"ye that work iniquity" - (Fukushima Daiichi Review)

Tokyo Bay...

Fukushima Daiichi Review (Fukushima Daiichi Examen)

If Hitler could have used atomic bombs or nuclear weapons, he must have used them without hesitation against the Soviet Union.

There was no necessity that the discovery of atomic energy in a laboratory in Germany happened after Hitler's rise to power. This order of events could have been opposite.

Yet, the God saved the world making the discovery of nuclear fission come after the Nazi's dominance.

By the way, the military of the Empire of Japan was excavating uranium in a mountain of Fukushima Prefecture in the final days of WWII for the Empire in 1945. They aimed to refine uranium ores to produce an atomic bomb, though their technical capability and financial capacity did not meet necessary conditions for their dangerous plan at the time.

SECTION I: Harry Potter and Norway Shooting

I suppose that the book Harry Potter must have an influence on the culprit of the Norway shooting and bombing.

The work Harry Potter is indeed non-Christian and pagan.

I do not recommend the book Harry Potter. It should be rewritten and modified to serve love and justice. And, love and justice come from the God who is Christ Jesus. Any work neglecting Christ Jesus cannot fully serve love and justice, especially, in Europe.

Harry Potter should not go to a magic-teaching school but a Christianity-teaching school.

The Norwegian culprit performed the magic of bombing and shooting, being driven by an evil spirit which can be only overcome by power of the Christ but not by magics Harry Potter has learnt in the school.

SECTION II: Fuksuhima Daiichi

Some of crippled nuclear reactors are the type of reactors as below shown.

The state of a radiation dose at 170 km (100 miles) from Fukushima Daiichi since around March 11:

The radiation dose before March 11 was below 0.1 micro-Sieverts per hour. Now, the radiation level is just above 0.1 micro-Sieverts per hour, which is less than 0.9 milli-Sieverts per hour, a level not dangerous.

Most of radioactive material was discharged from Fukushima Daiichi on March 15 when the reactor No.2 and No.4 exploded. The traces of flying radioactive material were measured by a Japanese researcher:

(How Radioactive Material Flew by The Tokyo Shimbun Newspaper; the numbers attached to colors are in micro-sieverts.)

On March 12, the reactor unit No.1 exploded; on March 21, the reactor unit No.3 caused a fire.

SECTION III: No.4 Reactor Unit of Fukushima Daiichi

The No.4 reactor unit was not under operation when the great earthquake and tsunami occurred on March 13, 2011, unlike the No.1 to No.3 reactors where meltdown occurred.

But, there were two enigmas on the No.4 reactor unit: why it suffered hydrogen explosion and why its spent fuel rods were not damaged in the spent fuel pool due to heat.

http://hamanora.blog.ocn.ne.jp/kaiin02/2011/06/post_8986.html

Spent nuclear fuel rods were placed in the spent fuel pool in the reactor building of the No.4 unit in order to cool them. And, on March 15, it exploded due to hydrogen gas. But, the spent fuel rods were not damaged in the spent fuel pool, without a chance of generating hydrogen gas. Accordingly, it is judged that hydrogen gas flowed into the No.4 reactor building from the No.3 reactor building. It was not hydrogen gas generated from the spent fuel pool in the No.4 reactor unit that exploded in the No.4 reactor building.

It is true that water in the pool was evaporating due to heat generated by the spent fuel rods. But, the spent fuel pool got water by chance from a nearby big pit in the same reactor building, so that the spent fuel was not heated and melted in the No.4 reactor unit. In the pit old and contaminated equipment was stored with water to cool it.

(The Tokyo Shimbun newspaper)

It was when the No.4 reactor unit exploded with a fire on March 15 that a radiation dose measured at the main gate of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant showed the largest value, thus causing a higher dose even in Tokyo on the same day.

Incidentally, around the same time, namely around 6 a.m., of the fire and explosion of the No.4 unit, the No.2 reactor unit also exploded around its suppression room, doughnut shape facilities at the foot of the reactor vessel.

