The Vitamin C Synthesis Function of Human Species Suppressed by Viruses

Vitamin C is required for the functioning of several enzymes and is important for immune system function.  It also functions as an antioxidant. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_C)

However, the human species lack the ability to synthesize vitamin C in their bodies while most of animals possess this function.  So, today, why and how ancestors of the human species lost this ability is thought to be a kind of mystery.

Ancestors of the human species as Haplorhini were separated from Strepsirrhini 63 million years ago after extinction of dinosaurs 65 million years ago.  At the time, ancestors of the human species and other infraorders under Haplorhini lost the vitamin C synthesis ability.

The answer must be that our ancestors as Haplorhini were infected by viruses having genes that suppressed the vitamin C synthesis and then they split from Strepsirrhini.  Since then, the human species and other close primates lost vitamin C synthesis ability till this day.  For example, bats also lack this ability, while they have survived to present day as they can take vegetables including vitamin C from environment.

But why did the genes introduced by viruses to suppress the vitamin C synthesis come to be inherited by the human species?  The key to the answer must be the fact that glucose sugar is used as material when synthesizing vitamin C in the human body.  On the other hand, glucose sugar plays an important role in maintaining brain functions.

Without these genes to suppress the vitamin C synthesis, a great amount of glucose sugar would be consumed when it was needed to increase vitamin C in our body, so that our brain would have to lose its material of glucose sugar.  Therefore, the human species opted for keeping these genes to suppress the vitamin C synthesis so as to keep conditions advantageous for protecting and developing of the brain, which allowed for further evolution of the human species. 

Indeed, Linus Carl Pauling, a notable American chemist, once said that the mankind lost the vitamin C synthesis function in order to protect their brains.  But it must be a result of infection 63 million years ago by viruses having genes to suppress the vitamin C synthesis and introducing them into the bodies of early human species.  And due to this incident, the human species could evolve with brains well protected and developed.

Put simply, we owe our existence of today as a highly evolved and intellectual species to viruses with the ability to introduce and transmit genes into our DNA.

It suggests that if the current corona-viruses had such a function to introduce some specific genes to DNA of the mankind, we might further evolve to a certain direction.  However, it is unknown if the direction is good for future of the mankind or fatal for the mankind.

As the current viruses have infected more than 20 million people in the world in eight months or so, damage might have been already done to DNA of the mankind in the worst case.  So, if the God wanted to exterminate the mankind, it seems natural that He would use viruses.

The fact that a man cannot create vitamin C in his body means or suggests something decisive to the future of the mankind.

A cell infected by viruses attaches pieces of proteins created by viruses in the cell to a molecule called the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) to display them. Then, a cytotoxic T-cell recognizes HLA and the pieces of proteins through the T-cell receptor to attack the infected cell.

So, Japanese universities and medical institutions established a task force to examine genes associated with COVID-19 immune response for the development of mucosal vaccine.

Immune response to a virus also varies from individual to individual due to differences in the nucleotide sequences of genes called "polymorphisms." This variability means that even if two people become infected with the same virus, polymorphic variations may yield different immune responses. In an immune response, a group of molecules collectively referred to as HLA acts as a command tower that induces adaptive immunity, specifically binding to bits of virus proteins, generally referred to as epitopes. The recognition by T-cell receptors of epitopes bound to HLA is the key to the function of adaptive immunity, which is expressed in the function of cytotoxic T cells and antibody-producing B cells. There are many types of HLA genes (HLA-A, B, C, DR, DQ, DQ, DP, etc.) and the polymorphism in each HLA (e.g., HLA-A) are known to vary for individual to individual. This is thought to be related not only to differences in responsiveness to viruses but also to susceptibility to seasonal allergies and many other immune-mediated diseases. On the other hand, these immune responses, including innate immunity, are also strongly affected by individual variation other than polymorphic HLA genes, suggesting that various polymorphisms, in addition to HLA, play a significant role in the exacerbation of COVID-19. The A, B, AB, and O types are related to red blood cells, but the white blood cells can be grouped according to HLA types whose number is more than 100,000.  And the degree of easiness of suffering from a disease changes depending on a HLA type, because HLA plays an important role in response of immunity and this response varies according to difference in HLA types.  

The current corona-viruses are based on structure of SARS viruses that caused a minor pandemic around 2003.  Both types of viruses attach themselves to a receptor called ACE2 on the surface of human cells, which dramatically enhances their infectious capacity.  

