of wars and current conflicts to that extent.
Palestine is also very near to Rome, Paris, and London. It is nearer than Tokyo is to Viet Nam, Cambodia, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
How can Europeans bear that?
* * *
On the other hand, the last Stalinist nation on the earth North Korea is very near to Japan.
Majority of the people of North Korea are poor, very poor, and extremely poor. In any village, probably, you cannot find any family who owns a color TV, a PC, a mobile phone, a car, and US$10,000 equivalent all together.
Nonetheless, their government is preparing a launch of a new type of rockets or missiles. It has reportedly a capability to hit Alaska.
They might not launch it, since Japan and other countries are all against it.
But, they might launch it setting the timing at Japan's Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's state visit to the U.S.
If they cannot launch the rocket, it would symbolize the beginning of the end of the regime in North Korea.
If they do, still it would incur difficult conditions that should take the regime to the last phase.
* * *
The issue here is whether the shelling from an Israel navy ship might lead to the end of glorious Palestine.
Once, namely 2000 years ago, assaults by Roman Empire's military put an end to holy Palestine crowned with appearance of the Son of God or Jesus Christ.
Israelites returned to Palestine after millions of victims over 2000 year history to establish glorious Palestine for them.
But, some kind of ending might or must be near to contemporary Palestine, as something being repeated over and over again in the human history.
* * *
There is a big difference between Japan and the Great Britain, though two island countries show some kind of symmetry in terms of geography and history.
But, Great Britain was once a colony of the Roman Empire. Japan has never been a colony of any Chinese dynasty.
Therefore, you had better listen to Japan on anything about Palestine. Japan can be cool in judging the situation there geographically and historically.
* * *
North Korea is the only country on the earth where a Japanese passport is void.
Japan should need a cool intermediary to normalize the relationship with the poor neighboring country that has nuclear bombs, like Israel, and long rage missiles being developed and further pursued under a Stalinist regime.
* * *
A "poor men's nucleus bomb" is a true nuclear bomb in the Far East.
And poor men's salvation might be the true salvation by the God in the Far East.

60 More Years to Master the Japanese Sword
60 More Years to Master the Japanese Sword
I have seen an unbelievable news report.
Two old Japanese craftsmen have been making Japanese scissors for over 60 years.
They are brothers, 80 years old or a little younger.
They burn iron bars and hit them with an iron hammer to form each part of a pair of scissors, mainly used for garment cutting.
They started this profession just after WWII, namely in 1945.
* * *
The technique is the same as the one employed for making a Japanese sword.
Traditionally Japanese used iron sands to make ironware. There are no large-scale iron mines except those including the mangetic iron ore in Japan.
What is worse, though we have had some coals, they are mostly deep under the ground. Therefore, until Japan introduced western technology late in the 19th century, it was not easy to make ironware, including the Japanese sword, from any types of iron sources.
However, it is well known that there are no swords or knives in the world that can match the Japanese sword in terms of quality and strength.
The nearest quality is only found in razors manufactured by German Solingen, though even Germans could not figure out another way to acheive the same quality as the Japanese sword.
* * *
Europeans have been historically lucky to have cokes that can provide necessary heat to melt iron. Iron needs heat at 1,800 degrees Celsius for melting. Cokes meets this condition. But, Japanese had to use charcoals that can provide heat at most at 1,200 degrees Celsius, though they chose a special type.
So, ancient Japanese invented special skills to make the high-quality of ironware through the use of charcoals, which requires the striking of iron with a hammer in very many times as well as water kept at a certain temperature for delicately contracting iron heated and hit well.
Each layer of a Japanese sword (usually consisting of three layers through a blade) includes a specific amount of carbon within iron to the best ratio, respectively.
It is not only material that makes the Japanese sword superb. The warp of a blade is also a key to makeing it especially edged and sharp. With this figure, the Japanese sword has sharpness that matches a safety razor.
* * *
In a certain test which was conducted in the U.S. and televised in Japan some time ago, they found that even a bullet fired from a heavy handgun was completely split in half when hitting the blade of a Japanese sword vertically positioned.
They needed several bullets fired from a heavy military machinegun to break the Japanese sword.
Peaceful nature of Japan's soil allowed for creation of the best and the strongest sword in the world, instaed of forcing the people to be poorly armed with, say, a hard but brittle knife.
* * *
Europe has had enough iron and coal mines that made it easier to make any ironware. But, Japanese had to take some time to establish a unique method to make ironware using iron sands and charcoals, which was accomplished in the sixth century.
(But, in this modern age, Japan has been one of top steel-making as well as iron-ore importing countries since its massive rebuilding of the nation's economy after WWII, while defeating the U.K. and other Western competitors and helping China and Korea luanch their own steel industry.)
* * *
If Europeans came to Japan, they could use neither iron ore nor cokes. And if Japanese visited Europe, they could not use iron sands and charcoals of a special type.
Either side cannot produce their best weapons in the foreign territory.
* * *
However, there are such ordinary people in Japan who have spent all of their professional lives, namely for 60 years, making Japanese scissors by hands with fire, water, and a hammer.
And they are respected and so televised.
But, we may need 60 more years to master how to use Japanese swords in Europe.
Then Japanese warriors, or samurai, might be well respected and so televised.

