Not a Leaking Day but a Day of Truth
(Pas un jour qui fuit, mais un jour de vérité)

Since China started reform and opening-up of its economy and individual economic activities in late 1970's, total 4,000 public officials ran away from Chinese law-enforcing authorities to live abroad with illegally obtained money. The total amount reached $50 billion, meaning $12.5 million per public betrayer and 13 public betrayers per year.

However, it is only this April that the Chinese Communist Party started to reinforce management of elite Party members by revising regulations of public announcement of their incomes. (http://www.recordchina.co.jp/group.php?groupid=41659)

If this sort of information is all made public to Chinese citizens, there would surely eruupt another revolution in China.

So, the right way to judge the WikiLeaks incident is to regard it as the start of a kind of revolution, though it is now colored by immoral actions.

Yet, no information has been revealed about whereabouts of Mr. Osama bin Laden and the truth of emergence of various 9/11 conspiracy theories.

SECTION I: China's GDP, Senkaku, and Nanjing Claims

Finally, what the U.S. Government should not hide was exposed: false GDP of China.

The Truth About China's GDP
By CAITLIN DICKSON | December 07, 2010 12:08pm

China's famously booming GDP statistics are, according to yet another WikiLeaks cable released last week, not exactly real. Li Keqiang, a senior Chinese official and rumored front runner for the prime minister's chair, is quoted in the cable as having referred to the country's GDP numbers as "man-made" and "therefore unreliable."
...
This revelation might seem shocking, but those who have followed China's economy closely are not surprised to find out the books have been cooked.

Called It! "Anyone watching China should know the numbers are very edgy," Robert Wenzel writes, referring to his own a recent blogpost on Economic Policy Journal in which he wrote, that "China's real estate market appears to be on the edge of breaking down. It is very difficult to get reliable numbers out of China, so it is often best just to look at the anecdotal evidence."

Not Exactly News Economic reports on China have hinted at something fishy for past couple of years. Yves Smith at Naked Capitalism agrees that, "this WikiLeaks release, like so many others, is not news to anyone who has been on this beat," and links to some of the articles that have kept her in the know.

It All Makes Sense Now James Pethokoukis at Reuters makes the connection between China's fictional statistics and previous reports of ghost towns and giant empty malls that create the impression of a thriving population and commercial culture.

Look Out, Assange Tracy Alloway at Financial Times Alphaville warns that "WikiLeaks, fresh from angering US authorities, might be about to incur the wrath of China's economic establishment."

As I once wrote, the only reliable data about China is the amount of US Treasury notes China has purchased from the U.S. And, the U.S. Government must have more accurate data and information about the state of the Chinese economy than most of Chinese leaders.

Even two years ago, it was discussed based on commonsense by some expert:

The Truth About China's Growth
Published on January 22, 2009 by Derek Scissors, Ph.D.

Almost every year, all Chinese provinces report larger GDP gains than the already-published national "average."
...
Official data on the economy are whatever the Communist Party wants--close to the mark, too low, or too high.[2] While surety is impossible, the available evidence indicates true growth for 2008 is far lower than officially announced.
...
Sales of residential real estate plunged an unprecedented 21 percent through November.[6] What are Chinese consumers buying? Not imports. Import volume--the only verifiable element of consumption--fell 8.8 percent in the fourth quarter.
...
Individual Chinese are said to be both spending and saving much faster than they earn.

The Chinese economy's last serious slump was during the Asian financial crisis. It is now widely accepted that official GDP growth for 1998 and perhaps 1999 was heavily exaggerated.
Evidence was first found in power consumption growth, which dropped like a stone in the late 1990s while GDP growth merely moderated. Last year was 1998 all over again.

Now that you have found that China's GDP cannot be trusted, you had better check their claims on the Senkaku Islands and the Nanjing tragedy.

SECTION II: China's Senkaku and Nanjing Claims

Please note the following key points:

1) Okinawa people living islands two to four times closer to the Senkaku Islands than continental Chinese have been active fishing and sailing in the sea around the Senkaku Islands in these 1000 years, namely even before Okinawa officially and politically belongs to the central government of Japan since the late 19th century.

2) China's main claim is based on descriptions about the Senkaku Islands in books drawn up 500 years ago or during the Ming Dynasty. They claim that many Ming books identify the Senkaku Island as a territory of the Ming Dynasty. However, there are only several or a few books made in the era of Ming that clearly describe the Senkaku Islands. And, there are no descriptions that the Ming Court set the boundary in the East China Sea around the Senkaku Islands. They were mostly reports of Ming's envoys to the then tributary Okinawa Kingdom or books written by local authorities based on needs for defense of coast areas from Japanese pirates who did not mind any borders. And there are much more old Chinese official books written in the era of Ming and Ching where the Senkaku Islands are excluded from descriptions and maps specifying administrative jurisdiction. Anyway, reports and books issued 500 years ago cannot not justify the modern international claim if not substantially supported by continuous efforts. In fact, no Chinese have ever lived and worked in the Senkaku Islands but Japanese did.

Please refer to a past EEE Reporter posting on the Senkaku Islands.

Now that you have found that China's claim on the Senkaku Island cannot be trusted, you had better check the Nanjing tragedy.

SECTION III: China's Nanjing Claims

First of all, the Empire of Japan had no intention to launch an all-out war agaisnt China in 1930's.

Biased history textbooks all read that the Empire of Japan strated to attack Shangahi and subsequently invaded the Chinese Continent as symbolized by the Nanjing massacre.

