"against the Lord, and against his Christ"

(One in Four Looks Like Alright in Tokyo)

Midsummer Night's Dream Again

Experts in Japan today all forecast that the 2010 summer's national election will be resulted in the defeat of the incumbent ruling pro-Chinese party DPJ led by Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama.

However, no one expects the former ruling pro-American LDP will immediately return to power, since it is just an Upper House election for half of its members, while a real regime change needs a majority of Lower House support in the Japanese Diet.

Presumably, de-facto head of the DPJ Mr. Ichiro Ozawa might chose a "self-destructive election campaign" with Mr. Hatoyama kept in premiership as it is, while the LDP led by Mr. Sadakazu Tanigaki also looks like following the pattern of the self-destructive election campaign then P.M. Mr. Taro Aso of the LDP pursued ironically in the 2009-30-8 Lower-House election.

So, in this summer, for complicated reasons, both the two major political parties of Japan, the Democratic Party of Japan and the Liberal Democratic Party, will probably enter self-destructive election campaigns, since the leadership of each party will be preserved after all. It is because no regime change can happen even if the ruling DPJ is forced to tie up with some small or new parties after this election.

Yes, it is a self-destructive election campaign. But can it help President Mr. Barack Obama in 2012?

(As of now, it seems that Mr. Taro Kono of the LDP can be a reasonable pro-Chinese prime minister and Mr. Seiji Maehara of the DPJ can be a reasonable pro-American prime minister someday as they look somehow transparent...)

SECTION I: 1995 To 2008

Economists cannot cause, explain the cause of, or understand the significance of the following trends of GDPs in the U.S. and Japan for the past 20 years.

Economists can only describe how the things went on around money, interest, and prices or at bets an unemployment rate. But, they cannot tell why it happened in real terms. They might say something using financial data and figures which are not the causes and the real mechanism of the trends. There is no nation in the world whose major industry is the printing of bills.

So, just remember that the year 1995 was when the Windows 95 OS was launched and the Internet started to prevail in various communities in America, starting to change economy.

It is not financial theory intellectually biased economists can only handle but the Windows 95 OS and the Internet that drove the American GDP so drastically for subsequent 20 years.

It is not economists that are working in factories, shops, or R&D centers. It is not economists that are managing people and funds in corporations.

If economists can save the world, they must have saved Japan before 1995. Even Toyota and GM would hire economists for their CEOs or presidents.

(They are like Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama who can obtain a doctor's degree in an American university, but cannot understand that the society would collapse if a prime minister of a nation uses power to avoid an arrest for $6 million tax evasion exposed publicly without apologizing the people.)

How many economists in the world can explain how the Windows 95 and the Internet had influenced the reality expressed in the above figure, while there were no other crucial economic factors in 1995 that could bring about such a change?

In addition, the use of computer software is highly influenced by culture of a nation, including its language.

Anyway, start to think of economy for your own without blindly respecting economists who are even despised by very-rich and super-rich people.

Yet, the Chinese Communist Party has learnt well from American and Japanese economists to further promote their "anti-economics policies" to be an economic power following Japan.

SECTION II: Shanghai, Mitsubishi & Rockefeller

In 1990, Mitsubishi joined Rockefeller through capital investment in the real estate sector. Their modern relationship is still going on, further advancing to Shanghai from New York through Tokyo.

Rockefeller Group is perhaps best known as the onetime owner of Rockefeller Center in New York City, including Radio City Music Hall, which it sold to a group of investors in 1997.

Now a part of Mitsubishi Estate Co. Ltd. of Japan, the company owns nearby landmarks the Time-Life and McGraw-Hill buildings, as well as properties in Florida, California and New Jersey.

A Manhattan native, Green joined Rockefeller in 1980 as an assistant vice president and real estate counsel, rising to his current position last October.

Most exciting, he says, are Rockefeller's prospects in China, where it is helping rehabilitate sections of the city of Shanghai and may eventually build "something on the skyline" of the scale of Rockefeller Center.

"You should see Shanghai -- it's bustling," says Green, 56, a resident of Pelham, N.Y. "They're also building a whole new city across the river. Shanghai wants to be one of the cities you'd say in the same breath as London or New York, a really dynamic place."

Like the buildings of Rockefeller Group, Green is a higher-up, beholden to shareholders and more than 10,000 employees, which he says is both rewarding and daunting...

