"This was the Lord's doing"

Not only TV stations but also the Diet Building, the NTT tower, and others...(Can you see NHK there if not me holding a humble camera, or the Yokohama Landmark Tower?)

Where to Go for a Christmas Ceremony
(Pour quelle église pour Noël?)

I do not go to a so-called Christian church nowadays for a ceremony, since priests in churches are so foolish. They do not show enough respect to the God and Lord Christ Jesus, while they think they are entitled to be respected by others, since they are so-called priests.

When they leave everything (money, titles, friends, and families) they have behind to follow Lord Christ Jesus, I may give them some advice. From the beginning, being a Christin priest is against a basic teaching of Lord Christ Jesus, since everybody is expected to call a priest "sir" in a church. They must work in factories or shops among ordinary people to meet the God, while calling their clients, bosses, and managers "sir."

Another issue is why the Nobel Peace Committee cannot award the Vatican or the Pope the peace prize. Which is more authentic, the Vatican or the Nobel Peace Committee?

Every priest in Europe, America, Japan, etc. must address this challenge. If the Vatican is more useless than the Nobel Peace Committee, it is out of question and it is not holy at all. If any church or priest is more useful than the Vatican, it must prove the effect and influence over the world before the God. If any church or priest is more useless than the Nobel Peace Committee, why can it stand between its followers and the God? (Who is allowed to stand between you and the God? Think it over!) They have to make more efforts risking all they have, namely money, titles, friends, and families.

That is why I think ordinary people, consumers, taxpayers, and voters working in factories and shops would be given more chances by the God. It is therefor a factory or a shop you have to go to look for the God but not a Christian church, even in the Christmas season.

But, it was Harvard that Rockefeller donated humble part of his money as a present if not for Christmas.

David M. Rockefeller is giving $100 million to Harvard University, his alma mater.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/25/education/25harvard.html

Now, what do you request as a Christmas present? Or are you requested, since 200,000 people were killed by an earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia and so on in 2004 and another 200,000 in Haiti in 2010, while 300,000 have been killed by society in a forced form of suicide in Japan over the decade?

This is my first Christmas message to peoples in the world, including American Judaists, the Pope, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Marxists, Chinese, Japanese, and so on, in this Christmas season of 2010.

Praise the Lord, the Christ, and Jesus of Nazareth!

(Remember that priests in churches are more foolish than Rockefeller...)

SECTION I: US Treasury Bonds

It is not GDP but the amount of bonds issued by the U.S. Government and held by China that matters correctly and acutely more than Chinese false GDP claim.

This is quite accurate data. And, it tells that China has a scale of economy comparable with Japan's, but it also calls intention of China into question. China intends to secure advantageous access to the American market as Japan does, so that both the countries try to satisfy the U.S. Government by buying the Treasury bonds and helping America financially. But, Japan is an ally of America in terms of security while China is not. Japan is a free nation based on democracy like America while China is not. America does not worry about anything essentially if Japan, a friendly country, holds a huge amount of American bonds. But, China has another face that looks like the Soviet Union in the Cold War.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-08-16/china-seeks-military-power-in-indian-ocean-western-pacific-pentagon-says.html

Has China purchased US Treasury bonds as much as or more than Japan does as a kind of weapons to America in case? Or is it only to receive from America more preferential treatment in trade than Japan does?

The blue line shows the grand total of all treasury securities held by all foreign countries, private and public. As can be seen, it has been increasing steadily since early 2002 and accelerated sharply at the end of 2008. The yellow line shows those securities held by "official institutions", defined on page 7 of the Report on U.S. Portfolio Holdings of Foreign Securities at End-Year 2004 as follows:

Official institutions consist primarily of national government and multinational institutions involved in the formulation of international monetary policy, but also include national government-sponsored investment funds and other national government institutions. Data on such institutions are collected separately because the motivations behind holdings of official institutions may differ from those of other investors.

The dark blue line just below the yellow line shows the totals for bonds and notes which are that portion of the total securities that are long-term debt securities, with an original maturity of over one year.

Look at the figure to find that the volume of outstanding bonds the U.S. Government sold has tripled since the 9/11 Terror of 2001.

The population or GDP of America has not tripled over the same period. But, the volume of outstanding bonds the U.S. Government sold has tripled since the 9/11 Terror of 2001. Yet, the U.S. unemployment rate has doubled since the Lehman Shock of 2008.

Chinese economic growth has caused deflation in Japan inevitably, but it has also caused a possibility of catastrophe in America so interestingly.

Nonetheless, I think that Japan and America will eventually overcome the challenges while China will have to face a graver one.

SECTION II: Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshito Sengoku

"We can do any little violence. We can tell any little lies, since we are on the side of justice. We are warriors against the evil force of capitalism, conservatism, and pro-American regime," said Mr. Sengoku to his friend Mr. Sadakazu Tanigaki some 40 years ago.

