CHAPTER II: The Rich with More Wealth Cause Stagnation

T: Total consumption of a nation
W: Total wealth in a nation
S: A ratio of the rich's wealth in total wealth of a nation
1%: A ratio of money used by a rich man for his consumption to all the money he has
99%: A ratio of money used by a poor man for his consumption to all the money he has

T = 0.01 x W x S + 0.99 x W x (1-S)
= 0.01WS + 0.99W -0.99WS
= 0.99W – 0.98WS
= W x (0.99 – 0.98 x S)

If W, namely total wealth in a nation, is almost constant:

A poor man has to use 99% of money he has to buy foods and other essential products for his living, whereas a rich man may use only 1% of money he has to buy foods and other essential products for his living.

Accordingly, the more total wealth in a nations is possessed by the rich, the less the total consumption of the nation will be.

In Japan, W, namely GDP and other domestic assets, has been almost constant in these 15 years but the ratio of wealth taken by the rich has increased, so that total consumption has never been boosted. This is another aspect of deflation.

It means that the Japanese Government has to take a measure to increase a share of wealth or money by the non-rich people. The most effective way is to provide money or the government notes free to the poor people. Economists must present a concrete method that has the least negative influence on the yen and the credit of the Japanese government.

Of course, with other factors being minor, an increase in total consumption in a nation will energize business activities; companies will employ more people. Even tax revenue will increase.

Note that the U.S. made W increase so as to keep a high level of total consumption till 2008 September. Specifically, they provided a huge amount of (false) credit to the poor who could not buy their homes with their money at hand, which is called a criminal sub-prime loan mortgage scheme. This (false) credit had an effect of increasing W in the U.S.

CHAPTER III: 1800 Times Larger

When boiled or evaporated, water expands its volume 1800 times larger.

This expansion of volume can be translated into an increase of pressure, a potential for physical work.

It is the British Industrial Revolution that enabled the practical application of this law.

However, in order to build a system to use this 1800-time expansion power of "water," they needed coal and iron in addition to a certain level of science (Newton preceded the Revolution) and a freedom of spirit from the Vatican.

Christ Jesus said that faith would be multiplied 30 times and 60 times before further 100 times if one man has fulfilled a holy mission.

Anyway, the British got 1800 times more power than other nations. So, continental Europeans followed suit; Americans followed suit; and Japanese followed suit all successfully, but no other races and nations in Asia and Africa could due to a lack of appropriate uniqueness in terms of an underlying level of culture, spirit, and religion.

But, in Japan, during the Tokugawa samurai period before the Meiji Imperial Restoration in 1868, some samurai scholars were studying European mathematics and science almost at the same level of Newton, since the samurai regime permitted import of some Western books, though limited, from the Netherlands especially except religious or Christian ones. (Tokugawa closed the country to have the Vatican influences kept off.) It added another favorable factor for the success of launching of the Japan's modernization in the late 19th century.

In 1674 Seki published Hatsubi Sampo in which he solved fifteen problems which had been posed four years earlier. The work is remarkable for the careful analysis of the problems which Seki made and this certainly was one of the reasons for his great success as a teacher.

Seki anticipated many of the discoveries of Western mathematics.
Seki was the first person to study determinants in 1683. Ten years later Leibniz, independently, used determinants to solve simultaneous equations although Seki's version was the more general.

Seki also discovered Bernoulli numbers before Jacob Bernoulli. He studied equations treating both positive and negative roots but had no concept of complex numbers. He wrote on magic squares, again in his work of 1683, having studied a Chinese work by Yank Hui on the topic in 1661. This was the first treatment of the topic in Japan.

In 1685, he solved the cubic equation 30 + 14x - 5x^2 - x^3 = 0 using the same method as Horner a hundred years later.

He discovered the Newton or Newton-Raphson method for solving equations and also had a version of the Newton interpolation formula.

Among other problems studied by Seki were Diophantine equations. For example, in 1683, he considered integer solutions of ax - by = 1 where a, b are integers.

Secrecy surrounded the schools in Japan so it is hard to determine the contributions made by Seki, but he is also credited with major discoveries in the calculus which he passed on to his pupils.

http://www.gap-system.org/~history/Biographies/Seki.html

(This posting happens to be the 1689th, according to the blog program record.)

So, it was not so easy to carry out the Industrial Revolution outside the European/Christian/Judaist domain in the late 19th century.

The numbers of Nobel Prize (Physics, Chemistry, and Medicine) winners in Asia.
1. Japan...14
2. Israel...2
2. Taiwan...2
3. India...1
3. Pakistan...1

(China and South Korea are yet to be glorified.)

So, it is not so easy to carry out the Industrial Revolution outside the European/Christian/Judaist domain since the late 19th century, as you need 1800 times larger efforts in Asia.

Now the NHK TV channel has announced the new year.

Japan is the first country to be blessed with the coming of a new year, every year.

It is now at 00:04 a.m. of Janauary 1, 2011, around Tokyo.

Incidentally, South Korea has no time difference from Japan; East Australia is one hour advanced, honestly.

Anyway, a Happy New Year!

A Very Happy New Year, if you are poorer than I!

Of course, a very, very happy new year to those who are chosen by the Lord God Almighty.

CHAPTER I: Modern History of Global Economy

As you know, everything modern started with the British Industrial Revolution.

It is not industrial revolution in America, the Islamic world, India, or China.

But, the industrial revolution was made possible since England separated from the Vatican in the 16th century, though it was originally for a political reason.

Then, America could develop its potential to be the economic and military superpower in future, since it separated from England in the 18th century, though it was originally for a political reason.

Separately, as old as in the 9th century, Japan separated from China as an exceptional case in East Asia under the strong influence of the classic Chinese Civilization, though it was originally for a political reason.

(The Shintoism of Japan is a symbol of this separation. )

In each case, the separation from the former superior power eventually led to emergence of unique spiritual characteristics in England, America, and Japan, which became a decisive prior condition of their future industrial and economic revolution.