When SARS viruses spread in the world, there were almost no persons severely infected by the viruses in Japan.  A Taiwanese scientist found that there were clear difference in infection among geological regions and studied on features common to patients developing severe disease due to the viruses.  As a result the scientist discovered that those patients in Asia had commonly the B46 type of HLA.  And only 5% of the Japanese people have the B46 type.

Those having the B46 type can be commonly observed in the southern China, and it is thought that Japanese with this type have ancestors who immigrated into Japan from the southern China about 1500 and 2500 years ago or so in the history. 

However, majority of Japanese have ancestors (so called the Jomon people) having lived in the Japanese archipelago since more than thousands of years or tens of thousands of years ago.  And geological distribution of areas in Japan with the small number of people contaminated by SARS viruses matches that of areas with people having genes received from the Jomon people.

In other words, because majority of the Japanese people are descendants of the Jomon people (who can be called original Japanese), they could avoid severe disease caused by SARS viruses around 2003 and the current corona-viruses.  The type of HLA inherited from ancestors has saved most of Japanese from corona-viruses.    

The number of people in the world infected by corona-viruses is 23,380,569 and the number of deaths due to the viruses is 808,697 as of August 23, 2020.

Virus-Infected Neanderthals Might Become Homo Sapiens

There is a theory that Neanderthals evolved into the modern mankind through contamination of viruses that changed their DNA.

Viruses can bring some genes into human cells and embed them into our DNA.  There is also a theory than evolution of the mankind was accelerated by this function of viruses that contaminated human cells.  And other animals must have also evolved through contamination with viruses that changed their DNAs.

So, it is no wonder that every one of the modern mankind possesses genes that were originated in Neanderthals, since our ancestors might include Neanderthals who had been contaminated by viruses and undergone DNA change to become Homo sapiens or anatomically modern humans.  Put simply, not all the Neanderthals went extinct, but some Neanderthals survived as Homo sapiens through change in DNA by contamination with some viruses.

These traits that can be traced back to the era of co-existence of Neanderthals and Homo sapiens must be related to receptivity to viruses.  Therefor, some races of today may be prone to be more easily contaminated by some viruses, such as corona-viruses, depending on the degree to proximity of DNA to Neanderthals.

According to another study, in some areas of the human genome the genes that can react mutually with viruses are condensed.  And in these genes that can react mutually with viruses are condensed, molecules that directly react with RNA viruses such as HIV and influenza viruses are condensed. 

Anyway, viruses can enter into our cells, change part of our genes on DNA, and accelerate evolution of the mankind.  It also means that we cannot be completely free from viruses as long as our bodies are built with cells that accept genes carried in by viruses.  

So, the mankind will develop science to control viruses in our bodies and cells or our DNA where viruses can embed new genes.  However, the technology developed for this purpose may be abused to alter the basic physical structure of a man, which may lead to more danger for existence of the mankind.  

Therefore, it is natural that the end of the world will come with influence or aftermath of contamination or pandemics by some fatal viruses.

According to a survey conducted by a medical center for aging in Tokyo a decade ago, those who thought that they were healthy could survive twice longer than those who thought that they were not healthy despite their actual states of physical conditions.

Even those who think they were somewhat or partially healthy could survive 1.5 times more than those who thought that they were not despite their actual states of physical conditions.

The result showed that what people think about themselves should gravely influence their life.

What one thinks must be reflected in work of brain nerves connected to autonomous nerves controlling work of organs and eventually human cells.  Positive thinking would have positive influences on organs, cells, and eventually the whole body.  It must also enhance immunity by activating parasympathetic nerves and increasing white blood cells including natural killer (NK) cells.

As Hippocrates in ancient Greece said, each man has the natural healing ability.  To activate this ability, it is important to get rest and keep quiet in bed when one gets sick.

Honest medical doctor admits that medicines do not cure illness but suppress symptoms of illness.  So the more a patient gets medical drugs, the harder he is fully recovered from illness.  He might feel temporary relief from pain from the illness although the internal conditions of his body are not basically improved but addicted to the medical drugs.  It is tantamount to addiction to narcotics.

This theory of the natural healing ability in the human body might not necessary directly apply to diseases caused by corona-viruses, but the basic idea must be effective.