The picture below shows the condition of Fukushima Daiichi around 6 a.m. of March 15. The smoke in the picture was carrying radioactive material.

To make sure, it seems that the reactor No.2 unit explosion had contributed more than the reactor No.4 unit to the providing and spreading of radioactive material to wider areas around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant on March 15. However, it was true that both the reactors exploded almost at the same time, namely around 6 a.m. of March 15; accordingly the effect of discharge and spreading of radioactive material must have been multiplied.

*** *** *** ***

The largest nuclear generating station in the world by net electrical power rating is the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant, Niigata Prefecture, on the Sea of Japan, which is run by Tokyo Electric Power Company like Fukushima Daiichi.

The plant has total seven nuclear reactor units that can generate 8,212,000 kW of electricity.

In July 2007 a big earthquake occurred in the Sea of Japan just 16 km (10 miles) away from the power plant. It did not cause grave damage to the plant, though a minor fire occurred within the plant.

At the time, the LDP was in power. Therefore, it can be accepted that the then opposition party DPJ is now controlling the government to handle the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident. LDP lawmaker have had strong ties with TEPCO and other utility companies, while DPJ is supported by labor unions of TEPCO and other power companies.

Anyway, now the big concern in Japan is whether Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan of the DPJ will dissolve the national Diet to hold a general election asking voters their support for or rejection of promotion of nuclear energy. PM Mr. Kan is upholding an idea of breaking with nuclear power generation in these days, though he sold a nuclear power plant to Vietnam several months ago. However, there is no doubt that Mr. Kan will lose the election, since his management of the Fukushima Daiichi accident has been so poor. But, as his approval rating is now just around 10%, he might take the bet desperately.

Then, it will put an end to the reign by the socialistic and pro-China DPJ in the Japanese politics. Good or bad, conservative, capitalistic, and pro-American LDP will come back to power in Japan, since the basement of the Japanese society is a traditional value system but not Western-philosophy rooted socialism or liberalism.

In this case, the winner of the 2012 American Presidential Election can be also a conservative candidate in an American way, for a similar trend of the age works in both the countries, especially, after WWII.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

"an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness" - (Japan's Deflation and China)

Around Fukushima Prefecture...

Japan's Deflation and China (La déflation au Japon et en Chine)

In any society, rich people are trying to continue to be rich.

In order for rich people to stay rich, they would not give their money to the poor.

In any society, rich companies aim to continue to be rich.

In order for rich companies to stay rich, they would pay less to workers.

Ultimately, a country full of poor people and ordinary workers will experience less tax revenue and thus a big fiscal deficit if they have rich people and rich companies.

Conversely, rich people and rich companies are basically not interested in a fiscal deficit of their nation. They will simply support an idea of raising tax on poor people and ordinary workers to cope with the financial deficit.

Japan is one of countries facing this kind of a potential crisis.

SECTION I: A False Economic Theory

Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Naoto Kan took a too unique economist into his aid group some time ago.

The economist is very popular among bureaucrats of the Ministry of Finance, since he claims that an increase in tax would improve economy and bring about economic recovery. Though he was professor in the University of Osaka, he is now the head of a governmental institute for study of economy.

According to his theory, the primary interest rate in Japan is now zero percent; therefore no monetary policy can work. So, we have to take advantage of financial policy. In financial policy, investment into public work is more effective than tax reduction. But, the investment should be directed to the social welfare sector but not to construction of industrial infrastructures. Then, the Japanese welfare system will be reinforced while employment will increase and economy will recover. As for fiscal resource, tax should be increased like in some European countries. As people do not spend their money but save it, Japan has been in a long recession. The government should use their money in lieu of them. So, the tax raise is effective. Finally, the tax raise will realize economic recovery eventually.

Of course, this theory is wrong. The economist who supports PM Mr. Kan based on this theory is half-mad.

It is because Japanese workers not only earn less salary but also keep less savings nowadays compared with their state, say, in early 1990's. Under this condition, tax increase is devastating, since the whole economic situation in Japan is in deflation of 20 years.