They were both students of Faculty of Law, the University of Tokyo.

Anti-Vietnam War student movements in Japan finally crashed against thousands of police riot troopers in the campus of the elite University. Yet, student Mr. Sengoku did not join the final battle around the symbolic auditorium in the campus, since he passed the bar examination. Student Mr. Tanigaki was busy climbing mountains, while studying also to pass the bar examination.

Then 40 years later, namely, this summer, Chief Cabinet Secretary Mr. Yoshito Sengoku called his old classmate Mr. Tanigaki, now president of the conservative LDP, saying, "I am not a leftist forever. I am a smart guy, you know."

The Japanese media acknowledge a strong influence Minister Mr. Sengoku has on Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan, a former member of anti-Vietnam War movement around 1970 and a liberal political party around 1980's. Some joke about their relationship in which the Chief Cabinet Secretary plays a role of a key decision maker which the Prime Minister highly appreciates.

Yet, most of Japanese voters have come to share the same bewilderment LDP President Mr. Tanigaki felt some 40 years ago when he heard his friend Mr. Sengoku candidly said, "We are heroes of social and political justice. We can exercise violence, tell a lie, and break laws capitalists made..."

However, the most dangerous enemy for Mr. Sengoku is not the general public and voters but Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, 40-years-long conservative but pro-Chinese politician of the same party as Mr. Sengoku after a long story, who has never claimed that he is a hero of social and political justice while now being indicted for political fund scandals. Indeed, when Mr. Ozawa was following old-fashioned bosses of the LDP in Japanese politics 30 years ago, Mr. Sengoku was a lawyer helping Koreans living in Japan and some corporate racketeers who were all against the Japanese establishment.

So, the main players are Mr. Sengoku, Mr. Tanigaki, P.M. Mr. Kan, and Mr. Ozawa.

They were all leaving universities or postgraduate school in Tokyo some 40 years ago or around 1970, but they are yet to learn what they should in institutions of higher education.

In addition, one thing common among the four lawmakers of the Lower House of the National Diet is a lack of ability to correctly measure the danger of Chinese militarism and Sinocentrism which is more harmful to Japan, Asia and the world than American militarism and capitalism due to the lack of tradition of Christianity.

My advice to the four is to read the Bible.

Once or 500 years ago, a horse thief, actually a free-lance samurai, was caught and brought before a samurai lord who occupied as his own territory a portion of land of the great Kanto plain (on which Tokyo today is situated).

The samurai thief was expected to be subject to capital punishment, since a war-horse was so valuable for samurais.

"Taking a horse by force deserves death. Then what about taking a country by force like you?" challenged the samurai thief, saying so to the samurai lord who had actually started his career as a kind of samurai thieves.

"Well said. I pardon you. Let the man go free!" ordered the samurai lord.

No matter how ambitious a Japanese samurai was, he respected teachings of the Buddha and Confucius.

No matter how mean a a Japanese samurai was, he knew that samurais should respect teachings of the Buddha and Confucius.

Now you know why Japanese soldiers in WWII were so brave and strong, which Chinese, British, and Germans could not understand.

Anyway, if you want to peach to your sons or grandsons in Christmas using this samurai episode, refer to a biography of Hojyo Soun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C5%8Dj%C5%8D_S%C5%8Dun).

"the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel"

Not...
Tokyo refugees...
But a free market...(Once it was said that sons and daughters of wealthy families were employed by NHK in a large number...)

Not a Joke but a Challenge
(Pas une blague, mais un défi, mon cher!)

Till the Japanese parliament is opened again in January 2011, national lawmakers in Japan are busy going back to their own local electoral districts and joining any type of the so-called Tea Parties to ask for further support from voters.

It is because the approval rating for the Kan Cabinet has already fallen to a 25% level. The ruling DPJ now faces a crisis of a split in the party, since P.M. Mr. Kan's dangerous rival, namely Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, might take a decisive action while being requested to surrender himself to the Political Ethics Hearing Committee of the National Diet so as to explain suspicion of his political money scandal. And, what is worse, very old and powerful tycoons of the Japanese establishment are now engineering a plot of grand-coalition of the ruling socialistic DPJ and the opposition conservative LDP.

My standpoint is that Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan must concentrate his Cabinet and Administration on national security and economy, at least, till the next spring.

Even if his approval rating has dropped to 10%, Mr. Ichiro Ozawa tries to replace Mr. Kan with one of his henchmen, or some powerful guys behind the scene try to control the possible grand-coalition Cabinet, Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan must concentrate his Cabinet and Administration on national security and economy, at least, till the next spring, like President Mr. Barack Obama going to face a tough time toward his possible second term.

SECTION I: Stock Market, Stupid Market?

In a large picture, it looks that no drastic change has occurred in wealth kept in stock markets in the U.S., Europe, and Tokyo.