At least, if Christ Jesus saw a man suffering from corona-viruses, He would try to invoke the natural healing ability the one possesses by working on his mind and thus his nerves with His love that could be felt by the sick man.  Feeling love and compassion from Christ Jesus, the sick man should get rest and keep quiet in bed.  

So, it is recommended to read the Bible to be saved from the corona-pandemic. Anyway, this pandemic was caused by the wrath of the God who got angry watching people selling their souls to Satan for money.

More Evil Viruses than Corona-Viruses

The Spanish flu emerged and spread from 1918 to 1820, infecting 500 million people and killing 20 to 45 million people in the world.

At the time, it was not known that influenza was caused by viruses, and there were no effective vaccines. But, the viruses spread fully in the world to reach their maximum capacity, and people who survived the pandemic acquired immune antibodies. As a result, the pandemic started to be suppressed.

Before the Spanish flu, Einstein in 1905 discovered and made public the theory of mass–energy equivalence (E = MC^2) that led to the later invention of nuclear weapons.

Indeed, after the Spanish flu, the world proceeded, through the Great Depression, into WWII where the first nuclear weapon called the atomic bomb was used by the US military against Imperial Japan.  And in WWII (1939 to 1945), 50 to 80 million people were killed all over the world, including victims of the atomic bombs, while 16 million people had been killed in WWI (1914 to 1918).

After WWII, the camp of the Free World led by the United States came into collision with the socialist camp led by the Soviet Union till the the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.  It was estimated that if the two camps had got into nuclear warfare, there should have been hundreds of millions deaths, although peace has been maintained till this day through the 20th century. 

Before 2020, the mankind has already acquired advanced technologies in terms of electronics, computation, communication, and biotechnology as represented by the Internet, the smartphones, AI, robotics, virtual currencies, gene engineering, and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells.

All these technologies can destroy the civilization and existence of the mankind if abused.  As the 1918 Spanish flue was a warning to the world moving to the nuclear age, this 2020 corona-pandemic must be a warning to the world entering into material civilization crises.

Indeed, entities, including any governments, organizations, individuals, terrorists, mad scientists and medical doctors, equipped with these high technology can rule people and interfere with the fate of the mankind.  And, if they abused the technology and affected people, the whole civilization and mankind would start to collapse around 2060 as predicted by Isaac Newton.    

With those potentially dangerous conditions, can you imagine how the mankind will be enjoying the 22nd century or thereafter?  As the 1918 Spanish flu was a warning to the mankind in the 20th century, this 2020 corona-pandemic must be a warning to the mankind living in the 21st century.

However, if the end of the world is to come in the 21st century after 2060, Christ Jesus must have foretold the fate of the mankind due to graveness and significance of the matter.  Therefore, there must be still a chance for our survival to the 22nd century and thereafter.

The key to our survival is faith.  Since Christ Jesus meant that if we had any faith, our civilization would be given more life, but if we did not have, we should be deprived of our civilization and the civilization should fall due to more evil viruses than corona-viruses.

A certain Japanese medical doctor realized one day that some patients were cured mysteriously and spontaneously while most of others were not.

He observed his patents carefully to find that there were some specific patterns in their mind sets of those who recovered well and regained health even from cancer diseases. 

The first type of such patients was of forgetting their diseases.  The second type was of busy doing their favorite things, and the third type was of caring for others more than themselves.

The common feature among them was that they did not get depressed, worry about progress of their diseases, and get overwhelmed by fear of going into more serious states or death.  In other words, they were not under pressure or stress physically or psychologically.

It means that their balance between sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves was well kept so that their immunity was at a high level.  For example, it is medically and scientifically proved that laughing enhances one's immunity, and positive thinking people are less prone to falling in diseases.

Although we cannot easily control our bodies and physical conditions against diseases trough our thinking, wishing, or hoping, it can be well understood that when we feel joy, happiness, or bliss, we feel some power springing from the inside of our bodies.  Our autonomous nerve systems controlling inside physical conditions, such as immunity, are closely linked to brain nerves that can be activated by our emotion. 

Some religious disciplinants train themselves to control their emotion or expression of emotion.  They even try to observe movement and states of their minds.  And they will try to access psychologically the God in the case of Christianity or completely empty their minds in the case of Buddhism.  In other words, they are purifying their minds to discover an ultimate level of joy or complete calmness in the minds.  In either case, their autonomous nerve systems must be set to ideal conditions for human beings who are living things.   