Chief Executive vs. Missionaries
Chief Executive vs. Missionaries
The issue is neither how to choose a leader nor whom to choose.
But, it is as to whether we have a mechanism to save the nation if we choose a wrong leader who might bring a disaster to the people.
You might choose Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin if you have a strong mechanism to stop him when he started to venture to kill an uncountable number of innocent people mainly in order to secure his assets and position or for wahtsoever reasons.
* * *
Vote for a leader, let him carry the nation, and forget about one's own duty to the nation is a very dangerous thing.
You had better try to change a leader as much as possible and as often as possible.
It is at most one year, I suppose, that anybody can do his best at the top of government. In the second year, he must be exhausted too much to carry out his duty if he has been working as he is supposed to be.
* * *
We cannot trust the media too much.
We cannot trust bureaucrats, financial circles, and lawmakers, either.
However, we need trustworthy missionaries by the roadside of society (but not in a church).
They must shout to the people that our leader is a Hitler or a Stalin, if necessary.
* * *
As the Diet session in Japan was over, now political focus is on who will succeed the incumbent prime minister, Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, this fall.
Whoever will accede to the highest post of the Japanese Government through democratic process, we had better prepare as many missionaries as possible who can be mobilized in case.
* * *
For people outside Japan, you had better regard future Japanese prime minister as a symbol of the Government.
It is also a Japanese tradition that a decisive power is in the hand of a top's surrogate's surrogate.
Of course, a poor man like me has to also act as his own surrogate's surrogate.

God's Anger on 9 Billion Dollars and 3.6 Billion Dollars (Endorsed by 10 Million Yen)
God's Anger on 9 Billion Dollars and 3.6 Billion Dollars (Endorsed by 10 Million Yen)
In the Wall Street, we know, they got a report on the governor of the Bank of Japan.
The governor supported Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami who quite actively helped Mr. Takafumi Horie get big money, nearly 9 billion dollars as aggregate market price, through very dubious stock-market transactions which also brought big profit to Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami's fund.
And, both Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami and Mr. Takafumi Horie were arrested this year.
The governor several years ago, when he was working outside the Bank of Japan, invested about 90,000 dollars (10 million yen) in Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami's fund. After he was appointed as the governor of the Bank of Japan, he still continued to entrust the money to the fund till this February.
Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami was manipulating 3.6 billion dollar fund till recently. His fund got many overseas clients, for example, from the U.S.
* * *
Now it is widely known that Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami, a former high-ranking bureaucrat of the Japanese Government, had a lot of eminent friends while actively operating his fund, including the governor of the Bank of Japan, some parliament members of Japan's Diet, and a certain tycoon in the financial sector.
Any American investors would trust Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami, if they are advised that his fund includes a private investment of the governor of the Bank of Japan who once served as an advisory-board member of the very fund.
* * *
As the Bank of Japan is the central bank of Japan, this news has attracted a great deal of attention even in the Wall Street.
But, the saddest part of this report is that Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami has never invented any creative financial instruments based on science and economics, just like Mr. Takafumi Horie did not invent any innovative technology and business in the IT sector, though they got big money personally in unit of 100 million dollars through transactions in the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
And, we are yet to see if the governor of the Bank of Japan has ever achieved something professionally innovative.
* * *
When the 9/11 general election was called last year, no Japanese dreamed of this sequence of incidents to happen soon.
At that time, Mr. Takafumi Horie war running for the election, while the media was praising Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami as a hero in a new era of Japan's financial sector.
But now, if you are a Japanese voter or taxpayer and informed that it is truly an expression of God's anger, you might find that it could be an only rationale for such fates of those super-rich people.
* * *
I do not recommend you to become super-rich.
If you are, make every effort not to be so, as I did very humbly on my part with the fear of God.

