"ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart"

(Tokyo, a mecca for Chinese, Koreans, and Taiwanese)

Hottest Day and Days for Japan

Victims and their families of the Hiroshima or Nagasaki nuclear bomb attack say, "No more Hiroshima! No more Nagasaki!"

It implies that if the Japanese people had been informed of the American technological level that actually enabled development of atomic bombs, they would not have supported the Imperial government venturing into the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941.

But, more importantly, Hiroshima and Nagasaki victims must have seen power of the anti-God and the God, in whatever implication.

This scale of victimization can be only matched by Auschwitz.

All the Judaists in the world had better visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, since Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Auschwitz belong to the domain of the anti-God and the God.

"No more Hiroshima! No more Nagasaki! No more Pearl Harbor! No more Auschwitz! No more Crucifixion!"

SECTION I: Empire under the Great Depression

It is Korekiyo Takahashi that saved the Empire of Japan from the Great Depression that had started in the U.S. in 1929.

Probably, Mr. Barnanke of FRB must have studied some on the state of the Empire of Japan recovering so fast while the U.S. and the U.K. were in the middle of recession in early 1930's.

Inflation Adjusted-Economic Growth Rate of Japan
1927....3.4%
1928....6.5%
1929....0.5%
1930....1.1%
1931....0.4%
1932....4.4%
1933....11.4%
1934....8.7%

Takahashi as minister of finance took anti-deflation measures very quickly.

Takahashi carried out devaluation of yen, resulted in 40% depreciation of yen.

Takahashi took aggressive fiscal policy, issuing government bonds in a large quantity.

Takahashi had the Bank of Japan take up these government bonds, suppressing a rise of interest.

A rise of prices of goods was also controlled between 3% to 4% after BOJ started to buy the government bonds in 1932.

An amount of outstanding BOJ notes increased by 40%, but industrial output grew 2.3 times.

Five years before John Maynard Keynes launched his theory, Korekiyo Takahashi practiced actually contents of the theory of Keynes.

(Hitler adopted Keynes' theory, but Takahashi had given hints to Keynes.)

So, the Japanese Government today must follow this great precedence:
1. Lower an exchange rate of yen by 40%.

2. Issue government notes in a large quantity to exchange them with BOJ notes so as to increase circulation of yen notes by 40%.

3. Control the consumer price index around 3.5% and promote industrial activities by 150%.

Of course you need another Korekiyo Takahashi but neither Keynes nor Hitler, in order to realize this revolutionary change.

If Japan address this challenge with a new theory, Japan will lead the 21st century in terms of economy and economics.

SECTION II: This Evening's Miracle

Mt. Fuji, 100 km far, is not yet smoking!

In the summer, it is not so easy to have climate condition suitable for 60-miles distant observation to the west over cities and towns with millions of population.

In addition, a military plane was flying high in the sky (click on the picture for magnification).

And, the line of woods at the edge of paddy fields is actually a bank of the holy Arakawa River flowing to the left-hand side toward the Tokyo Bay 41 km far.

SECTION III: Takahashi Korekiyo & the Rothschilds

Korekiyo Takahashi (family name: Takahashi) sold Japanese government bonds to the Rothschilds family and other Judaists to raise funds for the war between the Empire of Japan and the Russian Empire (1904-1905).

------------
Takahashi Korekiyo, the Rothschilds and the Russo-Japanese War, 1904–1907

Economic historians know Takahashi Korekiyo (1854–1936) best for his countercyclical monetary and fiscal policies during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Takahashi, who served as governor of the central bank, prime minister and seven times as finance minister between 1913 and his assassination in 1936, devalued the yen, lowered interest rates, increased the money supply, and began substantial deficit financing in 1931–1932, five years before John Maynard Keynes published his seminal General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money. Takahashi’s policies were so successful in engineering Japan’s economic recovery that one of his biographers, Goto Shinichi, has dubbed him 'Japan’s Keynes'.
...
And finally on 1 March, Lord Rothschild reports that 'Mr. Takahashi as usual behaved admirably; naturally the objections he raised at first were fully justified'. On 7 March he continues that ‘The Japanese are a remarkable nation, they have proven themselves on land and sea and their financial representative Mr. Takahashi deserves the highest praise for having placed the finance of the country on so firm and stable a basis’, and on 8 March, that 'all preparations are made for the Japanese Loan and the prospectuses will be issued this afternoon and judging from appearances I expect the loan to be a great success'.
...
On 7 May, Lord Rothschild wrote to Paris that, 'We can heartily congratulate you upon the expected satisfactory conclusion of a Franco-Japanese arrangement. We have always had great faith in Japan, faith in their military and naval prowess which the late war amply justified, faith in the resources of their country and still greater faith in the wisdom of the Japanese rulers …' Although Lord Rothschild and Alfred had met Takahashi when he first arrived in London in the spring of 1904, the 'always' had not begun until November 1905, that is, after the peace, when the risk of lending to Japan had been greatly reduced.

------------

Korekiyo Takahashi was once a poor samurai boy sent to America for study. But, he was fell in a trap to be sold as a slave boy in a "white" man's farmer. Later, he successfully got freedom and came back to Japan when the samurai era had just gone.

Takahashi one time taught English in a school in Tokyo. One of his students was notable literary man Shiki Masaoka. As the greatest author in Japan Soseki Natsume was Masaoka's close friend, it was very interesting that Soseki later suffered in London during his stay for study, while Korekiyo enjoyed social relationships with the Rothschild and even the British Royal family. (Takahashi even sent two dogs to Queen of the England, namely the wife of the then British King.)

Anyway, the two greatest men, Takahashi and Natsume, in the modern history of Japan were somewhat linked, though they lived in very different domains.

When the Empire of Japan lost both Takahshi and Natsume without authentic successors, it was faced with a critical moment of WWII.

If you have not fully studied Korekiyo Takahashi and Soseki Natsume, you cannot be regraded as an expert in Japan, though you might be regarded so in New York or London, since Rothschild learnt Japan through Takahashi.

