Jesus Christ, the Roman Governor, Judas, and We
When Jesus Christ was arrested by Roman soldiers, all of His followers ran and hid with a shudder of horror.
How then can you blame Judas who might have been caught by terror, when he might have been coerced into cooperation with the Roman Governor and subsequently leaders of Israelites in power 2000 years ago?
As long as there is even the slightest possibility for Judas to have been intimidated with a death threat, you should not blame and judge him.
If Jesus Christ had saved the life of Judas, under a death threat by Romans, by sacrificing Himself through acceptance of accomplishment of the plot in which Judas played the significant role, Judas could be regarded as the most beloved follower by Jesus Christ, though ironically.
I mean there is such a probability of our inexcusable mistake in dealing with Judas.
Judas was given some silver coins, but as he realized that he had been manipulated and duped by the Roman Governor, he committed a suicide, in my interpretation.
Jesus Christ cannot be such a religious leader as would commit mistakes in choosing right staff.
There is an unpardonable possibility that mankind has been trapped by the Devil for 2000 years.
But, then, who should take responsibility, in company with me?
Am I alone facing the Roman Empire?
(If the Roman Governor had been an admirer of Jesus Christ, he would not have arrested and judged Him. The Roman Governor would not have done so, especially since Judas, a nameless, poor, and powerless man, and leaders of Israelites 2000 years ago, with less bargaining power to Romans than King Herod had, acted on their own initiatives from their own emotional and business interest and thus appealed to the Roman Governor. Besides, why did the Roman Governor himself interrogate Jesus Christ in person? Weren't there other officers? What was the grave threat to the person of the Roman Governor?
Wasn't there any lesson Romans had learnt form the wars Cleopatra had brought down on them 60 years ago, just like WWII to the present day?)
Maybe I am not alone, now.

Jesus Christ, the Roman Governor, and Judas
Judas might have been a spy more critically working for the Roman Governor than for leaders of Israelites in power 2000 years ago.
(If Judas had not worked for Romans, he might have been executed by Roman soldiers, which Jesus Christ must have well realized, in my personal interpretation.)
Romans were more sophisticated than Israelites at the time.
(Even today, Vatican is famous for its excellent intelligence work.)
What's more, even Cleopatra could not achieve remarkable political maneuvering in Rome where she stayed when Caesar was assassinated.

When the Roman Governor interrogated Jesus Christ asking whether He was the King of Israelites, Jesus Christ answered, "So you said."
It means that Jesus Christ knew that the Roman Governor had known, through his spies, that He had been called so by some of His followers.
Jesus Christ must have known who was whose spy assigned to Him.
(The meaning of His words "he should not have been born" is also deeper, and probably, more compassionate.)
One of such spies might have been Judas who might have also offered cooperation with leaders of Israelites in power, following an order by Romans.

A dialogue between a former officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and a former chief correspondent in Washington D.C. of NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) was published recently.
The former officer, a specialist in intelligence on Russia, told that every reasonable country stations elite intelligence officers in Tokyo.
Tokyo has been famous as a key city for international information gathering among people in this profession, one instance of which was a situation in Tokyo on and after September 11, 2001, according to them.
An elite spy should take on a residence in a prime location in Tokyo. It must have a space enough to have a party and invite VIPs. Such a residence will monthly cost US$10,000. The total costs for operating one elite spy in Tokyo would be 400,000 dollars per year, according to their dialogue.
(The President of NHK gets a salary of 300,000 dollars per year, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan gets a salary of 250,000 dollars per year.)

For a very long time, there have been no lows in Japan to ban espionage conducted by foreign agents and arrest or expatriate them. Tokyo has been a paradise for spy rings.
But, it has been a very costly paradise.

Jesus Christ did not call any woman to follow Him as long as the Bible says.
On the other hand, if they had not been called directly and individually to follow Him, those men to be revered later as Apostles might not have spontaneously followed Him.

According to one theory, there were 40,000 residents in Jerusalem when Jesus Christ lived.
(Another theory claims that there were two million Israelites in Palestine around the first century A.D.)
There might have been 400,000 Israelites in the region near Jerusalem and Galilee.
(For instance, today 10 percent of the Japan's population lives in Tokyo Pref.)
Jesus Christ might have spoken to two men in the morning and two other men in the afternoon in average; then he could directly preach about 4 men per day the gospel. Then 1,460 men per year. About 4,000 men during His mission. Or 2,000 men and 2,000 women.
It accounts for 1% of the population. However, as it includes minors and infants, all the grown-ups must have heard a rumor of Jesus Christ in the region near Jerusalem and Galilee 2000 years ago.
But, records about his face-to-face preaching are not many in the Bible. Only scores of direct conversations are recorded.
There must be about 4,000 independent conversations, between Jesus Christ and a man or a woman, which are unfortunately not covered in the Bible.
Besides, while there are "four independent reports" about Jesus Christ, their contents are very similar, leaving 4,000 encounters untold.
If you think I got one figure too many, there are 400 encounters untold, which still makes the identical contents of the "four independent reports" impossible.
This is a big mystery. However, it might tell how the "four Gospels" were edited and compiled.

If you are a rich and happy woman, probably you might not.
But, even if you are a rich and happy man, still you might think you have to.
(Buddha was a rich and happy prince, but he abandoned all.)

In that case, please try to record your conversation with Him and report it for future generations.

But, any woman or man should not try to master a skill or a magic just to make others follow her or him for her/his own profits.)

As reported and discussed in the CNN program viewed this morning in Japan, the US Vice-President Mr. Dick Cheney was hospitalized for a blood clot in his left leg.
It was also reported by Japanese media.
I am awfully sorry for his situations while he has heavy responsibility to people relying on him.
I hope, as the same mankind, that all of you in a hard professional life will not become ill and suffer physically and psychologically.

This morning, a question and answer session in the budget committee of Japan's Parliament (Diet) was broadcast, though I just checked it partly; the live coverage from the Diet Building is also planned in the afternoon.
A Japan's fiscal year begins in April when the fresh from college start to work in a new business suit.
Everybody is busy nowadays in Japan to make the end meet or process backlogs.
However, we have to keep up the pace in our holy mission.