On the other hand, any nations in the Islamic world could not realize separation from the conventional power of Islam; any sub-nations in India could not realize separation from the conventional power of Hinduism. Therefore, no other Japan could emerge in the Islamic world and the Hindu world.

Of course, the Soviet Union did another separation from the Vatican but only failed.

But, why have some other non-European/non-Christina nations achieved great economic success recently? Could they be regarded as following the success of Japan? Will Taiwan, Korea, China, and India admit that they owe their success to Japan, honestly?

Anyway, the truth is shown in the above figure; The Great Three Heroes of England, America, and Japan.

All the others are a kind of derivatives from the success of the Great Three, if extremely put.

The Vatican could not allow for the industrial revolution and development of the U.S.

Islam could not allow for successful introduction of fruits of European economic success and produce another Japan.

Hinduism could not allow for successful introduction of fruits of European economic success and produce another Japan.

China could not, by itself, leverage fruits of European economic success and become another Japan; it has needed a great amount of support and aid directly from Japan after WWII, like Taiwan and Korea.

Anyway, now you know why you have to accept the Anglo-Saxon style of thinking in order to economically success. But, the value regime embedded in the Anglo-Saxon style of thinking contradicts Islam and Hinduism essentially, though it is a little closer to the traditional Chinese secularism.

And, you must understand why some Anglo-Saxons sometimes gravely hate Japanese who have succeeded without becoming a kind of Anglo-Saxons in the modern history.

From a religious pint of view, the God set Japan (but not China) at the Far East so as to stop arrogance of Europeans, Christians, and Anglo-Saxons. Implication of this great scheme of the God is enormous.

Optimum Distribution of Wealth and Faith

How wonderful it is for you to survive 2010 into 2011!

How wonderful it is for your neighbors to survive 2010 into 2011!

CHAPTER I: Quest for Optimum Economy and GDP

The criteria to judge a degree of optimality is of course how many people in a nation feel happiness.

If 100% of the population feel happy, the economy they are engaged in is quite optimum.

If only one very super-rich person feels happy, the economy they are engaged in is not optimum at all.

This optimality might be achieved by making economy grow or shrink, depending on an initial state of the economy in question.

Yet, you may wonder how much happiness is assumed here. And, the more one makes money, the more he or she wants to make money? Should any theory get based on such a subjective criterion?

Indeed, money can buy you finite happiness, and love can make you infinitely happy.

Anyway, my suggestion is to realize an optimum state in each of T1, T2, T3, and T4 elements and in total of those elements:

G: Economic growth
T1: Contribution from the tire-1 elements
T2: Contribution from the tire-2 elements
T3: Contribution from the tire-3 elements
T4: Contribution from the tire-4 elements

G = T1 + T2 + T3 + T4

= T1 (consumers/communities/nature) + T2 (national finance/regulations/international competition) + T3 (global & domestic competition/technological innovation) + T4 (central bank operations/commercial finance)

Note: T1 > T2 > T3 > T4, in terms of effect on reality of economy. And, the total effects of T1 + T2 + T3 must normally account for 99%, since the Great Depression is an even that happen once a century. T4 is fractional, in this context, which cannot exceed 10%.

But, why is optimization important?

If economics teaches that an optimum state of a man is being super rich, every one would try to be super rich, making others poor, which is the easiest way to achieve the goal.

If economics teaches that an optimum state of a man is being richer, every one would try to be richer, making others a little poor, which is the easiest way to achieve the goal.

If economics teaches that an optimum state of a man is being as rich as others, every one would try to be as rich as others, making others not richer than himself or herself, which is the easiest way to achieve the goal.

If economics teaches that an optimum state of a man is being poor, every one would try to be poor, making others also poor, which is the easiest way to achieve the goal.

But, the best is, according to Christ Jesus, making others as happy as you are.

Before entering Kingdom of God, mankind would probably like to pass an era of optimization after the era of greedy maximization.

Check some:

In economics, utility is a measure of relative satisfaction. Given this measure, one may speak meaningfully of increasing or decreasing utility, and thereby explain economic behavior in terms of attempts to increase one's utility. Utility is often modeled to be affected by consumption of various goods and services, possession of wealth and spending of leisure time.

The doctrine of utilitarianism saw the maximization of utility as a moral criterion for the organization of society. According to utilitarians, such as Jeremy Bentham (1748–1832) and John Stuart Mill (1806–1876), society should aim to maximize the total utility of individuals, aiming for "the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utility

Taking into financial desire of every one, introducing the paradigm of optimization is important as a means to prevent the gap between the rich and the poor further getting wider. If you look at the current situation of accumulation of wealth in the hands of limited people, you might further understand the need to adopt this paradigm of optimality especially in the democratic and free-market-based world.

NEW YORK, June 10, 2010—Global wealth staged a remarkable comeback in 2009, increasing by 11.5 percent to $111.5 trillion, just short of the year-end peak set in 2007. But the rebound in wealth should not be seen as a return to business as usual—client trust and wealth manager performance are still lower than they were before the global economic crisis, according to a new study by The Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

North America posted the largest absolute gain in wealth at $4.6 trillion (15 percent), but the largest percentage gain—and the second largest in absolute terms—occurred in Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan), where wealth increased by 22 percent, or $3.1 trillion. That was nearly double the global rate.

North America accounted for about 40 percent of the $11.5 trillion increase in global wealth in 2009. Its wealth increased to $35.1 trillion.

The number of millionaire households rose by about 14 percent in 2009, to 11.2 million—about where it stood at the end of 2007.

The United States had by far the most millionaire households (4.7 million) followed by Japan, China, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

http://www.bcg.com/media/PressReleaseDetails.aspx?id=tcm:12-49877

As there are about 110 million households in the U.S., only 4% of them are die-hard millionaire families. So, very happy people account for 4%, happy people for 40%, and non-happy people 56% of the whole American population. Is this ratio optimal?

