"Comfort Us Concerning our Work and Toil"

(Tokyo in 2009; click to enlarge.)

"Comfort Us Concerning our Work and Toil"

Last night, in a supermarket, a long chunk bread was sold at 200 yen ($2) or so. A transparent package of the bread had letters that read "Parisian."

However, I bought another package with two loavs of bread inside, one of which looked like French bread.

Then the bread, found later at home as having a hard portion, hit my carious tooth.

Yet, after having watched a late-night TV news program, I could peacefully close the day, since I called up samurai spirit...

California has two big assets: Hollywood and Silicon Valley.

If Washington D.C. should lose its glory and New York should lose its glory, California would be able to still sustain the superpower America.

Now, Governor Mr. Schwarzenegger is tackling a huge deficit of California's state balance. If he succeeds, the U.S. Constitution might be revised, and Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger might be elected as US President in 2012.

"God rather than Men"

(The Great Edo Castle of Samurai Monarch, Japan)

"God rather than Men"

SECTION I: Great Maritime State Japan

Traditionally Japanese people take rice, vegetables, and fish as daily foods.

Sushi was developed in this background. But, eel and rice is also delicious if cooked in the Japanese style. A whale meat is better than beef.

What has made the Japanese people excellent in terms of culture is rice, vegetables, fish, and their combination.

To your surprise, samurai's strength also comes from this dietary habit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exclusive_Economic_Zone

Japan is the seventh largest country in terms of an area of an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) plus territorial waters, namely "a seazone over which a state has special rights over the exploration and use of marine resources."

The prosperity of Japan in the 21st century depends on how to develop EEZ, since Japanese fisheries engineering is leading the world.

Sea farmings of tuna and eels in addition to whales might become big industry in this century.

As we have many marine cables connecting Japan to the U.S. through the Pacific Ocean, we can surely surround a vast sea area with cables and nets to form a breeding area.

The key to success is of course how to feed them so that fishes and whales will not escape the Japanese seas.

Anyway, remember three major species contributing to Japan's excellence: tuna, eels, and whales, but not cows, swines, and birds.

"Thou Shalt not Commit Adultery"

(Near Imperial Palace and Yasukuni Shrine, Tokyo)

"Thou Shalt not Commit Adultery"

After the Civil War in 1860's passing through the Great Depression Era in 1930's and the Second World War and the Cold War with the Vietnam War from 1940's to 1980's, the United States of America has been growing being supported by many immigrants from all over the world.

But, the base of the people's spiritual power is rooted in emancipated African Americans after the South-North Over-Slavery War.

SECTION I: American History

Louis[1] Daniel Armstrong (August 4, 1901[2] – July 6, 1971), nicknamed Satchmo[3] or Pops, was an American jazz trumpeter and singer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Armstrong

Louis Armstrong smiled an unbelievably cheerfully big smile, but he looked like crying inside.

Muhammad Ali (born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.) is a retired American boxer and three-time World Heavyweight Champion. As an amateur, he won a gold medal in the light heavyweight division at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Ali

Mr. Ali excited many Japanese people decades ago as the most sophisticated and strongest American boxer. His refusal to do military service and his conversion to Islam also created complicated ripples on Japanese views on America. It is hard to comprehend the historical implication that Mr. Ali once shared glorious time with Louis Armstrong, John F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, Jr., looking back from the present era of President Mr. Barack Obama.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American clergyman, activist and prominent leader in the African-American civil rights movement. His main legacy was to secure progress on civil rights in the United States and he is frequently referenced as a human rights icon today.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Luther_King,_Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. did not excite the Japanese but was highly acknowledged as a symbol of African American movement toward equality and justice amid hostility under human masks of European Americans.