Indeed, Christ Jesus said that those who tried to save their life for themselves would be perished and lose their life, but those who abandoned their life for the sake of Christ Jesus or the God would regain their life and even get eternal life.

Finally, to conquer corona-viruses, we had better forget about presence of the viruses, concentrate on what we should do, cooperate in saving others, the society, and the world, or pray to Christ Jesus or the God so that He would show their glory through the corona-pandemic.

The underlying mechanism is that when we laugh, neural excitation reaches the interbrain that controls immunity, so that good peptides having an informative function are oozed out in a large quantity. These good peptides are carried out by blood and lymph fluid through the whole body to attach to the surfaces of the NK cells and activate them.  (Peptides are short chains of between two and fifty amino acids, linked by peptide bonds.)

It is said that there are 5 billion NK cells in the human body, while 3000 to 5000 cancer cells are generated per day in the human body. These cancer cells, viruses, etc. are suppressed and cleaned up by the NK cells.

However, when we feel sad, get depressed or are put under stress, activities of the NK cells get low and thus our immunity goes down.

Strength of our immunity is reduced as we get older.  If the level of immunity at the age of 20 is 100, it goes down to 50 at 40 years old and 25 at 60.  So, it is natural that young people do not easily develop a diseases if infected by viruses.

So, the old men had better laugh as much as possible to enhance their immunity against corona-viruses.  But there are other ways to activate the NK cells and thus enhance immunity, since when parasympathetic nerves are dominant, the number of lymphocyte cells, including the NK cells, increase.

Therefore, it is recommended to sleep for 7 to 8 hours every night, avoid stress on the mind and the body, handle one's grief, worries, sadness, anger, etc. to conquer them in a short time, do appropriate exercise every day, get absorbed in doing a favorite thing, take things easy and think positively, etc.

However, the best way is to read the Bible.  There are examples described in the holy book that Christ Jesus healed the sick by activating and balancing between their sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves through His love that can be transmitted over the space to their nerve systems.

Indeed, if every medical doctor masters the skill to transmit his or her love to the nerve systems or sensory nerves of a sick person, the doctor should heal more persons infected by corona-viruses.

In this context, a hospital without a true priest working together with a medical doctor is not a good hospital.

The US military dropped the world's first nuclear weapon called the atomic bomb onto Hiroshima, a military city of Imperial Japan with the population, at that time, of about 350,000 in August 1945.

Leaders of the US military at the time was under strong pressure from American citizens and the American Government requesting to finish the war against Imperial Japan as fast as possible without spending more money and sacrificing more American soldiers while Germany had already surrendered.  On the other hand, fanatic leaders of the Japanese Army were determined to face the expected ground war on the Japanese mainland.  The too-brave samurai tradition seemed to force them to fight against invading US troops and die in battles on the Japanese ground.  They were persuading the Emperor to approve the desperate plan to carry out the final ground war on the Japanese main land.  

However, the Emperor started to feel uneasy about the expected outcome of the plan, thus thinking about ceasefire.  In line with Emperor's mind, the Imperial Japanese Government sent an emissary to Moscow to ask the Soviet Union to work as an intermediate for ceasefire between Imperial Japan and the U.S. and the Allies.  However, the Soviet Union was already determined to join the Allies and start battles against Imperial Japan, so that Moscow did not make a clear answer to help Imperial Japan.

The Potsdam Declaration, a statement that called for the surrender of all Japanese armed forces, had been already issued to Imperial Japan in July, but the Imperial Japanese Government did not yet make it clear whether or not it accepted the Declaration due to strong objections from the Imperial Army.

At the time, the Battle of Okinawa on the Okinawa Islands was over with 20,000 deaths on the American side and 200,000 deaths on the Japanese side.  But the Imperial military continued to send total 1,900 Kamikaze suicide attack planes to Okinawa.  (Even one Japanese fighter plane flew up in the sky before Hiroshima, trying to shoot down a U.S. B-29 bomber carrying the atomic bomb, on August 6, but could not catch it due to a lack of enough fuel.)