CHAPTER II: Absolute Deity

Judaism became a religion no more restricted by a tribe, a territory, or a temple when Hebrew prophets started to deliver words of the God.

But, they thought they had to suffer due to their sins before they were blessed by the God.

It is very reasonable, since the Hebrew people lost wars and thus their territory, their superiority as a tribe, and the great temple in Jerusalem. Their God must have been able to work on them who had nothing but the minds.

This is a great situation, since the concept of absolute deity emerged among Hebrews, since they were between the West and the East in this context.

Yet, I have a feeling the world is still divided by the Euphrates.

The New Year's Day is so sacred that we cannot perfectly celebrate it with our limited faith; so, the New Year's Eve is the time for us to earn last points.

So, what would you do on December 31 to save the world, even if you are busy saving yourself?

Anyway, as this blog is intended to contribute to spread of the holy words, I will refer to some prophecy:

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

http://eereporter.blogspot.com/2010/12/render-to-caesar-things-that-are.html

CHAPTER I: Environment, China, and Globalization

They have become blind to other factors than money, interest rates, and financial figures.

Accordingly, they cannot understand why Japanese economy has suffered 20-years long deflation since 1990.

It is far beyond potential of the central bank that can do at most manipulate interest rates or provide funds to banks.

The central bank cannot become another Microsoft, HP, Intel, Apple, Google, GM, Toyota, Honda, Sony, Panasonic, or Mitsubishi.

All the central bank can do is manipulate interest rates or provide funds to banks.

And, all the Nobel-Prize class economists of America have been simply arguing what the Bank of Japan did and did not while manipulating interest rates and providing funds to banks.

They look like herds of fools that are taken away wisdom from.

It is the fourth tire that the central bank and commercial banks are situated.

At the first level is consumers; at the second is the government; and at the third are businesses.

Arguing matters related to the central bank and commercial banks needs only a limited talent only suitable for economics, crooked or honest.

Arguing matters related to businesses need a talent suitable for specific understanding of business operations as a source of increasing material wealth in society.

Arguing matters related to the government needs a wider talent suitable for general understanding of multiple-facets of functionality of a nation and complicated interactions on the international stage.

Arguing matters related to consumers needs a wider and deeper talent for general and detailed understanding of culture, traditions, history, value judgement, religion, and justice alive among people.

That is why I have focused on the environmental factor and the China factor in discussing the Japanese economy in the 20-years long deflation.

G: Economic growth
T1: Contribution from the tire-1 elements
T2: Contribution from the tire-2 elements
T3: Contribution from the tire-3 elements
T4: Contribution from the tire-4 elements

G = T1 + T2 + T3 + T4

= T1 (consumers/communities/nature) + T2 (national finance/regulations/international competition) + T3 (global business competition/technological innovation) + T4 (central bank operations/commercial finance)

Note: T1 > T2 > T3 > T4, in terms of effect on reality of economy. And, the total effects of T1 + T2 + T3 must normally account for 99%, since the Great Depression is an even that happen once a century. T4 is fractional, in this context, which cannot exceed 10%.

As for Japan, since 1990's, its governmental agencies, businesses, and taxpayers started to face three challenges; the need for preservation of quality of the nature and society, the need for changing the national structure to cope with Anglo-Saxon triggered globalization after the Cold War, and the need to leverage cheap Chinese labor forces for survival of businesses.

As a result, China has experienced a steep economic growth over 20 years and Japan has undergone deflation for 20 years.

They are the two faces of one coin on the head and the tail.

But, unbelievably all the Nobel-Prize class economists of America, when discussing the deflation of Japan, have been simply arguing what the Bank of Japan did and did not while manipulating interest rates and providing funds to banks. And, they conclude that the Bank of Japan and the Japanese people are all fools.

But, no Americans working in Microsoft, HP, Intel, Apple, Google, or GM think that Toyota, Honda, Sony, Panasonic, and Mitsubishi are all fools. They respect the Bank of Japan and the Japanese people.

Now you know why the 9/11 Terror occurred in 2001 and the 9/15 Lehman Shock occurred in 2008, all in America. It is because all the Nobel-Prize class economists of America are fools, since they cannot understand that there cannot be such fools in this world as they suppose the Bank of Japan and the Japanese people to be, from a logical and theoretical point of view without mentioning commonsense.

So, remember three T1, T2, and T3 factors: Environment, China, and Globalization

And, the Chinese rise in economy has almost nothing to do with the T4 tire elements but with a large scale of infusion of funds and technologies from Japan over 20 years, which belong to T1, T2, and T3.

(In a conventional theory,
g = s/v + n + t

g: an economic growth rate
s: a saving rate
v: a capital coefficient, i.e. an amount of capital needed for producing a unit of output
n: a growth rate of the population
t: an effect of technological advancement)

CHAPTER II: Japan's Population and GDP

The real GDP of Japan has fallen more sharply than that of the U.S.

Indeed, the population in productive ages of Japan has been fallen without a sign of recovery, while the U.S. is achieving a more dynamic and V-shaped recovery.

Truly, the population and the nominal GDP of Japan seems to have been saturated in these years.

But, is this state of Japan a cause or a result?

Should Japan increase population so as to produce and manufacture industrial products as much as enough to take away the need of world consumers for Chinese factories and plants?

Such a mad situation would surely destroy the nature and environment of Japan and the order and moral in the Japanese society.

As I once wrote, if all the population living in the west of the Mississippi River are forced to live in the California state while maintaining their current industrial level, they would surely destroy the nature and break the social order.

In order to avoid such a mad situation, Japan has had to transfer part of its production capacity to China, which is the real cause of the lost decade of Japan and the 20-years deflation of Japan.

One homeless man in Tokyo has his own blog since 2005.

I sometimes check his blog; his last posting is on December 23, 2010.

