Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan has left Tokyo for Davos, Switzerland.
Davos in 1930's and 1940's:

He does not speak fluent English, but I suppose only a few can speak fluent Japanese in Davos, though so many rich people are gathering from Europe, America, Asia, and so on.

CHAPTER I: Rockets and Artificial Satellites

I-1: Overview & Global Trend

Some people wrongly think that China is more advanced concerning rockets and high-speed trains than Japan.

It is wrong, as China was simply helped by the Soviet Union in the rocket field, and stole technology from Japan in the high-speed train sector.

After WWII, Japan developed its own rocket technology without help from the U.S.

Japan has more satellites or payloads in orbit than China has as of 2010.

I-2: International Space Station and Japan's Konotori

Japan is also one of major contributors to operation and maintenance of the International Space Station.

Japan cargo shuttle hooks up with space station
Astronauts use robotic arm to bring in craft laden with supplies

By Denise Chow

An unmanned Japanese cargo spaceship safely arrived at the International Space Station on Thursday, delivering tons of provisions for the station and its crew members...

Station astronauts Cady Coleman and Paolo Nespoli maneuvered the station's robotic arm to grab the cylindrical Kounotori 2 vehicle as it came within 33 feet (10 meters) of the space station. They then worked to attach it to the Earth-facing port of the Harmony module.
The successful capture of Kounotori 2 — also known as the H-2 Transfer Vehicle 2, or HTV-2 — was confirmed at 6:41 a.m. ET.

"We have HTV-2 in our grasp," Coleman said.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41281936/ns/technology_and_science-space

When the Space Shuttle is retired, this Japan's space cargo ship will be the only large-scale means to deliver stuff and materials to the ISS flying around the earth.

I-3: World Top 5 Rockets

Japan's HIIB rocket is one of the top 5 powerful rockets in the world, though China has a No.6 rocket.

Top 5 Biggest Rocket that Ever Created in the World

1. Proton (Russia)
The first Proton was launched in 1965 and the launch system is still used in 2009, which makes it one of the most successful proponents of gravity in space history. It has a height of 53m.

2. Falcon 9 (USA - Space X)
Falcon 9 is a two-stage can be used to orbit; oil and liquid oxygen rocket-powered launch vehicles manufactured by Space X. The rocket is still in development and will be launched in late 2009. This rocket has a height of 178 feet.

3. H-IIB (JAPAN)
H-IIB rocket with liquid fuel is made in Japan that provides a launching system for the main purpose of launching the H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) to the International Space Station (ISS). It has a height of 56m.

4. Space shuttle (USA)
Now here comes with sophisticated machines are the shuttle. Made in the USA, the Space Shuttle is being used to deliver cargo into orbit with a medium-size and operated by a crew of seven men. Space Shuttle has a height about 184 feet.

5. Ariane 5 (Europe - ESA)
Ariane 5's first flight test that failed in June 1996, with self-destruction during the 37 seconds after launch because of damage to the control software, which is undoubtedly one of the most expensive computer bugs in history. This rocket has a height of 193 feet.

(In terms of payloads to be lifted up to a lower orbit, the ranking order is probably Falcon 9, Space Shuttle, Proton, Ariane 5, and HIIB.)

One of the reasons why I believe that the God is angry is as follows:

Egypt has 'conclusive' evidence that Al Qaeda group was behind church bombing

Palestinian militants linked to Al Qaeda are blamed in the New Year's Day attack that killed 25 Coptic Christians. With foreigners named as the culprits, religious tensions may ease.

" hid from ages and from generations" - (Financial Crisis in 2011?))

The Tokyo Sky Tree Tower

crise ici et là

Mencius said:

"Some people say there are black or ominous words.

But, those words are actually not so influential.

Worse are the derogatory words and remarks some people use to prevent a wise man from going up in the world."

So, we may use terms such as a "financial crisis" and "Islamic terror" or "Wall Street" as well as "the flu."

CHAPTER I: Global Risk

The World Economic Forum issued "Global Risks 2011 Sixth Edition, An initiative of the Risk Response Network"

The following is: Figure 1, Global Risks Landscape 2011:
Perception data from the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Survey

http://riskreport.weforum.org/global-risks-2011.pdf

My listing of global potential crises are as follows:

1. The Large Scale Natural Calamity of the Haiti Scale

Due to the great earthquake that hit Haiti a year ago, more than 300,000 people were killed with thousands more deaths due to pestilences that prevailed after the quake.

Tokyo, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Jakarta, and even Beijin can be hit by a great earthquake.

2. Terror of the 9/11 Class

Though major U.S. troops withdrew from Iraq and the Obama Administration is planning the last phase of its Afghan War, Mr. Osama bin Laden is still at large, if he is alive.

On the other hand, Islamic nations now face strong pressure from people for social and economic improvement. It is understandable, since only the Islamic world has no economic power while China, India, and Brazil are developing with strong momentum. If the process of economic growth and modernization of the Islamic world should not go smooth, young Muslims might find a cause to fight against their governments or Western nations that would not help them get rid of poverty.

3. A Burst of the Chinese Bubble Economy

The Chinese economy is not based on freedom, democracy, and justice. Anything horrible can happen in China in a large scale leading to hard landing of a burst of the current bubble.

4. Instability of Global Climate

Too hot summer and too cold winter might be a just beginning of coming instability of the global climate. Even a mini ice age is forecast by some scientists, though CO2 emission is ever increasing due to China, India, Brazil, Russia, and the U.S.

CHAPTER II: Domar Theorem

The financial deficit in Japan has recently resulted in a lower rating of the Japanese Government bonds.

Though the rating business cannot be trusted very much, maybe it is time for the Japanese people to think about the future of Japan.

Of course, some Japanese have already argued the (possible) financial crisis in Japan, using a concept called Domar's Theorem.

This “theorem” states that public finances can be guaranteed to become stable only if the nominal growth of GDP exceeds the rate of interest on debt.

http://www.morganstanley.com/views/gef/archive/2006/20060106-Fri.html

It means that if a growth rate of Japan's nominal GDP is larger than an interest rate of the Japanese Government bond, Japan can avoid the financial crisis.

1) The interest rate for the Japanese Government bond is close to zero.

2) With its strong export potential, nominal GDP will increase.

