"Jesus sat at meat in the house" - Nuclear Disaster

Nuclear Disaster (catastrophes nucléaires)

Pious Muslims never plan to hire suicide pilots for suicide attacks with hijacked commercial jet planes.

If pious Muslims think that Christianity is a threat they will try to overwhelm Christianity with virtue of Islam.

And, Americans are not trying to overwhelm Islam with American Christianity.  Americans buy crude oil cheap in the Middle East, sell weapons in a huge amount, and invite oil dollars into the American money market.  Everything Americans are doing in Islamic nations is capitalistic business.  But, it is only the elite in the Arab nations that can deal with rich Americans.  Poor Muslims are of no use for rich Americans.  Even, those out of the establishment in an Islamic nation are of no use for Americans, since such Muslims have no power and influence on crude oil business and oil dollar management.  So,  alienated Muslims can find an enemy in rich Americans as well as elite Muslims in their countries.  It is all capitalistic feud.

Indeed, though America invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, few Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan have converted to Christianity.  Those who fled to the U.S. from Iraq in the wake of the Iraqi War never convert to American Christianity.  But, they use dollars without hesitation.

The lesson to learn from the 9/11 terror is that the era of conflict between Christianity and Islam is over.  Now we have to know that we are in the era of conflict between power of money and believers of the God or Allah.

Anyway, I am very sorry for 3,000 victims of September 11, 2001, including scores of Japanese who were then working in their office in the World Trade Center.

But, who were the most shocked to hear the news at the time?  The Pope?

SECTION I: Fukushima Worse than Chernobyl?

It is said that the largest radiation level measured arund Chernobyl was about 3.7 million becquerels since its nuclear power plant exploded in 1986.

However, density of radioactivity in a smaller area around Fukushima Daiichi is higher than that in a wider area around Chernobyl.  It is because Fukushima reactors were more robustly built and protected than the blown-off Chernobyl reactor which had no containment vessel.  Yet, some hot spots in the northwest of Fukushima Daichi show higher doses than  3 million becquerels as indicated in the red area in the map below.

So, the Fukushima Daiich accident is worse than Chernobyl?  Yes in a sense, but the affected area is restricted.  And no one has died in the Fukushima Daiichi accident while thousands died from radiation doses in Chernobyl while trying to contain radioactive fuel and material inside the old plant Russians designed and built.

SECTION II: Can China Manage 45 Nuclear Power Stations?

China now runs 13 nuclear power plants.  It has a plan to build 32 more nuclear power plants some of which are actually under construction.

The point at issue is whether the Chinese Government has ability to operate them all in a safe and reliable manner.  For example, the Chernobyl accident was 100% man-made while the Fukushima Daiichi accident was triggered by an magnitude-9.0 earthquake (the greatest scale in 1,000 years for Japan).

Even in 2010, China lost 2,433 workers in coal mines due to accidents.

China is also the largest polluting country with sulfur oxides.

The amount of dust emission in China is also alarming.  Many Chinese who visit Japan are surprised to see how the sky looks blue in Japan.  In Chinese cities, a blue sky is something rare.

In addition, the fatality rate in traffic accidents in China is 10 times higher than Japan's and 6 times higher than America's.

Of course, the recent high-speed train accident in China with scores of deaths is stark contrast to Japan's shinkansen super-express train safety record with no deaths over half a century operation.  China could not steal safety from Japan, though it violated Japanese patents on a high-speed bullet train.

Appendix. Opium War

The international incident that most affected the Empire of Japan was the Opium War (1840-1842) between China (the Qing Dynasty) and the U.K.

At the time, Japan was under the Tokugawa samurai regime and not yet to open the country fully to the world.  The Japanese people then regraded Qing as the great military power.  But, they saw Chinese and Manchu troops were overwhelmed by U.K. fleets and troops.  It was a great shock to the elite samurai.  They understood superiority of Western weapons and technology.  Accordingly, samurai Japan gradually started to change its policy to open the country to fully import advanced Western products, including arms and related systems.

By the 1830s, crime had become widespread in the nation as its men, in particular, sought out the drug. Families starved when their providers fell victim to addiction. In response, the Chinese government banned the use and importation of opium.
This ban angered the British, who believed they already had a trade imbalance with China. The Chinese exported much tea to Great Britain and America, so the British wanted China to buy their opium in return. When China refused to allow opium imports, the British declared war and sailed their military fleet to Canton, arriving in June of 1840.
Thus began the first of two "Opium Wars," known in Great Britain as "The War for Free Trade." The conflicts occurred from 1839 through 1842 and again from 1856 to 1860. When the wars ended, the combination of peasant rebellion and British military might had brought China to its knees.

So, samurai forces in Japan started to change themselves to modern or European-style military machine in the late 19th century to be one of the five great military powers in the world in half a century.

Mat 9:10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
Mat 9:11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