Therefore, the Imperial Japanese military and allied troops led by General MacArthur expected U.S. landing operation on the Japanese mainland to be launched sooner or later. However, the Imperial Army still kept a million troops in the Chinese mainland. Indeed, no generals of the Imperial Army thought that they were losing the war in China. The Soviet Union, the most grave potential enemy of Imperial Japan, still kept the the Japanese–Soviet Non-aggression Pact. Put simply, it was the calm before the storm in early August of 1945. And then, a B-29 bomber with the atomic bomb loaded started to fly 2,740 km from Tinian Island to Hiroshima, taking 6 and a half hours on one way. It reached Hiroshima and dropped the atomic bomb at 8:15 a.m., August 6, killing about 100,000 citizens among 350,000 residents only on the day. It is said that total 560,000 people, including those who visited the city after the bombing, were exposed to radiation.

Although the U.S. announced that it had used an atomic bomb over Hiroshima soon after the bombing, the Imperial Japanese Government sent scientists to Hiroshima to confirm that it was really a nuclear attack.  It is true that the Imperial Japanese military had also studied how to make an atomic bomb, but Japanese scientists gave up the idea due to lack of materials and resources.  Even Germany had given up the plan to make atomic bombs in WWII.  So, the concept of the atomic bomb was not new to Japanese elites.  Therefore, Imperial Japanese elites got shocked to see how advanced the U.S. science and technology were.

But, the fanatic leaders of the Imperial Army did not immediately decided to stop the war.  The Emperor and the prime minister could not persuade them to decide ceasefire.  Accordingly, it needed another atomic bomb attack on Nagasaki and invasion by Soviet troops to Manchuria, South Sakhalin, and the Kuril Islands, unilaterally abolishing the Japanese–Soviet Non-aggression Pact, for the Imperial Government, including the Imperial Army and Navy, to decide ceasefire and accept the Potsdam Declaration.  

Accordingly, many Japanese, including the Emperor, were spared their life, although total 3 million Japanese civilians and soldiers were killed, while only less than 3,000 American soldiers had been killed in the Pearl Harbor Attack in 1941.    

Today, Japanese people rather blame the Imperial military more than the U.S. military or the U.S. Government for the damage of the Hiroshima atomic bomb attack, since if the Imperial military had given up the war, as good spirit samurai, before the atomic bomb attack, so many people, including about a dozen of U.S. soldiers having been taken as prisoners in Hiroshima, should not been cruelly killed.

The white blood cells are under control of autonomous nerves.  The white blood cells are directly concerned with immunity against viruses.  And autonomous nerves are influenced by various factors such as weather conditions, stress and pressure on the man, the mind set of the man, his lifestyle, how he feels and behaves, etc. 

In other words, immunity against viruses in our bodies is influenced by our minds.

The basic form of the white cells is macrophages, a type of white blood cell of the immune system that engulfs and digests cellular debris, foreign substances, microbes, cancer cells, etc.  From macrophages, granulocytes and lymphocyte cells are generated, and the former includes T cells and B cells.  In the process of evolution from macrophages to lymphocyte cells, natural killer (NK) cells are generated, which provide rapid responses to virus-infected cells, acting at around 3 days after infection, and respond to tumor formation.

To activate NK cells, perforins (a pore forming cytolytic protein) must be oozed out, but this oozing is under control of parasympathetic nerves.  And parasympathetic nerves, one type of autonomous nerves, cannot be dominant in the state where one feels pressure or stress.  However, when one is relaxed, parasympathetic nerves work well; perforins are oozed well; and NK cells are activated so that they kill virus-infected cells. 

Therefore, the linkage between the mind and the body is provided by autonomous nerves consisting of sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves.  And immunity against viruses are controlled by parasympathetic nerves and white blood cell elements such as NK cells, T cells, B cells. etc.

Put simply, the state of the mind has influence on autonomous nerves and thus the state of the body through connection between the nerves and cells.  It has been proved that laughing lowers the blood glucose level and blood pressure.  And, how you feel and think must influence the immunity level.

The macro state of laughing, relaxing, or other expressions of feeling of the man has an influence on the micro status of cells, such as NK cells, building the immune system.  However, it is not quantitatively clear how much laughing, relaxing, etc. is necessary for enhancing immunity against viruses.  It can be only said that the mind state has an influence on the body and health in general terms.

But one thing sure is that when one is reading the Bible and thinking about miracles of Christ Jesus, he is relaxed and his mind is purified, so that this state must have an influence on conditions of cells useful for immunity.  Accordingly, it is expected that his immunity against viruses must be enhanced.