He will be one of the first men to see God in Tokyo in future or soon, if any.

I also routinely check some other blogs written by Japanese.

One of the blogs I miss is the one posted by an old man who had fled from the Korean Peninsula to Japan in the wake of the surrender of the Imperial Military in August 1945. The old man wrote many difficult experiences he had suffered as a child of a family running away from the old territory of the Empire to Japan proper. But, update of this blog was stopped since last summer.

In his last posting, he wrote a scene in Korea where Koreans were giving a certain Japanese a thrashing while many Japanese, namely refugees at the time, were surrounding the Koreans and the Japanese. The Koreans were requesting an apology from the unlucky Japanese, shouting "Know my grudge of 40 years!" Yet, the old Japanese blogger was compassionate toward Koreans in general, since he can understand their grudge generated under the 40-year occupation of Korea by the Empire.

So, blog serves some Japanese, though bloggers cannot know who read his sentences in general.

Yet, Christ Jesus must know who have ever read the Bible to follow His words.

So, those who do not read EEE-Repoter might be against the EEE Reporter, in a certain context, while EEE-Reporter is with the words of Christ Jesus.

"will glorify it again"

The Space...
From the Tokyo Station to...
The Imperial Palace...
The 400-years political center of Japan, since the Palace was formerly the Edo Castle of the Tokugawa samurai-shogun till 1868, one of the most important year in the Japanese history like 1865 in the American history.

Three To the New Year Eve

Everything in a digital device is expressed with a pattern made of 0s and 1s.

Any part of a picture or a sound can be numerically expressed such as a color (R: 128, G: 256, B: 512) or a wave (1024Hz, -2.056 V). And any decimal number can be expressed in a binary expression using "0" and "1" only, since 128 = "10000000."

So, any picture and sound can be put in a memory of a digital device converted into a pattern consisting of "0" and "1" only. The binary value "0" can be handled as 0 volts and "1" as 5 volts.

Nowadays, a digital still camera has replaced an analogue film camera; a compact optical disk has replaced an analogue phonograph record.

A digital camera with 10 million pixels of today provides a picture as fine as or better than an analogue film camera sold at 100,000 yen ($1,170) ten years ago.

Accordingly, an analogue device has lost many merits over a digital or electronic device along with advancement of electronics and a data processing (computer) technology.

But, a digital device needs electricity to function. An electronic device needs electric power to show a picture or play music. And use of electricity releases energy to the environment in the form of heat.

So, more than CO2, digital devices on the earth might be heating the atmosphere, though it is unknown how much temperature would rise if one iPhone or a cellular phone of any type is sold and used.

In nature, as an atom and a molecule is a kind of digital entity, an approach of digitization is reasonable in the technological domain, though.

In economy, of course, it is digital since one yen or one dollar is the minimal gap between any two values. And nobody has ever tried to establish an analogue monetary system, since even the largest digit needs only nine numbers of 1 to 9, implying integers are digital.

Yet, no digital romance would be accepted by mankind, since it is for the robotic world.

CHAPTER I: Real Estate of Japanese Government

As of 2009 or so, the Ministry of Finance of Japan stated that the Japanese Government has administrative assets worth 18 trillion yen ($200 billion if 1$ = 90 yen) excluding roads, dams, and other civil engineering structures.

Specifically, the Japanese Government has lands worth 14 trillion yen and buildings worth 4 trillion yen as shown in the specifics below.

The left-hand side column indicates the Lower House, the Upper House, the Supreme Court, and other Ministries and Agencies. The second and the third columns indicate the area and the value of lands owned by a Ministry/Agency specified in the first column. The fourth and the fifth are of buildings. The unit of value is 100 million yen ($1.1 million).

In addition, the Government virtually hires and assigns 20,000 officials to management of these lands and buildings, probably, costing 200 billion yen ($2.2 billion) or so.

In other word, the Japanese Government is one of the largest real estate businesses in the world.

So, everybody would wonder whether or not there is a way for the Government to leverage this real estate to improve a financial state.

And, you would wonder what if the Chinese Communist Government should start to introduce a private ground system, though every piece of the land in China is now owned by the Chinese Communist Government.

(Note: The Imperial Palace is officially assessed to be 215 billion yen or $2.4 billion.

However, the figure is based on a rate of 150,000 yen per square meter. Yet, it is too cheap. With a commercial rate of 10 million yen per square meter, the land price of the Imperial Palace reaches 14 trillion yen [$156 billion] as its are is 1.42 million square meters. Accordingly, the total national real estate has more value than the above stated figure of 18 trillion yen [$200 billion]).

CHAPTER II: Cancellation of Debts

The best solution is cancellation of debts.

It is well known that Christ Jesus ordered his disciples to lend money and any other things to those who needed or wanted from them without requesting a promise of return.

New economics should focus on significance of cancellation of debts but not interest rate.

It is necessary to formulate a theory that a kind of institutional cancellation of debts is as effective as a hedge or disposal of collateral.

The Kan Cabinet of Japan is still in a crisis.

They are going to drive the leader of anti-Kan factions Mr. Ichiro Ozawa out of the ruling DPJ.

No matter how sinful, in terms of political funds and activities, lawmaker Mr. Ozawa is, it is not appropriate for the headquarters of the Japanese Government to tackle one Lower-House member with so much energy and time.

From a political point of view, Mr. Ozawa is neither a socialist nor a communist, like Former Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama. So, it is a bad sign if socialistic politicians around P.M. Mr. Kan should find merit in purging essentially conservative Mr. Ozawa for any political reason.

On the other hand, Mr. Ozawa has come to face the most difficult situation in his profession since he was first elected as a national lawmaker in 1969...

And then, the best politician of 2010 in Japan? It is of course Former Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, since he spontaneously left the seat of the Japanese premiership this June.

And, the worst politician of 2010 in Japan? It is of course Former Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, since he spontaneously helped Mr. Ichiro Ozawa challenge P.M. Mr. Kan to be new P.M. this September.