Colin Luther Powell (born April 5, 1937) is an American statesman and a former four-star general in the United States Army. He was the 65th United States Secretary of State (2001-2005), serving under President George W. Bush.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Powell

When the Persian Gulf Crisis erupted in 1990, Mr. Powell was the Joint Chief of Staff. It was an extreme surprise for me that an African American general could be appointed to the highest military position in the United States Defense regime. Indeed, Mr. George H.W. Bush, a veteran on the Pacific Stage of WWII, looks like having been something to authorize Mr. Powell.

Condoleezza Rice (born November 14, 1954) is a professor, diplomat, author, and national security expert. She served as the 66th United States Secretary of State, and the second in the administration of President George W. Bush to hold the office.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condoleezza_Rice

If Ms. Rice should visit Japan, she would be treated as a big star, I bet. Most of European American actresses would be however against a perspective that such a girl as Ms. Rice could be an actress in the U.S. Anyway, Ms. Rice and Princess Diana are two major female players lionized by the global media in this decade or so.

And the history is going on with you, gentlemen, on the American Continent...

SECTION II: Divorce without Adultery?

If you are raised in an ordinary family, you will assume that everybody is raised in a normal family environment.

But, if a half of your generation has a biased family background, you had better change your philosophy on life and refer to the Bible.

----
Divorce Rates

"14% of white women who married in the 1940s eventually divorced. A single generation later, almost 50 percent of those that married in the late sixties and early seventies have already divorced. ... Between 1970 and 1992, the proportion of babies born outside of marriage leaped from 11% to 30%."

----

In summary, almost one in two of newly married couples in the U.S. can be regarded as destined to divorce.
(Almost one in three of newly married couple in Japan might be to divorce.)

In the above context, the American Civilization could be more a threat to mankind than Islam is, even if Muslims should start to globally promulgate their faith again, claiming their superiority over the Christianity like 1,000 years ago or so.

"Not to Call the Righteous, but Sinners"

(A Day in Tokyo)

"Not to Call the Righteous, but Sinners"

There is a beekeeper in Paris, busy installing nest boxes on roofs of various buildings in the city. Bees are hiving, flying to and from various plants and flowers in gardens and lots inside the city Paris, since their fatality rate is 10% in Paris while 80% or so in the suburbs due to agricultural chemicals, according to a TV report.

What a city is is a long-time question since Jesus Christ implied that it was impossible that He would not go up to Jerusalem.

So, Mr. Barack Obama went up to the White House.

SECTION I: African American Communities

To control the state of the United States, now they need something extravagant, President Mr. Barack Obama, a half-African/half-European Hawaii-born American.

European Americans have lost passion to make the United States the country of justice, equality, and total prosperity, indulging in money games and unlawful entertainment.

Then Mr. Sallis, 69, noticed a change.

"I've been working downtown for 30 years, so I've got a good feeling for it," Mr. Sallis said. "Since President Obama started campaigning, if I go almost anywhere, it's: 'Hi! Hello, how are you, sir?' I'm talking about strangers. Calling me 'sir.'"

"Whenever they said something, I was always looking out for their ulterior motives," said Mr. Harris, 62, a retired phone company worker. "Now I find that I take white people’s statements more on face value."

Mr. Patrick, the auditor in Tampa, emphasized how even small good-will gestures resonated with him.

Still, he harbors no illusions.

"I'm not trying to sugarcoat things," Mr. Patrick said. "Things could still be better. But they're better than they were."

If terrorists could come from a barren field of Afghanistan to New York, more terrorists could come from New Jersey, Chicago, Miami, New Orleans, and Los Angeles to New York and Washington D.C., say, within a decade from Sept. 2001.

So, African American terrorists or an African American President? The choice is very simple.

Anyway, the White House looks like that White House in a film or a TV drama; it is a show, rich Americans must have reckoned around 2004.

Accordingly, some 40% of super rich Americans gave up an effort to secure the presidency for Mr. John McCain in the wake of the Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy despite an outcry from their kith and kin in London.

"Thy Faith Hath Made Thee Whole"

(Tokyo in May)

"Thy Faith Hath Made Thee Whole"

In China, CNN International can be only viewed in hotels serving foreign guests and foreign embassies.