SECTION II: Japan's Deflation and China

As I wrote so many times, the reason why Japan's GDP has not increased in these 20 years is that Japanese firms and businesses have invested a huge amount of their funds and capital into China but not into the domestic market. This sequence is as follows:

1. The burst of the Japanese bubble economy in early 1990's.

2. Saturation of the land and people's living space with advanced products, meaning less demands.

3. The Japanese environment damaged by industrialization and development.

4. Need to install plants and factories outside Japan.

5. To avoid huge surplus in trade with America, the above need is emphasized.

6. With advancement of the IT technology, globalization of economy is pushed forward.

7. A need arises to reduce labor costs in Japan, which is difficult.

8. Japanese makers start to move factories to China full of low-paid workers.

9. The salary level of workers in Japan is capped to make it balance with the one in China.

10. The gross income of whole Japanese workers has started to decline.

11. The Japanese GDP growth halts.

In this way, the nominal GDP of Japan has not increased from 1992 to 2010, which is called deflation.

Comparison of Yearly Salary in Japan and China
Year....Japanese Salary......Chinese Salary
2000..... $54,946.59..... $2,317.23
2001..... $54,112.26..... $2,669.47
2002..... $53,397.12..... $2,926.29
2003..... $52,920.36..... $3,330.07
2004..... $52,324.41..... $3,666.39
2005..... $52,086.03..... $4,030.80
2006..... $51,847.65..... $4,443.45
2007..... $52,086.03..... $5,215.56
2008..... $51,251.70..... $5,936.12
2009..... $48,391.14..... $6,430.07

Just think of it. There must be something extraordinary behind the extraordinary economic growth in China. It is Japan. As Japan has moved its investment target from its domestic market to the Chinese market in these 20 years, China could expand its economy. But, Japan has had to suffer deflation in a scale unprecedented in the human history. And, this deflation has hit workers but not businesses. There are no single major corporations in Japan that have failed due to this deflation. They all prosper. Because they have succeeded in transferring their business to China so as to survive in this era of globalization of economy.

The Japanese deflation is a result of success of survival of Japanese businesses sacrificing Japanese workers while leveraging cheap labor force in China.

But, why is this knowledge important to citizens in the world? Because they are all purchasing Chinese goods nowadays, say, in WalMart and so on, while Chinese companies are aggressively operating in Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia, and Latin America.

"he cured many" - (Books, Movies, and Heroes)

Around Tokyo...

(The power grid lines from Fukushima Prefecture to the Tokyo Metropolitan Area)

Books, Movies, and Heroes (Livres, films, et des héros)

People like to read books, see a film, and wait for a hero.

But, it depends on a cultural zone they belong to what books they read, what film they like to see, and what hero they are waiting for.

Only in America, Christians, Judaists and even Muslims could enjoy the same material, sine all the religions related to them were created in the Old World.

In other word, Christians, Judaists and even Muslims in America should think they are different from Christians, Judaists and even Muslims in the Old World. Especially, they should in these days, 2000 years after the birth of Christ Jesus. Specifically, after 500 years of the voyage by Columbus, it is time for Americans to wonder why they are still Christians, Judaists, or Muslims while they are not in the Old World.

SECTION I: Rankings of Books

You are neither requested nor compelled to read the Bible or Koran.

There are many useful and interesting books in the world, though without Christ Jesus and Islam they should have been all impossible.
Landmarks of Modern Literature:
1. The Three Sisters by Chekhov, Anton
2. Remembrance of Things Past by Proust, Marcel
3. Tender Buttons: Objects Food Rooms by Stein, Gertrude.
4. The Metamorphosis by Kafka, Franz.

1. The Battle with the Slum by Riis, Jacob
2. The Souls of Black Folk by Du Bois, W. E. B.
3. The Jungle by Sinclair, Upton
4. Twenty Years at Hull House by Addams, Jane

SECTION III: World Heroes Popular among Japanese

The Japanese people respect some Western geniuses but not so much Western politicians.
1. Albert Einstein
2. Leonardo da Vinci
3. Thomas Alva Edison
4. Ludwig van Beethoven
5. Ayrton Senna da Silva
6. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
7. Wilbur Wright & Orville Wright

The year 1492 was a symbolic year for the fate of Christians, Judaists, and Muslims.