Don't you think so?

(The best politician of 2010 in the world is probably Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, prime minister of Norway.)

Joh 12:28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

"Whose voice then shook the earth"

Tokyo...
Station...
Now under revamp...Though it was 1590 that samurai lord Tokugawa Ieyasu came to this place so as to start the real development and prosperity of Tokyo (Edo).

China Effect of 2010

First of all, no Japanese politicians have ever asked me to defend national interest of Japan by writing some about the Senkaku Islands, the Russia-occupied Northern Territory, or any kind of Chinese lies in this blog.

It is all my initiative, in order for Japan not to be looked down on.

The U.S. sent troops to Iraq and Afghanistan and organized the G20 Summit so as not to be looked down on by the world in the wake of the 9/11 Terror of 2001 and the Wall Street Crisis of 2008.

Compared with the scale of the American pride, this is a very humble operation to defend Japan's honor and interest.

As today the Chinese Ambassador to Tokyo made a TV appearance speaking Japanese and appealing to Japanese audiences for mutual prosperity, I will make it sure that it is not my intention to harm any part of Chinese interest and honor. But, truth must prevail.

CHAPTER I: China Destroyed the DPJ

Yesterday, votes were cast in a city of Tokyo Prefecture to elect city council members. The result is as follows:

--...Candidates...-...Elected...-...Votes
DPJ:...-...7...--...3...--...9,442
LDP:...-...7...--...6...--...14,162
Others...-...20...--...19...--...40,670

The ruling DPJ led by Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan failed against the conservative opposition LDP led by Mr. Sadakazu Tanigaki. The city, Nishi-Tokyo-City, has been regarded as one of major support bases for Mr. Kan.

The ratio of support between the two major parties in Japan is now 2 to 3 in favor of the genuinely pro-American conservative LDP.

Today's Sankei Shimbun newspaper reported results from the latest opinion poll. The percentages of those who answered to vote in favor of the two parties in the next national election are as follows:

DPJ:...16.4%
LDP:...27.0%

(Note: As there are several parties active at a national level in Japan, the support rate of 25% in an opinion poll is regarded as large enough to win seats requested for a key ruling party or a major opposition party in the parliament.)

This ratio is also 2 to 3 in favor of the LDP that led Japan for half a century till the last fall, promoting free market and capitalism-based democracy.

But, in the last general election conducted on August 30, 2009, the DPJ garnered 308 seats and the LDP only 119. The ratio was more than 5 to 2, though the numbers of votes in proportional-representation constituencies are 29,844,799 and 18,810,217, namely more than 3 to 2.

In summary, the trend has changed. Just like the socialistic DPJ won overwhelmingly in the 30-8-2009 election with the voting ratio of more than 3 to 2, the conservative LDP is now expected to win the next general election in a ratio of 3 to 2 against the presently ruling DPJ. It will be anyway a clear victory.

But, what has caused this turnover in the Japanese politics? It is the arrogant attitude of the Chinese Communist Government concerning the Senkaku clash that occurred this September. The Chinese Communist Government acted so arrogantly while a Chinese fishing boat was captured and its skipper was arrested by Japan Coast Guard that was protecting Japan's Senkaku Islands. And, the Kan Cabinet made some grave concession skipping a legitimate legal process as if succumbing to the political pressure from China, if it was intended to save face of Beijing. Japanese voters felt that the ruling party DPJ is not strong to China and not faithful to Japan.

What is worse, the Kan Cabinet did not strongly protest at the Russian President visiting Japanese Etorofu and Kunashiri islands situated between the Okhotsk Sea and the Northwest Pacific Ocean, though Russia continues to illegally occupy them after WWII even neglecting the protest from the U.S.

Though P.M. Mr. Kan has decided to reduce a corporate tax rate by 5%, his fiscal 2011 budget bill swelled up to 92.4 trillion yen ($1 trillion) without indicating a clear path for revamping of the national finance and economy.

Yet, the major factor that contributes to this drastic decline of the DPJ is their secret promise to Beijing that the Senkaku video showing violent actions of the Chinese illegal shipping boat will not be disclosed to the Japanese public, though the evidence video has been already leaked by an officer of the Japan Coast Guard. The Kan Cabinet and China are afraid of expected anger of the Japanese people at unlawful acts of Chinese not only around the Senkaku Islands, Okinawa Prefecture, but also in general.

(In a similar context, China has also almost destroyed the popularity of American Democrats in the 2010 Midterm election.)

CHAPTER II: 10 Prominent Chinese Activists Jailed

China is very different from Japan and the U.S. First of all, types of crimes never or rarely found in both the advanced countries are often common in China. And, justice and laws are seldom applied to true culprits but in an inverted manner to those against those criminals.

Liu Xiaobo
Age: 54

Activist career: A distinguished professor and writer, Liu has been politically active since 1989 during the Tiananmen Square protests, where he notably helped persuade students to return home before soldiers forcibly cleared the area. For his participation in the demonstrations, Liu served 19 months in jail.
...
Current status: Serving an 11-year prison sentence in Liaoning province. Liu Xiaobo will be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on Dec. 10, 2010.

Tian Xi
Age: 23

Activist Career: In 1996,when he was 9 years old, Tian Xi was in an accident that left him with a mild concussion and requiring a blood transfusion. That transfusion inadvertently gave him HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
...
When a meeting with the director of the hospital where he believes he contracted the virus became heated, Tian flew into a rage and smashed a computer, fax machine and other office supplies.
The next day Tian was detained and later formally charged with "intentionally damaging property."

Current status: Tian Xi is still detained. His case went to trial, and he is currently awaiting a ruling.

Yu Jie
Age: 37

Activist career: A best-selling author who began producing literary works at age 13, Yu Jie is an outspoken critic of China’s Communist Party. His work is banned in China.
...
Since his graduate school years at Beijing University, Yu – a devout Christian – has criticized the Communist Party on religious freedom, the stifling of democracy and other topics.
...
Current status: Since his latest book was published Yu Jie has remained under house arrest in Beijing. His computer, phone and other communication devices have been confiscated.