And Chinese coming back home from a trip to North Korea often say, "Oh, now I'm back in the country of freedom!"

But, it is rare to hear a Japanese coming back home from a trip to America saying, "Oh, now I'm back in the country of equality!"

Anyway, GM and Toyota have been too long and too much company-profit oriented to a degree nullifying a traditional economic theory; China and North Korea have been too long and too much elite oriented to a degree nullifying a traditional political and diplomatic theory.

What is extremely poor or rich must be handled following special philosophy.

In the case of the Roman Empire, history needed the Christianity.

SECTION I: Detroit

A Japanese newspaper reporter recently visited Detroit.

He found some broken and desolate streets and facilities, like in the case of New York, while hearing talks on a heavily alarming number of murder cases and other violent crimes.

Yet, people he met in Detroit said, "We are enjoying our life. There are so many crimes and financial problems, but we are enjoying life more than that."

The Japanese reporter looked around to see people in Detroit actually look like enjoying life in their homes, on the streets, and in open facilities, concluding that most people in Detroit are living happy lives.

-----------------
America's Most Murderous Cities

David M. Ewalt, 11.08.07, 6:00 PM ET

Top on our list? Detroit. The Motor City experienced 418 cases of murder and non-negligent manslaughter in 2006. That's 47.3 murders per every 100,000 residents. Detroit also ranked high for violent crime (No. 2), robbery (No. 4) and forcible rape (No. 12).

To put it in perspective: Detroit's murder rate is more than 8% higher than the country's second most murderous city, Baltimore, and eight times that of the least murderous metro. More people were murdered in Detroit than in San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas and San Jose combined--and each one of those cities has a bigger population than Detroit.

http://www.forbes.com/2007/11/08/murder-city-danger-forbeslife-cx_de_1108murder.html
-----------------

If a rational man thinks he cannot be happy by killing others, he would not kill anybody.

Or, has any murderer got happy by killing others in Detroit, Baltimore, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, and San Jose?

Anyway, Jesus Christ said that a happy man does not need the God.

Be poor, unhappy, and saved in Detroit.

Mar 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mar 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

Mar 5:29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

Mar 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Mar 5:31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Mar 5:32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

Mar 5:33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

Mar 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

"Power upon Earth to Forgive Sins"

(Finally Ikebukuro, Tokyo)

"Power upon Earth to Forgive Sins"

The biggest news today is this morning's nuclear test conducted by North Korea in the region facing the Sea of Japan.

The former South Korea President committed a suicide while being investigated by the public prosecutors for a bribery case.

The former Taiwanese President is still under trial for corruption.

The former Thai Prime Minister is fleeing his country to avoid the arrest for corruption.

And recently even high-ranking officers of North Korea having been in charge of the Korean unification activities were executed.

However, in China, it is said 200 forcible protests are conducted everyday by poor farmers and citizens all over the nation with the population more than one billion. They are all violently crushed by the armed police.

That is why Japan, the true and largest democratic country in Asia, must be respected, especially in the U.N.

SECTION I: Voter Turnout

In Japan, as ordinary citizens or more than 90% of the population have been able to read and write in these 300 years, election voting is practiced usually by voter's writing a candidate name on a balloting sheet.

You have to write a name of a politician you are going to vote for on a small table in a partitioned space at a voting station.

Of course, if you have no choices, you can leave it blank and just put it into a ballot box.

Yesterday, a big city situated near Tokyo Prefecture held its mayoral election. With an increase of 7% of voters actually voting from the previous election, a former US-Republican-like-LDP mayor was turned down and a new US-Democratic-like-DPJ mayor was elected (the voting rate was 42.78% among the city population of 1.2 million).