From 1998 to 2010, NYSE has increased only $2 trillion of its total market value, namely from $10 trillion to $12 trillion eventually, a 20% growth. It is a 1.8% per year increase over 12 years.

On the other hand, GDP of the U.S. in 1998 was $10.28 trillion and that in 2010 is $13.22 trillion, a 29% growth. It is a 2.4% per year increase over 12 years.

When applying to a 12-years span, economics must take into account twice bubbles and twice bursts. But, on average, it must be around 2% yearly even in the U.S. in any reasonable or substantial index.

The question is of course indices being reported from China over 12 years.

In addition, to record this mediocre result of American economy over 12 years, the U.S. has needed a $1 trillion level of additional and emergency money supply by FRB and Treasury bond purchase by Japan and China. Without these unusual factors, the unemployment rate in America must have doubled and the total market value must have been halved.

SECTION II: The Kanji Word for 2010

Japanese normally call China "Chu-goku" following the kanji expression meaning China which the Chinese Communist Government officially adopts.

But, this calling became common only after WWII. Before the end of WWII, Japanese officially and commonly called China "Shina" following a traditional kanji expression meaning China.

As China has come to show its nature this year through the false GDP fiasco, the Senkaku Island interferences, North Korea violation, and the Nobel Peace Prize interference, "Shina" must be given attentions to when reviewing this year.

This year has been also testing time for the new regime in Japan. Since the last autumn when it took over power from the conservative LDP, the pro-Korean/Chinese DPJ in power has faced many challenges, including the planned relocation of the US Marine air base in Futenma, Okinawa Island. Accordingly, Mr. Yukio Hatoyama was forced to spontaneously resign; his successor Mr. Naoto Kan had to take up a challenge from 40-year-long lawmaker Mr. Ichiro Ozawa to secure his position.

The Japanese new ruling party DPJ has really needed strong support from the people, the Media, and so on this year. Without support behind the scene, continuation of their governance is impossible. So, support ("shien" in Japanese) must be given attentions to when reviewing this year.

"Abram went down into Egypt"

War or Peace, if not Money or Love
(Guerre ou paix, sinon l'argent ou l'amour)

Handwriting is very important, if you mostly use a PC or a cellular phone for writing.

But, if you do not write manually for a very long time, you would really feel like writing something by hand. In that case, you need a notebook, a pocketbook, a datebook, or sheets of paper.

However, Christ Jesus only once wrote something, crucially, on the ground.

SECTION I: Social Expenditure, Tax Burden & Deficit per GDP

The most difficult social/political issue for Japan is ever increasing costs of social expenditure by the government, due to aging society.

Though the share of governmental social expenditure in Japan's GDP is not so large, it is a major factor for huge (accumulated) deficits in national budget and finance.

-----------------
(a) Index of social expenditure, 1990 to 2003

(b) Social expenditure as a percentage of GDP, 2003

http://www.defra.gov.uk/sustainable/government/progress/international/34c.htm

-----------------

But, individual tax burden on the Japanese people does not look so large in comparison with other advanced countries; for example, a consumption tax rate is still 5% in Japan while a tax rate above 10% is norm in Europe.

http://www.economist.com/node/10835581?story_id=10835581&fsrc=nwl

But, should the Japanese Government increase this consumption tax rate? The state of deficit per fiscal year in Japan does not look so bad as the U.K. or the U.S. in terms of GDP as of 2010.

http://druidsrevenge.blogspot.com/2010/09/cuts-separating-fact-from-fiction.html

If we look at an accumulated amount of public debts per GDP, raising a tax rate looks more reasonable, since it is just 5% in Japan while 10% looks the worldwide norm.

http://druidsrevenge.blogspot.com/2010/09/cuts-separating-fact-from-fiction.html

Yet, an increase in tax would cause a decrease in consumption by the people, resulting in worse economic conditions and deflation as well as more unemployment.

Even today, the yearly number of those who commit suicide in Japan is 30,000 among its 127 million population. This rate is almost twice larger than that of the U.S. and four times larger than that of Britain. (http://www2.ttcn.ne.jp/honkawa/2770.html) A tax raise will affect a much larger number of poor Japanese, probably resulting in twice more suicide victims. Of course, it cannot accept that Japan has a four-times higher suicide rate that in the U.S. and a eight-times higher rate than in Britain.

Therefore, the Japanese Government must take another measure: the issue of government notes to cover social expenditure.

I rather regard it as a scheme where the government pays tax of its own to sovereigns, namely the people, in the form of government notes.

And this new paradigm of new economics can apply to any nation in the world.

Note 1: However, the size of economy, namely GDP, and production capability in addition to growth potential of national economy must be large enough to enable provision of materials, goods, and services to offset inflation potential generated by the issue of government notes. It must be also able to accommodate an expected change in the currency exchange rate toward the lower side in the international money market. Yet, so far, Japan seems to satisfy all these conditions.