Feng Zhenghu
Age: 56

Activist career: A onetime economist turned human rights lawyer, writer and blogger, Feng Zhenghu spent three years in prison for “illegal business activities,” but he claims that a book he wrote criticizing Chinese regulations on foreign investment was the real reason for his jailing.
...

Current status: Though never actually formally arrested or detained by Chinese police, upon returning to his home in Shanghai, Feng has found himself subjected to regular government and police surveillance.

Bai Dongping
Age: 47

Activist Career: A longtime member of China’s activist movement, Bai began his activism in 1989 at Tiananmen Square, where he joined an illegal workers' union that supported the student protesters.
...
Current status: Police officials told Yang Dan that her husband would be held in detention for 30 days. The timing of his detention – as well as the rounding up and harassing of other activists – so close to the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony has many speculating that this is a concerted effort by the ruling Communist Party.

Gao Zhisheng
Age: 44

Activist career: A self-taught lawyer, Gao built a Beijing law practice working on behalf of victims of medical malpractice and evicted landowners. His reputation was so great that he was selected by the Ministry of Justice in 2001 as one of “China’s 10 Best Lawyers.”
...

Current status: Gao has not been seen or heard from since April 2010, and the police have refused to give any information about his whereabouts.
In September, 30 members the U.S. Congress signed a letterurging President Barack Obama to push the Chinese government for the release of Gao, as well as Nobel prize winner, Liu Xiaobo.

Wu Yuren
Age: 39

Activist career: A prominent artist in Beijing’s burgeoning art community and a signee of the infamous “Charter 08,” Wu led a group of artists in their resistance against real estate developers trying to take over their studios.
...
Current status: According to his Canadian wife, Karen Patterson, Wu Yuren is in the Chaoyang District Criminal Detention Center. His trial has started, but they are awaiting news of when the next trial date will be.

Zhao Lianhai
Age: 38

Activist Career: Zhao Lianhai’s activism began in September 2008 when he discovered that his 3-year-old son had a kidney stone.

In the following few weeks, Zhao discovered that his son and nearly 300,000 other children in China had in fact been poisoned in one of the biggest food safety scandals to hit the country.
...
Zhao started a website to organize families and to facilitate discussion online about the compensation. He also organized parents to talk to the media about the scandal and to picket courthouses to demand justice.
Censors soon shut down the website, and Zhao found himself under police surveillance.

Current status: Zhao Lianhai is serving his prison term. His wife – who is unemployed – and two children are currently living off donations from supporters.

Cheng Jianping
Age: 46

Activist career: Originally based out of Zhejiang, Cheng began her activism in 2006 after the alleged rape and murder in Hubei of Gao Yingying. Government officials quickly ruled it a suicide and claimed Gao had leapt to her death from the roof of the hotel she worked at.
...
As the government worked to shut down media coverage of the death, Cheng left her job and traveled to Hubei to provide assistance to Gao’s family.
...
She worked as an activist protesting against forced evictions of homeowners by land developers and called attention to the plight of child slavery after 1,500 children were rescued after being enslaved at brick kilns in Shanxi.
...
Ten days later – the day her fiancée says they were planning to be married – authorities arrested Cheng for “disrupting the social order” and summarily convicted her.

Current status: Cheng Jianping is serving a year’s sentence at the Shibali River women’s labor camp in Henan.

Liu Xianbin
Age: 42

Activist career: Liu Xianbin personifies the political dissident who remained in China post-1989 to push for political change from within.
...
Since being released from prison in 2008, Liu has continued his work as an activist.
...
Current status: Liu Xianbin has been in detention since June 28, 2010.

If you go to Shanghai for business or study, you are safe. If you go to Beijing to befriend Chinese elites or sub-elites, you are safe. But, if you start to check a state of observing human rights in China based on your Christian conscience or your moral standard, you will so easily find millions of hidden victims of the Chinese success. You will then find yourself standing on a crossroad: a way for a hero or another for a coward at a corner of Beijing or Shanghai.

It is so since it might really endanger you, if you mention any of the ten people above listed on the street of Shanghai or Beijing.

You are safe shouting "Down with The New York Times" on the street of New York. But, if you shout "Down with the Chinese Communist Party" on the street of Beijing, you will not be safe at all. So, fly to Tokyo and then you can tell anything about China in addition to The New York Times.

(If China says that some old books written 500 years ago describe the Senkaku Islands so that the Islands are theirs, The New York Times must say, "Wait, Japan has been the world best peace-loving country after WWII while helping Chinese economy so much. In addition, Okinawa/Ryukyu people of Japan must have been sailing around the Senkaku Islands in these 2000 years. We have to check Chinese official documents related to the Senkaku Islands as well as their respect for human rights. Oh, what groundless descriptions the both have! China is not an owner of the Senkaku Island and not a conformist of human rights. Besides, the Japanese-Chinese War in 1930's and 1940's started as China first attacked Japanese Marines stationed in Shanghai. We might have caused grave damage to Japanese reputation as we have to democracy-loving people in China! How can we compensate it?" Indeed, China is not a hero fighting an aggressive liar of Japan, but itself an aggressive liar.

As no staff members of The New York Times, probably, cannot read what has been discussing over the Internet in Japan, of course, in Japanese, I will give some clues.

Hundreds of blogs and web sites in Japan are discussing how Japanese businesses of a medium or small size that moved to China were betrayed by Chinese workers, customs, and the Chinese Communist Government.

They stole Japanese technologies and know-hows after inviting Japanese makers into China. They violated industrial and business rights of those Japanese companies. China changes regulations and rules at will. But, when a Japanese company tries to withdraw from China, Chinese authorities force the Japanese management to leave every asset behind in China. Otherwise, Japanese executives of the company would be arrested for the reason of violation of a contract.