One event he's particularly proud to have been involved in is the merger of Rockefeller into Mitsubishi in 1997, which also required the meshing of the Japanese consensus-based culture with the American spirit of risk and entrepreneurialism.

In 2005, The Rockefeller Group became the official Master Developer for a portion of a historic area in Shanghai, China, known as The Bund, once the home of the city’s financial and trade industries. The Rockefeller Group and its partners are redeveloping a six-block historic area in three phases, restoring the area’s landmarked buildings and developing new, architecturally compatible buildings to evoke the best of the world-renowned glamour and elegance that Shanghai enjoyed during the 1920s and ’30s as a center for international trade and travel.

----------

So, how would the Empire of Japan try to destroy Shanghai in 1930's by sending tens of thousands of troops over the East China Sea (except for fierce defense of whole Shanghai, including French/British/American settlements, from reckless Chinese troops), while its business in the half-colonized city by Westerners was so important especially after the Great Depression?

Anyway, more specifically:

----------
David Rockefeller Sr. (born June 12, 1915)
...
Under his stewardship the Chase spread internationally and became a central pillar in the world's financial system, including being the leading bank for the United Nations. A notable achievement was the setting up of the first branch of an American bank at One Karl Marx Square, near the Kremlin, in the then Soviet UnionSoviet Union, in 1973. This was also the year Rockefeller traveled to China, resulting in his bank becoming the National Bank of China's first correspondent bank in the United States...

----------

Mitsubishi Group, including a heavy industry business, a car maker, and a mega-bank, once supplied a great amount of weapons for the Imperial Navy and Army before the end of WWII.

But now in 2010, the Chinese Communist Party, Mitsubishi Group, and Rockefeller Group are all hand in hand to promote business success in Shanghai and China...

But have they learnt anything from history about Shanghai around 1930?

Indeed, it may be a time that some miracle happens.

Otherwise, 75% of the people in Japan and the U.S. will become a kind of criminals in terms of financial frauds or obscenity.

As President Mr. Barack Obama visited the New York Stock Exchange, some Angel should visit a certain place in Tokyo to monitor something.

It is what I am the most thinking of now.

"those which were possessed with devils"

(Tokyo Buildings)

Determinants

A big change is realized by a unique determinant.

The 2008 Presidential Election had two unique determinants: the Lehman Shock and the African American candidate Mr. Barack Obama.

The 2009-30-8 general election in Japan had two unique determinants: the large-scale governmental omission of the pension fund management and the very wrong manners of then Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso.

National elections this year in Japan and America may have one or two determinants already existent.

Yet, we had better have politicians dance more like a nut, since truth of the world is so crazy.

SECTION I: CHINA RISK

At the start of this year, 2010, many economists in the world predicted that the Chinese economy would face a crisis by the end of 2010.

- Property prices in cities in China are now comparable to those in Japan, the E.U., and North America, but an average income of Chinese workers is one tenth of that of the advanced countries.

- During the past year, property prices in Beijing surged two to three times higher; one square feet cost now $400.

- The vacancy rate of buildings in cities has now reached 10%, while 85% of Chinese households have no financial resources to purchase their homes.

- It would be like the burst of the bubble in Japan 20 years ago, in Hong Kong 13 years ago, and in Dubai last year.

However, the benchmark for judging the Chinese economy might be crude steal production rather than land prices:

Global Crude Steel Production Business Ranking 2009
===========+======================+=========
#1...Luxemburg......Arcelor Mittal...73.2 million tons
#2...China......Hebei Iron and Steel Group......40.2
#3...China......BAO STEEL GROUP......38.9
#4...Korea......POSCO......31.1
#5...China......WuKun Steel......30.3
#6...China......Anben Iron&Steel Group......29.2
#7...Japan......Nippon Steel......26.5

(Source: The Nihon Keizai Shimbun newspaper)

As long as crude steel is needed in the Chinese market, the Chinese economy can function well with those large-scale suppliers employing so many citizens.

When the steel market in China is saturated or crushed with full of buildings all over the land, it would enter the Great Depression of the 21st century.

SECTION II: CHINA IN GREAT DEPRESSION

Even well educated Chinese today do not understand the following facts (due to biased education they have had in China):

- It is the Imperial Marines of Japan as well as some Western soldiers that protected and defended Shanghai from regular and irregular Chinese troops invading Shanghai.