SECTION II: Interest Payments for Public Debts

The ratio of accumulated public debts to GDP in Japan is so large, but the Japanese Government has various assets to cover its deficits. The amount of outstanding government bonds, 93% of which is owned by Japanese citizens and businesses, is also huge, but an interest rate is very low.

Put simply, a ratio of yearly total interest payments for public debts to GDP is lower in Japan than in most of G20 nations as the following figure suggests.

The following figure shows a ratio of the amount of ordinary public debts against tax revenue and a ratio of interest payment over tax revenue in each of G20 countries.

Though the Japanese Government has a higher ratio of debts compared with its tax revenue, its interest payment ratio is lower than Italy, the U.S., Canada, Germany, France, and the U.K.

So, as long as Japanese people and businesses continue to possess Japanese Government bonds and the Bank of Japan supports lower interest rates, Japan will not go bankrupt. It is so, since interest payments are relatively small in terms of the size of Japan's GDP.

But, introduction of government notes is better than a virtual compulsory possession of the government bonds by the Japanese people, Japanese banks, and other Japanese companies.

Anyway, new economics must be created in Japan sooner or later.

Not a Leaking Day but a Day of Truth
(Pas un jour qui fuit, mais un jour de vérité)

Since China started reform and opening-up of its economy and individual economic activities in late 1970's, total 4,000 public officials ran away from Chinese law-enforcing authorities to live abroad with illegally obtained money. The total amount reached $50 billion, meaning $12.5 million per public betrayer and 13 public betrayers per year.

However, it is only this April that the Chinese Communist Party started to reinforce management of elite Party members by revising regulations of public announcement of their incomes. (http://www.recordchina.co.jp/group.php?groupid=41659)

If this sort of information is all made public to Chinese citizens, there would surely eruupt another revolution in China.

So, the right way to judge the WikiLeaks incident is to regard it as the start of a kind of revolution, though it is now colored by immoral actions.

Yet, no information has been revealed about whereabouts of Mr. Osama bin Laden and the truth of emergence of various 9/11 conspiracy theories.

SECTION I: China's GDP, Senkaku, and Nanjing Claims

Finally, what the U.S. Government should not hide was exposed: false GDP of China.

The Truth About China's GDP
By CAITLIN DICKSON | December 07, 2010 12:08pm

China's famously booming GDP statistics are, according to yet another WikiLeaks cable released last week, not exactly real. Li Keqiang, a senior Chinese official and rumored front runner for the prime minister's chair, is quoted in the cable as having referred to the country's GDP numbers as "man-made" and "therefore unreliable."
...
This revelation might seem shocking, but those who have followed China's economy closely are not surprised to find out the books have been cooked.

Called It! "Anyone watching China should know the numbers are very edgy," Robert Wenzel writes, referring to his own a recent blogpost on Economic Policy Journal in which he wrote, that "China's real estate market appears to be on the edge of breaking down. It is very difficult to get reliable numbers out of China, so it is often best just to look at the anecdotal evidence."

Not Exactly News Economic reports on China have hinted at something fishy for past couple of years. Yves Smith at Naked Capitalism agrees that, "this WikiLeaks release, like so many others, is not news to anyone who has been on this beat," and links to some of the articles that have kept her in the know.

It All Makes Sense Now James Pethokoukis at Reuters makes the connection between China's fictional statistics and previous reports of ghost towns and giant empty malls that create the impression of a thriving population and commercial culture.

Look Out, Assange Tracy Alloway at Financial Times Alphaville warns that "WikiLeaks, fresh from angering US authorities, might be about to incur the wrath of China's economic establishment."

http://www.theatlanticwire.com/opinions/view/opinion/The-Truth-About-Chinas-GDP-6082

As I once wrote, the only reliable data about China is the amount of US Treasury notes China has purchased from the U.S. And, the U.S. Government must have more accurate data and information about the state of the Chinese economy than most of Chinese leaders.

Even two years ago, it was discussed based on commonsense by some expert:

The Truth About China's Growth
Published on January 22, 2009 by Derek Scissors, Ph.D.

Almost every year, all Chinese provinces report larger GDP gains than the already-published national "average."
...
Official data on the economy are whatever the Communist Party wants--close to the mark, too low, or too high.[2] While surety is impossible, the available evidence indicates true growth for 2008 is far lower than officially announced.
...
Sales of residential real estate plunged an unprecedented 21 percent through November.[6] What are Chinese consumers buying? Not imports. Import volume--the only verifiable element of consumption--fell 8.8 percent in the fourth quarter.
...
Individual Chinese are said to be both spending and saving much faster than they earn.

The Chinese economy's last serious slump was during the Asian financial crisis. It is now widely accepted that official GDP growth for 1998 and perhaps 1999 was heavily exaggerated.
Evidence was first found in power consumption growth, which dropped like a stone in the late 1990s while GDP growth merely moderated. Last year was 1998 all over again.