3) Therefore, financial implosion can be avoided in Japan.

Especially, if one U.S. dollar is evaluated higher at 150 yen, though it is 83 yen now, Japanese export will even surpass Chinese export. In the American market, if a Japanese car is priced at half of the current price, twice more consumers will buy Japanese cars than now.

Nonetheless, it is time for Japan to introduce new economics with issuance of government notes or perpetual bonds.

It is 10 years since the 9/11 Terror of 2001.

So, it is no wonder that Egypt is in a state of quasi-revolution after Tunisia.

A decade before 2001, the Berlin Walls fell and the Soviet Union also collapsed, while Iraq invaded Kuwait triggering the Persian Gulf War.

The contrast between Dubai and Iraq was so stark that every Muslim has observed them, referring to Koran. The outcome is now being manifested in Egypt. But, the true challenge is whether or not Islam can lead the world overcoming American Christianity, though it failed against European Christianity.

By the way, many in Japan are sick with the flu, since Tokyo has been dry for scores of days with little rain and snow, though some other prefectures north of Tokyo are covered by snow. So, snow falling is not so bad as sufficient humidity can prevent an outbreak of the flue. Anyway, God gives health as well as illness to some people in order to manifest His power. Don't you think so?

Yet, you may carry some amulet, in case.

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father" - (China's Features)

Asakusa

Pas une blague

Mencius, an ancient philosopher of China, said:

"Confucius served the Court when he had to do so.

Confucius left the Court when he had to do so.

Confucius stayed away from the Court when he had to do so.

This is the right way for a master.

When the society becomes depraved, a master should leave it.

When the society becomes quiet, a master should perform his way in it.

This is the right way for a master."

This is a teaching that you should not join any violent social movement, such as seen in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tibet, and even many local villages and towns in China, though not so much reported.

CHAPTER I: Alarming Chinese News

According to the Chinese site of BBC on November 9, 2008, the Beijing authority announced that about 20,000 officials of the central and local governments of China ran away to foreign countries with stolen public money which surprisingly totaled 800 billion yuan ($130 billion) since the middle of 1990's.

Recently, executives of the major four banks in China also decamped while illegally and secretly transferring funds in their banks to overseas accounts. Specifically, total 42 branch chiefs and branch executives of the banks left China in the disguise of overseas inspection and holiday trips and never returned. They fled to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the U.S., and Western Europe where their family members were already waiting for them. The total amount of money those bank executives took out is more than $2.23 billion.

CHAPTER II: Alarmed Japanese Cartoons

It cannot be a joke anymore, if China's GDP consists of 10 to 30% of contribution from goods and products produced in China while violating and infringing intellectual property rights of Japan.

Nintendo Says "Heyday" of Video Game Piracy Over, Studies Disagree

By Michelle Castillo on January 26, 2011

Nintendo claims that the new 3DS will have the most sophisticated anti-piracy software out there (and is smartly remaining mum on the details). Not that it really matters though: Nintendo UK general manager David Yarnton told CVG that because of an influx of laws against piracy, the "heyday" of buying illegal games is pretty much over...

This comes out in the wake of the report that the Association of UK Interactive Entertainment (UKIE) estimates that for every one game legitimately purchased, other four are being bought illegally. Even at a 1:1 ratio, the organization estimates it will cost about $2.38 billion U.S. dollars in sales a year and about 1,000 fewer jobs for people in the industry...

Japan's cartoons plundered by pirates
April 3, 2010

Japan's cartoon industry, a mainstay of the country's bid to revive the economy through "soft" exports, is losing $2.4 billion a year to Chinese piracy.

The number represents more than twice what the Japanese animation industry made from total global exports of cartoons and cartoon-related goods during its best year...

Japanese intellectual property rights in China beyond just cartoons, is expected to cause considerable embarrassment to the Japanese Government, which has set a target of earning Y2.5 trillion (£17.4 billion) per year from exported content by 2020.

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/media/article7085459.ece

Those who do not respect the Japanese manga (cartoon) culture do not respect the Japanese super-express train (Shinkansen) technology. Accordingly, China is now selling their version of super-express train systems to the U.S., though the Chinese Shinkansen are based on the technology they stole from Japanese manufacturers.

CHAPTER III: Youth Unemployment Rate

An American professor working in a university in Japan said to The Washington Post recently that Japanese youths have no hope for employment after graduation from colleges, so that the whole Japanese society is in the blue mood and the Japanese people want to put down China rising with great eclat and without any worries, which is a sheer lie.

Then what about China and especially Chinese students? According to a TV report broadcast in Japan, many Chinese students who cannot find jobs on graduation are living with friends and fellows in very humble places in cities, going about getting jobs.

China's Surprising Unemployment Problem
Shaun Rein, 09.07.10, 01:15 PM EDT
The country is failing to properly educate its growing middle class.

Dexter Roberts wrote recently in BusinessWeek that more than 25% of this year's university graduates in China have failed to find a job. Meanwhile executives at nearly a hundred multinationals recently told my firm that their biggest challenge for growth is recruiting and retaining talent. At more than one-third of the big businesses we talked to they said their annual employee turnover is 30%. In the U.S. 11% turnover is considered too costly because of the expense of recruiting and training; 9% is just right for getting new ideas into an organization and getting rid of dead wood.

http://www.forbes.com/2010/09/07/china-economy-unemployment-leadership-managing-rein.html

Though most of Chinese students today do not join riots and strife caused by poor workers and farmers against corporate management and local authorities in China, there is a very grave possibility for their involvement. Indeed, it is said that the number of clashes that happened between those poor people and the police and so on was 100,000 in China last year.

According to a theory, less ice in the Arctic Ocean due to global warming disturbs the flow of the air around the north pole, resulting in movement of the cold air mass to the south, namely Europe, North Asia, and North America.

While the temperature in Greenland is relatively high, Europe, North Asia (including Japan), and North America are suffering low temperature.

Anyway, there are some scientists who predicted last October that this winter would be the coldest one in these 1000 years!

Coldest winter in 1,000 years on its way

Published: 04 October, 2010, 07:20
Edited: 22 October, 2010, 17:34

After the record heat wave this summer, Russia's weather seems to have acquired a taste for the extreme.

