Prelude to Final 2000 Years of Mankind

It is a national holiday today in Japan, though I am busy working.

Yesterday, I read some on the global food crisis, Latin America drug wars, and the era preceding the holy emergence of Jesus Christ in Palestine...


SECTION I: KING HEROD

It is interesting that in the year Maxwell died Einstein was born (namely in 1879) just like in the year Marx died Keynes was born (namely in 1883).

(Indeed, in four years around 1881, the world was going to reach its summit in history in terms of knowledge and intellect.)

Accordingly we may assume that when King Herod died in the year 4 BCE in Jericho after a long illness, Jesus Christ might have been born in 4 B.C. +/- 2 years.

Yet it might be apocalyptic that his tomb was discovered in May 2007:

Herodium was not only the tomb, but the headquarters for the ruler of Palestine subject to the Roman Empire when Jesus Christ was born and lived.

Jesus Christ and His disciples must have surely gotten a glimpse of this great fortress town Herodium while they were marching into Jerusalem.

Yet, the 2000 year-long period of history must come further closer to the end with this symbolic discovery.

SECTION II: From Alexander the Great to Jesus Christ

The father of King Herod (74 BC - 4 BC) became a friend of one of the last princes of Hasmonean Kingdom of Israel (140 BC –37 BC).

The father of King Herod and his friend prince tried fervently to receive a favor from Roman General Pompeius (106 BC-48 BC) who eventually defeated another prince of the Hasmonean who tied up with Persians.

As time went by, the power shifted to the hand of the father of King Herod from his friend nominal prince, as Pompeius invaded the Temple of Jerusalem and did not authorize restoration of Hasmonean Kingdom.

But, as Caesar (100 BC - 44 BC) defeated Pompeius in a civil war, the father of King Herod with his son tried fervently to receive a favor from Caesar.

Yet, as Caesar was assassinated in a kind of civil war, the father of King Herod with his son ran to, and tried fervently to receive a favor from, one of betrayers of Caesar who got in charge of governing Palestine.

However, as the father of King Herod collected too much tax from Israelites to satisfy the Roman Governor, the betrayer of Caesar, he was killed by angry Israelites.

Soon, Antonius (83 BC – 30 BC) rose and defeated those betrayers of Caesar; King Herod ran to, and tried fervently to receive a favor from Antonius and Cleopatra (69 BC – 30 BC).

Then, as Antonius and Cleopatra were defeated by Octavianus (63 BC – AD 14) in a full-scale civil war, King Herod tried fervently to receive a favor from Octavianus, since the mother of Octavianus was a niece of Caesar.

Accordingly, King Herod could preserve his position as the ruler of Israelites, living in Herodium until the emergence of Jesus Christ.

Hasmonean Kingdom of Israel was established through war against, and eventual compromise with, a kingdom based on Syria one of generals of Alexander the Great had founded.

When Cleopatra, a descendant of one of generals of Alexander the Great, faded away from history, the last remnant of the shadow of Alexander the Great also faded out from Palestine.

Now, everybody stands before the gate to the last 2000 years of history, waiting for the holy intervention from the God, since it was too much the sub-era of King Herod.


(If King Herod had died in 1996, he should have been born in 1926 or so. Accordingly, Cleopatra should have died in 1970 or so. And Octavianus should have been still alive as Roman Emperor Augustus.

Indeed, it was just a matter of yesterday or is still of today beyond the 2000-year span...)

In America today, up to 85% of corn crop is genetically engineered; up to 91 percent of soybeans are, too.

In Mexico the worst economic crisis since WWII has forced many poor women to be engaged in drug-related crimes while suffering sometimes fatal violence from male criminals.

Indeed, advanced chemicals developed and produced as a fruit of these 2000 years history cannot be much trusted, though many people are actually working in the industrial sector all over Japan.

Anyway, I hope that you are not infected by the swine flu which looks like a product of some strange genes.

THE BOTTOM LINE OF HISTORY


Confucius said that some people deplorably boast what they have created while they have no knowledge; but he, Confucius, is the one who listens more and selects only valuable matter to write it down, since it is the way for knowledge.

According to the teaching of Jesus Christ, a man with holy knowledge does neither make money nor make war.