The Governor of Tokyo
Governor of Tokyo Mr. Shintaro Ishihara was reelected in 2003, winning three million votes or more specifically 3,080,000 votes.
(New York Mayor Mr. Michael Bloomberg received 753,089 votes in 2005.)
Mr. Ishihara is going to run for his third term in the highest public position in Tokyo Prefecture this spring.
(There is no such a post as is officially called the Mayor of Tokyo. More correctly, there is no such a city as is officially called the Tokyo City. The Governor of Tokyo Prefecture presides over all the 23 wards located in the center of Tokyo Prefecture as well as other cities, towns, and villages in the prefecture. Anyway, Tokyo has been the capital of Japan for 400 years.)

Mr. Ishihara is not only the most popular politician in Japan with a strong tie with the central Government, but also a prominent author and an elder brother of the deceased, prominent actor.
He is regarded as being a more nationalist than Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe whose deceased father had been a friend of Mr. Ishihara's.
Mr. Ishihara is sometimes accused, by liberal people, of expressing a sense of too much superiority to Koreans, Chinese, and even French.
On the other hand, though he has many friends in the U.S. and seems to be highly trusted by the US Government, he has sometimes candidly manifested his displeasure at Americans' arrogance.
(He once wrote that he had clearly pointed at America's racism like a man or samurai, when he had been interviewed in the U.S. by a young beautiful American female TV reporter without surrendering himself to her charm.)

Mr. Ishihara, when he was 12-years old or so at the end of WWII, experienced an air raid by the US Navy. One of US carrier-based fighter planes, from a sky of a Pacific coast near Tokyo, swooped down and fired at him running and trying to hide in a farmland.
He survived in a whole skin, and later won a prominent literary award, when he was a university student learning French literature after WWII, which paved the way for his success in politics. He was elected as a Diet lawmaker and also became a Cabinet minister.

On September 11, 2001, the Tokyo Governor was in Washington DC and about to move to New York.
He did not especially articulate his opinions about the War on Terror, but as a political ally of former Prime Minister Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, he seems to be not against the US military operations against terror at all.

Only God knows if Mr. Ishihara wins the coming election for the Governor of Tokyo, taking up challenges of younger candidates.
But, unlike Mr. Bloomberg who has a brilliant record of success in information business, Mr. Ishihara with a backbone of an author has to be honest to his idea, instinct, and literary style.
He is a type of leaders very different from aggressive military-oriented ones in and before WWII.

To understand Japan may be to understand the Governor of Tokyo who is directly elected by voters in the largest constituency for an official post in Japan.
I am not so sure about how much helpful this introduction is for you.
But, peace begins with understanding personality of others; and you should not fail in understanding a person such as the Governor of Tokyo, two of whose sons are also Diet lawmakers.
(I have no personal relation with the Governor of Tokyo. I seldom read what he writes. But, I admit that he represents one of powerful groups in our society.
Do you have such personal connections, for example, in New York? But, then, for what? To get fast financial information such as Bloomberg U.S. Internet Index?)

Defense of the Defense Minister
Defense of the Defense Minister
Last month, the US Vice-President visited Japan.
However, he did not meet, to surprise of many concerned, the Japan's Defense Minister who has occupied the position of chief of defense twice in this decade.
It aroused various arguments and suspicions among Japanese political communities and media, though no one has asked the Defense Minister to resign.
It is true that Japan's Defense Minister expressed, in various occasions since he took up the post again last September, plain-spoken opinions against US policies regarding US Marines bases in Okinawa and the War in Iraq.

The incumbent Japan's Defense Minister, when he was first in the post in the era of the Bill Clinton's Administration, met with Ms. Madeleine Albright, then US Secretary of State, while she was actively working in the Far East.
In my view, though I am afraid of being very subjective, the relationships between the two were not good. I suspect that the Japan's Defense Minister could not well cope with the US Secretary, probably psychologically.
(However, it is interesting that our Minister looked like feeling easy, when he met current US Secretary Condoleezza Rice in Tokyo.)
It may be an underlying cause for his critical comments on the U.S. defense policies today, probably based on his personal experiences that have nothing to do with world strategies of the two allied countries, the U.S. and Japan.

This is one example. Misunderstanding can happen anywhere. We need a principle that supersedes temporary judgment on emotion and behaviors.
Especially, when the U.S. engages in battles in Iraq and Afghanistan, it will be important to dispel any misapprehension that may happen mysteriously even between the U.S. and Japan.
One thing US citizens should know is that as so many Japanese politicians and top businessmen are very nice and unbelievably friendly to the US Government, sometimes Japanese voters and media support reasonable criticism against US policies which is candidly expressed by Japanese elites.

It is well known that the former teacher of US Secretary Ms. Condoleezza Rice is the deceased father of former US Secretary Ms. Madeleine Albright, an exiled professor.

Last month, the US Vice-President visited Japan.
However, he did not meet, to surprise of many concerned, the Japan's Defense Minister who has occupied the position of chief of defense twice in this decade.
It aroused various arguments and suspicions among Japanese political communities and media, though no one has asked the Defense Minister to resign.
It is true that Japan's Defense Minister expressed, in various occasions since he took up the post again last September, plain-spoken opinions against US policies regarding US Marines bases in Okinawa and the War in Iraq.

The incumbent Japan's Defense Minister, when he was first in the post in the era of the Bill Clinton's Administration, met with Ms. Madeleine Albright, then US Secretary of State, while she was actively working in the Far East.
In my view, though I am afraid of being very subjective, the relationships between the two were not good. I suspect that the Japan's Defense Minister could not well cope with the US Secretary, probably psychologically.
(However, it is interesting that our Minister looked like feeling easy, when he met current US Secretary Condoleezza Rice in Tokyo.)
It may be an underlying cause for his critical comments on the U.S. defense policies today, probably based on his personal experiences that have nothing to do with world strategies of the two allied countries, the U.S. and Japan.

This is one example. Misunderstanding can happen anywhere. We need a principle that supersedes temporary judgment on emotion and behaviors.
Especially, when the U.S. engages in battles in Iraq and Afghanistan, it will be important to dispel any misapprehension that may happen mysteriously even between the U.S. and Japan.
One thing US citizens should know is that as so many Japanese politicians and top businessmen are very nice and unbelievably friendly to the US Government, sometimes Japanese voters and media support reasonable criticism against US policies which is candidly expressed by Japanese elites.