- The Imperial Army of Japan did not send to Shanghai a full-scale division (which could have been prepared for "invasion of the inland of China") except during the large scale offence by Chinese irregular and then regular troops in 1932.

- The 1932 War in Shanghai was a defensive war for Japanese and Westerners supporting and enjoying prosperity in Shanghai, since there were no reasons for Japanese and Westerners to attack Shanghai, their residence.

- In most battles around Shanghai and subsequent wars, the Imperial troops of Japan always faced twice to ten times larger Chinese troops but defeated them all with incredible courage and prowess based on the samurai traditions, while Chinese soldiers were not so well trained, since there is the East China Sea between Japan and China.

With this notion, let's check a certain writing on Shanghai in 1930's and the era of the past Great Depression:

-----------
Crisis, now and then
By Joy Lu (HK Edition)
Updated: 2009-03-14 07:35

It was the first half of 1930s. As the gloom of the Great Depression shrouded the West, Shanghai was basking in the exuberance of an apparent boom. Real estate prices were on fire. Bond and commodity exchanges were thronged with speculators...

The 1930s witnessed one of the most flood-filled periods of China's recent history. Deluges were recorded in 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1935 and 1939. Most devastating were the 1931 Central China Floods, ranked by some as the deadliest natural disaster in human history. Inundation from major rivers including Yellow River, Yangtze River and Huai River drowned some 400,000 people - even if some estimates ran as high as 4 million. Almost a quarter of China's population was affected and 28 percent of the country's farms were destroyed...

The traditional view of the Great Depression's impact on China centered on diminished exports. But China's crisis had more to do with Japan's invasion, the flooding and the hot money in Shanghai...

The price of silver had been on steady decline in the global market since late 19th Century because of the establishment of the Gold Standard. In China, however, silver fetched a higher price, attracting sellers from around the world.

The influx of silver caused a credit expansion that helped China complete its first wave of industrial development, argued Tomoko Shiroyama in China During the Great Depression: Market, State, and the World Economy, 1929-1937...

China has undergone a lot of changes since the 1930s. Yet, when comparing the impact of the economic crisis now and then, it's not difficult to find parallels.

In both cases, China's currency - the silver in the Gold Standard era and the not fully convertible Renminbi today - played a decoupling role. In both, foreign investment helped economic development before both crises hit...

-----------

To make sure, this author wrote: Strangely, the 1932 Shanghai War had no significant impact on Shanghai's vibrant business scene. The war disrupted the financial market but the buzz resumed almost immediately after the ceasefire.

This fact proves that the Imperial troops of Japan defended the prosperity of Shanghai with Western residents engaged in business in international Concessions of Shanghai, against reckless military invasion of Shanghai by Chinese troops.

Anyway, Shanghai's prosperity in 1930's was based on very unique condition as with today's Chinese economy, though in a far larger scale.

And, it is a Japan's security policy (with the pacifist Constitution) that provides a framework in which Chinese businesses can peacefully enjoy great investments domestically and from abroad, like in 1930's.

SECTION III: America or China?

Some Americans stupidly started to use the term G2 before the Lehman Shock, though nowadays they look like feeling ashamed about stressing the term G2.

Anyway smart guys in the world started to regard America as being on the same level of China but not China as being on the same level of America.

One of them must be Japan's Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama. In this context, he is the first Japanese Prime Minister that trusts future of China more than the current state of America.

Yet, China has no pacifist Constitution unlike Japan whose Constitution forbids the Government to make war.

CONSTITUTION OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
(Adopted on December 4, 1982)

Article 29. The armed forces of the People's Republic of China belong to the people. Their tasks are to strengthen national defence, resist aggression, defend the motherland, safeguard the people's peaceful labour, participate in national reconstruction, and work hard to serve the people. The state strengthens the revolutionization, modernization and regularization of the armed forces in order to increase the national defence capability.

P.M. Mr. Hatoyama might lack some commonsense if he simply thinks America is bad and China is good.

But, Americans stressing the term G2 look like being die-hard loopy.

"nothing hid, which shall not be manifested"

(Great is Tokyo)

Right Man in the Right Place

Mr. Akio Toyoda was at Davos for the (sinful) world economic forum early in this January.

Then, he was forced virtually to fly to Washington D.C. to attend a cool hearing in the Congress.

Mr. Yoichi Masuzoe, globally nameless but domestically the most supported virtual next prime minister of Japan, left the former ruling party the Liberal Democratic Party to pursue his own way for the top leader of Japan.