That is why Christ Jesus said to His disciples, when He sent them out to society for preaching, that if you drank poison, you would not be harmed.  Christ Jesus must have set and regulated mind sets of His disciples into the appropriate state so that immunity of their bodies were reinforced against poisons and viruses.

So, it is interesting to see how many Vatican people or what percentage of Vatican people are suffering from corona-viruses.  Or it is the time for the Pope to prove that he is the genuine and real successor of Christ Jesus and thus he has power to save virus-infected people in the world.  Or any priests in Europe and the U.S. should prove the same.    

Finally, all I can say is to read the Bible, purify your minds, adjust autonomous nerves, and thus activate NK cells, and you would not be infected by corona-viruses. And even if your were infected, you cannot be desperately ill; or even if you became desperately ill, you would not be killed.  And even if you were killed, you would be allowed to enter Heaven.

If We Have Value for the God, He would Save Us from Viruses

When you are loved by family members, friends, and men of good will, you will surely get relaxed without feeling pressure and stress, thus your autonomous nerves work in good conditions.  And then your immunity works properly, protecting you from viruses, disease germs, and cancers.

However, such situations of being loved by all the people surrounding you are comparatively rare in your life.  They cannot be realized in 99% of your life time.  You have always hidden enemies, opponents, abusers, and exploiters in addition to betrayers around you.  You must feel hidden and potential danger among people, thus implicitly feeling pressure and stress, which will break the balance inside your bodies between sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves.  Then your health conditions, immunity, and resistance to cancers will be deteriorated, leading to real diseases.  It is all because every man has the ability to detect and sense feeling and senses of others toward you, since it is important for existence and subsistence of a human being who is a living thing.    

In other words, outer psychological conditions, including a feeling of goodwill and malicious intents toward you, will affect your physical conditions.

So, those who can well and fully endure negative outer psychological conditions physically and psychologically are said to be strong.  Therefore, some people living in stressful society can live longer and healthier than others.  But, there is always a limit.  And it is said that the maximum lifespan of cells in the human body is about 120 years.  No matter how favorable conditions a man may live in, he/she cannot live longer than 120 years or so.

In other words, if you were living among early followers of Christ Jesus, you should feel no pressure and stress, thus keeping good balance between sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves and strong immunity.  You must be able to live up to the maximum age allowed for a human being who is a living thing.

Put simply, as Christ Jesus could work with His love on this mechanism of biological conditions of men, He could cure the sick and save the exhausted.    

If Christ Jesus appeared today, He would surely save people from corona-viruses with His love to infected people, by making them detect, sense, and feel His love and thus reinforcing immunity in their bodies.

Therefore, the largest issue about the corona-viruses is that Christ Jesus is not in this world or He would not come yet to this world for any reason.  So, we have to find the reason.  And my answer is because a majority of people today have sold their souls to Satan who promised them money and worldly happiness, which is abhorred by the God.

Therefore, as long as men pursue material success in this civilization, pursing money and worldly happiness, under pressure and stress caused by one another, while being led by Satan, the civilization or the mankind will collapse by viruses or other disease germs without receiving enough love to reinforce their immunity from Christ Jesus who has been fighting Satan for at lease last 2000 years.      

In the core of this corona-virus pandemic, there is a fight between Christ Jesus and Satan.  And, the God might approve that the mankind who have chosen Satan over Christ Jesus go extinct as they have no value for the God any more.

In other words, for us to be saved from the corona-viruses, we have to show and prove to the God that we have value for Him so that He has to save us.  In this context, to read the Bible is the first step for us to take in fighting against corona-viruses.

Spiritual Power on Feelings/Senses to the Body and Immunity

In our bodies, stress stirs up sympathetic nerves, and when the stimulation continues, granulocytes, a category of white blood cells in the innate immune system, generate more radical oxygen and cytokines, thus suppressing activities of lymphocytes.

Put simply, when we experience chronic stress, we are in the sate where cancer can develop easily, while immunity is reduced so as to assist cancer developing and growing proliferously.  

According to a study by the National Cancer Center of Japan, it was shown that a group of subjects who were aware of being under a higher level of stress had an 11% higher risk of cancer than another group who were aware of being under a lower level of stress.

Researchers described that although it could not be necessarily said that this result was all due to exited sympathetic nerves, stress gave grave influence on the immune systems of our bodies.