SECTION I: JUDAISTS IN THESE 2000 YEARS

Looking at the list of Nobel Prize winners till 2005 since 1901, we can find
- 48 Judaists among total 182 winners in Nobel Prize in Medicine;
- 44 Judaists among total 178 winners in Nobel Prize for Physics; and
- 26 Judaists among total 147 winners in Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

It is as if 33% of mankind were Judaists, though in fact they account for only 0.2%.

Yet, it is after Isaac Newton (1643 - 1727) that Judaist scientists started to prevail, while Newton set the foundation for modern mechanics and engineering.

For example, Leopold Kronecker (1823 - 1891) is one of early examples since he was a German Judaist mathematician.

What's more, Michael Faraday (1791 - 1867) and James Clerk Maxwell (1831 - 1879) were not Judaists while their work set the basement for modern electronics.

But, indeed, Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955) was Judaist, since he critically changed a view on the material universes of mankind.

(It is interesting that in the year Maxwell died Einstein was born just like in the year Marx died Keynes was born.)

However, Judaists were eager to introduce the writings of the Greek and Arabian scientists into Europe in the Middle Ages.

English Jew is said to have written in Latin, in 1190, a work on mathematics under the title "Mathematica Rudimenta Quædam."

In summary, Judaists have been making full efforts in these 2000 years to reach the highest in the academic sphere, resulting in the most revolutionary work of Einstein and Godel in the 20th century.

It is as if they had finally crossed the finish line before WWII in this context under the gaze of the God.



SECTION II: CHRISTIANS IN THESE 2000 YEARS

A lot of matter has changed in these 2000 years.

Yet, as the emergence of Jesus Christ is the starting point of this time period, it is reasonable to check how Christians' view on war has changed so as to see how the teaching of Jesus Christ is now prevailing.

The Christian view of war has changed throughout the history of the faith.

The early church (the first 300 years) was strongly pacifist. Origen said that Christians "do not go forth as soldiers". Tertullian wrote "only without the sword can the Christian wage war: for the Lord has abolished the sword." Clement of Alexandria wrote "...he who holds the sword must cast it away and that if one of the faithful becomes a soldier he must be rejected by the Church, for he has scorned God."

This changed rapidly in the time of Constantine - the Council of Arles in 314 said that to forbid "the state the right to go to war was to condemn it to extinction", and shortly after that Christian philosophers began to formulate the doctrine of the Just War.

For many centuries Christians believed that it was right and proper to use violence (and thus war) to spread the faith and deal with its opponents. They did not regard violence as an inherently bad thing: whether it was bad or not depended on what it was being used for.

This thinking is covered under holy wars - the main examples of which, for Christians, are the Crusades.

From Constantine onwards Christian writers and preachers have used warlike and soldierly metaphors in their writing about the faith.

The idea that violence is not inherently bad can also be seen in some versions of the Just War doctrine - violence (war) can be a vital tool in restoring justice and peace.

Accordingly, Christians invented a rifle, a cannon, a handgun, a machine gun, an iron warship, an airplane, a missile, etc., all first used in Europe or North America.

In summary, Christians look like having made full efforts in these 2000 years, especially after the time of Constantine, to reach the highest in the sphere of war and violence rather than of science, resulting in the most revolutionary invention and application of the atomic or nuclear bomb and other powerful or sophisticated weapons in the 20th century and beyond.

It is as if they were yet to finally cross the finish line after WWII in this context under the gaze of the God.

Leopold Kronecker is said to have said, "God made the integers; all else is the work of man."

Albert Einstein wrote: "I, at any rate, am convinced that God does not throw dice."

At the most fundamental level, the nature is only expressed with integers; the energy levels within an atom is not linear but discrete. The core of an atom consists of only a few or several elementary entities called quark which belongs to the space of integers mathematically.

But, is the God of Kronecker and Einstein the same God of war-loving Christians?

Anyway as symbolized by the War on Terror in 2001 and the Wall Street Shock in 2008, war and money of America might be the American Testament of the 21st Century.


(As Jesus Christ did not teach any advanced science, what Kronecker and Einstein said might be very correct, but I suppose as "0" and the infinite are two primary concepts of numbers it is not so sinful to argue real numbers as well as imaginary numbers, since the God allowed mankind to invent a dice...)

