"In the beginning was the Word"

(This is the sun of January 1, 2010; This is Mt. Fuji of January 1, 2010. What else do you expect to see?)

Symmetry and Asymmetry

Dubai is situated in the middle of Baghdad, Tehran, Kabul, and Yemen.

The distance from Dubai to each other location is almost the same, in the global scale.

Have any Muslims said that Allah wants wealth and peace to be distributed from Dubai to Baghdad, Tehran, Kabul, and Yemen?

SECTION I: HAITI

A young Haitian said, "Nowhere to work here. You cannot be even forced to be a thief, since there is nothing to steal here."

One of the reasons why the U.S. cannot be praised is that the super power cannot even help Haiti develop economically.

If the U.S. helps duly those poor Caribbean countries as well as central American countries, American GDP will surely fall by 10% or so.

Japan has helped Taiwan, South Korea, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and even North Korea develop their economy. Accordingly, Japan has to experience deflation for so long, since Japan has to invest so much in those countries and import their inexpensive goods so much rather than boost up Japan's domestic demands.

It is partly to protect natural environment of Japan. Too much industrial development was about to harm the Japanese land to an irreversible degree in 1990's.

Yet, it is very strange or sinful that Haiti and Dominican Republic share the small island, while speaking French and Spanish, respectively, without any hope for prosperity though situated so close to America.

(That is why Japanese conservative people often say, "Look at those countries once occupied by the Empire of Japan. They are all prosperous now to a reasonable extent. So-called Japan's colonization is so different from that by America, France, Spain, and the U.K. The Empire of Japan introduced modernization to those countries and invested more than it exploited before WWII." There might be some exaggeration, but Taiwan with the world second tallest building is far better than Haiti and Dominican Republic today, as you know.)

SECTION II: Japan in 1960's

The world changed so drastically when it left its 1960's compared with when it had entered its 1960's.

At the beginning of 1960's, American citizens and students believed that American leaders in politics and economy respected Jesus Christ as much as they did. But, at the end of 1960's, they did not.

In 1960, Sony established Sony America in America.
In 1961, Sony went public on the American market as the first of Japanese businesses.
In 1963, Sony's president Akio Morita and his family moved to America to live.
In 1968, Sony established Sony UK in London.
In 1970, Sony established Sony GmbH in Germany.

At the beginning of 1960's, some Japanese people thought Japan would further grow economically as much as Italy sooner or later.

Tokyo Olympic Games were indeed held in 1964, following 1960 Rome Olympics.

In 1969, the Japanese Gross National Product (GNP) ranked No.2 in the world following the U.S.

Yet, unlike at the beginning of 1960's, universities and colleges in Japan were popularized in a large scale for the first time in the Japanese history in the late 1960's, thus changing the landscape of Japanese social structure from high-school graduate dominant society to university graduate dominant society as demonstrated by the student movement in late 1960's which was essentially different from the similar movement in early 1960's led by elite students and laborers over security partnership of Japan and the United States.
