Now the United States is under heavy winter storms, according to news reports.

Indeed, mankind should fight the violent nature but not other races, people, or individuals.

Truly, before Christmas, we have to face and conquer the past storm of fires and irons.

What should be noted are the following parts:

"... 3. The Government of Japan will withdraw all military, naval, air and police forces from China and from Indochina. ... 

5. Both Governments will endeavor to obtain the agreement of the British and other governments to give up extraterritorial rights in China, including right in international settlements and in concessions and under the Boxer Protocol of 1901. 

... 7. The Government of the United States and the Government of Japan will, respectively, remove the freezing restrictions on Japanese funds in the United States and on American funds in Japan. ... "

On November 20, 1941, Nomura presented proposal B, which proposed that Japan stop further military action in return for 1 million gallons (3,800 m³) of aviation fuel from the United States. The United States was about to make a counter offer to this plan which included a monthly supply of fuel for civilian use. However, President Roosevelt received a leak of Japan's war plan and news that Japanese troop ships were on their way to Indochina. He decided the Japanese were not being sincere [citation needed] in their negotiations and instructed Secretary of State Cordell Hull to drop the counter-proposal. 

On November 26, 1941 Secretary Hull presented the Japanese ambassador with the 'Hull note', which as one of its conditions demanded the complete withdrawal of all Japanese troops from China. It did not specifically exempt Manchuria, in which hundreds of thousands of Japanese civilians were already living. Japanese prime minister Hideki Tojo said to his cabinet, "this is an ultimatum."

And decisively, Roosevelt even rejected an offer by Japanese Prime Minister Konoe for holding a summit meeting to avoid the war months before the Pearl Harbor attack conducted in early December 1941. As Konoe's proposal was rejected by Roosevert, nobleman Konoe had to resign.  Then, the Japanese Army took control of the Imperial Government.


Or from the beginning, the US was prepared for a possible war with the Empire of Japan after the Japanese-Russo War (1904-05) and the First World War.

War Plan Orange (commonly known as Plan Orange or just Orange) refers to a series of United States Joint Army and Navy Boardwar plans for dealing with a possible war with Japan during the years between the First and Second World Wars. 

Informal studies as early as 1906 covered a number of possibilities, from basing at Gibraltar or Singapore^[1] (an idea revived by the British before World War II)^[2] to "a quick trans-Atlantic dash" to the Pacific.^[3] The plan eventually adopted was conceived by Rear Admiral Raymond P. Rodgers in 1911.^[4]

(1) The U.S. citizens were not fully informed of determination of the U.S. Government to embark on a war against the Empire of Japan who was expected sooner or later to launch an attack on the U.S. bases in the Philippine on their route to oil fields in Indonesia before depletion of fuels in Imperial Navy due to the embargo on crude oil the U.S. had posed, so that the U.S. could send its troops to Europe to help the U.K. in the war with Germany having been in alliance with the Empire of Japan.

(2) The true reason for the shock to the U.S. Government on the attack at Pearl Harbor was not the fact that the Empire Japan started the war, but the discovery that the Empire of Japan with its aircraft carrier fleets and world-leading Zero fighter planes already had a military capability, at least technically, to destroy the whole U.S. Pacific fleets and thus their bases on the Pacific Ocean, though they had been neither truly built and deployed for the effective and concrete plan for a war against the U.S. nor supported by true mass-production industry and abundant resources.

(3) The Empire of Japan, before the receipt of the Hull Note, should have obtained information on Nazis' plan to kill 6 million Israelite Europeans. Accordingly it should have abolished the alliance with Germany, started withdrawal its troops from the Chinese mainland, and helped the United States defeat Nazis.

(4) Finally and amazingly, looking at peace, prosperity, and respect Japanese people have enjoyed in these 60 years after WWII, those killed during WWII seem not to have died for nothing at all.

[Very importantly, it was after WWII that crude oil fields in Saudi Arabia were developed, since it was just during WWII that the U.S. started its research and exploration of oil deposits in the Persian Gulf region.]