Very Appropriate Color of Hair and Eyes
A yesterday's Newspaper in Japan presented an interesting letter to the editorial from a reader, a corporate worker at his late 30's.
According to the letter, an international exchange body in a local city tried to hire an English teacher for an English conversation course.
They specified a type of teachers they wanted: a foreigner with blond hair and green or blue eyes.
(A Japanese regulation in principle forbids discrimination in employment, but there are various cases and conditions in its application.)
The classified advertisement had been posted on a billboard of the facility where the international exchange body had its office for half a year.
But, due to some complaints pointing at racism hidden in the expression of the advertisement, the body pulled it back, according to the letter to the editorial.

You can easily reason the motivation of the international exchange body for specifying such physical conditions.
Japanese people are well aware that the mainstream of civilization of the contemporary world is the American/European Civilization. They like a typical of British or Americans, or otherwise the AngloSaxons for future relationships probably mainly in business and culture popular or classic.
(Of course, there are some influences of Hollywood.)

A traditional image of a beautiful woman in Japan is that with a porcelain-white skin and glossy and abundant black hair, though a Western type of beauties has been popular especially after WWII.
(A brown skin is also liked by youths as a symbol of a lively and sporty life under the Sun. Much golfing or drinking alcohol has the face of a Japanese businessman burnt.)
I mean if all the "white" men in America have a black skin, and all the "black" men in America have a white skin, there will be surely some diehard Japanese who want to hire a foreigner with blond hair and green or blue eyes for their preference.

Anyway, there are many Japanese who are against a classified advertisement wanting a foreigner only with blond hair and green or blue eyes.
And, it is also a fact that such voices made an international exchange body feel ashamed.

But, why are there such various colors for a human skin?
From a theological point of view, it is for the glory of the God to appear.
(We will leave the color of a skin, when we leave this world. But, meanwhile we have to make the best use of it, even for mental health.
And, I like the colors of your hair and eyes, for confirmation, which seem to be a God's choice.)

I don't know if the so-called Jesus' tomb and bones some media reported theatrically the other day has anything to do with yesterday's fall of stock prices in the world market.
But, if God is unpleased with such a modern people's handling with Jesus Christ, anything could happen in the world money market.
It must be part of Christ's warning on false Christ.

Roughly speaking Islam was established in the early seventh century.
It is the era when Persia was gaining power more than ever and fighting the Eastern Roman Empire over the territories such as Egypt and Syria.
Yes, the key is Persia which had fought ancient Greece and the Roman Empire for 1000 years. With exception of Alexander the Great, no other power could conquer Persia.
More importantly, Christianity was stopped in its diffusion to the east at Persia at that time.
But, as soon as the religion Islam was established as the one sharing the same racial root with Israelites (however, Israelites must have been of Sumerians before they became Semitic-Hamitic, that is Akkadian) and Arabs were united under the religion, Arabs ventured into the war against Persia and defeated it for the first time decisively, as if following a divine will.
The defeat of Persia was so awful that Persians accepted the enemy's religion Islam. It is a big surprise when considering the past overwhelming dominating position of Persians over Arabs that the former came to believe in the God of the latter.

Islam was provided for Arabs at the critical moment when they looked like going to completely loose their ancient glory as Akkadians, a partner of Sumerians when having built the Mesopotamia Civilization.

Stock prices dropped in Shanghai. Then, values significantly fell in the New York market. This morning the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) also followed the downturn trend to the degree comparable with a drop in stocks triggered by the 2001 9/11 Terror.
There have been many various arguments in Japan about the state and prospects of Chinese economy. Japan is virtually the largest stakeholder in Chinese economy.
China has no tested economic and financial structure, including the bond market. Its accounting system and rules are too unique or weird. Its economy is mainly bolstered by its cheap labors, significant investment from overseas, and lucrative offer of various technologies from Japan.
In conclusion, if inflation starts in China while raising salaries of workers, control of money supply will be very difficult. It is expected that China has to suppress inflation by slowing down its economic growth. Its capital markets will be adversely effected so that stock prices will drop in Shanghai; then, value will significantly drop in the New York market; and Tokyo will also follow the downturn trend.
The U.S. should cooperate with Japan to keep Chinese economy safe and sound to all. Do not let them use the money market as a weapon to intimidate Japan and the U.S.

My concern is, however, why Islam was established at a certain time in history and in a certain region of the world.
(It should be also noted that there are 130 million Muslims in China, while there are seven million Msulims in the U.S.)

One of drastic effects the 9/11 Terror in 2001 has had on Japan is that many citizens, especially those concerned with politics, media and business with the U.S., have become customary viewers of international TV news channels.
Even a secretary of a former Japan's Prime Minister said that he has a TV always switched on in his office to check international news reported by CNN and BBC since September 11, 2001.
These news programs are in most cases provided for Japanese audience via optical fiber cables and with an interpretation or translation service. They are also used for English education in schools and homes. Even some reporters of a first-rate Japanese newspaper company seem to write an article for the next day's release just following a story of CNN or BBC.

Today's big issue was discovery of the tomb of Jesus Christ.
Last year, I was troubled with the novel "Da Vinci Code."
This year, am I going to be troubled with Americans being excited by the discovery of the tomb of Jesus Christ?
Considering graveness of fear, awe, shocks, desperation, and affliction the first believers felt to the death of Jesus Christ and taking into account the great sense of relief, hope, salvation, recovery, and wonder the first believers felt to resurrection of Jesus Christ, you absolutely need the most non-nonsense scholars, specialists, experts, politicians, believers, and reporters to deal with this matter.
I mean no money and no profits should be involved in dealing with this matter.
(In a false-religion market in Japan, there are many victims who are cut to the bone financially, though the concept of false Christ is well-known in Japan.)
Otherwise, Muslims simply lose their non-nonsense concerns to Christianity, which might be a real threat to the peace of the world after September 11, 2001.

People need His blessing.
His pious followers today are more important than any human bones if they are true bones of ancient saints.
Especially, if He is God, He can create His bones as many as possible, which is work of God.