Forecasters say this winter could be the coldest Europe has seen in the last 1,000 years.
The change is reportedly connected with the speed of the Gulf Stream, which has shrunk in half in just the last couple of years. Polish scientists say that it means the stream will not be able to compensate for the cold from the Arctic winds. According to them, when the stream is completely stopped, a new Ice Age will begin in Europe.

So far, the results have been lower temperatures: for example, in Central Russia, they are a couple of degrees below the norm.

"Although the forecast for the next month is only 70 percent accurate, I find the cold winter scenario quite likely," Vadim Zavodchenkov, a leading specialist at the Fobos weather center, told RT. "We will be able to judge with more certainty come November. As for last summer's heat, the statistical models that meteorologists use to draw up long-term forecasts aren't able to predict an anomaly like that."

In order to meet the harsh winter head on, Moscow authorities are drawing up measures to help Muscovites survive the extreme cold.

http://rt.com/news/prime-time/coldest-winter-emergency-measures/

Maybe, one reasonable reasoning is that the God is angry at mankind.

Love the God instead of money to get rid of the coldest winter in these 1000 years, at least if you live Europe, North Asia (including Japan), and North America!

A master practicing benevolence, mercy, and justice respects, cares, and loves people in public.

And, such a master is in return respected, taken care of, and loved by people in public.

You must meet your obligation first before blaming others."

CHAPTER I: Energy Use Efficiency

Japan produces steel with input energy less than that any other country uses.

Japanese steel industry is the most energy-efficient and energy saving in the world. But, the U.K. and other European countries are requesting Japan to get more energy-efficient so as to reduce CO2 emitted in the world. Isn't something wrong, since they are too easy on the U.S. and China?

CHAPTER II: CO2 Emission per GDP

Japan emits the least amount of CO2 to the air per GDP among major nations including EU, the U.S., Canada, Korea, Australia, India, China, and Russia.

President Mr. Barack Obama should have declared in the Congress that it is time to aim at Japan but not at China for industrial and technological development.

A spokesman of the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo said in a newly started periodic press conference, "We admit that it is a grave matter that a level of mutual trust has fallen as indicated by opinion surveys in both Japan and China. There is something that we have to feel apologetic for."

The pro-Chinese socialistic Kan Cabinet of Japan failed in three incidents since its start in last June: a proposal of a 5% rise of the consumption tax, its hiding of the video showing violent behaviors of a Chinese fishing boat invading Japan's Senkaku Islands sea area, and the appointment of Mr. Kaoru Yosanao to a minister in charge of financial matters though Mr. Yosano was finance minister in the Aso Cabinet of the pro-American conservative LDP that lost power in the last general election.

Those who do not respect China account for 80% among Japanese voters, nowadays or since the Senkaku incident.

However, the Obama Administration and the U.S. Democrats have virtually rolled out the red carpet to the Chinese National Chairman, praising their economic success. But, everybody knows that China as a matter of fact stole the Japanese super-express Shinkansen technology and the American stealth plane technology.

Anyway, let's see how Chinese workers who are refused payment of their due salary by corporate management are protesting on China streets, since there are many in the situation and they are sometimes violated by corporate management, according to a Chinese Japanese.

CHAPTER I: Energy Efficiency

The U.S. and China are G2 that use fuels, namely coal and oil, to generate electricity more than other advanced countries.

Input Heat Amount for Electricity Generation (the smaller, the better):
JAPAN:...100

UK:...99

North Europe:...104

USA:...114

Germany:...111

France:...103

China:...145

India:...137

(INTERNATIONAL COMPARISON OF FOSSIL POWER EFFICIENCY, 2007)

Chins emits CO2 more than the U.S. in its industrial sector. Accordingly, the U.S. and China are G2 that emits heat-trapping gases more than other advanced countries.

CO2 Emission per Unit of Output in the Power Industry on Generation (the smaller, the better):

France:...16

Canada:...50

Italy:...116

(Energy Balances of OECD Countries, 2004-2005)

In summary, it is absurd that the U.K. and other European nations apply pressure to Japan so that Japan will reduce an amount of oil fuel and emission of CO2, while selfishly proud G2, namely the U.S. and China, are consuming coal and oil as much as they like so as to emit CO2 as much as they like.

Note also that electricity generated from nuclear power plants accounts for 80% of total electric power distributed in France. However, it is potentially hazardous to the environment, especially, in the long run.

CHAPTER I: Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership

One of big agendas being focused on in Japan is as to whether or not Japan should join the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership (TPP).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Pacific_Strategic_Economic_Partnership

The key condition is that member countries should withdraw application of customs duties on imported agricultural products. As this is very advantageous for the U.S. and Australia, they are expected to join TPP whose members include Brunei, Chile, New Zealand and Singapore. TPP also aimes to reduce all trade tariffs to zero by the year 2015.

TPP is an international agreement that is better for a country with a huge agricultural land or a kind of city nation. In this context, it is complementary among these types of countries. But, Japan does not fall in these categories. Yet, as no tax will be imposed on exporting industrial products, the Japanese industrial community is willing to join TPP. The U.S. who wants to export more agricultural products to Japan also wants Japan to join TPP. Accordingly, the Kan Cabinet of Japan has raised this agenda with an intention to join TPP. It is because this socialistic regime is highly supported by the major labor union in Japan, called Rengo, that has a policy to cooperate with corporate management who wants duty-free export to the U.S.

But, many Japanese citizens and critics are against TPP. Especially, Japanese farmers array themselves firmly against TPP. "TPP will destroy the Japanese agriculture sector. It will destroy the Japanese culture based on traditional rice farming," claim opponents on both the conservative and liberal sides.