It might be apocalyptic for some of you, since it features an old man like Abraham, his follower on a donkey cart, and a nameless shepherd who gave a bowl of cool water to the old man on his quixotic campaign through a vast and bright-brown winter's dry field of the Iranian Plateau.

Indeed, the hero of the Iranian film is an impossible, very poor candidate for the Iranian President, though he is a concrete fact just like Abraham 4000 years ago.

3. My Favorite Country

I really think I am very lucky to be born in Japan.

I must not have been born in sinful Europe or North America; I must not have been born in terrible Africa and South Asia; I must not have been born in the Islamic world so demanding; and I must not have been born in China and other regions once fully or halfway colonized by Europeans.

Yes, I must have been and was surely born in Japan, the nation of Mt. Fuji and cherry blossoms and with a potential to honor and lead Asia and mankind.


4. My Favorite Party in Japan

Japanese politics has been dominated so far virtually by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), a tested and tried friend of the US Government.

Generally speaking, LDP's power base has been local people living in rural or rice-producing areas, or more roughly speaking, farmers and their direct descendants or neighbors but not modern city workers in Osaka, Nagoya, or Tokyo.

As LDP is so strongly linked with traditions, traditional values, and traditional human-relations, I suppose they can easily find attractive female candidates for election, since this is Japan.

On the other hand, the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) can embrace more venture-minded politicians, though the party includes old-fashioned conservatives and labor-union experts.

So, I cannot help but like to pay attentions to female LDP lawmakers as well as forward-looking DPJ lawmakers or independents for fairness.

However, critics in Japan like to use the terms such as politicians steeped in neo-liberal reform (for freer economy) or neo-conservatism (for traditional nationalism), or otherwise enemies of free economy or nationalism, especially in a case leftists if not opportunists.

But, my measure is related to how much a Japanese politician understands Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, or otherwise original Buddhism, even sacrificing their habitual practices related to free economy and nationalism or otherwise Western ideologies.

It is because it is more than 60 years after World War II, 140 years after the Meiji Restoration, and 400 years since the completion of the Edo Castle or the present Imperial Palace, and 800 years since the beginning of the first samurai regime in Kamakura.

And yet, the glorious party in the 21st century is to be so proven in both Japan and the U.S.


(That is why I do not blame you, if you run away from a holy mission, love three-starry cuisine in Paris or Tokyo, get associated with families of leaders of LDP, DPJ, US Republicans, or US Democrats, or otherwise run for election to defeat an incumbent prime minister like the case in Australia, even if you are not a member of a royal family or a friend of a prince of the Church in this worldly world.)

Yesterday, the BBC radio broadcasting on the Internet reported on calling of a Chinese naval ship at a Japanese port.

They are interested in how the two countries will develop their ties over the complicated and strangled memory of the past, since such a port call by a Chinese naval ship is the first since the establishment of the People's Republic of China.

Yet, I am interested in how many Chinese elites as well as poor Chinese are viewing this blog EEE Reporter.

A month ago or so, the Chinese Communist Party introduced new politburo standing committee members.

The China's supreme commanding team now includes two new rising figures: Mr. Li Keqiang (Ri-Koku-Kyou in Japanese pronunciation of the kanji letters) and Mr. Xi Jinping (Shu-Kin-Pei in Japanese).

Interestingly, Mr. Katusya Okada, one of leaders of the Democratic Party of Japan, wrote then in his blog that he has met Mr. Li Keqiang several times in this decade.

According to the Japanese Parliament member Mr. Okada, Mr. Li looks like growing to be a leader of larger caliber along with his promotion in the Chinese Communist Party.

But more interestingly, a certain Japanese scholar also showed his concern about the new two Chinese top leaders on his blog mainly discussing his concern with global warming and CO2.

He took note of the fact that Mr. Li Keqiang has an arts background (namely law, economics, philosophy, etc.) though other eight members of the politburo standing committee have a science background.