So, hundreds of Japanese companies, mostly small and medium-sized enterprises, lost profits and assets in China, because they could not see through a true intention of China inviting Japanese companies so enthusiastically.

It also applies to South Korea. Even Samsung's success is based on transfer of Japanese technologies, Japanese engineers, and Japanese machines for production.

It is estimated that damages Japanese companies suffer due to infringement of intellectual property rights is about $100 billion per year.

But, why has such a situation happened?

One of the reasons is that Chinese are in general all aggressive liars while Japanese are not. Rather, Japanese respect human rights of every Chinese, including those committing crimes in Japan, since Chinese are the No. 1 in terms of the number of foreign criminals in Japan as I once reported.

Anyway, Chinese people celebrate the Lunar New Year or the Chinese New Year, while Japanese celebrate the New Year following the Western calendar.

Now, will The New York Times trust when China says that Japanese do not celebrate the New Year following the right calendar? Chinese are blaming America, too, since America does not use the Chinese calendar, while Chinese are officially Marxists.

Do not trust anything Chinese say, including GDP; this is a lesson those Japanese have learnt who ran away from China leaving their factories and assets in China, surrendering to various types of intimidation.

And, remember that the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake occurred on December 26, 2004, namely 12:26 of 2004. It was followed by the 2008 Sichuan great earthquake and the 2010 Haiti great earthquake.

Heb 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

Heb 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Heb 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

As Viewed Today...since they symbolize power, people, and prosperity, respectively and totally.

"All my quest for spiritual truth has been exhausted; all my endeavors have ended at the invocation "Namu Amida Butsu (I sincerely believe in the teaching of Buddha)," said Japanese sacred one Ippen as his last word in 1289, before he saw eternal light of the Buddhist paradise.

"All my quest for worldly success and happiness has been exhausted; all my endeavors have ended at some assets and titles," most of people will say as their last word even today, before they lose the last light in this material world.

Yet, "All my quest for God has been exhausted; all my endeavors have ended at the shock and awe of God," might I say in the middle of time and space, before I lose myself once and for all under the command of God.

Holy Presents and Hopeful Presents

If an American Santa Claus has presented an i-Phone to an American boy or girl, it is not made in America but made in China.

Yet, in an i-Phone, Japanese components account for 34%, German components 17%, Korean parts 13%, and Chinese ones 3.6%, according to the Wall Street Journal.

So, Santa Claus should present an financial scheme to American consumers and workers that allows for American manufacturing of i-Phone products in America. In order to protect its intellectual property, Japanese component makers will all support production of Apple's devices in America.

If President Mr. Barack Obama can play a role of this Santa Claus, he really deserves another term.

SECTION I: Miracle on Christmas

Of course, I thought, walking last night, whether or not I might encounter a miracle on the Christmas Eve.

Then, the moment I stepped in a hundred-yen shop, my eyes were caught by green fruit readily displayed in cardboard boxes. They were a kind of oranges, looking green and looking like imported from Israel, since each of them had a label indicating "Jaffa."

So, I bought one of them paying 105 yen.

I have never thought anything from Israel could be sold at $1.2 in a 100-yen shop around Tokyo. But, so far, this is one of the direct answers to my thinking about a Xmas gift from Heaven in 2010.

I really wish that this miracle would help you if living outside Israel.

Remember: "Jaffa (*)," "Will," "Sweetie," "Product of Israel," and "P.Q"

(No Chinese allowed to infringe the right of production and sale of fruit "Jaffa.")

SECTION II: Russian Thief at a Fire?

The Russian President announced that Russia would not return to Japan the four islands annexed to Japan's Hokkaido Island.

http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/x1konno/33994937.html

Russia has not any right to take those islands as their own any more than the U.S. has any right on Okinawa Island though they occupied those Japanese territories after WWII ended.

On August 18, 1945
, the Soviet Union started to invade the Kurile Islands situated between the Sea of Okhotsk and the Pacific Ocean, though the Empire of Japan surrendered on August 15, 1945, accepting the Potsdam Declaration, after the Hiroshima/Nagasaki atomic (nuclear) bomb attacks by the U.S. In this invasion, Soviet troops cruelly fired at Japanese soldiers remaining there about to disarm themselves. So, a battle after WWII erupted in the Norther Kurile Islands, which ended on August 21 leaving 600 soldiers killed and wounded on the Japanese side and 3,000 on the invading USSR side.

On August 26, 1945, the Soviet troops started to invade the Southern Kurile Islands; on September 5, they completed occupation of Etorofu and Kunashiri, which belong to the Southern Kurile Islands, as well as the independent Habomai Islands and Shikotoan Island.

In November 1946, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan submitted to the General Headquarters of the Allied Forces a document titled "Minor Islands Adjacent to Japan Proper. Part I. The Kurile Islands, the Habomais and Shikotan."

In the document, two major islands among four islands the Soviet Union unlawfully occupied since the end of WWII are described as part of the Southern Kurile Islands. So, some Japanese think that this document could be abused by Russia, since the 1951 San Francisco Peace Treaty specifies as follows:
Article 2
(c) Japan renounces all right, title and claim to the Kurile Islands, and to that portion of Sakhalin and the islands adjacent to it over which Japan acquired sovereignty as a consequence of the Treaty of Portsmouth of 5 September 1905.

But, note that the Soviet Union did not sign this Treaty that fixed the conditions under which Japan's independence after WWII was authorized by the U.S. and other members of the Allies who signed it.

However, the document at issue prepared by the Japanese Government in 1946 clearly showed the grave concerns and distinction of the Japanese Government before concluding the Treaty in 1951 about the two big islands and two other small islands off Hokkaido.

http://www.ne.jp/asahi/cccp/camera/HoppouRyoudo/HoppouShiryou/S1/194611GaumushouChousho.htm

To understand the term "Minor" in the above document, the 1945 Potsdam Declaration should be referred to:
(8) The terms of the Cairo Declaration shall be carried out and Japanese sovereignty shall be limited to the islands of Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Shikoku and such minor islands as we determine.