But, the truth is that Chinese troops strated to attack the then international city Shanghai where tens of thousands of Europeans, Americans, Judaists, and Japanese, in addition to 3.6 million Chinese citizens, were all living in peace and prosperity under protection of thousands of police and military troops of European nations, the U.S., and the Empire of Japan.

Yet, there were some German generals sent by the Nazi government to China to help Chinese generals and politicians make war against the Empire of Japan. Two of them were Seeckt and Falkenhausen.

Johannes Friedrich "Hans" von Seeckt (22 April 1866 - 27 December 1936) was a German military officer noted for his organization of the German Army (Reichswehr) during the Weimar Republic.

In the presidential election of 1932 he wrote to his sister, urging her to vote for Hitler.[11] From 1934-35 he served as an adviser to Chiang Kai-shek. But on returning to Germany from China he became disillusioned with Hitler.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_von_Seeckt#Later_years

Alexander Ernst Alfred Hermann Freiherr von Falkenhausen (October 29, 1878 – July 31, 1966) was a German general. He was the head of the military government of Belgium from 1940–44 during its occupation by Germany in World War II...

In 1930, von Falkenhausen retired from service and went to China to serve as Chiang Kai-Shek's military advisor. In 1937 Nazi Germany officially allied themselves with the Empire of Japan, whom by then had launched a war against the Republic of China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The Nazi party, as a goodwill gesture to Japan recognized the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo and withdrew German support to China, including forcing Falkenhausen to resign his advisor post by threatening to have his family back in Germany punished for treachery...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_von_Falkenhausen

But, the truth is very different. Despite the Anti-Comintern Pact concluded by the Empire and Nazi Germany in 1936 and the Tripartite Pact concluded by the Empire, Nazi Germany, and Italy in 1940, the German Government preferred to tie up with China after WWI where the Empire fought against Germany to take over the latter's colonies in East Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

Accordingly, Nazi Germany sent scores of generals and officers to China to help build military and provide weapons in return to trade of some minerals, such as tungsten.

As even Japanese today do not know well of this German support for China in the Japanese-Chinese War in 1930's, especially around Shanghai and Nanjing, a Japanese author wrote a book on this issue: "The Sino-Japanese War was Planned by Germany"

http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%97%A5%E4%B8%AD%E6%88%A6%E4%BA%89%E3%81%AF%E3%83%89%E3%82%A4%E3%83%84%E3%81%8C%E4%BB%95%E7%B5%84%E3%82%93%E3%81%A0%E2%80%95%E4%B8%8A%E6%B5%B7%E6%88%A6%E3%81%A8%E3%83%89%E3%82%A4%E3%83%84%E8%BB%8D%E4%BA%8B%E9%A1%A7%E5%95%8F%E5%9B%A3%E3%81%AE%E3%83%8A%E3%82%BE-%E9%98%BF%E7%BE%85-%E5%81%A5%E4%B8%80/dp/4093878145

Anyway, Chiang Kai-shek ordered 850,000 troops to attack Shanghaj to occupy the wealthy half-independent city and drive out Japanese. German generals and officials trained Chinese troops, equipped them with German and European weapons, and guided them in building bases and trenches around Shanghai. Chiang Kai-shek and German generals expected that Tokyo would dispatch reinforcements to Shanghai; the world would pay strong attentions; and Chinese troops would destroy Japanese troops, so that finally China would become a strong enemy to not only the USSR but also the U.S.

Yet, after severe battles from Shanghai to Nanjing in several months, Chiang Kai-shek lost 333,500 troops. Chinese leaders and German military advisors all lost face. Then, they started to claim to the world that Japanese troops killed 300,000 innocent citizens in Nanjing. Meanwhile, Chiang Kai-shek left for another inland city Chongqing and Germans returned home.

If you look at the battles from Shanghai to Nanjing in 1937, you would be surely surprised at how incredibly strong Imperial soldiers were. But, all the more, Chinese are afraid of Japan even today. They feel so compelled to continue to shout false criticisms against Japanese even today, since they lost 333,500 troops from 850,000 mobilized against 5,000 Imperial marines with subsequent reinforcements of 250,000 troops, 300 tanks, 500 military planes, and 130 Imperial Naval ships in 1937.

No ancestors of President Mr. Barack Obama were slaves in America before victory of the Lincoln Administration.

So, I think that it is far easier for European Americans to accept Mr. Obama as their president than, say, Mr. Colin Powell and the like. Yet, it is not known how much living conditions of other African Americans are improved since the start of the Obama Administration. If President Mr. Obama eventually should not be so good as expected even for African Americans, his reelection in 2012 might become a little more difficult. America might start to look for more traditional value in presidential candidates in 2012. In this context, WiliLeaks or the like might have some influence on the election.

All I can say, based on my experiences in computer and telecommunications technologies, is not to trust telephones, mobile phones, faxes, computers, the Internet, the world wide web, and e-mails. They are essentially for engineering use and business applications. They are not basically designed to provide safety for ordinary people.

So, it is important to have a talk face-to-face.

Indeed, if you have an excellent skill of a face-to-face interview, you can live on it for 25 years in CNN, BBC, NHK, or the like.

So, it is important to have a face-to-face talk skill. But where do you learn it? In a synagogue, a church, or a mosque? And, no way in Harvard and The New York Times!

Finally, please tell the President as a message from EEE Reporter that he should finally issue an executive order not to put African Americans in prison ever!
