"There came then his brethren and his mother" - Christianity & Religions

Tokyo Suburb Railroad Station

Christianity & Religions

Religion is difficult.

There are thousand of books explaining concepts, creeds, and theories of Buddhism, for example. It is true that that the Buddha did not tell everything written in those books.  Yet it is believed that he told many profound and essential things to his followers.  (In this context the Buddha must have delivered 100 times more words while living than Christ Jesus did.)  Nonetheless, the Buddha did not deliver lengthy words on each occasion that he guided an ordinary person.  One teaching is simple, though he issued thousands of such teachings.  After his death his followers edited and extended the contents of what the Buddha taught them.  As time went by, the following generations of Buddhists built and formulated a great system of the philosophical religion of Buddhism.  Accordingly the religion became so difficult.  You have to be a dedicated expert to comprehend it, always learning it as there are so many books all of which you could not read in your life time.

But the story of Moses is simple: only the Ten Commandments.  The story of Christ Jesus is more simple: just healing the sick, performing some miracles, and addressing teachings so as to promote faith in God.  But after His death and resurrection, hundreds, thousands, and millions of books, documents, and sheets of paper were written by so many followers in various eras to expand the concept of His teaching, spirit, and dignity.

The story of the founder of Islam was also simple: he just relayed what he heard from Allah of His angels.  Yet, those words have stood so much study and application by so many Muslims for almost 1400 years.

Of course, great thinkers of ancient Greece developed various and profound concepts which were partially reflected in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.  And mostly Europeans in these 2000 years extended these concepts in various ways around the Vatican.  To comprehend them all, you need lifelong professional reading and thinking.

Yet ordinary people, namely an overwhelming majority of people, live and die without learning difficult religions or difficult theories of a religion.  However, we should think that the great teaching of the Buddha, Moses, Christ Jesus, and Allah must reach them through various channels.  If an ordinary person has never read a sutra, the Bible and other holy books, or the Koran, the essence of those great teachings must reach him or her through various channels of the whole society of mankind.

So, religion can be easy as much as you like it to be for yourself.  Of course it can be as difficult as you liker it to be for yourself.

***

There is a very difficult point in Christianity.

Moses was not God, which everybody knows.  The Buddha was not God, which everybody knows.  The founder of Islam was not Allah, which everybody knows.  But Christ Jesus was and is God.

It is extremely difficult to understand why so many clever men and wise people in various fields of Europe, Americas, and so on have accepted the assertion that Christ Jesus was and is God.

In Japanese shintoism, a hero, a soldier, or even an ordinary person can be a god after his or her death.  But, it was a very exceptional situation that an emperor was said to be a living god in an extreme era, such as during the war against the U.S. in the 20th century.  Or conversely, a god can take a form of a man or a woman in shinto.  And is the assertion of Christianity on the extent of this Japanese religious paradigm: God became a man, Christ Jesus?

To understand and explain it is very very difficult.  You may say it is not a matter of commonsense or science but of faith.  Yet, I think it not only is a matter of faith but also should be a matter of commonsense and science, since human commonsense and science are products of work of human mind being supported by human spirit and a human soul.

And, I think the most important and greatest secret in the human history over these 2000 years lies in this issue: To understand and explain how Christ Jesus was and is God.

The key to solving this question might be, of course, love, since Christ Jesus simply told to love God with all of your heart and might.

Put simply, we might have to say, first, that that Christ Jesus is God can be understood and explained based on and through love, that is, love to God.  The answer should be in love is always true and real for human beings.

Mar 3:31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
Mar 3:32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
Mar 3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
Mar 3:34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mar 3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

"He must increase, but I must decrease" - Sun Yatsen and a Japanese Naturalist

Tokyo Private Railroads & Tokyo Sky-Tree Tower

Sun Yatsen and a Japanese Naturalist

Sun Yatsen (Son-Bun in Japanese) is the most important figure in the modern Chinese history.
Sun Yat-sen (12 November 1866 – 12 March 1925)[1] was a Chinese revolutionary and president. As the foremost pioneer of Nationalist China, Sun is referred to as the "Father of the Nation" in the Republic of China (ROC), and the "forerunner of democratic revolution" in the People's Republic of China. Sun played an instrumental role in the overthrow of the Qing dynasty during the Xinhai Revolution. Sun was the first provisional president when the Republic of China was founded in 1912 and later co-founded the Kuomintang (KMT), serving as its first leader.[2] Sun was a uniting figure in post-Imperial China, and remains unique among 20th century Chinese politicians for being widely revered amongst the people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Yat-sen
In 1897, Sun Yatsen was in London for some political reasons.  But he frequently visited the library of the British Museum.  There he met a Japanese independent researcher named Kumagusu Minakata.  Then they frequently met and discussed various matters, since Sun Yatsen was also a medical doctor.