Successful Tracing of an Electron or Memory of Blue LED in Japan
Successful Tracing of an Electron or Memory of Blue LED in Japan
Everybody uses electricity that is a main feature of the contemporary civilization.
Without electricity, no TVs, no PCs, and no cellular phones are possible. You should live in an era before the Civil War, which might be not so bad for many.
But what is electricity? It is a flow of a tremendous number of electrons through a conductor such as a copper wire, which can be measured by ampere.
Then what is an electron? It is a very elemental particle far smaller than an atom. For example, one gram (0.03 ounces) of Gold consists of about 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (10**22) atoms of gold.
An electron is 100,000 times smaller than an atom.
Therefore, it is very difficult to monitor or measure a movement of a single electron. But, a Japanese research group has recently succeeded in doing so.
For the first time in human history, mankind can now measure movement of a single electron owing to hard and good work of a Japanese research group supported by NTT and other organizations.
* * *
Another famous work in this field of applied solid physics is an invention of a blue light-emitting diode (LED), a long-time dream of industry for it was so useful but looked so impossible.
The invention was carried out by a Japanese company, Nichia Corporation, in 1993. But, an employee of the company, Mr. Shuji Nakamura, claimed that the patent right of the blue LED belongs to him.
The dispute was settled through an appeal court that admitted a big contribution of Mr. Shuji Nakamura to the invention and ordered the company to pay a large amount of money to the former employee, which was actually observed.
However, Nichia Corporation renounced the related patent, which Mr. Shuji Nakamura focused on in his claim, because a technology based on the patent is no use for industrial production of blue LEDs. Hence, Mr. Shuji Nakamura's contribution to the company's revenue might become almost nil.
Mr. Shuji Nakamura, before a blue LED was invented, had been sent to a U.S. university for related study on the company's account; he also had been allowed to use a total of about five million dollar R&D expenses of the company for the blue LED development.
According to announcements and reports of Nichia Corporation, there are some other engineers and scientists within the company that had well cooperated with Mr. Shuji Nakamura in the blue LED project, and some of them had actually invented a very ingenious way of fabricating a related material for the blue LED which Mr. Shuji Nakamura could not find out on his own, though he was a leader of those engineers.
* * *
There are two important issues in these successful inventions. First, you alone cannot make a breakthrough invention nowadays in modern industrial and scientific environment where even your own unique idea is to the great extent based on, and supported by, various information and contribution from others.
Second, you alone should not claim a disproportional reward for your contribution, because such an eccentric behavior should destroy colleagues' moral fiber and thus damage future potential of sound development of an organization as well as an industrial society involving many citizens, voters, and tax payers.
* * *
Both the above two great engineering achievements were done in Japan.
But, if a brilliant Japanese engineer is in the U.S. pursuing such a big challenge, a kind of brokers concerned with such an extraordinarily promising technology might come to him as a friend who would convince him that he is a hero and not a mere employee or a slave of a company, and thus he should claim a big money as much as possible or, say, a billion dollars for an invention he was involved in as a leader.
Americans might not like such a story, but if individualism and freedom in the U.S. are most advanced in this world, then such a story would most likely happen in the U.S. before it occurs in any other countries including Japan.
* * *
For other peoples and Japanese, I would ask them to have a think about a fact that even one gram of Gold consists of about 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (10**22) atoms of gold.
One gold atom cannot make any sense to human beings as Gold.
No, it cannot, even if you can trace movement of an electron of one gold atom for a specific purpose, for example, to encourage many students and researchers to further study honestly and humbly with a true value sense in their work.

Heaven-Sent Constitution of Japan
Heaven-Sent Constitution of Japan
To some people interested in Japanese defense systems, the Japanese Constitution should be, apart from anything else, introduced:
THE CONSTITUTION OF JAPAN
CHAPTER II. RENUNCIATION OF WAR
Article 9.
Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes.
In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized.
* * *
That is why Japanese defense power is called the Self Defense Force instead of the army, the navy or the air force.
The Self Defense Force of Japan cannot be used for the purpose of a war against any foreign countries.
Nonetheless, U.S. military forces, stationed in Japan since the end of WWII in 1945, have logically no such restrictions, since they are not subject to the Constitution of Japan.
* * *
Japan has 63 nuclear power stations and 43 tons of plutonium that are enough to construct thousands of atomic bombs or nuclear bombs, though Japan complies fully with international treaties and conventions concerning peaceful use of the nuclear materials and accepts every inspection by IEA.
Japan is the third country in the history that succeeded in launching a satellite in geostationary orbit, following the U.S. and USSR. Japan is also the third country in the world in terms of the number of satellites so far launched, following the U.S. and Russia.
Japan has no intention to develop nuclear missiles.
* * *
Most of citizens in Japan are aware of, or at least feeling, this dangerous military potential of their country.
But, no Japanese believe that a time will come in future when their nation has to construct thousands of nuclear missiles.
* * *
Japan is surrounded by seas far from Europe and the Mid East. Even China has neither occupied nor conquered Japan since the beginning of history.
What's more, we have truly peace-loving people and the Constitution.
And, we have EEE-Reports, if you like.