On January 2, 1492, the last Muslim in Iberia, Emir Muhammad XII, known as Boabdil to the Spanish, surrendered complete control of Emirate of Granada, to Ferdinand II and Isabella.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granada#Reconquista_and_the_16th_century

On 31 March 1492, the Alhambra Decree for the expulsion of the Jews was issued (See main article on Inquisition).[47] The Jews had until the end of July, three months, to leave the country and they were not to take with them gold, silver, money, arms, or horses.[47] Traditionally, it had been claimed that as many as 200,000 Jews left Spain, but recent historians have shown that such figures are exagerated: Henry Kamen has shown that out of a total population of 80,000 Jews, a maximum of 40,000 left and the rest converted.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isabella_I_of_Spain#Events_of_1492

Between 1492 and 1503, Columbus completed four round-trip voyages between Spain and the Americas, all of them under the sponsorship of the Crown of Castile. These voyages marked the beginning of the European exploration and colonization of the American continents, and are thus of enormous significance in Western history.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Columbus

According to a theory, many Judaists converted to Christianity around 1492. Especially, as the Spanish royal house needed support from the Vatican, they forced Judaists living in Spain to convert into Christianity or leave Spain, or otherwise get executed. So, many Judaists converted to Christianity, but they were afraid of being suspected of secretly keeping faith in Judaism. To avoid getting under suspicion, Judaists-converted Christians turned to be aggressive Christian missionaries preaching in lands of pagans. And, Columbus paved the way for expansion of their missionary work.

Finally, the incidents that happened around 1492 could be a subject for a great book or a movie. A true hero might be yet to be discovered in new light for 1492.

"by their fruits ye shall know them" - (Global Weather and Islam)

Around Tokyo...

Global Weather and Islam (Météo mondiale et l'islam)

The total trading turn-over of the Japanese Government bonds in a year is about $100 trillion.

The total trading value volume of the U.S. Treasury bonds in a year is about $125 trillion.

Accordingly, no Wall Street players, including hedge funds, cannot manipulate them.

Stability of Japan and the U.S. lies in this sheer scale of their governmental finance.

So, do not get panicked if another 9/11 should fall or another 3/11 tsunami should heave.

SECTION I: Typhoon

Typhoon No.6 is now pressing Japan.

In 2010, the global temperature was higher by 0.34 degrees C than an average in 30 years from 1971 to 2000. The 2010 global temperature was the second highest since 1891.

In Japan, the 2010 temperature was the fourth highest since 1898.

The spring temperature between 1981 and 1990 (by NASA).

The spring temperature between 2001 and 2010 (by NASA).

There is no denying the global warming in these three decades. The causes must include an increase of CO2 released from used crude oil, coal, and natural gas. But, the cooling power of the earth might be stronger. At any time, a little ice age might come onto the surface of the earth.

SECTION II: Founder of Islam

Gandhi commented on the founder of Islam:
Mahatma Gandhi stated: "I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind.... I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I closed the second volume (of the Prophet's biography), I was sorry there was not more for me to read of that great life."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad#Legacy

Mr. Michael H. Hart ranked the founder of Islam very high in his book "The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History."
Hart's Top 10 (from the 1992 edition)

Rank... Name... Influence
1...Prophet Muhammad (c. 570–632)... The central human figure of Islam, regarded by Muslims as a prophet of God and the last messenger. Active as a social reformer, diplomat, merchant, philosopher, orator, legislator, military leader, humanitarian, philanthropist.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_100

What is important in Islam is the words of Allah given to a messenger but not a messenger of the words of God.

What is the most important in Islam is Allah but not a messenger of the words of God.

Muslims must love the words of Allah given to a messenger more than a messenger of the words of God.

Muslims must love Allah more than a messenger of the words of God.

Muslims may forget a messenger of the words of God and even the words of God but must always follow Allah.