As incumbent Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso is the head of the LDP, he might feel a threat this morning that the rival party DPJ is coming closer to depriving the LDP of power in the coming general election, especially if a voter turnout gets higher, say, by 7% in the coming national election.

http://elections.gmu.edu/voter_turnout.htm

In the American Presidential Election, Mr. Barack Obama was elected in 2008 just with a few percentage increase in the eligible or voting-age voters' turnout. But, it is the only case displaying the three-consecutive-elections increase in a Presidential Election turnout sine Mr. George W. Bush defeated Mr. Al Gore. This few percent increase in 2008 must correspond to a 10 percent increase in other years.

By the way, if you write "Jesus Christ" on ballot paper in Japan instead of a candidate's name, it is not illegal at all.

SECTION II: California

Luk 5:21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

Luk 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?

Luk 5:23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

Luk 5:24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

Luk 5:25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

1999 to 2012 and 2016

1999 to 2012 and 2016

Today, it is rainy and I am busy with a lot of work to do.

But, late last night, a cable TV channel, serving around Tokyo, featured the crisis of Dec. 21, 2012 and some related prophetic poems of Nostradamus.

----------------
2012 doomsday prediction

The 2012 doomsday prediction is a present-day cultural meme proposing that cataclysmic and apocalyptic events will occur in the year 2012. This idea has been disseminated by numerous books, internet sites and by TV documentaries. The forecast is based primarily on what is claimed to be the end-date of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, which is presented as lasting 5,125 years and as terminating on December 21 or 23, 2012, along with interpretations of assorted legends, scriptures and prophecies.

A New Age interpretation of this transition posits that, during this time, the planet and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation rather than an armageddon, and that 2012 may well be the end of the world as we know it, but not the end of the human species.[1]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_21,_2012
----------------

They once said that Nostradamus predicted the world would end in July 1999.

This time, they say that Nostradamus predicted that though the world would not end, something extravagant would happen on December 21, 2012.

If somebody had predicted in the first century that Israelites would be soon forcibly driven out of Jerusalem but would return to the holy city by force to be Israelis in the 20th century, we could think that such a prophecy could be possible.

(Jesus Christ Himself said to come back sometime riding on the cloud so that everybody could see Him from the East to the West.)

And, we are yet to hear any such prediction from the Islamic world while their mode of religious practices has been implying for 1400 years that the end is so close.

So, you had better doubt honesty of those who are making money by selling such predictions.

Yet, the year 2012 will not be an ordinary year, since 2008 was not.

By the way, do you really expect that the 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo?

(I once mentioned some notable prophecies and predictions about the world, such as Newton's; you can still find them somewhere in this blog site.

And, I also made some predictions, too, based on correlation between the year 2001 and A.D.1. Please refer to my posting on October 03, 2008 "EEE-HISTORY". It goes the following way:

1943 (63 B.C.): Pompey captures Jerusalem, and establishes Roman annexation of Judea as a client kingdom. King Judah Aristobulus II removed from power, while his brother John Hyrcanus II becomes king under Roman suzerainty

1962 (44 B.C.): Julius Caesar murdered

1975 (31 B.C.): Roman Civil War: Battle of Actium — Off the western coast of Greece, forces of Octavian defeat troops under Mark Antony and Cleopatra.

1979 (27 B.C.): The Roman Senate votes Octavian the title of Augustus. Augustus eventually assumes all authority formerly held by the Roman senate becoming the first emperor.

2000 (6 B.C.): Birth of Jesus of Nazareth

[Though there isn't the year "A.D. 0," a new Pope was elected and the EEE Reporter started in 2005.]

2006 (1 A.D.):

2014 (9 A.D.): Three Roman legions were ambushed and destroyed at Teutoberg Forest by Germans under the leadership of Arminius.

2019 (14 A.D.): Augustus Caesar, first emperor of Rome, dies. His nephew Tiberius is his successor.

2035 (30 A.D.):
Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Death of Jesus.

2069 (64 A.D.): Great Fire of Rome, first Roman mass Persecution of Christians, earliest significant recognition of Christians in Rome.

2071 (66 – 73 A.D.): First Jewish-Roman War. )