And, now Ms. Sarah Louise Palin is not in Alaska but in tea parties here and there.

The place where you are in at a critical moment might decide your fate, though Secretary Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton was in Hawaii when the great earthquake hit Haiti.

(That is why I do not like to be in a TV station in Tokyo at any moment.)

SECTION I: How Much Is America Disliked?

Washington Post might be thinking that it wisely put down Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama.

On the other hand, P.M. Mr. Hatoyama said to LDP President Mr. Sadakazu Tanigaki in a session of the Japanese Diet, "I might have been a foolish prime minister as so criticized. But, I have an idea and a resolution to fix the matter by the end of May..."

All the very-rich Japanese like America, except Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama.

Among all the Japanese Prime Ministers since 1950's, the current P.M. Mr. Hatoyama is outstanding in that he does not look like liking America as he is trying to abolish an old plan bilaterally agreed on between the former Japanese Government and the U.S.

Last Devember, the head of the anti-American party the Social Democratic Party of Japan (SDP) threatened P.M. Mr. Hatoyama, saying that she would cancel the coalition, leaving the Hatoyama Cabinet, so that Mr. Hatoyama's DPJ would lose a majority superiority in the Upper House, unless Mr. Hatoyama should fight against America in terms of U.S. military bases in Japan. As a result, P.M. Mr. Hatoyama changed his initial policy to accept the old agreement with America on relocation of the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma air base in Okinawa. Then, the Hatoyama cabinet started to take a weaving course, with its approval rate falling down to a 20% level.

In addition, Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, who virtually controls a majority of DPJ lawmakers, supports the head of the SDP, leaving no choice for P.M. Mr. Hatoyama but to accept the SDP's claim. P.M. Mr. Hatoyama is thus trying hard to move the U.S. Marine air base out of Okinawa, abolishing an old plan, agreed on between the LDP regime and the U.S. Government, to move it to a less populated area on the Okinawa island.

As a consequence, P.M. Mr. Hatoyama is under criticisms on behalf of the SDP, a very minor anti-American party, and Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, a very veteran pro-Chinese lawmaker since 1969.

But, if Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, a grandson of the founder of tire maker Bridgstone Corp. which legally fought against Ford around 2000, liked America like other very-rich Japanese, the situation should be very different.

What has made Japanese Prime Minister so anti-American must be a key issue for Japanese and American journalists, though he studied in Stanford University for several years in 1970's to get a doctor's degree and met his future (Japanese) wife in San Francisco.

And, symbolically, Mrs. Miyuki Hatoyama was born in Shanghai in 1943.

Anyway, being anti-American might be a very luxury allowed to some Japanese who are rich and secured enough not to envy the rich and the power of America.

SECTION II: Wars and Wars till 1937 in China

Without mentioning great turmoil in the wake of fall of the Ching Dynasty, the Chinese Civil Wars fought between the Kuomintang (KMT or Chinese Nationalist Party) and the Communist Party of China even after the death of the Chinese revolutionary hero Sun Yat-sen (Son-Bun in Japanese) in 1925 as follows:

1927 - Nanchang Uprising
1927 - Autumn Harvest Uprising
1927 - Guangzhou Uprising
1930 - 1931 First Encirclement Campaign
1931 - Second Encirclement Campaign
1931 - Third Encirclement Campaign
1932 - Fourth Encirclement Campaign
1933 - 1934 Fifth Encirclement Campaign
1934-1936 Long March
1935 - Battles at the Luding Bridge

They also entered the war with the Empire of Japan:

1931 - Mukden Incident
1932 - January 28 Incident
1933 - Defense of the Great Wall
1937 - Marco Polo Bridge Incident
1937 - Battle of Beiping-Tianjin
1937 - Battle of Shanghai
1937 - Battle of Pingxingguan
1937 - Battle of Taiyuan
1937 - Battle of Nanjing

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chinese_battles

So, China before WWII did suffer great casualties not only due to the war with Japan but also because of endless battles among Chinese themselves that continued even after WWII.