Traveling Victim in Iraq from Japan
Traveling Victim in Iraq from Japan
Believe or not, God recently hinted me that something would be done to restore honor of a Japanese youth killed by an Al-Qaeda group in Iraq in 2004.
* * *
Specifically, the God recently gave me a report on a Japanese youth, Mr. Shosei Koda, who had been killed in Baghdad by members of a terrorist group associated with Al-Qaeda in October, 2004.
I was deeply impressed by the report in that he was depicted as a sincere inquirer, though so hastily interested in difficult political situations in the Middle East as to make light of danger waiting for him in Iraq. It was indeed just before the massive assault by the U.S. Army on Fallujah.
He had come to Iraq alone as a poor backpacker through Israel and Jordan after having learnt English in New Zealand.
He was killed, because Japan rejected a request by terrorists to withdraw its Self-Defense Force troops stationed in southern Iraq for humanitarian activities.
* * *
Then, that big news came in from Baghdad.
The leader of the group responsible for Mr. Shosei Koda's death was killed yesterday or so in a two U.S. F-16 fighter-planes attack.
A few months ago, an Arab youth who was more directly responsible for the death of Mr. Shosei Koda was also captured and televised, though being alive.
* * *
Mr. Shosei Koda is one of five Japanese victims who were killed by insurgents or terrorists in Iraq after the end of major combats in Iraq since 2003.
Two of the others were diplomats; and the last two were journalists.
Mr. Shosei Koda was officially categorized as a traveler in Japan.
* * *
Indeed, the news of the death of the Al-Qaeda leader in Iraq has been widely reported in Japan through the press and on TV.
However, what we should remember is the behavior and words of Mr. Shosei Koda in a video tape the terrorist group delivered to intimidate Japan in early November, 2004.
He said, "I am sorry, Koizumi-san. They said that they would kill me unless troops of the Japanese Self-Defense force were withdrawn. I want to come back to Japan alive."
Mr. Shosei Koda didn't cry, shout, or tremble while being surrounded by armed terrorists. He looked like trying to look well as much as he could.
Though I don't know exactly the reaction of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to this televised scene at that time, some Japanese must today reaffirm that Mr. Shosei Koda was not a coward at all by reviewing the tape delivered in 2004 in the wake of the recent big news of American Air Force's successful attack on the terrorist leader.
* * *
The War in Iraq may be memorized by some Japanese as a war with five victims as above mentioned.
But, we know nowadays tens of people are killed everyday in Iraq by bombs, bullets, and knives.
Japan may not be in a position to ask the God or Allah for any special consideration for Japanese victims, though not out of revenge or something like that.
The God Almighty has however responded.
"AGAINST ALL WHO DO NOT RESPECT ME"
Believe or not, God recently hinted me that something would be done to restore honor of a Japanese youth killed by an Al-Qaeda group in Iraq in 2004.

A few months ago, an Arab youth who was more directly responsible for the death of Mr. Shosei Koda was also captured and televised, though being alive.

The Poorer, The More Blessed by The God Almighty
We know what was behind the large-scale American white-collar crimes, such as the Enron and WorldCom incidents.
It is ordinary workers of those companies whose benefits were directly (or through stock options) linked to stcok prices of the companies they were working in and for.
If they believe that earning as much as possible as an individual in the economic society is a right thing, it is no wonder that they have felt no sense of guilty even after the massive exposure of those frauds.

In Japan, Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami, former notorious fund manager and president of a Japanese investment company, has been identified as a behind-the-scene figure for part of the Livedoor incidents that hit the world money market several months ago when Tokyo district public prosecutors launched investigation on the company.
Recently Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami purchased many stocks of a company that controls a professional baseball team.
It is a scheme similar to the one where then Livedoor president had tried to purchase a professional baseball team.
They seem to have collided with a certain, identical behind-the-scene figure.

Many foreign funds have invested in Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami's fund; but as Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami had quit his professional posts before arrest by Tokyo district prosecutors, he cannot be involved in money operation any more.

Devils can catch a boy and set a path for big money, telling him that he has such a brilliant mind set for getting big money; and the poor boy might feel happy.
I would like to find such a talent in myself earlier than devils, in order to avoid a servile position to them, with help from the God Almighty.
What about you?