During 109 days since the two Asians met for the first time in the academic corner of London till the departure of Sun Yatsen from London, they met more than 26 days.

Afterwards, Kumagusu Minakata returned to Japan to be one of top naturalists in Japan.  He reported many slime molds to the international scientific magazine Nature.  However, he lived in his home town in Wakayama Prefecture 500km west of Tokyo.  Then in 1901 Sun Yatsen came to Japan and further traveled to Wakayama to see Minakata.

Minakata Kumagusu (April 15, 1867 – December 29, 1941) was a Japanese author and naturalist...Minakata Kumagusu, world-renowned Japanese naturalist, came back to Japan in 1900 after 14 years of unique study experience abroad mainly in the U.S. and England...His rising reputation opened the door to friendships with notable figures including Frederick. V. Dickins, registrar of the University of London, as well as people from the British Museum including Sir Robert K. Douglas, director of the Oriental Printed Books section and Charles H. Read, the successor to Franks. He visited the British Museum almost every day...One of the highlights in London was getting to know Sun Yat-sen, father of the Chinese Revolution. Minakata put it in his diary how they hit it off straight away on first acquaintance at the Douglas’s office in the British Museum in March 1897 and quickly developed a friendship through visiting each other and talking till late almost every day. The descriptions, though very brief, reveal the closeness between two friends. Their company lasted only four months until Sun had to leave London for Asia in early July...
Emperor Hirohito, also a biologist, had shown a strong interest in slime molds since he was the Prince Regent. As the Prince, he had read A Monograph of the Slime Molds by Gulielma Lister and told Dr. Hirotaro Hattori of the National Biological Research Institute of his wish to see the specimens. Having learned this interest, Shiro Koaze approached Minakata and his friends from Tokyo University. In November 1926 the team prepared and presented Prince Hirohito with a collection of 90 specimens of 37 genera of Japanese slime molds. It bore the signatures of Koaze as the presenter and Minakata as the selector.
In March 1929, Dr. Hattori secretly visited and requested Minakata to give a lecturer on slime molds to Hirohito, then Emperor, in his future royal visit to the Wakayama region. Minakata telegraphed his acceptance. With no precedent for a commoner giving an imperial lecture, he soon became the center of the public attention and extremely busy preparing specimens. On June 1, 1929, it had been raining since morning. Minakata headed for Kashima Island in a frock coat he had bought in America and kept for years. After taking the Emperor for a walk in the woods on the island, Minakata, while showing specimens, gave a 25-minute lecture, on board the royal ship Nagato, on slime molds and marine life to His Majesty. He also presented the Emperor with gifts including 110 specimens of slime molds kept in empty taffy boxes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minakata_Kumagusu

So, as Mao Tse-tung, Chou En-lai, and Chiang Kaishek were directly associated with Sun Yatsen, the Showa Emperor was directly associated with Kumagusu Minakata.  Indeed just in three steps, even the top leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese National Party could be linked with a Japanese emperor.

And, my conclusion is that the fact that Sun Yatsen respected Kumagusu Minakata proved that the Chinese revolutionary movement after the fall of the Ching Dynasty was based on some reasonable paradigm, since Sun Yatsen could understand the mind of genuine scientists if he could understand the mind of traditional Chinese gangsters, too.

Joh 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
Joh 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
Joh 3:32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
Joh 3:33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

"which was the son of Levi" - An Incident in Iraq

All around Tokyo, though...

An Incident in Iraq

When the Iraqi War ended, an office of the Japanese Government visited Iraq to check the situation.

He saw Iraqi citizens helping themselves.  They collected parts from an electricity power plant destroyed in the war to reassemble them into a handmade generator.  They were tough and unyielding.  But when an American company came to rebuild the power plant, those Iraqi citizens were forbidden to enter the power plant.  Yet, operation by the US company did not go smoothly due to decline in public safety.  Electricity supply was still a big problem.

The Japanese officer also saw local people holding meetings to discuss how to reconstruct their community.  But those devout Iraqi citizens did not have even desks, tables, and chairs.  So, the Japanese officer bought those facilities to provide for them for free.   However it was not an official present from the Japanese Government but a personal gift from the officer as he paid it out of his pocket.