POOR MEN AND WOMEN EVERYWHERE


Last night, the History Channel presented the underground fortification built and operated by the Imperial Army and Navy of Japan in the Okinawa Island during WWII.

The cable TV channel also showed a huge natural cave where some hundred or more civilians died as they had been taught by the authority that they would have been killed by American soldiers if they had left the deep cave.

I have never seen before the room where Imperial Navy Commander of Okinawa Admiral Ota committed suicide, at the last stage of the great battles on Okinawa, some 100 feet below the ground.

It is marvellous that American staff of the History Channel presented those precious sites without losing respect to the Okinawa people and the Imperial soldiers.


SECTION I: TWO ASYMMETRY ACCIDENTS FOR TWO HEROINES

Recently two mysterious fire accidents happened, each in South Korea and Japan, highly drawing public attentions in Japan.

One in Pusan killed several Japanese men in their 30's who visited this second largest city of South Korea for sightseeing and shooting at a small range in a building on a congested commercial area.

Another in Hamamatsu City, one of industrial zones of Japan with Yamaha and Suzuki, killed four or so Japanese men enjoying games in a mah-jongg parlor, though it is suspected to be arson.

These two fire accidents are however not somebody else's tragedies for two prominent female politicians in Japan, respectively.

The victims of the first accident are residents in the district for Ms. Eriko Fukuda, a Lower House member of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan.

The second accident was in the district for Mrs. Satsuki Katayama, an ex-Lower House member of the opposition Liberal Democratic Party.

As these two female politicians are the ones who have been the most focused on by the media among female politicians in Japan, these two fire accidents are somehow symbolic.

It is so since Ms. Eriko Fukuda, a now rising star with help from the controversial DPJ boss Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, was just a year ago a helpless young victim of hepatitis caused by error or omission by the Government.

It is also so since Mrs. Satsuki Katayam, an ex-elite bureaucrat of the Finance Ministry, was just a year ago facing an intra-party conflict between the pro-reform camp led by Former Prime Minister Mr. Junichiro Koizumi and the anti-reform camp led by then Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso within the LDP.

The 2009-30-8 election resulted in DPJ Ms. Fukuda's winning and LDP Mrs. Katayama's loss, though in different districts.

You might simply conclude that shooting practices are more dangerous than mah-jongg games.

However, the two political heroines in Japan might be thinking different, since they each have the big backing, DPJ Party Secretary General Mr. Ichiro Ozawa and LDP Ex-P.M. Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, respectively.

SECTION II: JESUS CHRIST AND MONEY

Let's check respectfully how the "money" is used in the Gospels of the King James Version:

To our surprise, the money economy prevailed in Palestine 2000 years ago, though it might be reasonable as an unignorable part of the Roman Empire.

It is also a surprise that Jesus Christ used the terms "gained" and "usury" in his probables.

However, it is just for returning the original principal and accumulated profits to the Lord. Even money is not for a man but for the Lord when it is handled.

Jesus Christ indeed did not say, "Money does not make you happy," since it does materially. Yet, it is the very happiness realized by money that is an enemy for the Kingdom of God. Hence, only the Lord can be the master of money. Money cannot contaminate the Lord.

Anyway, it is why the Gospels are always up to date; the world of the Gospels belongs to the same Age of ours: the Age under the power of money.

Confucious said that it is not difficult for a rich man not to act haughtily before a poor man; but it is not easy for a poor man not to envy a rich man.

According to the teaching of Jesus Christ, whatever makes a poor man envy itself is sinful.

Big money is sinful; higher status is sinful; and commercially attractive personality and outlook are sinful. Even a worldly higher level of knowledge and wisdom is sinful.

Indeed, you have to be like a little child to be admitted to the Kingdom of God.

GENERATION AFTER GENERATION; THEORY AFTER THEORY


Some students and professors in the world exhaustively studying Japan might wonder nowadays what has happened with that famous Former Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Junichiro Koizumi.

Mr. Koizumi stepped down voluntarily from the premiership in 2006 after the overwhelming victory in the 2005-9-11 general election and retired from the parliament on the 2009-8-30 snap election passing his seat in the National Diet virtually to his son Mr. Shinjiro Koizumi.