For example, in the Fourth Encirclement Campaign in 1932, Chiang Kaishek (Sho-Kaiseki in Japanese) mobilized actually one million troops in 15 divisions, but the Chinese Communist Army destroyed three of the 15 divisions to escape the encirclement. Yet, it is not clear how many poor Chinese citizens and farmers were involved and sacrificed in these battles between the warring Chinese camps.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_Encirclement_Campaign_against_Jiangxi_Soviet
(http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%95%B7%E5%BE%81)

Whole China before 1937 had been already in a chaos of wars. And, the Empire of Japan had no plan to invade and occupy whole China, though it maintained its interest in Manchuria and Shanghai relying on its own military forces.

Anyway hatred to Nazi Germany should not be diverted to the Empire of Japan, since the Empire (and even General Hideki Tojo) saved the lives of tens of thousands of Judaists before and during WWII around Manchuria and Shanghai.

*** *** *** ***

There is a specific word in Japanese "Guchoku" against "Oroka."

"Oroka" simply means foolish or loopy.

But, "Guchoku" means being stubbornly honest even looking like a fool.

Some say that Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama meant that he is "Guchoku" but not "Orokoa," thus Washington Post is wrong.

However, it is rare that a Japanese woman is described as being "Guchoku."

Probably, being "Guchoku" does not make a woman look pretty.

Yet, a wife had better be "Guchoku" rather than "Oroka."

"they immediately left the ship"

(Tokyo of 2010)

Go or Stay?

When they first decided to follow Jesus Christ, what did those Disciples expect?

Leaving their jobs and families for the future of miracles, what did those Disciples expect?

Anyway, the Vatican today cannot be what they initially expected.

The moment they started to follow Jesus Christ, I humbly suppose, they got everything they expected. The question is, of course, when and how they would realize it.

As 2000 years is enough for any issue to be finally addressed, it is time for the Vatican to be as poor as the early Disciples of Jesus Christ were when they first heard the voice of Jesus Christ.

SECTION I: The Korean Peninsula in 1910

For the Empire of Japan, everything started to advance to the Wars against China and the U.S. since its annexation of Korea in 1910...

Understanding of the modern history in East Asia depends on this era, though today combined economic power of Japan, South Korea, China and Taiwan could dominate the world in this 21st century.

------------
Treaty of Annexation
[Annexation of Korea by Japan]

(August 22, 1910)

The Proclamation
Notwithstanding the earnest and laborious work of reforms in the administration of Korea in which the Governments of Japan and Korea have been engaged for more than four years since the conclusion of the Agreement of 1905, the existing system of government in that country has not proved entirely equal to the duty of preserving public order and tranquillity; and in addition, the spirit of suspicion and misgiving dominates the whole peninsula.

In order to maintain peace and stability in Korea, to promote the prosperity and welfare of Koreans, and at the same time to ensure the safety and repose of foreign residents, it has been made abundantly clear that fundamental changes in the actual regime of government are absolutely essential. The Governments of Japan and Korea, being convinced of the urgent necessity of introducing reforms responsive to the requirements of the situation and of furnishing sufficient guarantee for the future, have, with the approval of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and His Majesty the Emperor of Korea, concluded, through their plenipotentiaries, a treaty providing for complete annexation of Korea to the Empire of Japan. By virtue of that important act, which shall take effect on its promulgation on August 29, 1910, the Imperial Government of Japan shall undertake the entire government and administration of Korea, and they hereby declare that the matters relating to foreigners and foreign trade in Korea shall be conducted in accordance with the following rules:

The Treaty
His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and His Majesty the Emperor of Korea, having in view the special and close relations between their respective countries, desiring to promote the common wealth of the two nations and to assure the permanent peace in the Far East, and being convinced that these objectives can be best attained by the annexation of Korea to the Empire of Japan, have resolved to conclude a treaty of such annexation and have, for that purpose, appointed as their plenipotentiaries, that is to say, His Majesty the Emperor of Japan Viscount Terauchi Masatake, Resident-General, and His Majesty the Emperor of Korea Yi Wan-Yong, Prime Minister, who upon mutual conference and deliberation have agreed to the following articles:

Article 1. His Majesty the Emperor of Korea makes the complete and permanent cession to His Majesty the Emperor of Japan of all rights of sovereignty over the whole of Korea.

Article 2. His Majesty the Emperor of Japan accepts the cession mentioned in the preceding article and consents to the complete annexation of Korea to the Empire of Japan.
...

In faith thereof:

Resident General Viscount Terauchi Masatake

Prime Minister Yi, Wan-yong

http://www.international.ucla.edu/eas/documents/kore1910.htm
------------

To your surprise, no Korean citizens started to fight against the Empire of Japan in the immediate wake of the conclusion of this treaty.