In large-scale confirmation efforts by public offices all over Japan, scores of old people aged 100 or more are found to be missing, though there are more than 40,000 old people aged 100 or more in Japan.

An old woman aged 104 has been confirmed alive in her home with her family in northern Japan. As she has not received nursing care, only a face-to-face check can prove officially her living.

"and preached Christ unto them"

(Toward Ueno/Shinjuku, Tokyo)

Undisciplined Elites

They were stupidly laughing and smiling in a Q&A session of the National Diet, Tokyo.

Those Japanese national lawmakers are apparently brainwashed by an old standard of value: Lawmakers are the elite so that they are respected by ordinary citizens, especially voters.

They do not look like being afraid of checks by the audience who are watching live broadcast from the parliament. They lack ability to correctly measure the ability needed to address challenges they are expected to tackle. They are not learning anything from plights Mr. Hatoyama, Mr. Ozawa, and even Mr. Kan have been forced to face.

So, I saw a car with a license number plate showing "11-07."

Then I saw other showing "44-04."

A snap election will be probably held in the next April, with a result symbolized by "44."

SECTION I: American Whaling

Americans killed almost half a million whales in the past.

Yet, Hollywood praised the movie "The Cove," accusing Japan of its humble hunting of dolphins as traditional foods.

Accordingly, the God punished America around the Gulf of Mexico with crude oil.

--------------------
Marine Science

American Whaling

...
American whaling centered on the sperm whale with long voyages using a new type of ship. American whaling ships were outfitted with ‘try pots’ where the blubber was cooked on board ship, yielding the coveted oil. The oil was stored in barrels and, unlike fresh blubber, would not spoil because it had been cooked for a long time. Whaling voyages became longer and longer (up to five years) as the sperm whales in the Atlantic declined. By the late 1700s most voyages were all the way to the South Pacific (sometimes by way of the dreaded Cape Horn, at the tip of South America, and sometimes by the longer route around the Cape of Good Hope, at the tip of South Africa).

Sperm oil, spermaceti, and ambergris were the primary products from sperm whales. The sperm oil resulted from the 'trying out' of the blubber (cooking the blubber in the try pots on the whaling ships) and was used in lamps and as a lubricant...

The height of American whaling was from 1820 to 1850 – killing around 10,000 whales each year, sailing over 700 ships and employing over 70,000 people. The original techniques of the Basques (small open boats with a harpooner and long rope on the harpoon) prevailed as the primary killing mechanism. The long ride that many of these whale boats got after harpooning a whale became known as the "Nantucket sleigh ride."

...After the Civil War petroleum products began replacing the sperm oil in lamps and spermaceti in candles. Not much of the American whaling industry remained after 1925.

...The Charles Morgan is the only surviving American whaling ship. It is kept for public display at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut. Mystic Seaport is committed to keep this ship repaired and in use for public education.

SECTION II: Chinese Bubble to Burst

Japan and America cannot sacrifice 10% of its population for economic growth.

But, China can do 30% of its people to keep economy growing.

In a free democratic society, 10% of insurgents cannot be contained by legal power a government has.

But, in the Chinese society, 30% of insurgents can be easily contained by whatever power the Chinese Communist Party can abuse.

Accordingly, the Chinese economic bubble can continue more than in Japan or America.

Yet, when it blasts, damages China will have to suffer can be enormous.

II-1: The Bursting of the Chinese Bubble in 2010

--------------------
The Bursting of the Chinese Bubble in 2010

However, China’s debt concerns many experts; China’s national government owes a debt equal to roughly 70% of the 2009 Chinese GDP. By contrast, the United States’ national government owes a debt equal to roughly 50% of the 2009 U.S. GDP. Experts worry that the more debt that is on the books, the more vulnerable borrowers will be to shocks.

What happens if China's 'bubble' pops?

By Katie Benner, writerFebruary 5, 2010: 2:24 PM ET

"The government can really push money into enterprises to keep them going even amid a crisis," says Peter Morici, a public policy professor at the University of Maryland. "You wouldn't see a credit shortage like the one we saw in the U.S."

As for the rash of bad loans that could be made amid a period of forced lending, China has an answer to that, too. The government pushes debt problems off into the future and is notoriously opaque when it comes to reporting problems. For these reasons, bad debts would surface in a slow and hopefully orderly manner, Fitch wrote in its recent report.
...
As we saw with the massive $585 billion stimulus plan that China enacted amid the global financial meltdown, the government can move quickly without worrying about opposition parties or congressional slowdowns. During a crisis, time plays a huge role in damage control.
...
Bubbles in China are about much more than finance. Economic upheaval is a source of potential mass unrest, threatening the Communist Party. "

II-3: Is the China bubble about to burst?

--------------------
Is the China bubble about to burst?

By Hari Sud

Column: Abroad ViewPublished: January 29, 2010

Consider this: real estate values increased by 70 percent in Chinese cities in 2009, far beyond the average household’s affordable level. The stock market has skyrocketed by 80 percent beating even the best predictions for 2009. As the average Chinese have major investments in both these sectors, there will be turmoil if both sectors crash in 2010. If so, the U.S. recession of 2008-2009 would pale in contrast and China’s economic crisis could rival the U.S. depression of 1930.

Why are so many economists and brokers forecasting China’s internal implosion? Simply because they are reading about China’s US$580 billion stimulus package, the US$1.4 trillion lent by banks to the rich and powerful in China and the US$80 billion in foreign direct investment received in 2009. These are huge amounts of money that cannot be ignored.

This river of money has ended up in China’s real estate and stock markets. Everybody in the West knows what happens when markets shoot up too fast. They drop as rapidly as they rise, sinking tons of money. In the event of a stock market crash, all this money will evaporate and ruin the financial health of the country for a long time to come.

It is difficult to pinpoint when China will implode, but it seems certain that the laws of economics will take their due course. In this scenario, opportunists from the West, backed by Western money, will come into China’s financial markets and buy healthy Chinese companies on fire sale. Chinese investors will cry foul but to no avail. This will not be an end of the Chinese economy but rather a sobering reminder.