SECTION I: From 1 Dimension to 2 Dimensions

Pi, or the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter has a two-dimensional (2D) meaning.

It must be more related to the domain of 2D area than length in the 1D domain.



"Pi" is the ratio of the area of a circle to that of a square that has a side equal to the radius of the circle; This is a full 2D teaching.

But, in school, they usually teach that Pi is a ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter; This is an extended-1D or quasi-2D teaching.

The difference is important, since the energy flow can be measured as an amount of energy that passes through a certain area per second or so.

Another implication is that as our universe is expanding second by second actually, it must be doing so by creating another circle instead of another square when projected to the 2D sphere, since it is more efficient as long as rotation with the radius "R" is completed in the same time period needed for translation with the side "R".

Hence, "Pi" (= 3.14159...) is a universal factor in this material world as well as in mathematics.


SECTION II: CRACKPOT ECONOMICS?

It is very interesting that while Japan was still under the rule of the feudal samurai government, Karl Marx published the declaration of communism.

It is also interesting that soon after the death of Karl Marx in London in March 1883, John Maynard Keynes was born at Cambridge in June 1883, though it was when Japan was yet to have a modern Cabinet system after having founded the Bank of Japan in 1882:

11 April 1946: Over lunch at the Bank of England, Keynes tells Henry Clay of his hopes that Adams Smith's 'invisible hand' can help Britain out of the economic hole it is in:

The ideal Keynes was advancing for might be however very different from that for Marx.

Keynes had no intention to leave Christianity; yet Marx must have seen an enemy in Christianity.

I suppose that economics must be part of Christianity, so that nobody calls it crackpot study.

In other word, economics must not be one-dimensional but more than two-dimensional.

A veteran Japanese engineer was kidnapped in Yemen recently, and is yet to be freed.

They say presence of AlQaeda has been increasing in the country, though pictures of the bin Ladens' home place in Yemen presented by The New York Times show a just religious town in the Arab world.

One Japanese young, civilian tourist was killed by AlQaeda in Iraq several years ago; another Japanese young, civilian volunteer was killed by the Taliban in Afghanistan a few years ago.

The Son of Man is a title that anyone can claim to have as it means a member of mankind.

Accordingly any poor man can claim that he has one title, at least, the Son of Man.

If the best and supreme person, Jesus of Nazareth, should call himself using this least but universal title for a human being, how could you call yourself?

If the King of Kings, Jesus of Nazareth, should call himself using this least but universal title for a human being, how could you call yourself before Him?

Without inviting wrath of God, you might say, "I am zero before the infinite that is you, sir, Christ, the Son of God."


SECTION I: "0" Having Universal Freedom

President Mr. Barack Obama alluded to value of universal freedom in a Q&A session with young people in Shanghai, China, while some Chinese youths wanted to know what education would make and build a man like Mr. Obama who could win the Nobel Peace Prize (Oh My God!).

Yet, the universal freedom and liberty are linked with existence of "0" and the infinite.

Nonetheless, it is neither ancient Mesopotamians, Egyptians, Hebrews, Greeks, Romans or early Christians, nor Middle Ages' Europeans or early Muslims that could define "0" and its arithmetic operational rules.

It is the 9th century Indians:

However, those Indians defined "0" divided by "0" as "0."
0/0 = 0

As division means obtaining a ratio of two numbers or quantities, it cannot be "0" in the above case, since "0" is equal to "0."

The ratio of the two identical entities is "1."

Accordingly, sound mathematics should admit that 0/0 = 1.

So, conceptually, as the two Infinities are identical, their ratio must be one.
1= Infinity/Infinity

Finally, 0/0 = Infinity/Infinity = 1/1 = 2/2 = 3/3 =...

It is so, since the God is one and all.



SECTION II: CHRISTIANITY AND MONEY

It is said that Michael Ende (1929-1995), a German writer of fantasy and children's literature including The Neverending Story, once wrote that he had written and sent letters to ten economists asking what money was.

I told her some complaints about a management policy of the company, since they are now forsaking analog-channel viewers.