A Half Year Test for or in 2001
Mr. Souichiro Tawara, a Japan's famous TV program host, interviewed the prominent policy secretary of former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, and published the dialogue in a special edition of a magazine.
(As Mr. Tawara is also a busy author and political analyst, his TV appearance is usually once a week unlike "Larry King Live.")

When Mr. Isao Iijima was employed 35 years ago as secretary by a young Diet lawmaker named Junichiro Koizumi, he could not see his new boss for half a year.
But, in the meantime, Mr. Iijima in his late 20's was going about various chores in a Mr. Koizumi's humble office in Tokyo.
Mr. Iijima everyday took a seat at a desk in front of his only colleague, a senior female secretary called Ms. Koizumi, who seemed to be a remote relative to Mr. Koizumi or so; but she was the very person who had actually recruited Mr. Iijima.
But, one day at last, Mr. Iijima met young Diet lawmaker Mr. Koizumi who came back to his office for the first time in half a year. But Mr. Koizumi just passed by Mr. Iijima to his own room almost without saying anything.
(Mr. Koizumi seems to have worked in a series of local elections of his colleagues in the party in his election district, just 30 miles west of Tokyo.)
Ms. Koizumi, the veteran female secretary, told Mr. Iijima to go and greet with his boss. So, Mr. Iijima knocked on the door and went into the boss's room, expecting some substantial conversation. But, young Diet lawmaker Mr. Koizumi, then 30 years old or so, just said a word or two; and their first meeting ended.
Later, Mr. Iijima found that the veteran secretary Ms. Koizumi was actually his boss's elder sister (in steps of whose deceased father her younger brother followed).

Twenty-eight years later, namely in 2001, Mr. Junichiro Koizumi became Prime Minister of Japan.
Still today, Mr. Iijima, after having served Mr. Koizumi as Political Secretary of the Prime Minister, is serving his boss, a House of Representative member Mr. Junichiro Koizumi.

This kind of stories is not so common in Japan: half a year's no-see of one's own boss while being supervised by a boss's sister without knowing who she is.
But, without this half year, there could not have been 28 years later Japan's Prime Minister Koizumi, a friend of US President Mr. George W. Bush who seems to have been also tested in 2001, and Prime Minister's Secretary Mr. Iijima and Ms. Koizumi.

When Mr. Isao Iijima was employed 35 years ago as secretary by a young Diet lawmaker named Junichiro Koizumi, he could not see his new boss for half a year.
But, in the meantime, Mr. Iijima in his late 20's was going about various chores in a Mr. Koizumi's humble office in Tokyo.
Mr. Iijima everyday took a seat at a desk in front of his only colleague, a senior female secretary called Ms. Koizumi, who seemed to be a remote relative to Mr. Koizumi or so; but she was the very person who had actually recruited Mr. Iijima.
But, one day at last, Mr. Iijima met young Diet lawmaker Mr. Koizumi who came back to his office for the first time in half a year. But Mr. Koizumi just passed by Mr. Iijima to his own room almost without saying anything.
(Mr. Koizumi seems to have worked in a series of local elections of his colleagues in the party in his election district, just 30 miles west of Tokyo.)
Ms. Koizumi, the veteran female secretary, told Mr. Iijima to go and greet with his boss. So, Mr. Iijima knocked on the door and went into the boss's room, expecting some substantial conversation. But, young Diet lawmaker Mr. Koizumi, then 30 years old or so, just said a word or two; and their first meeting ended.
Later, Mr. Iijima found that the veteran secretary Ms. Koizumi was actually his boss's elder sister (in steps of whose deceased father her younger brother followed).

Twenty-eight years later, namely in 2001, Mr. Junichiro Koizumi became Prime Minister of Japan.
Still today, Mr. Iijima, after having served Mr. Koizumi as Political Secretary of the Prime Minister, is serving his boss, a House of Representative member Mr. Junichiro Koizumi.

This kind of stories is not so common in Japan: half a year's no-see of one's own boss while being supervised by a boss's sister without knowing who she is.
But, without this half year, there could not have been 28 years later Japan's Prime Minister Koizumi, a friend of US President Mr. George W. Bush who seems to have been also tested in 2001, and Prime Minister's Secretary Mr. Iijima and Ms. Koizumi.

Are you spending a nice weekend? It is now 10 a.m., Sunday, in Japan. A famous socio-economic-political interview TV program, whose host may be regarded as a Japanese Larry King but more establishment-oriented, is about to begin. Today, bullying in schools seems to be one of topics.
When I was younger, or so much younger than today, I often drove in weekends.
Passing through express ways through the center of Tokyo was often thrilling on a holiday when traffic jams, a customary thing on a business day, are less.
However, I myself stopped to be a car owner quite a sometime ago and began to rely on a more convenient vehicle.
(In Japan, it is said that judges never drive. Any minor traffic accidents can happen to anybody in a country of a size of California, 70% of which is mountain terrain [not tropical jungles], but with 72 million cars and 120 million population.)

I read "The Sky Is Falling" by Sidney Sheldon, following divine guidance, whether you believe or not.
Besides helter-skelter of the story, there are two noteworthy points.
American readers apparently love to find evil in prominent figures such as a senator, an ambassador, or super-rich people.
American readers apparently love to see and discover goodness in a female professional such as a master of TV ceremonies or a model (maybe as a reaction to various troubled ladies recently focused on in a US TV interview show).
Anyway it was a moral play, after all.
The wife of Sidney Sheldon reportedly said to her husband that he was a genius.
Any writer would be happy to here such admiration even from his own wife.

Another underlying point of the story is Russia.
In the story, Russians were secretly selling dangerous weapons, including Plutonium.
But, it was written before the War on Terror and the sharp increase in oil prices.
Taking into consideration various bloody incidents concerning Russian politics and economy, the story might be hitting a point.

Why "Paulus?"
Why "Paulus?"
Around 36 A.D., when Saul was on his way to Damascus to arrest followers of Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ from the spiritual world talked to him: “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
Saul later changed his name to Paulus (meaning "small" in Latin), the origin of names of many contemporary Pauls and Paulas, and set the foundation of the most powerful religion Christianity.