Please refer to a past EEE Reporter posting on the suspicions of correctness of Chinese GDP.

http://eereporter.blogspot.com/2010/12/intending-after-easter-to-bring-him.html

Now that you have found that China's GDP cannot be trusted, you had better check their claims on the Senkaku Islands and the Nanjing tragedy.

SECTION II: China's Senkaku and Nanjing Claims

Please note the following key points:

1) Okinawa people living islands two to four times closer to the Senkaku Islands than continental Chinese have been active fishing and sailing in the sea around the Senkaku Islands in these 1000 years, namely even before Okinawa officially and politically belongs to the central government of Japan since the late 19th century.

2) China's main claim is based on descriptions about the Senkaku Islands in books drawn up 500 years ago or during the Ming Dynasty. They claim that many Ming books identify the Senkaku Island as a territory of the Ming Dynasty. However, there are only several or a few books made in the era of Ming that clearly describe the Senkaku Islands. And, there are no descriptions that the Ming Court set the boundary in the East China Sea around the Senkaku Islands. They were mostly reports of Ming's envoys to the then tributary Okinawa Kingdom or books written by local authorities based on needs for defense of coast areas from Japanese pirates who did not mind any borders. And there are much more old Chinese official books written in the era of Ming and Ching where the Senkaku Islands are excluded from descriptions and maps specifying administrative jurisdiction. Anyway, reports and books issued 500 years ago cannot not justify the modern international claim if not substantially supported by continuous efforts. In fact, no Chinese have ever lived and worked in the Senkaku Islands but Japanese did.

Please refer to a past EEE Reporter posting on the Senkaku Islands.

http://eereporter.blogspot.com/2010/10/yesterday-two-miracles-however-you.html

Now that you have found that China's claim on the Senkaku Island cannot be trusted, you had better check the Nanjing tragedy.

SECTION III: China's Nanjing Claims

First of all, the Empire of Japan had no intention to launch an all-out war agaisnt China in 1930's.

Biased history textbooks all read that the Empire of Japan strated to attack Shangahi and subsequently invaded the Chinese Continent as symbolized by the Nanjing massacre.

But, the truth is that Chinese troops strated to attack the then international city Shanghai where tens of thousands of Europeans, Americans, Judaists, and Japanese, in addition to 3.6 million Chinese citizens, were all living in peace and prosperity under protection of thousands of police and military troops of European nations, the U.S., and the Empire of Japan.

Yet, there were some German generals sent by the Nazi government to China to help Chinese generals and politicians make war against the Empire of Japan. Two of them were Seeckt and Falkenhausen.

Johannes Friedrich "Hans" von Seeckt (22 April 1866 - 27 December 1936) was a German military officer noted for his organization of the German Army (Reichswehr) during the Weimar Republic.

In the presidential election of 1932 he wrote to his sister, urging her to vote for Hitler.[11] From 1934-35 he served as an adviser to Chiang Kai-shek. But on returning to Germany from China he became disillusioned with Hitler.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_von_Seeckt#Later_years

Alexander Ernst Alfred Hermann Freiherr von Falkenhausen (October 29, 1878 – July 31, 1966) was a German general. He was the head of the military government of Belgium from 1940–44 during its occupation by Germany in World War II...

In 1930, von Falkenhausen retired from service and went to China to serve as Chiang Kai-Shek's military advisor. In 1937 Nazi Germany officially allied themselves with the Empire of Japan, whom by then had launched a war against the Republic of China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The Nazi party, as a goodwill gesture to Japan recognized the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo and withdrew German support to China, including forcing Falkenhausen to resign his advisor post by threatening to have his family back in Germany punished for treachery...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_von_Falkenhausen

But, the truth is very different. Despite the Anti-Comintern Pact concluded by the Empire and Nazi Germany in 1936 and the Tripartite Pact concluded by the Empire, Nazi Germany, and Italy in 1940, the German Government preferred to tie up with China after WWI where the Empire fought against Germany to take over the latter's colonies in East Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

Accordingly, Nazi Germany sent scores of generals and officers to China to help build military and provide weapons in return to trade of some minerals, such as tungsten.

As even Japanese today do not know well of this German support for China in the Japanese-Chinese War in 1930's, especially around Shanghai and Nanjing, a Japanese author wrote a book on this issue: "The Sino-Japanese War was Planned by Germany"

http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%97%A5%E4%B8%AD%E6%88%A6%E4%BA%89%E3%81%AF%E3%83%89%E3%82%A4%E3%83%84%E3%81%8C%E4%BB%95%E7%B5%84%E3%82%93%E3%81%A0%E2%80%95%E4%B8%8A%E6%B5%B7%E6%88%A6%E3%81%A8%E3%83%89%E3%82%A4%E3%83%84%E8%BB%8D%E4%BA%8B%E9%A1%A7%E5%95%8F%E5%9B%A3%E3%81%AE%E3%83%8A%E3%82%BE-%E9%98%BF%E7%BE%85-%E5%81%A5%E4%B8%80/dp/4093878145

Anyway, Chiang Kai-shek ordered 850,000 troops to attack Shanghaj to occupy the wealthy half-independent city and drive out Japanese. German generals and officials trained Chinese troops, equipped them with German and European weapons, and guided them in building bases and trenches around Shanghai. Chiang Kai-shek and German generals expected that Tokyo would dispatch reinforcements to Shanghai; the world would pay strong attentions; and Chinese troops would destroy Japanese troops, so that finally China would become a strong enemy to not only the USSR but also the U.S.