Nomura's Sun Says China Property 'Bubble' Will Burst; Prices to Drop 20%
By Shiyin Chen and Rishaad Salamat - Jun 16, 2010 11:57

National real-estate prices may drop between 10 percent and 20 percent on average, compared with an increase of about 22 percent last year, Sun Mingchun, a Hong Kong-based economist at Nomura, said in a Bloomberg Television interview.

“If you look at housing prices to disposable income in Beijing and Shanghai, they are 13, 14 times,” said Sun, whose team was ranked third in Institutional Investor’s 2010 Asian poll for China research. “There’s no way you can say there’s no bubble.”

Real-estate prices jumped 12.4 percent across 70 cities in May, adding to the 12.8 percent surge in April that was the most since the data series began in 2005. The gains suggest that measures ranging from a ban on loans for third-home purchases to higher mortgage rates and downpayment requirements for second- home purchases have yet to cool the real-estate market.

Bank of Japan's Shirakawa Sees Chinese Bubble Risk (Update1)

(Updates with Bank of Japan comment in sixth paragraph.)

By Tatsuo Ito

China, the fastest-growing major economy, has been driving the global recovery. Exports jumped the most in six years in May, property prices rose at a near-record pace and inflation jumped to the highest in 19 months, putting pressure on Chinese authorities to let the yuan rise and increase interest rates.

Japan has relied on demand from China, the country's biggest overseas market, to fuel its own export-led rebound. Shipments abroad contributed the most to Japan's 5 percent annualized expansion in the first quarter. China grew 11.9 percent in the period, the fastest pace in almost three years.

Shirakawa said policy makers in China are addressing the risk of overheating, according to Tsumura. The central bank governor spoke in response to a question by Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshito Sengoku.

During WWII, in an island of the South Pacific, some remnants of a Japanese platoon were wandering in the jungle as these soldiers had no foods, ammunition, and an effective command line after fierce battles against large American forces.

When they sat or lied down waiting for death. An aid man of a certain unit appeared with a syringe in his hand. He started to make an injection to each soldier. One after another, the wounded or starving soldiers fell down. But, to the last one, the medical orderly said, "Sorry, no more injection solution"; and he disappeared into the jungle like a ghost.

The last soldier started to wander again eventually to a newly built road leading to a base of some American troops. So, he sat on the road side, waiting for something.

There came a jeep with "white" soldiers on it. They saw the half-dying Japanese soldier but passed by.

After a long while, there came another jeep with "black" soldiers on it. They saw the half-dying Japanese soldier but passed by. Yet, it halted at some distance and came back to pick up the enemy soldier.

The Japanese soldier returned to Japan after the war. He started to work as a driver of a Tokyo street car and then a Tokyo city bus.

He, namely a miracle veteran of WWII, sometimes recalled the incident, saying to young friends, "I was saved by black guys (but not by white guys) in the South Seas."

Proud Fools

Kaishu Katsu (1823-1899) is one of the last samurai heroes who lived over the Meiji Restoration of the imperial authority that did away with the Tokugawa samurai regime in 1868.

He visited the U.S. in 1860 as a member of Tokugawa's envoy to the U.S., though Katsu sailed back from San Francisco, which was the first official Japanese sailing across the Pacific Ocean with Japanese in charge of piloting the ship.

After coming back to Japan, he respectfully reported to Shugun (samurai king) Iemochi in the Edo Castle. On this occasion one of senior samurai asked about difference between Japan and the U.S.

Katsu answered: "In America those ranked high in the government are wise enough for their status."

Indeed, Kaishu Katsu (1823-1899) was one of the last samurai heroes who lived over the Meiji Restoration of the imperial authority that did away with the Tokugawa samurai regime in 1868.

SECTION I: Naoto Kan vs. Ichiro Ozawa

On September 14, the Japanese ruling party DPJ is going to have its regular convention to elect a new head who is to be elected as prime minister of Japan in the National Diet if anybody except incumbent head Mr. Naoto Kan is so elected.

P.M. Mr. Kan failed in the 11-07-2010 Upper-House election where he could have only 44 candidates elected though his target was 54. His approval rating fell by 25% to 35% or so since he assumed office of the prime minister in early June.

So, he can be replaced, but his predecessor Former P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama served as prime minister only for nine months after the historical regime change realized through 30-8-2009 Lower-House election. Accordingly, replacing Mr. Kan in September does not look advantageous for maintaining political stability and administrative efficiency in addition to diplomatic reputation of Japan. But, some members of the DPJ seem to be determined to challenge P.M. Mr. Kan, since they want Mr. Ichiro Ozawa to lead Japan.

In 1994, the only Cabinet that was not established by the conservative LDP for half a century till the Hatoyama Cabinet collapsed as then P.M. Mr. Morihiro Hosokawa resigned after nine-month ruling. At that time lawmaker Mr. Ozawa was the top leader in allied ruling parties. Yet, he failed in bolstering the Hosokawa Cabinet, since P.M. Hosokawa could not keep promises with then U.S. President Mr. Bill Clinton. In addition, America doubted whether a key minister of the Hosokawa Cabinet had a special tie with North Korea while the Clinton Administration was studying a possible war with North Korea. Accordingly, a political fund scandal surfaced around P.M. Mr. Hosokawa, forcing him to step down and paving the way for a comeback of the pro-American LDP to power in 1994.

Mr. Ichiro Ozawa was the head of the DPJ till May 2009 since 2006. He could have been elected as prime minister of Japan in lieu of Mr. Hatoyama, if he had not stepped down due to a political fund scandal. Nonetheless, supporting the quasi-revolutionary Hatoyama regime, Mr. Ozawa led the ruling DPJ as Director-General. Mr. Ozawa acted like a boss to P.M. Mr. Hatoyama. But, when P.M. Mr. Hatoyama stepped down spontaneously before the 11-07-2010 election due to a too-low approval rating, Mr. Hatoyama virtually forced controversial Mr. Ozawa to leave the leading post of the party, which was positively accepted by the Japanese media and voters. And, new P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan alienated Mr. Ozawa riding on the anti-Ozawa boom of the society, which made Mr. Ozawa angry. Finally, the DPJ lost the Upper-House election despite hard efforts by P.M. Mr. Kan as well as by Mr. Ozawa.