Virtually no significant armed conflicts erupted between armed Korean officials/citizens and the Empire of Japan.

(It is 1919 that a large scale rebellion led by some religious leaders occurred in the Korean Peninsula being inspired by the Fourteen Points speech delivered by United States President Woodrow Wilson on January 8, 1918, which resulted in 7,509 deaths. [One of influential Korean leaders, Kim Gu, fled to Shanghai to continue his fight against the Empire of Japan and eventually survived WWII.] After this tragic incident, no large scale rebellion occurred in the Korean Peninsula against the Imperial Government in Tokyo until the end of WWII, namely the summer of 1945. In this context, it could be said that this annexation was so successful, since Koreans were so modernized and industrialized.)

Yet, something must have been wrong in this legal and peaceful procedure of the annexation.

It is so, since the Empire of Japan lost three million lives in WWII, in addition, losing all the overseas territories, including Sakhalin.

Note 1: The population in the Korean Peninsula increased after this annexation from 13,130,000 in 1910 to 25,530,000 in 1942, though Japan's population was about 49,180,000 in 1910.

Note 2: The literacy rate of Koreans increased after this annexation from 10% in 1910 to 65% in 1936, though Japan's literacy rate was about 97% in 1910.

SECTION II: Japanese Direct Investment Overseas

Japanese corporations and individuals still invest into the American market more than to any other.

If returns from the American market are, say, calculated at 0.2%, Japan can get $454 million from America every year.

If returns from the American market are, say, calculated at 2%, Japan can get $4.54 billion from America every year.

If returns from the American market are, say, calculated at 20%, Japan can get $45.4 billion from America every year.

In short, Japanese economists should study on how to increase the returns from America, by increasing this rate from 0.2% to 20%.

Mat 4:21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

Mat 4:22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

"bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred"

TOWARD THE END OF THE WORLD?

It is now estimated that almost 2,000 people were killed in the great earthquake that recently occurred in the Quinhai Province, China.

Yet, the world exposition is to start in Shanghai on May 1.

Something today is similar to something of 2008, isn't it?

Or, worse due to the volcano in Iceland and the demonstartion in Thai, though not in Tibet.

SECTION I: Japan Won Swine Flu War

You don't have to respect Japan, but have compassion on poor Americans.

(Do not join AlQaeda! Do not get equipped with nuclear bombs!)

SECTION II: Mystery of French Revolution Solved

----------
How an Icelandic volcano helped spark the French Revolution

Profound effects of eight-month eruption in 1783 caused chaos from US to Egypt, say experts

Thursday 15 April 2010 18.11 BST

Greg Neale

...
The Laki volcanic fissure in southern Iceland erupted over an eight-month period from 8 June 1783 to February 1784, spewing lava and poisonous gases that devastated the island's agriculture, killing much of the livestock. It is estimated that perhapsa quarter of Iceland's population died through the ensuing famine.
...
Across the Atlantic, Benjamin Franklin wrote of "a constant fog over all Europe, and a great part of North America".

The disruption to weather patterns meant the ensuing winter was unusually harsh, with consequent spring flooding claiming more lives. In America the Mississippi reportedly froze at New Orleans.

Remember that Haiti is the only nation in Americas that uses French as the sole Western language for its official language.

Heaven must be highly concerned with France, Paris, or somebody associated with France, if not Princess Diana...

SECTION III: Heroes before 1930's

There is one facility to commemorate Sun Yet-sen (Sun Wen, or Son-Bun in Japanese)[1866-1925] in Kobe, Japan.

Its Web site presents an interesting picture of Sun Yet-sen and some Japanese who welcomed the great Chinese politician at Hong Kong during his trip back to Shanghai from Europe.

http://sonbun.or.jp/en/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=9

Anyway, the coming year 2011 is one hundredth anniversary of Xinhai Geming, or the Chinese Republican Revolution.