But why was he chosen by Jesus Christ?
It is because he was the most ascetic man in the era when the glory of Alexander the Great had gone and the Roman Empire reached a dangerous level of arrogance with its first Emperor established, which foretold coming destruction of glorious independence of the race and religion of Israelites.
To conquer the Roman Empire, where public morals were corrupted enough and going to be more corrupted, He had to choose the most ascetic person.
On this line in its core principles, Christianity had developed into Europe and later America, influences of which still remain in hearts of some pious Europeans and Americans.
But, 2000 years later, the public morals of Europe and America seem to be at risk, due to commercialism and addiction to money, in the stark contrast to, perhaps, Islam.

Followers of Jesus Christ conquered the Roman Empire that was an extension of the Greek Civilization in terms of ethics.
They succeeded in it by being more ascetic than Roman pagan citizens.
For this mission to be successful, Jesus Christ first needed "Paulus," the most ascetic man in the era.
Today, are those leaders of groups fighting the American/European Civilization and Israelites more ascetic than Americans and Europeans as well as Israelites?

The message of 9/11 Terror seems to contain this issue: "Practice abstinence to be saved and to be safe."
But, the US economy depends on consumer power. Abstinence leads to decline in economy. Nonetheless, for the U.S. as a whole to secure complete security, it must probably practice abstinence.

Will Jesus Christ call another Saul in the 21st century?
If so, even Vatican will be altered.
Or will 1.57 billion Muslims in the world who look more abstinent than Christians become more democratic and equal than Americans or Europeans?
If so, no super-rich royal families in the Islamic world will survive.
The situation today is at such a historic depth as, if another Saul is called, I do not wonder (who might emerge from a most unlikely tribe).

A Hypothesis on the Birth of Jesus Christ
According to a recent astronomical study, a great eclipse of Jupiter by the new moon or the crescent occurred, in a manner that captured great attention of then astrologers, that is, on the horizon, on March 20 and April 17, 6 B.C.
(In 6 B.C., a Roman Governor in Syria is said to have held a census count.)
There is also a description that the parents of Child Jesus traveled due to a census count, and gave His birth in a not so cold environment.
Therefore, Jesus Christ might have been born in April 17, 6 B.C.

The Roman Emperor Octavius (Imperator Caesar Divi Filius Augustus) held a census count three times during his reign, which is believed to have been also carried out in Judea:
1) 28 B.C.
2) 8 A.D.
3) 14 A.D.
There is an interesting description in the Bible that the family of Child Jesus left for Egypt to avoid calamity King Herod had inflicted.
Even before Cleopatra committed a suicide in 30 B.C., there were many Israelites making business in Alexandria, the then capital of Egypt, along with Greeks. Also, King Herod must have his subjects stationed in Alexandria to watch moves of Cleopatra and Antonius. But, those Israelites must have returned home in 28 B.C. due to the census count conducted under the name of the Roman Emperor.
My assumption is that the future parents of Holy Mother returned from Alexandria to Judea in 28 B.C.; then Holy Mother was born in Jerusalem in a respectable family.
And, 22 years later, Jesus Christ was born; but the family left for Alexandria for the above described reason, following the old family tradition, as described in the Bible.
They might have returned to Jerusalem when Jesus Christ became 12 years old, two years prior to the next census. And, Child Jesus dropped by the Temple in Jerusalem as recorded in the Bible. Then, the family moved to Nazareth for a certain reason.
When the third census was held by Roman Emperor Octavius, Jesus Christ became 20 years old; He could travel to anywhere in order to avoid the census, this time alone.
In this way, we do not have much information about His family and Himself in those early days.

If Jesus Christ had not been engaged with that era, something very negative and decisive should have happened to Israelites and the Roman Empire, a cradle of the contemporary American/European Civilization. That is why He was born at the time when especially ethics were truly going to deteriorate even through acts of Roman Emperors.

Last Night in the News
Last night, a Japanese news program focused on Mr. Barack Obama.
A host of the program said that there were already some US movies featuring an African American US President. "As a movie is said to show a future course of the society, the U.S. may have an African American President some time soon."
The program showed a welcome Mr. Obama had received in Kenya and Chicago as well as pictures of his European American mother.
However, they seemed to be more anxious that the US Vice-President now visiting Japan might not be so nice to Japan, as the Japanese Prime Minister recently saw a movie, related to environment, involving Mr. Al Gore, and the Japanese Defense Minister had said something against the US War in Iraq.
One big issue, however, in the last-night news show in Japan is a Japanese whale hunting boat for scientific research under attacks by ships being operated by an international anti-whaling group and an environment protection group.
Members of the group threw flares into the Japanese whale hunting boat for scientific research in the Antarctic Ocean. And, though causal association is not clear, the Japanese ship was later damaged by mysterious fire.

We hope that a future US President will have a deep insight in environment, security, and the Japanese whaling culture.
I think Japanese news programs will welcome such a new US President unconditionally.
(For the Presidential-race racial issue, it reminded me of "Ebony And Ivory" by Paul McCartney with Stevie Wonder. A piano needs at least black keys and white keys, though they can be more colorful.

"The Price of Loyalty"
Mr. Paul O'Neill was in Japan when the 9/11 Terror occurred in the US East Coast in 2001. He watched the news program in the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. Then, from the US Air Force base at Yokota, then US Secretary of Treasure flew back to the U.S. on a military plane.
"The Price of Loyalty" by Ron Suskind is one of the very absorbing reports on the US politics and its characteristics.

I also watched the news on TV in the night of September 11, 2001.
First, on switching a channel, they said that there was a fire in Washington D.C., and I saw a somber concrete building in fire. "Is a fire rare in Washington D.C.?" Then a TV announcer said that there was another fire disaster, too, in New York. "Rare coincidence?" And then, they presented a World Trade Center tower belching out black smoke from the upper middle of its structure. "Attacks!"
It was around 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. here in Japan; though I was busy at the time and could not stop my work, I continued monitoring the TV screen which also presented the unforgiven collapse of the two towers.

The leaders of Al Qaeda did not reportedly expect collapse of the entire WTC towers. They only expected the collapse of the upper part of the building. Just two commercial jet planes cannot destroy the New York City or the US economy.
The large-scale attacks to the Pentagon and other core facilities of US Government in the capital, however, are an act of war, especially when combined together with the NY attacks.