Last night I was praising the God by thinking about how "1" was created.

Then I found that "1" was created from "0."

It is so, since "0/0" or zero divided by zero can be defined as "1" only for this purpose:

Two thousand years ago, Judaists lost their nation and the capital Jerusalem through a series of wars with the Roman Empire.

(One example is the father of JFK, the Ambassador to the U.K. at the time, who trusted Hitler and Nazis so much in contrast to Churchill's doubt on them before the eruption of WWII on the European stage.)

4. In the summer of 1941 or so, the U.S. Government stopped supplying crude oil and iron for the Empire of Japan, forcing the Imperial Navy of Japan to face a danger of depleting its fuel reserves in months.

5. Though the Empire of Japan had been negotiating with the U.S. Government for months prior to December 1941, the Roosevelt Administration did not soften its position, threatening and declaring that without all-out withdrawal of the Imperial troops from the Mainland China no oil and iron would be supplied for the Empire of Japan.

6. Accordingly the Imperial Government took it as the ultimatum from the U.S. The Imperial Government clearly saw determination of Roosevelt for going to war against the Empire of Japan.

7. Though the Empire of Japan could sustain its war in China without importing oil and iron from the U.S., its Navy would be surely immobilized in months. Therefore time was running out for the Empire. If the U.S. had declared war against Japan several months later, which the Empire was very much convinced of, the Imperial Navy warships should have just anchored in their mother ports, watching U.S. fleets freely sailing over the Pacific Ocean full of territorial islands of the Empire.

8. Eventually, without any strategical connection with situations in wars and battles in the Chinese Continent and the European Continent, the Empire of Japan decided to make war on the U.S., though the Empire had thought the long diplomatic negotiations with the Roosevelt Administration would finally result in peace, since it was a reasonable conclusion.

9. Yet, for some unknown reasons for the Empire, the U.S. Government was determined to launch war between the Empire and the U.S. Eventually the long negotiations on the nature of the Japan-China War, Japanese assets in America having been confiscated by the U.S. Government, and the ending of the embargo on export of oil and iron to the Empire finally led the Empire to a dangerous stalemate.

10. Lest the U.S. should have declared war when the Imperial Navy completely lost oil fuels for the world No.2 mighty fleets, the Imperial Government had to launch war effectively at the most threatening bases in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in December 1941, so as to teach Americans costs of war with Japan, since it was apparent that the Roosevelt Administration was determined to open war with the Empire at any time in coming months.

(It is also interesting that General MacArthur was not informed of the imminent outbreak of war, while Washington expected the Imperial Navy would surely attack U.S. bases in the Philippians where General MacArthur was stationed, just like it did not either inform American citizens and voters...)

In this way, one of the most drastic decisions on war or peace in these 2000 years was made by the Imperial Government of Japan in December 1941, allowing the U.S. to make war against Nazi Germany, an ally of the Empire of Japan, very unfortunately or too innocently, while the Empire of Japan saved tens of thousands of Judaists in 1930's and 1940's in Northern Europe and Manchuria or Shanghai through diplomatic and military channels, including General Tojo's authorization.

Yet, it is still unknown why the Roosevelt Administration had to take so much time before sending its troops to the European Continent to save Judaist Europeans, since six million of them lost their lives by the end of WWII on the European stage.

Indeed, there is no International Military Tribunal for war-crimes of a victor country.


(American elementary schools, high schools, colleges, universities, and graduate colleges must teach this fact and truth to their students.

Since most of professors of the Harvard University cannot explain why President Roosevelt could not prevent the Pearl Harbor Attack through then-ongoing months-long negotiations with the Empire of Japan, just like they cannot explain why the JFK was assassinated, the 9/11 Terror was set off, and the Lehman Shock occurred.

To tell the truth, there is only one relationship between war and religion:
As there was a war, of whatever scale and sort, a religion, of whatever scale and sort, was needed for mankind.

If those being engaged in a war talk about any religion, you might laugh if you truly understand this relationship between war and religion, though you had better not, of course nowadays.

I do not know how John Maynard Keynes positioned war and religion in his economics theory; but there have been no major nations in the world free from war and religion while all of them are thriving materially in this beginning of the 21st century.