Among incumbent and potential members of TPP, Japan's average customs duty on agricultural products are high:

Singapore: 0.2%
Brunei: 0.1%
New Zealand: 1.4%
Chile: 6.0%
USA: 5.5%*
Australia: 1.3%
Peru: 6.2%
Vietnam: 18.9%
Malaysia: 13.5%
JAPAN: 11.7%*

Yet, in a wider scope, Japan's average customs duty on agricultural products are not high at all:

India: 124.3%
Norway: 123.7%
Bangladesh: 83.8%
Korea: 62.2%
Switzerland: 51.1%
Indonesia: 47.2%
Mexico: 42.9%
Brazil: 35.3%
Argentina: 32.8%
EU: 19.5%
Malaysia: 13.6%
JAPAN: 11.7%

Ranking of countries in terms of an amount of agricultural production:

1. China
2. USA
3. India
4. Brazial
5. JAPAN
6. France

Ranking of countries in terms of an amount of import of agricultural products (in $billion):

1. USA...74.7
2. Germany...70.3
3. UK...53.5
4. JAPAN...46.0
5. France...44.5

Size of the farm lot per farm household

Australia: 3400 ha
USA: 180 ha
JAPAN: 2.2 ha

Rice is the main staple of the Japanese farming sector. For thousands of years, the Japanese people live on rice but not bread made of wheat. The tariff imposed on rice import is 788% in Japan. If this duty rate should be pulled down to 0%, three million Japanese farmers would be wiped out.

The ruling DPJ led by P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan has less supporters in local agricultural areas in Japan than the conservative opposition LDP. So, the DPJ would pursue TPP, but the LDP might eventually turn down TPP, though the U.S. expects Japan to join it. This can be a big agenda in the next general election in Japan.

CHAPTER II: Poverty in the U.S. and the U.K.

WASHINGTON — The number of poor people in the U.S. is millions higher than previously known, with 1 in 6 Americans — many of them 65 and older — struggling in poverty due to rising medical care and other costs, according to preliminary census figures released Wednesday.

Under a new revised census formula, overall poverty in 2009 stood at 15.7 percent, or 47.8 million people. That's compared to the official 2009 rate of 14.3 percent, or 43.6 million, that was reported by the Census Bureau last September.

If you choose randomly 100 Britishers, 18 of them are not rich at all.
Defining the poverty line as those individuals and households with incomes less than 60% of their respective medians:

- 17-18% of the population are found to be in poverty at any one time consistently, from 1994-2004. Source: BBC News [7]

- In 2003 to 2004, 21% of children lived in households below the poverty line. After housing costs are taken into account, this rises to 28%.[8]

- 3.9 million number of single people in the UK living below the poverty line in 2005. Many of these people are divorced women. (Poverty among single people is not as high profile as that suffered by families and pensioners). Source: The Elizabeth Finn Trust/BBC News [9]

- Nearly 60% of those in poverty are homeowners. Source: BBC News[10]

And, if you choose randomly 100 Japanese, 16 of them are not rich at all.

But, if you choose randomly 100 Chinese, only 3 of them are not rich at all!!

To be rich or richer than your neighbor, you will not simply give your money to your neighbor.

The only way to be rich or richer than your neighbor is not to give your money to your neighbor.

There are no rich persons in the world who become rich while giving their money as much as ordered by Christ Jesus to the poor.

So, being rich and richer than your neighbor is a sin before Christ and before the God.

And, such a sinful person will not be admitted into Heaven.

Logically, poor people should not envy the rich.

La Bataille de Falaise Rouge

Tokyo
Sky Tree Tower
Now 550 Meters High

La Bataille de Falaise Rouge

The Battle of Red Cliffs (Sekiheki-no-Tatakai in Japanese) was one of major battles in the Chinese history which was fought on the Chang Jiang (Yantze River) in AD 208 between one powerful warlord, Cao Cao (So-So in Japanese) who forcibly took over power from the Han court, where he had become prime minister, and other two warlords who tied up to encounter 200,000 mighty troops led by Cao Cao.

It was made into a Chinese film called "Red Cliff" which I saw tonight on TV.

It is said that a shift in the wind decided the outcome of the war, since both the camps tried to burn naval ships the opponent side mobilized.

In addition, Cao Cao (AD 155 - 220) was of the northern origin as with most of his generals and soldiers. Accordingly, many of them got sick due to local disease in the southern areas along the Chang Jiang where they fought. The difference between Norther China and Southern China has been large from ancient days.

The Three Kingdoms period (simplified Chinese: 三国时代; traditional Chinese: 三國時代; pinyin: Sānguó shídài) is a period in the history of China, part of an era of disunity called the Six Dynasties following immediately the loss of de facto power of the Han Dynasty emperors. In a strict academic sense it refers to the period between the foundation of the Wei in 220 and the conquest of the Wu by the Jin Dynasty in 280.  However, many Chinese historians and laymen extend the starting point of this period back to the uprising of the Yellow Turbans in 184.
The three kingdoms were Wei (魏), Shu (蜀), and Wu (吳).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Kingdoms

This era in China is also important for the Japanese history. One outstanding queen of Yamato, Japan, is actually recorded in the Chinese official history book about the Wei Dynasty.

Himiko or Pimiko (卑弥呼, d. ca. 248) was an obscure shaman queen of Yamataikoku in ancient Wa (Japan). Early Chinese dynastic histories chronicle tributary relations between Queen Himiko and the Cao Wei Kingdom (220-265), and record that the Yayoi period people chose her as ruler following decades of warfare among the kings of Wa. Early Japanese histories do not mention Himiko, but historians associate her with legendary figures such as Empress Consort Jingū, who was Regent (ca. 200-269) in roughly the same era as Himiko.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himiko

This is one of the biggest mysteries in the Japanese history. The official history book (Nihon-shoki) compiled around AD 720 did not mention anything about Queen Himiko of Yamato, though Yamato (in Nara Prefecture, south of Kyoto) is the birthplace of the Imperial regime. There are even some theories that claim that Himiko's Yamato was not in Nara but in some prefecture in Kyusyu Island, straightly south of the Korean Peninsula.

Himiko, as a tributary queen, sent envoys to the Wei Dynasty which was then governed by a grandchild of Cao Cao. In return, the king of Wei provided many gifts, including 100 or more special mirrors, with the Japanese queen. Many of those mirrors have been excavated in old tomb mounds in various prefectures around Nara and Western Japan. So, no one doubts historical existence of Queen Himiko, but arguments about where she lived and her court was situated are yet to be fixed.

Most importantly, there is no evidence that Queen Himiko is one of direct ancestors of the Imperial Family of Japan. (If so, the Imperial Family of Japan was once in a dependent position to a Chinese king, which cannot be accepted by Japanese nationalists.)

Anyway, if Cao Cao had been killed in Battle of Red Cliffs, probably the Wei Dynasty must not have been established or would have collapsed soon after the Battle. If so, Queen Himiko in Japan might not have enjoyed strong diplomatic support, though not militarily, from the Chinese Continent, while her regime was also at war with some local kings in Japan. In this case, Himiko's regime in Yamato might have been terminated, which means the history of the Imperial Family of Japan must be drastically changed.

