Every 10 Years after 1945

Every 10 years after 1945, when WWII ended, Japan faced some grave incidents even in its relation to the world.

I think it is necessary just to make a note about the following incidents:

In 1945, the Empire of Japan surrrendred to the US and other allied forces after Hirsohima/Nagasaki atmic bomb attacks and the invasion of the Soviet Union to Manchuria.

In 1955, Sony luanched its first tarnsisitor radio.

Morinaga Milk Industry Co., Ltd. caused an arsenic poisoning incident as its milk products contained arsenic, harminng 13,000 children, including 130 deaths.

In 1965, anti-Vietnam War movement was started with establishment of Beheiren by young liberalists.

Japan and South Korea normalized their relationship.

In 1975, Queeen Elizabeth II visited Japan.

The Emperor and Empress visited the US.

In 1985, Japan Airlines Flight 123, a Boeing 747SR, crashed on Osutaka Ridge, 150 km northwest of Tokyo with 15 crew members and 505 of the 509 passengers on board dead.  It was the world largest air accident as an accident involving only one airplane.

A criminal group intimidated food companies such as Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd. and Morinaga Milk Industry by poisoning their foods in convenience stores mainly around Osaka.

In 1995, the Hanshin-Kobe earthquake killed 6,000 residents in regions adjacent to Osaka, the largest city in western Japan.

The Aum Shinrikyo cult launched sarin gas attacks in Tokyo subway lines, killing a score of people and damaging 6,000 commuters.

In 2001, Al Qaeda attacked New York and Washington DC with hijacked commercial airpalnes, killing 3,000 people, including 24 Japanese.

In 2004, the off-Sumatra earthquake caused a big tsunami to kill 220,000 people.

In 2005, Pope John Paul II died.

Anti-Japanese demonstration happened in Beijing, China, with 10,000 people.

A train accident occurred in Amagasaki, near Osaka, killing 107 passengers.  It greatly shocked metropolitan residents in Japan.

In 2011, the off-Norheast Japan earthquake caused a big tsunami to kill 18,000 people.

In the wake of the tsunami, the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant ran into a big accident with explosion at three reactor buildings and a large scale radioactive contamination.

The leader of Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, was killed by US commandoes.

In 2015,...



The future is still unknown.  But, Japan has really entered a challenging period with all other nations in the world, since it is 2000 years after the emergence of Christ Jesus.