If a Muslim who doe not perfectly follow Allah adheres to a messenger of the words of God and even the words of God given to a messenger, it is a tragedy.

Perfect Muslims do not need a messenger of the words of God and even the words of God given to a messenger, but Allah only.

This is a theory for you to consider well.

Indeed, there might be no more messengers of words of God, since each Muslim must hear Allah for himself.

Truly, this principle applies to Judaists and Christians: not messengers, not even words given to messengers, but God alone. You and God are the issue. Nothing should be ideally between them.

The goal was in the opposite direction against the one she moved to as the ball came by a corner kick.

Japanese female professional soccer players are not so rich at all.

Most of them cannot live on salary, if they earn, from club teams they belong to. They work in company office, factories, or even a farm land during most of day time to earn costs of living. Only a few professional teams allow them to concentrate on soccer for 24 hours in seven days. Actually, they flew to Germany, taking economy-class seats. The Japanese professional female soccer league does not receive a big grant from the government or public organizations.

Yet, as those female players have won the world-cup championship, giving a great lift to the Japanese people, each of them is expected to receive $60,000 of reward money, though first it was set at $12,000.

"it entereth not into his heart" - (Islam, China, and Japan)

Around Tokyo...

Islam, China, and Japan (L'Islam, la Chine et le Japon)

In the wake of the final of the FIFA female world soccer games, a Japanese business website, targeting Japanese Internet users, conducted an online survey on fairness of Americans:
Hove you ever found fairness in Americans?
1. Yes...87.1%
2. Not sure...7.1%
3. Never...5.9%
http://diamond.jp/articles/-/13194/votes

By the way, it is reported that The New York Times criticized a certain American media company that praised so much the Japanese female soccer team for their hard-won victory in Germany in live coverage.

(New York celebrates the championship of the Japanese female soccer team in the World Cup...)

SECTION I: The Islamic Battle of the Trench

To our surprise, the first enterprise early Muslims following the founder of Islam was engaged in was the bloody battle against an old camp in Mecca. It was a kind of an armed religious war led by the very leader of Islam. It was not practice of love and forgiveness. But why did Islam prevail in the Middle East in the seventh century?

The Battle of the Trench (Arabic: غزوة الخندق; Transliteration: Ghazwah al-Khandaq) also known as Battle of Ahzab, Battle of the Confederates and Siege of Medina (Arabic: غزوة الاحزاب; Transliteration: Ghazwah al-Ahzab), was a fortnight-long siege of Yathrib (now Medina) by Arab and Jewish tribes. The strength of the confederate armies is estimated around 10,000 men with six hundred horses and some camels, while the Medinan defenders numbered 3,000. The battle began on March 31, 627.
...
Muhammad established his military headquarters at the hillock of Sala' and the army was arrayed there;[5] this position would give the Muslims an advantage if the enemy crossed the trench.[8]

The final army that would defend the city from the invasion consisted of 3,000 men,[13] and included all inhabitants of Medina over the age of 15, except the Banu Qurayza (the Qurayza did supply the Muslims with some instruments for digging the trench).
...
The well-organized defenders, the sinking of confederate morale, and poor weather conditions caused the siege to end in a fiasco.

The defeat caused the Meccans to lose their trade and much of their prestige.
...
The failure of the siege marked the beginning of Muhammad's undoubted political ascendancy in the city of Medina.[38] The Meccans had exerted their utmost strength to dislodge Muhammad from Medina, and this defeat caused them to lose their trade with Syria and much of their prestige with it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Trench

People of today might wonder why the founder of Islam did not exercise a miracle to defeat his enemies coming from Mecca.

Rather, the founder of Islam was helped by a Persian follower who advised that a great trench surrounding Medina should be dug.

The founder of Islam was also helped by a clan of Judaists who did not eventually join the anti-Islamic force from Mecca, though they had concluded a tentative agreement for cooperation in attacking Medina.

Therefore, Islam owed its survival to Persians and Judaists on its early stage in history. Maybe even today, fundamental condition for existence and survival of Saudi Arabia today lies in its relationship with Israel and Iran.

