"they might cast him down headlong" - (Europeans or Japanese?)

Europeans or Japanese?

The basic condition for a nation to succeed is:

1) Being a member of the European Civilization, or

2) Being Japan or sharing some key cultural aspects with Japan

Therefore, EU members, other European nations, Anglo-Saxon nations, the U.S., and Russia have succeeded materially to a certain extent or a full extent. Israel has also succeeded as a unique member of the European Civilization.

Naturally, Taiwan, South Korea, and China are coming out well as they have shared some key aspects of the ancient Chinese Civilization and the Buddhism with Japan. They can absorb well advanced and westernized civilization of the East Asia version Japan has developed through its hard efforts in learning and adopting the European Civilization since the late 19th century. On the cultural traditions of the ancient Chinese Civilization and the Buddhism and also on the unique Japanese culture, Japan has established its own modern civilization, so that those East Asian nations can easily import the technological, business, and institutional products from Japan without denying their own traditions.

(The Chinese industrial success of today was made possible by those Chinese youths who have came to Japan to learn modern science, technology, and economy since the late 19th century but not by those who went to Europe or America for study.)

Yet, the success of China has opened a new era of success for other nations that do not fall in either category above mentioned. Everybody now expects that India, Brazil, South Africa, and Indonesia would emerge as an economic power each sooner or later.

But, what about the Middle East? Indonesia is an Islamic nation, but it is so close to East Asia and Japan. No strong Christian nations are around Indonesia. But, around the Middle East, there are Israel and strong European Christian nations that would rather suppress rise and prosperity of Islamic nations.

What about African nations? South Africa is not racially fully anti-European. Descendants of European immigrants constitute the core of power of South Africa.

And, what about Central and South Americas? Brazil can be very exceptional, since the people speak Portuguese but not Spanish.

So, it is very unthinkable that a princess of England could marry an Islamic Egyptian, no matter how rich he might be through his family business with American or European super-rich men.