But, it is Mr. Xi Jinping that took more attention from the Japanese scholar, since the scholar and Mr. Xi seemed to share one memory, though without a direct link, on a certain prefecture of the Shaanxi Province of the Chinese mainland.

Mr. Xi, when he was a student, was ordered to go and work in a certain local village in the prefecture of the Province as part of the Rustication Movement or the Down to the Countryside Movement ("Ka-ho" in Japanese) which had been vehemently driven by Mao Tse-tung for the purpose of humbling elite youths in big cities and universities and thus making them obedient to the power, namely, Mao Tse-tung.

The Japanese scholar visited a village in the province on the Ocher Plateau in 2003 for his academic survey on reforestation policy in China. He however happened to meet an old farmer who happened to talk about a young man who had come to the village as part of Rustication Movement decades ago and thus suffered severe local life like all the other students all over China from late 1960's to early 1970's under the Rustication policy of the Party.

The old farmer said that the young man, nonetheless, had conquered the hardship and learnt agriculture and wisdom in the village to be an exemplary youth respected by everybody in the village.

But, the young man returned to Beijing as the political situation changed in the Chinese Communist Party; yet, people in the village heard nothing from him since.

The Japanese scholar wrote in his blog that he checked the precise location of the village Mr. Xi Jinping had worked hard decades ago to find that the village the scholar visited for research recently was different, since the prefecture the village belongs to has more than 300 villages.

It might be one of big surprises and mysteries in history for you, especially if learning in the U.S. or Europe or the Islamic world, that Japan and China would not tie up to encounter aggression and invasion by Western Powers, such as Russia and the U.K., to protect the glory of East Asia in the 19th century and the 20th century.

Therefore, the divine providence must have specified that China had to introduce a specific form of Judaism, namely Marxism, while Japan had to introduce a specific form of Christianity, namely an American style of Democracy, for each to develop and stabilize its society and civilization or become a true regional and global leader.

In this context, the God seems to be sterner to China and more benevolent to Japan, since China is conditioned to be anchored by a harsh and extreme political system, that is, Communism-based administration, for the cruel nature of its past history.

The Rustication Movement or the Down to the Countryside Movement is not a traditional Chinese concept, though it seems to have stringently trained Chinese youths of the era in the manner no Japanese or American politicians and elites have experienced except those who have been directly engaged in the Vietnam War or the Iraq/Afghan War or any other tough mission the God has posed.

("Any young elite should go to a local village to be sternly treated as a useless assistant to local farmers living in poor conditions. Then, they will appreciate the power that can give them a chance to live in a big city and study in a university to be the elite of the nation." This is however an aim of Mao Tse-tung.)

Now, Jesus Christ came down to the human world 2000 years ago as if He had ordered Himself to accept the holy rustication, probably due to a certain urgent condition, most probably such as the shadow of the Roman Empire decisively extending to Palestine at the time, namely 30 years after the era of Caesar and Cleopatra.

Accordingly, if you are ordered so by the God, you had better accept it, since it is a divine providence regardless of your present stage of activities for whatever purpose.

And, you may later become a fully tried and tested leader in your country, whether it is the U.S. or Japan.

The Japanese news agency JIJI has reported that some American politicians strongly associated with the Bush Administration were surprised by the arrest of Japan's former Vice Defense Minister Takemasa Moriya.

Every media in Japan is, of course, running after Mr. Takemasa Moriya and the Tokyo public prosecutors, interviewing Mr. Moriya at home by phone or obtaining comments from Ms. Yuriko Koike, the former Defense Minister who was strangely and severely attacked by politicians and critics when she tried to fire Mr. Moriya, for whatever reason, during her short term of office.

Every pundit and critic is also strongly focusing their argument on this once-a-decade detective incident.

But, Jesus Christ said not to blame others.

I hope that Mr. Takemasa Moriya and his wife will study the Bible in the Tokyo Detention Center so as to repent, yes, repent before God.

