"rather seek ye the kingdom of God"

TIME TO GIVE UP OR TAKE FINAL ACTION?

Everybody must have made a hard decision in the past year.

However, if a direction is wrong, whatever decision would lead to fiasco eventually.

If a direction is right, a temporary outcome does not matter if materially success or not.

Look up at the sky and the sun, and you will know that the earth has run around the sun over a six times or more longer distance than the one between you and the sun this year.

Indeed a direction is at issue, since it is a precondition of righteousness.

SECTION I: THE MAN OF 2009

The Man of 2009 in the U.S. is Mr. Michael Moore with his film "Capitalism." Michael Jackson and Mr. Tiger Woods follow him, though having enjoyed American capitalism a bit little too much.

The Man of 2009 in Japan is Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama who turned over the defacto half-a-century ruling by the Liberal Democratic Party on the 2009-30-8 election with his colleagues of the Democratic Party of Japan.

Yet, recently some key supporters for P.M. Mr. Hatoyama seem to be disappointed not only because of his bush or amateurish handling of his millions-dollar assets used in his political activities but also because of relationships with very veteran politicians Minister Mr. Shizuka Kamei and DPJ champion Mr. Ichiro Ozawa who are speaking so loud over the media nowadays.

It is unknown how long P.M. Mr. Hatoyama can sustain his Cabinet. But, as one of ministers of the Abe Cabinet committed suicide before the 2007 Upper House election due to heavy attacks focused on his political money scandal by the DPJ, P.M. Mr. Hatoyama might eventually follow the similar pattern to that of former P.M. Mr. Shinzo Abe of the LDP.

Former Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe held up his principle "Restore Beautiful Japan" based on which he carried out some reformation in the Japanese educational and administrative regimes. But, unfortunately he was forced to resign the premiership due to illness.

Present Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama asserted his dream of "Fraternalism" based on which he has flown to Korea, China, and India. But, unfortunately he might choose early resignation as he has involved his mother, a daughter of the founder of the great tire company Bridgestone Corporation, in the authorities' investigation into his questionable political money handling.

(However, His Majesty the Emperor invited to lunch the Prime Minister and his Cabinet members a week ago or so...)

SECTION II: MENCIUS

The mother of Mencius (Mo[u]shi in Japanese), a great Chinese philosopher (372 – 289 BCE) of the era of Alexander the Great, changed her residence three times.

When she lived near a temple, her child Mencius played a funeral game. When she moved near a market, her child Mencius played a merchant game. When she moved near a school, her child Mencius studied so hard as she wished.

Accordingly, this anecdote is still well known in Japan today as "Mo-bo San-Sen (Mencius' mother's three-times relocation)."

Mencius said that there are two types of kings:
"One who establishes his hegemony relying on armed forces and another relying on his virtue."

Only a big country can survive eventually, if it is led by a king relying on armed forces. Yet, his kingdom will face endless challenges from other nations also relying on armed forces. Peace is indeed difficult to be expected to come and stay.

But, even a small country governed by a king relying on his virtue, charity, and righteousness can stand for very long time while receiving respect even from peoples of other nations.

The former is called hegemonism and the latter the rule of right.

SECTION III: Logic of Economics

If an event A causes an event B, it is expressed as "A-->B."

In this convention, a typical logic of economis is as follows:
A-->B
B-->C
C-->A
Accordingly, "A-->B" in a new cycle results in a different state of B.

If A is a measure to decrease an unemployment rate B, the decreased unemployment rate has an influence on C which in turn effects A. As a result, an unemployment rate can be increased to the initial state of B.

Therefore, in the long run, an unemployment rate will be settled at a constant level after passing through the above cycle or cycles.

The point at issue is of course related to definition of A, B, and C as well as definition of an effective range of this logic.

Insufficient definition and wrong judgement of the effective scope make their theory useless in improving the society.

*** *** *** ***

Is Japan truly going to slight the U.S. under the Hatoyama Administration or the regime of the Democratic Party of Japan?

Some Asians are really worrying.

However it is not a right judgement. It is a kind of natural consequences of 65 years of peace for Japan. In these 65 years, no Japanese self-defense personnel have been engaged in war or battles. Though North Korea is now equipped with nuclear bombs, Japanese people come to think that it is time to review American military presence inside Japan.

It does not mean that Japan is going to be another China in terms of national security of the U.S., having nuclear missiles covering Washington D.C. and requesting a defacto G2 alliance. It is rather to correspond more flexibly to situations in Asia where poor countries are afraid of China and the U.S. It is to help poor Asian countries more effectively from arrogance of China and the U.S.

For example, Japanese Suzuki Motor Corporation is now the No.1 car maker in India while Japanese Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. sells more cars in China than in Japan. Asia accounts for 28.6% of all the Japan's direct oversea investment, while North America 15.4%.

Diplomatically and economically Japan is going liberal, though domestically very conservative under the surface.

In turn, America must be also going liberal and more Christian, in my humble view.

Luk 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

Luk 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