There is one more grave issue for 40-years-long lawmaker Mr. Ichiro Ozawa. He is now under investigation by the Committees for the Inquest of Prosecution as to whether or not Mr. Ozawa should be officially prosecuted for an illegal political fund handling. Conclusion is yet to be announced.

Taking into various conditions, it is unlikely that Mr. Ozawa tries to become the head of the DPJ and thus prime minister of Japan. But, he seems to be resolute in rejecting another term for Mr. Kan as the head of the DPJ and thus prime minister. Mr. Ozawa is said to control 150 DPJ national lawmakers among 400+. With Mr. Hatoyama's faction consisting of 50 or so members, Mr. Ozawa can take control of the scheduled DPJ convention on Sept. 14.

Another factor is America. There is now even a stupid rumour that Mr. Ichiro Ozawa met with one of the so-called "Japan handlers" Mr. Michael Green in the Hachijojima Island, 300 km south of Tokyo, when he hastily visited the Island on July 18 as if he had come for fishing, and flew back to Tokyo so hastily next day. Mr. Green encouraged Mr. Ozawa to take over from P.M. Mr. Kan.

(Michael Green is the Japan Chair and a senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies [CSIS], as well as an associate professor of international relations at Georgetown University.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Green_(political_expert))

According to the hearsay, Mr. Green came to the island, a tourist spot, on board a USS nuclear submarine that sailed out of the U.S. Naval base at Yokosuka, 40 km south-west of Tokyo.

The Kan Cabinet is full of socialistic ministers while the DPJ has many pro-North Korean lawmakers. Even the Obama Administration might find a problem in it, since South Korea and the U.S. are now somewhat on alert against North Korea who sank a S. Korean naval ship a few months ago. Especially, the Kan Cabinet very recently invited a former N. Korean spy to have her meet families of Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea. (In 1987 she had set a bomb in and blown off a S. Korean jet liner killing more than 100 passengers but was arrested by South Korea after the incident.) The female spy was allowed to stay in Former P.M. Mr. Hatoyama's villa in Karuizawa and the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. This VIP treatment should surprise CIA of America.

Some Japanese speculate that America is now helping Mr. Ichiro Ozawa take over from P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan, though it might be a subordinate to Mr. Ozawa that will become new prime minister of Japan this September.

And, it that case, the ruling DPJ and the opposition LDP might form a coalition cabinet, since the DPJ has no majority in the Upper House. If so, the old and experienced LDP might be also helping Mr. Ichiro Ozawa take over from P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan, though it might be a subordinate to Mr. Ozawa that will become new prime minister of Japan this September.

This is the true situation in the political community of Japan today.

(And I do not find a high level of wisdom in this scenario. Mr. Ozawa should support P.M. Mr. Kan at least till the passing of the 2011 budget legislation expected in the next spring.)

*** *** *** ***

So many Japanese ambitious people today, including politicians, say they respect Sakamoto Ryoma, one of the last samurai heroes who could not live over the Meiji Restoration of the imperial authority that did away with the Tokugawa samurai regime in 1868.

But, Kaisyu Katsu saved 1.5 million residents in Edo (Tokyo) from possible fierce batttles between samurais on the emperor's side and those on the Tokugawa shogun side. His risky negotiations with Takamori Saigo resulted in peace just a day before the planned all-out attck on Edo.

Katsu was also a one-time teacher for Ryoma who was assassinated in Kyoto before the Meiji Restoration.

Yet, Katsu lived his latter life as high-ranking official and nobleman in the Meiji imperial government, sitting at a desk to sign and seal documents day after day in a government office in Tokyo.

He might have recalled his own words of one or two decades ago: "In America those ranked high in the government are wise enough for their status."

Everbody learns about Kaisyu Katsu in school of Japan, even today.

Economy Secondary Matter

Economy is a secondary matter.

So, Jesus Christ preached continuously for three days without Himself eating and providing foods for a multitude of people.

It looks like that everybody was satisfied even physically listening to teaching of Jesus Christ.

So, foods, money, and economy are all a secondary matter for mankind.

The above figures tell that economy of Japan is very exceptional.

This difference must be well understood. Simple economic theories European and American economists can think of cannot apply to Japan.

The above figures alone justify provision of yen notes by the Japanese Government to replace tax collection with this scheme of using Government-printed yen notes for execution of budget.

Practically, the government notes will be exchanged with yen notes the Bank of Japan prints through an account in the BOJ.

Conversely, the GDP deflator of Japan requests the Japanese government to infuse more yen notes into the society apart from monetary operation by the BOJ.

If the GDP deflator of Japan is turned into a positive figure as a result of a large scale provision of yen notes by the Japanese Government, it means that the society has now appropriate level of yen notes.

The foreign exchange market will fairly appraise yen, accordingly.

Unlike the export-based drug cartels of Colombia or Mexico, Rio's gangs are wholesale importers—of cocaine from Bolivia, Peru, and Colombia, and of marijuana from Paraguay—as well as managers of their own retail distribution networks. At least a hundred thousand people work for the drug gangs of Rio in a hierarchical structure that mimics the corporate world. The state is almost completely absent in the favelas. The drug gangs impose their own system of justice, law and order, and taxation—all by force of arms. Rio is the top-ranked city in the world for "violent international deaths," with just under five thousand murders last year, at least half of which were drug-gang related. Two decades after the collapse of Communism the region's Marxist guerrillas have disappeared, only to be replaced by violent drug mafias. The politician and former guerrilla Alfredo Sirkis likens the spread of Rio's gang culture to Al Qaeda's appeal to disenfranchised youths in Muslim societies.

Brazil can meet 90% of its demand for crude oil with its own domestic production of crude oil.

Brazil is the No. 1 exporter of iron ore in the world.