Subsequently, if the U.S. had completely destroyed the terror group and arrested main culprits or enemies in Afghanistan, and deftly driven out leaders of a longstanding hostile country in the Middle East to eradicate a potential danger of another attack on the US homeland, things today might have been very different.
It seems that the true motivation and intention of the US President on his order to attack Iraq, whether consciously or not, has not been fully understood or revealed. His honest view and assessment on the terrorists in Afghanistan, whether consciously or not, have not been clearly understood by, or presented to, the world citizens, either.
And, whenever I hear the number of casualties in Afghanistan and Iraq, I have come to think that they are people, without doubt, living on September 11, 2001, just like me.

Hence, the Great Tsunami Disaster, in a magnitude observed once a century, hit the largest Islamic country Indonesia in late 2004, killing more than 150,000 people; and Pope John Paul II died in 2005.
The age seemed to be getting into the worldwide and historical stage, not only as an episode of the U.S. and its young history.

I do not know how I was tested on September 11, 2001.
But, you may see it, though I cannot present any absorbing report like "The Price of Loyalty."

It has passed several years since the New York Stock Exchange price index reached the 10,000 dollar level.
When it hit the level, then FRB Chairman under the Bill Clinton Administration reportedly thought that it should have been 7,000 dollars or so.
He checked the background with focus on increase in productivity.
It is apparent that since 1995, when Windows 95 was released with advanced Internet functions and Intel CPUs got into a continuous power-up trend, US citizens have been driven into multiplying their productivity in any activities where a PC and communications can prove their power to the full extent as convenient and effective business tools. These conditions have really allowed for launching new business and cultivating new market in the US society, leading to the boost of the NYSE index and an overwhelming sense of success among US citizens with money enough for equity investment.
I thought at that time, when Japan was said to have lost in the Japan-US Monetary War in 1990's, that the Dow Jones industrial avergae at that level was a kind of upper limits but it would stay there due to advanced financial technology of the US financial sector.
(NYSE index: 5,000 in November 1995; 8,000 in July 1997; and 10,000 in March 1999)
With that high level of stock prices, you can be given larger credit when borrowing money.
Even if the stock price level falls like in the case in September 2001, you do not necessarily have to return money immediately. There is a "time lag" in which you could purchase stocks at a lower price, which would collectively result in generating an upper momentum of the stock market again. After all, your financial credibility crisis could be avoided.
If this cycle is repeated, the NY SE index would keep, in average over time, that higher level above 10,000 dollars.
But, everything changes; the momentum of keeping the cycle might be weakened. Costly wars on terror might trigger it. Mexican workers who only send their earnings back home might have an influence on a general cash flow. New energy technology might change a view of the world economy.

When Jesus Christ sat between outraged people and a woman about to be executed, He was writing or drawing something on the ground.
(This is the only description on his writing or drawing in the Bible.)
Then, the outraged people admonished by Jesus Christ left the place one after another.
Was He, however, just drawing a circle on the ground?
I suppose He was writing names of women.
Outraged people, while being admonished by Him, reading the names of women written on the ground, clearly understood the meaning, since they were familiar names to them.
My assumption is that Jesus Christ first wrote the name "Cleopatra" every Israelite knew well, so as to hold the stage in the situation; it was two generations after her death in her war against the Roman Empire (just like today to WWII).

A Hypothesis on Birth of the Universe
A Hypothesis on Birth of the Universe
In the beginning, there was logic, owing to Omnipotence of God.
God let it establish itself.
Then, trials and testing began.
Firstly the concepts and logical operations of "True" and "False" were established. Then arithmetic logic was tried:
The concepts "0" and "1" were separated from each other as a mere trial on enabling "Existence," for God is Almighty. However, it failed in the following logic:
1 + 0 = 0
1 + 1 = 0
Next, another logic:
1 + 0 = 1
1 + 1 = 1
It is still insufficient, and finally:
1 + 0 = 1
1 + 1 = "2" with "2" suddenly emerging and claiming its Authenticity.
At this stage, one type of energies generated at the lowest level of the Heaven or Nothingness has survived in itself and began to sustain itself by relying on the logic.
It succeeded, changing its form to time and space, while all the other types of energies that could not develop into time and space failed and returned back to the lowest level of the Heaven or Nothingness.
The material universe got its foundation. Then it exploded like the so-called Big Ban, which is actually deployment of the energy in forms of time and space composing a kind of a "Table Cloth."
And, 13.7 billion years later, mankind has rediscovered the logic.
Hence, I am confirming it now.

However, it is a mystery that psychology of mankind still tries to admit the failed types of the arithmetic logic:
1 + 0 = 0
1 + 1 = 0
1 + 1 = 1
"You and I together is Nothing, or You or I alone only."
But, of course, the extension of "1 + 1 = 3, 4, 5, etc." with unauthorized margins might be easy to interpret.
As for the operation "+," it symbolizes the living God.

Music scales use only part of a set of infinite number of frequencies of sound.
Can we find any other, more comfortable, different absolute scale systems by using a computer?
Is beauty of sound related to glory of birth of the universe in any way?