Sun Yet-sen travelled Europe and North America asking suppoer for his plan and action of Chinese revolution, but he spent total 10 year and more in Japan:

----------
Britannica Concise Encyclopedia: Sun Yat-sen
...
In Japan, where he was known as Nakayama Shō (Kanji: 中山樵, lit. 'Middle Mountain Woodsman'), he joined dissident Chinese groups (which later became the Tongmenghui) and soon became their leader. He spent, on and off, about ten years in Japan while befriending and being financially aided by a democratic revolutionary in Japan, Miyazaki Toten (1871-1922). Nanjing Historical Remains Museum of Chinese Modern History exhibits a bronze statue of Sun and Miyazaki placed alongside. Miyazaki wrote a series of articles for newspapers including nationally-circulated Asahi about Sun and his revolutionary efforts under the title "33-year dream". His last name Nakayama came from the imperial family which occupied Sun's favorite estate mansion located in central Tokyo. He eventually left Japan due to fears of the excessively large level of support he had there and went to the States...

----------

If Sun Yet-sen and his Japanese friend Toten Miyazaki could have survived into 1930's, the situation in SHangahi before WWII should have been more different.

The Pacific Stage of WWII might have been "the coalition of the Empire of Japan and the Republic of China vs. the allies of the U.K. and the U.S."

SECTION IV: Study in Elite Politicians of Japan

Among prescribed 722 lawmakers of the National Diet of Japan (Upper 242 + Lower 480), those who graduated from the University of Tokyo account for 133, while there are 756 universities and 434 junior colleges in Japan (more than 4000 college-level schools in the U.S.).

Among 133 graduates of the No.1 university of Japan, female lawmakers accounted for only seven (2 in the ruling DPJ, 2 in the ruling SDP, and 3 in the opposition LDP), while there are 96 female members of the Japanese Parliament or Diet.

However female ex-elite bureaucrats are only found in the LDP, namely 2 of the three. Yet, they did not even graduate from the faculty of law, while this faculty of the University of Tokyo has been so dominant in the judicial and official circles in Japan.

There are no female national lawmakers in Japan who graduated from the faculty of law, the University of Tokyo, and served the central government as elite bureaucrats before going into politics today (though there were some in the past)!

However, among prescribed 722 lawmakers of the National Diet of Japan (Upper 242 + Lower 480), those who graduated from the University of Tokyo account for 133.

But, not all of them have graduated from the faculty of law to serve the central government as an elite bureaucrat, though such a career is regarded as the standard for traditional elites of Japan, like the case of the late father of Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama.

Now, the ruling DPJ and the Hatoyama Cabinet are trying to drastically change the elite bureaucrat system of the Japanese Government, since P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama graduated from the faculty of technology, the University of Tokyo.

But, the Hatoyama Cabinet might be doing something wrong in a wrong manner for a wrong cause without challenging the faculties of law of the University of Tokyo and Harvard University.

Whay is Paris there?

Mar 4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

"neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father"

(Check, Check, Check, for a legendary hero, though this is Tokyo!)

Are You Alright?

Every Japanese wants to fly to Paris.

I think they are fools; so I have never been to Paris.

But some foolish Japanese, in this context, often think I am a fool, since I have never been to Paris, while it costs only 50,000 yen or $500, if the most economically, to fly to Paris and back to Tokyo.

They cannot understand that one of the reasons why they are not highly praised is their foolishness to want to fly to Paris to be proud.

By flying to Paris, they join Paris, France, and Europe to exploit Africans, Asians, and indigenous Americans.

When Europe apologizes to Africans, Asians, and indigenous Americans, I may consider
buying a round-trip ticket between Tokyo and Paris.

If no Europeans can fly to Africa, Asia, and Central/South America, the world will be surely more peaceful and prosperous.

Or, has there been any European who has been to Africa, Asia, or Central/South America to make rich Africans, Asians, and indigenous Americans?

Has there been any European who has been to Africa, Asia, or Central/South America out of good will?

Yet, I hope that you are alright if you urgently need to fly to Paris from Africa, Asia, or Central/South America nowadays. Are you alright?

And, did Sun Wen (Sun Yat-sen) [1866-1925] say so before 1930's?

SECTION I: Right Story of "IQ95"

The year 1995 began with a great earthquake of January around Kobe City in Japan, taking 6,000 lives.

It continued to Tokyo subway sarin-gas attacks of March by a cult called Aum, injuring 6,000 commuters in addition to ten or more dead.

Further the Director-General of the National Police Agency of Japan was shot and hit by four bullets in an assassination attempt only to narrowly survive, though no members of the cult were prosecuted for this bold crime so unthinkable in Japan.

The cult had many young members in their 20's and 30's who graduated from brand-name universities. Some of them were trained medical doctors, scientists, engineers, and even policemen and self-defence force soldiers in active service.