Rather I am interested in some comments and opinions recently expressed in the newspaper and on the Internet by Japanese critics on the meaning of independents as well as the two-party-system and the grand coalition.

First of all, as the movement toward democracy in Japan before 1945 had been insufficient due to the still dominant shadow of samurai's moral and political code of conduct, the God forced the Empire of Japan to lose the war against the U.S. in order for Japan to introduce Christian-based democracy from the United States of America after 1945.

So, I refer to some US opinions using Google without personal preference:

You have to always keep in mind that there have been African Americans, in these years after 1860, who account for more than 10% of the U.S. population.

With such a minority group having a more than 10% share, the two-party system seems to some extent work well, for they will be split into two: one party including most members of the minority group and another less supporting the minority group.

If you apply this way of thinking to Japanese politics, you may however discover an interesting theory on politics.

And, Jesus Christ indicated, in my view, that if a House of a nation is split, no devils can overwhelmingly and fatally exercise their evil power and influence.

1. O, Oh, Champs-Elysees
It is nice to see that they are now using low-powered LEDs to deck almost all the trees on the Champs-Elysees over 2 km of its span to Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

They say that those LEDs consume only 70% of electricity that would be needed when using ordinary small electric bulbs.

I do not have a dislike of the Champs-Elysees at all, since they use LEDs.

2. Solar Cells
Wikipedia introduced a solar cell or photovoltaic cell:
"Solar cells are manufactured in Germany, USA, Japan, China and Thailand. While technologies are constantly evolving toward higher efficiencies, those companies with large scale manufacturing technology for coating inexpensive substrates will be the lowest cost net electricity producers, even with cell efficiencies that are only in the 5–7% range."


But, in this June, Japan's Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. announced that it developed a solar cell product that can convert 22% of the energy absorbed from the sun rays into electric energy, which is the world highest conversion rate.

The new solar cell can also generate 10 to 50% more electricity per unit area than a conventional product. Sanyo will bring this product into market in 2010.

Japan's Sharp Corporation, as a maker of solar cells, shipped the largest amount of solar cells in the world even in 2006 just like in preceding six years.

Japan's Fuji Electric Systems has succeeded in developing a film type of flexible solar cells, as the world first, which can be applied to a curved surface of a wall or a vehicle.

The insufficient and biased description in Wikipedia on Japan's solar cell industry is just one example on how Americans are not fairly informed of Japan even today.


3. Ohm's Law
Wikipedia, of course, explains Ohm's Law, one of the greatest discovery of mankind:
"...the current passing through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference (i.e. voltage drop or voltage) across the two points..."

But, the German discoverer of the law, Georg Ohm, does not look like having been a happy scientist.

Although he discovered Ohm's Law in 1821, it was 1841 or so that his work was appreciated by scientific communities in France and England while Germans did not recognize importance of the formula, which might tell something deep about personality of Germans.

Anyway, his equation, V = IR, turned out to be a universal basic instrument for development of the science and society of mankind, since it can be extended to W = IV or H = IV, as I suggested in a previous report.

Caesar and other Roman generals and soldiers fought harshly against then Northern Europeans living in the north of the Alps.

First their enemy was Celts. Well organized Roman troops could at last demolish the core of the Celtic force so as to prevent the establishment and maintenance of a large Celtic empire in Europe, especially in the Great Britain.

Then Germanic races encountered Romans. The fight and battles became all the more severe as Romans troops could not at last fully conquer territories in the north of the Rhine River.

This history of wars still has a long-remained influence on each European tribe.

Anglo-Saxons, part of the ancient Germanic race, were lucky that they could avoid a fatal collision with Romans as they concentrated in defending stubbornly their own home territory near Denmark in current Germany and eventually moved to the Great Britain where Celts had no more overwhelming power due to past fierce wars against Romans.

But, the mainstream of the ancient Germanic race was more seriously damaged by Roman troops. Strong strikes by Romans on ancient Germans caused even their descendants to suffer the grave aftermath for a very long time at least until 1945.