According to the 1951 Treaty, Japan renounced all right, title and claim to the Kurile Islands, so that the Islands were moved in the hand of the Allies but not of the Soviet Union alone.

The sequence expected after the conclusion of the Treaty is that the Allies, namely the U.S. and the USSR, were to enter negotiations as to how to deal with the Kurile Islands. But, as the GHQ of the Allied Forces had received the above 1946 document issued by the Japanese Government, the distinction between the Northern and Southern Kurile Islands must have been taken into consideration especially by the U.S. Accordingly, taking notice of Japan's claim, the U.S. must have allowed the Soviet Union to occupy only the Northern Kurile Islands.

As a matter of fact, though it was after the start of the Cold War, the U.S. Government, by issuing official memorandum on September 7, 1956, supports Japan's claim that the Southern Kurile Islands belong to Japan despite the Article 2 of the San Francisco Peace Treaty which forces Japan to abandon the Kurile Islands. Yet, the Article 2 does not specify which country among the Allies should take the Southern Kurile Islands.

As the Soviet Union did not join this Treaty (though it supported the 1945 Potsdam Declaration), virtually only the U.S. could handle disposal of the whole Kurile Islands, since the Islands are situated only between Japan, the Soviet Union, and the U.S. over the surrounding seas.
Eventually, the U.S. Government supports Japan's claim that the Southern Kurile Islands belong to Japan despite the Article 2 of the San Francisco Peace Treaty which implicitly provides that Japan must give up its territorial right on the Islands if either of the U.S. or the USSR should request it based on the Treaty. As the USSR did not sign the Treaty, it has no right about disposal of the whole Kurile Islands. Its occupation to date has no grounds in international treaties concluded after WWII.

In summary,
1) In the 1951 San Francisco Peace Treaty, Japan renounced all right, title and claim to the Kurile Islands.

2) The disposal of the whole Kurile Islands was, from a view of legal theory, committed to the U.S. and the Soviet Union because they are the only two members of the Allies virtually adjacent to the Islands over the sea.

3) However, the Soviet Union did not sign the Treaty, leaving the U.S. as the sole right owner on the disposal of the whole Kurile Islands.

4) Since Japan had informed the U.S. of the distinction between the Northern and Southern Kurile Islands before the 1951 Treaty, the U.S. agreed to Japan's claim by issuing official memorandum on September 7, 1956. It should be also noted that the Cold War already started at the time.

5) This official indication of the standpoint of the U.S. Government about the Souther Kurile Islands fixed the matter legally. The Southern Kurile Islands issue included in the 1951 Treaty was legally settled as the U.S., the sole member concerned in this issue, accepted officially Japan's claim that the Southern Kurile Islands belong to Japan as a historically authentic territory of Japan. As for the Northern Kurile Islands, they are left for negotiations between Japan and the U.S.

6) The Soviet Union however did not terminate its military presence in the Northern and Southern Kurile Islands. Its successor Russia has still kept them, neglecting all the legitimate processes about the Islands after WWII. (As for the Northern Kurile Islands, the U.S. has connived at the Russian military presence so far, but Japan can request the U.S. to make a final decision on the disposal of the Northern Kurile Islands, too.)

So, now you know why Kunashiri and Etorofu Islands of the Southern Kurile Islands belong to Japan, though they were once renounced by Japan and they are surely geographical part of the Kurile Islands.

In addition, the Habomai Islands and Shikotan Island are also unlawfully and illegally occupied by the USSR and Russia since September of 1945, as they are beside Kunashiri Island.

Lastly, some Japanese politicians, in addressing this diplomatic and security issue, has been taking a strategy of claiming that the Southern Kurile Islands are not included in the concept of the Kurile Islands specified in Article 2 (c) of the 1951 San Francisco Peace Treaty. This strategy is however not legitimate. No matter how complicated, they should follow the above stated sequence of the rational claim and explanation.

(If the Soviet Union had signed the 1951 Treaty, the U.S. would have supported Japan's claim in its negotiations with the USSR, since the 1946 document issued by the Japanese Government showed the clear distinction between the Northern and Southern Kurile Islands.

Of course, the U.S. can request Russia also to return the Northern Kurile Islands to Japan as the sole authentic right holder over the Islands based on the 1951 Treaty for fixing the matter about the Japanese-American War between 1941 and 1945. In this case, Japan might transfer some islands of the Northern Kurile Islands to the U.S. so as to return American friendship and cooperation.

As for the status of the U.S. as a party concerned with the Kurile Islands, refer to the Aleutian Islands Campaign where the invading Imperial Army and Navy fought against the American forces.

Blessed be the LORD, who executes righteous deeds, crowning his saints with loving-kindness and mercy. My soul cries out to praise thy name, to sing high praises for thy loving deeds, to proclaim thy faithfulness--of praise of thee there is no end. Near death was I for my sins, and my iniquities have sold me to the grave; but thou didst save me, O LORD, according to thy great mercy, and according to thy many righteous deeds.

If the Dead Sea Scrolls had been found before WWII, would more European Judaists have been saved from atrocity inflicted by Nazi Germany?

Anyway, it is not small-sized diamonds or Jaffa that is the most valuable asset in Israel; it is the Dead Sea Scrolls, though they were found by local Bedouins in 1946.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea_scrolls

Does the discovery mean Heavenly authorization for Judaists' return to Palestine and Jerusalem?

If not, what does it imply?

This is the most valuable question and agenda to all the people, including The New York Times stuff and Harvard professors.

So, now, actually it is already December 26 in Japan.

Yesterday, namely on December 25, I watched a Kurosawa film "Tsubaki Sanjyuro" through a cable TV channel.