Brazil is the No. 1 producer of bio-ethanol in the world.

Will economic growth in a present manner realize the rule of justice and law in Rio?

Can Brazil alone protect the nature of the Amazonian region?

As Brazil once suffered a 16,358,800% increase or 160,000-times increase in the consumption price index, mentality of the people must be very unique.

Incidentally, there are reportedly 280,000 Brazilians living in Japan that has a population of 127 million.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilians_in_Japan

Among 79,960 Brazilian visitors to Japan in 2007, 1,160 were arrested by the police in criminal cases. This crime rate (1,396/100,000) is four times larger than that of Japanese citizens (298/100,000).

But, how Jesus Christ solved the matter of foods, money, and economy is very practical.

It looks so, since He knew that many of the people had foods and money hidden in their bags and pockets while pretending that they had not.

According to a theory, the most distant point in the universe for you is where you are, if you ever start to go to the boundary of the time and space.

Mankind will not be able to find a more suitable planet than the earth if we travel the universe any far in any future.

Mankind will not be able to create another solar system and another earth if we obtain a super technology in any future.

Anyway, according to a theory, mankind has reached its apex of glory 2000 years ago when the Son of God appeared on the earth.

All through the universe, I suppose, it is only to the earth that the Creator of the universe has sent His Son.

It is because, I suppose, the earth is the best of the best works of the God Almighty. He must be angry as the earth has been so contaminated by foolish members of mankind. Today, value of money is based on the modern industry which owes its success to the European Christian Civilization.

Anyway, I cannot stand those indelicate behaviors of politicians, comedians, and gangsters, including men and women, contaminating the world in exchange with mere $1 million, $1 billion, $1 trillion, and $1 quadrillion.

Have not they ever learnt anything from the death of Princess Diana and JFK Jr. in the late 20th century?

Corruption invites terror of any scale.

Specifically, Iran might be equipped with nuclear weapons and Chinese economy might undergo a burst of the current bubble, even though Japan might be able to eventually find a new economic theory and system through its decades-long efforts.

When you are eating, drinking, laughing, and dancing, history might start to correct itself, which might not be good news for you at all.

Anglo Saxons vs. Japanese?

President Mr. Bill Clinton, FRB Chairman Mr. Greenspan, and Secretary Mr. Summers were all laughing at Japan in late 1990's, since Japan was in a decade long recession after the burst of the economic bubble.

But, they are not now, though Mr. Greenspan and Mr. Summers are Judaist Americans.

Judaists and Israelis in the world should listen to Japanese rather than Anglo Saxons.

"he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha"

Like A Summer Festival in Japan

Not all the Japanese are humble and great.

Even in the worst company I ever worked in, however there were always some who showed enough virtue for me to appreciate.

But fools are fools in any country.

If Koreans do not show their respect for Japan, it is due to existence of such Japanese fools.

One of the worst types of such Japanese fools is of those who work in an Anglo-Saxon company in Tokyo or who live in North America or Europe while criticizing Japanese politicians as if they were residents in Japan.

Maybe honest and diligent foreigners in Japan might be better for Japan than those arrogant, foolish Japanese.

SECTION I: Broken Korean Kingdom and Invading Russians

As the kingdom of Korea was broken socially, economically, and politically, the Korean Peninsula was about to be subject to the Russian Empire in the second half of the 19th century.

The kingdom of Korea had been long under strong influence and control of the Ching dynasty of China, unlike Japan. But as the Chinese Empire got also disarrayed economically and politically after the Opium War, Manchuria and the Korean Peninsula was about to be subject to the Russian Empire in the 19th century.

However, Chinese and Koreans were not a kind of American Indians, if Russian troops had acted like U.S. Army cavalry with advanced fire arms. So, political games and military demonstrations continued long between them. Yet, in the latter half of the 19th century, it was widely understood in the world that Chinese and Koreans had no power any more to stop invasion by Russians of the Far East.

Just like the colonization of India by the British Empire, everybody in the world thought that it was a matter of time that the Russian Empire occupied Mongolia, Manchuria, Northern China, and the Korean Peninsula as far as the Pacific Ocean regions in the south.

But, there stood up Japanese or samurais. And everybody in the world came to know that the Russian Empire could not take the Far East through its territorial expansion activities based on armed forces to the south so long as Japanese were firmly standing against them.

In 1860's, fully observing the half-collapsed Korean Kingdom and the desperately obsolete and undisciplined Chinese imperial government, most of samurai rulers in Japan decided to reshape the nation with the emperor at the center of its power structure, thus avoiding a fatal war among samurai clans and factions and concentrating efforts of all into building a new nation as strong as Russia and any other European nation.

Especially young samurais who took leading positions after the Meiji Restoration of 1868 through a series of domestic armed conflicts started exhaustively modernization of Japan, introducing various products of the Western Civilization through trade based on Japan's wealth accumulated till then. This sort of revolutionary movement was not however observed in the bigotry and class-oriented Korean kingdom still adhering to national seclusion while Western naval ships and troops were on the rampage around the peninsula.

For example, most of Japanese people could read and write, including farmers, in the late 19th century (men 89% and women 39% in 1878), but literacy rates in China (a few percent?) and Korea (less than 10%) were far smaller compared with Japan.

This is the situation of the Far East in history before the emergence of the Empire of Japan on the international stage in the second half of the 19th century.

Koreans and Chinese in the late 19th century had no government that could be called a government at all in confrontation with modern troops and fleets of the Russian Empire. But, Japan alone succeeded in establishing its own modern empire to stop the Russian invasion, mainly owing to its 1000-year-long samurai ruling traditions.

Today, still many people in the world think Japan was colonized by some Western power in the 19th century, so that Japan could develop its culture and carry out modernization. It is a complete mistake. When it opened the door to the world in 1850's, Japan had already long history, excellent culture, samurai traditions, accumulated wealth and gold, and farmers a half of whom could read and write. Nobody (of China and Europe) could ever colonize Japan in its 2000-year-long history.