So, though Cao Cao, leading the northern forces of China, lost more than 100,000 soldiers in the Battle of Red Cliffs against the southern and western camps of China in 208, his survival decisively influenced the Japanese history.

"as one that had authority" - (Before Christ and Before Caesar)

At the center of Tokyo...
An old samurai castle lot...
Though called the Imperial Palace Park today.

Une grande guerre, mais scandaleuse

Mencius, an ancient great Chinese philosopher said:

"There are four types of subjects among the people in a kingdom:

The first is the one who is only content with his service to the kingdom as needed by the king, without an ideal.

The second is the one who has an ideal to make the kingdom peaceful and prosperous.

The third is the one who has an ideal to make the world peaceful and prosperous, so that he would start to serve the kingdom only once he becomes confident of the prospect of the nation going to contribute to this ideal about the world.

And above the third, there is a great soul who is only devoted to keeping the right way of living for himself, by which he will influence all the people so that they will come to keep the right way of living."

CHAPTER I: Hannibal

Around 216 B.C., the future Roman Empire might have become impossible, since Rome was about to be besieged and destroyed by a maritime state who sent its genius general to the Italian Peninsula over the Alps.
Hannibal, son of Hamilcar Barca (248–183 or 182 BC) was a Carthaginian military commander and tactician who is popularly credited as one of the most talented commanders in history...

One of his most famous achievements was at the outbreak of the Second Punic War, when he marched an army, which included war elephants, from Iberia over the Pyrenees and the Alps into northern Italy. In his first few years in Italy, he won three dramatic victories -- Trebia, Trasimene, and Cannae -- and won over several allies of Rome. Hannibal occupied much of Italy for 15 years, but a Roman counter-invasion of North Africa forced him to return to Carthage, where he was decisively defeated by Scipio Africanus at the Battle of Zama...

Plutarch states that, when questioned by Scipio as to who was the greatest general, Hannibal is said to have replied either Alexander, Pyrrhus, then himself,[7] or, according to another version of the event, Pyrrhus, Scipio, then himself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hannibal

In the spring of 216 BC, Hannibal defeated 86,000 troops of the Romans at Cannae in the Apulian plain with his troops just half of the Romans'.

After the victory, killing or taking hostages of 70,000 Roman soldiers, Hannibal sent a messenger to his homeland Carthage, asking for reinforcement needed for invasion of the city Rome. But, leaders in Carthage, in response to his urgent request, delivered only 4,000 cavalries and 40 elephants. This reinforcement was ten times smaller than Hannibal expected. Accordingly, Hannibal and the sea port nation Carthage lost the chance to replace the Romans forever.

But, why would not leaders in Carthage fully meet the request from Hannibal?

It is because they did not want Hannibal to be a great hero conquering Rome. They envied Hannibal. They were afraid of Hannibal's rise in the domestic hierarchy of Carthage. They just wanted to Hannibal to give grave damage to Romans so that they could control the Mediterranean Sea. They did not want Hannibal to become a king. From the beginning, Carthage was well know for deplorable social climate of treachery and betrayal. It was a stark contrast to the strong bond of solidarity of Romans.

The Romans used troops consisting of its citizens; Carthage used mercenaries and elephants.

What Hannibal should have been engaged in was his conquest of Carthage, in order to make it a true kingdom of citizens, if mostly consisting of merchants, sailors, and pirates, in addition to North Africans.

From a religious point of view, it is very interesting that Israelites or Hebrews had among themselves no rivals or equals to Hannibal. Ancient Israel never threated the Romans in terms of military power and talent, like Carthage did. But, 2000 years later, it is Judaists that have survived the history due to their religion from which even Christianity emerged to conquer the Roman Empire and its successor modern Europe eventually.

This is a great lesson we should learn.

CHAPTER II: Consideration of Carthage

If I had been a leader of Carthage, I would have rather adopted a bidirectional invasion of the Italian Peninsula: one from the Alps by Hannibal and another from Sicilian by another general. I could also have Macedonians join the campaign toward Rome.

In other word, the historical fact that leaders of Carthage did not take this strategy means that they were not firmly determined to take on Rome. They did not believe that they could finish the Romans. They had no ambition to establish a great empire around the Mediterranean.

With trade over the sea, Carthaginians could be rich enough. They did not have to rule the Italian Peninsula whose major industry was agriculture. But, for the Romans already with the agricultural hinterland in the Peninsula as their base for subsistence, the trading nation Carthage could be a reasonable target for simple military occupation. And, for further prosperity, the Romans needed access to overseas agricultural areas without obstruction by Carthage.

So, the best policy for Carthaginians seems to have been allied with the Romans so as to concentrate on commerce around the Mediterranean. However, as proven by the fact that they could not keep peace with Greeks prior to the wars with Rome, they must have been destined to collide with the Romans. But why?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carthage

It is because they were descendants of Phoenicians: roughly speaking relatives of ancestors of current Arabs.
Phoenicia was an ancient civilization centered in the north of ancient Canaan, with its heartland along the coastal regions of modern day Lebanon, Syria, and northern Israel. Phoenician civilization was an enterprising maritime trading culture that spread across the Mediterranean during the period 1550 BC to 300 BC.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenicia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenicia

This issue must be considered together with a question why ancient Israelites would not advance to the west in the Mediterranean to be a trading state if it had had to make war with Greeks like Carthage. Did not King David and King Solomon have such a potential in their heyday?

Put extremely, ancient Israelites or Hebrews should have replaced Phoenicians and Carthaginians so as to establish another Carthage or Israelite Carthage. Then, Israelite Hannibal should have conquered Rome. They would have moved their capital from Jerusalem to Rome. The whole Mediterranean should have been under power of Israel. Accordingly, Christ Jesus must have been born in Rome.

But, the history tells that no such a glorious scenario had been prepared for Israelites and Judaiats. But why?

It is because their prime ancestor is Abraham, a man from Mesopotamia in the era of the final stage of the Sumerian Civilization. Ancient Israelites must not have been originally relatives of ancestors of current Arabs. It is unthinkable that descendants of Sumerians to have established a maritime empire in the Mediterranean though they would stay on the ground around Jerusalem between Egypt and Mesopotamia.

