Japanese Religion and Global Warming
Though it is as if putting two and two together, do you remember the following figures I presented in this blog before?:
SECTION I: JAPANESE RELIGIOUS SENSE
Japanese spiritualism cannot be measured by any survey or statistic analysis.
But, we can check a result of such work, even if it shows only a superficial state of religion among Japanese people who have more profound spiritualism.
According to a survey conducted by The Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper this May in Japan, when asked as to whether one has a belief in any religion, 26.1% of Japanese respondents answered "Yes" and 71.9% "No" with other answers from 2.1%.
To a question whether a religion is essential to have a happy life, 38.6% of Japanese respondents answered "Yes," and 59.1% answered "No."
Yet, those who sometimes worship a Buddhist or Shinto alter at home accounted for 56.7% of all the respondents.
Those who occasionally visit a family grave (mostly in the Buddhist style) accounted for 78.3%.
Those who pay a new year’s visit to a shrine accounted for 73.1%.

Most interestingly, to the question as to what becomes of a person after the death, each specified answer got the following percentage of respondents:
a) To be born or reincarnated…29.8%
b) To go to another world…23.8%
c) To pass into nothingness…17.6%
d) To stay in the grave…9.9%
e) There exists no soul…9.0%
f) Others/Unknown…10.0%
In contrast, as you probably know, Americans who believe in existence of God account for 82% and who believe in existence of Heaven 75%, according to a certain survey in the U.S.
Put simply, without practicing Christianity or any religion, Japanese respect their ancestors and sometimes visit a family grave, which most of Christians do not, and a majority respect Buddhism or Shintoism, though the worldly success is mostly regarded as something not included in a religious sphere.
And, the hidden truth is that as Japanese observe Judaists, Christians, and Muslims all behaving less decently and more violently in the world than ordinary Japanese do, they do not trust in the power or effect of those religions.
Judaists, Christians, and Muslims look a kind of hypocrites to the eye of Japanese, since they do not honestly and truly observe the teachings of their saints.
It is neither a matter of contents of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam nor rituals and habits of Judaists, Christians, or Muslims, but its power and effect on people that matters for ordinary Japanese.
In short, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all teaching something ordinary people cannot master and comply with.
Japanese are not ignorant, but cool or decent enough to avoid becoming hypocritical Judaists, Christians, or Muslims.
Until every problem and crime in the Middle East, Europe, and America is eradicated, a majority of Japanese will not come to think about those religions for real.
That is why my advice to Israelis, Europeans/Americans, and Muslims is to regard Japanese you meet as someone who shares the same religion with you.
If you are a Buddhist, you must find in the above research that a majority of Japanese are still Buddhists if so nihilistic or skeptic.
SECTION II: CO2 CONSPIRACY
The global warming is a fact.
The CO2 has an effect on the global temperature rise is a fact.
But, you cannot identify CO2 as the only major cause for the global warning.
And, you cannot introduce a financial scheme for reducing emission of CO2, while the scheme will make some Europeans richer.
There is no authentic scientific proof that allows for identification of CO2 as the only major cause for the global warning.
The factors contributing to global warning are as follows:
1) Heat emitted from fossil fuels, including oil, coal, and natural gas, when burning them for electricity in power stations or in engines of vehicles.
2) Heat emitted from electric devices and equipment when using them by applying electricity generated in power stations using fossil fuels, nuclear power, or hydraulic power.
3) CO2 in the air absorbing and emitting specific energy of light from and to the ground.
4) A large scale destruction of the nature, such as forests, woods, and agricultural land.
5) Fine dusts, soot, and other particles emitted from factories, vehicles, and other human activities.
6) Change in activity of the sun, the only major energy source for the earth.
You must realize, in terms of the above item 2), that if mankind uses electricity generated only by wind-power energy which emits no CO2, the global temperature can continue to rise due to heat emitted from electric devices and appliances.
And, scientists must make clear the ratios of contribution by CO2 and the Sun to the temperature rise.
Today Europeans are directly linking the CO2 to their business, called trade of emission credit, so as to make big money.
But, mankind is requested to review the way of life in the modern and industrialized society, the devastating effect the material civilization has on the nature, and the globalized economy and competition leading to exploitation of poor people and the nature in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Put simply, it is the European Civilization and rich Europeans that have destructed the nature and environments in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to increase their wealth, leading to the global warming.
Nonetheless, those Europeans are now blaming only CO2 so as to make more money through CO2 emission credit transactions.
I think that the God will forgive CO2 but not those Europeans who are blaming CO2 without changing their lifestyle at all.
That is why I call it the CO2 Conspiracy.
In order to prevent global warming, rich Europeans must become poor and humble, or poorer and humbler than Africans.
SECTION III: BRAINWASHING
Mr. Katsuya Okada is expected to become Japanese Prime Minister in a decade or so. But since he came back from Germany recently, he looks like being brainwashed by Europeans to believe in unconditional reasonableness of the CO2 emission-right trading scheme.
It is not such a cosmetic measure based on limited scientific proof and theory, but an overall change in applying European Civilization to the whole world that is needed.
Such a politician had better feed crocodiles for foods, since the animal is said to be very eco-friendly, if he has a pond in his home.

Japan had to suppress its economic growth since 1990’s, so that its nature would not be damaged, harmed, soiled, or destructed by greedy industrial and commercial activities.
This is an act of religion, since the nature of Japan has fostered Japanese spiritualism.
Therefore, in order to stop the global warming, as the first step Europeans must suppress their economic activities including the CO2 trade.
For Europeans to understand the significance of this measure, they have to become more pious Christians.
In summary, it is not CO2 but ineffective Christianity that should be handled and disposed to save the nature and mankind from increasing temperature.
(Anyway, it’s raining now and a rain drop is coolly pellucid, though I really love a color blue up in the sky, above a city, or over a high and windy hill…