SECTION II: Japan Paid So Much to Koreans after WWII

First of all, the annexation of the Korean Peninsula to the Empire of Japan in 1910 was realized through decades-long communications, negotiations, and mutual understanding of situations, though some military violence's were observed sometimes.

It was not a result of any decisive war between the Empire of Japan and the kingdom of Korea. It was a result of long unification movement over decades.

The Empire of Japan did not colonize the Korean Peninsula like the British Empire did with India or other European nations did with Africans and Asians. It should be referred to as annexation rather than colonization. It is so, since Korean framers had been already colonized by the Korean noble class of the Yi Dynasty that had never treated Korean framers in a civilized manner unlike Japanese samurais who had allowed primary education for farmers even before the 18th century.

The Empire of Japan tried to change uneducated Koreans to diligent Japanese, introducing modern education systems.

The Empire of Japan tried to change poor Korea to part of industrialized Japan, investing so much into Korea, building factories, constructing social infrastructures, and even applying advanced rice-farming skills to poor Korean villages.

So, when Korea got independent after WWII, it was full of factories and facilities built by the Empire of Japan. The old kingdom of Korea had nothing to do with modernization of South Korea as well as North Korea before and after WWII. From a historical point of view, it was a great gift from the Empire of Japan.

When the Empire of Japan abandoned the Korean Peninsula after WWII, it left all the industrial assets it had in the peninsula without requesting transfer costs to Koreans or requesting any prices. The amount of these assets abandoned by Japan is said to be $5.3 billion.

What's more, in 1965 when the diplomatic relationship between Japan and South Korea was established, Japan paid $800 million, though South Korea had at the time an only $350 million national budget.

It could be translated into compensation of $12,000 per Korean victim of forced labor by the Empire of Japan if their number had been so large as Koreans today so claim.

After WWII, Germany paid $3,000 to $8,000 to each individual who had been forced to work by Nazi Germany during WWII.

However, surprisingly, the South Korean government has never informed the Korean people of the above historical fact.

It is no more a matter of pride of some Koreans...

(Note that some ministers in the present Kan Cabinet of Japan seem to lack the above notion.

As the ruling DPJ has so many politicians blind to these historical facts due to their ideology, philosophy, or simply foolishness, the conservative LDP is expected to play its traditional role to defend the Japanese culture and dignity against foreign forces.

Yet, a majority of South Koreans today realize that it is not the kingdom of Korea or the Yi Dynasty but the Empire of Japan that set the foundation for Korean modernization and industrial development of the 20th and 21st centuries, though they seldom admit it openly in their society.)

*** *** *** ***

Finally it is August.

August is a very special month for Japan, since WWII ended on August 15 for Japan.

Japanese children and students can enjoy their summer holidays all through August, in most areas all over Japan.

Yet, how much did Jesus Christ mind a turn from one month to the next, or from one year to the next?

He just said that there is time for harvest. Indeed, without harvest, any year is meaningless.

Without a blessing, living from one year to the next is meaningless.

So, it is the end of WWII for Japan that matters, since three-million brave Japanese people died in three and half years during WWII.

(Politicians should be allowed to take summer holidays.

But, should it be a vacation with pay?

My opinion is more lawmakers, less salary, and more employment in Nagata-chou.

In Japan we need politicians as many as China or North Korea cannot win on their side by bribery.)

Mar 7:31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

Mar 7:32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

Mar 7:33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

Mar 7:34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

Mar 7:35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

"And when forty years were expired"

(The Tokyo Imperial Palace Plaza in the summer of 2010; Who is to meet me here? Swans?)

Whose Life, Whose Money?

There are more than 40,000 old citizens 100 years old or older in Japan.

In Tokyo, more than 3,500 citizens are 100 years old or older.

A 111-year old man whose family members claimed he was alive till a few days ago has been found "dead since November 1978" as the old man was actually in a state of a mummy in his house or, specifically, in his own room. He was supposed officially, till the discovery of his remains by the police, to be the oldest man in Tokyo Prefecture.

Indeed it takes 32 years for a man or a woman, if not a public office, to understand certain truth.

SECTION I: Net Debt vs. GDP in JAPAN

Once in the UK, the ratio of the net public debt outstanding over its GDP was 250%.

Today, the ratio is around 60% in Japan.

In the gross national debt outstanding term, it is close to 200% in Japan. But, it is the net debt that matters even in the national finance, according to economist Mr. Yoichi Takahashi. And, as the Japanese Government has huge assets, the net debts obtained by subtracting the assets from the gross debts are not so grave at all.

Mr. Takahashi asserts that if Japanese economy grows at 4%, its tax revenue will increase at a rate more than 4%. Then, the government will be able to forever pay interest to outstanding government bonds and the primary balance will be restored.

Bur, how the 4% economic growth should be realized in Japan getting involved so much in the low-wage Chinese market?

(Note: Recently Chinese workers in many factories and plants run by Japanese businesses in China have started to stage strike claiming a salary rise.

It is nice to see Chinese workers paid decently by Japanese management. But, there are also many Chinese businesses leaving China for South East Asia, since labor costs in the region are smaller than in China.)

SECTION II: Not Tax But Printing Yen Notes

Collecting tax is a concept when money meant coins made of noble metal.

Today, paper money has nothing to do with noble metal such as gold, silver, and copper.

In older days, the government used coins of noble metal to pay salary to soldiers and carry out public work projects.

Today, still the concept that collected tax must be equal to an amount of expenditures by a government persists. But, it is time to abolish it, especially in Japan.

Japan has the mighty industry sector that can compete well in the global market. Its ability and capability to supply goods and services are enormous. Japanese businesses have grown with an eye to the global market in addition to the domestic one. It has surpassed a sphere of possible inflation. Even before China started to supply a huge amount of products to Japan, Japan was entering the era of deflation due to its too large supply power.

However, when printing yen bills and using them for execution of a national budget, the Japanese government must take more conditions into consideration.

This new scheme of separation of tax collection and budget execution must be carefully introduced so as not to invoke a possibility of inflation or any other troubles in the market under capitalism.

