Other Truth of Fukushima Daiichi (Vérité de Fukushima Daiichi autres accidents)

Following the occurrence of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident on and after March 11, 2011, several professors of top Japanese universities, such as the University of Tokyo, made many TV appearances to comment on the nuclear crisis, assuring that recovery of emergency power would soon fix the matter.

Yes, most of them denied a critical state of Fukushuima Daiichi. They overly appeased the fear of radiation people felt. They said that if power supply had been recovered, the situation would be drastically improved with effect of coolant circulation, though they secretly estimated at an early stage that a meltdown had already occurred. Some of those scientists even said, after the hydrogen explosion of the No.1 reactor unit in Fukushuima Daiichi, that the accident in Fukushuima Daiichi was not so serious as the Three Mile Nuclear Accident. Others assured that the Government was taking necessary measures one step ahead of changing situation. And, even today 85,000 Fukushima citizens have been forced to leave their hometowns to avoid higher levels of radiation without a concrete perspective given by the Government.

And, eventually it has been reported that those professors received total $10 million subsidies and reaserach expenses from TEPCO, other utuility companies, and various bodies of the Japanese nuclear industrial community in these five years. Those professors defended Tokyo Electric Power Company so much as they received various aid and support, including what is not revealed, from various related companies behind the scene, since TEPCO has $100 billion assets.

What is worse, it is also reported that TEPCO once purged a nuclear specialist group from its management core. In 2002, TEPCO was socially accused of its concealment effort when some accident occurred in one of its nuclear power plants. As the utility company was severely criticized by the Media, the company held nuclear experts inside the company responsible for the accident and drove them out of the core of its management. For example, an executive who had worked in the Fukushima Daiichi plant for 20 years as plant director was forced to step down. So, when the 3/11 Disaster triggered the Fukushima Daiichi accident this March, most of top corporate executives or board members of Tokyo Electric Power Company were from the sales or administrative fields but not from the nuclear engineering field.

Regarding critical information, the Japanese Government, namely the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, issued modified records (or estimation) about the state of Fukushima Daiichi on June 6 or so three months after the 3/11 Disaster. The Agency stated that the nuclear reactor unit No.1 probably started its meltdown around 8 p.m. on March 11, 10 hours earlier than an analysis result by TEPCO. The reactor unit No.2 also probably started meltdown around 10:50 p.m. on March 14, and the reactor unit No. 3 around 10:10 p.m. on March 14, which showed difference from the utility company’s analysis results by 29 hours (earlier) and 13 hours (later), respectively. To begin with, what is worse, it is two months after the incident of March 11 that TEPCO admitted that a meltdown occurred in a reactor unit in Fukushima Daiichi. For two months, commentators, scientists, and TV newscasters all discussed the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear incident without mentioning meltdown at all.

People concerned now suspect that the M9.0 earthquake actually broke the pressure reactor or its piping in the unit No.1 before the tsunami arrived. The early meltdown could not be caused only by stop of circulation of coolant, they estimate. Data and information TEPCO and even the Agency made public after several delays or subject to modification should be further verified.

So, the Fukhsima Daiichi nuclear accident also exposed an ugly side of the Japanese establishment. The rotten elite are everywhere, even in Japan.

Tonight a TV program of NHK introduced how people of Belarus are still taking care of the radiation problem the Chernobyl nuclear accident brought about 25 years ago. It also showed how families with children in Fukshima City are worried about the situation. They want to move into a safer city for their children's sake. Schools their children go and learn in are under an influence of radiation of more than one milli sieverts per year. But, parents are afraid of losing their jobs. They cannot simply move out of the city, since Fukushima City is not within 20 or 30 km of Fukshima Daiichi or not designated as a special evacuation zone. They cannot get compensation money.

Tokyo citizens are also victims of the Fukushima nuclear accident. As several nuclear reactors have been stopped due to the accident, electricity shortage has emerged as a big problem around Tokyo for this summer. As another TV station reported tonight, workers in Tokyo are under a threat of heat exhaustion due to limited power supply for air conditioners in office. In order to avoid sudden outage of power, the Japanese Government already issued an order to businesses that they have to reduce electricity consumption by 15% in this summer. The room temperature in office is highly recommended to be set at 28 Celsius degrees (82.4 F) with cooling equipment. Accordingly, the body temperature of some office workers in Tokyo rises to 38 degrees or so, according to the TV report.

Put simply, arrogance and foolishness of the Japanese elite have really doubled the tragedy of the Fukushima Daiichi accident which was however triggered by the M9.0 earthquake and the 15-meter high tsunamis on March 11, 2011.