 

Indeed, when one feels stress in older days as he encounters enemies such as attacking animals, his body will be prepared automatically for physical fight by exciting cranial nerves and reducing sleepiness while making muscles ready for increasing instantaneous force.  His liver will solve glycogen and increase the blood glucose level to supply energy to muscles and the brain.  

In addition, his breathing gets quickened and rough, trying to get more oxygen into the body by broadening bronchi.  And in order to concentrate blood to important organs, blood pressure will be driven up and peripheral blood vessels are shrunken, so that hands and foots get cold.

In this state, functions of digestive organs not involved in fight will be suppressed with saliva and digestive flood reduced. 

However, these conditions under stress can last for only a short time.  In primitive age, as a crisis such as encountering with an attacking animal occurred relatively rarely or only for a short time, no matter how much pressure the body receives from excitement of sympathetic nerves, it would not become fatal.     

But in this modern era, a crisis for a man continues unnaturally long, but his sympathetic nerves work as they did in primitive age.  So, when a modern man gets under pressure (if not encountering with an attacking animal) that lasts long, he has to endure effect of excitement of sympathetic nerves that was originally designed to prepare for short-time fight as long as the pressure continues.  Consequently, his body will be over-strained.

On the contrary, when one is relaxed, parasympathetic nerves become dominant, lowering pressure, increasing functions of digestive organs, and accumulating nutrition to prepare for a next crisis.  Even, the ratio of lymphocyte cells, necessary for keeping immunity, increases in white blood cells.  

But in this modern era, busy men cannot be relaxed properly or timely.  The balance between the effect of sympathetic nerves and that of parasympathetic nerves can be easily lost.  Accordingly immunity decreases.  And men can become vulnerable to cancer or viruses and other agents of disease.  

The point at issue is that when one feels stress, his sense of crisis is reflected on his body through sympathetic nerves.  But this mechanism was designed very long

 time ago in primitive age or in a period when the mankind was not separated from chimpanzees, so that it is not fit to modern people.

That is why Christ Jesus could heal the sick by making them relaxed through working on their feeling and thus restoring the balance between sympathetic nerves and parasympathetic nerves. 

So the core of the issue is that spiritual activities that can work on human feeling/senses can influence on his/her body.  Therefore, to enhance immunity against corona-viruses of a man, Christ Jesus would direct His spiritual power to his feeling to influence on his immunity.

It was said in early spring that the corona-pandemic would be fading away when summer came with high temperature, high humidity, and strong sun rays that would weaken activities of corona-viruses.  But, when summer came, spread of corona-viruses was further accelerated. 

In the case of Japan, as early summer approached, the infection status was fairly improved, but as the Government took out high alert and allowed more economic activities, acceleration of spread was resumed and more infected people were discovered.

So, it is thought that corona-viruses can well adapt to environment more than predicted.  In this context, it is feared that the viruses might adapt to vaccines now under development.  Therefore, it is better to develop and prepare various types of vaccines to suppress activities of the viruses that can quickly change their features and properties to survive in different environment and against new vaccines. 

If the corona-viruses are more formidable, surviving our counter-measures, we have to more enhance our inherent immunity.

It is well known that our immunity against viruses is mostly based on white blood cells.  And the number of white blood cells increases in the state where activities of parasympathetic nerves are dominant, for example, when we are relaxed and under less stress from work, human relationships, various fears or worries, etc.        

However, it may be more useful to see factors reducing immunizing power.  According to a study by the department of immunology of a Japanese medical university, these factors are (1) aging, (2) underlying diseases, (3) medical drugs suppressing immunity, (4) obesity and excess dieting, (5) sleep deprivation, (6) alcohols, (7) pregnancy, etc.   

And modern Americans look champions in the fields of these factors.  That may be why a quarter of the global victims of the corona-viruses are Americans.

It also means that the U.S. and other countries following the U.S. and adopting American lifestyle are vulnerable to present corona-viruses or new types of viruses expected to come in the future.  

Indeed, Matthew 12 reads as follows:
43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

So, even if we can wipe out this pandemic in this year or next year, it may come back together with seven more mutants with more resistance against vaccines in 2040 or 2050.

   

Especially, Chinese leaders should read and learn the Bible, since China has generated various viruses several times in the history since the Middle Ages.