But, fundamental justification is that the scale of the global derivative market was $596 trillion as of the end of 2008, which is 10 times larger than total GDPs in the world.

If the world is a nation, it means that the world government is printing paper money ten times more than its GDP, though including a form of credit granting. But, there is no inflation today in the world.

If yen notes the Japanese Government prints, independently from the Bank of Japan, are provided for aid for low-income citizens sick people, older people, handicapped people, and so on, the notes would be simply used by them for purchasing goods and services. And, they will be absorbed by the market while expanding its scale.

Without disturbing the capitalism market system, government notes can be spent through various channels provided that this policy is supported by well studied and proven theory and regulations.

MV = PY

M: the total amount of money in circulation
V: the velocity of money in final expenditures
P: the price level
Y: total output from industries

(M + m) x V = P x (Y + y)

m: addition of government notes
y: addition of production demanded by consumers spending "m"

Balance of supply and demand can be maintained.

This scheme would also reduce a number of crimes or quasi-crimes, since nobody needs pension benefits of himeslf or herself or a relative's any more.

*** *** *** ***

In Okayama Prefecture, 150 km west of Kyoto, a farmer discovered an old vase full of old copper coins in his farm lot where his family generation after generation were told that treasury was buried around the lot.

The vase reportedly was one made in the 16th-century. Those coins were mostly made in China, specifically in the era of Ming and Tang. The number of coins having been hidden in the vase for 500 years is 6,000, though this kind of discovery has been reported sometimes, or once or twice per decade or so in Japan.

In older days, Japanese people liked to use imported Chinese coins, though they had technology and copper mines necessary for mintage in Japan.

Indeed, it takes 500 years sometimes for a certain legend in a family to turn out to be true.

"and he hath sent me"

SECTION I: Shock and Awe for P.M. Naoto Kan

In these eight years, a national election has been conducted six times or in six years as either an Upper-House election (for 121 among 242 seats) or a Lower-House election (for all 480 seats) in Japan.

But, the latest Upper-House election is the most difficult one to predict its outcomes. It was very different from the 2009 Lower-House election where the regime change occurred in Japan as the socialistic DPJ took over from the capitalism-oriented LDP.

One month before the Upper-House election slated to conduct on July 11, 2010, the mainstream weekly magazine Shukan Asahi predicted election results as follows:

Democratic Party of Japan - 54 seats
Liberal Democratic Party - 39 seats

The real outcome:

Democratic Party of Japan - 44 seats
Liberal Democratic Party - 51 seats

Accordingly, the ruling DPJ and Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan came to have a sense of crisis, while the conservative opposition LDP has regained confidence somewhat.

Last year, when the Lower House election resulted in the regime change, all the media including The Shukan Asahi predicted correctly the victory of the DPJ even one month before. But, they all failed in foreseeing the victory of the LDP.

But, the real reason for P.M. Mr. Kan's disappointment is that the LDP and spinoffs from the LDP garnered votes more than expected.

The election was competed virtually between the ruling camp with the DPJ and the People's New Party and the ex-LDP camp with the LDP, the Your Party and other two spinoffs.

The ruling DPJ's rival is now not only the LDP alone but the LDP and the Your Party plus other spioffs from the LDP.

In this context, it can be seen in the above figure how gravely P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan was damaged.

It is also clear that as the LDP was very unpopular in the 2003 and 2004 elections, then P.M. Mr. Junichiro Koizumi took a bold initiative in resolving the Lower House for election in 2005 with his own agenda of the postal reform. Eventually, Mr. Koizumi won the wager in a great margin.

This time, P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan also took a bold initiative addressing a new agenda of a 5% increase of a consumption tax rate one month before the voting day only to lose the election. His tactics is still a kind of mystery since it was a commonsense not to raise a tax issue before any election. P.M. Mr. Kan looks like having trusted those forecasts of the election by the media which all suggested his victory in a big margin.

Anyway, the above figure tells the truth of the state of the political community in Japan.

The LDP is not trusted, but the conservative camp with the LDP, the Your Party, and other spinoffs are expected to play a some important role under the ruling by pro-Chinese, pro-North Korean, and pro-labor unions DPJ.

It is so, since the regime change occurred last summer mostly because millions of Japanese people are critically influenced by irresponsible management of the pension fund schemes by the LDP-centric government that had continued for almost half a century till August 2009.

[votes in millions]

Note that during the reign of P.M. Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, the pension fund management scandal did not surface.

It was before the 2007 Upper House election during premiership of P.M. Mr. Shinzo Abe that the scandal was publicly known. Hundreds of millions of pension cases had been wrongly recorded and managed manually or in computers for decades. So, the media suddenly started to widely report the fact as lawmaker Mr. Akira Nagatsuma of the DPJ, now a state minister, discovered and made it open in the parliament.

Apart from this issue, the most significant controversy was about pro-American or pro-Chinese diplomatic sentiments among political parties, since it is also related to an underlying philosophy of economy.

Cool History

One interesting theory about deployment of mankind along history is that native people in Australia had reached the continent earlier than native Europeans reached the western end of the Eurasia continent.

Original Europeans of modern mankind first appeared in Western Europe 42,000 years ago. But, the first native people appeared 50,000 years ago in the Australian continent.

Ancestors of native Australians and West Europeans must have departed from Africa about 60,000 to 50,000 years ago.

The first wave must have reached the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula and then moved to the Persian Gulf, South India, Indonesia, and finally to Australia. They moved just under the sun or to the east without moving north.

(In my theory, they travelled looking for environments very akin to the ones where they had lived in Africa. They moved greatly, but environments they encountered, lived in, and left again must have bee always similar, so that their physical and mental features did not much change from what they had had in Africa.)

But, the second or following waves must have opted for moving north or west avoiding the heat, or during 10,000 years, the climate in Europe must have changed to sub-tropical before entering the ice age.