That is why Germans called their kingdom Great Roman Empire from 962 to 1806. That is also why German people were completely duped by Adolf Hitler who appealed to Germans with a magic word "the Third Reich" while pretending to be a messiah for Germans.

In this context, French are more interesting.

Contemporary French people consist of descendants of Celts, Germanic tribes, and ancient Romans who invaded ancient France but remained there even after the collapse of the Roman Empire.

Even there is a theory that some ancient Israelites left Jerusalem to the Mediterranean region of France after the fall of Jerusalem in the first century.

That is why the sound of the French language is so difficult and sophisticated enough to alleviate the grave aftermath once inflicted by Caesar and other Roman troops.

But, the aftermath inflicted by the terror at the World Trade Center has not yet come to conclusion, since US troops are now at both the sides of Iran, namely Iraq and Afghanistan.

That is why I am telling you to elect somebody who can honestly study history and religion as President of the U.S. in 2008.

Also, the new President should be able to love the equation of "H = IV" and Japanese solar cells, hopefully.

They in a midnight TV news report said it would take two-year training to be qualified nowadays as a Santa Claus or a Saint Nicholas, a tutelary saint of girls and boys in Europe.

Jesus Christ said to be always alert to fake or bogus messiahs and prophets.

Indeed, once Adolf Hitler was regarded as a kind of Germanic messiahs and Saddam Hussein as a kind of warrior prophets.

Truly, I am not testing any Santa Claus but I like to offer the following as my gift to him.


1. Adolf Hitler
It was a big mistake that the Empire of Japan blindly trusted Hitler and his company before 1941, the year of the attack on Pearl Harbor as a manly war of military vs. military that is expected always to be on high alert over a wide ocean so as to avoid lightning strike from over the horizon.

It is especially so taking into consideration the fact that Germans helped Chinese troops illegally attack garrison troops of the Empire of Japan lawfully stationed around Shanghai, then an international prosperous city where the Empire of Japan had legitimate right to protect Japanese as well as Europeans and Americans, in 1930's before the Empire of Japan allied itself with Germany without knowing at all Hitler's insane plan to put an end to prosperity, peace, and survival of Israelite Europeans.

Hitler should have learnt history and religion more than Marxism. His only excuse for his dream of political power must have been justified, if he had decided to follow an emperor of the Roman Empire and thus fulfill duties to restore the traditions and glory of the ancient empire, ancient Christianity, and ancient Judaism, since Marxism is rooted in older Judaism unfortunately and partly through condensed hatred to super-rich and very rich Christians, namely capitalists.

I mean that Hitler should have advanced to Jerusalem.

He should have thought that Germanic peoples would be really glorified if he could have restored the ancient kingdom of Israelites where the Messiah emerged.

Then, as the leader of Germanic peoples, Adolf Hitler might have been praised as a real successor of emperors of the Roman Empire, since it would have meant that Hitler had given back to Israelites what a Roman Emperor unlawfully took away 1900 years ago after having killed Jesus the Messiah.

If Israelite Europeans had been all allowed to move to and live in Jerusalem under protection provided by German troops in 1930's, Hitler should have been praised so much, since he could have obtained 1000-year prosperity foundation in Europe, provided no fatal objection had been posed by Muslims there and then.

Now, German people, who were traditionally forced to live in a surrounded and framed area, without a direct exit to a vast ocean, seem to be happy enjoying a grand stage, called EU, for their vigorous activities, since they were defeated by the U.S. military in 1945.


2. Saddam Hussein
Like Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein also made a big mistake, as you know, to have provoked some Americans, though other Americans had provoked some radical Muslims including Mr. Osama bin Laden, too.

Saddam Hussein should have learnt more history and religion.

He should have tried hard to consolidate all Arab nations into one federation without relying on military forces.

He should have acted like a descendant of glorious Sumerian - Akkadian Civilization.