Conversely, if King David and King Solomon had tried to be another Carthage, they must have been completely destroyed by Romans like real Carthaginians. For Hebrews and Judaists to survive in history, they must not have had an ambitions to conquer the Mediterranean, avoiding a fatal collision with the Romans.

So, we might say that the real fate of Carthage is a once-possible fate of ancient Israel: They could threaten the Romans, pushing them at the brink of total collapse, but it must have been the best they could have achieved in the history.

Taiwanese are kind to Japanese.

A Japanese man living in Taiwan wrote:
"When I ask the police the way to a certain place, they usually drive me to the destination by police car, since they find that I am Japanese.

When I ask the way to a certain place to local people, they often drive me to the destination by their car, since they find that I am Japanese."

Another Japanese man who traveled to Taiwan wrote:
"In an island annexed to Taiwan Island, I was waiting for a bus at a stop. Then a taxi came in, and the driver asked me in Chinese if I would like to take it. So, I said that I am Japanese in Chinese. Then, he said in Japanese to get in his car as he would take no charge. He also drove me around the island, speaking Japanese, since he was studying Japanese. He asked me whether or not his Japanese sounded strange. His Japanese was a little old fashioned, since he was learning Japanese by watching Japanese TV programs broadcast there. He said that he liked watching a Japanese samurai story. Anyway, he guided me all day long without charge. This is just one of good experiences in Taiwan."

Indeed, Taiwan was under Japanese sovereignty from 1895 to 1945. As the Empire of Japan introduced various modern systems into Taiwan, including modern administrative systems, modern education systems, modern industrial systems, and the Japanese language, the Taiwan people have still genuine respect for Japanese.

And, it is not the Chinese Communist Party that introduced various modern systems into Taiwan, including modern administrative systems, modern education systems, modern industrial systems, and the Japanese language, though nowadays only very old Taiwanese could speak genuine Japanese which sounds so polite and proper even to Japanese of today.

Quoi de mieux que l'éloge.

Mencius, a sacred Chinese ancient philosopher, said:

"There is surely some food that everybody admits its quality of taste.

There is surely some music that everybody admits its quality of melody.

There is surely some woman that everybody admits her beauty.

But, there is also some way of living everybody admits its value of virtue.

Sacred men in the world are those who have found the way ahead of everybody."

CHAPTER I: China Review

National Chairman of China Mr. Hu Jintao visited Chicago to show respect for President Mr. Barack Obama.

But, generally speaking, ordinary Americans are not taught correctly about China; American businesses do not mind any domestic problems in China, such as a 100 times more gap between the rich and the poor in China than in America; and American politicians think that China is easy to deal with.

Some American elites and rich men said that everything in the world would be decided by the U.S. and China. As a result, one of the poorest country, North Korea, has developed nuclear bombs and fired at South Korean naval ships and citizens at its will. American naval forces do not contribute to protection of national territories of nations around the South China Sea and the East China Sea. And, the U.S. Government has welcomed the Chinese National Chairman Mr. Hu as if it were welcoming a King of England. American allies and friendly nations have come to doubt Americans: "Did they sell their souls to the Chinese Yuan?"

Friend or Foe? How Americans See China
by Andrew Kohut, President, Pew Research Center
Special to The Wall Street Journal
January 13, 2011

Public interest in China is not just academic. A large majority correctly identifies China as the country that holds the most American debt. Growing numbers of Americans also see China -- incorrectly -- as the world's leading economic power. Pew Research's latest survey finds 47% of respondents citing China as the world's top economic power, and only 31% correctly citing the U.S. In early 2008, the balance of opinion was the opposite: 41% named the U.S., while 30% named China.

As I discussed, China invited many foreign companies into the country by appealing to them with its cheap labor force. Accordingly, half of import and export by China have been through these foreign companies or foreign affiliate companies. In fact, the number of Japanese companies operating their branch offices or factories in China reached 28,000.

According to an analysis, 40% of China's GDP has been produced by foreign companies and foreign affiliate companies making business in China

China's GNP is believed to be fairly smaller in comparison with Japan.

CHAPTER II: China Warning

Warning from Ireland:
Organised Chinese criminals open chain of brothels across Dublin
'Irish Times' advertising to sell sexual services

Monday, 21 July 2008

Human trafficking is now rivalling the drugs trade as the biggest form of organised criminal activity throughout the globe.

The Chinese gangs lead the world with thousands of young people being trafficked internationally.

In the US, the FBI estimate that a healthy young woman, enslaved and working as a prostitute, can produce over a $1m in profit for her masters over a four- to five-year period. After that, they may be deemed to have paid off their "debt" and may be released.

Warning from Italy:
29 JUNE 2010 · 6:54 AM
Chinese Crime Networks Targeted by Raids in Italy

The raids follow growing alarm over criminal activity among the Chinese community. Earlier this month, the Chinese ambassador to Rome travelled to the Tuscan textile manufacturing city of Prato to meet officials after a Chinese employer was shot dead by hooded gunmen and two of his compatriots were hacked to death with machetes in a cafeteria.

Italy’s semi-militarised revenue guard, the Guardia di Finanza, said it had smashed two money-laundering networks which, since 2006, had smuggled back to China some €2.7bn largely amassed by a burgeoning counterfeit fashion industry run by Chinese criminals based in Tuscany.

Many of the firms caught up in the operation used cheap, imported Chinese textiles to produce bogus Italian fashion garments for export to eastern Europe.

Warning from America:
UPDATE 4-NJ says MGM has ties to Chinese criminals
By Deena Beasley
Wed Mar 17, 2010 7:02pm EDT

LOS ANGELES, March 17 (Reuters) - MGM Mirage (MGM.N), accused by New Jersey authorities of links to the Chinese mob, has sealed a plan to exit the weakened Atlantic City market in favor of the booming Chinese gambling center of Macau.

New Jersey's Division of Gaming Enforcement had accused the company last year of questionable conduct in associating with Pansy Ho, the daughter of Macau gambling tycoon Stanley Ho, who they said is linked to Chinese organized crime.

