"over against Galilee" - (News to Heed)

Around Tokyo Bay...

News to Heed (Nouvelles de tenir compte)

October 7, 3761 BC is the epoch (origin) of the modern Hebrew calendar.

And around 4000 BC, Ur, an ancient key city of Mesopotamia, started to be expanded in a large scale.

Put simply, Judaism must be a derivative of Sumerian religion.

SECTION I: News of Today

1. Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan officially confirmed his intention to resign as prime minister in the assembly of lawmakers of the ruling DPJ today. Accordingly, the DPJ will elect the new head of the party on the next Monday. Then, at the end of August, the new prime minister will be voted for in the national parliament.

PM Mr. Kan has been requested to step down in these months for his inability to fix the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident problem and delay in recovery in tsunami devastated areas. His recent approval rating is around 15%.

2. For the first time, it was observed that a black hole is taking a star into its mysterious domain. The rare space phenomenon was studied in cooperation with Japan and the U.S.
The Monitor of All-sky X-ray Image (MAXI) on Kibo, in coordination with the gamma-ray burst satellite Swift (USA), observed the instant that a massive black hole swallowed a star for the first time in the world, located in the center of a galaxy 3.9 billion light years away. This result was published in Nature online, issued on August 25 Japan time. The title of the paper is "Relativistic Jet Activity from the Tidal Disruption of a Star by a Massive Black Hole".

Back in June we reported on the black hole that devoured a star and then hurled the x-ray energy across billions of light years, right at Earth...The innermost gas in the disk spirals toward the black hole, where rapid motion and magnetism create dual, oppositely directed “funnels” through which some particles may escape. Jets driving matter at velocities greater than 90 percent the speed of light form along the black hole’s spin axis.

3. Japanese Electric Giant Hitachi is going to tie up with the local government of Saskatchewan, Canad, in development of nuclear technology directed to small-sized power generation and medical applications.

Canada is one of the largest producers of Uranium. The state of Saskatchewan is the center of Canadian uranium mining.

SECTION II: Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia

There is a big difference between civilization developed in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, though skills of agriculture are believed to have been brought to the Nile river region from the Euphrates river valley.
Mesopotamia, unfortunately, did not have a seasonal flooding from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which would force them to create an organized agricultural system. This would explain their negative view of the afterlife and the general mood of the gods. Egypt, nevertheless, stood along the fertile soils of the Nile River valley, which provided a familiarized flooding. This allowed the Egyptians to see the universe as orderly and beneficial. So sacred this afterlife that they believed in preserving the body at death for the journey to the afterlife by the process of mummification. The Mesopotamians, fearing to disappoint the gods, believed that their purpose was to serve the gods and thus religion played a more important role in government. Priests, for example, were much more prominent than in Egypt. No matter the situation, both civilizations thrived in agriculture.

Astonishingly, the religious feature in ancient Mesopotamia is very akin to that of Judaism.

It is said that there were three reports among those presented in a recent conference of the American Astronomical Society that focused on the coming of the mini glacial age.

Some scientists think that the mini glacial age might start around today or by 2021. It could be the one called the second Maunder Minimum as Maunder Minimum continued from 1645 to 1715 when the sun showed virtually no sunspots.

And, very ironically, to cope with expected coldness, nuclear power generation might gain more attentions. Conversely, mankind has to develop new energy sources that can deliver equal power to the nuclear energy but without any potential danger to humanity.

Anyway, this summer should be reviewed later in terms of global warming or cooling. It is so, since a big climate change 4000 years ago is thought to have been a major cause of Abraham's family leaving Ur, Mesopotamia. If so, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all derivatives of a great climate change that happened 4000 years ago.

Luk 8:26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
Luk 8:27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
Luk 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