Anyway, as native Australians seem to still preserve features of early mankind going out of Africa, we have to respect them more. It is just like direct descendants of early followers of Jesus Christ must be respected more, if there are such people preserving the spirits of the first Disciples who lived and followed Jesus Christ 2000 years ago.

The summer is also time to think about our ancestors leaving Africa or staying and watching others leaving.

SECTION I: Yen vs. Dollar/Euro

Some American politicians and economists once tried to damage Japan, pointing at a huge budget deficit of Japan.

American rating companies gave very lower scores to Japanese government bonds.

But, unlike Greece and other nations, 90% of the Japanese government bonds (JGB) are purchased and possessed by Japanese financial institutions, businesses, and wealthy people who have $15 trillion in total, though recently China has started to buy JGB.

So, the financial deficit of the Japanese Government linked with accumulation of outstanding JGB cannot be easily assessed and judged.

But, how much yen is evaluated in the exchange market reflects more clearly political and financial situations before and after the Lehman Shock as well as significance of the subsequent financial crisis.

Before 2000, American and European financial sectors realized that an interest rate in Japan was extraordinarily low. But, interest rates in the U.S. and the E.U. were not so low.

So, they came to borrow money in Japan in the form of yen with a low interest rate and exchange yen with the dollar and euro. The gap of the interest rates promised profits. The more they borrowed money in Japan to exchange it with the dollar and euro, the more they got margins in the American and European markets.

This transaction means huge selling of yen and huge purchasing of the dollar and euro. Accordingly, from 2000 to 2008, the exchange market evaluated yen lower and lower.

In America, there emerged a special condition: the 9/11 Terror and the subsequent War on Terror. Before it, the yen carry trade lowered the value of yen to 135 yen per dollar in early 2002.

From 2002 when the War was launched and to late 2004 when George W. Bush was re-elected, financial institutions were more concerned with special huge expenditures by the U.S. Government for the War. The yen carry trade was relatively less influential in this period. But, as the Bush Administration was authorized again by American voters and the war did not go out of control, the yen carry trade got momentum again. Yen became weaker again.

In 2006, the scale of the yen carry trade reached about $450 billion while 115 yen was exchanged with one dollar.

Then, the subprime-loan mortgage debacle started in 2007 and the Lehman Shock hit the financial sectors of the U.S. and the E.U. so badly. They needed to make the ends meet in their balance sheet. So, they decided to return borrowed yen to Japan. For this, they had to first get yen in the exchange market. They started to buy yen with funds obtained through selling of any financial instruments in any currency.

Today, one dollar is exchanged with 87 or 88 yen, as the yen carry trade has been cancelled in a large scale.

But, an interest rate in Japan is still low. At any time, the yen carry trade is started again.

Yet, it is deflation in Japan that makes the Bank of Japan take a low-interest policy.

Deflation is so potentially dangerous:

Deflation --> Low Interest Rate --> Yen Carry Trade
--> Need to Borrow and Exchange Yen with Dollar --> Weak Yen
--> Lehman Shock --> Cancellation of Yen Carry Trade
--> Need to Get and Return Yen --> Stronger Yen

There is a theory that this yen carry trade also spurred the subprime loan sales. As Wall Street had such a huge source of a low interest rate in Japan, it expanded its credit granting to American consumers, leading to expansion of a scope of possible damage.

In other word, as Mr. Greenspan and Mr. Summers could not understand this scenario in late 1990's, the yen carry trade was practiced so vastly influencing foreign exchange markets in the world.

This cycle can be explained in this way, but deflation in Japan is still going on.

Japan needs a 4% increase in GDP per year but not a 5% increase in tax.

(As for economics students in Harvard, I recommend them to try to explain all the major incidents in the world after 2000 with a key word of "an exchange rate between yen and the dollar/euro." The world can be so simply understood if it is explained with this single keyword "an exchange rate between yen and dollar/euro." However, it looks so complicated to those who get blind due to their desire.)

SECTION II: New Japanese Ambassador to China

For the first time, a non-bureaucrat Japanese ambassador was appointed to China.

But, he said, "Military expansion of China can be understood, taking into consideration that China is a big country."

It is said that he has 20-year long close association with China, since he was an elite businessman of a big Japanese firm.

Yet, his comment does not honestly reflect the stance of the Japanese Government and the Japanese people.

Japan wants China to adopt the same peace article as Japan has in its constitution.

Japan does not accept military expansion of China which might threaten independence of Taiwan and the Japanese security and economic interest.

But, if Chins is so bellicose now, it was so before WWII, very naturally.

So, China attacked Shanghai protected by the Marines of the Empire of Japan and other very moderate forces of the U.S. and European nations in 1930's.

History tells that China's attack led eventually to the preventive attack on Pearl Harbor by the Imperial Navy in 1941.

China should stop increasing its military budget which has been multiplied by more than 20 times in the past 20 years.

Some liberal or progressive people in Japan claim that America is evil, American military bases in Japan are evil, Japanese politicians going on friendly terms with America are evil, and thus the ruling DPJ and Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan are now evil, but ex-head of the DPJ Mr. Ichiro Ozawa is all the more great.

But, Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, last year after the regime change, took with him 140 DPJ lawmakers of the Japanese Diet to Beijing to greet Chinese President Mr. Hu Jintao while subsequently demanding the Imperial Household Agency to change a schedule of the Emperor so as to realize a metting between the Emperor and vice president of China who is however ranked No. 4 or 5 in the Chinese Communist Party.

I do not understand why those liberal or progressive Japanese critics do not call Mr. Ichiro Ozawa evil.

If they think they are wise, they are fools. If they think they are pretending to be fools for their true aim, they are still fools.

If they criticize China and Mr. Ichiro Ozawa as much as they do against America, they can be wise.

Anyway, they should not have criticized the Imperial Household Agency only because the Agency criticized Mr. Ozawa.

And, then P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama should have protected the honor of the Agency at the time.

In this way, Mr. Yukio Hatoyama became unsuitable for presiding over the August 15 ceremony to commemorate the end of WWII for Japan.

Hot, hot summer! So, hot, hot midis.)

Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Mat 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

Mat 7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