"Hotel Rwanda"
"Hotel Rwanda"
"Hotel Rwanda" was released in Japan last year. It was a big hit, though not so much commercialized.
In the summer last year, one corner of a DVD rental shop in Tokyo where scores of "Hotel Rwanda" DVDs had been placed became empty. A young clerk of the shop was watching the corner with deep emotion.
He is the one who made the most efforts to have the movie released in Japan.
In September 2000, he was a student living in Kyoto with love of movies and music. He wanted to travel overseas in his last summer vacation in the university. Out of nowhere, he conceived a country called Rwanda. He wanted to take pictures of children in Rwanda and visited a memorial hall for victims of the well-known tragedy. He purchased tickets to Rwanda at a somehow perplexed tourist agency, but nobody including his bandmates wanted to accompany him "to Rwanda."
It was his first overseas trip. He stopped by at Holland where he was intimidated by some Europeans on a street. Hence, he became extremely cautious and stayed in a hotel all day during his stay in Holland. Then he flew to Nairobi bearing the lesson on a foreign street in mind.
On a Nairobi's street, while he was surrounded by street children, somebody suddenly shouted at him, "Takahashi! Takahashi!" He cautiously thought that Nairobi people should think that all the Japanese had the surname Takahashi. But, he found later on TV in a hotel that Ms. Naoko Takahashi won the Gold Medal in the Summer Olympic Games.
Then he in high spirits got to Uganda and checked in a cheap hotel, proudly talking to a clerk of the hotel on his smart and economical travel. But, the clerk asked him how much he had paid for air tickets from Japan.
He moved on and met a good natured Congolese. When they departed at the border to Rwanda, he could not help but offer a good wish to the good natured Congolese, for Congo was then at a civil war.
His long journey to Rwanda was truly rewarded when he was enjoying a bus tour in the civil-war torn country, as many children on a field waved back to him with a big welcome smile. Then the Japanese student happened to stay in a very deluxe hotel by chance, a little far from Kampala, since the bus stopped by accident in front of the hotel. In a hotel even a Japanese youth thought to be very gorgeous, he wondered in the midnight silence what country he was actually in.
After coming back to Japan, he made the most efforts to have the movie "Hotel Rwanda" released in Japan through organizing a promotion group.
But, why was he doing a part-time job in a DVD rental shop (except for air conditioning and young nice female colleagues)? It is because he quit a film distribution company that had employed him while he had been personally making great efforts for promoting "Hotel Rwanda." And, he later failed to pass employment examinations of various newspaper companies. He quit the part-time job and got burnt out, though his love for movies and music, in addition to his humble fame as the promoter, seems to be supporting him.

A notable politician in Japan, who was the representative of the largest opposition party when the 2005 9/11 general election was held in Japan, also saw the movie. He counted "Hotel Rwanda" as the best one among eight movies, which he had seen in 2006, including the one related to the "Iwojima" battle.
The influence of the movie might appear some day in the Japanese political community and media, promoting humanity and making people more compassionate.
Then, such a young man as the humble but great promoter of "Hotel Rwanda" might be paid off in a more practical sense.

All I can say is that atrocities in Africa are more sinful than in any other continents: God must be angry.

The Prophecies
The Prophecies
According to the famous prophecies (of St. Malachy) and some interpretations, "Petrus Romanus" is the last Pope. However, it is extremely difficult to imagine the holy person and his situation. Anyway, St. Peter is the first follower of Jesus Christ. He only may be able to put an end to missions of his successors.
"De labore solis" for Ioannes Paulus II is very reasonable:
The Pope was like the sun for laborers in Poland under political, economic, and military influences of the USSR. In addition, the national flag of Poland is very akin to Japan's Sun Flag, in terms of colors, red and white. He is also the first Pope who visited Japan.
"Gloria olivae" for Benedictus XVI is very difficult to interpret due to his holy mission ongoing. (But, it should be noted that generally speaking Muslims have a skin color of olive. In terms of politics, natural resources, and religions, the focus on Islam has never been so intensified as nowadays. In his reign in Vatican, Islam might occupy a glorious position in the world and the human history, despite wars and other tragedies now plaguing them.)

If democracy and globalization are authorized by Jesus Christ, His churches might adopt them in a drastic manner.

Samurai Mission to Pope in 1615

In Tokyo Prefecture with 12 million population, registered foreigners are only 370,000. (They mostly live in concentrated places of the metropolitan area.)
Naive comparison of Tokyo with New York is not productive as well as that between a single-race nation, Japan, and a multiethnic nation, the U.S.
In addition, the situation is now changing. The US population reached 300 million plus 20 million Mexicans inside the border.
Accordingly, "Clash of Civilizations" by Samuel P. Huntington was translated into Japanese and reasonably sold.
Meanwhile Japanese companies invested total 1.1 billion dollars into Mexico in 2005 to boost their economic ties. Even the Japanese version of NAFTA was concluded between the two countries.
Though it is said that the poor accounts for 80% of the population of Mexico, the last year's Presidential election was remarkably fairly conducted, according to a Japanese businessman there. (The advertisement industry in Mexico seems to be one of focal points to be improved. Now, you know where to invest.)
I really want to say, "May God bless Mexico!"

In 1615, a Japanese envoy to the Vatican led by the samurai Tsunenaga Hasekura was granted an audience to Pope Paulus V in Rome.
(A Japanese samurai is not only a warrior, but also a bureaucrat, a financial manager, and sometimes a scholar, different from traditions of separation of swords and the pen in China and Korea.)
Though Hasekura was not sent off by a Shogun, he represented one strong samurai clan who wanted to strengthen its power base, against the Shogun's clan, with a support of the then superpower Spain, a Catholic empire.
Hasekura on board a Spanish ship crossed the Pacific Ocean and landed on Acapulco of Mexico, then a colony of Spain. He got to the other side of the land and went on to Europe across the Atlantic with help from Spain. Finally, his greeting behavior to Pope Paulus V was highly praised; and the envoy suffered no humiliation, though some members got determined not to go back home but stay and live in Spain.
Soon after Hasekura's coming back to Japan, the Shogun closed the country, severely banning the religion Christianity and the diplomatic relation with Spain while sacrificing the hegemony over the East Pacific which consequentially fell into the hand of the West until 1858 when a Japan-US treaty was signed resulting in opening the country again.
Nonetheless, a fact has remained that a Japanese samurai envoy arrived at Rome and officially met Pope Paulus V before the Mayflower left Southampton for America in 1620.
(According to Malachy's prophecies, Pope Paulus V should be concerned with Gens Perversa or the "wicked race." People suspected that Pope Paulus V might be wicked. But, it is apparent that the "wicked race" means Japanese in light of the above episode; actually Catholicism had been banned in Japan for 250 years under the Tokugawa samurai regime.
Now, we have only one or two Popes left, according to the prophecies: Gloria Olivae and Petrus Romanus.
But mankind must survive and progress with Jesus Christ.
[And, Paulus V was actually nice to Japan; you should not harm his dignity.])

