"My Works unto the End"

"My Works unto the End"

(Ame-nimo Makezu)

The copyright on works of Kenji Miyazawa, a great Japanese author, expired in 1983, since he died in 1933.

The title of this one of the most famous poems in the Japanese literary history is "I Will Face Rain" in my translation version, though laterally it means "I never succumb to the rain."
So, it goes:

I WILL FACE RAIN
Kenji Miyazawa

Face a rain;
Face the wind,
Pressing biting pain
On me firmly facing them forward.

Anger nowhere;
Ambition nowhere,
In my manner;
Quietly smiling is all my air.

Taking a humble meal,
Thinking every meaning,
On every occasion,
Hoard it all but self-justification.

My translation version for the latter part and the appendix is omitted, for some reasons.

A young French-speaking Canadian woman has recently made her dream come true.

She was chosen from 3,186 candidates, mostly Japanese girls, to be a title-song singer of animation works in Tokyo, according to The Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper.

So, as a Japanese, I may sing in my own way some of lyrics created during the era of the Great Depression in Japan, such as Amenimo Makezu wriiten down in 1931.

Finally, find somebody now writing something respectable as it is an era of the quasi-Great Depression.

(When I was young, listening to some song, I felt like being a future author or something like a hero myself, though I often enjoyed Manga comics and drank Coca Cola, since no McDonald hamburger shops were all around...

Savez-vous, ma princesse, qu'ils appellent McDonald "Makudo" à Paris?

Rev 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

Rev 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Rev 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