"All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men" - The God of the Moon

Expressways around Tokyo

The God of the Moon

Abraham lived in a major city called Ur of the Sumerian Kingdom in 2000 BC.

In the city Ur they  revered the God of the Moon.  Then Abraham, his father, and other family members moved to Harran, a border city of the Sumerian kingdom where the God of the Moon was also revered.

So, it is natural to think that at least some of the family members of Abraham revered the God of the Moon.  But what was the Sumerian God of the Moon?
Sin or Nanna was the god of the moon in Mesopotamian mythology. Nanna is a Sumerian deity, the son of Enlil and Ninlil, and became identified with Semitic Sin. The two chief seats of Nanna's/Sin's worship were Ur in the south of Mesopotamia and Harran in the north...
Nanna's chief sanctuary at Ur was named E-gish-shir-gal ("house of the great light"). It was at Ur that the role of the En Priestess developed. This was an extremely powerful role held by a princess, most notably Enheduanna, daughter of King Sargon of Akkad, and was the primary cult role associated with the cult of Nanna/Sin.
Sin also had a sanctuary at Harran, named E-khul-khul ("house of joys"). The cult of the moon-god spread to other centers, so that temples to him are found in all the large cities of Babylonia and Assyria. A sanctuary for Sin with Syriac inscriptions invoking his name dating to the 2nd and 3rd centuries CE was found at Sumatar Harabesi in the Tektek mountains, not far from Harran and Edessa.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sin_(mythology)
According to the Sumerian myth, the God of the moon Sin had children who were the God of the Sun and the God of Venus.

Anyway the God in person spoke to Abraham, telling him to leave Harran heading for the place the God indicated.  It means that Abraham left the God of the Moon, being guided by his own god. It is so since if Abrahan had continued to stay in Harran, he should have continued to revere the God of the Moon of Sumerians.

"a strong man's house" - A Japanese Immigrant to Dominica

Tokyo Suburb at the End of Winter

A Japanese Immigrant to Dominica

In 1958 hundreds of Japanese immigrated into the Dominican Republic, since Japan was then still poor suffering the aftermath of WWII.

At a border area near Haiti 300 Japanese started to cultivate land.  They were promised in Japan vast farm land but actually got a tiny area full of stones in Dominica.  So, Japanese immigrants left the place one family after another.  Today only one family remains.

The Japanese was determined to stay there and grow coffee plants.  After half-a-century hard efforts, the man, now over 90 years old,  has succeeded and owes 120 ha of coffee fields.

http://www.geocities.co.jp/NatureLand-Sky/8951/imin4.html

Though it is a family farming of coffee plantation, his coffee beans can be purchased following the procedure specified in a Web site run by a company established by Japanese immigrants to the Dominican Republic.

"having raised up his Son Jesus" - Venus, Moon, and Jupiter

Can you see Mt. Fuji?

Venus, Moon, and Jupiter

Tonight the three celestial bodies, Venus, the moon and Jupiter, looked like composing one huge arc in the evening sky as below:
In reality, Venus at the highest position shone more impressively.

I really think something great is happening as one small miracle occurred around me while I was moving under the evening sky.  But what is it?

Anyway this configuration reminds me of one great sequence in the human history.

2000 BC - The Era of Abraham Starts

AD 1 - The Era of Christ Jesus Starts

AD 2000 - The Era of New Religion Starts

As we today in the third double-millenaries, we are so lucky to observe the above sequence of history.  But 2000 years was long since the first emergence of Christ Jesus in ancient Israel.  But prior to His first emergence, there had been also 2000 years since Abraham.  It is really a wonder that we were born in the late 20th century.

First of all you can live trying to be rich or enjoy your life as much as possible and only die.  You may think it is natural and it is good.  But it is foolish.  As you do not include a very decisive factor in such a thinking: God.  It is God that decided when, where, and how you would have been born prior to your birth.  And it is God that had decided how much you could be rich and enjoy your life to any extent; and He also decides when, where, and how you die.  God must also plan how to handled your soul after your death in this material life.  Therefore, it is foolish if you live trying to be rich or enjoy your life as much as possible, since you forget one important factor: God.

And when you start to think about the relationship between God and yourself, you would like to refer to history and wonder why you were born in this very era.

The Empire of Japan seems to be still a focus of the world, though it went extinct in 1945.  And it is good for the world to know the truth of the Senkaku Islands of Japan.

Act 3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Act 3:24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

Act 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Act 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