Alexander the Great & Diogenes
When Alexander the Great (Aleksandros III Megas) came to Corinth, about 300 year before the birth of Jesus Christ, on his massive military campaign to the east, namely to Persia and as far as the Indus, he heard a rumor about Diogenes and visited him.
Diogenes once walked with a lamp in the daylight. People laughed at him, asking what he was looking for. Diogenes answered that he was looking for a human being. They all realized that they were all disqualified as a human being.
When Alexander the Great visited Diogenes, the philosopher was resting, lying on the ground.
Though Diogenes did not stand up to greet the King of Macedonia, the King asked him what he wanted from the King. Diogenes said to Alexander the Great to let the sunshine fall on him as the King stood between the Sun and Diogenes.
Alexander the Great praised Diogenes, saying that he wished to be another Diogenes though he was actually content with being "Alexander the Great."

As you know, the last fruit of a tree that had grown from a seed the King sowed was Cleopatra who is said to have been extremely smart to be loved by Caesar and Antonio.
However, if Alexander the Great had had also become another Diogenes and Cleopatra had had become the Queen of Rome, the fate of ancient Israelites might have been very different.

Does the U.S have a Diogenes, though it seems to have many admirers of Cleopatra and Alexander the Great?
I am an admirer of Diogenes because he pursued truth, he experienced a "state of a slave," he lived a life of the homeless, and he became an excellent educator respected by Alexander the Great, the most respected by Cleopatra.
What's more, unless the King of Macedonia himself went out to pay a courtesy visit to Diogenes, the King, still young, should have failed in his war against mighty and experienced Persia.

Though Diogenes did not stand up to greet the King of Macedonia, the King asked him what he wanted from the King. Diogenes said to Alexander the Great to let the sunshine fall on him as the King stood between the Sun and Diogenes.
Alexander the Great praised Diogenes, saying that he wished to be another Diogenes though he was actually content with being "Alexander the Great."

As you know, the last fruit of a tree that had grown from a seed the King sowed was Cleopatra who is said to have been extremely smart to be loved by Caesar and Antonio.
However, if Alexander the Great had had also become another Diogenes and Cleopatra had had become the Queen of Rome, the fate of ancient Israelites might have been very different.

I am an admirer of Diogenes because he pursued truth, he experienced a "state of a slave," he lived a life of the homeless, and he became an excellent educator respected by Alexander the Great, the most respected by Cleopatra.
What's more, unless the King of Macedonia himself went out to pay a courtesy visit to Diogenes, the King, still young, should have failed in his war against mighty and experienced Persia.

Why did the God choose Abram? For an unknown holy reason?
To find the answer we have to study Sumerians.

As you know, Sumerians were the first tribe that established the first human urban civilization, the Mesopotamian Civilization, building for example the city Ur 6000 years ago, though there had been a preceding agricultural tribe already in the delta of the Tigris and the Euphrates who however made no war against new comers.
From Ur, Abram departed once for all to the west following the order of God 5000 years ago, namely, in 3000 B.C. to become Abraham (which symbolizes an important thing).
(Moving around the regions might have been just an ordinary custom of ancient nomads; there might have been nothing holy as scholars have emphasized. Everything might have happened by chance, as everybody's birth and death as well as admission to Heaven or the hell...But I prefer assurance or holy assurance.)

Mesopotamia is the ultimate home province of Israelites (accordingly, isn't it holy?).
Though the different race Akkadians later came to Mesopotamia and shared the Civilization with Sumerians who had earlier come from the north and settled there, I believe Abraham belonged to Sumerians partly due to the location, the southern city Ur, which he left just relying on his God.
(This is why even today people living in Southern Iraq [Iraq may be named after another city called Urq] observe a different kind of Islam and rather communicate better with Iranians.)
The language Sumerians used is a kind of mystery; however, it has been proved to be different from a Semitic language Akkadians used, though both the races got mingled and shared their languages to some extent.
When Abraham left Ur, he seems to have used no longer the original Sumerian language. His descendants completely lost whatever Sumerian traits that had been preserved in Ur to become Semito-Hamitic like contemporary pious Arabs.
The genealogy that can be traced back to the first civilized race Sumerians seems to be more authentic than the one that can be traced only to the second civilized race Akkadians. I believe that Israelites are more glorious than today's scholars (and themselves) believe them to be.

Test in Space or Racecourse
Mr. Rodger Donaldson is the director of "Thirteen Days."
His new movie, though originally released in the U.S. in 2005, "World's Fastest Indian" is now put on the screen in Japan.
The situation is set in New Zealand and the U.S. in 1960's. The hero is Burt Munro, an elderly and poor New Zealander, who traveled to the U.S. on a cargo vessel to make a world record of 306Km/h in a certain class of races in the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, riding on his 1920's Indian Scout motorbike.
While it is expected that more and more baby-boom generation in Japan are going to retire in coming years, the movie based on a real story that Burt Munro made the world record at his 60's seems timely.
The movie was produced without U.S. funds. But Japanese funds contributed to its production, making its completion possible.
In the universe and on the ground, you can be tested regardless of your age, at the risk of your life or even routinely as prominent TV personalities; but you may win once for all so that you will laugh heartily like Burt the Fastest.
Yet, you need faith (even if you have already made a world record of a certain kind which is widely well known).

Mr. Takashi Hirose, a prominent author in Japan, published a book titled "Sekai Sekiyu Senso (World Oil Wars)" in 2002.
He pointed out that oil incurs wars and wars incur arms business. In this context, he especially mentioned Mr. Adnan Khashoggi.

As another episode contained in the book written by the said notable Japanese author who studied political and financial scandals in the U.S. and Europe, Mr. Harry Belafonte, who last year made a controversial speech at Duke University, had once purchased a whole condominium building in New York to live in one apartment because an owner of the building had refused to rent it to him.
Also, as Mr. Harry Belafonte made a controversial speech on Mr. Colin Powel and Ms. Condoleezza Rice, he was, so to speak, summoned into that famous "Larry King Live," according to the book.

My concern is however also on such issues as Mitochondrial Eve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitochondrial_Eve) who lived almost 200,000 years ago in Africa and became one of common mothers of all the contemporary humans including Africans and Japanese.
And, 98% of human genes are the same as those found in a chimpanzee.
Even a round worm called Caenorhabditis has 18,000 genes, while a human being has 34,000 genes in a genome, the difference in which is astonishingly small when considering that the worm has only 969 cells in its whole body but a human being has more than 60 trillion cells to be controlled.
(For God to terminate evolution of mankind would be as easy as His doing so to a worm, if we, as a young species, continue to neglect His will.)