In my theory, you cannot be a genius in economics unless you can be an expert in war and religion.

It is so, since war and religion can completely change or do away with a value system so prevailing before.

If you ever think that economics cannot be easy, you are intellectually sound; you will not launch any personal war with some handguns or any laughable religion with nonsense books in hand.

OKINAWA BASES RATHER THAN BERLIN WALL


Everybody lives long and very long in Okinawa.

It is so, since it is the only major sub-tropical island of Japan.


SECTION I: JAPAN-US SECURITY TREATY

The area used or occupied by the U.S. military on the Okinawa Island is colored blue in the following map. As the lateral width of the island is 10 miles or so, it is too much for Okinawa people to bear with.

First of all, since 1953 when a truce for the Korean War was arranged by the U.S., South Korea, and U.N. Security Forces with North Korea or since 1973 when U.S. troops left Vietnam putting an end to its Vietnam War, peace in East Asia has been mostly maintained by Japan's adherence to its peace constitution.

However, subject to the US-Japan security treaty, American troops are allowed to have bases in Japan.

Yet, as their bases in Okinawa are today threatening life and assets of Okinawa people, the treaty will have to undergo review.




SECTION II: JESUS CHRIST AND WARS

Jesus Christ's teaching is, of course, intended to eradicate war from the world.

Tonight, NHK TV Station in Tokyo broadcast an interview held in the White House with President Mr. Barack Obama.

NHK boasted that it is the first interview with the president having been done by the Japanese media.

INEVITABLE WAR, IMPOSSIBLE WAR, & HOLY WAR


Now a Q&A session between ministers of the Hatoyama Cabinet and Upper House members of the Japanese National Diet is going on as televised nationwide from Tokyo.

A lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Japan (a ruling party) asked Foreign Minister Mr. Katsuya Okada what the minister thinks about the fact that the average life expectancy in Afghanistan is just 44 years.

Indeed, though Japan has already contributed two billion dollars and more to promotion of peace and welfare in Afghanistan, more efforts seem to be needed since only one of every four Afghans can read and write.


SECTION I: COSTS OF U.S. MARINES IN OKINAWA

There are many U.S. military bases on the Okinawa Island of Japan.

The mainland Okinawa has a size (about 1200 square kilometers) almost equal to that of all Los Angeles City or all New York City including its huge harbor, while total U.S. military bases account for more than 20% of the gross area of Okinawa Prefecture.

1. Realignment on Okinawa
(a) Futenma Replacement Facility (FRF)• The United States and Japan will locate the FRF in a configuration that combines the Henoko-saki and adjacent water areas of Oura and Henoko Bays, including two runways aligned in a "V"-shape, each runway having a length of 1,600 meters plus two 100-meter overruns. The length of each runway portion of the facility is 1,800 meters, exclusive of seawalls (see attached concept plan dated April 28, 2006). This facility ensures agreed operational capabilities while addressing issues of safety, noise, and environmental impacts.

• In order to locate the FRF, inclusive of agreed support facilities, in the Camp Schwab area, necessary adjustments will be made, such as reconfiguration of Camp Schwab facilities and adjacent water surface areas.

• Construction of the FRF is targeted for completion by 2014.

• Relocation to the FRF will occur when the facility is fully operationally capable.

• Facility improvements for contingency use at Air SDF bases at Nyutabaru and Tsuiki related to replacement of Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Futenma capabilities will be made, as necessary, after conducting site surveys and before MCAS Futenma is returned.

• Requirements for improved contingency use of civilian facilities will be examined in the context of bilateral contingency planning, and appropriate arrangements will be made in order to realize the return of MCAS Futenma.

• In principle, the construction method for the FRF will be landfill.

• The USG does not have a plan to operate fighter aircraft from this facility.

Late last night, a cable TV channel presented a documentary film on Mother Teresa's activities in Calcutta, India.

As you know, she died several days after the death of Princess Diana in September 1997.

It might be a mirabilia that there was no war between the two, though both were very famous ladies in the late 20th century.

Truly, in Japanese, they say that a rich person never has a fight with others (over trifles).

Yet, it is always poor youths that die in war in the Christian world and the Islamic world in addition to the Judaistic world.