Yet, after severe battles from Shanghai to Nanjing in several months, Chiang Kai-shek lost 333,500 troops. Chinese leaders and German military advisors all lost face. Then, they started to claim to the world that Japanese troops killed 300,000 innocent citizens in Nanjing. Meanwhile, Chiang Kai-shek left for another inland city Chongqing and Germans returned home.

If you look at the battles from Shanghai to Nanjing in 1937, you would be surely surprised at how incredibly strong Imperial soldiers were. But, all the more, Chinese are afraid of Japan even today. They feel so compelled to continue to shout false criticisms against Japanese even today, since they lost 333,500 troops from 850,000 mobilized against 5,000 Imperial marines with subsequent reinforcements of 250,000 troops, 300 tanks, 500 military planes, and 130 Imperial Naval ships in 1937.

No ancestors of President Mr. Barack Obama were slaves in America before victory of the Lincoln Administration.

So, I think that it is far easier for European Americans to accept Mr. Obama as their president than, say, Mr. Colin Powell and the like. Yet, it is not known how much living conditions of other African Americans are improved since the start of the Obama Administration. If President Mr. Obama eventually should not be so good as expected even for African Americans, his reelection in 2012 might become a little more difficult. America might start to look for more traditional value in presidential candidates in 2012. In this context, WiliLeaks or the like might have some influence on the election.

All I can say, based on my experiences in computer and telecommunications technologies, is not to trust telephones, mobile phones, faxes, computers, the Internet, the world wide web, and e-mails. They are essentially for engineering use and business applications. They are not basically designed to provide safety for ordinary people.

So, it is important to have a talk face-to-face.

Indeed, if you have an excellent skill of a face-to-face interview, you can live on it for 25 years in CNN, BBC, NHK, or the like.

So, it is important to have a face-to-face talk skill. But where do you learn it? In a synagogue, a church, or a mosque? And, no way in Harvard and The New York Times!

Finally, please tell the President as a message from EEE Reporter that he should finally issue an executive order not to put African Americans in prison ever!

Joh 12:7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

Joh 12:8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

"would not have condemned the guiltless"

A Tokyo Park....

Birds of a Feather Flock Together
(Les oiseaux de se ressemble s'assemble.)

A Japanese scholar said that there is down-to-earth humor in works of William Shakespeare, even in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.

SECTION I: Princess Diana (1961-1997)

Who and what Princess Diana who died in Paris mysteriously was associated with could be found in the following table of a composite family pedigree.

Note:
1. James Gomer Berry
James Gomer Berry, 1st Viscount Kemsley GBE (7 May 1883 – 6 February 1968) was a Welsh newspaper publisher.
Berry was the third of three brothers from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. He originally co-owned The Daily Telegraph with his second brother William, 1st Viscount Camrose, and Baron Burnham.
He founded Kemsley Newspapers, which owned The Sunday Times, The Daily Sketch and The Sunday Graphic amongst its titles.
His youngest son, Conservative politician the Honourable Sir Anthony Berry, was killed by the IRA in the 1984 Brighton hotel bombing.

2. James Roche
James Boothby Burke Roche, 3rd Baron Fermoy (28 July 1852 – 30 October 1920) was an Irish peer and a Member of Parliament (MP) in the United Kingdom House of Commons.

3. Evelyn Rothschild

Sir Evelyn Robert Adrian de Rothschild (born 29 August 1931)[1] is a British financier, and a member of the Rothschild family.
The son of Anthony Gustav de Rothschild (1887-1961) and Yvonne Cahen d'Anvers (1899-1977), he was named after his uncle Evelyn Achille de Rothschild who was killed in action in World War I.
In 2003, he founded with his wife, Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a holding company, E.L. Rothschild, to manage their investments in The Economist and various enterprises in India.

Chairman - The Economist (1972-1989)
Chairman - British Merchant Banking & Securities House Association (1985-1989)
Deputy Chairman - Milton Keynes Development Corporation (1971-1984)
Chairman - United Racecourses (1977-1994)
Director - De Beers Consolidated Mines (1977-1994)
Director - IBM United Kingdom Holdings Limited (1972-1995)

So, it began when Lady Anne Churchill married with Charles Spencer, 3rd Earl of Sunderland, on 2 January 1700. Indeed, it was 32 years later that George Washington was born in the British colony in America, that is, in 1732. As a matter of course, without this fateful marriage, neither Princess Diana nor Sir Winston Churchill must have been born.

