May You Receive the Same Blessing!

(Former Russian President Mr. Boris Yeltsin has died of a heart disease at the age 76. His then counterpart in Japan, former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto died at 68 of a certain disease last year.

A great drinker, Mr. Yeltsin, and a lover of smoking, Ryutaro Hashimoto, made great efforts to resolve the issue of the attribution of the Northern Territories of Japan but failed.

Ryutaro Hashimoto's successor Keizo Obuchi died of brain infraction at 62 while he was in office of the prime minister in 2000.

Keizo Obuchi's death gave a great chance to a political faction to which present Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as well as the former Prime Ministers Junichiro Koizumi and Yoshiro Mori belong.

Now Mr. Shinzo Abe plans to visit the U.S. soon. US President Mr. George W. Bush and Mr. Abe are expected to have important talks on various issues, including future of the world.

I hope that they will also discuss achievement of longevity of world citizens, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, and so on.

I don't mind if they talk over alcohol and cigarettes.

But, nowadays, I only smoke when I am alone, spending 2.7 dollars (320 yen) or so for a pack per day, just like a fool who can be only cured when he meets his end as Japanese people jokingly and fondly said in old days.

[Now, good girls do not smoke. Good boys do not fire a gun. Good politicians talk about people's health. EE(E) Reporter will soon discuss the War on Terror again.])