He as a descendant of the Civilization from which Abraham, the great ancestor of Arabs, had emerged should have talked to people in Mecca to recognize the glory of Sumerian/Akkadian Civilization and thus unite into one federation of Arab Muslims.

He must have a chance to take Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and other Arab Gulf nations into one federation, which should have rejoiced Allah and given a higher inspiration even to Arab radical youths who might have otherwise turned to be terrorists.

Saddam Hussein should have pondered relative merits between Islamic virtues, American democracy, and Arab-inherent stern culture since ancient days before the introduction of Islam but after the debacle and fall of the Sumerian/Akkadian Civilization.

But, now, the United States troops are working hard in a sense, no matter how many mistakes they are making on their side due to overpowering temptation of huge crude-oil reserves there, to diffuse democracy that has developed in the Christian world.

I have made a graph as below displayed based on data in "Official Energy Statistics from the U.S. Government."

My argument about global warming is that there is a possibility that its main factor is the accumulated effect of electric power generated by mankind and inevitably producing heat in these decades (in addition to heat caused by burning fuels, rather than simple increase in CO2 in the air).

It is just like you are using an electric heater in a closed room; and the heater never stops but increases its power for decades, though from a big glass window in the room some of generated heat can escape to the outside.

The electricity generator in the room may also produce heat while emitting CO2 and other gasses that can trap the heat so that the heat will not easily escape to the outside through the big window.

But, it must be heat itself, taking into account both the electric heater and electricity generation facilities, that is mainly raising the temperature in the room.

Put extremely, without such heat sources, the heat provided by sun rays to the room and the heat escaping through the window may be balanced over a wide range of increases in CO2 and other gasses caused by other elements except a heater and an electricity generator.

Put simply, the CO2 increase without being accompanied by any kinds of electric heaters and other heat sources on the ground may not be so threatening to mankind and global warming.

According to the theory of chaos, a butterfly in Beijing that swings its wings could cause a violent storm in the East Coast of the United States, if all the other factors are favorably fixed for the butterfly.

If the global climate follows the theory of chaos and a certain mathematical formulation, there is a chance that a butterfly in Beijing that swings its wings could cause a violent storm in the East Coast of the United States.

But, of course, it is still controversial that the global climate completely follows the Chaos Theory and a certain mathematical formulation, since nobody has ever specified such a tested and proved formulation that will probably include millions of variables, equations, and coefficients.

In addition, though it seems to be apparent that roughly speaking the global climate includes partly some effects of the Chaos Theory as one of factors, it is unlikely that a butterfly in Beijing is really dominating the weather in New York, since its swing can be simply nullified by that of another butterfly in New York in reality or virtually.

But, the increase of heat due to ever growing electric power generated by mankind cannot be countered by any other factors.

In any case, the increase in the electric power and heat generated by mankind in these decades, a sole huge swing of wings of an unseen gigantic butterfly, must be taken into consideration to the same extent as that of emission of CO2 and other gasses.

It is because if we continue to increase the amount of electric power being generated even without emission of greenhouse gases and being consumed in electric heaters, namely any kinds of electric goods, I suppose there is a strong possibility that the temperature of the earth will continue to rise, since it is tantamount of using an electric heater, even without a combustion-based electricity generator, in a room without any halt for decades regardless of emission of CO2.

There are still controversies on the cause of global warming: some solely point at CO2 and others cast doubt on CO2.

Even, some people wrongly interpret and apply the Chaos Theory to the global warming.

That is why I have presented this report: Forget about CO2, at least sometimes, and the Butterfly Effect but look at the figure showing increase in electric power generation, since it produces such heat as specified in the following well-known and basic formula of electricity:

H = I x I x R

H: heat
I: electric current
R: electric resistance

The four past mountainous empires, the Spanish Empire, the British Empire, and the Empire of Japan once all prided themselves on their mighty Navies and dauntless fleets on great oceans of each dominant Age.

Now, the United States of America with imperial power has dominated the global oceans.