What should be noted is that it was not a holy miracle the founder of Islam exercised that saved Islam at Medina on its early stage of development.

However, Islam spread like a miracle in the subsequent centuries to the whole Arab region, the Middle East, North Africa, part of central and east Africa, the Iberian Peninsula, the Balkan Peninsula, Central Asia, part of India, the Malay Peninsula, Indonesian Islands, and part of the Philippines.

How could it be possible?

SECTION II: Japan and China

China has the national land with a size 25 times larger than Japan's.

The population density of Japan is 336 while China's population density is just 140.

Around Tokyo the population density is 1,280/km2, but the population density in the Chinese coastal area is 400/km2. So, for example, an airport or a factory around a big city in China can have a three times larger area than that around a big city in Japan. This difference can have a real effect.

Through 1990's and 2000's, more than 20,000 Japanese businesses have moved their business operation to China wholly or partially. They employ directly in total two million local Chinese. Through subsidiary corporations and affiliated companies, they employ indirectly in total nine million local Chinese. Those Japan-associated businesses in China account for 30% or so in export from China (in my estimation).

The point at issue is that added value these Japan-associated companies produce in China is not included in GDP of Japan but in GDP of China in these 20 years.

That is why no GDP increase is observed in Japan in these 15 years in addition to no population increase in contrast to China.

*** *** *** ***

As for the Murdoch case, the issue is that Mr. Murdoch is not simply suitable for management of the media companies in the free and democratic society.

He does not understand the significance of the Media business, though there are some other Anglo-Saxon media companies that do not understand this significance.

I hope that the God would purge them.

"the disciples of John shewed him of all these things" - (War for True Justice)

Around Tokyo...

War for True Justice (la guerre pour la vraie justice)

A Japanese student in a wheelchair once traveled to an Islamic nation in North Africa.

He was demanded an extortionate taxi fare of, and met racketeers who stole some of his belongings.

Then, he realized that he was being treated as equal as an ordinary person living without a wheelchair, since he was not a target of compassion of those local people or Muslims in the nation.

So, Christ Jesus said not to follow the way of foreigners. When you go to a foreign country, it must be only for preaching, basically.

SECTION I: The Battle of Uhud

The early Muslims fought some fierce battles against their enemies:

The Battle of Uhud was fought on March 19, 625 (3 Shawwal 3 AH in the Islamic calendar) at the valley located in front of Mount Uhud, in what is now northwestern Arabia.[1] It occurred between a force from the Muslim community of Medina led by the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and a force led by Abu Sufyan ibn Harb from Mecca, the town from which many of the Muslims had previously emigrated.
...
Muhammad ordered the Muslim archers to never under any circumstances leave their positions on the hill unless ordered to do so by him only, he made this order very clear by uttering these words to the archers, "If you saw us prevail and start to take spoils, do not come to assist us. And if you saw us get vanquished and birds eat from our heads, do not come to assist us."
...
Enjoying the best of these early encounters, the Muslims pierced through the Meccan lines, with victory appearing certain. However, it was the detachment of the Muslim archers, disobeying Muhammad's strict orders to remain stationary, that would shift the outcome of the battle, as they ran downhill to join in the advance and despoil the Meccan camp, leaving the flank vulnerable.
...
After fierce hand-to-hand combat, most of the Muslims managed to withdraw and regroup higher up on the slopes of Uhud. A small faction was cut off and tried to make its way back to Medina, though many of these were killed.
...
Abu Sufyan, after some brief verbal exchanges with Muhammad's companion, Umar (Umar ibn al-Khattab),[18] decided to return to Mecca without pressing his advantage.[6][13]

The battle is generally believed by scholars to be a defeat for the Muslims, as they had incurred greater losses than the Meccans.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Uhud
For early Muslims to protect their faith meant actually to defend themselves with swords and archery in a bloody battle where simple disobedience of scores to an order would result in deaths of hundreds and more.

It is a stark contrast to early Christians or the direct followers of Christ Jesus. It is unthinkable that Christ Jesus leads an armed band and orders them to kill as many as the enemies of His teaching in a battle.