But, what happened then in Japan?
The revenge of the Forty-seven Ronin (四十七士 Shi-jū Shichi-shi?), also known as the Forty-seven Samurai, the Akō vendetta, or the Genroku Akō incident (元禄赤穂事件 Genroku akō jiken?) took place in Japan at the start of the eighteenth century. One noted Japanese scholar described the tale as the country's "national legend."[1] It recounts the most famous case involving the samurai code of honor, bushidō.

In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Antony started his eloquent speech over Caesar's corpse, saying:
"Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him."

This is critically humorous in a situation where humor is impossible.

(Cleopatra should agree with me, in case.)

Antony meant: "Don't go away till the play finishes."

So long, so long!!

If the British highest society was one like that depicted in the American movie The Godfather, no wonder Princess Diana lost her life in a car accident in a tunnel of Paris (as a very rare case therein), while being under protection of her Egyptian boyfriend, their British guard, and a veteran French driver, for whatever reason.

But, who did Princess Diana sell out?

Anyway, the British highest society consists of super rich people, the media elites, elite politicians, and aristocrats since the era of George Washington, if not including a Mafia-type of connivers or James Bonds.

Yes, it was a big hit in Japan, too: the Godfather...)

In the Second Week of December
(dans la deuxième semaine de Décembre)

The other night I forgot a book newly bought, leaving it in a beef bowl restaurant nearby. Several minutes after having left the restaurant, I remembered it to go back and retrieve it.

Nowadays, some people sometimes happen to leave their cellular phones behind in a shop or a bar.

Japanese people often use their mobile phones as a memo pad. So, if they lose their mobile phones, they lose some personal information. Or, their secret, including telephone numbers of their friends, could be in hand of somebody else.

The point at issue is how you keep or manage your memo pad or journal after filling all the pages. In the safe-deposit box inside a bank? In the safe-deposit box inside a rental trunk room? Or are you living in a safe-deposit-box-like room?

But any safe can be broken; any room can be invaded; and any friend can leak secret information. Of course, any mobile phone can be left behind.

And more importantly, the God knows everything about you. Think it over, please.

Section I: Gold Tells

According to a Japanese Web site, officially announced amounts of gold possessed by world central banks as of 2010, in addition to the ratio against an amount of currency issued in each country, are as follows (market values recalculated from Japanese data as $1 = 90 yen):

Country...-...Gold in tons (value)...-...Ratio to Currency
---------------------------------------------------
1. USA..-....8,132 ($330 bn).....73%

2. Germany..-....3,407 ($130 bn).....68%

3. IMF..-....2,967 ($110 bn)

4. Italy..-....2,452 ($100 bn)....67%

5. France..-....2,435 $100 bn)....66%

6. China..-....1,054 ($43 bn)....1.6%

7. Switzerland..-...1,040 ($42 bn)....24%

8. JAPAN..-.....765 ($31 bn)....2.8%

9. Russia..-.....669 ($28 bn)....5.5%

10. Netherlands..-.....613 ($26 bn)....55%

11. India..-.....558 ($23 bn)....7.5%

12. ECB..-.....501 ($21 bn)....27%

13. Taiwan..-.....424 ($18 bn)....4.3%
・・・
16. UK..-.....310 ($12 bn)....16%
--------------------------------------------------
Total..-.....29,700 tons ($1.22 trillion)

It is said that the total amount of gold possessed globally by individuals, businesses, and governments is 160,000 tons ($6.6 trillion) which could fill three 50-meters-long swimming pools.

However, this figure cannot be trusted; probably there is three times or more gold in human society. Gold for industrial use (12%) and ornamental-personal use (51%) is not officially reported and recorded, though gold for investment (17%) and public possession (18%) is so monitored internationally. China is officially recorded as possessing 1,054 tons, but it is believed that China has 3,000 tons ($120 bn) of gold.

It is said there is still 80,000 tons ($3.3 trillion) of gold yet to be mined. It will take 32 years till this last deposits are all mined.

The market for gold has a size of $20 trillion, since gold is sold and bought many times in a short period of time. This is almost the same as the total global trade value ($19 trillion) per year.

After WWII, the U.S. is said to keep 70% of the world gold stockpiles. So, it is no wonder that the U.S. still possesses the world largest governmental deposits of gold.

If the U.S. is allowed to increase the amount of dollar notes till its rate (currently 73%) of gold to currency issued becomes the same as Japan's (2.8%), FRB can print and issue 28 times more dollars.

Gold looks attractive as a measure to cope with inflation, but nowadays people are purchasing gold in preference to the dollar while facing deflation, too.