Gambling revenue in Macau, which overtook Las Vegas several years ago to become the world's No. 1 gambling center, rose nearly 70 percent in the first two months of this year. In Atlantic City, hurt by new competition from surrounding states like Pennsylvania as well as the recession, gambling revenue fell 25 percent between 2006 and 2009.

Warning from Vietnam:
Chinese drug traffickers condemned to death
May 31, 2010

VietNamNet Bridge – The Supreme People's Court on May 28 gave a death sentence to five Chinese people who transported nearly eight tons of cannabis resin to Vietnam.

According to the indictment, Chinese citizens A Giai and A Tran met with Lu Ming Cheng on April 22, 2008 to hire him to transport two containers of cannabis resin from Pakistan to Vietnam and then on to Canada for HK$1.5 million. Trinh re-hired Leong Chi Kai at a cost of HK$1.2 million to receive the goods in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province, Vietnam to transport the drugs to Canada.

On April 25, 2008, Lu Ming Cheng, Ngan Chiu Kuen and Duong Chi Giai flew from Hong Kong to Mong Cai to receive the two containers of cannabis at a Mong Cai-based company named Vu Hai Co., Ltd. However, without documents proving their ownership, they couldn’t take the containers.

On May 12, 2008, Lu Ming Cheng, Chan Kwok Kwong, Ngan Chiu Kuen and Leong Chi Kai returned to Vu Hai company and deposited $50,000 to take the two containers, containing nearly 8 tons of cannabis resin, and were arrested.

Warning from the Cyberspace

The top 10 Chinese cyber attacks (that we know of)
Posted By Josh Rogin Friday, January 22, 2010 - 8:57 PM

The Defense Department has said that the Chinese government, in addition to employing thousands of its own hackers, manages massive teams of experts from academia and industry in "cyber militias" that act in Chinese national interests with unclear amounts of support and direction from China's People's Liberation Army (PLA).

1) Titan Rain
In 2004, an analyst named Shawn Carpenter at Sandia National Laboratories traced the origins of a massive cyber espionage ring back to a team of government sponsored researchers in Guangdong Province in China.

2) State Department's East Asia Bureau
In July 2006, the State Department admitted it had become a victim of cyber hacking after an official in “East Asia” accidentally opened an email he shouldn't have.

3) Offices of Rep. Frank Wolf
Wolf has been one of the most outspoken lawmakers on Chinese human rights issues, so it was of little surprise when he announced that in August 2006 that his office computers had been compromised and that he suspected the Chinese government.

4) Commerce Department
The Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security had to throw away all of its computers in October 2006, paralyzing the bureau for more than a month due to targeted attacks originating from China.

5) Naval War College
In December 2006, the Naval War College in Rhode Island had to take all of its computer systems offline for weeks following a major cyber attack.

6) Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez and the 2003 blackout?
A National Journal article revealed that spying software meant to clandestinely steal personal data was found on the devices of then Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez and several other officials following a trade mission to China in December 2007.

7) McCain and Obama presidential campaigns
That's right, both the campaigns of then Senators Barack Obama and John McCain were completely invaded by cyber spies in August 2008.

8) Office of Sen. Bill Nelson, D-FL

9) Ghostnet
In March, 2009, researchers inToronto concluded a 10-month investigation that revealed a massive cyber espionage ring they called Ghostnet that had penetrated more than 1,200 systems in 103 countries. The victims were foreign embassies, NGOs, news media institutions, foreign affairs ministries, and international organizations. Almost all Tibet-related organizations had been compromised, including the offices of the Dalai Lama. The attacks used Chinese malware and came from Beijing.

10) Lockheed Martin's F-35 program
In April, 2009, the Wall Street Journal reported that China was suspected of being behind a major theft of data from Lockheed Martin’s F-35 fighter program, the most advanced airplane ever designed. Multiple infiltrations of the F-35 program apparently went on for years.

The more you are given, the more your have to give.

Christ Jesus said so, and not only a person but also a nation will be judged according to this criterion.

In this context, it is very strange that there are tens of millions of poor people in the U.S. It is more strange that there are millions of rich people in China. And, elites of the two countries have boasted that G2, namely the U.S. and China, would virtually rule the world.

The point at issue is that the U.S. could not even correct simple violation of a WTO rule by China. China has decided not to allow foreign companies to make a bid for development of mines containing rare earths in China. It is reported in Japan that a kind of gangsters and corrupt local authorities in a Chinese province are now monopolizing mining and refining rare earths while contaminating local environment.

The economic success of China is based on grave negligence of human rights, international justice, and environmental care to the degree that Japan, the U.S., and European nations cannot accept and bear. The principle of reaction should surely work in the near future.

However, this China problem is a weird result of the global material civilization of this era. We cannot simply blame China and America.

In early 1960's, while tens of millions of local farmers were starving in China, public officials and party executives reported to Mao Tse-tung that his economic policy resulted in great success.

That is why most of Japanese people do not take China's GDP at face value.

What do you think?)

Concentration des Israélites, la migration des Juifs

In the 5th century, Kumarajiva, a Kuchean Buddhist monk, scholar, and translator of India, came to Changan, the then capital of China, so as to translate many Sanskritic scriptures into Chinese.

Anglo-Saxons started to migrate to the Great Britain.

The Western Roman Empire finally fell under the sword of invaders from the East.

In the 5th century, a king of Japan sent his envoy to the imperial court of the Sung Dynasty of China, asking for official recognition of his title by Sung's emperor, though the Sung Dynasty was soon replaced by another dynasty.

And more importantly, the global cooling that started in the fourth century was going to end in the fifth century.

Anyway, to our surprise, the start of the wide spread of Christianity in Europe coincided with that of Buddhism in East Asia.

Studies Show Jews’ Genetic Similarity
By NICHOLAS WADE
Published: June 9, 2010

Jewish communities in Europe and the Middle East share many genes inherited from the ancestral Jewish population that lived in the Middle East some 3,000 years ago, even though each community also carries genes from other sources — usually the country in which it lives.
...
Ashkenazic and Sephardic Jews have roughly 30 percent European ancestry, with most of the rest from the Middle East, the two surveys find. The two communities seem very similar to each other genetically, which is unexpected because they have been separated for so long.
...
One explanation is that they come from the same Jewish source population in Europe. The Atzmon-Ostrer team found that the genomic signature of Ashkenazim and Sephardim was very similar to that of Italian Jews, suggesting that an ancient population in northern Italy of Jews intermarried with Italians could have been the common origin. The Ashkenazim first appear in Northern Europe around A.D. 800, but historians suspect that they arrived there from Italy.