But, how did Islam spread in the early seventh century?

SECTION II: Victory in Frankfurt by Japan's Female Soccer Team

In the FIFA female world soccer cup competition held in Germany, the Japanese female national team won the final to be a miracle champion. Other Asian nations are all glad to see it.

Japan beats U.S. to win 1st World Cup title

Japan defeated the U.S. at a seesaw match 3-1 on penalties after they equalized twice a deficit through midfielder Aya Miyama and Homare Sawa to grab the first ever FIFA World Champions title 2011 in Germany in front of some 48,800 spectators at Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt on Sunday.

Of course, it would have been very difficult for the Japanese team to win the prize if they had to play with, say, the Brazilian team in a semifinal or a quarterfinal.

The Buddha said that what has a shape will be surely ruined someday.

That must be why the God has not a shape in an ordinary sense.

All the human science relies on objects that have some sort of shape. All the human philosophy relies on logic that has an abstract shape. But, simply love may have nothing to do with a shape if it takes it.

Yet, the word of God is said to stay forever.

Luk 7:18 And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
Luk 7:19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

Enigmas

Around Tokyo...

Enigmas

Mostly enigmas in life are from minds of people in a family, neighbors, or society.

However, to increase one's own enigmas inside might not be so recommended.

Yet, Christ Jesus said not to inform others on the left hand side of what you are doing with the right hand.

1. Eels

The Japanese people like to eat eels, especially, in the summer. Grilled eels with a special source on rice are favorites for most of the Japanese.

http://albero.blog.ocn.ne.jp/husky/2006/07/post_7e0d.html

However, it has been a long mystery where eels were born though they come up swimming to grow in shores, rivers, and ponds of the Japanese Archipelago as well as those in Taiwan and the Korean Peninsula.

(Some Japanese personally capture eels in rivers nearby or so [proper fishing time is from evening to night]...,

On the other hand, it was found in 1922 that the European eels were born in the Sargasso Sea of the Atlantic Ocean as with the North American eels.

Eels are believed to have been created in the sea between the presently Malay Peninsula and Borneo island. When India was not attached to the Eurasia continent 100 million years ago, the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean were directly connected. In two different periods of time in history, eels are believed to have traveled from Asia to Europe and the Atlantic. Probably, the first migration led to establishment of the North American eels and the second migration the European eels, since subsequently the Atlantic Ocean came to be separated from the Indian Ocean through the Mediterranean Sea and the Arabian Peninsula.

What is unbelievable is that both the North American eels and the European eels hatched in the Sargasso Sea of the Atlantic Ocean. But, juvenile fish moved and grew around the Bermuda islands. Then, the North American eels swim to North America and the European eels travel to Europe. They spend most of their life time at each destination of the two continents and then come back to the the Sargasso Sea for propagation.

This is a big mystery, since there seems to be no confusion about locations to go to and come back to for American and European eels, respectively. It is said no North American eels move to Europe and no European eels to North America from the sea around Bermuda.

Now, it was still a mystery where the Japanese eels laid their eggs. However, very recently, Japanese researchers have confirmed that it is around Guam. In May 2009, they caught 31 eggs of eels in the West Mariana oceanic ridge near Guam island some 2200 km south of Japan at a depth about 200 meters of the South Pacific Ocean. A gene analysis confirmed that they were eggs of the Japanese eels.

- A juvenile fish of the eel is called an elver weighing 0.2 grams.

- Japan harvested elvers (for fish breeding) in a yearly total weight of 200 tons at coves and river estuaries in 1960's.

- A grown-up eels weighs about 250 grams.

- Japan harvested in a yearly total of 2500 tons of grown-up eels in 1960's.

- One female eel lays one million to five million eggs.

From these data, 1 billion elvers and 10 million grown-up eels were captured every year in 1960's when rich harvests were observed. But, if one female eel laid 2.5 million eggs, only 404 female eels were needed for all the elvers and grown-up eels that were taken in Japan.