However, the founder and sole top leader of the cult was an early middle-aged man who had been once arrested in charge of selling false health goods or medicines. It is said that when he was young he failed to pass an entrance examination to the University of Tokyo, though there were some elite members who graduated from the University of Tokyo in the cult.

The cult had thousands of variety of members, young and old, very rich and poor, accumulating tens of millions of dollars, leveraging computers and telecommunications in their activities and venturing into expansion even to Russia and Australia. They ran various facilities all over Japan, especially around Tokyo and Mt. Fuji, one of which was found, after the arrest of the top leader, to be a plant planned to produce AK47 machine guns.

Yet, after the arrest of the founder of the cult called guru, it was revealed that they had even killed a lawyer and his families, since the lawyer had been helping victims of the cult in 1980's. After this murder, the guru ran for a national election to fail so miserably.

Anyway, the fearful sarin gas attack carried out by the cult in 1995 made scared stiff even the Japanese Government, then formed by the Liberal Democratic Party, the Social Party of Japan, and Sakigake to which incumbent Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama belonged then.

Youths of high IQ joined a cult and tried mass-murders in the middle of Tokyo, blindly following the cult leader.

This is the right story of "IQ95."

(Indeed, "IQ95" is what the author of the popular Japanese novel "1Q84" should have directly written. But, who would buy "IQ95" if I write it?

By the way, I have never bought a book written by Mr. Haruki Murakami, since he does not look like understanding the traditional Japanese culture very well from the way he appears in news reports on TV.

I cannot even understand why Europeans and Americans who understand the traditional Japanese culture very well like to buy his books and enjoy them, since I am yet to write "IQ95" fully...though you may buy "1Q84" as so televised nowadays.)

SECTION II: Shanghai Wang930

Evidence of a happy Chinese family in Shanghai in 1930's:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/natzee/sets/72057594094547695/detail/

Isn't it?

Yet, some Japanese nationalist today might say:
"If a Chinese rich family lost 100 dollars in a turmoil of any duel between Chinese troops and Imperial troops of Japan around Shanghai in 1930's, they would go to America to see Rockefeller and the Congress, shouting, 'Japanese took $1 million, killing all the people around my house!'."

Indeed, their $1 million in 1930's owed to English, American, and French Concessions in Shanghai since 1940's, in addition to Japanese involvement into security, industry, and commerce in Shanghai.

Truly, Chinese rich men would rather ask help from America, though revolutionary leaders, such as Lu Xun (Ro-Jin in Japanese), Sun Wen (Son-Bun in Japanese), and Zhou Enlai (Shu-Onlai in Japanese), all once learnt in Japan.

Japanese historical contribution to the Chinese revolution after WWII is basically as great as any Chinese rich clan's.

The Japannese and China should promote peace generation after generation.

A poor European woman said to a TV reporter that she had been at Tokyo-Narita Airport since Thursday morning as her money was running out.

The airport management has been providing free foods and a kind of counseling on site.

It is time to take some decisive measures, isn't it, Prime Minister, Sir?

But, the God must be always above the Volcanic ash like the sun watching every step of any human being...

Joh 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

Joh 4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Joh 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

Who Is Legend?

What Has 8 Legs on the Earth?

I saw an interesting person in the dream last night, since I am not an Ah-Q.

It was not however Jesus Christ.

It was neither President Mr. Barack Obama nor Mr. Ichiro Ozawa.

By the way, Spiders (Kumo in Japanese) are not a kind of insects (Konchu in Japanese).

The spider is an animal that belongs to a different group from that of insects. It has eight legs though every insect has six legs.

Insects are closer to centipedes and ordinary crabs and lobsters than to spiders.

Spiders are closer to scorpions, helmet crabs, and extinct trilobites than to insects, since helmet crabs are very different from ordinary crabs.

Yet, there is a mystery about spiders: How did they evolve from a common ancestor with extinct primeval trilobites (Sanyochu in Japanese) since 600 million years ago?

Most importantly, spiders and insects are the first animals that started to live on the land leaving the sea. They landed 410 million years ago earlier than amphibian animals which evolved into mankind finally.

Before dinosaurs started to dominate 200 million years ago, spiders and inspects had already thrived on the earth.

Anyway tonight, I will see "I am legend" on TV but not "Spider-Man," probably, since I am not an Ah-Q.