Section 1 - The United Kingdom of Israel 3000 Years Ago

What was the major event around 1000 BC? Yes, it was King David himself.

Edwin Thiele dates his life to c.1040–970 BC, his reign over Judah c. 1010–1003 BC, and his reign over the united Kingdom of Israel c. 1003–970 BC.[1] The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only source of information on his life and reign, although the Tel Dan stele records the existence in the mid-9th century of a Judean royal dynasty called the "House of David".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David

The most important incident for human beings in terms of religion, culture, and civilization is the establishment of Kingdom of Israel. "It was a union of all the twelve Israelite tribes living in the area that presently approximates modern Israel and the Palestinian territories (Wikipedia)." So, according to the DNA evidence today confirmed, most of current Israelis and Judaists must have all direct ancestors who lived as members of David's Kingdom of Israel.

It means that after the foundation of the Kingdom, there were not many comings of people from other tribes into this major tribe that was consolidated at the time as Israelites, including all the twelve tribes that claimed their ancestral lineages to Abraham. After this grand union, the peoples from the twelve independent tribes must have been communicated and associated closely or evenly with one another to be one major tribe, the Israelites. As a result, a revised DNA pattern must have been formed and fixed with all the factors from the 12 tribes.

Probably, till 1000 BC or for 1000 years after Abraham, each tribe must have preserved and changed their own DNA pattern within the tribe, after each inherited some DNA features from Abraham. Finally, around 1000 BC, diffusion and loss of Abraham's DNA was stopped, Abraham's DNA came to be in total carried by the whole Israelites.

So, it is very reasonable that the DNA evidence has confirmed:
Jewish communities in Europe and the Middle East share many genes inherited from the ancestral Jewish population that lived in the Middle East some 3,000 years ago.

Section 2 - The Frankish kingdom at 800 AD

What was the major event around AD 800? Yes, it was Charles the Great (Charlemagne) himself.

Charles the Great eventually succeeded the Western Roman Empire which however collapsed 300 years ago. Over the era of the Great Barbarian Invasion, the areas today called Italy, France, and Germany were for the first time united under a single ruler.

But, Charles the Great admitted territorial occupancy by the Vatican in areas around Rome. In fact, he was crowned by the Pope as the Emperor of the Western Roman Empire (or at least of the Frankish Empire).

Charlemagne (meaning Charles the Great; possibly 742 – 814) was King of the Franks from 768 and Emperor of the Romans (Imperator Romanorum) from 800 to his death in 814. He expanded the Frankish kingdom into an empire that incorporated much of Western and Central Europe...

He also campaigned against the peoples to his east, especially the Saxons, and after a protracted war subjected them to his rule. By forcibly converting them to Christianity, he integrated them into his realm and thus paved the way for the later Ottonian dynasty.

Charlemagne and his uncle Bernard crossed the Alps in 773 and chased the Lombards back to Pavia, which they then besieged. Charlemagne temporarily left the siege to deal with Adelchis, son of Desiderius, who was raising an army at Verona. The young prince was chased to the Adriatic littoral and he fled to Constantinople to plead for assistance from Constantine V, who was waging war with Bulgaria.

The siege lasted until the spring of 774, when Charlemagne visited the pope in Rome. There he confirmed his father's grants of land, with some later chronicles claiming—falsely—that he also expanded them, granting Tuscany, Emilia, Venice, and Corsica. The pope granted him the title patrician. He then returned to Pavia, where the Lombards were on the verge of surrendering.

In return for their lives, the Lombards surrendered and opened the gates in early summer.

Here are three important points:
1) The Vatican must have already driven Judaists out of Rome before 800.

2) Judaists must have been living in Norther Italy, among the Lombards, before 800.

3) There were some North European tribes, such as the Saxons, who were not so willing to accept Christianity around 800.

Considering them all together, it is very likely that most of Judaists living in Northern Italy moved to the Rhenish regions or Germany where the authority of the Vatican was not so overwhelming at the time. The unification by Charles the Great must have made their great journey possible and safe through the Alps and along the Rhine.

So, it is very reasonable that the DNA evidence has confirmed:
The Ashkenazim first appeared in Northern Europe around A.D. 800, but historians suspect that they arrived there from Italy.

APPENDIX.

Judaists today still keep some DNA traits their ancestors were also carrying 2000 years ago, though it is not a matter how much they share the same DNA with Christ Jesus.
Genetic studies on Jews
In a study of Israeli and Palestinian Muslim Arabs, more than 70% of Jewish men and half of the Arab men whose DNA was studied inherited their Y chromosomes from the same paternal ancestors who lived in the region within the last few thousand years.

Approximately 30% to 40% of Jewish men are in the paternal line known as haplogroup J and its sub-haplogroups. This Haplogroup is particularly present in the Middle East, Southern Europe, and Northern Africa. Furthermore, 15 to 30% are in haplogroup E1b1b (or E-M35) and its sub-haplogroups.
...
Studies of mitochondrial DNA of Jewish populations are more recent and are still debatable. However, it seems that there is no maternal lines common to all Jewish people.

Today, the Japanese media started to announce that China is going to officially report more GDP than Japan for 2010.

The Japanese people take it cool, since they all well know China and Chinese.

As there 28,000 Japanese businesses are now operating its business fully or partially in China, Japan directly contributes to 30 to 50% of China's GDP.

In my estimation, some 10 million Japanese jobs have been transferred to China. This is the secret of the Chinese miracle success.

Ms. Condoleezza Rice was being interviewed on TV, of course, in America today.

She looks having been so glad, in her office in the State Department, to see that America has at last a "black" president.

Yes, Saddam Hussein's Iraq was different from the Soviet Union equipped with far more deadly weapons.

But, would President Mr. W. Bush have ordered to invade Iraq if Iraq had had then some nuclear bombs?

And, is China's control on its nuclear weapons as trustworthy as the USSR's or Russia's?

President Mr. Barack Obama should persuade China to abandon all the nuclear weapons it has now.)

Joh 1:20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

Joh 1:21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

Joh 1:22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

Joh 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