However, the probability of elvers might be one in 10,000. So then, it needed 404 million female eels only for all the elvers and grown-up eels that were captured in Japan.

But, how can eels sustain their reproduction while more than one billion individuals were taken in Japan which never returned to the spawning region around Guam? As a matter of fact, harvests of elvers and grown-up eels have drastically fallen in these decades.

In the above figure, the green graph stands for catches of elvers; the orange stands for that of grown-up eels.

Anyway, the above figure proves that eels returning from Japan to the spawning region around Guam have contributed in a large proportion to propagation of eels. So, the enigma remains: how can they return to their birth place in the South Pacific Ocean 2200 kilometers far from the Japanese Archipelago?

But, the answer might be in timing of elvers reaching Japan and grown-up eels swim down rivers to the Pacific Ocean. When elvers are flowing to Japan in autumn catching the Kurosio Current (Black Stream), grown-up eels start to return to the spawning sea area in the South Pacific Ocean.

Accordingly, they should meet one another in the sea around Japan. All the grown-ups have to do is just take a course on which they meet elvers coming one after another, riding on the tide or current around Japan. In a path under the ocean, two streams are passing each other: one for elvers to Japan and another for grown-up eels to the Mariana oceanic ridge. So, the grown-up eels do not take a straight line from Japan to the spawning site but just trace the greatly warped Kurosio Current backward from the mainland Japan to Okinawa and Taiwan and then to north of the Philippines and to Guam. This is my answer to the enigma of centuries.

(The above figure indicates that grown-up eels return to the South Pacific Ocean between September and February while elvers come up to the Japanese Archipelago between December and March.

Finally eels might be going extinct.  The amount of elvers as natural resources is so sharply decreasing in Japan, North America, and Europe.  The above graphs show change in the amount.  So, complete cultivation of eels, namely from eggs to grownups through elvers, are actively pursued in Japan.

Yet Japanese scientists and researchers are making full efforts to cultivate eels from eggs to grown-ups through elvers in an aquarium.  They found that young elvers eat eggs of spiny dogfish. So, on a study base, they have achieved complete cultivation from eggs to grownups.  But an aquarium must be kept clean and other cares are needed.  It requires big costs.  It takes $1000 or so to grow one eel.

Japan succeeds in world's first complete cultivation of eels
Kyodo News        Saturday, April 10, 2010
A government research organization has succeeded in breeding second-generation cultivated eels for the first time in the world by using sperm and eggs collected from those artificially raised from eggs, it said Thursday.

The achievement by the Fisheries Research Agency in Yokohama could be the first step toward securing eel resources, following a 90 percent plunge in catches over the last 30 years.
The current cultivation system requires catching glass eels, or juvenile eels, and raising them, but a branch of the research agency succeeded in raising glass eels from artificially bred larval fish in 2002, also for the first time in the world.
After these glass eels became 45 cm to 70 cm long, the agency gave them hormones to stimulate sexual maturation to extract sperm and eggs earlier this year, and succeeded in getting some 250,000 fertile eggs on March 26 through artificial insemination.
Some of them hatched the following day and are now growing thanks to feedings by the researchers since April 2, according to the organization.
The development of the full cultivation of eels could help protect natural eel resources and increase the success rate of artificial breeding by using eels that are more adapted to the artificial environment, the researchers said.

Next Monday on July 18 is a public holiday in Japan.

On the other hand, the final of the Female World Cup Soccer, namely Japan vs. the U.S., is to start about 3 a.m. of Monday, Japan Time.

So, this Sunday night, everyone in Japan is going to keep vigil and watch a live broadcasting of the match from Frankfurt, Germany.

By the way, there is one interesting report on this sport:

In June 2011 Iran forfeited an Olympic qualification match in Jordan, after trying to take to the field in hijabs and full body suits. FIFA awarded a default 3–0 win to Jordan, explaining that the Iranian kits were "an infringement of the Laws of the Game", due to safety concerns.[9] The decision provoked strong criticism from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad[10] while Iranian officials alleged that the actions of the Bahraini match delegate had been politically motivated.