If actually there is 480,000 tons of gold in the human world, every one of the 6 billion population of mankind can have 80 grams or 0.177 pounds. And, if all the gold having been mined is distributed equally among mankind, there would be no war and strife in the world, since every one would possess the same amount of gold, 80 grams or 0.177 pounds.

This might be the final solution for mankind.

SECTION II: England vs. European Continent; Japan vs. China

Why was the Industrial Revolution initiated in England but not in the European Continent?

The answer is in religion.

In the European Continent, the Vatican and its followers, namely governments, suppressed and drove out many of potential developers of, and investors into, modern industry.

In England, Dissenters who protested against authority of the Vatican also requested freedom in their business.

In the European Continent, the Vatican and its followers, namely governments, loved luxurious or religious articles and goods for cultural and non-pragmatic tastes.

In England, those Dissenters and their followers liked austere attitudes and pragmatic manners as well as goods suitable for such living.

In the European Continent, needs for mass-produced goods that could lead to emergence of popular culture were suppressed by the Vatican and its followers, namely governments so as to protect their authority.

In England, those Dissenters and their followers came to increase their needs for practical and functional goods and tools which would make their living in this world easier and comfortable.

Simply put, the Vatican was a great factor for constricting and holding back momentum toward the industrial revolution in the European Continent.

Only England, as a major power, was exempted from this religious burden being imposed by the Vatican. The British ruling class could embrace a paradigm more living-centric while the ruling class in the European Continent stuck to a luxury-centric paradigm.

Therefore, the industrial revolution was surely impossible in the European Continent, but possible in England; and it actually happened.

To your surprise, analogy exists between the contrast between England the European Continent and that between Japan and the Chinese Continent.

In applying Confucianism and other ancient Chinese philosophy, the Chinese Continent has been more suppressive and authoritarian, while Japan is more flexible and humane and the samurai class adopted honestly the teachings, though for their own interest and convenience.

More importantly, in China, only limited people learnt those ancient teachings before true modernization after WWII, but in Japan even children of farmers were taught some basics of Confucianism and Buddhism in humble temple schools all over Japan even before modernization that started in 1860's.

(In China, even after WWII, under the communist regime, Confucianism and Buddhism are not respected as much as, say, Maoism.)

At least, you have to understand that as the cultural relationship between England and the European Continent is not vertical, that between Japan and China is not vertical, either. Rather, Japan has had decisive advantages over China like England over the European Continent.

At the core of the advantages on Japan's side over China is spiritual matter, too.

This is also a key to understanding the Senkaku territorial defense issue and the contrast of recent trends of GDP in Japan and China.

What secret about Himself did Christ Jesus have?

Or how many pieces of secret about Himself did Jesus Christ have?

At least one that He is the God?

But, why do people all know that He is the God?

Why do people all know it? Why?

If your secret is also your enemy's secret, it must be everybody's enemy that would leak the secret. Think it over, please.

In addition, this is neither a secret plain blog nor an open encrypted blog.

Power of Randomness

One of basic digital circuits in electronics is called a multiplexer.

When you want to select one from four different input lines, you need two selector lines, namely A and B in the above case.

As an electronic device today works following binary calculation inside, four pairs of values of A and B are possible: (0, 0), (0, 1), (1, 0) and (1, 1).

These two-digit expressions correspond to decimal values 0, 1, 2, and 3, respectively.

Nowadays this sort of function is embedded in a tiny IC chip as one of one million functions.

However, sometimes you have to control rocket engines of an unmanned space craft travelling 6 billion kilometers over seven years like Hayabusa of Japan, using this method.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayabusa

If you equip a space probe with four ion engines, you might have to choose only one for activation at one time. Or, when one engine depletes its fuel, another must be selected and fired.

But, if one of the selecting lines A or B got in trouble and you could use only one line B or A, you can use only two input engines, that is, "0" and "1," or "2" and "3" to select one of four (if a troubled line does not enter a high-impedeance state).

Then, how can you make this space probe fly, say, 6 billion kilometers over seven years like Hayabusa of Japan?

Anyway, this way of choosing input lines through use of gate signals, such as A and B, is applied in digital circuits embedded in electronic equipment of today.

In addition, to choose one from eight input lines, you need three selecting lines A, B, and C, since (100) = "4" and (101) = "5."

Now, I will install a random switching gate before the multiplexer, in case of malfunction of the gate lines of A and B.

By sending a signal X from the earth to the space craft, this switcher can be activated so that, for example, Input 0 would be changed to Input 3, Input 1 to 2, and so on, randomly or easily.

Accordingly, our space probe becomes more robust than Hayabusa against ion engine troubles.

Of course, when I was young, I tried to invent a new type of functional circuits, though I had to be engaged in studying other subjects, such as life of ordinary people working in a factory.

Interesting?

So, this is a patent-free Christmas story of tonight.

Bonne nuit, et de garder à l'esprit Hayabusa.