Yet, as I once warned, a supply vessel and an escort vessel of the Maritime Defense Forces of Japan completed its time-limited mission on the Indian Ocean to feed fuels and water to naval ships of the U.S., Pakistan, and so on for free.

They returned to home ports in Japan recently, though former Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe had promised President George Bush to continue the mission, which unfortunately turned out to be one of significant burdens for the health of the then prime minister due to strong opposition from the opposition parties occupying a majority in the Upper House of the Japanese Parliament.

If incumbent Prime Minister Mr. Yasuo Fukuda succeeds to pass a low to resume the mission in the Indian Ocean, will Muslims in Pakistan and Afghanistan appreciate it?

Won't it be Japan's another commitment to the possible armed conflict between the U.S. and Iran, as the Indian Ocean is just off the coast of Iran?

US citizens as well as Muslims in Pakistan and Afghanistan should communicate their standpoints to the Japanese Government, since they are vessels of the Maritime Defense Forces of Japan.

Last Sunday, when I walked up stairs from the underground subway station in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, I happened to see a relay vehicle (which I just saw near the Tokyo National Stadium 30 minutes or so ago) a TV station used to track the Tokyo Women's Marathon Race on streets, though the race had been already over, as one of the above pictures shows.

The location of the exit or entrance to the subway station of the Oh-Edo Line at Minami ("south") Aoyama was just next to a Honda's car shop where they displayed mainly FIT cars.

And, Honda's FIT was awarded the Japanese Car of the Year Prize a few days ago.

Last night NHK's reporting program moderated by Ms. Hiroko Kuniya presented a Japanese female scientist who died this September.

The scientist, the late Ms. Katsuko Saruhashi, conducted in late 1950's "the first research showing how the effects of fallout can spread across the entire world, and not just affect the immediate area."

It was somehow very moving to see a Japanese lady who had been educated only in schools and higher education institutes in Japan but could achieve the result leading the world.

But, if we look back to the Japanese history and know that 50% of Japanese people (men 79%; women 21%; and samurai 100%) could read and write even before Japan's Westernization in the late 19th century and the literacy rates in Europe and North America in the 19th and 18th century were lower than Japan's (even farmers 20%), it may be not a big surprise.

In her blog, a Japanese woman reported on a report issued by the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva.

But, what took my attention on her blog was not such statistics.

She works in a security company; she loves works of literature created by Albert Camus; and she is interested in thoughts of John Maynard Keynes.

But, she also wrote that after three years of her writing blog she is now losing a confidence in continuing it.

3. A Japanese Girl in a Reformatory
A Japan's Nippon Television news program presented last night a Japanese teenager who is now forced to spend her time in a public correction facility.

Her parents got divorced, and she lived with her mother who got mentally sick to stop working, which forced the girl to work immediately after graduating from the junior high school.

The girl did not like her job and had a severe quarrel with her mother. She got associated with a bad man who left her later; and she got involved in illegal act to be eventually arrested by police.

But, now her mind and heart are being cured in the reformatory where her mother sometimes visits for reconciliation.

The above may be a routine sequence of my checking news and trends of the day through TV and the Internet.

Ms. Hiroko Kuniya is still on active service on TV; the Internet is serving me for good cause; even Nippon Television, an affiliate company of the controversially-managed Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper, is shifting its focus to social problems among ordinary or poor people.

But, it is a news program of the (once controversially-M&A-targeted) Fuji TV that has continued its focus on victims of a certain medication scandal who conducted a strike in front of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan, a moth ago.

Indeed, when other media neglected those victims sitting in a rainy night before the Ministry in Tokyo, they reported it even in the late night news program which usually completes my monitoring of the day.

Truly, this medication scandal aggravated by negligence by the Ministry is going to decide the fate of the incumbent ruling parties in the next general election, just like the movie "Sicko" directed by Mr. Michael Moore might have a decisive influence on the US Presidential Election, since even some Japanese politicians have praised in their blogs the film on hugely biased US health and medical systems.



(Now, Ms. Agnes Chan is reporting on poor people in India on an NHK satellite TV channel.

She, born in Hong Kong, has been popular in Japan as a celebrity in these 30 years.

That is why I am expecting a Japanese female reporter to report on poor people in Europe, the Islamic world, and the U.S.

In Japan, a few months ago, then Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe resigned at his own initiative despite expected accusation against his decision on the unthinkable timing which is against commonsense and a national political schedule.

Behind Mr. Shinzo Abe's decision, there was no strong and persistent pursuit by the Japanese mainstream media except one notable journalist Mr. Takashi Tachibana.

Mr. Takashi Tachibana publicly announced that he would fight against Mr. Shinzo Abe a year ago when Mr. Abe was elected prime minister, since Mr. Abe did not look like trustworthy and inspiring while keeping controversial association with super-rich people in various sectors.

Recently Mr. Takashi Tachibana interviewed a certain ex-prosecutor who is notorious for his hospitable service as a lawyer to gangsters or organized crime.

But, Mr. Tachibana's second concern may be more difficult to address, though you may be aware of a similar issue existent in the American society today, since the sub-prime loan problems are suggesting dubious association of related businesses with the Mafia and their friends.

Mr. Takashi Tachibana said in his interview with the ex-prosecutor who has been nowadays providing legal service to gangsters mainly in Osaka, "So, the Osaka area has been without doubt widely under covert influence of unlawful, dark forces, hasn't it?"

But, on last Sunday, voters of Osaka City, the center of West Japan, elected a candidate from the opposition party as their new mayor denying the incumbent mayor supported by the ruling parties, which must have a shattering influence on Prime Minister Mr. Yasuo Fukuda who is said to be measuring the best timing for next general election.

In the US Presidential Election, I think the involvement of the Mafia and their friends in the sub-prime loan problems should be also a decisive factor for voters to elect their next president.

The point at issue is that there are some people who are very skeptical even about such a scheme as Mr. Muhammad Yunus' Nobel-prized Grameen Bank designed to provide "credit to the poorest of the poor in rural Bangladesh without any collateral," since such people think the Nobel Prize itself does not deserve any credit.

Just ten minutes before she was running back to the Tokyo National Stadium as the front runner, I got into the stadium to observe her last lap for Beijing.

She was fast and robust, and her legs were strong, which could not be almost expected anybody who just ran 42km to exhibit in her last lap in the stadium.

If you compete with such a runner in such a condition, you will be severely damaged so long as you cannot compete until the last lap. It was the same kind of devastating strength Ms. Naoko Takahashi once exhibited.

Indeed, the best Japanese sportsmen or women may be very spiritual, since they are sons and daughters of the spiritual race Japanese.


2. Mr. Junichiro Kizumi
In this summer, a big bridge over the Mississippi River suddenly collapsed, giving a great warning to the US people.

Then, in September, a mighty bridge under construction jointly by Japanese constructors and local companies between the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam collapsed.

Mr. Junichiro Koizumi is still very popular among Japanese, though there will be no chances for him to be put back at the center stage of Japanese politics.

His bridge to come back to the Prime Minister Office seems to be also cut off.


3. Bangladesh
The BBC news program broadcast in Japan on an NHK's satellite TV channel today reported that a powerful cyclone has killed probably 10,000 people in Bangladesh.

The BBC on the Internet also wrote: "Another storm in 1991 left some 143,000 dead."

However, in 2006, Mr. Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank won the Nobel Peace Prize for their providing "credit to the poorest of the poor in rural Bangladesh without any collateral."

Israelites, Christians, and Muslims must be wiser and get humbler to see this deep care and consideration the God or Allah has offered and extended to South and East Asian people.

And, remember it was Ms. Mizuki Noguchi that won the Gold Medal in 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, though it was Ms. Naoko Takahashi that had won the Gold Medal in 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, since life resembles a marathon race.
